[Ahh how long has it been since I posted sad headcanons - ]

Kaze's trauma, mental illness, and coping mechanisms

[As we know he's been through so much during his life, even before the destruction of Windaria at the hands of Chaos. Of course, he was attached to his world - who wouldn't be? It was all he ever knew, the only reality he had - but his story had been a tragic tale from the very start. Born a freak, he was shunned by society, until an opportunity arose to prove himself to a recruiting Wind Warrior and become a trainee. Thanks to his natural talent and affinity for magic, he rose from a lowly soldier to a summoner apprentice - and eventually, prodigy that he was, leader of his clan, Wind Warrior general and the chosen of Magun.]

[What are the factors that shape his personality, and cause him to act as strangely as he does? What is the long tale and damage of the human-Weapon hybrid that is the man known as Black Wind?]

[The love present in his life had always been conditional. Black Wind never knew his parents, his caretaker died when he was very young and he spent a good portion of his childhood battling for survival on the streets in one of the lower desert cities. His environment was hostile - not only due to the fact he was an orphan, but also since his hair color was thought to be cursed and indicative of a harbinger of future disaster. Kaze had always been proud and defiant, and his current hairstyle results from the fact he never chose to cut his hair in defiance of the ridiculous fairy tale (which turned out to be, ironically, correct) The fact of him being accepted by the Wind Warrior caste was solely due to his natural ability and grit - his new family was one of fighters who tolerated no weakness. As such, Kaze has been taught (and forced) to keep all of his feelings to himself, all his life. Never once was he allowed to cry openly - until he met Aura, with whom he developed a deep bond. As life seemed to loathe Kaze, their relationship turned out wrong as they discovered they were, in fact, siblings. Their bond was reshaped into a familial one, and miraculously strengthened, for they both had seen the ugly side of fate. Aura - and to a lesser extent Moogle Kupo, his Soil Missionary partner (who trained under Kaze, therefore was less likely at first) - were the only people to see the more vulnerable side of the Unlimited.]

[Black Wind is by nature an ambitious person. Without ambition (and ironically, considering his generally unlucky life, unparalleled luck), he would never have been able to pull himself up by his bootstraps and secure the position he held in the Warriors caste. Eventually, he was selected to wield the Magun, which brought with it the breaking of a promise he had made to Aura to continue to live peacefully together, and extreme guilt. As the champion of the Gun Beast, he was further dehumanized. Some sort of sacred idol of summoners, there was no place to express human flaws or weakness. Not like there had ever been any socially acceptable way to do so in the first place.]

[The destruction of Windaria was his greatest failure. Even with the power of the Magun, he could not stop Chaos. Having lost everything he loved, he became even more bitter, and most of what fuels him is spite and rage. This brings us to actually discussing Kaze's mental illness and coping mechanisms. How does a man this thoroughly broken handle his newly acquired quest, when any normal person's life would have ended during the events that transpired?]

[It is difficult to discuss "neurodivergency" in what is essentially an alien race and culture that appears human, but due to both genetic and environmental factors, he is extremely emotionally isolated, unused to casual friendship and, taking into account his history, uncomfortable and distrustful around people in general. This manifests in the guarded persona he exhibits and a refusal to disclose seemingly any details about himself. Even during his time with the Wind Warriors, Kaze was particularly reserved, with Moogle Kupo often acting as his diplomatic voice whenever he lacked the patience to deal with others.]

[The Wind cult's culture abhorred weakness. The only instances where Kaze was ever able to vent in any capacity was with Aura - and it was understandably difficult to a man who could never do so before. With her, he experienced the beginning of a healing that was cruelly ripped away when Chaos descended. As the Unlimited Demon Gunman especially, he exhibits less and less outward emotion and actively dehumanizes himself. Kaze believes himself to be the Weapon and his old persona to be secondary to his calling. As such, he rarely speaks of anything to do with his past and guards any semblance of vulnerability fiercely.]

[He does not want to believe that the Weapon that he is can be capable of breaking and failing emotionally, for it is still partially human. This has caused him to develop unhealthy coping mechanisms.]

[Kaze suffers from bouts of dissociation and derealization tied to his PTSD, as well as the occasional psychotic breakdowns that manifest in vivid hallucinations. He is unable to receive treatment for various reasons, and medication is unlikely to stay and work in his altered blood (not that he would agree to take any.) He is still unable to properly unpack his trauma and express his emotions - during his breakdowns, caused sometimes by specific triggers (hand holding and blue flowers of a certain shape, especially bioluminescent) he may cry and act erratically, or shut down completely. When the episode ends, he seems not to remember it occurring or remembers it very hazily. This is because Kaze actively represses his human weakness and rejects it as something he is allowed to express outwardly. Even as a Soil mage, who understands emotion as part of spiritual flow of nature, he feels trapped in his own mind, wounded by his upbringing and Chaos alike.]

[Kaze is very mentally ill and won't speak of it. He harbors a great deal of negative emotion which fuels Chaos, which causes him to loathe his predicament and perpetuates the downward spiral. Fearing the possibility of being possessed by Chaos once again, he suffers visions of the blue flowers of Gaudium growing inside his body and feasting on his own hatred. As an extremely tormented soul, he focuses his toxicity on White Cloud even as they work together. He is angry, difficult, and distant, but ultimately tries to be a good person. He wishes for nothing more than to overcome the Chaos within, but being unable to, he settles for weaponizing his rage instead the best he can. In the end, he's locked in a self-perpetuating nightmare without escape. Even though there may be no escape from his fate, there is still a possibility of healing and improvement, but achieving such is a long and rocky road that he is afraid to travel. He has more important things to do, after all - hunting Chaos.]

TIMELINE.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Freshman Year

-DECEMBER OF 2015 -Gains his powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider during a class trip to Doctor Curt Connors’ lab in Empire State University. -Spends the Christmas Break discovering and learning about his abilities, makes his First Suit out of some old pajamas.

-JANUARY 2016

-Being a kid and wanting to make a quick buck with his abilities, he enters a wrestling competition against Crusher Hogan.

