Timeless Sherwani: Explore Sherwani Styles That Shine for Every Type of Occasion
When it comes to traditional Indian menswear, the sherwani is a timeless classic that has continued to evolve with contemporary styles. Whether it’s a wedding, reception, or a festive celebration, the sherwani is the go-to outfit for men looking to make a statement. In this blog, we will explore various sherwani designs and styles, and provide tips on selecting and caring for your sherwani.
Exploring the Various Styles of Sherwani
1. Classic Sherwani: The Timeless Tradition
The classic sherwani is a long coat-like garment that extends below the knee. It is often made from rich fabrics like silk, brocade, or velvet, and adorned with intricate embroidery. This style is perfect for traditional weddings and formal events. The timeless appeal of a classic sherwani lies in its elegance and the luxurious feel of its fabric.
2. Indo-Western Sherwani: A Modern Twist on Tradition
Combining elements of Western and Indian fashion, the Indo-Western sherwani is a modern twist on the traditional design. It may feature asymmetrical cuts, unique buttons, and contrasting fabrics, making it ideal for grooms who want to stand out. This style is perfect for those who wish to blend traditional aesthetics with contemporary fashion.
3. Angrakha Sherwani: Regal and Sophisticated
The angrakha sherwani is characterized by its overlapping front panels that tie on the side. This style, often adorned with detailed embroidery, is perfect for a regal and sophisticated look. The asymmetrical design adds a touch of uniqueness, making it a favorite among men who prefer an elegant yet distinctive look.
4. Dhoti Sherwani: Traditional Elegance
Paired with a dhoti, this style offers a traditional yet stylish appearance. The dhoti sherwani is popular for festive occasions and cultural events, providing both comfort and elegance. The draped dhoti adds an element of traditional charm, making it a standout choice for festivals and ceremonial occasions.
5. Prince Coat Sherwani: Royalty Redefined
Also known as the bandhgala sherwani, this style features a closed-neck design similar to a Nehru jacket. It exudes a royal aura and is a popular choice for receptions and high-profile parties. The sleek and structured silhouette of the prince coat sherwani makes it an excellent choice for men looking to make a grand entrance.
Sherwani Styles for Every Special Occasion
Wedding Sherwani: Make Your Big Day Extra Special
For the groom, the wedding sherwani should be nothing short of spectacular. Opt for luxurious fabrics with heavy embroidery and embellishments. Colors like gold, maroon, and ivory are traditional favorites. The wedding sherwani often comes with elaborate designs and intricate detailing, ensuring the groom stands out on his special day.
Reception Sherwani: Modern Elegance for Post-Wedding Celebrations
The sherwani for reception can be slightly more contemporary. Consider Indo-Western sherwani styles with sleek cuts and modern designs. Jewel tones like navy blue, emerald green, and burgundy are popular choices. This style allows for more experimentation with colors and cuts, perfect for a fashionable post-wedding celebration.
Festive Sherwani: Vibrant and Joyful Attire
For festive celebrations, choose a festive sherwani with vibrant colors and light embroidery. Fabrics like silk and brocade work well, and you can experiment with unique patterns and prints. The festive sherwani should reflect the joyous spirit of the occasion, making you stand out with its lively colors and designs.
Party Sherwani: Style and Comfort Combined
When attending a party, go for a party sherwani that is stylish yet comfortable. The prince coat sherwani or angrakha sherwani are great options. Keep the embroidery minimal and focus on the cut and fit. This style ensures you look dashing while enjoying the comfort of a well-fitted outfit.
Tips for Selecting the Perfect Sherwani for Any Occasion
Understand the Occasion: Choose a sherwani that fits the formality of the event. Heavier embroidery and rich fabrics for weddings, and lighter, stylish designs for parties.
Color Coordination: Ensure the color of your sherwani complements your skin tone and fits the theme of the occasion. Traditional colors for weddings, and bold, contemporary hues for receptions and parties.
Fit is Key: A well-fitted sherwani can elevate your entire look. Crafted to your exact dimensions for a flawless fit.
Accessorize Appropriately: Pair your sherwani with suitable accessories like a turban, stole, or brooch. The right accessories can enhance the overall appearance.
Caring for Your Sherwani to Ensure Longevity
Proper Storage: Store your sherwani in a cool, dry place. Use padded hangers to maintain its shape and avoid creases.
Dry Cleaning: Always dry clean your sherwani to preserve the fabric and embroidery. Avoid machine washing or hand washing.
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Keep your sherwani away from direct sunlight to prevent the colors from fading.
Handling Stains: In case of stains, get them professionally treated. Do not attempt to clean them at home as it might damage the fabric.
Styling Tips for Sherwani to Make a Lasting Impression
Mix and Match: Don’t hesitate to mix traditional and modern elements. Pair an Indo-Western sherwani with traditional jodhpurs or slim-fit trousers.
Layering: Add a waistcoat or a Nehru jacket over your sherwani for a layered look.
Footwear: Choose footwear that complements your sherwani. Traditional mojris or juttis work well, but for a modern twist, loafers or dress shoes can also be considered.

Wedding Invitations
Miguel O'Hara x Reader
Summary: Y/n and Miguel take the day to distribute wedding invitations to the Spider-Gang. But in the midst of all the congratulations they forget to tell a very important member of the wedding party...
Warnings: Fluff, Spider-Gang family dynamics, Miguel's got a touch of baby fever
Author's Note: I FINALLY got around to writing this Miguel x Reader oneshot that's been in my WIP dump for ages. This can be read on its own, or as a continuation of my Hummingbird series.

You blinked around Spidey-HQ, buzzing with excitement and armed with a stack of cream-colored envelopes. The cards within had the following words printed in lacy gold lettering:
Miguel O’Hara and Y/n L/n Invite you to join their wedding celebration on Saturday, October 15, 2105 at 4:30pm St. Javier’s Cathedral 115 Hammond St
You’d visited Pavitr first, finding him tucked away in an alcove on the top floors where he went about carefully oiling his hair.
“FINALLY!” He squealed, sprinting away to wash his hands before gingerly accepting the invitation like you’d just handed him a million dollars. “You’re getting married!” He snatched one hand, then the other, splaying your fingers and searching for the ring, “Where is it? Where is it? I want to see it.”
You chuckled, “Calm down, Gollum.” You reached into your shirt, pulling out the chain where you’d been hiding the ring for the past eight months. “I don’t wear it very often. Art teacher and superhero - remember?”
It was a shame. It was a beautiful, vintage ring originally belonging to Miguel’s mother. He’d since updated it, replacing two of the missing stones with small burgundy gems that matched the color of his eyes. Even if you couldn’t wear it often, you kept it with you at all times, resting against your heart.
Pavitr began to vibrate with excitement, bouncing on his feet. “Can I-Can I tell-?”
“Yes, you can tell people.”
“Really?!” He brightened up.
“Yes. Miguel’s probably already sent out a general announcement by now.”
As if on cue both your watches beeped, a red notification popping up.
Announcement: Y/n and I are getting married. Don’t get upset if you're not invited to the ceremony. There are literally thousands of you. Reception will be at Spidey HQ atrium Saturday, October 15, 2105 at 7pm. All are welcome.
“Perfect timing.” You said, smiling at the words Y/n and I are getting married. You still couldn’t believe it, even though you’d been sitting on the knowledge in silence for the past six months.
“Oh and Pavitr. Miguel will probably ask you this again later but… would you like to be a groomsman in the wedding?”
Pavitr’s lips trembled, then broke into the widest smile imaginable, brown eyes crinkling. He surged forward, wrapping his lanky arms around you and spinning you around.
“YES! YES! A million times yes!” He gasped. You may as well have gotten on your knees and asked for his hand in marriage. “Oh my goodness this is all I've ever wanted. What are the wedding colors? I need to get a new sherwani.” He finally let you down, grabbing your shoulders and shaking you desperately, “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THIS SOONER?!”
You gripped his hands, your cheeks aching from how hard you were smiling. Pavitr's energy was unmatched and you could feel his joy rubbing off on you.
“It’s really going to be a simple ceremony. And we didn’t want to pressure any of you with the typical wedding prep stuff.”
He looked incredulous, “So no bachelorette party? No-no manicure days or spa days or...”
You shook your head no and his jaw dropped.
“WRONG!” He shouted, touching the tip of your nose with his finger, “Are you free next Saturday night? Yes? Good.” He shook his finger at you, “No wedding prep stuff? Really? Pah!” He threw his hands in the air, muttering as he walked away and started dialing up Gwen and Miles.
“You told Pavitr before you told me?!” Gwen asked, mouth agape. She pushed her lunch tray to the side, the excitement chasing away her appetite for the time being.
“Fuck that. You told Pavitr before you told me?!” Miles slammed the milk carton on the table, spilling a few drops, “I thought I was your favorite.”
“Piss off, Miles.” Gwen teased, ruffling his curls. "I'm her favorite."
“One semester abroad with Hobie and you’re already sounding like a Brit.” He teased back, never moving far enough apart from her that they weren’t touching.
She’d recently gone for a shag haircut. The tips of her dyed hair fading into a pale bubblegum blue. The new nose piercing completed the look and Miles was smitten.
You wrung your hands together. “Well I’m telling you now! And! I’m asking you to be part of the wedding party. So what do you say? Wanna be a groomsman and a bridesmaid?”
They didn’t even look at each other before saying, “Absolutely!” In perfect unison.
The rest of the day went similarly, full of excited squeals and hugs and twirls. Everyone at Spidey-HQ - minus some of the newcomers - knew who you were and didn’t hesitate to shout their joy, whooping and calling out across the atrium.
“CONGRATS, TEACH!”
“LET’S GO! SPIDER-WEDDING!”
“CONGRATULATIONS!”
Hobie leaned against the window, hands shoved into the pockets of his patchwork leather jacket and flashing every color of the rainbow.
He stuck his hand out without a word, a crooked smile on his face, “I don’t believe in state-sanctioned marriage, you know. You and Miguel are already married - have been for ages in my book.”
“You rummaged around in your bag for the last of the invitations, finally locating the envelope that had slipped into one of the inner pockets and out of sight.
You hesitated, trying to hide your disappointment, “... so does that mean you’re not coming then?”
