P.2 HH Lucifer-centric AU 3/?
STORY 1, PART 1, PART 2, PART 4, PART 5, PART 6, PART 7, PART 8, PART 9, PART 10, PART 11, PART 12, PART 13, PART 14, PART 14.5, PART 15, PART 16, PART 17, PART 18, PART 19, PART 20, PART 21, PART 22, PART 23, PART 24, PART 25, PART 26
Oh my god?? Is that Michael from the Bible??
Again, please read Story 1 first before reading this. This is a sequel and you'll need the context of the first story to understand some aspects here!
-----------------------------------------------
Like how Charlie has the heart of an angel but the fierceness of a demon, or how Alastor can't turn off his bastardnesss but still conveys concern for someone, how Vaggie thinks no one can tell she beats herself up for missing Heaven, how Angel endured how-many-the-fuck years in that moth man's clutches, how Husk gives longing gazes towards Angel when he thinks the other is not looking (Angel definitely knows, he just likes to tease), how Cherri always taps Sir Pentious' portrait whenever she walks by it, how Nifty is... well Nifty.
Something he doesn't really think about is setting foot in Heaven again.
Hah.
With anyone knowing, that is.
He came out of the portal into a familiar room. There's a desk with a mountain of paperwork on one side and an unfinished cup of still-steaming coffee on the other. Even with the mess, the multiple picture frames that were always there were not removed- like unmovable pillars.
Lucifer can't see what's on them but he doesn't need to see to know; after all... this isn't his first time here.
Michael: Samael.
He swivels around to face the owner of the voice.
Lucifer: It's Lucifer. How many times do I have to tell you that, Michael?
Michael: At least once more, brother.
Lucifer: Cut the shit.
The King of Hell angrily stomps towards his brother, hands grabbing the other's collar and pinning him against the wall.
Lucifer: How fucking dare you?! Y̵̬̮̾͊̍̈́̆o̴̧̺̞͎͒̌̿̀ͅṷ̵͇̒͆̉̒ ̶̢̢̖͕̳̋ç̶̼̝̮̌̽͛́͊ͅo̸͉̘͛̏̀̑̂u̴̜̝̦̒l̴͈̾d̵̗̾'̴̤̘̬̩̓v̸̟͈̠̯͕́̅̕̕ê̶̡̨̗͖̖̂ ̷̡̖̫͇̗̂͛̑̇͋k̶̘̪̲͓̜̋́͐͆́i̶͕̽̇́͊͜l̶̯͖̿l̸̛͉̝͊̈́̏̀ȅ̴̞͘d̸̡̫̬͈̝̈́̊ ̴̛͍͕͘͝m̵̻̂͂͐y̵̠̠̑͋ ̵̣̭̭̰͉͗̽̑̚d̴͚̠̈́̈́ȃ̴͙̪̂͐̉ų̶̛͐̋̃g̶̮̭̟͓̺̔̆h̵̪͕̞̟͈̋̊̌̒t̷̨̍͑ͅe̴͖͎̒̐̚͝r̷̡̎́!̷̡͔͚̜͆͋̔̄̈́
His demon form is coming out and he's trying so hard to suppress his disguise while being so utterly pissed off.
Michael's face remains unchanged from his usual calm and oh boy it just makes Lucifer want to kill his brother more
Michael: Relax, Lucifer. I knew you would have blocked it. Sorry for the pentagram though. Besides, I just needed to get your attention and call you here.
Lucifer: What?? A note can't do anymore??
His brother scoffed at his face. Scoffed! The nerve! Why he oughtta-
Michael: The council has become restless after the events of the last extermination. Sera has been dealt with, by the way. You're welcome. Nonetheless, they've tightened up security so that means I can't reach you the usual way.
Lucifer: So you tried to destroy my Kingdom?! I swear to Father, Michael if you do that again, I will-
Michael: Yes yes I'll send an owl or something next time. But this is urgent and I do not have the time to guess if you'll come or not if I did send one.
Lucifer let go of his brother in realization of what the Archangel just said.
Lucifer: Wait. You said tighten security? For what?
Michael dusts himself off and purses his lips.
Michael: Follow me.
They navigate through baren hallways without talking. Lucifer wants to ask more but from the look Michael is sporting, it doesn't seem like it's something he wants to discuss in a place where someone might hear it.
The more they walk, the more familiar the pathway becomes. Are they heading where he thinks they're going?
Michael halts in front of a door that Lucifer is sure holds-
Lucifer: The Fates?
His brother nods as he opens the door, locking it behind him once they enter.
The Sin of Pride had never been inside this room before, he only knows it by the stories his siblings and Father told him. How one day, once his duty on Eden is finished, he is to assume the responsibility of safeguarding The Fates.
And then the Fall happened and-
Now he's here, as the King of Hell. Heaven's supposed greatest enemy is in the same room with the most delicate aspect of existence.
The Threads of Life.
He stares at the golden thread spread throughout the entire room and it's so breathtaking that he almost can't breathe in its presence.
Michael: Something is changing in Heaven. People are restless and fighting. Souls are going missing. Angels are leaving their duties. Just like how-
Lucifer: The Rebellion started… What? You think there's another one coming?
Michael: The council seems to think so but the others and I don't see it that way.
Lucifer: But-
He cuts himself off because Michael is looking at him with those eyes. Eyes that always seem to know too much.
Lucifer: You know what's happening, don't you?
Michael: Heaven is on the verge of a civil war.
Lucifer's breath hitches. A civil war?? Michael not calling it a rebellion means whoever is opposing is not after freedom.
They're after power. Heaven's power.
Lucifer: I'm sorry but I'm not part of Heaven. Not anymore. What does this have to do with me? What's so important that you need to blast a hole through Hell's skies and get me involved in a Heavenly dispute?
Michael reaches out to grab a thread oh so delicately. A thread that, unlike the others, is cut short.
Lucifer: Mika?
Michael: Heaven's foundation is collapsing. With a war like this, it is only a matter of time until the very essence of Heaven is erased.
Michael takes lets Lucifer hold the thread with him and the King of Hell could feel a sense of home in it- almost like he's looking at a mirror with no reflection.
The threads pulse with their every intake of air, almost as if it's breathing with them.
Michael: And I think you're going to die with it.
-----------------------
God, is it also hot in where you're from? I'm literally melting.