-It’s the classic wrestling origin. Peter gets swindled out of money, a burglar steals money from the fight manager, Peter lets the Burglar go out of anger and spite for the manager. -Uncle Ben is murdered, Peter goes after the assailant and is horrified to discover it is the same Burglar he had let go earlier. -When you do the things that I can, but you don’t, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you. -Guilt stricken, he realizes the importance of Power and Responsibility and starts to fight crime, initially stopping small crimes, petty robberies, etc.

MARCH TO JUNE 2016:

-Rumors of an Insectoid-Man spread quickly throughout the underworld, it is initially believed to be a Lie made by crooks who want to dodge blame, but more and more YouTube videos of a man in a red and blue pajamas doing extraordinary feats quickly kills that possibility. -At the recommendation of his teachers, Peter starts interning at Connors’ Lab in ESU, it allows him to get a closer look at the kind of spiders that bit him, and leads him to discover that the irradiated spiders are a project Connors is working on under the funding of Oscorp. -During his crime fighting, he unknowingly halts several of The Big Man’s jobs. -Frequently swings into and stops the crimes of Alex O’Hirn and Flint Marko. -He runs into his first Out of the Ordinary Bad Guy when he ends up fighting Stilt-Man, instead of going for his legs he just punches him out cold.

CIVIL WAR INCIDENT - JUNE 26TH 2016

This is where the first of the several big canon rewrites comes in. For starters, the Airport Fight happens in New York instead of Germany, and Tony does not recruit Peter for his cause or give him the new suit. What happens is as follows,

-Peter sees the news of The Winter Soldier’s attack on United Nations. ( For the purposes of this rewrite, let’s say Bucky gets extradited to the U.S. for interrogation and trial and he is held in the same SHIELD base Steve woke up from his coma or whatever ) -Peter and Ned argue about Spider-Man not going for Stilt-Man’s legs during their fight. -Hearing the news of JFK suddenly closing down and rumors of people spotting ‘Very Serious Government People’ , Peter puts the two and two together and leaves abruptly, heading to the Airport in hopes of ‘Auditioning’ for the Avengers, because that’s what you do when you are a 15 year old with superpowers. -Beginning of the airport fight and Steve and Tony’s argument happens the same, majority of the fight happens the same way. -Peter, as Spider-Man, jumps into the fray during the Line Up. He immediately swings to Tony’s side because Iron Man is the hero he idolizes the most at that point in time. -Tony and Peter banter, with Tony not wanting a kid there and Peter being a dumbass kid and wanting to impress Tony. -Peter does not fight Steve, he is only there to take down Bucky and Prove His Mettle as a superhero. -The entire sequence with Bucky and Sam versus Spidey happens as shown. -Seeing Giant-Man appear and grumbling himself about the whole Stilt-Man argument still, Peter realizes he can go for Scott’s legs to take him down and does the whole AT-AT takedown move. -Gets knocked back onto the ground like in the movie, Tony goes to check on him to make sure this dumbass kid didn’t get himself killed, seeing he is alive and well, Tony is impressed but he tells Peter to go home. -Bedroom scene occurs as a post-credits scene, it becomes less about Tony recruiting Peter to his side and more about figuring out what the deal with this Spider-Man Kid is, leaves the suitcase with the Stark Suit as he leaves, says they’ll be in touch.

HOMECOMING - END OF AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 23RD 2016 / SOPHOMORE YEAR

-Peter turns sixteen in August 10th. -The movie happens largely the same -a Film by Peter Parker and the Limo Conversation naturally doesn’t happen considering the afromentioned changes to Civil War. -Tony does not save Peter from drowning, Peter gets out of the lake on his own. Reason for this change is that this scene makes Tony way controlling and uncaring towards Peter? Which, compounded by the following scenes, really paints Tony in an awful light. It also makes it more impactful that the next time, and thus the first time, Peter properly interacts with Tony since Civil War is in the direct aftermath of the Ferry Fiasco when Tony comes to collect the suit. They are then both valid in their arguments in that Peter has let the Stark Suit’s abilities get to his head and act way reckless than he should, ( Stark Suit thus serving the same narrative purpose as the Symbiote Suit ) but it also makes Peter valid in that Tony has been completely ignoring Peter ( at least on the surface / from Peter’s point of view ) until it was too late. -Rest of the movie unfolds as shown. -Toomes is Peter’s first proper Super Villain.

OCTOBER 2016 - MAY 2017

-Toomes’ arrest causes his Alien Weapons empire to fracture and for alien tech to be more readily available to the highest bidder ( In the movie it seems like Toomes really wanted the sales to be more gradual and under the radar ) -Shocker breaks away from Toomes’ crew and ends up joining the Enforcers, working for Hammerhead, who works as the Right Hand Man for The Big Man. -Spidey’s encounters with the Enforcers leads Peter to learn about the existence of The Big Man. -Phineas Mason is still at large, Peter dubs him ‘ The Tinkerer behind Toomes ’ toys ’ because he does not directly know who he is but highly suspects his existence. -A Mysterious Benefactor starts bankrolling experiments for Super Mercs, armed with the alien tech, with the, initial, goal of ‘distracting’ Spider-Man from the Finer details of The Big Man’s organization (if he’s too busy fighting Super Villains, he’d be too busy to stop Illegal Shipments ya kno). -Alex O’Hirn undergoes the procedure to become the Rhino, having the experimental alien armor fused to his skin, and only able to perspirate through his face. It is due to this fact Peter manages to take him down the first time, ‘ overheating ’ him to get him to pass out. -During this incident, Spidey gets Rhino to spill the identity of the Big Man, one L. Thompson Lincoln, aka Tombstone. -It is also during this time Spidey has his first run-in with Captain George Stacy. -He goes to visit Tombstone to tell him he knows about him, promptly gets his ass kicked and high-thwips it out of there.