Hobie quickly snatched the invitation out of your hands, slinging his arm around your shoulder and rubbing the top of your head with his knuckles. You laughed, shoving him away and fixing the tangles he’d made in your hair.
“Pffft, of course I’m coming. It’s important to you.” He shoved the cream-colored paper into his pockets alongside a couple posters he hadn’t found a proper place to plaster them on yet. “Don’t be ridiculous.” He smirked, “But I hope you’re not expecting me to show up in a suit.”
“Wear whatever you feel comfortable in.”
“And are you going to ask me to be a groomsman or something? Make a toast at dinner?” There was no contempt in his voice… If anything he seemed expectant. Happy.
“Actually, Miguel and I were hoping you could be the flower girl with May and Benjy.”
He brightened up, flashing a sunflower yellow and shooting off curls of newspaper print like fireworks.
“HA! I like it. I like it.” He pulled his hands out of his pockets, opening his arms wide and sighing like he was giving up on an age-old war, “Alright, get in here, girl. I wanna hug you.”
You giggled, scrunching up your nose in satisfied glee as Hobie finally gave into his softness. He liked to pretend he was cooler than everyone else in the room - and he usually was - but that didn’t stop him from also being the softest person you’d ever met.
“Congratulations.” He said, propping his head up on top of your head and mussing up your hair once again.
“Thanks, Hobie.”
You weren’t alone in spreading the news - Miguel was making his own rounds. Margo was the first one he’d told, by virtue of the fact that she was nearest to his office.
“Hey, Margo.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck. He held out the envelope, Margo’s headpiece peeling away from her sleek cornrows. Her eyes glittered purple, wide open and staring.
“Really?” She asked hesitantly, reaching out for the paper.
“Of course, Margo. You’re family. We want you there.”
Her eyes softened and she read through the invitation quietly.
“Y/n was also hoping you’d be a bridesmaid.” He tapped the additional paper sealed in her envelope. “Nothing fancy, but we wanted you at the front with everyone else. Miles, Gwen, Peter B, LEGO P-oof.”
Miguel huffed as Margo all but rammed into his chest, the edges of her flickering. Who knew virtual reality bodies were so durable and dense.
“Thanks.” She mumbled, trying to keep any emotion out of her voice.
Margo didn’t like to talk about home, preferring the VR life she led with the Spider-Society. They were her real family now… she just liked the confirmation.
“Anytime, kid.”
She cleared her throat, pushing him away as quickly as she’d hugged him. “Alright, get out of here. I’m sure everyone wants to see you right now.” She turned around, wiping at her eyes in real life. Her VR body did the same.
Miguel chuckled, rubbing his neck again. He wasn’t used to the kind of attention he’d been receiving since meeting you and learning to open up again. It was almost as if he was likable when he wasn’t acting like a complete asshole.
He was chased by compliments and congratulations all day, Spider-people stopping him to clap him on the back or to bump shoulders like they knew just how absolutely whipped he was.
Something about announcing your engagement to the world made the whole thing feel more real, like he could taste it as physically as he could taste your lips whenever he kissed you. He didn’t wear his engagement ring very often for the same reasons as you, but he slipped it on his finger halfway through the day, standing a little straighter, and looking a little prouder after doing so.
LEGO Peter was next and he’d practically swooned when Miguel had handed him his invitation between his thumb and pointer finger. He’d printed an extra-small version for him. Then he’d fainted when Miguel asked him to be a groomsman, his brick body going rigid and toppling back with the same rattle as a teacup saucer.
“I’m taking that as a yes!” Miguel called out, slipping his head back out of the portal into his own universe.
He needed to make a home visit for Jessica, but she had a champagne bottle ready to burst when Miguel appeared into her home in a crackle of color and brushstrokes.
“AHH! HA!” She tossed her head back with glee. Her mane of pitch black hair smelled like coconut and citrus. “CONGRATULATIONS! Malcolm! Malcolm, get your ass in here. Miguel’s arrived.”
Her husband slid across the living room entrance, a chubby three-year-old boy balanced on his hip and grabbing at his locs.
“Miguel!”
“Hey, Malcolm.”
“Mig!”
“Heyyyy, Jefferson.” Miguel laughed when the little boy grabbed at him, latching onto a strand of brown hair and tugging.
Jessica clicked her tongue, “Jeff, what have we talked about.”
“Sorry.” The boy apologized, patting Miguel’s head and slapping him in the face in the process.
“It’s alright, kid.”
“OOooooh. Get in here, Migs.” Jessica was grinning brighter than the sun, radiating warmth as she wound her arms around his ribs and used her strength to lift him off his feet and shake him like a rag doll.
“Careful, Jess. Can’t break the groom before his wedding.”
“Pfffft, Miguel’s not made of glass, honey.”
That much was obvious enough. Miguel had to keep his body crooked to avoid banging his head against the hanging ceiling lights.
“Congratulations, man.” Malcolm hugged him next, being notably gentler than his wife. He still slapped Miguel’s back hard enough to rattle his shoulders though.
Miguel stayed for a long while, until him and Jess had made their way through three bottles of champagne just because they could. Their bodies burned through alcohol way too quickly to get drunk - a fact that had disappointed Miles when he went off to college for the first time last year.
Jess and Malcolm leaned towards one another like sunflowers to light, with little Jefferson splashed across both their knees and struggling to stay awake as the sun pressed against the windows and turned their pale yellow walls golden.
That would be him someday, with you and your son.
The thought shook him to his core. First, because it was a secret hope that he’d never dared to even dream about and second, because it was now possible. Wonderfully, beautifully possible.
His heart began to flutter, the absence of you by his side suddenly feeling like a gaping hole instead of a subtle ache.
Jess seemed to understand that, making a show of looking at the clock and then down at her son’s open mouth drooling against Malcolm’s arm.
“We should get this little guy to bed.”
“On it.”
“I’ll head out then. Thanks for everything, Jess.”
She made a noise with her tongue, brushing off his thanks with a graceful wave of her hand. “Get out of here you big sap. And tell Y/n I said congratulations too! Actually, scratch that. I’m coming in tomorrow so I’ll tell her in person.”
Miguel chuckled, “Alright then.”
He gave a final hug to Malcolm and Jessica. Jefferson stirred in his mother’s arms just long enough to babble something that sounded adorably close to, “I’m not… I’m not sleepy. I-” before his eyes rolled back and he slumped onto Jessica’s shoulder.
You sat curled up in Miguel’s office chair, legs thrown over one of the armrests as you flipped through the pages of your book on the life of Aubrey Vincent Beardsley. Occasionally your eyes would flicker to the array of monitors, watching the careful web of universes as they flickered and morphed. Fluid, but stable, and in a perfect balance of chaos and order.
Miguel drifted into the room behind you, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and peppering the curve of your neck with kisses.
“Mi amor,” He murmured. You hummed happily, tilting your head further to give him better access. “How is everything going on with you?”
“Better now that you’re here.”
“That’s a pretty great answer.” He chuckled, finishing with a quick kiss to your lips. He came around, lifting you up with ease before sitting down in his chair and placing you in his lap, “And how are things in the Spider-Verse?”
You made a self-satisfied hmph sound. Thank god he’d finally stopped calling it the Arachno-Humanoid Poly-Multiverse. What a mouthful.
“Holding strong and steady.” You flicked your fingers to the side, pulling up the latest day report that you’d already handed two hours ago, “B76’s Black Cat and 1805’s Venom were the only anomalies. Done and dusted with no issue. Reports are on file under Project Catalyst.”
“Perfect.”
Miguel stretched comfortably, curling in on you and resting his head on your chest like the world’s most luxurious cat.
You snorted, blinking your book away with a snap of your fingers and running your fingers through his hair just the way he liked. He groaned softly when you lightly dragged your fingernails against his scalp.
“Right there, babe.” He encouraged, sighing with contentment.
You stayed like that for a long while, one of Miguel’s arms wrapped around your waist and his other hand snaking up your stomach to rub circles against your smooth skin. Unbeknownst to you, he was quietly thinking about what it might be like if you ever decided to have kids. If one day he’d be so lucky to lay like this against you and quietly talk to the little child growing in your stomach.
He shook his head, he was getting ahead of himself.
“Everything ok, Migs?” You curled your finger beneath his chin, gently tilting his face up to look at you. His eyes softened.
“Yeah. Everything’s perfect.”
You couldn’t help it, you blushed under the softness of his gaze. It was strange how you could get into hundreds of fist-fights, get knocked on your ass dozens of times over, and yet crumble at the sight of his auburn eyes. You didn’t mind the vulnerability though - you knew Miguel felt the same.
You looked down at his hands, noticing the flash of silver on his finger.
"You wore it today?"
He smiled when you took his hand in yours, kissing his palm, "Felt appropriate."
You tugged the necklace out from under your shirt, carefully slipping the ring off the chain. Miguel took it wordlessly from you, gently kissing your hand before sliding the ring onto your finger. It was warm to the touch after hours pressed against your heart and Miguel felt a surge of love flood his chest seeing you wear it.
“Busy day, huh?” You asked when he settled back down, holding your hand tightly in his.
He groaned, “You could say that. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many people talk to me in my life.”
You prodded him in the side, “That’s not saying very much.”
“Ouch.” He grinned, kissing your chest.
“Did everyone say yes to joining the wedding party?”
“Yes. You?”
“Yup.” Your lips popped on the end of the word.
Miguel grinned wide and unabashedly leaning closer to you, “Then we got ourselves a wedding,” he said, smiling against your lips. He tasted like coffee and cinnamon.
You chuckled, “Maybe we shouldn’t have sprung this on them so soon.”
Miguel shrugged, “We needed to tell them at some point, cariño. And it’s not like we’re doing all the extra stuff. They just need to show up to the church at this point.”
“I know that. But Pavitr seemed to disagree. Apparently I'm going to have a bachelorette party next weekend.”
He pouted, “No party for me?! I’m hurt.”
“Peter didn’t bring it up with you? I thought he'd be over the moon about being Best Man.”
Miguel’s head shot up, thick brows furrowing in confusion beneath a bed of ruffled curls, “I thought you were going to tell Peter.”
You tipped your head to the side, “I thought you were going to tell to Peter?”
“Yeah, LEGO Peter.”
Silence, thick and full of horror fell over both of you.
“Did… did neither of us tell Peter and MJ?” You whispered.
