Philippe is in many sense a man born at the wrong time and wrong position. Intelligent, passionate and at times hot-headed he longs for the life of a mere intellectual or revolutionary but is instead forced to play the role of a monarch.

NEED TO KNOWS

Lützelburg has been plagued for decades by civil war and a series of succession crises that has left it vulnerable and open to attack from it’s powerful neighbors. Philippe himself spent much of his childhood in France while his father Augustus II secured peace at home.

Philippe absorbed and took in much of the radical enlightenment philosophies he was exposed to in France. However given his countries political vulnerability he was never in a position to step down as king completely though by the end of his life he was successfully able to maneuver his family into being little more than a constitutional monarchy with the groundwork for disposing of the monarchy altogether in place.

He is devoted to his mistress Josette(also on this blog). While he has become friends with his wife and loves his children with her the marriage was purely political.

Fucked AU about Hetalia

So… Idk, this will be my first oficial post. And I just want to talk about the fucked up AU of humans Uk brothers + Sealand that I actually made for a WhatsApp chat roll with my friends… 

A little bit of context: a few months ago, I made a chat about a hetalia in the Victorian era with humans Au, so in the chat I was Iggy and Peter. In short, it was about the aristocracy, there was drama, ball dances and those things; so I made a whole story to the UK brothers + Sealand you know, background, parents, I gave them names (you'll see what I'm talking about when I explain the Au) and the whole thing. 

Once I gave you the context of the reason for this disease that I'm going to tell you, now I will start. 

It all starts with the first cousins lord Aidan Florence Kirkland and lady Rosemary Kirkland, the great-grandparents of those with thick eyebrows. Well, simply and simply, their parents arranged marriage for them (like Ciel and Lizzie from Kurojitsuji). They got married, their only child is Abraham, Abraham married Clementine, the children of them are Diana, the older one and Adam. Diana falls in love with Mr. Murray, they get married and their son is Sean Darren Murray (Irland). Adam married lady Charlotte and their children are Alistair Guillaume Duncan Kirkland (Scotland), Liam Chandler Flynn Kirkland (Northern Ireland), Idwall Étienne Dylan Kirkland (Wales), Arthur Philippe Conor Kirkland (England), Peter Alexandre Lyon Kirkland (Sealand). So, Alistair is the older one, then Liam, who is one year younger than Alistair, but one year older than the twins, Wales and Arthur, they are three years older than Peter. 

Being that the thick eyebrows are sons of Adam, the Duke of Richmond (yes I already know that title existed, but what did you expect, I'm so silly to invent a noble title). 

And well, and the grandparent sends Arthur to organise a lavish ball dance for Peter's 18th birthday (Peter is his favourite grandson since he inherited his father's blue eyes and has much vigour, remember that in a chapter of hetalia they mentioned that Sealand was made of steel). And that’s it, the rest of the role was the ball dance with the other characters of hetalia, ah, yes Adam is gay, his father forced him to marry Lady Charlotte and the UK brothers inherited Charlotte's green eyes. 

I have more headcanons about the Kirkland family, about how I developed them in the Au, also as to create the personality of my Peter I base on the personality that Dorian Gray had at the beginning of the novel, I also have stories from the other characters like Francis, but I think it has been enough to read this thing for you... I have to finish a chemistry project and I writing this sin with two hours of sleep.

The Cinderella Story of Jeanne Antoinette Diane Phélise de Esch-sur-Alzette

Long before Jeanne Antoinette or Philippe Alexandre were born, her mother Madeleine de La Motte was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elisabeth of Lützelburg. Madeleine was exceptionally intelligent, an accomplished poet and philosopher who advocated passionately and eloquently for the rights of women. She and the Queen were inseparable until Madeleine had the misfortune to fall in love with and become pregnant by the rakish Jean de Esch-sur-Alzette. Though they married it just barely covered up the scandal surrounding the match. 

Queen Elisabeth was forced to publicly abandon her friend though not in private frequently sending money to keep her friend and her young daughter afloat while Jean drove the family into debt. 

The loyalty proved wise, because when Queen Elizabeth was forced to flee Lützelburg Madeleine opened her home to her and her son despite the fact her husband was fighting in opposition to Elisabeth’s husband, Augustus II during one of the countries succession crisis and civil wars.

Elisabeth stayed with her former lady-in-waiting for three days while her and her son’s journey to France was arranged. During those three idyllic and anxious days, Madeleine’s daughter Jeanne Antoinette and Prince Philippe Alexandre formed an attachment. Though both children were both little more than seven years old, Philippe gifted her with a gold ring his mother charitably donated for the occasion. 

Over the next several years, Philippe grew up in the salons of Paris and the court at Versailles while war raged at home becoming more and more engrossed in the enlightenment philosophies setting the western world aflame. While Jeanne Antoinette came of age in war ravaged Lützelburg, her mother guided her education along her own radical lines until her death when Jeanne Antoinette was twelve. By then her father Jean de Esch-sur-Alzette had fled to the Americas having racked up debt and enemies on both sides of the still raging civil war. 