THANOS INCIDENT - MAY 2017

Welcome to the Big Canon Rewrite Number Two, here, Peter does not go to Titan. First part of his appearance happens as shown, with Peter seeing the giant Q ship up in the sky and sneaking out of the bus to help Tony and co. fight the Aliens, but after losing Strange to the ship’s tractor beam, he stays on Earth and helps with the clean-up in the aftermath. Maybe even bumping into a few Defenders while doing so wink wink nudge. As a result, he does not get the Iron Spider-Man suit, sorry Marvel’s toy department.

ENDGAME - DATE UNKNOWN

Okay here’s the deal, it literally does not matter how long it has been since they’ve been blipped. Literally anyone important to a plot has been Conveniently Snapped, only reason there is a five year jump is so they can age Cassie so she can become Stature in Ant Man 3, and have Tony have a family for the Drama of it. Literally that’s the only reason, there is a reason why Far From Home makes a joke out of it. So for the purposes of sanity, let’s just say they were snapped throughout the duration of the summer and they conveniently get brought back at the beginning of the school year. -This means Peter is a part of the Final Fight but in his Stark Suit instead of the Iron Spidey suit, he also does not activate Instant Kill (why the FUCK would he, Russos!!!!!) I don’t care either way about the hug, so that’s up in the air, but he definitely does not cling onto Tony’s body lmfao nah. It is nevertheless very upsetting and near-traumatic for him to see someone die in front of him (again!)

JUNIOR YEAR

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2017

-Peter is now seventeen. -And he’s got PTSD like a motherfucker lmfao. -Getting turned into dust and coming back has everyone rattled, so the Criminal Underworld is working overtime. - Captain Stacy comes to Midtown to teach about Criminology, and also to keep an eye on his kid considering the circumstances. -Silvio ‘Silvermane’ Manfredi, head of the Maggia, is also due to be released on parole by the end of the year, so various Mob factions are trying to prepare themselves. -As a result, schematics to make more Rhino-like people hit the market, Spidey and O’Hirn actually end up teaming-up together to destroy the schematics, resulting in a three way fight between them, Hammerhead, and the Manfredi mob. -Hammerhead’s recent repeated failures shakes Tombstone’s faith in him. -The Enforcers get fancy schmancy Combat Enhancement Suits, courtesy of The Tinkerer, and Spidey has to deal with them. -Hammerhead stops the Enforcers’ getaway attempt in secret, signaling a rift between him and Tombstone. -Manfredi is released right before Christmas.

JANUARY 2018

-The Gang War(tm) begins in full force. -Spidey’s hands are full navigating the powder keg of a situation, with Tombstone and Manfredi vying for control, with Hammerhead planning something behind the scenes.

FEBRUARY 14TH 2018 -Hammerhead arranges a meeting of the factions in Metropolitan Opera House, without Tombstone’s knowledge. -Once revealed, Tombstone does not take kindly to this disobedience. -Hammerhead reaches his breaking point and attacks Tombstone. -Silvermane decides to take both of them out to eliminate the competition fully. -Silvermane, in a mechanical combat suit of his own (because comics bebey) attacks Tombstone and Hammerhead, resulting in a three way fight. -Spidey arrives and has to fight the three of them. -After a long and exhausting battle, Spidey prevails, Silvermane is arrested once again, L. Thompson Lincoln is publicly revealed to be The Big Man of Crime, and Hammerhead is nowhere to be found. -Tombstone posts bail, but Captain Stacy tells Spidey that his crime empire is crippled and there is a power vacuum. One that a certain Wilson Fisk will take advantage of soon.

LATE FEBRUARY - JUNE 2018

-Spidey is basically doing clean-up duty in the aftermath of the Gang War(tm) -He is trying to find where Hammerhead is, but comes up empty. -All Spidey can find are the rumors that he went back to his old employment under the Maggia. -He takes down last of the known Manfredi fronts before preparing for his Europe trip (it’s the restaurant fight from the FFH trailers)

FAR FROM HOME - JUNE 2018 -Happens largely the way it is depicted in the movie -He does not have the Iron Spider Suit still, in case you forgot. -Smaller differences being Peter being pegged the ‘New Iron Man’ less because of his ‘Mentorship’ under Tony and more because people are just fucking desperate for a new Big Hero, which is where Mysterio comes in. -He sees Ben’s grave instead of Tony’s during the Mysterio Fun Tour of Trauma, Zombie Iron Man still comes out of it tho because Symbolism ( not because Tony is a new Uncle Ben figure, but because it represents Peter not always being able to save everyone, even though Tony’s condition was out of his hands.) -BIGGEST DIVERGENCE: Unless plotted, I generally DO NOT recognize Peter’s identity being outed. There are two options / variations I could go with -Peter IS claimed to be Spider-Man, but after a Movie’s worth of adventures, he enlists the help of either a skrull or Chameleon (Dmitri the Bus Driver in FFH) to have Spidey appear in the same room as Peter and re-establishes his secret identity. -Mysterio just brands Spider-Man as a menace and that’s that. In any case, this leads to..

SENIOR YEAR

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2018

-Peter turns eighteen. -Branded as a menace, Spider-Man is now disliked and hunted by most authorities. -Captain Stacy, however, does not believe Mysterio and is one of Spidey’s few friends still left in the police force. -He also makes numerous remarks towards Peter and Spider-Man that suggests he figured out his secret identity on his own. -Anastasia Kravinoff arrives in New York with the intention of Hunting Spider-Man. -At the same time, Mac Gargan is hired by The Mysterious Benefactor to undergo the Super Merc procedure to hunt Spider-Man. -Kraven has her first encounter with Spidey, in which she manages to tear off a piece of his suit that she later uses to track his scent. -Mr Harrington’s class trip to Bronx Zoo is promptly ruined when Kraven shows up tracking Spidey’s trail. -The publicized skirmish in the Zoo attracts the attention of Gargan, now in a mechanical suit with a long, poison-tipped tail, stylized after Gargan’s favorite arthropod, which easily earns him the nickname ‘Scorpion’. -Spidey manages to escape, but barely. -It all comes to a head in New York Botanical Garden is a totally epic final showdown. -Maybe Rhino gets involved too and it’s a full on Survival of the Fittest in the jungle. -Peter gets stung by the poison tail but manages to shake it off. -He gets speared in the thigh at least once during the battle. -Scorpion and Rhino get imprisoned in the Vault, Kravinoff gets arrested as well but she posts bail and gets out scot free because she’s got Powerful Connections(tm)

