We need to find a way to cut through that mist!
Tumblr media
Yeah we need to get rid of this mist or else Akane is gonna be in serious trouble!
Tumblr media
*As the mist rolls in closer to Class 77-B Peko starts swinging her swords in an attempt to keep it back* You will not harm Fuyuhiko or my friends!
*But as Peko does this the wind she is generating from the swing causes the mist to recall slightly*
Tumblr media
Huh?
Tumblr media
Did your swing just cause the mist to back away?
Tumblr media
*Peko tries to stab at the mist but nothing happens. She repeats the same swinging motion as before and it makes the mist retreat slightly*
Tumblr media
Now that is interesting...what is going on here?

DAY 12: DANGANTOBER
Tumblr media
Day 12: Remnants of Despair
AT LAST, AT LONG, LONG LAST! IT'S HAPPENING, IT'S FINALLY HAPPENING! THE EVENT ONE BILLION YEARS PROPHESIZED HAS COME TO PASS! THE DAY HAS COME! I FINALLY GET TO RANT ABOUT THE REMNANTS! Hats off to you if you know what I was referencing just now, lol.
I've said this a lot, but I really love the Remnants of Despair. They're my favorite part of the Danganronpa story, and I think they're criminally underused. There's just so much potential to explore and work with, and it's something that plagues my mind 24/7. Their designs are awesome, their psychology is interesting, and further exploring them not only paints a more detailed picture of the characters, but of the Danganronpa world as a whole. In this post, I'll be talking about EVERYTHING, from what they did, to how they look, whatever comes to mind, really.
For those of you who have forgotten the details of the Remnants, never played or watched UDG, or just never watched the episodes of the anime where we get information about them, here's a recap.
So, hopefully everyone reading this is familiar with the cast of SDR2. That group of students are the ones who go on to become the Remnants of Despair (+Hajime, even though he was just a reserve course student at the time). While they were at Hope's Peak, they rarely hung out with one another. Their teacher, Chisa Yukizome, rounded up everybody and made them start coming to class so they could form connections with each other. This class of students consisted of Teruteru, Peko, Mahiru, Ibuki, Hiyoko, Mikan, Gundham, Nekomaru, Nagito, Chiaki, Fuyuhiko, Sonia, Kazuichi, Akane, and Imposter pretending to be a character named Ryota Mitarai (who will be discussed later in this post). After a few days of knowing each other, and a certain soup-related incident that I will not ruin this post with, Chiaki is named as the class representative.
As each day passed by, the class grows closer together, and closer to people outside of class as well. Chiaki makes friends with Hajime, and Mikan finds out about the real Ryota, and about Junko and Mukuro. Junko uses Mikan as a test subject for her despair video, and it works on her. She doesn't show up to class anymore, and one day, someone spots her on campus, so everyone goes searching for her. Nagito and Chiaki stumble across a hidden passageway, where they find Junko and Izuru. Nagito is injured in the interaction, and Chisa provides a distraction for the two of them to get away.
Tumblr media
I fear I am jealous of Nagito here lmao. Chiaki and Nagito go back to the rest of the class, who found Mikan, and they all decide to go back for Chisa. Meanwhile, Junko has already brainwashed Chisa, and her master plan is set into motion. The class walks through the secret passageway, and Mikan separates Chiaki from everyone else. Chiaki runs into Chisa, who leads her to an elevator that takes her to a dungeon-like obstacle course, full of spikes and boulders. She must escape to get back to her friends, and Chiaki actually manages to reach the end. Unfortunately, she's been tricked, and she gets impaled by multiple spikes, dying from her injuries in a scene I will never forget.
The others are shown the footage of her death, and they begin to feel despair over the traumatic loss of their friend. Taking advantage of their anguish, Junko begins to play her despair video for the class, brainwashing them into Ultimate Despairs, who are then let loose to cause chaos in the world. The next time we hear about them as an active group, it's at Makoto's hearing for disobeying the Future Foundation to help them. There, we get this picture.
Tumblr media
Whoever designed them ate, I fear. As the Remnants of Despair, they use their ultimate talents to spread despair in unique ways, from building weapons of mass destruction, aiding other subsidiary groups of despair, to tyrannical takeovers of certain parts of the world.
Anyways, Makoto manages to rehabilitate them in SDR2, and its a happily ever after for them as reformed, wanted dead or alive war criminals <3 But, a lot of what they did, with the exception of Nagito, is left up in the air for us fans to theorize about.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Nagito, let's talk about Servant first. Nagito basically became a single father as a Remnant. As Servant, Nagito's job is to watch over and aid the Warriors of Hope, consisting of Masaru Daimon, Jataro Kemuri, Kotoko Utsugi, Nagisa Shingetsu, and Monaca Towa. He's the only Remnant that we really get to see in action, being a pivotal character in Ultra Despair Girls.
Nagito is unique from the rest of the Remnants in many ways. He's not expressly violent like many of them are, preferring to be more manipulative in his methods. Despite his title, he pulls the strings of a lot of things that happen in UDG. When he's not making milkshakes for those tyrannical little gremlins, or being outed by Kurokuma, he's blackmailing and kidnapping members of the Future Foundation, like Toko and Byakuya respectively. He's tricking the kids, working under the guise of being subservient to them and their want to create a paradise for children, instead working with Monaca to bring about Junko's successor.
He also has a very strange relationship when it comes to Junko. While a lot of the others seem to view her as their leader, he hates her with every ounce of his being. That's the entire reason he's working to bring a form of her back after her death. The idea of her being alive once again causes him intense despair. He even says that he's jealous of Makoto, because he wanted to be the one to kill Junko himself. He despises her for turning everyone away from hope, including himself. But, he also still seems to have some kind of twisted appreciation for her as well, stating that she's the woman he loves and hates the most. After the plan to create Junko's successor falls through in UDG, he decides to raise Monaca to be Junko's successor herself, stating that because he loves and hates her so much, he can recreate her perfectly.
Nagito's also one of the three Remnants who actually scavenged from Junko's dead body, the other two being Mikan and Fuyuhiko. Nagito took Junko's arm, replacing his own with it. Looking at it causes him despair, since now she's stuck as a part of him. It's unclear what else he did, but we know he was just as, if not more, overzealous about it as he is about hope. It's his maniacal nature that manages to turn Monaca off from despair in the anime, saying that she'd rather not end up as crazy as him. For a character who was so determined to usher in a new era of despair, the fact that Nagito was too crazy even for her, speaks volumes. Don't worry, these other sections won't be as long, since there's not much info about them besides fanon.
