How To Get C5 Framing Contractor License In California
Getting a C5 Framing Contractor License in California can help boost your career in construction. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old, have a Social Security Number or an ITIN, and have four years of experience working independently in framing and rough carpentry.
Start by preparing your application. At Contractors Intelligence School, we guide you through every step—from completing forms to scheduling your exams. Once your application is processed by the Contractor State Licensing Board (CSLB), you will be allowed to schedule your exams.
You must pass the Law and Business Exam and the Trade Exam. The Law and Business Exam covers general business topics like contracts and employment laws. The Trade Exam focuses on framing and carpentry skills. Both exams have multiple-choice questions.
Our courses at Contractors Intelligence School make it easy for you to prepare. We offer video lessons, reading materials, and practice tests. You can even use our mobile app to study on the go.
After passing both exams, you’ll need to complete some final paperwork to get your license number. Once you have your C5 license, you can start your contracting business and take on new projects.