JANUARY - MAY 2019

-Doctor Connors achieves a breakthrough on his Cross-Species formula -He tests it on himself, and initially achieves great results by regrowing his arm. -Over the following weeks, however, more and more side effects start to show by patches of green scales on his skin, increased aggression and hostility and occasional lapses in intelligence. -Around March, he has his first Lizard transformation. -Peter suspects it’s Connors, but he does not figure it out until April. -With each transformation, Connors stays as Lizard longer and longer. -I am basically ripping off the plot of the first TASM movie. -Peter and Gwen manage to synthesize an antidote. -Connors has a similar goal as to his movie counterpart, but he decides to Unleash the Lizard virus on top of Empire State Building. Because a) King Kong reference with Lizard climbing the antenna, and b) Connor going from Empire State University to Empire State Building, it’s a fun progression. -Spidey and Lizard fight on top of Empire State, with George Stacy coming to Spidey’s aid. -Spidey manages to administer the antidote to the Lizard, reverting him back to Connors who retains no memories of his actions as the Lizard. -Stacy gets injured by Lizard and before succumbing to his injuries, tells Peter to keep Gwen safe and ‘out of it’. -Lizard’s true identity remains unknown to the public, but Connors decides to relocate his family to Florida to get away from the noise of the city. Before leaving, he tells Peter to seek out his old colleague Otto Octavius if he wants to further his studies.

END OF MAY 2019

-Peter Parker graduates Midtown School of Science and Technology. -He applies and is accepted by Empire State University. Peter does not consider any other college as he wants to stay in New York for obvious reasons.

FRESHMAN UNDERGRAD

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2019

-Peter is nineteen. -He starts his studies in ESU -He is still not the Most Popular -Peter reconnects with Harry Osborn (they are Old Childhood friends and Harry used to be in Midtown for the first year but then he went to Europe, as you do.) -Spidey is still branded as a menace and hunted, though not as ferociously as before as the public’s opinion starts to turn positive ever so slowly. -The Mysterious Benefactor has Alistair Smythe build robotic spiders to hunt and slay the Spider. Like Spider Slayers. Catchy name huh. -Peter has various encounters with Slayers while trying to figure out who is behind them -He eventually discovers it’s Alistair Smythe and tracks him to Oscorp. -Smythe unleashes the Ultimate Spider-Slayer, The Black Widow to try and stop Spidey once and for all. -Fight spills to the power plant, an Oscorp employee who is currently working on the plant, Max Dillon, gets caught in the crossfire and gets electrocuted. -Spidey manages to take down Smythe, Dillon is hospitalized. -Norman Osborn publicly denounces and distances himself from Smythe ( he’s The Mysterious Benefactor if you haven’t caught on yet ) -Norman profits both from making Super Mercs and Spider-Hunters for various factions behind the scenes, and for building housing units to hold said Super Mercs and Spider-Hunters, Vault is his creation. -He is also a terrible dad, but he does genuinely care for Harry, go figure. -Harry starts taking Gloublin Green, an experimental enhancer, to boost his academic and athletic life, as his body is regularly failing due to a hereditary disease (NOT the Goblin disease, the one Harry’s mom had in the PS4 game) -Max spends Christmas in the hospital and gradually transforms into Electro. -Black Cat drops in to give her Christmas Greetings by saying the mob is salvaging the parts from Spider-Slayer fights to re-arm themselves, also notifies him to the existence of a new Big Man consolidating power. -Peter thinks it’s Hammerhead, the only loose end from the previous Gang War, and starts his investigation into him. -Peter discovers Hammerhead leads the Maggia now, having quickly climbed through the ranks after the fallout of the last Gang War.

JANUARY - MAY 2020

-Harry joins the ESU football team, his performance enhanced by The Green. -Electro is Born and he’s Angry -He blames Smythe for his condition and tries to attack Oscorp, not knowing that Smythe is imprisoned. -Spidey arrives and fights him, fight eventually spilling to Times Square -Is it obvious I’ve started ripping off TASM 2 yet or.... -Electro is arrested and sent to Ravencroft for rehabilitation. -The news of a new Big Man starts making the rounds. -Harry’s Green Juicing gets bad, he starts blacking out.

SOPHOMORE UNDERGRAD

SEPTEMBER - DECEMBER 2020

-Peter is twenty. -He starts interning for Otto Octavius after Doctor Connors’ suggestion. -Flint Marko returns after a long absence in the streets, Spidey learns that Marko left the life of crime when he fell in love and got married, but returned back into it once he learned his baby was born with a disease and he needed the money for surgery. -Bet you didn’t expect me to rip off Raimi in this. -Marko is offered money to undergo a Super Merc experiment of his own, inspired by the Elementals Mysterio faked back a few years ago. Experiment uses bio-electricity generated by Electro, but it goes ‘wrong’ and Marko is turned to dust. -Sike he can control it, he’s Sandman now. -Spidey and Sandman fight, once Peter learns of his motives, he tries to get him to stop. -Marko is told to stop the movement of an oil tanker so the new Big Man can siphon it dry. -Spidey and Marko fight on the tanker, tanker explodes, Marko expresses remorse for he only wanted the money and not to hurt anyone, so he helps usher the ship crew to safety and contains the explosion, turning into glass due to the heat. -Sandman is presumed deceased, but he survived and just blew away gently in the wind. -Maybe he’s out there somewhere who knows.

JANUARY - MAY 2021 -Norman discovers Harry’s Green Usage, he gets Harry to stop. -Stupid boy drinking the Green instead of inhaling it like his dad did I mean what -Harry discovers the Green exacerbated the progression of his illness. -Spidey meets Yuri Watanabe, who is the lead detective and later Captain who is after the Big Man and the Mob. -Peter discovers the identity of the actual new Big Man, it’s Wilson Fisk, quickly filling the power vacuum after Tombstone’s defeat. -Spidey and Fisk fight, with Fisk seriously injuring Spidey and him having to swing away.