Miguel closed his eyes, his face plummeting into the soft skin of your chest, “Fuuuuuuuuuck.”
The double doors to Miguel’s office slid open with a groan of disappointment. Peter stood there with his legs splayed, carving out a disgruntled shape in his signature pink bathrobe that he never took off, especially with the new addition to his family.
Mayday clung to her father’s chest, her brother’s chestnut mop poking out from behind Peter’s shoulder. Benjy’s grin was gummy and wide and he wore matching noise-canceling headphones with his sister.
“Fuck.” You repeated, your face falling flat.
MJ leaned against the doorway and rubbed her temples with one hand, shoulders shaking with repressed laughter as Peter stalked forward, absolutely livid.
“You MOTHERFUCK—

Can't believe I'm actually actively playing this game again because of the Return of the King Hat Guy (and Crewmeru). That extra little WQ seals the deal for me, and made me not only clear Cyno's SQ 2 which has been sitting in my backlog due to burnout but also replay Kaveh's hangout while I'm at it.
Anyways, I guess it's time I actually share these Sabzerus festival designs I made ages ago? Starting with the birthday girl herself and her funny hat(less) man. I feel like it's an atrocity that nobody actually wears Indian traditional dress in this game, and I also put Hat Guy in one to even out the roster. Making the embroidery patterns may have killed my hand but I persevered.
Detailed shots and some design thoughts under the cut!!
Nahida's design is a game of "how many times can I draw the Dendro symbol without repeating it too obviously"
Her lehenga choli is inspired by a beautiful white and dark green set I saw on Google. My Indian friend advised to not make her outfit too predominantly white, so I made sure the dupatta is dark green and added darker borders. Honestly, Nahida would look so much better if her outfit isn't almost entirely white!
The patterns on her skirt include lotuses, vajras, and the upside-down Dendro symbol. Her jewelry are made of gold, emeralds (rejuvenation, harmony), white diamonds (strength), and pearls (elegance, grace, purity, wisdom, the Moon).
Wanderer's sherwani pattern is a lotus pattern I made myself :) It is rather heavy, but the dupatta is made of fine silk.
His bracelets are based on Buddhist prayer beads (right hand) and a kangan (ornate, heavy bangle type). The same Indian friend suggested it to me because bangles represent "delicateness" and aren't often on men, but he does canonically have a history of wearing feminine articles i.e. his veil as the Kabukimono, so I incorporated it.
His jewelry are made of gold and turquoise. His sherwani is sapphire-colored (wisdom, intuition, mental clarity).
While Nahida does have ghanta imagery on her canon outfit, I decided to emphasize the vajra on her design, and the ghanta on Wanderer's design i.e. his neck accessory. They're an inseparable, matching set.

Could you make like a small fic/drabble/whatever you want about one of the jjk men (prefferebly gojo <3) who's s/o has like a desi family (and although she doesn't live in india) she has to attend like one of those indian weddings and wear those lehangas,
Lehenga (Desi Reader Coded)
Gojo waits excitedly for you to step out of the bathroom. He was most eager to see how you would look in a lehenga. You rarely got a chance to wear one, but he had seen the pretty, sequined, colorful, outfits hanging in your closet and couldn't help but imagine how you would look in one.
Finally, you had been invited to a wedding and asked him to be your plus one, which he had accepted, and he had gotten himself a sherwani after confirming the color of your outfit to match.
You had fussed with your makeup, and curled your hair, adding the jhumkas to your ears, a choker, and a dozen bangles on each hand to match.
The lehenga was a lovely shade of saffron, the skirt flowing down your hips and legs, flashing at every glint of light. You took a breath and adjusted the dupatta, observing the gap between the blouse and the skirt, the way it playfully flashed your stomach and waist, feeling electrified at the thought of your boyfriend seeing you like this. Making sure the maang tikka hasn't moved from the center of your forehead, you step out.
Gojo's eyes widen with appreciation, eyes dazzlingly bright as he takes you in, looking so beautiful and alluring, the kajal emphasizing your eyes.
"You look so beautiful Y/n!" he says with enthusiasm. "You're all dolled up!"
"The bride will be decked out way more than me."
"Doesn't matter. You're the prettiest girl to exist Y/n." He gets off the bed and pulls you into a tight hug.
"I want a lot of pictures tonight. Need to show off my pretty girl to everyone at work." You giggle as he twirls his finger, indicating for you to spin, his smile becoming adoring as you oblige.
You feel like a princess, and he certainly spends the rest of the night treating you like one.

eisuke ichinomiya x desi!reader headcanons !!
im so bored so here are some headcanons bec i love being desi
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
• he hates it when he has to wait and initially when you started dating you tried your best to be on time whenever he paged you but as your relationship progressed, its game over. whenever u have to go out, you ALWAYS leave at the the desi time and he slowly got so used to it, the one and only time punctual eisuke was late to events.
• eisuke has a massive sweet tooth so when you first made him kheer, he absolutely loved it although his only words were ‘not bad’. He definitely asks you to make it again so you feed him other ‘mithai’ (sweets in urdu/hindi) like gulab jamun, rasgullay, JALEBI etc and he loves it so much.
• you make him desi food from time to time and actually requests it like you him ask ‘eisuke what do you want for dinner today?’ and he just says ‘you made nihari last time, it was good. make it again’ he finds it very flavourful.
• he’s very familiar with other cultures since he’s a businessman and often interacts with foreign businessmen. he knows about the clothes and customs of your country. imagine eisuke in kurta or sherwani EISUKE IN A KURTA A BLACK KURTA AT THAT (i would actually die). Whenever you go to family events, you always wear traditional clothes and once eisuke is invited to them, he initially just wears his suit but after some time he starts to indulge you and actually wears your traditional clothes.
• he finds it very sexy when you talk and swear in your mother language.
• eisuke is multilingual (as its mentioned in the story) so if he doesnt know your mother langauge he would DEFINITELY learn and boy his pronunciation would be so good (thats a perfectionist for you)
• he says he hates bollywood movies because theyre so extra but thats a lie. whenever u play something like ‘kabhi khushi kabhi gham’ or ‘kal ho na ho’ he always watches it with you because he’s intrigued but ALWAYS says ‘this movie is so bad i wonder why you waste time watching this stuff’
• you go around singing bollywood songs or songs in your mother tongue around the penthouse and he just enjoys it so much but he definitely wont say it out loud
• eisuke was FLABBERGASTED when you told him or rather showed him a desi wedding like why is everyone wearing such fancy clothes ??? and he’s even more surprised when he finds out there’s actually three days to a wedding and even more pre wedding events.
• he loves it when you wear mehndi on your hands, he sees mehndi as something that adorns your hand and whenever u apply it, he brings your hand up to his face and smells it because he loves thr scent.
• when you told him about all your family and by that i mean family on your mother’s and father’s side, he has to do a double take because why the fuck do you have SO many cousins? he’s trying to keep up but there’s just so many.
• your parents love him more than you. they literally said it to your face ‘oh my, such a handsome boy, how did you ever end up with our incompetent daughter’ you cannot convince me that this wont happen.
• baba asks you to teach him bhangra and other desi dance steps and you, ota and baba have the time of your life dancing to chammak challo and nach punjaban in the penthouse lounge and eisuke just looks at you like youre comitting a crime
a little something for myself bec im a self indulgent bitch (not exactly a desi headcanon but i wanted to add this)
• every eid you spend with him, he makes sure to spoil you thoroughly. he gives you so much eidi (literally) like he straight up handed you car keys once and went ‘eid mubarak ___, i know you’ve been waiting for your eidi’ and then he just smirks while you think what did you do to deserve so much. he enjoys eid festivities with you and eid ul fitr is his favourite eid.

oop sorry! i did come across one of your mor pankh posts regarding the designs and such about the characters and i do have some points to lay out on their accuracies and inaccuracies, as an indian myself, though i cannot say my word for it will be wholly accurate since again, india as a subcontinent is VERY chaotic and the cultures within different states and a lot of times, certain villages and territories vary drastically. a lot of my points could be disagreed with by another indian and if some of my points ARE incorrect, i'm open to being corrected.
i know it's also pretty late, considering this was one of your older posts but i did give it some chew time. sorry if i'm bothering you.
1) first up is kaalaa baunaa. she IS wearing a saree but the draping and style is pretty reminiscent of modernized styles of saree draping. we do have the traditional drape but the generations right now have gotten to mixing and matching western clothing and experimenting with saree drapes. her outfit, while not culturally inaccurate ( because we HAVE the short/pant combo with the saree ) is grossly inaccurate to the time and setting.
there's also the fact that her outfit screams 'bollywood' in a sense. the blouse in particular is something you'd see on actresses during burner movie shoots ( and even those were a little less provocative...but again the blouse does hold a lot of callbacks to colonial oppression and wearing sleeveless blouses back then was considered 'rebellious' ). in my opinion, if i were to change up her design, i would just omit the saree and put her in a salwaar, since that is the usual go to in northern indian states ( unless in formal events ).
but for the stuff i loved about the design? is the design itself XD. it's just grossly inaccurate to the timeline, but in a modern context, it does have a very stylish flair to it. i just wish she reserved those for festivals rather than everyday living ( because from experience, sarees are HARD to walk in depending on how you drape it which is why my college uniform is a salwaar ). unless they were trying to hammer home how alien she is perceived to be, as an arcanist, which in this case? it works thematically. just tone down the sexualization.
her second outfit is a little more accurate though and i have a preference to that. mostly because of the jewellery she uses. mh. the bollywood style outfit? the embroided saree? the baithale bottu? MH. y e s.
tldr ; the design is pretty good but contextually, for the timeline and for her occupation? it's not the most accurate. but i wouldn't call it a travesty and completely inaccurate either. in a modern setting, her outfit would have passed well in a get together or a friend's party.
