Part 3: Anton and Love

Anton is good at carving. When he was younger and bored he’d take a pocket knife to a log of wood and carve something out of it

The first thing his made Love was a hummingbird.

They have it on their bedside, the rest of the carvings live happily on their windowsill

They both have the most wonderful hair. Thick and shiny.

They go shopping at farmers markets a lot and get their eggs from a family that have chickens.

Love is very environmentally aware and is very creative in how they re-use things

They went to school together but didn’t date til later

Anton had the biggest crush on them

They have wind chimes and beaded doorways in their house

Love has befriended and feeds all of the pigeons by their house because ‘the little guys always get left out’

OH MY GOD. YES. OKAY. you just opened pandora’s box you have no clue. (btw most of this is based on my tattoo au although a lot of this stuff is just stuff i have connected to davey no matter the au)

okay. so. my davey is a high school english teacher and i think something that makes him really upset is when he sees his good students start skipping, not paying attention, etc. while i don’t think this would make him tick per say, i do think it would def make him anxious and on edge. he would absolutely come home and rant to jack about how he doesn’t know what he’s doing wrong and how he’s worried about them and how he wishes he can do more but all he is an english teacher. (and jack would assure him that he’s doing more than enough and just being there and noticing these things is all some kids need) (but davey would def pull them aside in class and just talk to them like they’re humans bc he knows some teachers treat their students as children and they hate that. so he will just talk and try to pick their brains and help them in literally whatever way he can)

MUSIC. okay so davey definitely tries a TON of different genres simply because he is curious and he wants to hear it all. (he wants to experience every bit of life that he can and that includes different genres of music.) at the end of the day tho he’s a slut for sad queer indie pop: hozier, lucy dacus, and kevin atwater are his favs. (i could go on a whole different rant about how davey coded some of kevin atwater’s songs are but i’ll refrain for now.) he grew up listening to billy joel and still listens to him when he’s feeling particularly nostalgic or homesick. the album “the stranger” is one of his favorites in the entire world. his parents had it on record, and one year in middle school for his birthday he was gifted a record player, so he was playing that shit NONSTOP. to read to, to study to, to hangout to, etc. les used to come and sit in davey's room while he was doing domestic tasks, like cleaning or homework, so les now has attached that album to davey. (they get a tattoo for vienna, their fav song on the album—davey gets “slow down, you’re doing fine” on his left forearm and les gets “you can’t be everything you wanna be before your time” on his right forearm) (done by jack of course)

jack listens to more alternative stuff, and although it’s not something davey listens to on his own, he finds himself humming along to the pierce the veil and green day songs on jack’s playlist 

as far as hobbies and stuff, obviously he reads. he’s always been an avid reader because he loves to get lost in other worlds and he likes to learn about things that he otherwise wouldn’t have had the opportunity to. he gets into reading slumps around midterms and finals because he’s grading sooooo many papers but like as SOON as that’s over he falls back into finishing a novel in a couple days and he absolutely loves it. it’s just so… refreshing in a way. (sometimes, when he’s particularly missing jack, he’ll go and just sit at the tattoo shop and read. he’s content to simply be in the same space with jack and he also loves sneaking glimpses of jack working.)

he also absolutely loves to cook. he grew up often helping his mother in the kitchen, so he’s sort of always loved it. once he moved out and began living by himself he found a whole new appreciation for it. it’s his way to decompress at the end of the day and … in a way food is his language?? like he will make meals based on what he’s feeling. if he’s really happy he doesn’t mind making something that takes a while. it’ll be bright and fresh. if he’s had a particularly rough day though, he’ll throw something frozen in the oven and call it a day. (over time, jack slowly realizes this, and can gauge what davey needs based on what he says they’re having for dinner. for example; if davey’s just making something frozen, jack will give him an extra long hug and force him to take a hot shower in order to relax. jack often takes over “cooking” on these days)

don’t even play on his animal crossing island. he likes the domestic video games with goals that he can take at any speed simply because they’re relaxing and cozy. he loves making his island all organized and pretty 

meanwhile jack is like begging for the switch to play mario kart

-Harvey has an irrational fear of Sebastian. This was spared when Sebastian came in for his annual checkup and Harvey realized just how much Seb rejects his body (smoking).