JUNIOR UNDERGRAD

September - December 2021

-Peter is twenty one. -As Harry’s illness progresses more and more, he and Peter’s friendship is strained, Peter is unaware of the illness. -Norman starts winding down Super Merc experiments as he turns his focus into curing Harry. -He also readies for a mayoral run because he’s nothing if not a multitasker. -Harry wonders if Spider-Man’s abilities can cure him, wants a bit of his blood, Spidey is like ‘ew no wtf’ -Great Harry hates Spidey now. -Desperate, Harry springs Electro out of Ravencroft to sic him on Spidey and make him bleed. -Electro is like ‘Sure’ but once freed, he immediately goes to the Vault to try and kill Smythe. -You just can’t trust bio-electrical beings nowadays. -Spidey fights Electro in the Vault. -Electro cuts the power to the Vault and releases a bunch of inmates, but Spidey stops him before he can cut the power that holds the more super powered inmates. -Electro is imprisoned in the Vault.

MARCH - MAY 2020 -Yeah Peter had a quiet winter for once can you believe it. -Norman is elected mayor of New York, using his role in the building of the Vault to boost his approval ratings, motherfucker was playing the Long Game. -Norman revives his old genetic experiments to find a cure for Harry. -Devil’s Breath experiment is resurrected. -Harry’s condition worsens, Norman decides to send him to ‘Europe’ to heal. -In truth, Harry is in Oscorp in ‘stasis’. -Spidey’s attention turns yet again to the rising gang activity, he channels his focus into taking down Fisk.

SENIOR UNDERGRAD

SEPTEMBER 2020 - MAY 2021

-Pete turns twenty two. -He spends most of the year working on his thesis like a good nerd. -Spidey is occasionally tipped toward Fisk fronts by a Mysterious Goblinafactor -Norman wanted to bust into the Crime Scene being the Goblin and taking over the Big Man’s turfs but Fisk beat him to it so he has to be content with just being the Mayor for the time being -Goblins am I right. -He’s also the one who supplied Silvermane with his own armor. -Also the one who maaaay have broadened the rift between Hammerhead and Tombstone by sabotaging Hammerhead’s plans behind the scenes. -He is the Big Man behind the Big Men if you will. -Anyway back to Peter -Turns in his thesis, graduates ESU. Strength of his thesis is what convinces Otto to have Peter also come into work with him in the Brand New Octavius Industries. -Norman is content to just play the Mayor and let Fisk be as Spidey and Yuri gather more and more evidence.

POST-GRAD / INSOMNIAC’S SPIDEY STUFF -Events of the game happen broadly the same -Fisk is taken down, Mister Negative enters the scene, Devil’s Breath Incident happens and Spidey gets his ass thoroughly kicked by Sable, etc. etc. -Otto turns into Ock. -Ock facilitates the Vault Breakdown (MCU got a Raft up and running and it ain’t in NYC sooo, Vault it is) and forms the Sinister Six. -However instead of Vulture being part of the Sinister Six, it’s Kraven. She’s back for a proper rematch. -Unless plotted, May does not die from exposure to the virus, she just gets really messed up and hospitalized, but she gets cured later. -Events of the DLC happen largely as shown as well, Hammerhead techs himself up, Yuri goes Wraith, Sable kicks Spidey’s ass again but also grows a Heart. Aw. -Osborn resigns in disgrace, but as luck would have it, Fisk and Li’s arrest leaves a nice Goblin-shaped hole in the criminal underworld for Gosborn to fill. -Norman discovers Harry’s ‘cure’ is sorta sentient.

WILL GORMAN GOSBORN FINALLY FACE OFF WITH SPIDER MAN? WILL SPIDEY LEARN THE REAL MASTERMIND BEHIND EVERYTHING? WILL HARRY GET GOOPED? WILL PETER FINALLY DISCOVER WHY KIDS LOVE THE TASTE OF CAP’N CRUNCH?

Letters

This again but in an easier way :)

The Voltron crew considered themselves fairly close knit as a team. They always seemed to know what each other needed and when. There was one exception to that: one who they could never quite figure out.

Lance McClain.

The blue paladin was always seemingly happy, however the only paladin who seemed to have a grasp on what he needed was the yellow paladin. His name was Hunk, and he had been his best friend since before elementary.

As of late, Lance seemed more chipper than usual. It was to the point of it being almost concerning if not for the fact that he kept telling them he was alright and that he was just in a good mood.

The week went by like that; the team worrying about Lance, Lance seemingly as bright as the sun, and fighting the Galra.

What they did not expect was a deafening scream, Lance smiling as they arrived at the blood riddled scene, and Lance on the ground being held by his teammates before everything went black, rasping out one final word to his team and family.

“When you get back, go to my room. Read the letters.”

Soon after he was gone, his lifeless body being carried back to Lance’s room.

They each had a letter written for them. The paladins, Coran and Allura, and then an extra for all of them. There were letters for his family back on earth as well. One for each individual family member, and then another directed towards the entire family.

The date that Lance had written them was only a week prior to the mission they just had.

Everyone read out their individual letters before they moved on to the group one.

They started with their leader; the one and only black paladin Shiro.

“Shiro,

If you’re reading this, I’m no longer alive. Hopefully it was in a heroic way, that way my family can be proud of me.

You’re my idol. You always have been and always will be, even if you never acknowledged me or anything I did to make you think of me as something.. anything other than just a boy from Cuba, just the blue paladin, just Lance. Annoying jokester Lance.

There are a lot of things I should’ve said to you, a lot of times I wish I had tried to talk to you more. Sometimes I actually did, but because I wasn’t strong enough, the minute you turned me down or told me to stop fooling around, I gave up. Why set yourself up for failure, right?

I didn’t have the confidence to stand up to you, or try stand alongside you with the rest.

The one thing I ask that you do while I’m gone to not grieve over me for long. You have more important things to do, Shiro. We both know this, and I’m not worth taking your time anyways. Find a new paladin for my girl as soon as you can, I don’t want her to be lonely for long either.