2) shamane. okay so the imagery and his outfit WAS something i needed to do my research on. but the 'connection to nature' thing is pretty common here too in tribal societies. my own community, while centuries far removed from it's initial tribal roots, still worships familial sprits and natural objects alonsgside the usual practice of hinduism. i kind of liked that aspect about him tbh because it did reflect of the few vestiges that were left over in my community XD. hell a good chunk of his design was very steeped in tribal influence, though differentiating it is a little difficult ( which again is my critique, but that could also be me not being as well versed in indian tribal culture. it's probably in part because of ignorance. ).
the closes i can get to the influence of his outfit would be naga tribes in nagaland with a mix in of a few others. i'll try to do more research and get back to you on that. i'm just wondering how he got all the way to nagaland???? that's like in the far east...though if were to narrow down the locations, it would be in the few locations where it snows...HMMMM. but yeah the feather motif? tribes here seem to tout it too, depending on what tribe it is.
he does wear your typical sherwani with a large coat on top, something that is, in fact accurate to men's fashion at the time. most middle class or well to do families ( the ones who were not a part of the 60% - 70% below the poverty line ) did hold that similar style of traditional wear with western influence, or straight up turn to western clothing as a whole. its a very small nod to the fact that he was from a well to do family at least. then the eye imagery on the prosthetic arm could be a reference to the nazar, though it's not blue.
tldr; his outfit holds heavy tribal influence but i really need to do my research on which ones in particular.
3) kanjira.
okay. i'm a little upset with her. the fortune teller aspect is rooted in how astrology played a huge part in indian culture. the coffee readings could have been an aspect carried over by cultural mixing through islamic trade and invasions as well. kanjira is another aspect that is a little more of unsure territory. there are parts of her outfit that i can recognize. but together it does feel a little disjointed. and confusing. her jewelry is recognizable. her kamarbandh for one and her skirt.
the blouse though? that confuses me. for one it's more in line with 1910s fashion. the blouse was initially not a part of a lot of traditional indian dresses and were introduced by the british due to extreme discomfort ( aka they didn't like that indian women didn't cover up their chest ). the earlier blouses strongly resembles victorian blouses, with puffed sleeves and ruffles. but then there is that older the shoulder thingie and i'm like ??? HOW DOES THAT WORK-
the snake motif could be a reference to the irula tribe from south india. even her name is a reference to an instrument in south india ( which resembles a tambourine ). i don't think her base outfit is based on accuracy due to the mismatched nature of it. it seems like she just took what clothes she could and made do with that, which given her economic status, makes sense. her alt outfit does glean into what influences she took after, perhaps the banjara tribe. i will need to look into it some more. but it is admittedly, facing a similar problem to kaalaa in how it's so heavy stylized. it's not accurate save for the motifs and yes, it could do with some better work in both versions.
now for the stereotype. i'm very on the fence in this sense with how i could understand that the 'thief' stereotype is referenced. but kanjira is however, a product of some very real stuff that happened ( and still goes on even now ). the unfortunate reality is that people who are considered beneath the lower caste and obc umbrella face their share of discrimination as hooligans and thieves amongst the indian majority as well, even today. it's harmful, but she's the reflection of the struggles of a lot of communities who lived in poverty post colonial india. the british left a lot of scars and the governments after did very little to help and kanjira, as a child with no parents did what a lot of kids back then turned to. it's circumstances deeply rooted in systemic oppression, casteism and so many other issues. i've had family members in similar situations ( my mother's side in particular ).
so i do wince at the fact that she's labelled as a 'stereotype' even though i do see WHY she's a stereotype when the context is removed. her spoken english is also another wince. i know you didn't mean to be offensive and i'm sure to a lot of indians you might not be but kanjira's english is the way it is simply because she was never formally educated in it. she does refer to asking for help to read english words and it's fairly obvious she picked up on the language by listening to others speak it. matilda however, did have to learn it from a pretty young age in the foundation. she was educated in it, whether she likes it or not ( a lot like my case ).
a bit of a breakdown here. english is mostly learned in india for the sake of convenience. it's used in our parliament because it's culturally neutral and doesn't show favor to certain state languages ( and native language in itself is a very culturally sensitive topic in india ). you learn it in case you need to study in foreign firms or if you travel abroad. it also means that if you and a good chunk of other indians speak in english, it allows some leeway to communicate in other states. because again, different languages and dialects are spoken in different parts of india. i myself have a better chance of communicating with a different people from different states in english, no matter how broken it is than having to learn a separate language every time.
i know a lot of people in my college who didn't start learning english till grade 11 and speak pretty similarly to kanjira. so alluding to her imperfect english as a 'not great thing' kind of rubs me the wrong way due to personal gripes of mine, mostly in part due to how eletist it tends to be at times. the mindset of janjira not being good at english being considered 'really not great' kind of fuels into a still ongoing problem of insecurity and a lot of other issues i'd rather not clog the post with.
she's fluent in hindi and it's obviously her preferred language and she can certainly write and read hindi as well. it's kind of similar to making fun of an american for not knowing fluent french they picked up from a few classes, while they're still in america. again, i doubt you meant any harm saying that but my gripe with how learning english is so desperately seeded in some families just to appease how the west views us ( that stereotype you mentioned? yeah ) and the constant perpetuation of the stereotype, has a lot of ramifications.
i don't know how to explain it but it's kind of like this : you call broken english a stereotype, we're afraid of being stereotyped, we try to avoid being stereotyped. but there are people here who can't. maybe their medium of education wasn't english for a good few years, even if their family is well off. that leads to further discrimination from us to them and from you to them.
yes english is a neutral language, but it's also horrifically overrated due to the imbued belief that it also alludes to being educated. i lost chunks of my own mother tongue trying to learn english, simply because it was given more priorities at my home and at my school because of us moving and the imbued fear of seeming uneducated.
i know you meant no harm to that.
but on a cooler note, punji literally means 'money'. kanjira named her snake 'money' and with the drip it has? it's strangely cute XD. it's like that one meme.
also kanjira's accent, kind of reminds me of a few annoying girls in my school ( it's a very common accent in north india and my hindi speakers tbh ). she's literally the valley girl's take in india. the drawl, the lilting tones every time i listen to her, i hear that one girl from fourthe grade and i'm like "n o." because it has that condescending edge to it. i love it XD.
tldr ; kanjira is both 'it kind of makes sense' and 'fuck it we ball'. she could do with reworking. i like the thought that her outdated blouse and her clothing was a mix and match, possibly picked up from charities as well but...yeah XD.
these are mostly my takes. overall, i thing r1999 actually has some of the better depictions of indian culture compared to a lot of other stuff out there ( and there is a LOT of bad stuff ). the fact that there was variation in their accents, the casual switch between english and hindi, the story of mor pankh itself and shamane's incessant need to feed us ( which is a thing in our families btw )...i'm pretty happy with it. and yes, even we fuck up aspects of our own culture. aka, adipurush exists and i will shit on that way more.
sorry for bothering you and thanks for reading through it all ( and i hope i didn't come across as rude in that segment about language )!
hiya! sorry for taking so long to get to this ask -- i was out of town for like a week and had absolutely Zero energy on coming back for like another week afterwards. i want to head this off by saying you're not bothering me in the slightest, i'm genuinely delighted to get to be able to talk about things like this in more depth and i really appreciate you taking the time to write this out! (peek behind the curtain: i have gotten up several times and paced around excitedly in the course of writing this. i REALLY love discussion and critique and Learning Context in general.)
i think time's been pretty kind to the Mor Pankh update, all things considered -- having several months to sit on it (and also no longer playing CROB -- good god Centipede and Black Pepper are an absolute mess of racist/Orientalist tropes, and that was pretty recent at the time of Mor Pankh), it's definitely better than i initially gave it credit for. a lot of things you've mentioned here -- especially a good deal of the further context on Kaalaa Baunaa and Shamane's clothing, as well as further context on Kanjira -- is something i truly don't have much to add to other than "i didn't know that, and this makes me a lot more favorable towards them than before".
definitely Kanjira is still someone i find myself heavily split on. i think a lot of what you mentioned about the way i treated her speaking broken English very callously is probably right on the money and thank you for the correction on that end -- given the context of the story that seems to be one of the more thoughtful aspects of her overall characterization and design. the thief/fortuneteller stereotype is something i'm a little more hesitant to dismiss at face value, though; while it may be a coincidence, there's definitely a history of stereotyping Rromani people in particular as like... scantily clad fortunetellers who steal from people, and it's something that feels really prevalent in Kanjira's design for me. from an in-story perspective i think rev19 does a great job of contextualizing and fleshing her out as a character, but from an overview of the character it rings eerily similar to Orientalist tropes about both Indian and Rromani people in a way that i will probably never be fully comfortable with.
i do think it's hilarious that her snake is named Money though. that's beautiful and i can't complain in the slightest.
Kaalaa Baunaa is a delight to read about in terms of where her outfit might be drawn from. i genuinely don't know a good 90% of the fashion/clothing context when it comes to basically anything in rev19, so for a lot of it i'm definitely deferring to you in terms of whether or not her outfit is accurate. i do definitely like her second outfit better as well (it also looks a lot more comfortable. we're under a heat advisory where i am right now and i WISH i had something like that to wear when i eventually have to go out and walk the dog). i don't really have much else to say here, though
finally for Shamane i will fully admit to being woefully out of my depth and being very attuned to looking for First Nations stereotypes owing to that be a particular trope i'm very used to seeing (gods the feather thing happens SO MUCH). that said, i am absolutely kicking myself for not researching things first, i think learning more about the context of his specific design and beliefs makes me come around a lot more positively to some of the aspects of his design -- especially what you mentioned about it being historically accurate, as that's something i did not consider initially and is really cool to hear about wrt what the design process may have been! (also i love his arm design, like, a lot. no idea if connecting it to nazar designs makes sense or not, it does appear that those are almost exclusively blue though maybe in the context of rev19's worldbuilding red eyes would have developed as the "evil eye" instead? idk, but i can probably count on one hand the amount of prosthetic users in gacha games whose missing limbs are actually given thought and treated as aspects of the story rather than just visual flavor.)
in conclusion: yeah, i think after learning more about the context behind these character designs i was definitely a bit harder on Mor Pankh than i needed to be -- relative to other games that take a swing at depicting SWANA and/or Indian cultures i think rev19 is doing way better in that category than most of them. i will say part of why i am so frequently critical of rev19 is that i also love the game a lot -- i don't put much time or effort into critiquing things that are just straight up bad, and if i'm hard on something that's usually because i really want to sink my teeth into it and talk about what works and doesn't work within its story and broader cultural contexts.
(and also -- thank you again for taking the time and thought to send me this! i can't express enough how much i appreciate being able to learn more about the context of a lot of these characters and the story and just, like, talk about it openly. it rocks! thank you!!)
