Why it is important to get School Affiliation?
The main objectives of the CBSE were those of: serving the educational institutions more effectively and to be responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the Central Government services and had frequently transferable jobs across the country.
CBSE is one of the most preferred boards in the country and the reasons are many. CBSE is behind maintaining uniformity among all the students across India. It's effectiveness is reflected on the number of schools affiliating with it each year. It covers basic and general knowledge required for a child to move forward in terms of education. Not only have they introduced All India Board exams for Standard 10th and 12th.
We are, at our core, social creatures. Affiliation is the strength that allows us to join with others to create something stronger, more adaptive, and more creative than any individual — the group.
1. The Roots of Growth:
Your family is your child's first and most important group, glued together by the strong emotional bonds of attachment. Yet your child is also connected to other groups with far less powerful bonds — he is part of a culture and community. Membership in all of these groups will shape his life. In turn, as he grows he will influence them. It is in groups that your child has thousands of brief emotional, social, and cognitive experiences that help define his development. The capacity to join in, contribute to, and benefit from groups is essential to his healthy development.
2. Necessity to learn engagement with people:
From his primary relationship with you, your child has learned social language and basic rules of interaction. The importance of these rules is reinforced by his dependence on you and your inherent size, strength, and power. However, none of these factors is present when your child first starts to interact with other young children. Because of this, children tend to be better at engaging and affiliating with adults than with other kids. The "rules" of social engagement and communication between children take time and experience to learn.
3. Grasping Group Dynamics:
As children grow, they become better at maintaining and managing multiple relationships. Structured and regulated group interactions such as those in a preschool classroom help develop these skills. Picking a partner to work on a task or play a game with provides opportunities to wait, share, take turns, cooperate, and communicate with others. The games and the tasks increase in complexity as your child grows.
4. Offer the Help and Support to the Children:
The majority of children who have problems in groups have yet to learn how to self-regulate or reach out to others. They do not easily learn social cues and often act in impulsive or immature ways when they do not get what they want. This makes other children avoid them, which creates a negative cycle — fewer opportunities to socialize leads to slower social learning. Over time, these children stand out further and further from their peers in their capacity to be a comfortable part of the group. A distant, disengaged, or impulsive child won't be easily welcomed in a group. And in fact, if he is not part of a group, he may act in ways that lead others to tease or actively avoid him.
The only priority of the School and Affiliation Board is to:
· Devising a student friendly study pattern by introducing effective innovations in teaching and learning methodologies.
· Improvement in examinations and evaluation processes to deliver fair results.
· Promote the skill learning among students by adding job-oriented inputs.
· Conducting various service training program and workshops on regular basis so as to update the instructive skills of the teachers and administrators.

Which Curriculum / Board / Syllabus Option Should I consider for the new school setup?
Often, when we speak with clients there is a question generally raised by them that you being an education consulting service provider which board or curriculum do you suggest for our project of new school.
Before we proceed we need to know what the various options we have are:
· State Board: State Government Recognized Board
· CBSE: Central Board of Secondary Education
· ICSE: Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE)
· IB: International Baccalaureate ( commonly known as International Board)
· IGCSE: International General Certificate of Secondary Education/Cambridge University
For proceeding with a particular board or curriculum we need to understand that every board has their own set of byelaws which a school management has to follow like:
ü Minimum land requirements
ü Infrastructure requirements
ü Other amenities
So a client needs to take decision of proceeding with a certain board after finalizing on below points:

Cell Phones Teach Responsibility
There is a time and a place to browse Instagram, play Candy Crush, and take selfies. Just as a working professional would never do these things in the middle of a board meeting, so too should a student never do this in class. There are a time and a place to set your phone in silent mode and ignore it (unless there’s an emergency call from family). And by allowing students the freedom to keep their phones in school, they’re learning a big lesson in being more responsible that will serve them well.

Preparing young people for the modern world
Schools have a duty to prepare young people to live in the world outside the learning environment. Mobile phones are an integral part of life and schools should be helping young people make appropriate and effective use of them.
Today’s students are savvy and can use digital calendars, like Google calendar, for keeping track of homework due-dates, study times, and extracurricular activities. By having a multi-device charging station in the quad, cafeteria, library, and in every building, students can keep their cell phones and tablets charged so they can manage their student lives while preparing for their working adult lives.