Try to talk to the rest of the team besides just Pidge, Keith, and Allura. Even if you don’t think so, you all need to bond and not just with your lion, but as a team and a family. While I may not be there for this, I said nothing because I felt like you’d be able to do it easier that way, so I’m bringing it up now. I also didn’t want any of you having to hear about all my insecurities and self deprecation. I didn’t want you to have to explore the deepest parts of my mind with the melder. I was used to it.. to my thoughts. You guys wouldn’t be and I didn’t want to do that to you.

You were always trying your best, Shiro, and I admired you for that. Keep doing that. Talk about your PTSD, get help for it, and re-think some of your attack strategies sometimes. They actually had quite a few fallout holes, so think back and find them.

Next was the ray of sunshine, yellow paladin and baker extraordinaire, Hunk.

“My main man, Hunk,

I’m dead, obviously, but don’t worry much. I know you’ll move on eventually. You knew the most about me and were always there for me. You always knew what I needed and when, and for that alone I thank you.

You are such a great engineer and were so smart I was honestly always questioning how someone as intelligent and skilled as you could be friends with a dumb flirt like me, yet you stayed anyways. Even after I tried to distance from you when we were 13, you were still there. At the time I was going through a lot family and self discovery wise, and you put up with all my angsty writing, singing (while in key it was still to MCR), distancing, and tears. I can’t thank you enough for being there for me through that… and for baking me those cookies, god bless you.

At 17 you talked me out of suicide and helped me stop self harming, so since then I’d been clean for a long time and I have you to thank for it.

If you decided to read these out loud then I grant you my beyond the grave permission to tell all the 13 year old Lance stories, especially to Pidge, the one with the leather hat and penny was funny, especially after I was in the hospital with a broken leg.

My last request for you is to take care of everyone else for me. Make sure they’re eating and sleeping, make them good food, and take care of yourself as well or I will come back and haunt you all for it. Don’t test me.

This has been my letter to you. I love you, Hunk. You were the closest person to my earth family I had. You were a great platonic, I trust that you can find someone greater than me to be your next (maybe Shay, I give her my blessing, you ace teddy bear).

Next letter read was to tech genius and best little sister ever, Pidge.

“Pidgeon,

I will miss you so much. You are so smart and I’m certain that you will be able to find your actual big brother, and a better teammate than me soon.

You are and always will be more intelligent and technologically skilled than I could have tried to be had I still been alive.

Whether or not you noticed why I was so happy this past week is your decision to explain now, if not then wait until the group letter.

My last request for you is to tell Matt about me when you find him, and your dad, and make sure you at least eat something at night if you’re going to be awake working on stuff. I know you read Hunk’s letter, so I will haunt you if you don’t do that much on your own for me.

You were the closest person to my little sister Cas back on earth: sarcastic, sleep deprived, smart, and skilled. Be well, Pidgeon. I know you can do it.

Next to be read out, shakily and with some tears, the letter of the red paladin Keith.

“Keith,

First off I just want to apologise for every time I called you Keef, Queef, and Quiche behind your back.

Secondly, I know I’m dead so this is a dick move, but I loved you. I loved you so much, more than as a friend. Ask Hunk, I pined for you so hard he had to bribe me with cookies once to keep me quiet. Despite how annoying I was to you and that dumb rivalry I forced on you due to my insecurities and not realising that I didn’t hate you but the exact opposite, I loved you and I wish I could’ve told you that sooner. Maybe then I’d still be alive, but the thing that stopped me was how whenever I flirted with you, training or otherwise, you just thought I was joking and that hurt a lot. I figured you weren’t interested at all.

Third, my last request for you is to find someone who will love you as much as or more than I did. I want you to find someone who will make you feel loved and worthy of it all, since I couldn’t. A couple of weeks before my death, we were getting along quite well, and then word of this big mission came up. The week prior you were too on edge to tolerate me, so I guess that was fun while it lasted. Talk more with Pidge and Hunk, they’re good people once you get to know them, and even better friends.

I love you, Keith.

-Lance”

The last two were princess and soon to be queen of Altea, Allura, and the most gorgeous man, space uncle Coran.

“Princess Allura,

I’m starting with you first in this letter. You are brave, fearless, could probably bench press both me and the sun with one hand, and more elegant and graceful than any queen I’ve known. You’ll be a great leader, a good queen, and I believe you’ll be able to find out what your one problem is. You treat your paladins as just paladins. Remember that my friends are all so young, and one is in space with PTSD, fighting the very thing that gave him it, so please think about that from time to time and give them days to just rest. Pidge is only 14 years old, think about that. She’s only a child.

I feel like we could’ve gotten along better if maybe I didn’t make so many passes at you. Sorry for that, I was just dealing with some stuff. Ask the mice about my skin care routine, I think you’d like trying it every now and then, it made me feel that much better in the ship.

My last request for you is to be aware that not all Galra aren’t out to carry Zarkons legacy. Take Keith, for example. The only ones you have to kill are Zarkon, and any of his successors that try to follow his footsteps. Destroying their entire race for revenge wouldn’t make you any different than Zarkon, being he did just that to your people. There are Galra children out there that most likely want nothing to do with the guy and his tyranny, be aware of that. There are better ways to rid the Galra of bad people, and make it a safer space for the ones that don’t want to be involved.

Take care, and know I’ve already told Blue everything I want her to hear, so even if I was just a placeholder, give her a bit to grieve over me. I like to think I was at least a decent friend to her, and then find her someone that will clean her well and talk to her and bond with her.

Coran Coran the gorgeous man,

Next part of this goes out to you, the best space uncle around. You never really did anything wrong to me and you reminded me so much of my father back on earth that died when I was 16 that it hurt sometimes to talk to you, but I still appreciated our time together. Cleaning the pods was fun.

I was your favourite paladin and the only one you called by their name, and you told me more stories and facts about Altea that I could ever try to remember, but that one about you and Alfor as teenagers was one I’ll take with me to the afterlife.