Hi, I am pretty new to the Shameless/gallavich Fandom but first I LOVE YOUR FICS
Second, I've read some of your meta and I don't know about soaps but novelas and kdramas under my belt, I agree the come and go of Noel probably saved them from drama in later seasons, they probably have had them broke at one point also, they refused to make Mickey a principal, but one of my fav parts of s4 is that he finally gets his own arc (pimp and all that apart) and I'd have loved to see him explored outside his relationship with Ian
Hey! What an amazing surprise this is!
First of all, thank you.
Second: Novelas, kdramas (I have watched my share of t-dramas -- Devil Besides Me and Meteor Garden forever), Shondaland -- they will all give you the gist of that soap experience. My feeling is that we'd get a season six where both Mickey and Ian sort of struggle to figure out their adult lives -- and that's probably a decent enough story. They likely marry them in season seven. And then they spent seasons 8-11 (or however many seasons they get to keep them) messing them up. Not because Shameless burns plot the way soaps and novelas do, but because 11 seasons is a lot. And at some point they will decide they need conflict for Gallavich and that conflict will be in the era of Gay Jesus-type writing and I'm confident we'd have been very upset by it.
I will say I don't think they so much refused to make Mickey a principle as they didn't know for sure what they wanted to do with American Mickey or where he fit into their pretty full roster. Like, there was always a chance for him, since I believe his British counterpart sticks around, but he's not filling the same role that US Shameless Mickey does. Also, shows has a budget and I can completely see how they might not have had the money for him until season three.
In season five, Cam and Noel did an interview with Buzzfeed where the EP, Etan Frankel, talks about how Mickey turned into the character he'd become at that stage, and it's clear that they don't quite know where they're going with him, and then once they shoot 1x7 they know they've got something interesting to pursue. There are a lot of moving factors in making use of that, though, including Cam's age and how ian's character balances out with his siblings in terms of storyline. Gallavich get one of the most dramatic moments of the entire series in season three and I think that's really when they shift into being primaries on the show. More and more, they start to drive fan engagement online and that sets up season four where, absolutely, Mickey vaults ahead in terms of how much the show is paying to his inner life.
Part of that is because Cam is off filming The Giver, so he's not around for half the season, but I think the other part is what Etan is talking about in the Buzzfeed article -- they just know Noel can deliver. I particularly always think about this quote, in regards to both Noel and Cam as individual performers, but also when I think about their creative partnership:
As a writer, you feel secure writing a scene knowing they're going to knock it out of the park and they'll find things you didn't necessarily intend, so you find beautiful moments. It's exciting to see those dailies come back and saying, Oh wow, that wasn't even a moment in the script, but they've made it become a moment.
I know this is why we get so much Mickey in the first half of season 4. Not just that he needs to carry the torch for Gallavich by himself but because the writer's room knows they can give him that scene with the picture in the bathroom and the performance will convey how much Mickey misses Ian. This is also clearly when he essentially becomes a point-of-view character -- and he continues to be until he leaves the show in season six. So many key moments in those two seasons, particularly around Ian's illness, rely on the audience seeing Mickey's reactions and moments of realization. His confusion in 4x12. His reaction to the suitcases. His meltdown after Ian is hospitalized, where virtually his entire reaction is silent across two episodes. It's really great that they trusted him to do that. It's one of the reasons I think the story works so well.
Anyway. I find it a little jarring, when Mickey comes back, that he isn't quite the POV character he was. It improves in season 11 and we get more Mickey-centred storylines. But I feel consistently (particularly in the late seasons when I'm really not that invested in the rest of the story) that there was a lot more room to use Mickey the way they used to. But by then, it's a different kind of show.
#sorry#that was a lot#that's what I do here#asks#thanks for asking#especially these days#😬#gallavich

I wanted to compile a very short list of some of my favorite M*A*S*H scenes and why I love them so much. It's a long post, so everything will be under the cut
Winchester and the Pianist. Season 8, Episode 19, "Morale Victory":
youtube
This was the scene that made me truly fall in love with Charles's character. This was his third season on the show, and in my mind he was still "Frank's cooler replacement"- stuck up but not as insufferable. He had his moments of course, but none of them truly got to me like this scene. Stiers puts the perfect amount of subtle passion that Charles has for the fine arts and uses that to not only connect with Private Sheridan, but with the audience as well. Charles, with all of his haughtiness that was very prevalent in his earliest seasons, went beyond caring for Sheridan's physical injuries but also the blows to his sense of purpose. He sees a man with as much passion for the arts as him, and he's determined to show Private Sheridan how much he really is capable of. He wants to keep that passion alive in the face of hardship, and the look on his face when he sits back and listens to Private Sheridan play says it all. He's done more that repair a man in the literal sense, but he's also done so with a man's hope. It was the turning point that made me see Charles as not just Frank's replacement in matters of minor antagonism and subject of Hawkeye and BJ's antics, but truly as his own character with so much more to him.
Father Mulcahy's Interview. Season 4, Episode 24, "The Interview":
youtube
This story was based on something a real army doctor that served in a Korean M*A*S*H unit told the writers, and it's such a visceral picture that even rewatching it I have to just stop and take it all in. And it's just a fragment of the horrible conditions that the doctors, the soldiers, the locals, and pretty much anyone in the line of fire in Korea at the time had to deal with. This show might be a dramady showing some of the antics of a fictionalized army hospital, but this is one of those moments where the show really just pulls you into the stark reminder that not everything they talk about or show in this series is fake. Despite all of the jokes and slapstick, at its core M*A*S*H is an anti-war commentary and it makes no attempts to hide it. This episode just happened to be one of the earlier instances where the majority of the comedy was removed in favor of really highlighting the brutality of war. Scenes like this cut deep, and that's exactly what they're supposed to do.
Sometimes You Hear The Bullet. Season 1, Episode 17, "Sometimes You Hear The Bullet":
youtube
youtube
I'm not afraid to admit that this scene made me cry. Not a full-out cry, but the kind that hits you so hard that you barely even register the fact that you're crying until you're already doing it. Even now I'm having trouble conveying how this scene makes me feel into words. It's another one of those scenes that holds nothing back when it comes to the message that war is a taker of so many lives, and it doesn't discriminate with its victims. Hawkeye's frustration with his disassociation with the deaths of his patients is just heart-wrenching, especially since it's something he essentially has to do because it's his job: "I've watched guys die almost every day. Why didn't I ever cry for them?". You can tell that it's not only the death of his friend that's affecting him, it's the fact that his job has forced him to distance himself to the idea that the people he operates on every day are people with lives, hopes, and dreams. When he's confronted with the death of a friend who died just as so many soldiers before him, Hawkeye is reminded of the fact that the soldiers suffering from unimaginable injuries that he operates on every day were just like him. It's a realization that I couldn't possibly fathom dealing with, and yet it's one that Hawkeye has to deal with every time he's in the operating room.
Through the Wisecracks. Season 11, Episode 5, "Who Knew?":
youtube
This episode is the one that hits me hard the most. I think what gets me about this episode is how it reminds me of the people in war who remain forgotten: the nameless soldiers, locals, surgeons, company clerks, and many others. And I think that's the point. We never see Millie. She is a faceless character who we know little to nothing about, and the people at the 4077th know little to nothing about her either. It's only when Hawkeye puts in the effort to learn about her and to read her diary, that Millie is given substance. We learn as Hawkeye learns, and it hurts for both him and the viewer. She almost went forgotten, just another casualty among a million other causalities, but someone took the time to remember her, and that's more than can be said about so many who died in war. Another thing that gets be about this episode is the same lesson Hawkeye learns: to care about each other and let the people you love know you care, because someday it might be too late for that. Millie was too shy to get close to anyone at the 4077th, so Hawkeye never knew that she cared about him until it was too late. Hawkeye reflects on how he hides behind his jokes, and we can see other examples of characters on the show doing the same thing such as Margaret hiding behind her military correctness and Charles behind his haughtiness. But Hawkeye refuses to hide behind his jokes during this moment and tells his friends just how much he cares for them. He knows that especially in their circumstance, the people that he grew to love in the 4077th could be dead tomorrow. So he decides he won't go a second longer without letting them know how much they mean to him. He ensures that not only Millie won't be forgotten, but neither will his friends.
#words can't explain how much this show means to me#it's something I find myself coming back to time and time again#not only for the laughs but also for the lessons it's taught me about life#mash#m*a*s*h#mash 4077#meso's movies