Tumblr media
Next up, Kazuichi Souda. The only bit of real content we get of him is a small compilation in one of the episodes, showing him working on a large Monokuma robot. This Monokuma robot was featured in the end of Ultra Despair Girls, nicknamed 'Big Bang Monokuma' by everyone's LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER, Haiji Towa. Haiji is nasty, and if you like him, he's one of the characters I CANNOT see why you'd like him. Haiji likers, DNI.
Anyways, aside from working on Big Bang Monokuma, it can also be inferred that he would go out with weapons and either supply or fire them in crowded areas. After all, there's only one character we know of who would match the dude in the beanie.
Tumblr media
I personally believe that Kazuichi was mainly responsible for two major things. The different Monokumas that can be found around Towa City, such as Ball and Junk Monokuma, and the executions from THH.
My biggest piece of evidence for that above claim, comes from Kazuichi's free time events, where he says that he wants to build the fastest motorcycle ever, even though he'd be too scared to ride it. Aside from being the only character in this lineup(apart from Izuru) who could feasibly make the executions, Mondo dies from a motorcycle that can go fast enough to liquify him.
Also, I think that each Remnant went against their personal life goals mentioned in the final episode of despair arc, to create maximum despair. They are asked to state what they want to do with their lives, and they say things like "solve all diseases", "create peace treaties", "increase animal welfare" etc. Kazuichi says that his personal goal is to eliminate all pollution from the atmosphere, so I think he'd be responsible for polluting the air even more, dumping oil in the seas. He is the reason the sky is red, and why Hope's Peak needs an air purifier for the participants in that game. Poor guy, when he's not simping for Sonia, he seems like an actually pretty chill person to be around, especially in those final episodes.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Sonia's simps, next is Gundham. We see him in that compilation, surrounded by all sorts of animals. Snakes, elephants, giraffes, you name it. Though, notably, the Four Dark Devas/Twelve Zodiac Generals (all hamsters, the devas are part of the twelve), are absent from the line up.
It can be deduced that Gundham released dangerous animals from zoos and sanctuaries, letting them run amok through major cities. He managed to rally the animals together, training them to be very destructive, and ultimately uses them in battles against the Future Foundation.
Gundham doesn't have anything he sets out to do with his life, at least nothing he voices in the final episode, so maybe he wanted to create a safe place for animals to live happily, and weaponizing them would cause him despair.
To explain away the disappearance of his hamsters, I think he released them as a final act of humanity and care for them. I think he knew that he'd be mistreating all the animals he held dear, and he wanted to give the hamsters a chance to escape. ESPECIALLY if he's going to be having snakes and birds around them, that's a recipe for the hamsters to be eaten.
Tumblr media
I feel very bad for Mikan. She was the first one that fell to Junko's influence, the first one to be rewritten in such a way. She even watches the video a second time, which means she's probably one of the most far gone.
Like Nagito, Mikan is one of the three Remnants who took a body part from Junko's corpse. She took her uterus, and replaced her own with it, in hope's of carrying on Junko's legacy. She's also the one who probably attached the arm to Nagito, and the eye to Fuyuhiko.
In the final episode, Mikan says she wants to create a miracle cure for all diseases. As such, I can see her poisoning medical supplies, much like the real-life Tylenol Murders. She would probably hurt those who are sick and weak, and quite possibly experimented on people. As a medical professional, she was probably responsible for making sure the Remnants who frequented active combat against the Future Foundation were healthy and in peak condition.
I've also seen some people say she probably worked on ways to brainwash people through chemicals, and likely used captured Future Foundation soldiers as test subjects.
Tumblr media
Akane and Nekomaru are the fighters of the group. They go out, and their main job is to cause as much stress for the Future Foundation as humanly possible. They're both heavy hitters, and that'd definitely be a hard thing for the Future Foundation to beat.
Akane's goal for her life simply boiled down to eating her fill of food, while Nekomaru said he would support everyone's dreams. I think he may have acted as support for the other's plans, kind of freelance depending on which Remnant required his services at the time.
We know one of the Remnants starved themselves, I believe it was Akane. Food brought her joy, so to cause despair she limited herself. In the anime, she's seen with abs, but I think they were just scared of showing her ribs. It's honestly a wonder that she would be able to fight at all. She fights with everything she's got, running off of despair, spite and mania.
Tumblr media
Fuyuhiko and Peko occupy a similar area as Akane and Nekomaru. In fact, I think Nekomaru and Akane probably partnered with or joined Fuyuhiko's group of soldiers. All four of them fight against the Future Foundation, keeping their field agents on their toes and actively fighting against any sort of helpful effort by them.
In the final episode, Fuyuhiko says that he and Peko will lead the people in the Kuzuryu Clan down the right path, since he doesn't want to keep perpetuating violence. He wants them to get good educations and lead good lives. Peko says that she'd never kill again. For Peko to be actively fighting in battles across Japan, means she's actively causing the pain she didn't want to. Peko wants to be seen as more approachable, so to be one of the main Remnants in charge of causing chaos must be awful for her. For Fuyuhiko to take a step back and use the people in his clan to cause despair, he's also violating his life goals, and his want to not be reliant on the Kuzuryu Clan. It's the same reason he wants a degree of separation between himself and Peko in SDR2. He doesn't want to be seen as weaker, and he doesn't want to use the people around him.
Tumblr media
Imposter is definitely an enigma character. There isn't much information about them when they're not in disguise as either Byakuya or Ryota (who deserves his own post, what I have to say may be a hot take). You can infer though, that they're actually a very caring person. When they notice Ryota engaging in unhealthy behaviors, they make sure that he eats and sleeps when required, and assumes his identity to give him a break. You can also see it in-game, where the more you hang out with them, the less they act like Byakuya, and more like a kind leader figure. Personally, I call Imposter Touya, since it sounds like a combo of "Two" and "Byakuya", and people already call them Twogami. It also means ''all the more, increasingly'' like their talent.
In the final episode, they aren't in disguise as anyone, and they say that they could become anyone they want, including the president. There's a strong desire within them to become their own person, to be seen for who they are, and not as the person they're impersonating.
It's intriguing, as in Remnant form, they're dressed like Byakuya. I think that Touya assumes the identities of various important figures in society, and infiltrates certain organizations whilst doing so. Since they're currently acting as Byakuya, I think Touya has infiltrated what's left of Togami Corporation, and is working to destroy their reputation. Maybe after Byakuya joins the Future Foundation, Touya tries to make it look like he's betraying them during different missions. Maybe that's why he's never out in the field unless it's absolutely necessary.