Penniless, of questionable legitimacy and born to a radical thinking mother and libertine father Jeanne Antoinette was sent to live with her mother’s sister,��Marie Marguerite. Embarrassed by Jeanne Antoinette’s scandalous origins but unwilling to turn her niece Marie Marguerite sent her first to a convent school and then had her act as governess to her younger cousins, refusing to introduce her into society. 

And then the war ended with Augustus II securely seated on the throne. 

Triumphant, Augustus planned a series of nationwide celebrations not only to celebrate his victory but also the returns of his Queen and heir, Philippe Alexandre. Naturally the Queen and Crown Prince wished to invite Madeleine and her daughter only to be informed of Madeleine’s sad fate. Jeanne Antoinette proved harder to locate and when they were able to track down Marie Marguerite. For three nights a royal ball was held, with Marie Marguerite attempting to pass off her two oldest daughters as Jeanne Antoinette. However the ruse was found out when neither produced or knew of the ring Philippe had given Jeanne when they were children.

Suspicious, Elisabeth herself went to Marie Marguerite’s home on the day before the third night and found Jeanne Antoinette. Delighted Elisabeth took her back with her to the palace and had her attended to by her own hairdressers and fitted one of the dresses Madeleine had used to wear for her. 

Philippe was enchanted with the woman his childhood friend had grown into and delighted when she produced the ring he had given her so many years before. She became his almost constant companion, and ward to the Queen. It wasn’t long before Philippe became determined to marry her, only to have his plans discovered by his father who was adamantly opposed to the match. Even Elisabeth argued against it but Philippe remained determined even threatening to abdicate instead of taking the throne which would ignite another succession crisis that would lead once again to civil war.

Having grown up during the previous war, Jeanne Antoinette produced a solution of her own. She married the aging Duke Charles Guillaume de Brézé. The move caused a rift between her and Philippe for several months though now that marriage was off the table Queen Elisabeth encouraged the two to reconcile and Jeanne Antoinette herself was able to persuade Philippe of the wisdom of her decision. The incident established their pattern for the rest of their lives, though both eventually married others, Jeanne would continue to advise Philippe and temper his idealism and passionate nature to ensure not only that his people enjoyed a peaceful reign but to create an equally peaceful future for their country.

how long has your character been here ?

he’s  been  here  around  a  month  now  which  is  exactly  how  long  he  believes  he’s  been  DC  even  with  his  false  memories .    he  thinks  he’s  come  here  from  paris  for  school  ;   that  it’s  a  year  abroad .    

he  also  believes ,  from  his  memories ,  that  this  year  abroad  was  entirely  his  parents’  decision .    he  didn’t  exactly  want  to  spend  a  year  in  america  ,  he  loves  his  home ,  but  he’d  been  causing  some  chaos  with  his  extremist  activism   &   inability  to  keep  his  rather  strong  opinions  to  himself  that  his  parents  sent  him  on  a  year  abroad  in  hopes  of  simmering  him  down  some .    it’s  not  working  at  all .

what is your character’s job ?

he’s  a  college  student !   specifically  a  political  science  major .

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom ?

he’s  taken  from  his  death  at  the  barricade .   obviously  he  has  no  memory  of  his  real  life  but  he  does  see  glimpses  of  it  in  dreams   &   occasionally  has  nightmares  of  the  barricades .    he’s  woken  up  in  sweat  after  seeing  one  of  his  friends  in  his  real  life  die   &   while  his  false  memories  have  him  unable  to  recognize  them  fully  he  still  feels  agonizing  sadness  seeing  them  die   &   will  sometimes  wake  up  with  their  name  on  his  mind  but  no  idea  how  he  knows  it .

from  the  gunshots  that  killed  him ,  he  also  has  eight  birth  marks  across  his  chest  from  where  the  bullets  hit  him .

has any magic affected your character ?

he’s  alive   &   can’t  remember  anything  but  other  than  that  he’s  the  same  pissed  off  revolutionary .     oh   &   also  he  can  speak  fluent  english .    it  put  learning  that  into  his  false  memory .

other information

brief  rundown  for  those  who  don’t  know :    in  les  misérables ,  enjolras  is  the  designated  leader  of  a  group  of  student  revolutionaries  in  paris  from  the  early  1830s  known  as  les  amis  de  l’abc .   in  1832  they  took  place  in  the  june  rebellion  in  attempt  to  rise  up  against  the  government   &   king .   they  had  hopes  the  people  of  paris  would  stand  with  them  but ,  unfortunately ,  they  weren’t  aided   &   were  fiercely  outnumbered   &   outgunned .   still ,  the  refused  to  surrender .   they  were  slaughtered  by  the  national  guard  at  the  barricades  they  built .   enjolras  was  one  of  the  last  standing ,  along  with  grantaire ,   &   they  were  shot  together .