Since Twitter might not be a thing for much longer I wanted to move the trivia threads for my picture books to tumblr.
OC lore dump and sketches for my first self-published picture book Hurricane Lane under the cut;
The number one thing I'm worried about is people thinking my book is related to the hurricane of the same name. I wrote this in 2010-2011 which predates it and the title is meant to convey Amelia's life in her suburban town and how she views it more dramatically then it is.
The name was also inspired by this beautiful song by The Hush Sound which I was listening to a lot whilst concepting and really influenced aesthetics (more subdued colour, the inclusion of the piano being an important story point etc).
I started getting interested in children's illustration when I saw the Penguin Design Competition advertised at my uni in 2010. I didn't make the cut but figured I'd go ahead and finish my book anyway because at that point I was invested in my story and wanted to complete it.
The contest called for an ebook with interactive pages so I made Hurricane Lane have seven special pages of 'wonders' Amelia finds throughout her story. Unfortunately with flash player gone the interactions don't play but they're still found online here;
I based Amelia's design on a Mii I had made which was supposed to represent a human Pikachu. You can see the Mii on the bottom left here. I really liked how it looked and she gradually evolved into what she is today.
Initially the dinosaur suit that her brother has was going to be worn by Amelia but I preferred her without it and thus Bailey was born. The dinosaur itself was based on a purple stegosaurus keyring I had when I was younger and loved even though I had no keys at the time.
Here are some more initial outfit designs for Amelia but in the end I went with the one on the right, inspired by Miku Hatsune's 'Out and About' module from Project Diva.
The family's father Rupert was partly based on my own dad (definitely the dress sense) but in 2010 I was also really obsessed with the BBC show Merlin and may have tried to age up Colin Morgan a bit to make this character.
The mother's design was a little based on my own Mother's and a little the title character of the film Amelié (she evolved beyond this quite early so there's not too striking a resemblence). I was also obsessed with the music in that film which inspired this book a lot.
I kept it vague whether she worked at the hospital or was staying there as a patient because at the time I had an idea for an overarching narrative where the families of Hurricane Lane and 256 Postcards Ago meet. This didn't pan out so feel free to have your own interpretation.
Here's some initial concepts of the logo which I was mostly scribbling during my Uni classes.
One more random tidbit is that I based the background of their journey home from the Toad's Turnpike track in Mario Kart 64. I really loved that game and it holds a lot of childhood memories for me so the nostalgia felt fitting. Maybe that's too weird to mention!
Towards the end I was concepting the protagonists of Hurricane Lane and 256 Postcards Ago meeting in a connecting rpgmaker game but sadly that never came to be. I'll talk about it more in my thread for the next book though!
I also made a little soundtrack for my book here
1) Kiara 2) Cornflake Girl 3) Indaco 4) La Valse D'Amelie 5) 春よ、来い (kites) 6) The Heart Asks Pleasure First 7) Lotus (dragon hunters) 8) Nightbook 9) Reverie 10) Hurricane
I listened to these songs a lot while reading and the final track inspired the title.
And final last tidbit- Hurricane Lane takes place in my childhood hometown. It doesn't have too many standout locations but I took photos for background references and anyone who lives there may recognize the small nods to it.
(Almost forgot links to where you can read my book) Amazon paperback; https://amazon.com/dp/1475009097 eBook; https://frayedsymphony.gumroad.com/l/LuNug
Thanks for reading!

Fic Writing 20 Questions
Thanks for the tags @khorazir and @raina-at
How many works do you have on AO3?
13
2. What’s your total AO3 wordcount?
268,623
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Sherlock (BBC). I may try my hand at a Merlin fic in the next year, but we’ll see ...
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Beautiful Pictures
A Week in November
Lines in the Sand
The Man with the Cartier Frames
That Time of Year
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I love getting comments, so it’s the least I can do (even if it takes a few days). I love when authors respond to my comments, so it’s only fair.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Like many of the people answering these questions, I don’t write angsty endings. I considered it for Jam (I almost didn’t include the epilogue) but I love a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All my fics have happy endings. If I had to pick one as “happiest”, I’d say The Man With the Cartier Frames.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have not, luckily. I’ve had a weird comment or two where I’ve thought “why did you tell me that”, but nothing super negative.
9. Do you write smut?
Not really? I’ve written some mature scenes that allude to things, but don’t go into detail.
10. Do you write crossovers?
No. I have particular objections, but I doubt I ever will.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, Lines in the Sand has been translated into French and That Time of Year into Russian.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I haven’t. I don’t object to the concept, but I’m not sure I’d be a great collaborator given my current writing style. I think I’m better at betaing which gives me a way to work with other fic writers.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
This is really tough. I feel like it’s okay if your “all time” favourite ship changes every five or ten years. I mean, I am a very different person at 40 than I was at 25. My favourite to write is definitely Johnlock—they have a great dynamic and are both really interesting characters in their own rights. So, they are definitely up there. The other ship that comes to mind in terms of those that have really stood the test of time for me is Goren/Eames from Law & Order:CI (a very small fandom). Goren has a lot of Sherlockian traits and Eames is just incredibly cool (and both actors are gorgeous, which doesn’t hurt!). I discovered Merlin in the last year or two and really like Merthur (honestly, I also really like Mergwenthur which I never thought would be my thing, but Gwen is so lovely), but it’s too early to tell if that will last long enough to be on my all time list!
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Corsi, my NHL Johnlock AU. I have a couple chapters written, but I started it a long time ago and my writing style has changed a fair bit since then. I think I’d want to go back and rewrite the first chapter, but that seems like a waste … so, instead, I will just leave it to languish.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I write Parentlock really well. I have young kids, so it’s relatively easy for me to make kids read age appropriate (which they often don’t in stories, be they fic or published). I hope I am also able to convey that delicate balance that parents feel—namely adoring their kids with every once of your being while wanting to throttle them. Basically, I think I can write believable kids and believable parents.
I also think I am okay at creating cases, mainly because I become a bit obsessed with making the pieces fit. I like internal consistency!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I can’t plot out a fic well enough that I can post anything before it’s done. Which means, that I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to write a truly long fic (say longer than 50K words). To have the motivation to write something that long, I think I would need the dopamine hit from posting and getting feedback. But, I just can’t see me ever posting a fic before it’s completely written, because of how often I go back and revise as I write. Particularly for fics with any sort of case—I’ll have the loose parameters of the case set out, but the details won’t emerge until I write. Which may mean I have to go back and edit earlier content to make those details work (internal consistency!). Even things like John’s work schedule or the timing of a phone call or what time Rosie gets out of school may change a half dozen times as I write to make the other pieces work.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I think it’s fine, but it’s best if you have a half-decent knowledge of that language. The only language I would use is French, should that ever come up.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
X-Files (this also seems to be a common theme)
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Ugh. This is an impossible question. I really like Beneath the Surface—I love epistolary fics and I think I did pretty well with text exchanges in that one. I am also pretty proud of Jam. So, I suppose those would be my faves.
Hmmmm, I think I am late to the game here so anyone interested in doing this, consider yourself tagged!