Tumblr media
Teruteru Hanamura. I think there's a consensus on what we all agree he did while under despair. In the final episode, he says that he will feed everyone tons of nutritious food, and end world hunger. On top of that, he's someone who values his family a lot, especially his mother and siblings.
Teruteru is implied to use drugs in his food to make it taste better. It's an already disturbing theme with the food-oriented ultimates, with Ruruka using Seiko (the Ultimate Pharmacist) to enhance her sweets. In Teruteru's free time events, he feeds Hajime a simple rice ball, and Hajime leaves that interaction feeling like he's been drugged from how drowsy he is. Teruteru also keeps drugs around his food normally, evidence being the infamous soup scene. He may have poisoned his food, or used certain drugs to manipulate people to do bad things while in a weakened state of mind.
There's also an almost mutual agreement that I've seen in the fanbase, that he possibly turned his family into food. For how much he values them, I could definitely see that happening as a possibility, and it's such a terrible thought. For the life of me, I hope that isn't the case, and that Teruteru's mom and siblings are still out there in the world, ready to reunite with him once things have cooled down.
Tumblr media
I've lumped Sonia and Mahiru together because this is the only picture of Mahiru as a Remnant. Anyways, starting with Mahiru, I think she traveled across the world, taking pictures of all the destruction and carnage as a result of the Tragedy. She likely also blackmailed high ranking officials and celebrities, bringing them under the thumb of Ultimate Despair and granting them more power over the general population.
In her free time events, Mahiru states that her mother was a war photographer. Her mom would go to scenes of destruction, take pictures, and sell them to news outlets. Mahiru says that, while she respects her mother, she doesn't want to take pictures of war. She wants to capture people's smiles and happy scenes of people living their lives. Going around and taking those sorts of pictures amidst the worst event in human history would definitely cause Mahiru despair. That can be seen in the picture as well, taking pictures of Sonia, likely declaring war or commencing public executions in her kingdom of Novoselic.
At the end of the final episode, Sonia says that she wants to make Novoselic into a peaceful kingdom, one with no wars. Once she becomes a Remnant, she forces her people to commit mass suicide, declares war on nearby countries, and executes people in her own country, supposedly including her parents so she may have sole power. The people who do not die in her initial takeover are likely added to the Novoselic army, serving under her and for her every whim. For someone who wanted to be seen as an equal by her peers, and not treated differently for her status, I can see her feeling very upset with herself knowing that she ruled her kingdom with tyranny and terror, and made people treat her as such a higher power.
Tumblr media
Next is the girl group duo, Ibuki and Hiyoko. I think their combined abilities probably made the other's very potent, and its an interesting team-up. They aren't shown doing anything too bad, merely putting on an evil concert.
In the final episode, Ibuki says she wants to use her music to spread happiness, while Hiyoko says she wants to use dance to spread joy.
I don't really know what they would've done to spread despair. Maybe Hiyoko hit the griddy and it made people very upset. In actuality, I believe that Hiyoko probably employed methods similar to snake charmers, and managed to work in some form of hypnosis into her performances. That would be able to turn the masses against one another, and against other people.
Ibuki, on the other hand, definitely worked subliminal messages into her music, causing people to perform certain actions or think certain things for despair. Swifties but evil. Her music was probably also engineered to cause the most discomfort, with screeching guitar riffs and loud drums. Headaches and injuries would be prevalent at their concerts. I can also see Ibuki just smashing her guitar and wielding it as a weapon if facing off against Future Foundation members.
You can even hear a sample of her music on Spotify, since in the final episode of the anime, the rehabilitated Remnants go to help the trapped Future Foundation members, and she plays a song to incapacitate the brainwashed Future Foundation members. Listen if you dare!

It's finally time to talk about my BOY! I want to save some of my thoughts for his own post, and I honestly think this post is getting very long. For context, I started writing at 3pm, and it's now 10pm. Granted, I watched a movie and did some homework, but that's not the point here. I don't classify Izuru as a Remnant of Despair. I know he is one, but his circumstances are different. To understand Izuru, we need to start with Hajime.
Hajime starts the series as a reserve course student, someone with no talent, yet he idolizes Hope's Peak. He wants to be an ultimate so badly, that he'd do almost anything to do so. He has a bad habit of comparing himself to other people around him, basing his self-worth against theirs. So, in a school full of exceptional people, he's at an all time low. He has no friends, and feels like his goal is out of his reach. For as much as he wants to be an ultimate, we never get an idea of what he wants his ultimate to be. He has no plans for what it is, all he knows is he wants one. To feel important. To feel special. Because he doesn't see himself as anyone of worth.
He is approached by a group called the Steering Committee, which Tengan is loosely involved with. They propose the Kamukura Project to him, which is meant to give him a talent. He obviously really like this idea, but the idea of getting a talent artificially rubs him the wrong way. It's unknown if his parents know what's been proposed to him. One day, thinking by the fountain, he meets Chiaki, and they quickly become friends, bonding over video games. After that, they meet up regularly to game and talk by the fountain. One day, Fuyuhiko's little sister, Natsumi, ends up in his class, and he briefly meets her. Towards the end of the day, he finds her crying by herself, saying that she wants to be seen as the Ultimate Little Sister because Fuyuhiko only deserves the best in his life. Hajime starts to apply this to his friendship with Chiaki, believing he's not worthy of being her friend.
Still, he tries to keep his chin up and not let it bother him. He's hard-headed and hasn't been broken down yet. That's shattered when he tries to go to the ultimates course building for an important question (WATCH THE ANIME) and he gets beat up by Juzo. That very day, he meets with Chiaki, tells her to make tons of memories and have lots of fun for him, and then on, they never see each other again.
He accepts the Kamukura Project, and they begin at once. In the anime, it's done as a very quick procedure, but in real life, it'd be months and months of surgeries, mental conditioning, and medical tests. Soon, Hajime is completely erased from his mind, and is replaced by a figurative blank slate they name Izuru Kamukura. Interestingly, they call him Izuru Kamukura 1.0, implying there were supposed to be more after him. He was essentially a beta test, one that likely wasn't meant to make it this far. They likely expected him to die from the experimental procedures.
He is left on his own for days on end, until eventually Junko finds out about him. Her and Mukuro go to his little room, and try to get him to join despair. He initially declines, not seeing the purpose behind doing so. They invite him to the student council killing game, and there he feels some semblance of an emotion, so he continues. He is there, lurking in the background for many subsequent scenes.