#Anonymous#long post#reverse 1999#AAAAA I'M SO SORRY I'M LATE. BY LIKE A WEEK. CHEESE LOUISE IT'S BEEN A TIME#seriously though again again thank you. i was way too mean about kanjira in retrospect yikes#like admittedly a lot of this comes from a usamerican reading of these designs and noticing some iffy similarities#so i was definitely not going to get it fully right -- but i would always rather be corrected than let something that looks bad go unnotice#(if that makes like. any sense at all)

.°•✿ desi!kaeya brainrot
reader wears feminine stuff, no prns mentioned & can be of any race
✿ ok first of all, he looks like he straight up jumped out of a bollywood movie. he has a unique kind of charm and carries himself with so much elegance that makes you gravitate towards him. was definitely flirty during the courting stage, but also incredibly respectful to you. he considers himself the luckiest man in the world after you started dating him officially.
✿ aunties totally fawn over you when kaeya brings you along to the wedding ceremonies he was invited to (he loves to show you off). it makes him very proud when they tell him how good the both of you look together. when the wedding party begins later in the evening, he asks for a dance while holding a rose in his mouth
✿ kaeya adores it when you wear traditional clothes, whether its a churidar, lehenga or a saree, he loves them all. he will stand behind you to gently part your hair to pin the jasmine flowers onto it while holding a U pin with his mouth and winks when you make eye contact with him in the mirror. he likes the way you get flustered when he kneels in front of you to adjust the ends of your saree and gives you a kiss on the forehead when he gets up. he looks really handsome in a sherwani and lets be honest he would wear a saree too and look great in it
✿ he's not the greatest cook, so he regularly requests auties to teach him the basics so that he can cook roti, curry and biriyani for you. it boosts his ego whenever you tell him how delicious his cooking is. he hopes that he can cook for your parents too when he meets them.
✿ he dreams of marrying you in a traditional desi altar decorated with flowers. he's craving to see you in beautifully designed wedding wear, taking your hand in his to do the saat phere around the sacred fire and applying sindoor on your forehead. he would call you his spouse with the utmost pride in his voice.

Um how about a Indian reader who believes in sex after marriage sooo when they were in relationship gojo has to kinda suffer (in a funny way) being a herbivore and after there marriage he can't just wait to leave the crowd teasing the reader through the function and it would be more fun if it's an Indian wedding cause we all know ristedar picha na shadi ke pehle chorte hai aur na shaadi ke baad 😆
But getting his hands all over her once they leave them alone
I'm imagining his reaction when reader would cry her eyes out during vidai 😆
Btw new Tumblr user here I got excited knowing a Desi gojo fic writer<3
Feel free to ignore tho
Omggg I loved this request it was soo fun!! Like my literal fantasy came to life here!! I did this request so fast in honor of the Goat's homecoming!!
Masterlist
The Wedding Night
So you two have been preparing for the wedding for months. Since you had to organize two weddings one Japanese style and one Indian style
When he found out honestly he was quite amused of course but he always respected your decisions. Not without teasing you at every given moment from sexy scenes in movies to books if there were any he would always say "Just wait until the day we get married~" teasing you on how you believed in sex after marriage.
Now the day was finally here, Satoru in a beige sherwani with blue flowers and golden kadhai asdfghjkl.
When you joined the ballroom oh my wearing that royal wedding dress. The red lehenga with gold all over it. Damn, this man fell even harder he didn't even know he could see this day.
After the var mala, You and he sat in front of the mandap now that's where the fun began.
Satoru's slippers were gone in seconds, even the strongest sorcerer couldn't save them.
Your sister got a lot of money in return which made you sigh at both of their behaviors
"Where are my slippers?" Satoru said looking around as you snickered and looked at your sisters (now salis) as one of them wore the slippers. "Jija ji~," Your sisters said menacingly as they tapped on his shoulders making him look around "Oh, you found them? Thank you" He smiled patting one of their head, oh this poor boy doesn't know what is going to happen now as the swiped the slippers as he was about to reach them making he raise his eyebrow. The eldest smiled and said snickering "Nothing in return~" Satoru didn't has a single clue about what she was asking and placed a plate of golgappa from the waiter in her hand. Making you laugh and said "Not that idiot, she's talking about money the neigh(idk what you call it but in my family, they call it neigh or shagun ka lifafa)" "Oh!! Here my sweet sisters-in-law!" He said putting his card in their hands making your and your sister's jaws drop to the floor. "Oh, Beh--" You were about to curse as your elder sister (can be cousin too) covered your mouth. "Not today Y/n."
After the faire and pooja, it was time to play the games. The most intense game of no other. Both of you were so determined to find the ring in the bowl. After, 7 rounds you finally won the first game. While Satoru won the rice game.
At the Dinner, he thought this was the time he finally would get you alone. But unfortunately for him all your relatives when to meet you.
You two were sitting together while the whole family sat on the larger table as Indian dishes were served as the relatives started to come from one of your closets first. First were from your mother's house who came and fed you two a bite of the food (The custom where like the relatives feed you one bite showing their love towards the bride and groom) "Hai mera beta itni badi hogayi," Your Mama said feeding you two a bite as you turned to Satoru and introduced him to your uncle " 'Toru, This is My Mama the one I told you about." You said as Satoru nodded and smiled at him "Yes I remember, Namaste sir" "Oh don't call me sir, I'm your Uncle now boy!" You Uncle fist-bumped your newly wed husband welcoming him to the family as he leaned to your ear and whispered "Hindi seekh raha hai?" He asked as you giggled and nodded "Abhi tak sahi chal rahi hai classes"
Oh, that was just one of them, and many more from both your mother's and father's side. You introduced those who were left in the group photos
After the whole dinner, there was part of the vidai when you both were leaving to go to your hotel. After the whole energetic wedding now everyone had a solemn look as he looked at you hugging your mother and crying your eyes out. Much to say he was amused he was omg he was so confused he thought you didn't want to go but you had lived with him in Japan.
Getting in the car this mf would be 100 perc. be dramatic saying that you didn't love him and broke his heart, and like he never knew you didn't want to live with him. As you explained that is why you were crying. As you two drove to your hotel. Now finally married.
Ohhhh! Here's the fun parttt!! The suhag raat!!
Satoru finally gets you alone when he finally lifts your veil like in the old Bollywood films looking at your beautiful face decorated with gold jewelry as he kissed you so softly and passionately which of course you gladly returned.
The funny part is that he won't still be able to do what he wants, for actually taking off your clothes he and you would take out the jewelry, safety pins, and makeup for like half an hour.
Oh, he would just be soo fucking touchyyy like literally would seduce you when he helped you take off your safety pins. like squeezing your waist or your inner thighs. Well, You know what happened next right? ;)

Filmi prompts from old and our favourite bollywood songs that can be used for your desi romantic stories or as a cute little idea for your fake scenarios. Kya malum sochte sochte kab manifest hojaye?
1. Neele Neele Ambar Par (Kalaakaar)
-- This summer vacation you are at your nani ghar. The nights provide respite from the scorching heat so you run off to the terrace every night to sit and gaze at the moon until one fine evening, you see a boy opposite to your house wistfully gaze at the moon and scribble something on his notebook. His wavy hair falls gracefully on his eyes, and you can feel your heart melt. It's full moon, and she is right on the top of the terrace, letting her moonbeams fall on this handsome quiet writer. Perhaps, he realized someone's gaze over him. He looks up, and you swear to God that you have never seen such a beautiful boy ever. The boy blushes and continues writing while stealing glances at you.
2. Mitwa (Chandni)
-- It's the last day you both will ever meet in the school premises. Yes, it's farewell today. You are dressed in a yellow chiffon saree. For the first time, your school decided to make the boys wear kurtas instead of the usual suits, and the sight was too pretty for your eyes. Your boyfriend wore the typical black kurta with cuffed sleeves that made your heart go dhak dhak. Loads of fun filled dancing, canteen ka khana, principal ke speech ke baad arrived the time to say goodbyes. School had kept the farewell after board exams so this was literally the last time you all gathered together. After hugging your friends, you go to the school main gate and find him leaning against the adjacent wall.
Hand in hand, both of you walk outside the school. 'Everything is going to change, isn't it?" You ask. He takes a bite of his ice cream, and answers, "Yes. No more school classes, no more sneaking out and we might have a long distance going on, but some things will stay permanent."
"Aur voh kya?"
"Tere mere honthon pe mithe mithe geet mitwa.."
3. Bole Chudiyan (K3G)
-- You are the bride's sister, and that boy is your acadmeic rival at school. However, for now, he is also your jija's dear brother. Today is Sangeet, and you were determined to outperform ladke vale. Both of you were good at academics, but also at dancing. This was a test and a chance to rub defeat on his face.
That was your actual plan until two days ago, your didi jiju decided to have a group combined performance where you and your rival would be the lead dancers to unite both the enemies (you and him). Needles to say, you were mad. There was no way you would dance with his smooth moves and charismatic style. He was mad too. He would never dance with your graceful bollywood moves straight from 90s Saroj Khan choreohgraphy.
Keeping aside snide remarks and your school rivalry, both of you managed to choreograph and coordinate everyone dashed with a little tension that did not go unnoticed by didi jija and cousins. Dressed in a baby pink lehenga, you see him arrive on the stage in a golden white sherwani. He sends a two finger salute to your direction while you roll your eyes.
'Aake meri duniya mein vapas aajana' you pull him gently as per the choreography. He stumbles towards you, not aware of his scarf clinging on to your bracelet. 'Sehra baandh ke mahi tu mere ghar aana...' He twirls you halfway and you notice that his scarf is stuck on your bracelet.
You hate how his stupid handsome smirk is making butterflies fly in your body. After the semi twirl, he turns you over in front, his arm around your bare waist causing you to gasp silently. God knows what came over him. He lightly pecks your cheek in front of everyone and discreetly removes his stuck scarf.
'Oye soni kitti soni aaj tu lagdi ve bas mere sath yeh jodi teri sajdi ve' Didi and jija come in and dance to their assigned part. You run away from him quickly to calm your racing heart.
He is looking at you, a grin gracefully sitting over his pretty lips. You bashfully look up. 'Haan main ho gaya tera sajna.' It's the time for all the boys to come together on the stage. Your rival shoots a smooth wink before going to dance.
4. Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga (1942: A love story)
You accidentally fell from your cycle by speeding over the speed breaker. Obviously you won't cry. You are fifteen now. A girl quickly arrives towards you, and in a soft voice asks, "Hey, you okay? That was a terrible fall. Dhyan kidhar tha?" Wincing, you look up, and see a pretty girl with silver jhumke and white salwar blowing at your wound. She is wearing a multi coloured bandhani dupatta. In two seconds, you forget the blood oozing out of your knee. The only red your eyes are focused on are on the pretty red shade of the girl's lips.
She is about to tear her dupatta to tie it across your wound. Your hand immediately holds her wrist, and you feel electricity jolt in your fingers. "Itna sundar dupatta kharab mat karo. Ghar idhar paas hai. Just help me to reach my gate, please."
Shaking her head, she tears her dupatta while you let out a gasp. "You are bleeding too much, besides I can always buy a new dupatta." She finally looks up at you and smiles. That's when you get a clear picture of her face.
Doe eyes lightly lined with kajal, a small bindi right between her eyebrows, and a small stone nath on her nose. She looks heavenly! You think how in front of such a beautiful girl, you look dust laden after falling off your bicycle.
"Aise mat dekho... tumhe pyaar ho jayega."

Richard Madden x Indian!Fem!Reader
GIF by lulu-tan79
Richard Madden, a successful Scottish businessman, attended his friend's Indian wedding in Singapore. Little did he know that he was about to meet the love of his life. He saw Y/N, a beautiful Indian woman in a green lehenga, and he was smitten. Richard and Y/N started talking and found they had an instant connection. They talked about their interests, their cultures, and their families.
Y/N was raised in Singapore, but her family was originally from India. She was intrigued by Richard's Scottish culture, and he was fascinated by her Indian background. They exchanged numbers and started dating. Richard took Y/N to his homeland, Scotland, and showed her the beauty of his culture. Y/N, in turn, took Richard to India and introduced him to her family's customs and traditions.
However, Y/N's family didn't approve of their relationship. Y/N's father was worried that if their relationship failed, he would lose his job since Richard was his boss. He scolded Y/N and told her to end the relationship. Sara, Y/N's father's friend, constantly talked negatively about Richard and their romance, further adding fuel to the fire.
Despite the family drama, Richard and Y/N's relationship continued to flourish. They shared many comical moments as Y/N struggled to understand Richard's strong Scottish accent. Richard would often tease her, and they would end up laughing for hours.
One day, Y/N's father got angry and created a scene, insulting Richard and asking him to stay away from his daughter. Richard lost his temper and got into a heated argument with Y/N's father. Y/N, caught in the middle, tried to intervene, but her father raised his hand to hit her. Richard, seeing this, went berserk and got into a physical fight with Y/N's father. The scene attracted many onlookers, but Richard didn't care. He would never let anyone harm Y/N, no matter what.
After the fight, Y/N's father realized his mistake and apologized. He saw how much Richard loved his daughter and how much she loved him. Richard and Y/N's relationship was accepted by the family, and they got married in a beautiful ceremony that blended both Scottish and Indian cultures.
As they exchanged their vows, Y/N struggled to hold back her tears, overwhelmed with happiness. She knew that Richard was the one for her, and she was grateful for their comical moments, their love, and the fact that they had overcome so many obstacles to be together.
Richard took Y/N to Scotland, where she experienced his traditional Scottish food, haggis, and tried her best to understand his accent. She found his accent very attractive but often misunderstood what he said, leading to comical moments.
On the other hand, when Richard went to India, he struggled with the spicy food and the heat. He often wore traditional Indian attire, which Y/N found amusing but endearing. She loved seeing him embrace her culture.
Y/N's family eventually warmed up to Richard after seeing how much he loved and cared for her. They also appreciated his efforts to understand their customs and traditions. Clara, Y/N's father's friend, even apologized for her negative behavior towards Richard and Y/N's relationship.
During their wedding ceremony, Richard surprised Y/N by wearing a traditional Indian sherwani. Y/N was speechless, and tears flowed down her cheeks as she realized how much Richard had embraced her culture. The ceremony was a beautiful blend of Scottish and Indian traditions, and they exchanged vows promising to love and cherish each other, in sickness and in health, till death do them part".
As the night went on, the couple danced to a mixture of Indian and Scottish music. Richard tried his best to keep up with the traditional Indian dance moves, but Y/N found it endearing how he would often mess up and make her laugh.
Later that night, as they retreated to their honeymoon suite, Y/N felt a rush of emotions. She was happy to have found the love of her life in Richard, and grateful for the many comical moments they had shared throughout their relationship. As she looked into his eyes, she knew that she had made the right decision in choosing him as her partner.
Richard took her in his arms, and they kissed passionately. The heat between them was undeniable, and they explored each other's bodies with a hunger that only true love could bring.
As they lay in bed, spent and satisfied, Y/N whispered to Richard, "I love you". He smiled at her and said, "I love you too, my beautiful Indian bride".
From that day on, Richard and Y/N lived happily ever after, embracing each other's cultures and creating a beautiful blend of Scottish and Indian traditions. They were grateful for the obstacles they had overcome and the love they had found in each other.

The Goddess in gold
My Indian Nymph ch:3
Chapter 1 ||Chapter2
Tom was at the venue of his sister's wedding, it was bright, colorful, and grand. There were many guests he noticed mostly from the groom's side.
"Tom sweety, oh, you made it", his mom gorgeous as ever, wrapped in a blue saree called out to him hugging and kissing his cheek.
"Hi mum!", replied Thomas reciprocating her action he was covered in a Gold sherwani. Which fit snuggly to his form.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The wedding was in full swing. It was nice to finally meet people other than her dance crew, driver, parents, and even the employees. Aadhya's father insisted her to get 'acquainted with the company's people' as he put it. But she did not enjoy the idea of being cooped up within four walls in front of a computer she wanted to explore travel dance which was her passion. She didn't want to be caged.
She was wearing a gold saree, that accented her curves perfectly years of dancing had given her those. Her beautiful neck is adorned with gold jewellery. Her feet were covered in a pair of gold high heels her hair was made up in a perfect way.
She saw her friend, Aarav the groom making an entrance She dare say he looked handsome his black hair combed neatly he was wearing the typical groom's dress a veshti(it is different than a dhoti ) shirt. Music was blaring over the speakers as the groom made his entry.
Tom was amazed by the culture and authenticity. He saw his soon-to-be brother-in-law make his entrance. He was tall but not tall as him."5'11', he guessed. He appeared to be lanky but he saw the toned muscles of his bicep revealing themselves from his shirt sleeves. He had black hair and a beard.
But something else caught his eye, next to the groom was a woman, not any woman HIS GODDESS....he rubbed his eyes to see whether his mind was playing tricks but no it was really her.
The same doe eyes, pouty red lips, alluring jawline, caramel skin, but this time she adorned a delicate golden saree that hugged her at the right places. Thomas wanted nothing more than to crash his lips on hers and make love tell her how beautiful she was.
Their eyes met and oh!! Thomas swore he felt all the air rush out of his lungs. He would gladly drown himself all day in those black orbs.
Aadhya felt like someone was watching her. She was met by a pair of stunning blue orbs gazing at her. As her gaze wandered she notice high cheekbones thin lips defined jawline with a bit of stubble but the color of the stubble was intriguing it was a light reddish brown which was not common in her habitat as her gaze wandered furthermore she saw firm muscles come into view and she felt her insides or rather her womanly parts doing a little dance. she never felt like this as she stopped her wandering gaze and took the whole man into the picture she felt butterflies dancing in her stomach the air growing warm and suddenly t was no one but her and the man in the scene. She wondered if he was real, if he was he sure was a god.
The wedding was in full progress tom found himself searching for His goddess oh how he wanted to make her his.
Our heroine was no less, Aadhya found herself often searching for the mystery man.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Music was blaring.
Aadhya felt the familiar rush of adrenaline running.
youtube
Soon she found herself on the dance floor dancing to Kala chashma.
Tom was vibing to a Bollywood song when he saw a small crowd gathered in the middle of the dance floor.
His curiosity led him to the crowd as he pushed past the crowd well let's say he forgot how to breathe.
Aadhya was lost in her own bubble. She was sure her mother would give her a whole lecture on how elite and posh she was to behave but she could not care less.
Her hero was beyond amazed he didn't know his goddess could be an alluring nymph too. He could feel the all-too-familiar tightness in his pants with every shake of her hip.
As the song ended she heard her amma shout her full name well this is not good she thought.
"Aadhya acharya!!!!!"
Tom saw a lady in her mid-forties wrapped in a pink saree shout as she approached the dance floor turning he saw that she was walking straight to the golden goddess, his goddess who was currently blinking like a kid who had been caught stealing cookie from a jar.
'Aadhya'...that's her name he thought it was unique.
Well Aadhya did what every child would when caught.....she ran but luck was not in her favor as she collided with a wall no not a wall but a chest of a man the cologne was strong it was spicy and manly and she could again feel her womanly parts dance oh, Shiva!! what's wrong with her . As she lifted her eyes she was met by a familiar pair of blue orbs gazing back at her with concern and........admiration.
Thomas couldn't believe his luck he was holding his goddess in his arm he could feel her soft skin on his palms.Aaand the tightness returned again.
"Are you alright", he asked concerned.
Oh, the accent she guessed right he must be a foreigner Britsh she guessed. Oh, the voice was creating a pool between her legs and not to add the accent she could feel his arms flexing as he held her she wondered how it would feel if he held her with those hands while making love.
Snapping out of the trance and composing herself she gave a nod, "I'm alright, thank you Mr....""
Oh her voice was like honey smooth and velvety he wondered how it would sound when she would moan his name underneath him while he made sweet love to her.
"Hiddleston, Tom Hiddleston", he replied.
"Tom",it sounded angelic coming from her mouth Thomas desperately needed a cold shower.
What both of our lovebirds didn't know was that this would not be their first meeting and fate had a plan for them in store.......

How does the way your character present themselves in public differ from how they are in private?