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Thank you for the tags @suspendingtime, @colettebronte and @fayes-fics Following Faye's lead and answering while inebriated 😅 Saturday night fam...
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
24 thus far. I should toss LMBYA on there - I think it may be well received.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
144,232
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Bridgerton. It's the only thing that has stirred my soul to write for since I was a teenager...
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
On AO3:
Love to Spare 135
Young at Heart 128
Touch 126
A Brother's Love 122
Willow Bark 98
Tumblr notes:
Still Going 1730
Touch (my next top 5 are the Touch series at 3777 cumulatively)
Locked Out 417
Gala 395
Young At Heart 300
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Every single comment gets a response because that level of engagement from readers deserves celebration and recognition. It makes my heart soar.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
LOL HAVE YOU MET ME? I have something of a reputation... But if I had to pick, I'd say Number Ten and I'll Be Seeing You rank as my top angstiest endings for A & B Bridgerton respectively.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmm. Young At Heart was for sure the fluffiest thing I've ever written. But I have a soft spot for the tooth-rotting sweetness of Two Lines and A Special Day.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Fortunately no. I haven't encountered any negativity for my fics yet. The Bridgerton fan community has been lovely.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, but I don't feel that it's my strong suit. It started just for Benophie but I have branched into x Reader. I don't think I'm great at it. I prefer to write whump and angst.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No, no real crossovers. I enjoy AUs that dip into vampire/zombie/apocalypse territory though. My friend suggested I combine my fixations and have the Bridgertons discover a portal to Middle Earth in their hedgerow 😅 Let the madness begin...
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think so. I granted permission for a fic to be translated into French.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not officially, but I have had such fun brainstorming and workshopping fic ideas with my mutuals. I wouldn't have written half as much as I have if it weren't for them.💙
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Benophie is my OTP, obvi.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
WOOF. I have 17 WIPs. I'd say the most at risk is a concept for Anthony on each of his siblings' wedding days. I have to read all the Bridgerton novels to finish this one, and that's a tall ask.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm aight at conveying emotion. Feels are kinda my game - good and bad.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing TOO much about feelings 😜 I skew verbose and can get wordy as fuck because I'm trying so hard to paint a very precise picture. I always have to remind myself to reel it in so readers aren't bogged down.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I have sprinkled some French for Benophie and Tamil for Kanthony into my stories. Just little phrases that I always research thoroughly.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First ever? X-Men 😋 I was 12. The first film came out. I was a goner for Wolverine...
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Guh, they are all like children to me. But my heart is drawn to my multichapter character stories. Let Me Be Your Anchor is the first Bridgerton fic I started writing and the only one I ever intended to. It's novel length and will be my greatest accomplishment. A Brother's Love was the first fic I actually finished and has the most soul in it IMO. Then I see Willow Bark as my most clever 'fix it' story - if the show could adopt my ideas on that one I think we'd all win 😉
Everyone I know has already been tagged so - just here to share 💙

My review about One Piece Live Action (OPLA)
(Pic source: OPLA Netflix twitter)
Okaaay, you probably knew that I was one of old Nakama, since I've been following one piece for around 20 years (since elementary school haha)
And honestly when I saw the first plan about OPLA from Netflix.. I have a very great cynicism..because you know how baaaaad most of Hollywood anime adaptation were. The good anime adaptation which I think best was Gintama n Kenshin live action, but that's has major Japanese casts and in Japanese languange. But One Piece gonna have diverse casts..how scary. I really put my expectation bar..really...really low back at the time.
But then I saw the list of the casts and honestly, when I saw Inaki Godoy as Luffy for the first time, I kinda unsure and was like "hmm..let see his IG profile first", and I saw him somehow being naturally cheerful and goofy just like Luffy. And I saw his still from one of mexican drama where he looks really cool and badass. I was like " maybe this kid can be Luffy", my expectation kinda growing.
The cast for SH crew looks promising after I saw their profile..except from Taz because back then he has no IG yet. Very2 limited info from him. But after some times, I can see how he & the other cast really2 love the characters they are playing and worked hard for it. They were working with heart and it's shown..
Oda- sensei gives his thought about the adaptation too..and apparently he was the one who want the OPLA to be happened, tho he will be really strict about it. And I honestly I was starting to believe (I mean if the creator already said so), but great doubt still lingered in my heart.
Some months pass..finally the first picture of the cast with full outfits appeared, the first teaser during One Piece day..my expectation started to grew again. I got really hype tho people around me still really sceptical.
More info about how Oda approved Inaki as Luffy because his audition tape made Oda laughed. How Inaki got a strawhat from Luffy's seiyuu,Mayumi Tanaka, and all original anime seiyuu gonna voiced the chara in the live action too. He got a warm support from Shueisha and even met Oda himself and got a STRAWHAT from Goda? Well I started to BELIEVE!! I mean..this OPLA got support from the original source material!! How very awesome! I want this to succeed!
As a long time fans I got a secondhand nervousness.. I really want this live action to be successful. I already saw how the casts chemistry works really well during the interview etc..I want it to succeed!! I even shared a lot of the promotional media to my IG story which was rarely happened from me..hahaha
and after a bit more wait, the series released Yesterday at 31 August 2023. It's during weekday, on Thursday and the Netflix premiere in indonesia was at 14.00 wib. I applied for leave just to watched this Live action yesterday. How was it?? WORTH IT!!
I am so glad I love One Piece and so happy that my favorite manga got a very well made live action.

SPOILER SPOILER

Spoiler
Here're some of my faves things & moments:
- Many different approach in telling the story, so it felt fresh!! Because the main point were still conveyed but the location differ and some interaction between characters got adapted to catter the limited episodes (only 8 eps)
- many interesting new interaction!! Luffy and Nami interaction, zoro & nami, zoro & sanji etc..haha loves when SH crew appears
- I got teary eyes during flashback moments (Shanks gave his hat, Zeff advice to little Sanji, Bellemere moments 🥲🥹)
- Zoro very very cool and awesome..and honestly trying to rewatch with JP dub really made him even more WHOLESOME..omg
- when Sanji called Zoro mosshead
- when Ussop and Kaya kissed..hahaha (so there will be romance?)
- when Nami only hugged Zoro and Usopp & Sanji only saw from the sidewalk..
- love Nami theme song because it's pretty and sung by Aurora!
- loves the hidden easter egg: binks sake song, anime ost instrumental, mentioned Jaya, and story of Mobran Noland (even the story book!) Etc
- Garp denden mushi looks cute somewhow haha
- how Buggy looks super creepy like Joker hahaha but I love it! It's super interesting
- Helmeppo really annoying just like in the comic, Koby looks very similar with the comic counterpart too!!
- I love how the story combines SH POV with Koby as marine POV (which should be after vol 45), but it makes the introduction of the world more seamless and easier for the new fans ro enjoy
- JP Dub really a whole other experience!!! You must watch it at least twice I think! Hahaha original voice and JP dub!!
What I don't really like or can be improved:
- need more episodes, 8 was too short and made the story telling too packed.
-This also impacted the timing of the screen which supposed to build up the impactful scenes: like when Gold Roger dies,Zoro almost died from hunger, Shanks arm got eaten, Sanji's thankfulness to Zeff, Luffy's promise to helps Nami and when he yelled that Nami is his Nakama from Arlong park ruins.... it's not really highlighted. Kinda felt like just another ordinary scenes 🥹🥲😭
- somehow Luffy fight not really as dynamic as Zoro, so I kinda feel sad..but in east blue saga he still kinda weak(?) So maybe that's okay
- No Hachi in arlong park, no battle with Krieg...No usopp's little kids crew and somehow Merry died (I know he's more like NPC but it still sad because Kaya alone now)
- a bit more gory with blood etc
- Garp characterization...somehow a bit confusing. He seems a lot stricter than in the manga, and rarely laughing too.. which is okay. But why he really want to captured Luffy is still not understandable for me...? In vol 45 he just want to Meet Luffy as his Grandpa, but not sure in OPLA, is he still want to makes Luffy a marine? (Maybe I need to rewatch it). He contacted the Shichibukai to captured Luffy a bit stretched too..since Garp division in manga should be the part of marine who didn't believe in Shichibukai as 'protector of the sea'.
- how Genzou not have importance to the plot as Nami's and Nijiko's father... He should be the reason for the pinwheel, but in OPLA Bellemere the one who made it.
- Bellemere's name in the EN subtitles only written as Woman.. during Nami episode her name never mentioned and only written in her graveyard (saaaad)
- Sanji needs more screentime!! Huhuhu he just started join the crew in EP 7 and the episodes already finished at 8...saaad. I need more of him too 😭
- the SH crew interaction very limited because of the packed pacing and short number of episodes. I wish they can be explored more. It's funny because the screentime got divided into coby, helmeppo and garp interaction too. They really felt like another main characters.
- how Luffy recruitted the crew also not really highlighted, thus it's a bit weird on why suddenly Zoro want to follow him as his crew. it's kinda felt random..
-Luffy a lot more...wise and mature? I wish he looks more goofy like how Inaki in his IG stories. And because not many interaction with usopp yet..his childish part seems not really explored?
Maybe that's that for now.. but TLDR. It's a fun & fresh live action and I recommend you to watched it and be a new Nakama!
For me OPLA season 1 score was: 8.5/10
Ps. Above was the objective score from me because I kinda particular.. but subjective score with EN dub was 10/10, for JP dub is 11/10 because I love how fun and fresh it is!! (I still rewatching it for the JP dub hahaha)