The scene that is most important is Chiaki's death. She dies slowly in that scene, and Izuru is there, watching her. She recognizes him, reaching out towards him because he was her friend. At her death, he finds himself actually feeling something.
Tumblr media
He's crying. Something he didn't think was possible. It is unknown if Hajime's repressed pain and despair was so powerful that it was finally felt in this moment, or if Izuru was just intrigued and confused by the idea of someone using their last moments to reach out to him. Nevertheless, he sticks with Junko's plans for despair, and is the reason she even ends up in SDR2. He's still effected by Chiaki's death long after this scene, expressing what can be confused for anger at the end of UDG when Junko starts to mock the way she'd greet him. He rips the wiring out of Shirokuma and Kurokuma's heads, taking only what he needs for the plan.
Izuru wasn't brainwashed, at least, not by Junko. The Kamukura Project deserves it's own post, but here's the rundown. He is supposed to be the Ultimate Everything, in peak physical and mental form. The surgeries needed to give him the strength capacity for the athletic ultimates would've involved breaking every bone in his body and rebuilding him from there, strengthening him enough to be able to launch Mukuro across the room with a flick of his hand. He would be injected with a cocktail of chemicals, made to increase mental abilities like memory, and possibly growth hormones for certain aspects of his body. That would explain why his hair is so incredibly long and dark, and why his eyes are red.
On the mental front, yes, he'd undergo numerous brain surgeries. Likely around the hippocampus and amygdala, they'd sever connections related to his original identity, which would also damage his ability to feel. Your emotional receptors are in those areas, and maybe ruining those sections were by design. After all, Hope's Peak is shady, and maybe they were trying to create some kind of unfeeling superweapon. Theory for another day. They left him near emotionless, with all the logical processing needed to complete any task needed, like a robot. They left him purposeless, craving entertainment of any kind. This makes him easier to use, easier to employ as a tool. If he is lacking purpose, he'd do anything you ask in order to feel anything other than emptiness. This is something Junko appeals to, since despair would be unpredictable and exciting for him.
I think he grows bored quickly, since after a while, anarchy becomes its own kind of order. There is still humanity in Izuru, he holds onto Chiaki's hairpin, and when Makoto finds him, he's nurturing a flower.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene is part of the reason why Makoto believes the Remnants are able to be saved. An unfeeling, despair-ridden monster wouldn't take the time to be so kind to something as small as a flower.
This scene is so moving when you watch it.
I think as a "Remnant", Izuru was merely an observer. I don't think he did anything except watch, only intervening when he felt it'd provide him some entertainment. Once he got bored, and only had Junko's USB stick plan, he'd probably find some way to make it easier for Makoto get everyone together, if only to enact that plan for that final bit of entertainment.
Is it obvious that I love Izuru?
youtube
Original Creator: Jayce Jole on YouTube
I spent a while learning psychology, and it's always been a big interest for me. Like with the factors pertaining to Izuru, the Remnants also have unique traits that explain why they act the way they act.
They were brainwashed by the subliminal messages that Ryota and Junko had placed in the video, that's why they're so deep in despair. But what is brainwashing? Brainwashing is a form of mental conditioning, that can essentially reprogram the mind to adopt radically different beliefs, ideas, and morals to the ones already carried by the victim. Brainwashing is not mind control, but it's conditioning.
They had their morals completely rewritten to align with Junko and despair. That's part of the reason I think Nagito is as different as he is. I think hope was such an engrained value within him, that he still holds onto despite his despair. The mental reprogramming is in constant conflict with his closely held beliefs.
There are many real examples of brainwashing, most notably within cults and real-life criminal organizations. They take advantage of vulnerable people, and make them change everything about themselves to align with these new ideas. Junko took advantage of their grief over seeing Chiaki die so gruesomely, and changed them fundamentally. They are not inherently evil people, they were not mind controlled into being evil people. They are people who were taken advantage of and conditioned into going against who they were. It's so saddening, they're teenagers, teenagers who should be going into job fields and colleges and living their lives, instead of terrorizing the world. Grief is a powerful, yet human emotion, and it's one that was easily controlled and manipulated by Junko. That's why Makoto took a chance on them as well. He didn't see the terrible people they had been turned into, he saw the hurt, grieving people underneath and wanted to help them.
It's also sickening how Junko only did all this so the Tragedy would carry on while she was masterminding the Hope's Peak killing game. The Remnants are nothing more than a backup plan to her, people she views as "not useful". They only exist to keep spreading despair while she is away, and that's sickening. She brainwashed them and not her own class, BECAUSE she doesn't value the Remnants. She cared about her classmates, so she wanted to feel the despair of watching them suffer. She merely saw the Remnants as tools, ruined their lives just for her own benefit.
I think there could have been an entire anime arc about them. Show Makoto, or Ryota, or some other character trying to rehabilitate them. How did they manage to track them down, and bring them to Jabberwock Island without dying or being discovered by the Future Foundation? How did they manage to stabilize them enough mentally to enter the Neo World Program? How did Izuru manage to get that USB stick past whoever was helping them? What were they like after waking up from the NWP with all their progress erased? If the survivors were normal, how did they handle seeing their friends in such a state? What impact did they do to the world? They could provide a clearer image of the Tragedy itself, which isn't really explored past Towa City, and even Towa City has only just recently been affected by the Tragedy. I think there's so much to explore, and so little attention actually given to them.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEND ME YOUR ART, YOUR HEADCANONS, YOUR FICS, YOUR CONFESSIONS, YOUR PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE REMNANTS! I WILL EAT THEM UP LIKE I AM STARVED! I WILL SUP FROM THE WELL OF FANON AS IF IT IS THE FIRST DRINK OF WATER I'VE HAD IN DECADES! I NEED TO CONSUME EVERY BIT OF MEDIA ABOUT THEM!
I'm so normal, I'm so normal, I'm so normal, I'm so normal-
Anyways, after Dangantober is over, I may introduce my Danganronpa OC to this blog (not as a roleplay thing, but just to yap about him). Mainly, he's a former classmate of theirs, and he's part of their rehabilitation process because I NEED to chew on it like I'm teething.
Here is an edit I made of Chisa Yukizome, and the Remnants (it's short, it was my first one), to a Miss Delight edit audio. Please enjoy it, I was so proud when I finished it <3
Is it obvious now just how much I love the Remnants? They NEEDED more screentime, I'm not kidding on that front. Imagine everything that could've been explored, how much of their actions was the brainwashing, and how much was them acting out in twisted grief?