also  should  note  enjolras  is  ,,    exceptionally  beautiful .   i  mean  literally  every  other  line  when  he’s  around  is  something  about  how  perfect  he  looks .   victor  hugo  wanted  everyone  to  be  completely  aware  that  enjolras  looks  like  a  fucking  flawless  angel .

now  on  to  headcanon  stuff .

while  victor  hugo  gave  us  a  description  on  every  kind  of  silverware  the  bishop  likes   &   dislikes   &   why   he  likes / dislikes  them ,,,    he  did  not  give  us  any  of  barricade  boys’  first  names .   save  for  like .   bossuet .   jehan .    &   marius .    that’s  it .    so  i’ve  picked  one  out .

though  he  prefers  to  go  by  it   &   everyone  calls  him  it ,  enjolras  is  his  surname .    his  full  name  is  philippe  alexandre  enjolras .    hardly  anyone  even  knows  that  though  as  he’s  just  always  going  by  enjolras .

the  book  specifically  goes  on  about  how  he  never  pays  attention  to  women  trying  to  flirt  with  him   &   that  he  hardly  realizes  they  exist ,,     waves  it  off  by  saying  it’s  because  he’s  too  swept  up  in  the  Revolution(tm)  but  i’ll  tell  you  the  truth .

it’s  cause  he’s  gay .

like  maybe  his  overall  distraction  from  romance  is  due  to  his  dedication  to  the  cause ,  sure ,  but  his  tendency  to  specifically  ignore  flirtations  from  women ?    that’s  just  cause  he’s  gay .

he’s  extremely  into  activist  work   &   though  this  isn’t  his  country  he’s  still  trying  to  get  students  to  meet  up  to  talk  about  things  they  can  do  for  change   &   he  has  never  once  kept  an  opinion  to  himself  in  his  life .   he’s  loud   &   angry .   and  he  will  let  you  know  when  he’s  pissed  off .

keep  in  mind  though  he’s  not  a  lot  of  muscle .   he’s  like  5′9″  &  generally  a  twink  in  terms  of  body  type .   so  while  he  does  get  into  it  a  lot   &   that  results  in  physical  fights  sometimes  ,,    he  doesn’t  always  come  out  on  top  in  those  fights .

he  feels  things  in  extremes  all  the  time  he’s  got  very  strong  emotions .

he  has  a  disease .   it’s  called  caring  too  much   &   it’s  INCURABLE .

while  he  can  be  forceful  for  what  he  believes  in   &   when  he’s  angry  he  can  be  very  cold   &   say  extremely  harsh  things   . . .    he  also  is  an  extremely  caring  person .    he’s  an  extremely  passionate  person   &   loves  so  fiercely .     human  rights   &   equality  for  all  is  kinda  what  he  drives  home  on  in  his  beliefs .    also ,  if  you’re  his  friend  he’ll  do  basically  anything  for  you  he  loves  his  friends  so  much .

he  hates  rich  people  like  fuck  you  if  you’re  rich  but  also  he  is  a  rich  person   &   he  hates  it .     his  family  is  extremely  wealthy  both  in  his  real  life   &   false  life .     he  tries  his  best  not  to  show  or  talk  about  his  wealth   &   doesn’t  use  it  lavishly .   he  donates  to  a  lot  of  charities  with  the  allowance  his  parents  send  him .

he  does  have  feelings  harbored  for  grantaire ,  yes ,  which  came  much  clearer  to  him  just  before  their  death  together .   before  they  were  mixed  in  with  a  lot  of  frustration  pointed  towards  grantaire  due  to  how  little  grantaire  seemed  to  care  or  how  enjolras  almost  felt  like  he  was  mocking  the  cause .    he  believed  grantaire  could  be  great  but  was  frustrated  that  grantaire  wouldn’t  even  try .   at  their  death ,  though ,  grantaire  made  clear  how  much  he  cared .

of  course  enjolras  remembers.........none  of  this  not  even  who  grantaire  is  but  you  know  he  will  some  time  or  later .

anyway  this  got  longer  than  intended  bye  lmao .

As the years go by, Philippe is able to consider his wife Maria Amalia Zofia a friend. Which ironically makes him resent their marriage all the more as he feels it was grossly unfair to them both even more so as it is socially difficult to impossible for Maria to take a lover of her own. Though he has at times encouraged her to do so, always reassuring her he’ll never do anything to cast doubt on the paternity of their children.

Philippe has a noticeably French lilt to his accent unlike most from Lützelburg who speak with a more Germanic accent. Raised so many years outside of the country he’s in many ways a foreigner which has seriously affected his relationship with his people and the royal court. 

While he is able to improve how he’s perceived to the larger public his relationship with his courtiers will always be somewhat antagonistic.