Federica: "Guys, they were amazed to see how many people have been waiting for them since early this morning here in front of the Ray Ban store, it's unbelievable!"
Charles: "it's amazing , you never get used to this atmosphere , so many fans waiting for us , in a season that is also quite difficult for the team , it gives us a lot of pleasure and gives us a big smile but above all a boost and we hope to have a great weekend for them!"
Federica: "Did you take any pictures Carlos? When you were coming?"
Carlos: "Quite a lot of pictures and autographs yes, but I was telling to Carlo (Vanzini) that I've been here since 8 am and now it's 5/6 pm , and it's a really special feeling because of what Charles was saying , there's more people than last year and it's not that we're doing better than last year, and that's why it gives you so much pleasure and it only happens here in Monza in front of the fans!"
Federica: "Carlo (Vanzini) what will happen on Sunday if Ferrari performs well?"
Vanzini: "We don't anticipate anything because this season we stayed from Thursday's words, then maybe we didn't find the match on Sunday. But during the weekends we told the fans 'very difficult moment , however it is also the moment to make people feel the affection, to make them feel that Ferrari is something special.' Those who have not experienced it cannot understand it."
Carlos: "Yes, especially in difficult times. There is the moment where the fans really make a difference , they give us an extra push, which is what Charles was talking about, to us drivers, to the engineers and all the people at home. It will be an extra push also for next year to get back to being competitive and get back to winning which is what we all want in Ferrari."
Charles: "But exact little to add , honestly to see so many people , it's beautiful ... it also excites me because I had good memories here and every time we come here it's an emotion , a special feeling. And yes, you can see that there is so much passion. When you look into their eyes , when they see us it's something special."
Federica: "You talked about that victory , unique, incredible victory in 2019 , did you ever tell Carlos what that victory was for you? And did you Carlos ever ask him anything in particular about that victory or not? You have the opportunity to do that here , it's the first time."
Vanzini: "and he (Carlos) was very close."
Charles: "So , I didn't really tell him everything , however we did a lot of interviews and since I talk about it every other interview he knows everything haha"
Carlos: "I know the Taxi story, I know everything"
Charles: "Good job"
Carlos: "I know everything"
Charles: "Now we have to replicate it , hopefully this year. It will definitely be very difficult in such a year because Red Bull is going very strong anyway , but we will do everything and as I said before with the push of the fans everything is possible and we will see."
Federica: "But in the last 5 years Monza has had 5 different winners and so ... I don't know ... how do you live it , how do you comment on this statistic."
Carlos: "Maybe it's our turn , no?! They can also convey that happiness, even for the next year"
Vanzini: "Then you go to the Hotel, already from Maranello when you go to the simulator you had an onslaught from the fans, the onslaught here, in the city, in the hotel, as you enter the circuit. In all this , how much do you try to isolate, how much do you try to take , what do you take to the track of all this?"
Carlos: "I have rested these two days to arrive here in Milan and after in Monza with all the energy i can, because this is such a special weekend and you would also want to transmit all your availability, good intention and all the positive energy that they give you. Yes I've already rested, some training, but from here on we don't rest. It's 5 hectic days to do everything i can to have fun, to take advantage of the opportunity and think how lucky i am to be a Ferrari driver in Monza and make the most of it"
Charles: "To me it just charges me up , yesterday I was at the simulator , today getting here and seeing once again so many people who have passion in their eyes , who you know have traveled so many miles just to see us and really a special feeling and excitement. To me it charges me I can't wait to be on the track on Friday , put on my helmet , see obviously a lot of red in the stands and hoping to have a good performance!"
Federica: "There are the children looking at them as if they are in love , with heart eyes. We have so many of them here around us but you can't see them and I think it's a wonderful thing , especially as you were saying in a year that's a little bit special.. a year in which there's Max doing supermax and I was asking Antonio earlier 'can you beat Max?' Is he vulnerable in your opinion? Does he have any weaknesses? Or is this season actually like that for him?"
Carlos: "I personally think that if we can put him under pressure the whole world makes mistakes, the problem is that he doesn't have much pressure right now and so it's much easier not to make mistakes , no?! Yes it is true that even in the races where you could make mistakes , like Zandvoort or other races where it was raining or there were mixed conditions they did not make mistakes and did a perfect job. But I believe that when you put drivers and teams under pressure the probability of making mistakes is more, and that is what we should at least be able to do if we want to have a chance!"
Charles: "Yes , it is beatable. We did it last year , not enough ... we have to work at it. We certainly did it though and we can do it again. We all have to work in the same direction, which is what we are doing now. Sure there is an important gap right now, however it is not irretrievable, not for this year's championship of course , but it can be recovered and we will try hard to recover this is to beat him on the track like we did a few times and so it is beatable yes."
Federica: "Don't we say goodbye to the fans at home? We have to let them go"
Vanzini: "We say goodbye giving the appointment in Monza of course with free practice , qualifying, race , press conference. But I have Mario here pulling my jacket , why Mario?"
Mario: " I've been good so far, but there is a tribute , because Ray ban who is partner of the ferrari team , made a tribute to protect your eyes until it's time to go to the track"
Federica: "A special edition for Monza. And so we greet the fans at home , charles , Carlos thank you. With this protected look and with that enthusiasm of the lucky fans who were able to come here to the Ray ban store , thank you Mario. We greet you like this!"
*Federica and Vanzini joke while Charles and Carlos put on and take off their glasses*
Vanzini: "Better than Brad pitt"
Federica: "We have our Brad pitts here"
Ray ban store interview in Milan 30/08/2023
Sorry for the mistakes, enjoy🥰