What did each person do while under despair? Was any guilt felt? How did they react after being rehabilitated? How are they living now with the knowledge of what they've done?
They were just grieving kids, kids who were taken advantage of and used for evil purposes. But I also agree that the Remnants are not blameless in their actions. They must live with this guilt forever, constantly on the run for what they've done, and yet, they have each other.
When I found out that UDG was SUPPOSED to be about facing the Remnants of Despair as either Makoto or Komaru, before it was changed to be the WOH, I was UPSET! Someone, PLEASE MAKE THAT A REAL GAME, I'D PAY YOU EVERYTHING IN MY WALLET AND BANK ACCOUNTS!
Make merch of the Remnants, all of them, not just the Servant pop-up parade and Izuru plushie.

How would the SDR2 girls react to falling to the “random body parts became invisible” curse?
o7
Mahiru Koizumi:
She didn’t understand how that all was happening.
She didn’t even want to go to class while parts of her were invisible.
How could she fix it?
Peko Pekoyama:
That…was probably not good.
It could aid her in other ways, perhaps, but she wasn’t comfortable with that thought.
She would rather have a whole, visible, functioning body.
Ibuki Mioda:
Her first thought was to wonder if glitter would show up anyway.
It did.
But it didn’t get rid of her confusion and curiosity.
Hiyoko Saionji:
What the heck?
She tried not to think about it too much.
It just freaked her out, not being able to see herself.
Mikan Tsumiki:
She was so, so scared of turning completely invisible.
How would she be able to help people then?
It felt like she could still control her body, at least.
Chiaki Nanami:
She was probably the most unphased.
But even she was a little startled by the sudden disappearance of, well, herself.
Would she end up fully invisible?
Akane Owari:
She coulda swore her hand was just there!
Why did it keep disappearing?
Maybe she needed more sleep or something.
Sonia Nevermind:
Perhaps some sort of dark magic was causing it?
She would have to research a way to turn herself back.
Though it was quite the interesting phenomenon…

the thing about. okay so when i first got into dr i was like ‘i think i prefer an outcome where they ultimately cant wake the other ten members of their class and its just the five survivors because then the deaths meant something yknow’ and while i still think that that kind of thing has. yknow. merit and value. i have actually come around to preferring them being able to do it. with one massive caveat.
it takes forever.
it takes at least a year and a half, two years maybe, before they (lets be real, hajime) even gain the knowledge of the system, work out its quirks, beef up its security and tech, connect it to enough power, and build the proper technology to manage something like this, and even then, each person is going to need a unique plan of action. its going to take ages. i think its best if they start from the first death through the last, which has the added benefit of waking the impostor first and gaining a good moral compass and grounding presence. but… i mean. its almost two years before they even manage the first dive into their brain. two years of living alone, just the five of them, of building each other up of building a dynamic, one that works, and of changing and growing because they have no other choice.
so when it comes down to them actually attempting to wake the first person… theres some anxiety. theres some worry. theres a lot of ‘this is going to radically alter how we relate to each other and everyone else’. theres a lot of ‘this is going to make things weird’. theres a lot of ‘theyre not going to understand a lot of things at first not only because its been two years since we all went under and everything has changed in that time but also because the five of us have a fundamentally different relationship now with each other than we will have with anyone else we wake up. thats going to cause conflict’.
and i dont even necessarily mean that in a romantic relationship sense (though if you know me you know im deeply unwell about kuzuhina and also an absolute sucker for polycule shit so yeah i do also kinda mean it in that way), but just that their bond is so strong. living alone on an island in the middle of nowhere for two years with just four other people will do that. they know each other in fundamental ways that the others may never manage. fuyuhiko may get peko back, but her relationship with him will never be the one he has with hajime, or akane, or kazuichi or sonia. sonia will get gundham back, but despite them definitely regaining their romantic relationship (after an adjustment period, of course), there will be an odd dissonance in how well hajime and akane know her in ways gundham doesnt. akane will get nekomaru back in her life. but he will never be the person she goes to with the things she goes to hajime with.
this isnt necessarily entirely negative, of course. relationships are always going to be different with different people because theyre. yknow. different people. but i think theres going to be a period of time, maybe even the rest of their lives, where the ten sleepers in the vault will understand, intrinsically, that the relationship the five survivors has is never going to be fully understood, and will always be special and different from what they all have as a group.
hajime, fuyuhiko, kazuichi, akane, and sonia all faced arguably the hardest parts of the healing process, the stumbling blindly with no hand to hold except the others with an equal lack of sight, together, and that. does things. to a relationship.
they will all manage the healing process, and they will all struggle through it. but never in the same way those five did.

OK so my Hajime, assigned female at birth just goes by he/him
i came up with this bc 1. i am a girl and we the player play danganronpa as Hajime 2. saw somebody draw hajime with a mullet and it came to me this way 3. his chest size, i know that's nothing but this is my au and if you wanna take up arms with me im not going to argue the issue if you don't like my ideas leave me be cause the first person who tries to come in here and argue with me is getting your ask deleted or blocked YES I CAN HIT THE BLOCK BUTTON
my Hajime is Izuru's sibling and Makoto's cousin, Nagito and Chiaki are his roomates but the house ironically is in Nagito's name and It was Nagito by himself until Hajime moved in and Chiaki soon came after. Later on at some point she got her own place but she doesn't live there she just kinda is here all the time and she's thinking of giving it to one of their friends.
Now we are going into other characters cause this was supposed to only be about Hajime but it turned into something else
Makoto,Byakuya and Kyoko are roomates but Makoto started dating Junko and Bya didn't really vibe with that so he told him if she's gonna stay here your gonna have to go and Kyoka got on him about it so now Makoto lives next door, they live in a apartment. Junko wants to own a house
Junko used to date Nagito when she was crazy but she slowly came to "yo, i need some help im wack" and they broke up
Nagito also dated Mikan but she was wack as well he also dated Ibuki and it's kinda hard to tell if he's dating either of them he doesn't make mention of his love life. Hajime wants the tea lowkey Chiaki already understands and refuses to let Hajime in cause that aint her business.
Chiaki and Junko are worsties
Chiaki is also always over at Maki's house.
Maki and Tenko are roomates they live in a actual house.
not sure about everyone elses situation but before Hajime moved int with Nagito he lived with Fuyuhiko i honestly might just move everyone in together cause why not?
Kazuichi,Fuyuhiko,Peko i guess Mahiru,Hiyoko, and Mikan live together Nagito can't really stand living with Mikan so he can't live with them cause they had a lovers to toxic relationship and he doesn't want to go back but he;s weak to her so he understands he can't put himself in that kind of situation where he's around her so he stays away.