While you didn’t really understand my homesickness since it was so different from yours, I still appreciate every time you sat with me in the observatory and listened to me talk about the sea, and distracted me by talking about the acid raid on Altea, so thank you.

My last request for you is to give the sweaters I knitted for you all to everyone, wear them while you listen to the CD I left in there. I sing each of your favourite songs while playing a space guitar, one about me that I feel described me well, and one for all of us as a team.

You were the best space uncle I could ask for, Coran. Thank you.

The last letter, read aloud by Hunk, was the one to the team.

“My space family,

This is the last letter for you guys, and here I shall explain this week.

I planned to die during this last mission, the biggest one yet; partly because it would be heroic as heck, and partly because I just couldn’t keep faking my happiness anymore. Before that, I acted as happy as I could leading up to it.

I hated myself so much, and I lost any and all faith that I’d be able to go back to earth and keep you guys all happy. How could some broken placeholder cargo pilot ever hope to be anything more than a seventh wheel with you guys? At some point I just lost any spirit I once had, any hope I held onto.

I broke my record for being clean, and nobody noticed, but I figured as much, and smiled, since I knew I would be dead in just a week’s time. I kept hurting and hurting and hurting myself in any way I could, and it was the most I’d felt in a long time.

I hope dying lasts longer than and feels as nice as slashing holes in my legs. That tinge of pain, the endorphins released as I bleed, wrapping them before I fall asleep, and waking up with that same fuzz of pain still there.

You guys won’t miss me for long, so while you do miss me, I hope I’m not as annoying in your memories as I sounded to myself.

All of you please take care, and be sure to take the letters to my family as soon as you can.

I never loved myself, but I loved all of you more than I could ever try to say. You were my space family.

Paladin of the blue lion, Cuban lanky teenager, Lance McClain, signing out forever.

As the last letter ended, the tears started and didn’t seem to stop. Nobody could say anything, and even if they tried, they couldn’t and would break down sobbing.

Pidge was clinging to Hunk. She was sobbing so hard that she could barely breathe as she held the letter close to her since it was the closest thing she had to her impromptu older brother.

Hunk was red faced and also crying uncontrollably, holding Pidge close, and the letter even closer. He lost his best friend, his last line to family that he could remember. He didn’t know how to handle all of this.

Shiro was sobbing while holding Keith, thinking about every interaction he had with the blue paladin, and how none of them were longer than at least a minute before Shiro made some comment to brush him off. He felt terrible, and kept rereading his letter in his head, sobbing harder each time.

Keith was clutching the letter to his heart, and crying harder than he ever had in his life. Not even after his best foster family sent him off did he cry, so this was painful. He loved Lance just as much as Lance loved him, and maybe if he voiced that fact, he’d be holding Lance right now, kissing him, instead of crying over the fact that he’ll never have that chance now.

Allura and Coran were comforting each other, both in tears. Allura felt guilty for every time she turned down any offer from Lance to do her hair, or paint her nails, or just hang out with her casually and talk. Coran was mourning the loss of yet another son to him, the last time he cried this hard was the night after they awoke, since he knew his son was dead and had been for a long time since Altea was destroyed. This was just bringing that back in full, and he couldn’t control his pain anymore, so he wept.

This went on for a long time. Nobody able to do anything without it reminding them of him, never really getting over their loss, and breaking down any time they so much as passed is room the first month after he died.

The one thing that didn’t surprise them much, was when they about a year later, in tears, all made a trip to earth to give Lance's’ family their letters, and tell them why they were being given now and for what reason.

After taking the letters and hearing their reason, his mother kicked them out and yelled at them in Spanish to get out and never come back, since they stole and killed her son before she had a chance to see him again in person. They didn’t question it, and left in tears back out into space, leaving his family to deal with their loss alone again.

Nobody was okay, and nobody really ever would be. They lost their blue paladin, their friend, the glue that held them together. The boy with chestnut brown hair, crystal sea blue eyes, a smile that was dazzling and laughter so bubbly and sweet and contagious. That boy was never going to come back, no matter how many times they thought it was just a dream, or saw him in their nightmares. He was never coming back.

No matter what they thought, he was never coming back. The only thing they had to remind them of that fact, were the letters he left behind.

I write a lot of informative posts, teaching metaphysical basics. I’m constantly getting private messages – I’m open to that because I enjoy teaching, I enjoy sharing knowledge and helping others grow. I end up with a lot of people coming to me with “So I experienced this. Was it real? Can you check?”

I think that people who start a metaphysical path have this idea that they’ll say a few magickal words and suddenly the Halls of Knowledge(TM) will suddenly open and they will be able to know all, do all. I used to call it Magick Wand Syndrome. But there’s a lot of insecurity in dealing with the unseen realities around us – “what’s my imagination and what’s actually there?”

We’ve all been there… but those of us who get past it… get past it by figuring out how to trust ourselves – and sometimes validation is helpful… but not when it becomes a crutch.

I feel like… if I keep checking for people, they’re never going to trust themselves. I said to one – “I see/sense the world through my own filters, my own experiential lens – if I don’t line up with yours, then you’re going to doubt your experience more than you do now, and that loss of confidence will block you further. Stop asking me to confirm your experiences, and start asking the universe to give you signs that can confirm for you. You need to believe in yourself more than me, or anyone else, if you’re ever going to get anywhere.”

I have had that same conversation like… I dunno… 9 times in the past four days? So I realized I needed to write this.

There are a few mistakes I made when I was just starting out on a magickal path. My choice of path has changed, but the mistakes that I see others making are the same ones I made, too.

Don’t compare your experiences with others. You don’t know what gifts they have, you don’t know where they excel and where they don’t. This is an online community. For the most part, you’re not going to see the most human parts of us – we don’t often share our failures, we don’t talk about bathroom breaks or how we put pants on… but we’re human just like you. We’re flawed, just like you. There are absolutely places where you excel and we don’t – just because you don’t know them yet doesn’t make them invalid. When you base everything you hope to achieve, all your expectations, on the achievements of idols – you will fail. You will never measure up to an illusion.