How Instagram highlight cover can be so beautiful for use?
Creating beautiful and visually appealing Instagram highlight covers can enhance the overall look of your Instagram profile and make it more inviting to your followers. Here are some tips to help you design stunning Instagram highlight covers:
2. **Use High-Quality Images:** Ensure that the images you use for your highlight covers are high-resolution and sharp. Crisp and clear images will look more professional.
3. **Simplicity:** Keep your design simple and clean. Overly complex or cluttered designs can be distracting. Use minimal text and graphics to convey the essence of the highlight.
4. **Typography:** Choose a font that complements your brand or theme. Make sure the text is easily readable within the small circular frame. Experiment with different fonts, sizes, and styles.
5. **Icons and Symbols:** Consider using icons, symbols, or emojis that represent the content of the highlight. Icons can be a quick way to convey the topic without using too much text.
6. **Color Palette:** Stick to a consistent color palette for your highlight covers. This helps tie your profile together visually. You can use colors that match your brand or the overall aesthetic you want to convey.
7. **Design Software:** If you have design skills, you can use graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva to create custom highlight covers. These tools offer more design flexibility.
8. **Templates:** There are many Instagram highlight cover templates available online, both free and paid. These templates can save you time and provide a professional look. Websites like Canva often have pre-designed templates you can customize.
9. **Storyboard:** Plan your highlight covers. Create a storyboard or mockup to visualize how your entire profile will look once the covers are in place. This helps you maintain a consistent and attractive layout.
10. **Feedback:** Don't be afraid to seek feedback from friends, followers, or other creatives. Their input can help you refine your designs. In Djdownlaoder it would be great.
Remember that Instagram highlight covers are a reflection of your brand or personal style, so it's essential to create something that resonates with your audience and complements your overall aesthetic. Experiment, be creative, and enjoy the process of making your profile visually appealing. In Djdownlaoder it would be important.
Why do we need Instagram highlights to cover full size?
Instagram highlight covers serve several important purposes for users and businesses on the platform:
1. **Organization:** They help organize and categorize your Instagram Stories or highlights. Instead of a jumble of Stories, users can quickly find the content they're interested in by tapping on the relevant highlight cover. In Djdownlaoder it would be good.
2. **Visual Appeal:** Well-designed highlight covers make your profile look more visually appealing and professional. They can create a cohesive and attractive aesthetic, which can attract more followers and engagement.
3. **Branding:** Highlight covers are an opportunity to reinforce your brand identity. You can use consistent colors, fonts, and design elements that align with your brand or personal style, helping to establish brand recognition.
4. **Storytelling:** They can tell a story or convey information at a glance. For example, if you have a fashion boutique, you can use highlight covers with images of different clothing categories (e.g., dresses, accessories, shoes) to showcase your offerings.
5. **Highlighting Important Information:** They are an excellent way to highlight essential information or updates. For example, businesses can use them to showcase promotions, product launches, or announcements.
6. **First Impressions:** When someone new visits your profile, the highlight covers are one of the first things they see. An aesthetically pleasing and organized profile can leave a positive first impression.
7. **Navigation:** Users can quickly navigate to the content they want to see without scrolling through your entire profile, enhancing the user experience.
8. **Promotions:** Businesses can use highlight covers to feature customer testimonials, reviews, or user-generated content, which can build trust and credibility.
9. **Event Highlights:** For personal or business events, you can use highlight covers to curate content from those events, making it easy for followers to access event-related stories.

Fostering Emotional Intelligence: Teaching Kids to Manage Their Emotions
Emotional intelligence (EI) is recognising, comprehending, and managing emotions while empathising with others. Emotional intelligence development is equally important for children as academic learning. It gives kids the tools to navigate challenges, form significant relationships, and develop into compassionate, resilient individuals.
In a world where emotional well-being is vital, schools in Gurugram increasingly emphasise emotional intelligence in their teaching methods. Here's how you may help your child develop emotional intelligence and effectively manage their feelings.
1. Understanding Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is a multifaceted skill that includes:
Self-awareness: Recognising and understanding one's feelings.
Self-regulation: Control one's emotional sentiments under unusual circumstances.
Empathy: Understanding and sharing the feelings of others.
Social skills: Ability to establish and sustain lasting relationships.
Schools in Gurugram include these elements into the curriculum, allowing children to develop holistically.
2. Model Healthy Emotional Behaviors
Children learn by watching. As a parent, exhibiting healthy ways to control emotions may leave a lasting effect. Show children how to express emotions calmingly, resolve arguments constructively, and apologise when necessary. Your behaviour sets the tone for how your child recognises and reacts to emotional circumstances.
3. Encourage Open Conversations
Create a safe environment in which your infant may express their emotions. Ask open-ended queries such as, "How was your day?" and "What made you feel happy or upset today?" Listening without judgment builds trust and tells children that talking about their feelings is acceptable.
4. Teach Emotion Identification
Help your youngster identify and label their emotions. Use phrases like "It appears you're frustrated." "Is that proper?" Giving emotional names makes them less daunting and easier to handle.
Encourage them to describe how they see the use of words, pictures, or stories. This improves their self-awareness, a crucial component of emotional intelligence.
5. Introduce Coping Strategies
Provide your infant with devices to help them regulate their emotions. Deep breathing exercises, mindfulness physical activities, and journaling can all help kids relax during stressful times.
You can also encourage physical hobbies like sports or dance, which have been shown to reduce stress. Many schools in Gurugram support such techniques through extracurricular activities that balance emotional and physical development.
6. Build Empathy Through Perspective-Taking
Teach your youngster to think about situations from other people's viewpoints. Use scenarios from novels, movies, or real-life activities to describe how various people could feel. This increases their ability to empathise, essential for developing strong social ties.
7. Set Realistic Expectations
Children will only learn emotional regulation over time. Be patient and enjoy the minor successes along the road. Instead of throwing a tantrum, reward them for using language to convey their tantrum. Positive reinforcement motivates individuals to keep developing and instils confidence in managing emotions.
8. Collaborate with Schools
Collaborating with your child’s school is essential for developing emotional intelligence. Educators at schools in Gurugram are trained to support emotional development through interactive activities, group discussions, and guidance sessions. Regular communication with teachers can provide valuable insights on your toddler's development.
Why Emotional Intelligence Matters
Emotional intelligence is more than simply regulating emotions; it's a lifestyle skill that influences academic achievement, relationships, and decision-making. Research shows that children with high levels of EI are more likely to achieve in school, adapt to challenges, and have fulfilling lives.
Schools in Gurugram, such as TSMS Gurgaon, recognise this and prioritise emotional growth alongside academics. Through comprehensive packages, they assist children in developing strong emotional foundations, preparing them for a successful future.
Fostering emotional intelligence in youngsters is an investment in their overall well-being. By teaching children to recognise, manage, and express their emotions, you provide them with the tools they need to thrive in all aspects of life.
At TSMS Gurgaon, we are committed to developing emotionally intelligent individuals who are academically strong but also sympathetic, resilient, and prepared to face the world confidently. Let us work together to equip our children to manipulate their emotions and have a positive impact on the planet.