-Harvey takes his coffee as bitter as humanly possible only because he says sugar “makes his tongue burn.”

-Harvey (in my head) is 6’2” and 32 years old, and has those use tiny grey patches on the sides of his hair, which he will let you play with!

-Harvey absolutely HATES Pam because she walks in smelling like shit and looking even worse.

-I feel like Harvey smells like hand sanitizer and oak, maybe that’s just me tho?

-Harvey definitely isn’t muscular like someone like Alex, but he definitely isn’t dad bod material like Shane, so I like to think he is somewhere in the middle, with a lot of muscle and some chub!

Series!Dave head-canons that were rotating in my mind

He is for sure autistic, he has some semblance of routine that he keeps religiously, but it's more in place so he doesn't need to spend energy thinking about the choices he must make;

In the same vein, Dave is a always eat the same thing so he doesn't need to think about it. Be it take out or easy to cook meals at home. If he's offered a different kinda of food he will try it and probably enjoy changing things a bit;

He has lots of low effort hobbies (it gets very boring not trying to sleep).

Series (nothing scary, his mind doesn't need more fuel for nightmares) (when he does watch it he barely gets scared, the only "good" part about having so many night terrors). Gardening with easy to keep plants the ones you can water once every week, and one or two needier ones).

Katie taught him how to crochet and he likes to make her beanies and scarfs. You don't need to count that much and helps to soothe his mind. And in the end Katie has a gift that symbolizes his love.Before they broke up he was working his way in a afghan with her favorite colors. (with his luck it was probably the sweater curse)

He likes playing video games that do not required quick thinking most of the time. His favorites are the ones from his childhood, super Nintendo and game-boy have a special place in his heart. When things get tough the nostalgic sound help him calm down. It works as escapism for him;

Dave enjoy long drives, specially at night. He usually put an album and just drive in one direction just enjoying the music. He tried in silence, it is very nice, but if it is a bad day his mind goes to dark places and the noise coming from the radio helps a lot;

I feel like Dave would really enjoy hozier, twenty one pilots and dad rock and post rock. He shines when it gets to indie artist, with the amount of time he has he get to discover a lot of very small artist. All of them are in his To Drive playlist;

In general dislikes to drink or smoke. When younger took him to dark places and he saw how addiction can destroy someone, so he stays at sodas and sparkling water. He will drink socially if offered, and keep it at just one tho, Dave doesn't wanna risk loosing control;

Dave is very touch-starved, he has been dodging from touch since he was a kid. Now every brush from someone's hand burns and it feels five times stronger to him. He gets overwhelmed easily in situations where people are touching him (a crowd, some excusing to pass through or shaking hands). It takes a lot of time for Dave to understand that he is touch starved, it was after he had an episode at work and Matteo patted his shoulders to give him some comfort. The feeling of the touch went with him home.

It took a couple of weeks for Dave to initiate hugs with Katie. Kisses and sex was okay as was a new experience, but day-to-day touches were way harder. And now that he got comfortable he loves to hug them, always have some part of their bodies connected. Dave become the biggest and warmest cuddle bug and it's all Katie's fault. (Katie couldn't wait for Mateo to win Dave's friendship so she could get some personal space back);

Before Katie, Dave used to sleep with a teddy bear to protect him from nightmares. It started as a belief when he was a kid, and with time become a ritual. The teddy bear stayed besides his pillow and after waking up he would pet the soft fur. With Katie the plush got a special place in a shelf. Now that they went away the teddy reclaimed his spot on the bed;

Dave has a lot of self-hatred, he is sure love is wasted on him. So when he get a fraction of it Dave will put his all on it. As much because he is very kind but also as a way to deal with the guilt of being a burden and waste of kindness;

After the first scars happened, he takes showers in low light to not see the damage inflicted;

Dave is a complete romantic: flowers, cute notes, bought and handmade gifts. He will make playlists and send photos of things that reminded him of the person. He also takes this same energy to his friendships (although he doesn't have a lot of friends). Friends and partners have the same priority in his heart;

I'm not the biggest fan of socks but I have a go-to pair for when it gets cold that are like those hospital socks you get that have the little bumps for grip? They're a lil long, fuzzy, and yellow

I have a variety but I'd say darker colors like dark blue, black, and dark red make up most of my closet!