I spent so much time thinking to myself, “If I had that person’s training/upbringing/opportunities I’d be so much further along now!” It’s not a race. You discover what you discover when you’re ready to discover it, and not before. If I’d had someone else’s upbringing, I’d probably still be right where I am now, because I’m me, and not them. The same goes for you. Previous opportunities lost or received does not mean that you’re behind or deficient.

Don’t use hero worship as an excuse to fail. Sometimes, we look at our idols and think, “I’ll never be like them, they’re so wonderful and perfect.” No, we’re not. Just because I don’t share all the ways I’m SO not perfect and all the parts of my life that totally are not working out for me doesn’t mean I don’t HAVE THOSE. Just like you. I see this so often – people idolizing someone, and then not following their own path, but following that person instead, and constantly comparing themselves and not measuring up to that illusion they’ve created of that person. You’re never going to measure up to an idealized person.

A friend of mine who runs a very successful Demonolatry forum and attached store has insecurities. She has days where she cries. Her insecurities sometimes cause her to go along with a situation that’s not the best for her or others, because her insecurities make her afraid to move. Every way she turns, someone gets hurt, and she doesn’t want to be the one to step on toes.

I have insecurities. Actually, sometimes I have that exact same insecurity. I also have MOODS. There have been times I’ve just gone on the warpath and snapped at everyone in my way. I get impatient and fed up with stuff, and I go on the warpath and make sweeping decisions that ARE NOT MINE TO MAKE… and people get hurt.

Another very successful practitioner who runs an online magickal store wears trouser socks. I know this because at a chat party 8 years ago, a fan won a prize and asked for their prize to be a pair of his socks. He handled it quite gracefully, but… look at this from our perspectives. How would you feel if someone thought so highly of you that they wanted to wear your clothes, as if wearing them would somehow help them to be awesome, too? Like, say you’re fantastic at a sport. I suck at sports. Can I wear your jockstrap so suddenly I can throw a ball better? I don’t want to do any of the work you had to do to get that skill… I just want your jersey.

It’s creepy – this hero worship. It’s not healthy for you, it’s not healthy for those of us on the receiving end.

Once upon a time, these practitioners were two years old. They threw temper tantrums in grocery stores because they wanted that stuffed animal or those cookies. JUST LIKE YOU. They grew up. They learned things.

My demonolatry friend didn’t just learn about demonolatry and working with demons from her family – eventually, she actually gave up most of her life to pursue work with other human beings, and demons, with skills she wanted to learn. She gave up safety, and her family worried. She sacrificed to get where she is – it was hard work. Her achievements are based on pain and struggles… and they’re not over yet. She’s still moving forward, and there are still a lot of mountains to climb.

Once upon a time, every practitioner was an apprentice who didn’t even know how to cast a circle. They got where they’re at the same way everyone else does. They trained. They studied. They fought for their place in the world.

All the things I write for you – never forget that I am autistic. That I have PTSD. That I suffer every day. Never forget that I have migraines so bad I have to pad my panties because I lose control of my bladder during them. I Am A Human Being. I have problems. I’m not perfect. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO SUCCEED. You just have to try. And when you fail… you have to try again. A different way. And keep trying.

None of your heroes are heroes. Don’t compare yourself and set yourself up for failure. It’s hard, grueling work to get where we are. If you want it, you’ll pay for it. But it’s worth it. So many people ask me questions, every day. I’m not the only one who gets flooded with questions. I enjoy helping people, I have the time. I don’t mind doing a quick google search for you if I don’t know the answer but I do know how to find it. I don’t mind sharing my experiences and what I know. However – I really don’t like it when people put my knowledge above their own personal experiences. I feel, sometimes, that my answers matter more than your own, and that’s NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE.

It’s important for you to do your own research, your own experiments. It’s vital that you get your own answers, and that you test those answers. It’s ABSOLUTELY THE MOST VITALLY IMPORTANT THING EVER THAT YOU LEARN WHAT’S REAL AND NOT THROUGH YOUR OWN SENSES. You have to learn to trust YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES… or why are you here? It’s important to discover yourself, and the magick inside you – and you won’t do that if you’re constantly looking to your idols to provide you with the things you feel you lack. You have to go out and learn how to provide for yourself. Our answers aren’t always going to be the best answers for you because you are an individual universe, unfolding in your own way.

Spells, connections to deities, companion bonds, articles that offer advice – all these are just TOOLS. They’re not meant to supplant ACTUAL EFFORT. Please stop comparing yourself to everyone else. Please stop looking at successful people and deciding that success is an impossible goal for yourself – and please stop defining success by the paths your heroes are walking. Believe in YOURSELF… and believe in OUR humanity. Believe we aren’t perfect… and that you have a chance.

Test your intuition. Explore your senses. Learn what’s real for you. You don’t need us to tell you what’s real – we won’t always be there. You HAVE to learn this for yourself – learn to believe in yourself and your intuitive experience.

Think of it this way. There are two types of people in this world. Both suck at sports. One type looks at sports and says, “I’m really not good at that – I’m going to try again. I’m going to listen to teachers, and I’m going to train my muscles. I’m going to keep practicing until I’m better. When I’m better, I’m going to see if I can push myself further. How far can I go, if I keep trying?” The other type of person says, “Those people over there are so much better. They’re just gifted. They’re naturally better at sports. I’m not. I’ll never be like them. I’m just not going to try.”

Who do you want to be?

Success is different for everyone. There is no measuring stick for success because what makes me feel successful is getting out of bed in the morning, and what makes you successful is being able to cover this month’s car payment, and what makes your idols feel successful is something completely different.

Don’t measure us by your standards. Don’t measure yourself by ours.

-Harry joins the ESU football team, his performance enhanced by The Green. -Electro is Born and he’s Angry -He blames Smythe for his condition and tries to attack Oscorp, not knowing that Smythe is imprisoned. -Spidey arrives and fights him, fight eventually spilling to Times Square -Is it obvious I’ve started ripping off TASM 2 yet or…. -Electro is arrested and sent to Ravencroft for rehabilitation. -The news of a new Big Man starts making the rounds. -Harry’s Green Juicing gets bad, he starts blacking out.