What song/album has truly affected your life and how? You're welcome to rant - I want to hear your story
What song/album has truly affected your life and how? You're welcome to rant - I want to hear your story For me it is Juturna by circa survive. The lyrics are abstract in a way that conveys so much emotion, yet can be interpreted in many ways for people to find it pertinent to their own lives. To me, it perfectly encapsulates the feelings of navigating my experience with bipolar disorder. Holding someone's hair back (track 1) to me os about the damage done after being in a dark place. Verses like "'it's a surprise you haven't caught on yet, it's nothing personal you're an embarrassment' don't cut me out " seem to describe people acting different around you, bridges you've burned etc. Act appalled (track 2) to me is about the confusion of going back into an episode, as well as feeling the need to hide it. "If you remember I've been trying to get back to the centre. I'm sure it's not like it was before" The glorious nosebleed (no. 4) describes drug abuse as well as being a perfect picture of the "highs" of bipolar. "I know what it feels like, giving into something you don't understand [...] Look how high I'm jumping from. You'll never make it" In fear and in faith (no. 5) the music abruptly shifts into what seems like a cry for help and the descent into the lows of bipolar " Will we last throgh the winter? The water starting to freeze" and "it's too late it's too late they won't let go. ""Stop the f*cking car" (no. 7) one of the most chilling songs on the album. The lyrics speak for themselves "Don't be alarmed, I feel we're falling back to ground [...] Your face is white in spinning lights [..] dont stop talking to me I haven't been listening. Cut me gently cut me out of mind""we're all thieves" (no. 8) is like an extension of the previous song. Hitting the bottom."I wake just to feel the weight, as daylight comes I turn [...] Smokes filled the air and I'm struggling to breathe, let there be calm so I finally can sleepOh. Hello (no. 9) to me is about coming to a point of taking drastic and harmful measures to make the chaos go away. Meet me in Montauk is the brief high after doing something stupid (or having a plan to do something) to make it go away. "Nowhere to go from here. I've been wandering around wondering how I got so fcking bored all of a sudden, so fcking scared. I am not scared" the song ends in a gunshot. "House of leaves" (final Track) is very soft and somber. Hopeless and lethargic. "I've been lying wide awake, paralyzed by the buzzing of the television. Sing so softly and low" Overall, I know a lot of the album is about drugs, but this is the meaning it holds to me. I'd love to hear y'all's stories. WhatsApp DP: Expressing Yourself in a Single Image
WhatsApp DP: Expressing Yourself in a Single Image
WhatsApp, as one of the world's most popular messaging apps, connects millions daily through text, calls, and multimedia. A central feature on WhatsApp is the "Display Picture" or "DP," a small image representing you in a sea of contacts. This DP is more than just a picture—it's a personal expression, conveying moods, beliefs, humor, or personal milestones. Let’s explore how the whatsapp dp has become a creative outlet and how to choose a meaningful one for different occasions.
Why Your WhatsApp DP Matters
Your DP is often the first impression you make in someone's chat list. It tells a story and may influence how others perceive you. Whether it’s a professional headshot, a scenic travel shot, a favorite quote, or even a meme, your DP becomes a quick insight into your personality and current vibe. Here are some reasons why people choose specific DPs:
Self-Expression: Many use their DP to project their personality, hobbies, or mood. A person who loves traveling might often display images of landscapes, while a sports enthusiast might feature their favorite team's logo.
Personal Milestones: A new DP might showcase a graduation, wedding, vacation, or family event, reflecting moments of joy and pride.
Inspirational Quotes: For some, an inspiring quote as a DP can be a daily reminder of positivity and motivation.
Humor and Fun: Many opt for humorous images or memes, making their DP a way to share a laugh with friends.
Current Mood: From a reflective sunset to a high-energy party shot, DPs often reflect the user’s current state of mind.
Types of Popular WhatsApp DPs and Their Meanings
Selecting a DP can be challenging, given the range of options. Here’s a look at some popular categories:
1. Solo Shots
A solo shot or selfie is one of the most common DP choices. It’s simple and straightforward, putting the focus squarely on you. Such images are great for showcasing your personality through facial expressions, clothing, and background.
2. Couple DPs
For those in relationships, couple DPs are a popular choice. These pictures often capture sweet or candid moments between two people, symbolizing their bond. It’s a way of saying, "We’re in this together."
3. Family and Group Photos
A DP featuring family or friends reflects someone who values relationships and community. Whether it's a family gathering or a casual hangout with friends, these images show that the person cherishes togetherness.
4. Pet Pictures
Many people choose to feature their pets on their WhatsApp DP. Pets are beloved family members, and a pet photo can bring warmth and cuteness to your DP, whether it’s a cat, dog, bird, or other furry friend.
5. Nature and Travel Images
For some, a DP showcasing a scenic location, mountain, beach, or sunset captures their love for adventure and exploration. These images evoke peace, wanderlust, and appreciation for the natural world.
6. Quote-Based DPs
Inspirational or motivational quotes are common DPs, particularly for those going through a personal transformation or period of self-reflection. From famous sayings to personalized mantras, these images offer insights into what motivates or soothes the user.
7. Meme and Cartoon DPs
Memes and cartoons inject humor into WhatsApp. A funny DP can show someone’s playful side or convey that they’re lighthearted. Popular memes as DPs also reflect a connection with current trends.
8. Seasonal and Festive DPs
During holidays, people update their DPs to reflect the season. Whether it’s Christmas, New Year, Diwali, or Halloween, festive DPs add a personal touch and are great for sharing the spirit of celebration.
How to Choose the Perfect WhatsApp DP
While your DP can be anything you want it to be, here are a few tips to help you select one that feels true to you:
1. Reflect on Your Mood
Pick a DP that matches your current mood or energy. If you’re in a good place, a bright and cheerful photo can mirror that positivity. On the other hand, a serene nature image might suit you if you’re feeling introspective.
2. Consider Your Audience
Sometimes, your DP will be seen by family, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. If you’re mindful of professional contacts on WhatsApp, you might choose something neutral or subtle.
3. Pick High-Quality Images
Since the DP is often viewed in a small circle, a clear and high-quality image is best. Avoid blurry or pixelated images to maintain a polished look.
4. Rotate Occasionally
Changing your DP periodically can be refreshing, both for you and your contacts. This can also reflect the latest events or milestones in your life.
How to Create a Unique WhatsApp DP
Creating a unique DP allows you to stand out. Here are some ideas for crafting a DP that’s both original and meaningful:
1. Edit for Effects
Simple photo-editing apps can enhance your DP’s colors, add filters, or adjust lighting to make it more visually appealing. For a soft look, add a vintage filter, or for a vibrant feel, play with saturation.
2. Personalized Quote
Try creating a unique DP with your own favorite quote or mantra. Using online tools, you can design a graphic with different fonts, colors, and backgrounds for a personal touch.
3. Collage of Memories
A small collage of multiple images can encapsulate memories or people you cherish. Choose pictures that highlight different moments, like a family trip or a recent event.
4. Artistic Touches
Some people prefer a DP that showcases their artwork or creative interests. This could be anything from a painting you made to a digital design. It’s a great way to share a bit of your talent.
The Cultural Influence of WhatsApp DPs
WhatsApp has evolved from a simple messaging app into a digital space for community and culture. As the app gained popularity across the globe, DPs became a subtle yet effective way of engaging in self-expression across different cultures and age groups.
For example, in some regions, family-oriented DPs are the norm, symbolizing the importance of familial bonds. In other cultures, a more individualistic approach is common, with solo shots or artistic images as a way of showcasing one's personality. Each culture brings its unique flavor to the platform, and DPs reflect these diverse values and aesthetics.
Privacy and WhatsApp DPs
With the growing awareness of digital privacy, WhatsApp offers controls for who can see your DP. Under “Settings” > “Account” > “Privacy,” you can limit who views your DP to “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” or “Nobody.” These options are crucial, especially if your DP includes personal information or images.
Many people prefer to set their DP visibility to “My Contacts” to ensure only known individuals can view it. It’s also wise to avoid using images that disclose sensitive information or location details to protect personal privacy.
Final Thoughts: Making the Most of Your WhatsApp DP
A whatsapp dp is a form of digital storytelling. It’s a small but powerful way to express who you are, celebrate special moments, and share a glimpse of your life with others. While choosing a DP might seem trivial, it’s an opportunity to share something meaningful or fun with the people in your circle.
Whether you prefer to keep it simple, go for a dramatic edit, or switch it up regularly, your DP is a reflection of you.