I wear glasses! I suffer from some eye conditions so I need them for going out and seeing things that are far.

I have a gray gap hoodie that's oversized and I've had it sinceee late elementary. There was actually a point in middle school where I never went to school without it and when I wore a different hoodie my classmates immediately pointed it out 💀i did end up ripping the wrist cuffs of it though from constant picking at it.

I can cook basics and I enjoy baking but I haven't made anything from scratch so I make cakes, cookies, etc with the store mix lmao

I don't have any actually! I do have a small bedazzled blue bear hanging on my purse, though. I used to have a fluffy palm sized heart on it too but the heart fell off.

I have a fawn stuffed animal I call Deery that I got wayyyy back at a garage sale. I was obsessed the second I saw her 'cause she reminds me of my dog. I don't play with her anymore and I mostly treat her like a decoration. She's currently wearing a butterfly choker I don't wear anymore lmao

oof parting with summer for him is probably the best time of the year, jason's totally the type to hate warm weather and can't handle heat. fall/winter are probably his favourite seasons so he's definitely having an amazing transition which is NOT my case at all. summer's my fav ever :(( parting with it is so sad and i hate hate hate the cold weather. we're literal polar opposites but i think he'd still feel super bad for me so he'd take me for one last trip to the beach, one last long midnight drive, a full pool day at the manor and an ice cream date!!!

we do have a couple of traditions with fall!! it's when uni starts, so i like to think that in an au where we both attend it we'd start going on study dates in libraries or just go on week ends to read together (i find that libraries tend to become even warmer and cozier during autumn). we'd also start going on more and more coffee and restaurant dates. during colder days or rainy ones we cuddle together under warm blankets and have a period movies/shows marathon. but my favourite (and most self indulgent one) is the fact that my birthday is during fall (i like to think it's the main reason why he loves it sm :,) )... so he takes it very seriously and makes the most of it, to the point that if i mention my hatred for it and how i'd rather not have a big celebration he genuinely gets offended. i know that he's cooking up something for me when i hear him blasting red (taylor's version), this is what it feels like or hozier, he says it's so he can get into the mood and get inspired lol. during the "happy" day he wakes me up with midnights because that's MY album like taylor literally dropped it on my day so it's a gift so it's mine. (and he also really likes it) (he won't admit it tho). we'd also do halloween!! it's my fav holiday and even if it's not as celebrated as it used to be we still do. we definitely buy themed decorations for our apartment and even go pumpkin craving. some years i succeed in convincing him to attend a friend's party but we only stay for 3 hours max because we get horny halfway through it and need to get back home asap. but we never miss the halloween mini gathering at the manor where we have dinner and spend the night telling stupid spooky stories or playing one of those detective games (all the guys are (un)surprisingly bad at it, for top tier daily detectives)

sunnie kind of beat you to this question i've already answered it here hahah!! but to keep it short. if jariel were to fit in a trope it'd ennemies to friends to lovers , so it's very much winter slowly turning into spring vibes. we're very moody, so we go back and forth between cold and warm, sometimes we want each other's head on a spike and 5 minutes later we're giving each other head, but we know our banter is most of the time never that serious.

