you need to ask yourself more frequently: are you conflating “hotness” “desirability” “beauty” etc with consumerism?
#how much money are you pouring into regular manicures and eyelash extensions and your purebarre membership and drugstore makeup?#do you feel more desirable when you are wearing/consuming certain brands/lifestyles?#does taking part in this societal aspect of beauty benefit you or the person selling it to you more?#how does buying into this consumerism perpetuate a system of beauty-as-currency?#i am not perfect obviously but i am saying that i and everyone else should think about it#pp#gh