((That depends very much on what kind of 'public' he's going to be in, and what kind of 'private' he's going to be in. If he thinks he's going to be completely alone, he might not even get dressed. If he thinks that anyone might see him, the most dressed down he will allow himself to be when not 'undercover' is slacks or a lungi, and some kind of long sleeved shirt. He doesn't like to show skin in 'inappropriate' situations, not even his arms. (At the pool, gym, or beach is fine)
When he plans on being out in public, he always looks nice.(again, if not 'undercover') He tends to mix and match Western and Indian styles: a sleeveless nehru jacket over a western button up shirt, with churidar pants. A barabandi or jama over skinny jeans.
If he's out in public as the Riddler, he goes all out. Full three piece Western suit and tie, or an extremely fancy, assymetric indowestern sherwani, complete with dupatta sash and dhuk dhuki double pin brooch. He wears a gambler hat and kilangi with either kind of suit.
With everything, he prefers jutti shoes, with the curled tip folded back and pinned down.))

Eat Your Young
Gallen | Suunaq Industrial Complex | Present Night
A sprawling industrial complex covered the plain, its buildings and roads nearly equaling the size of a small town.
It had stood there longer than some of the actual settlements in the surrounding area, growing piece by piece over several millennia. Power plants and offices jostled for space, interspersed with streets that had been paved and patched more times than anyone could count. Everything was kept in a state of high repair; the finest quality droids maintained the infrastructure, though there were no imperial drones to be seen.
Ever since its earliest nights, the complex had been filled white butterflies that did not seem to feed from or pollinate any flowers; not that there were many to be found in such a place. Any attempts to catch and study them ended in the insects dissolving to nothing, so trolls let them be.
Most didn’t have the time or energy to wonder about what little wildlife surrounded them to begin with.
For marked over each of the complex’s entrances, on the identification cards of all the trolls who worked in that place, was the jade symbol of QPIN - each and every troll there in the corporation-gang’s debt.
Debts paid - in part - by blood.
Debts paid to one of the Queenpin’s right-hand executives, Inshii Suunaq.
—
Three tall figures gathered under the glare of a street lamp, all coming from different directions.
A woman, hourglass-shaped with a band covering her eyes and a cowgirl hat on her head, dressed in a crop top and shorts. A man, broad and powerfully built, wearing only knee-length shorts and no shirt. A person dressed in a beautiful violet sherwani, the tallest of all, wide with soft roundness instead of the man’s dense bulk.
The woman spoke first as they faced each other on the sidewalk, the night air quiet around them.
“Damn, I hate this place.” Rhyssa complained, hands on her hips. “I can’t even see it proper and I still hate it. Would it kill ya to decorate a bit, Shii? The vibes are just awful.”
“I don’t have time for excessive frivolity.” Responded the false violet in a deadpan as they led the other two away. “Trolls can put up ornamentation if they like; I don’t forbid them. Excessive levels of depression are unproductive.”
Rhyssa groaned as she followed, her boots’ spurs jingling softly. “Sugar, you’ve been contributin’ to depression in trolls for a long time without tryin’. I love you, but ya are kind of a robot when it comes to fixin’ a place up.”
Gallen hung back a few steps as the three of them made their way down the sidewalk, letting the other two banter. He was grateful he couldn’t speak, and that he likely wouldn’t be asked to sign very much, or type; if his siblings picked up on his dread, everything was over.
Everything might still be over if he couldn’t carry out the plan Klirro and Tuuya had concocted for him. All his isopods wriggled anxiously in his skin, though he tried not to let it show.
Rhyssa hung back, head tilted, the wasps fluttering around her to serve as her eyes buzzing in concern.
“What’s eatin’ ya, Gal?”
Oops.
I don’t know how things are going to be from now on, he signed honestly.
I hope this makes mother better, but what if it makes her worse? What will we do? How can we care for her? For once, I wish we were more like trolls. Trolls know how to tend to their lusii and quadrants.
All we were ever meant to do was serve her.
We were never taught anything else. Unlike Lleios, we weren’t given the ability to learn much beyond what we were made to do.
I think she did that on purpose, he signed, suddenly angry as he had the thought, eyes narrowing, gestures sharper. I think she wanted to keep us dependent.
She let me learn about religion, she let me watch trolls come to my altar all those sweeps, but she knew I could never truly understand them.
Only Lleios could.
Gallen looked at Rhyssa, whose hand touched her mouth in shock at his words, and he saw that Inshii had stopped walking, looking back at the pair of them as their fins flicked.
The isopod swarm folded his broad arms, blue eyes hard. He wasn’t backing down.
Even if it weren’t for the mission, even if Klirro had never found him, even if he had wound up killing Tuuya after all - these doubts had brewed for centuries, and he was done ignoring his problems.
“Gal! What’s all this hullabaloo?” Rhyssa protested, her own hands flapping in distress as she buzzed with worry. “Where’d this come from all of a sudden, huh? You’ve never - never said a blessed thing - ”
“Now is not the time for such topics.” Cut in Inshii, hard enough that their sister’s hands dropped and her buzzing quieted. She folded her arms, sullenly silent, and Gallen stared the butterfly swarm down, their violet eyes hard.
“Gallen…we will discuss this later.” His oldest sibling’s tone held a practiced neutrality, one he knew was barely holding back anger. Their fins twitched almost imperceptibly, but he caught it.
“Mother needs us now, and she needs us united.”
As if they’d been properly united for sweeps. As if they’d really acted together since Lleios had died.
Killed by a troll, of all things. A troll they had loved. A troll who betrayed them…yet they had wanted him to, so they could die.
Gallen’s fists clenched at the way his youngest sibling had chosen to leave the rest of them behind. If they hadn’t done that, none of this would have happened.
The cold pavement cut his bare feet repeatedly, as it usually did. What did he care? He regenerated his skin nigh instantly, barely noticing as the three swarms drew closer to Inshii’s laboratory.
The thick glass doors slid open with a slight hiss as the false violet led the way in after flashing their ID to a scanner, barely making any sound despite their size. Gallen squinted as they walked into the harsh lighting and gray-white walls and floors, the smell of disinfectant prominent.
There were a few trolls to be seen, but most of Inshii’s staff here were highly specialized robots. The ones that were present shied away from the trio automatically. There wasn’t any fear on their faces or in their movements; they did it instinctively, knowing better than to be close.
“Can we at least eat before this?” Commented Rhyssa, slightly impatient. “I’m assumin’ those ain’t snacks, and I’m peckish.”
“Obviously those aren’t snacks.” Said Inshii in a slightly weary tone of voice. “Food doesn’t work in the laboratory. If you knew anything about science you’d understand just how intensive and time consuming this process has been to replicate. I’ve needed my finest staff on this and had to hire a few extras, which is not kind to my payroll.”
“Ooh, lemme play ya a song on m’banjo, saddest one in the history of the empire, Shishi.” Said Rhyssa, singsong and mocking, actually taking out her instrument as if she was about to start strumming.
Inshii rolled their eyes and ignored her, so Rhyssa pouted and put it away.
Gallen stopped and looked around, not in any hurry to get to what came next. He put his hands in his shorts’ pockets, feeling for the hundredth time that the vial of cloudy liquid was still there.
“Come on.” Called Inshii impatiently. “You’d think we were dragging you to an atheist convention.”
He opened his mouth to huff silently, not wanting to let himself feel amused, and kept walking.
He couldn’t. He had to…he had to…
Gallen twisted inside, hundreds of small legs wriggling and grasping at each other.
He followed his oldest sibling, just like he always had for millennia.
Obedient Gallen. Peaceable Gallen.
Even before mother had taken his tongue, he’d always been like that.
Inshii led him and Rhyssa down a narrow hallway, their precise steps echoing in the near-silence. The faint buzz of electric illumination was the only sound.
Then the lights flickered for a second.
Gallen blinked, looking at his sibling inquiringly. Inshii sighed, their brightly colored fins flicking.
“That’s how much power this has taken. We have backup generators, more than enough…but that’s happened plenty of times over the past few perigees. All Lifeweaver had to do was make a troll body that could meld with a swarm. I’ve had to achieve far more than that.”
“What d’ya mean?” Rhyssa asked, sounding genuinely curious as she ran a finger through her shoulder-length hair.
Inshii’s eyebrows raised in mild surprise, but they stopped, facing their sister with their arms crossed.
“When Mother fell and fused with a mother grub, she became undead. Etuuya was alive when they were merged with Lleios’s remains, integrated over multiple operations so they wouldn’t die of shock or blood loss.
I don’t have that luxury; she’s weak and unstable enough that if I fail now, I might not be able to try again and keep her mind intact.
She can’t be killed…but suffering eternally in that carcass of a body, her mind slipping more and more until she forgets us all? She might wish she was dead.” The butterfly swarm said bluntly.
Rhyssa had taken her hat off to hold it, as a gesture of respect. Gallen bowed his head to go along with her, and so he could compose himself.
Klirro was right. Tuuya was right. Everything Inshii said confirmed it.
If he could do this, even with the hell that would come of it, everything would get better.
His hands shook as Rhyssa put her hat back on.
Inshii’s face softened slightly, an unusual sight.
“Don’t worry, Gallen.” They said in a marginally warmer tone, as caring as they had been capable of since the ten had died all those sweeps ago.
“I’ve accounted for everything; I will not fail. She’ll finally be well again.”
No, they hadn’t accounted for everything. They had no idea what their little brother had in his pocket. A substance modeled from the same scientific notes Inshii had used for this project.
Another one of Rhomox Vannyn’s discoveries.
Inshii kept walking a little longer, then stopped in front of a plain gray, unmarked door, flashing their ID card at a scanner once more.
Gallen would have whistled if he could, so instead it was tuneless air blown through his lips as he walked inside, and Rhyssa herself made a softly impressed ‘aaah.’
Inshii looked a bit smug, despite their sibling’s frequent insistence that they didn’t indulge in such trollish things.
The space was vast, a tangle of pipes, vats, and scientific equipment whose names the isopod swarm couldn’t even begin to guess at. Dials all over the room glowed from within, and somewhere a machine beeped softly in long intervals.
Long hair flowing as they moved more quickly, the false seadweller walked over to the largest vat of all, one taller than their nearly eight foot height, horns aside.
Gallen knew, with a sudden surge of fear, that that was it.
Rhyssa turned completely toward it as well, the wasps she used to see beating their wings frantically as they hovered over her shoulders.