Mikan doesn't give a crap i love her honestly i do
Kotoko is freshly adopted into Nagito's famliy he has a hard relationship with Leon who is also his brother and Rantaro is Nagito's step brother, Nagito,Kotoko and Leon got adopted into his family when Nagito was homeless he lived with Rantaro for a little bit before he got his own place with Kotoko
There is so much stuff about them in my head that is so random like im still including the ultimate stuff but like nobody killed anybody but i don't know how to incorporate that into the story like they aren't normal people the killing game happened? i guess? but it was like a simulation that is everyone is traumatized from the world did get destroyed a little bit i guess? i don't know i don't know how to fit the puzzles together yet

How do you think each classmate would react to the news of who is in the Ishimaru family ?
(ex : Leon's reaction when he learn that half the class is in Taka's family)
Hmmm, good question! I actually did something like this a long while ago when the family was smaller.
Class 78 is a huge amount of reactions. They're all trying to grasp onto how that was possible. Taka, Kiyo, Sayaka, Hina, Toko and Chihiro were siblings???
Makoto was definitely the most shocked, probably overreacting kinda shocked. Like, a loud ass "HUH?!" But he does think it makes sense. It made sense why they were all hanging out together everyday and all walked home (along with Mondo. But that's because Taka and Mondo are dating.) He's glad for a lot of them, though he is confused on how the Ishimarus were able to adopt them. But he doesn't say anything.
Leon definitely used that to ask Taka about Sayaka and how he can get a date with Sayaka. Right after his moment of shock. As he never saw that coming. (He does think that Taka's dad is sleeping with everyone's parents and that's why they're siblings. But that's not it, he's just stupid.) "Damn, Taka, your dad is getting LAID?!" (I make myself laugh.)
Yasuhiro wasn't shocked at all, given he already had knowledge of it all. Takaaki and his mom talk, they're best friends. He was the first to find out.
Mondo also wasn't shocked at all. Given he's dating Taka and all. But he was surprised at the fact Hiro knew before him. Mondo's the one dating Taka! How come he found out second???
Celeste said she figured as much, she all assumed they were good friends and that was the reason why they all walked home together. But they were siblings. Which made sense whenever she'd see Hina and Sayaka care each other, like if they were sisters. Or why Taka always brought Hina's swimwear whenever she'd forget. Things like that.
Byakuya didn't care that much. He was just surprised on how Takaaki Ishimaru could pay for the expenses of so many kids. Given what he knows about the Ishimarus financial situation. (He'd be very much aware of it, given the Togami and Ishimaru past bonds business-wise.) Then again, they can use the money Sayaka gets from being an idol. But he knows that they wouldn't. (He thinks it's foolish.) He just makes a remark and goes about his time.
Hifumi just exclaimed in shock. Just as surprised as all the others. (I really don't know what to write, lol. We can either go him being a perv about it or just what I wrote.)
Junko and Mukuro don't really care. Junko just says that she's kind of surprised that Taka of all people can have so many siblings. And not get annoyed by that. She finds it funny. Mukuro really doesn't care. She shrugs and says "Okay."
Sakura is at least happy that her friends are happy as siblings. Especially those who don't have the best home life.
Kyoko smirks and says she knew all along. Causing everyone to be surprised. But then again, she's very observant. Plus her dad is the headmaster, they keep a profile on everyone and their home life. Things like that.
Class 77 is just as surprised! Two underclassmens dads just adopted their classmates. There was definitely a lot of chatter about it throughout the class.
Hajime is surprised. But he doesn't have much of a reaction. Good on them! He can't say he's so surprised, but he is.
Fuyuhiko knew that Peko was part of the Ishimarus. She doesn't hide that much from him. So he doesn't react. He doesn't even react for the others.
(Uhhh, I don't know what to write for the others because my brain is so deaddd. I just repeated for most of these ughhhh. I'm sad I haven't played SDR2 or else I'd be able to write moreee. I'll get back to you later. I'm sorry!!! That's all I have!!! It's so badddd!!! I'll try to find my original post.)

(Take this pudding as an apology.)

Hi there ^^ this is for the Danganronpa ask: 3, 9, 13, 22, and 25. Also 35 if the other questions aren't already over the limit here 😅
3. Did you have a character you hated at first then fell in love with later?
For me, it was Fuyuhiko ngl. Like, going into SDR2 blind, my fave was actually Peko before it was Chiaki. Finding out that Peko's reason to murder and subsequently the cause of her death was because she was connected to Fuyuhiko got me really upset lol. Though looking back on it now, I can only imagine that he blames himself for all that as much as I did. He's a stand up guy with a cool eyepatch to me now.
9. Who's your least favorite protagonist?
Uh unfortunately its Makoto. I OFC do not hate him, not one bit , but to me he's just a little guy and I do like it that way but I didn't latch onto him as hard as say Hajime or Kaede.
13. What's your OTP?
I live and breath Hinanami if it wasn't already clear lol. Non-DR OTP is Sulemio from Gundam The Witch from Mercury. I haven't made any full art of them yet because there's already so much good art of them going around whereas for hinanami, the art for them has died down in recent times, and I am here to fill the hinanami shaped void in my heart.
22. A setting I'd like to see for a killing game: uh maybe some military compound to poke fun at the military-industrial complex idk, I need to give this more thought
25. What character surprised you when they were revealed to be the blackened?
I'd love to say that I was shocked when Chiaki was revealed as the traitor and blackened in Chapter 5, but unfortunately I saw it coming as it felt like the game was hyping up something especially bad happening by then. It was really Kaede that surprised me the most. Like c'mon a murder protag was unheard of and I went into it blind, how could I have seen it coming?
35. Honest opinion on the end of V3?
When I was playing through it I thought it was hype af, and I can see why its ending was was pretty controversial. I might try to put my thoughts on its ending in more detail in the future but overall I liked it then and I still think it's a good send of the series now. ( Especially if I allow it to make me believe that DR1 and SDR2 are works of fiction in-universe and therefore hinanami is canon and alive trust me my uncle is Kodaka)

anon is misunderstanding or misinterpreting ym ask, I never at all expressed happiness over fuyuhiko's attempted suciide. In fact, it's the opposite. I was horrified at that scene and the mere idea or fact that saionji almost caused him to kill himself for real. fuyuhiko was a horrible person, but he did not deserve that. Besides, unlike hiyoko, he actually faced the consequences of his actions in a very brutal way and he chose to take a step back and realize how fucked up his murder was.