aaaaaah this question is so interesting because i love the concept of exploring new places with different traditions and cultures but i actually hate travelling lawl. it makes me so nostalgic. but i think that in this case he's the living version of home so i'd be more than happy to go anywhere!! we're both from different countries so i'd very much enjoy it if he took me anywhere in the us. in this universe i'd probably been there multiple times but i'd still love to experience it with him, plus he probably knows some niche spots i don't. then i'd take him to my home country morocco, he'll probably complain about it at first because of how hot it is but he'll adjust to it lol. and i love the beaches there so he's in for a ride. i think he'd enjoy it a lot once i take him to museums and historical sites. or just having moroccan tea and some dinner with my mom is enough fun for him. but i'd also sooo enjoy going on a european tour with him. i live in france now so i'd bring him here too. 100% taking him to paris even if it's much more dangerous and less friendly than it looks but. still paris. we're going on multiple dates there and what better place to get him more into french literature. but i'd also love to visit italy or greece with him. actually i'd love to go anywhere as long as it's with him.

Also, let me just catch up with you rq! I remembered that I completely forgot to congratulate you on your birthday, so happy belated birthday I guess 😭❤️ Uni has been kicking my ass, especially the commute between my home city, the city I study in and the city where I am working on my doctor‘s study/thesis 🥲 Idek if I have ever told you, but last year me and a few other students were sent to the other end of the state to continue our education in another hospital there. All those years before I was living with my parents and just commuted to Uni (which is in the city where I am working on my thesis rn), but that was not possible anymore. Luckily I got an apartment in the student dorms there (which belong to an entirely different uni, but they were kind enough to offer us rooms as well), but it was so fucking bad. Not the apartment itself, mind you, just the rest. My student dorm was basically at the other end of the city, I had no car, and the buses drove 2x per hour and would often not come at all. There is no direct connection between the dorm and the hospital, so you have to take the bus to the inner city and then take another bus there. I had to walk to the hospital more times than I can count, and that‘s a 5km walk, so you can imagine how I arrived to my lectures. I had courses and training the entire day, and would often arrive at like 7pm in the evening, completely exhausted. Add onto that that it was winter (🫠), so the days were short, cold, and the weather was unpredictable, and I had to cook and keep up the apartment + the commute to my home and thesis city. The people there were SO unkind, some didn’t even greet me and would not even wait a few seconds to keep the door open for me, even though they could see I was carrying a big pack of water bottles. I was blogging from the trenches back then 😭 I applied for the other student dorm in the inner city, right next to the bus stop for the bus to the hospital, since all my friends live there, and to combat the loneliness I had experienced during the winter. They approved, and I moved in at the end of March/beginning of April. It’s sooo much better here, the people are kind (we even have a chat group on WhatsApp), the apartment is smaller and has an objectively better atmosphere, and I save so much time now. I also managed to get closer to my friends and actually go out with them/ invite them over for coffee.

On a more positive note, my friend and I managed to get tickets for Hozier in December 🎉 I told my BFF, because we discovered Hozier back in school together and have always promised each other that one day we will go to one of his concerts together, and she and her roommate (who also went to school with us) managed to get tickets as well, sooo we’re making the whole thing into a vacation 🫶🏻 (for clarification: My BFF lives in the same state as I do, just in a different city and often has to commute to Berlin for her studies/work since the program she’s enrolled in is a so-called ‘Duales Studium’, a concept that is, I think, exclusive to Germany. We rarely get to see each other, but we text almost every day.)

I currently just want to finish the exam season so I can have my two weeks of peace in Bosnia in August 🤘🏻

I think those were all the big updates on my life 😄 I should make more of my own posts so I can keep people updated in real time, just like you do 😵‍💫 I am so sorry for the way your bf’s mom treated you, that was so disrespectful and uncalled for. I also feel sorry for your bf for having to apologize for her actions. People who have no filter and no shame are the absolute worst 🫠. I hope her words didn’t hurt you too much, and that I am proud of you for getting to a weight where you are happy and content with yourself ❤️

ahskahdsk my bfs mom is absolutely certifiable so it doesn't bother me too bad (and tysm for being proud too of my happy weight! being in recovery has been the best choice i ever made for myself) i felt so bad for my bf & his dad too it was like damn spending basically ur whole lives dealing with someone else's crazy behavior & constantly apologizing for it just sucks so much. But that's probably why he became a therapist lmao