Inshii looked at the various readout screens on the vat and what they saw must’ve pleased his oldest sibling because they nodded and took out a beautiful old glass container shaped like a chrysalis. The glass shone jade and white where it was not clear.
Gallen shuddered as he saw several of his mother’s green flukes wriggling within. Just like the one that had taken over Tuuya.
Wait.
He signed a question.
Isn’t that -
“Vassiq’s work, one of the last she ever made.” Said Inshii quietly, holding the container with reverence. “One of the few we have left.”
Gallen couldn’t cry as trolls did. He had no heart.
Still he trembled, isopods pressing against his skin.
Vassiq. The fly. Dead because she’d tried to kill Ozryel with the other ten, her eggshell destroyed and her corpse burned. Dead because she’d just wanted to be free.
She’d been the best artisan of them all.
How could Inshii stand there and use their sister’s work to hold her killer?
Rhyssa was unusually still, even her wings beating slowly from the parts she used as eyes.
“Will you offer us a prayer, Gallen?” Inshii asked, solemn.
He looked at them in shock, his face rippling in surprise. Inshii had never thought much of religion.
He wished he had incense to light, an altar to kneel by by. He wished he could believe there was anything holy about what they were about to do.
Still he closed his eyes and put a hand to his chest.
He prayed Inshii was wrong, that his mother could be laid to rest after all.
He prayed whatever afterlife she went to was a kind one. A peaceful one.
He prayed his hands would not falter as he did to her what Rhomox Vannyn had done to Lleios. Wipe away the mind, leave the body behind.
Gallen hoped so hard for all of this that he hurt, and then his hand dropped from his chest. He nodded at Inshii, glad he couldn’t speak.
Rhyssa sniffed. With no tears to shed, she tugged at the band covering her wasp-filled sockets instead.
“I hope this works.” She mumbled. “It’ll be like old times. When we were all together, and everythin’ was perfect.”
Everything had never been perfect. Their siblings would still be dead. Ozryel had driven them to desperation when they were alive, had refused to listen when they’d tried to reason with her.
Gallen regretted not helping them. Not taking a side. If he had…
If he had, it probably wouldn’t have made a difference.
Nothing he’d done for his family ever had.
Inshii pressed a button, and the lid of the vat slid back with a faint sliding noise, impressively quiet for how large it was.
He could smell it now. The organic stench of nutrient-rich solution used to grow facsimile bodies.
Inshii stepped onto a ladder bolted to the side of the vat and he held up a hand. They raised their eyebrows, fins flicking.
He signed, Can I go up after you?
“Don’t be silly, Gallen.” Inshii said, tongue clicking. “There’s no space. I’ll bring her down so we can witness her awakening. It will likely take a minute or so.”
Good. That was all he needed.
He nodded to show he understood.
Inshii went up the ladder, their sherwani rippling from their movement. He - and Rhyssa - watched them intently.
What would their sibling bring down? What body had they made for Ozryel?
Though he writhed with nervousness, resignation settling heavy into his chitin, Gallen couldn’t help but be curious. He’d known her current shape for so long, it was difficult to imagine her in another.
He and his sister watched as Inshii took a fluke out of the glass container…and used their other hand - now in a rubber glove - to gently pick up a troll-shaped body. Viscous drops of amber fluid slowly dribbled off of it.
The view was partially blocked by their sibling, but Gallen could see the body’s eyes were closed, that it had long white hair and pale horns that resembled his mother’s.
They moved their arm. He could only assume they were putting the fluke in.
No noise. Nothing.
Inshii carried the body down in both arms, container put back in their sylladex, its - her - eyes still closed. She didn’t move.
Vial in his hand, Gallen lunged.
Rhyssa cried out and Inshii barked an order to stop. Neither moved quickly enough to stop him as he forced the contents down Ozryel’s throat.
Then his sister tackled him to the hard floor, snarling and buzzing as she swore and stung him over and over, ripping through his skin to the isopods beneath.
Gallen did not fight back even as dozens of his isopods thrashed and died. He lay there, letting her wound him, staring up at the pale ceiling and the dark pipes running along it.
He wondered if he was about to wake up in his eggshell, a sparse few isopods once more.
“Stop.” Inshii’s clipped voice said through his haze of pain. “Let mother handle him. The serum is working.”
Rhyssa gasped in relief and Gallen’s hopes sank in dread as he saw his mother’s pale gray fingertips moving, noticed the syringe in Inshii’s hand as they gave him a narrow-eyed violet stare.
“I don’t know why you’ve done this, but I can guess. You’ve betrayed us, gone over to Tuuya and their allies. I’d ask you why…but I don’t think I care.”
Feebly, Gallen tried to use his arms to sign an answer, but Rhyssa stung them and they collapsed into dying isopods.
His mother’s eyes flickered and opened, glowing a solid, brilliant green. Shorter than all of them, slim and almost petite, she vaulted out of her oldest child’s arms to land on the floor with a thud, her feet bare. Her only clothing was a pale teal dress, and she still dripped fluid on the floor as she stepped over to him. The pincers at the edges of her lips snapped in fury as her eyes shone with rage and delight.
“My only son.” She said, with a dry and raspy voice, different yet unmistakably familiar, unused to speaking aloud. “My last son. Why do you turn on me? The only mother you’ve ever had?”
Her tone was gently chiding, almost fond, but Gallen knew that meant nothing.
He spoke in the silent language of swarms, isopods forming shapes and symbols that all of his family read without comment.
“So misguided.” His mother said, still soft. “It isn’t your fault. You were tricked. You forget your siblings’ cruelty. They were unkind to you too.”
Gallen shook his head. She was lying. He had to remember she was lying.
Ozryel clicked her tongue.
“You’ve been very bad. You need a time-out.”
She knelt down next to him and put a hand to his chest. Right where he had when he’d prayed earlier.
Green flukes came out of her wrist, squirming over his remaining isopods to secrete liquid that dissolved him, segment by segment, leg by leg. He soundlessly screamed in agony, bereft of the tongue she had taken so long ago. The voice she’d silenced for the crime of not taking a side.
“Leave one.” Said Inshii, voice hard. “He can stay here. Otherwise who knows where he’ll go when he comes back in the cavern.”
Rhyssa snarled. “Yeah, what Shii said. We can’t let him outta our sight.”
“You don’t give me orders, children.” Murmured Ozryel in a tone of saccharine warning. “I’ll concede the butterfly is right this time. Just mind your tone, or I might think you intend to join your brother.”
Rhyssa opened her mouth, and as Gallen’s troll eyes melted away, he could see the hurt on his sister’s face before she closed it again.
In less than a minute, there was only one of him. A single white isopod, shivering as his mother picked him up in one hand. Helpless to resist her firm grip, she squeezed him so hard he nearly cracked, his legs struggling against her cold hand.
She leaned in to whisper so he could hear.
“Next time I won’t be so generous.”
His vision in this state was too poor to grasp what happened around him, but the next thing he knew, Gallen was locked in a dark, airless box with needles puncturing him all over his body.
He couldn’t move. Couldn’t see, or hear, or feel anything but pain and constriction.
The isopod prayed.
He prayed for the people he had failed so terribly.
He wished with everything he had that his mother would finally die.
—
Ozryel patted the box she had locked her son in, with a soft, needle-fanged smile, then set it aside.
Pausing, concentrating, she clenched her fists and there came a great cracking of bone, a sliding and warping of flesh as wings sprung from her back. Insectoid, yet shaped as if they were feathered, they shone with iridescent hints of rainbow color.
“Fly with me, children. We make for Hanhai.”
Rhyssa scratched her head.
“The desert? What d’ya want there? Thought we were goin’ after Tuuya and their lot.”
Inshii’s eyes also narrowed, then their expression cleared.
“Ah. Their daughter’s cavern.”
Ozryel gave her oldest child a feral smile.
“Kotenkha’s as well. One of her spawn fought me in the second worm’s body, allowing them to escape…it is long past time I gave that bloodline their due.”
The mother of swarms stepped outside the building, squinting as her eyes adjusted to the starlight she had not seen in over four thousand sweeps.
Ever since a wretched jade woman with a komondor lusus had shot her out of the sky.

I LOATHE when people be like we’re giving rep cause big bad company hoyoverse hates brown people but end up making alhaitham darker in complexion like BRUH there are a billion other characters who logically speaking ought to be darker, alhaitham is not one of them tf 😭 I literally want to make hoyo somehow make him whiter to spite all of these fools who don’t even know how Arabs look which is a key trend I’ve been noticing. Nothing grinds my gears more than ignorance that is just so widespread and DEFENDED like its fact … you all are insanely stupid istg 😭
If you want someone to be darker there are actually so many other characters who’s cultures they are based off of are predominantly darker one major example is nahida, another one nobody talks abt is kaveh like hellooo ??? 😭 I promise you no Persian is blond or that pale … sure they can be quite pale but not to this extent 😭 anyways I still love kaveh my cutie forreal 🤧 but yeah this pisses me off bc ppl trying to act in our favour for the sake of rep are actively erasing it and focusing on the wrong characters.
If you took two seconds to research what the fuck Arab ppl look like you’d know but again you all are fake activists who just wanna be mad for no reason 😭 anyways … if you DO want rep for alhaitham my biggest critique is his clothes. That’s it. The grey hair is silly but idk there’s charas with pink hair I think we’re fine 😭 but this issue cannot be resolved if every single artwork of alhaithams having his non canon clothes is a what I think is called a sherwani? I’m not too sure but it makes me so sad like yeah it looks super cool but he’s not from there … and the fact that those artworks majorly outnumber the Arab wear outfits ppl draw him in srsly makes me so sad.
Like in 2 years of his existence I have only seen like 3 designs where he’s actually wearing Arab clothing and every other design is not. Pissing me off fr i really think none of you guys know what Arabs look like OR wear and cannot be bothered to research even one second. It’s disrespectful bc you’re mashing two unique cultures and making it out to be a single culture. That’s so disrespectful to Arab and desi cultures and that is literally how orientalism starts out are you guys daft 💁♀️ like nahida would look so pretty in classic desi wear yet you focus on alhaitham 😭 what the heck.
I only have a gripe with this topic because I hate when people act like they know something and they don’t, and more so I hate it when people act like they know the truth and spread said falsehoods to everyone when they know nothing 🧍♀️I hate idiots and it’s genuinely like people are allergic to educating themselves.