Reasons we can use Mobile Phones in the School Premises
When most people think of K-12 students with constant access to their cell phones they envision students slacking off in class by scrolling through social media, texting their friends, and playing games. But the reality is this: the scenario represents a small majority of any student body, and if those students didn’t have their cell phones, they would find other distractions. After all, class goofs, mindless daydreaming during math class, and causing class disruptions are behavioral types that have existed long before mobile phones even existed. Simply put, if kids didn’t have cell phones in school to use as a distraction, they would find other methods of distractions.
However, the value and benefits that cell phones add to the students’ experience have no substitutes. In fact, cell phones in schools do far good than harm as they prepare students for the real world, help them learn how to be responsible, are engaging learning tools, and help promote safety.
1. Cell Phones Teach Responsibility
There is a time and a place to browse Instagram, play Candy Crush, and take selfies. Just as a working professional would never do these things in the middle of a board meeting, so too should a student never do this in class. There’s a time and a place to set your phone on silent mode and ignore it (unless there’s an emergency call from family). And by allowing students the freedom to keep their phones in school, they’re learning a big lesson in being more responsible that will serve them well.
2. Banning them will not stop them being used
It will simply push that use underground. Much better for the device to be visible on the desk than hidden under it.
4. Cell Phones are Tools for Emergencies
There are a number of emergency levels that constitute different threats. Whether a student left their essay at home and they need to call a parent to bring it in or if there is an intruder on campus posing a threat to the safety of all students, having a powered cell phone can help prevent a disaster from getting worse.
While we don’t want to expect tragedies to happen, it’s important for schools to have appropriate measures in place in the event that this happens. That includes allowing them to access their cell phones during school hours. And, cell phone charging stations and charging lockers at schools can help keep campuses safe and help alert emergency services in times of need.
5. Most schools cannot afford all of the technology that they need.
It seems crazy to ban the use of the computers that children have in their pockets – bearing in mind that today’s mobile phones are considerably more powerful than computers were only a few years ago.
We are not stating that Mobile Phones should be used in the schools but clearly, their introduction needs to be carefully prepared for and aligned with our appropriate educational aims. Of course, that is more difficult than simply banning them, but it is also the right thing to do educationally.

Area and Size of the Land matters while constructing a building in India
Land required to scale infrastructure to meet the projected enrollments must be factored in. Ease of construction/development is desired. In the case of a building, it must be open to alterations, customizations and must be fit structurally. Those looking to convert engineering colleges into a K-12 school must keep in mind that the desired customizations are affordable.

What are the different aspects of selecting a land for a School Project in India?
Selecting the most appropriate site for a school is an important consideration for a school district and the school community. A lot of aspects are being present while selecting a land for a school project in India, we can say, the location, size, and shape of a school site can materially affect the educational program and opportunities for students. Because program needs differ, school districts must carefully develop selection criteria with the requirements of the local school program in mind. The selection must be based not only on current needs but also on projected needs. It is not a simple task. The primary purpose of this guide is to help school districts make the wisest selection possible.
School site selection is affected by many factors, including health and safety, location, size, and cost. Those persons responsible for the school site selection will have to evaluate both the present characteristics and the possible future characteristics of a site and its surrounding property. Because the site selection team often is unable to locate a site that meets all the criteria agreed on, it should set priorities and be prepared to make certain compromises. In addition, the team must weigh those site characteristics that may adversely affect the choice. The careful assessment takes time, but the importance of each decision justifies the attention. A public comment period should be incorporated into the process to receive information and support from the broader community for both the primary alternatives and the recommended site or sites.
These are the key aspects of selecting land for a school project in India:
1. Accessibility
Must be very well connected by road, rail and/or Air. Approach road leading to the school should not be discounted either.
2. Time to reach the location
Irrespective of the distance, the time required to commute to the school must not exceed 10 to 30 minutes. In the case of a boarding school, busy parents should be able to easily pull out time for school visits.
3. Area and Size of the Land
Land required to scale infrastructure to meet the projected enrollments must be factored in. Ease of construction/development is desired. In the case of a building it must be open to alterations, customizations and must be fit structurally. Those looking to convert engineering colleges into a K-12 school must keep in mind that the desired customizations are affordable.
4. Safety & Security
The location must not have the reputation that would compromise child’s safety and security. It must not close to a geographical fault line
5. Titles & Price
Land/building titles are very clear and are free from legal disputes. Financial consideration is central to the decision of choosing the property. The price would affect the quality of the school as it will determine the direction in which it would evolve. Development fee also has an impact on the overall project budget.