Note: This is a response to this other anon-sent ask.
Thank you kindly for responding to that other anon and clarifying your original ask.
Y'know, we've all kinda glossed over the fact that Fuyuhiko didn't actually kill Mahiru. He didn't even ask/order Peko to do so. Peko took that action on her own as part of her identity as his bodyguard (and someone who clearly loved him). And though I suppose that was because Fuyuhiko was about to do it just because he was pissed off that Mahiru dared to lecture him about revenge being wrong or whatever. Still, the fact remains that Hiyoko can't really scream at/blame the person most directly responsible.
Tumblr media
"...but like, lethally."
Let's dig deeper into the Hiyoko/Fuyuhiko/Peko/Mahiru drama with some additional asks, shall we?
Tumblr media
Did she have a right to be mad? Yeah, she does. Because Fuyuhiko was going to kill Mahiru for absolutely no good reason. So, sure. He was prepared to become a murderer for "revenge"... even though Fuyuhiko is apparently too stupid to realize that the Twilight Syndrome game clearly indicates he ALREADY got revenge on the person who killed his sister! That really makes his elaborate revenge plan look misguided from the jump. It's like he just wants to lash out at SOMEBODY because he saw that photo of dead Natsumi and had to learn for the first time — the second first time due to them losing their previous memories — that she'd been killed.
Tumblr media
"'Because if so, I'll 'E' you next... wait."
Fuyuhiko was still in full acting-like-a-little-shit mode at this point in the story, so I guess him constantly lashing out and being quick to anger is pretty par for the course. But his anger at Mahiru for daring to suggest that maybe murder is bad is pretty much what got Mahiru murdered. That's plenty of reason to be pissed at him. And it's not like Peko is around for Hiyoko to blame anymore... so yeah, I get why she's pissed at Fuyuhiko.
Do I think the fact that she's an awful bully somehow strips her of the right to be upset that someone else was murdered? No, I don't think that way. I think they're separate issues. Just because Hiyoko doesn't have much moral high ground to stand on doesn't mean she can't still be upset over someone getting killed. Although I'm not necessarily defending telling someone else to kill themselves, either... that shit is pretty extreme. I would agree that she doesn't have the right to be saying that, because damn near nobody should be saying shit like that.
Tumblr media
That's up to interpretation, but I think when he charged in to try and protect Peko, he was already willing to die to save her. And then he fails... which naturally fills him with a big dose of despair. Since sacrificing himself was already on his mind AND his body was already pretty fucked up from his failed protection effort, I suspect it wasn't too big a leap for him to go from there to "fuck it, maybe I should just die for inspiring Peko's actions, getting her and Mahiru killed, etc."
Tumblr media
And yet? I personally think most people who commit or try to commit suicide are likely to feel a screaming desire to stop it once they truly start dying. Because we all have inherent self-preservation instincts. So I bet there legit was a horrifying realization moment that accompanied the moment he felt himself slicing into his own side.
Tumblr media
I'd like to think that if Fuyuhiko truly died, she'd definitely have a mental break over it. I don't believe Hiyoko's actually a full-on sociopath, y'know? Actually causing a death with her words would probably (hopefully?) put her through the mental wringer and hopefully generate some kind of self-reflection. I'm sure she'd struggle and try to deny any culpability at first, getting pissed at the suggestion that it was her fault. But I don't think she'd be able to run from the guilt forever. It might not be easy for her to change, but I imagine she'd come out the other side of her breakdown acting at least somewhat better on some level.

I would like to ask, if you don't What would your Evolnation Ocs think about my TWST Gardevoir Masaki midorimiya
(Thank you for the ask!)
Tumblr media

How my Evolnation OCs think of Masaki Midorimiya
. . . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ [Deyece Dew] ࿐ྂ
As you enter the Botany Club, you see the person you were looking for which is "Deyece Dew", because you're here to interview him about the Idol Masaki Midorimiya. You walk up to him to introduce yourself, he turns to face you and listens along with what you need to say.
"So you want to know what I think about Masaki Midorimiya? This is kinda bad timing cause I'm currently in the middle of making new poison for the Botany Club.. But it's alright, I'll answer." Deyece starts to think, tapping his foot on the floor. He hums and finally gets his answer, "He's a talented young idol, extremely passionate in what he does as you can see from his dancing, which is really cool in my opinion. Through his dances, you can see his emotions, true emotions, he can convey them well through a dance rather than words. As I've heard that he can be blunt." He faces away from you as he takes out the poison vial and places it on the table.
"I appreciate how blunt he is, he isn't the one to use white lies and tell the people the truth, but probably the truth comes off a little too harsh, but I respect that. I also heard he accidentally roasted someone, and I think that would be the harsh part of how blunt he is." Deyece explains as his hands are opening the vial and placing it on a little plate for experimenting and making a new solution. "Though I have never talked to him, I have seen him multiple times during Idol competitions and seeing how he interacts with his peers." He further his explains his answer.
"Like as I said he's a good kid just trying to go through HSA as an Idol. By no means being blunt and a little naive is bad, but I heard he gets misinterpreted a lot." He continues on with sigh, "As a producer, I worry about Idols who get misinterpreted as something they aren't, it can really mess up an Idol's reputation. An Idol without fans is like a Leader with no Followers. Your fans make you the idol, and that's why I'm worried about his career if Peko's fans continue to misinterpret his personality."
"That's all? Alright thank you for coming to interview me." Before he continues on his experiment, you ask him another question. "You wanna know where the Chiyoko Celeb is? Hm.." He hums as he thinks. "He is either in the big tree big tree sleeping- Yes I meant inside the tree.. Or he's in the Practice room that was assigned to us." He informs you.
As you leave he waves you goodbye and goes back to making a new poison.

. . . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ [Chiyoko Celeb] ࿐ྂ
As you look for Chiyoko, you go check the big tree and there he was, up on the big tree taking a nap, you call out to him until you finally woke him up and got his attention.
"Hm..? Oh! Hello there! I didn't think someone who isn't Dewwy could find me. Did he tell you where I was?" As you nod, he giggles as he sees you under the tree. You yell to him about how you wanted to interview him, "You want to interview me? Of course! Wait- Let me come down, it'll only take a second." He slowly starts to float down to the ground, finally making his feet touch solid ground.
"Chiyoko Celeb at your service, what can I do for you?" He smiles at you softly as he tilts his head. "Oh! You want to know what I think of Masaki Midorimiya? Sure!" He speaks enthusiastically, as he's never been interviewed and is ready to give his honest answers.
