How to Clean a Coffee Grinder? Best Grinder Cleaning Guides

A Coffee Grinder is an essential tool for making a perfect cup of coffee. In the daily life morning, coffee is a famous beverage. The first step to making delicious coffee is grinding the coffee beans. After using the coffee grinder, it is more important to clean it. When we grind the coffee beans, it extracts oil and gunk particles, so it is necessary to clean the grinder properly. We have to follow some guideline when we start to clean the coffee grinder.

Blade Grinder:

1. Remove the hopper then soak it with warm water and cleaning it with soap. After cleaning, we have to dry it by natural wind.

2. We can also clean blade grinder by using uncooked rice. First, we need ¼ cup uncooked rice in the grinder then start the machine to run and grind the uncooked rice for 30 seconds to 1 minute. After 1 minute stop the grinder machine and trash the smashed rice, clean the grinder with a soft cloth or paper towel.

Uncooked rice absorbs coffee oil from the grinder and removes the bad smell.

Burr Grinder:

1. Remove the hopper, plastic and rubber parts from the grinder and wash it with warm soapy water.

2. If the outer burr can removable then remove the burr straightly. We can use a clean soft cloth to clean the grinder. There also have some cleaning grinder brush which can be used to clean the grinder easily.

3. If the burr can’t be removable in that case, we can use a toothbrush or wooden pick to scrub and clean the inner and outer part. By repeating this process it can clean gunk particles properly.

4. The burr grinder shouldn’t clean with water. Because burr grinder is made with metal part and water can damage the inner function of the grinder.

Disc & Conical Grinder:

Disc and conical grinder is the latest update of a burr grinder. So we can clean this grinder by following the burr grinder cleaning guidelines.

How long a coffee grinder will be work, it entirely depends on the process of using and cleaning the grinder. So if we follow the above guidelines we can use our grinder for a long time.