Importance of Extra-Curricular Activities in Schools
Completing extracurricular activities means you are going above and beyond your school requirements.
However, simply playing soccer with your friends on the weekends for fun isn’t actually an extracurricular activity, even though it has nothing to do with school.
Extracurricular activities require a regular time commitment and initiative such as being on a sports team, forming a student newspaper, playing the violin in the local orchestra or taking an online course on robotics.
Here are a few reasons why Extra-Curricular Activities is a necessity
1.Develop Sense of Commitment
Students who participate in co-curricular activities have a sense of commitment to whatever they are involved in. This is because as they take part in whatever sports or club activity they are a member of, they have to commit to it and give their all, and this commitment extends to all other areas of their lives.
2. Learn to upgrade the Skills
Students also learn new skills which are useful in school life. Skills like teamwork, time management, management of any activity, how to lead a group and many more extra skills. Students who participate in sports and other activities have better leadership skills and learn how to grow and build relations with one another.
3. Time management skills are improved
Students who participate in extra activities need to learn time management. As they have to manage time between academics and extra activities. They learn to manage time and also learn how to keep them engaged in free time also. Everything they do will be productive. Time management plays an important role in examinations also, how to write answers in what time is also an important skill to learn. Time management will be used throughout life.
4. Improved Academic Performances
Studies have shown that students who participate in co-curricular activities have a marked improvement in the grades. This can be attributed to skills they learn such as better time management to accommodate their hobbies and class activities, better organizational skills and a boost in their self-esteem. Skills learned in clubs such as debate can be applied in the classroom too, as the students learn how to express themselves better.
5. Helps in interacting with new people and make new friends
Students should be encouraged to pursue extracurricular activities as they meet and spend time with new people, hence forming new friendships. This is important as they interact with those of different or similar interests, and learn a thing or two from them. They also get a different point of view on things as the new friends they make may see life in general from a different point of view.
Extracurricular activities are of utmost important in a student’s life. Students who get involved in extra activities meet new people and because of that their social skills are improved. Students can expand their network which is also beneficial in finding better career opportunities.

Empowering the Students is a necessity
No one is the best at everything, and the sooner you realize that, the sooner you can learn to be a good leader. Delegating tasks to others not only freeze you up for things you do well, it also empowers other people in your class.
Paying attention to their decisions and look for patterns. Are some members of the team constantly being avoided or pushed away? What’s the reason for such an attitude? Try to engage the introvert students more in teamwork, and teach the overactive members to tone down their egos.

Making Students Design Projects through Teamwork
The greatest leadership challenge is presenting a project the entire team has worked on. When you have a group of students working together, who will be the one to write the paper or presentation?
Working together allows students to collaborate on the specific project as a team. This can prevent them from using assignment help and improve the leadership skills they will need in the future.

How to develop Leadership Qualities among your Students?
When teachers encourage students to work on team projects, they learn how to confront their ideas and resolve conflicts. In essence, they learn to collaborate and communicate. The practices that move learning toward that kind of cooperative mindset fall under the term social and emotional learning.
When a student enters the door of the classroom, they are not there solely for the knowledge they are supposed to gain. All of those lessons, terms, definitions, concepts, tests, quizzes and assignments have a hidden goal behind them: social-emotional development.
But did you know that this approach can help your students develop leadership skills, too?
1. Make them Practice discipline
A good leader needs discipline. Developing discipline in your professional (and personal) life is a must in order to be an effective leader, and to inspire others to be disciplined as well. People will judge your capacity to lead by the amount of discipline you display at work.
Demonstrate discipline at work by always meeting deadlines, keeping appointments, and ending meetings on time. If you are naturally disorganized, then you may have your work cut out for you, but you can always start small: try implementing good habits at home, like waking up early and getting daily exercise, and work your way up from there.
2. Designing projects in which teams develop a single final product?
The greatest leadership challenge is presenting a project the entire team has worked on. When you have a group of students working together, who will be the one to write the paper or presentation?
Working together allows students to collaborate on the specific project as a team. This can prevent them from using assignments help and improve the leadership skills they will need in the future.
3. Make them realize learn to follow
A true leader has no problem yielding control to another person when appropriate. You should not feel threatened when someone disagrees with you, questions your thinking, or puts forth ideas of their own. Keep an open mind and give merit where merit is due. It won't always be easy, but make your students learn to value and respect others in the classroom, they'll be more likely to step up to the plate for you.
4. Social-Emotional Skills Lead to Intelligent Leadership
In leadership, emotional intelligence is extremely important. An authoritative leadership style is no longer effective. Once your students make the transition from the classroom to the real world, they will strive for leadership positions in different industries.
5. Empower your Students
No one is the best at everything, and the sooner you realize that the sooner you can learn to be a good leader. Delegating tasks to others not only freeze you up for things you do well, but it also empowers other people in your class.
6. Resolve conflicts
There will be conflicts in the teams. When individual students are asked to provide their opinions, you can expect differences. The point of SEL is to help students overcome those differences and come down to a common ground. That’s what good leadership is all about.
Pay attention to their decisions and look for patterns. Are some members of the team constantly being avoided or pushed away? What’s the reason for such an attitude? Try to engage the introvert students more in teamwork, and teach the overactive members to tone down their egos.

Technology is also a necessity in School Management Systems:
Education is witnessing unparalleled growth and students are increasingly using desktops and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to access the virtual classroom.