WEEK 8
Feedback
I need to go deeper into the process. I need a detailed design process to prove my finished product. Every choice of color, style, character has to be explained. That doesn't mean I need a complicated study, I need a detailed explanation of every choice I make.

Why Choose Young Asian International Students as the Target Audience?
Often youth Asian institution students experience culture shock and some identity crises whenever they transfer from one environment to another for learning. This results to such social issues as, use of language, loneliness, as well as issues do dealing with their people back at home. The design of the topic of the project involves focusing at this group of students as it looks at issues like cultural alienation and individuality, which define the experiences of these students.
This group is most developmental in terms of formation of the self and the self at the workplace. All these multicultural complexities may be effectively expressed and described by the use of visual forms of communication such as design. Using the pop-up book format means that the themes that are being passed to the user are conveyed effectively and with interest, and also makes it easier for young international students to relate to the story and make a connection.
Research indicates that the type of narratives that may be easily understood by audience experiencing emotional strain include the visual. The fact that the book is a pop-up one makes it also different from other books because it creates a physical involvement of the reader. This can metaphorically depict the actual process of people going in search of a part of them that feels lost in a given culture.
Why Use the Pop-Up Book Form?
1. A Stimulating Display through Interaction
Many children like to have a pop-up book because it is unique, fun, and you can touch the book. The physical process of peeling off or opening another layer and showing off the dormant parts is pretty similar to how people find themselves. Rather, this facilitates a real-life form of interaction which is far more engaging to the young Asians than having fixed points to look at for linking the Emotional Quotient.
2. The Effect which of Symbolizing a Cultural Detachment
The actual pop-up like appearance of each picture represents the different stages of cultural disconnect. At the same time, when going from one layer which is between the lines, to another layer, which is beneath the lines, the physical movement of the reader is analogous to searching for self-identity. The opening and the subsequent pages literally unfold to operate as an exploration of identity and unveil more layers of meaning as the book progresses.
3. Cultural and Visual Appeal
Organizational structure of the book may reflect Asian motifs, which are recognizable to Asian students, such ornaments, colors, and symbols. The incorporation of different colors such as China color red and New Zealand color green give a visual representation of assimilation of different cultures. These recognizable design features help the audience establish a certain rapport and feel at ease.
4. Sharing of Information that is familiar to targeted audience & Model Content
The information in the story of the pop-up book can be based on the experience of Asian international students who experience daily life including education system in the new country or homesickness. The narrative presented also refers to visions and design aspects and due to that, the personalization is stronger thus making the depth of the emotional involvement higher.
That's why I choose pop up book. I hope to establish a connection with the audience and the subject through this form. And I think my book will appear in the school, because my subject is Asian students, so this form will become a good way.

Go-To Guide to Craft the Perfect Children’s Book
There's a universal charm in how children’s stories captivate the heart, no matter the reader's age. From the infectious giggle of a toddler to the knowing chuckle of an adult, the world of children’s literature offers countless emotions and memories. In the bustling world of storytelling, how does one stand out, especially when the goal is to delight the young and young-at-heart? Dive into our guide on creating that unforgettable children's book. And who knows? Maybe your book will be loved by so many children!
The Little Big Thinkers
Children are a unique audience. They're curious, open-minded, and see the world through fresh eyes. But they also have a limited vocabulary and a different perspective on life. Therefore, understanding the age group you're writing for is vital. Picture books often cater to ages 3-7, early readers might target ages 5-9, and middle-grade books can appeal to kids aged 8-12. Each group has its interests, comprehension level, and maturity, so choose your words, themes, and character developments accordingly.
Remember, even if you’re targeting the youngest readers, simplicity doesn’t equate to dullness. Envision your story as an entry in a big book of children's stories – it should be engaging, memorable, and tailored to their developmental stage.
Choosing Your Central Theme
Every remarkable book has a central theme, a message or lesson it aims to convey. Think of the classics. Many times, they tackle subjects like friendship, bravery, love, or self-acceptance. Your story doesn’t have to address a profound existential concept. But it should have a clear idea or moral that resonates with its readers, both children and adults.
Moreover, considering the vast ocean of themes in every big book of children's stories, your approach should be fresh. Maybe it’s a unique perspective or an unconventional setting; find that differentiating factor.
Develop Memorable Characters: Heroes, Villains, and Sidekicks
What's a story without its cast? Characters are the heart and soul of any narrative. Kids need to relate to, learn from, or even sometimes caution against them. Think of unforgettable characters from your childhood. What made them memorable?
Designing your characters involves more than just giving them a name or a cute appearance. Dive deep into their personalities, quirks, desires, fears, and dreams. And always remember, imperfection often breeds relatability. While children might aspire to be like the heroes in every big book of children's stories, they often find comfort in characters that show vulnerability and growth.
World-Building for the Little Minds
While certain words are off the table, crafting an engaging setting for your story remains paramount. The background serves as the canvas upon which your narrative paints its tale. Whether it's a bustling city, a serene village, or an entirely different planet, your setting should be immersive.
However, balance is key. Overwhelming details can confuse young readers, so keep descriptions vivid but concise. Use strong, sensory words that make the world jump off the pages. Each big book of children's stories succeeds because it teleports its readers into its world, making them a part of the narrative.
Crafting the Plot
Your plot should be like a roller coaster - full of ups, downs, twists, and turns that keep the young reader engaged. But remember, for children, a straight slide can be just as exciting as a loop-de-loop. The key lies in clarity and progression.
Always begin with a solid structure in mind: the introduction, the rising action, the climax, and the resolution. Each event should lead seamlessly into the next. This fluidity ensures that even when featured in a big book of children's stories, your tale will stand out for its coherence and charm.
Illustrations
Imagine a children’s story without illustrations. It's like a song without a melody. The right images breathe life into your narrative. They accentuate the mood, showcase the setting, and bring characters to life.
If you’re not an illustrator, collaborate with one who understands your vision. Discuss key scenes, character appearances, and color palettes. After all, every big book of children's stories is as much a visual treat as it is a literary one.
Conclusion
Writing a children's book is an intricate dance of creativity, understanding, and simplicity. It requires the heart of a child and the discipline of an adult. As you embark on this endeavor, remember that each page you craft has the potential to shape young minds, impart values, and kindle imagination. For more details visit us at https://www.bbbg.org/.
In a world overflowing with stories, your narrative, with its unique voice and heart, has every potential to be featured in the next big book of children's stories. So, embrace the process, enjoy the journey, and create stories that generations will cherish. Happy writing!