"I think he's a talented kid, there was this one time I was walking to my practice and I saw him dance. I think he really shows a lot of emotion when dancing, you can definitely see how passionate he is." He say, showing how he really admires Masaki for his talent.
"But I have never interacted with him, so I can't really form strong opinions. But I'll never understand why some people dislike him, I think... It was the reason for being blunt?" He thinks, unsure if the reason he's disliked was for being blunt. He thinks a little more until he snaps his finger, "Oh right! Yeah he's generally disliked by Dorm Leader's fans because of how 'Cold and Blunt' he is." Before he continues, he catches his breath.
"But I don't think it's that bad. I just hope that maybe people will come to like him more, what makes an idol is their fans, if people will continue to dislike him for the wrong reasons, he'll lose his purpose of being an idol.. Which is to Entertain" He says to you with a slight frown on his face.
"Will that be all? Alright! I'm glad you came to me for an interview. Oh and before you leave..." He turns back towards the tree and flies up, clearly looking for something. "Alright I found it!" You hear him say up the tree, he comes down and brings you a flower crown. "This is for you! I'll me to put it on you- Oh wait you have a leaf on your hair." He plucks it out before he places it on your head. He smiles seeing you wear the flower crown he made. "Alright bye bye! It was fun meeting you!"
He waves you goodbye as you take your formal leave. You finally have the answers of Deyece Dew and Chiyoko Celeb. You leave satisfied.

This is me when making this idea and therefor doing it for no reason than my own pleasure and buisness. Please read ahead in your own accord and give me your thoughts afterwards!
My Danganronpa AU where at least most of the cast are married or related to each other!
Tumblr media
This family dynamic needs some explaining to do and this is mostly thanks to my brain not connecting shit or my sister or Tumblr/Reddit doing it's magic!
Okay, so, in this AU/Headcanon Taka's dad was married to a woman who gave birth to twins, Celestia and Taka, however she run off with both of them after they where Mr. Ishimaru managed to get Taka back but was too late to get Celestia back as she was in the system in adoption. She later on gets adopted into the family she has in canon.
So technically Gundham is a bridge of sorts of the five and here's why! He's technically the only one out of the set to have the same mum and dad! When Taka and Celestia's bio mum ran off she ran off to her new boa whom she had out Lord of Ice Gundham Tanaka! Buuuuuuuuut that man wasn't too faithful cause he had an affair with the mother of Ibuki. In "revenge" of this Taka's and Celestia's bio mum went back and got with her ex which resulted in her pregnant with Peko whom, without telling either man she was pregnant in the first place, gave up for adoption. But after this she did start caring for Gunham more and became a more beloved mum. Gundham's parents broke up in this process and he went and lived with his mother while his dad went off and started a relationship with Ibuki's mother who had Kokichi years later.
Sadly, during this time Ibuki was taken away from the home due to it being unfit for her and she wound up in the Foster System, same goes for Kokichi after he was five.
EDIT: I decided to add Mikan in the family as well! She's older than Ibuki by a year, still not sure how to write her other than saying she's Tanaka's sister who the dad took during the messy divorce. EDIT 2: After popular vote Maki is added onto the list! To be fair I was a bit confused how to add her, similar to Mikan, I was going to add her as a twin to Peko but then I thought on it more and decided she was the final child born after Peko but Tanaka's, Ibuki's, Mikan's, and Kokichi's father had custody over her to "get back" at her getting back with her ex husband for a second. His wife got bored and put her up for adoption so yeah-
Tumblr media
Yet another case of very confusion yet somehow will make sense!
Mahiru is the second born after Leon, Himiko was the third conceived right after, and Masaru was the last of the family tree.
Starting with Leon's mother and father meeting, getting married, and having him life was great. Until Leon became old enough to realize his mother was being abused and stood up to her, which resulted in him being abused before the man disappeared into the night never to be seen again. After this he was given a somewhat split custody of living not by the father but by the rest of Leon's family especially when his mother left him to deal with her own trauma but promised to return when she is "capable of raising him" her words.
Some time after the separation she fell in love with another man and mad Mahiru soon after. Sadly, the relationship didn't last so long due to the trauma of her first marriage and Mahiru was sent to live with her father.
I would like to edit and say Himiko has the same dad not the same mum as the others
Of course the dad met other women and got them pregnant, Himiko's mother leaving him before he even knew of her pregnancy and then he met Masaru's mother and well his sad life began
As for Soda and Kaito (I can never remember if Soda is his first or last name I think Kazuichi's his last name is he in different areas?)? They're cousins of different sides! Soda is the cousin of Leon and Mahiru from the mum's side while while Kaito is the cousin of Himiko and Masaru from the dad's side.
And yes I know I forgot Kanon, I will fix that mistake here and one day on the list!
Also, does anyone else headcanon Gundham and Soda being once friends when they attended the same middle school?
Tumblr media
Oh look at that, another semi broken family!
This one is purely based off bad mums all around!
So, Naegi and Komaru are obviously siblings in this AU but their dad had a brother who is both Kirumi's and Rantaro's father who passed on when out Makoto siblings were too young to know they had cousins.
The mum, however, put them in the system where they were separated and have very faint memories of the other like a "imaginary friend" situation. However, prior of that marriage she had Nagito and like her kids later on she left him alone. Though I'd like to change that a bit. Let's say Nagito was born more so as a surrogate baby. Like the Komaeda paid her to have their child and she gave him to them afterwards.
Hoping to get rich, mother went and slept with a rich man and got pregnant, however said man refused to accept her calls. So what does she do? She left her baby in front of the home of the father's family. . . The Towa's family
Tumblr media
And this is just a fun either half-sibling, full sibling but parents divorced scenario, and/or plain "my dad married your mum" scene!

🧸 with Kaeru and James, Kumo and Melanie or Peko and Pluck
Child Alert
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Recently there has been rumors of mythical creatures who show you Visions of the past of someone close to you through their sleep. Many didn't believe these rumors and even James jokes with his friend group about what could happen... yet late at night he felt like some kind of Fog engulf him and found himself back at a harbour... seeing a handsome Tall man and a little green haired boy fishing.
"Kaeru... you want to hold it too?"
"Yes Dad!! U... You... think we catch fishie today?"
"Listen son... all it takes is patience... like with friendship... you might now not feel close with the others in kindergarden but one day you might have many friends who care surrounding you."
"Yesh dad... I bwe pashient."
James let out a light chuckle... even that small he had this sunshine attitude about him he knew... he didn't want to disturb the two so he hid behind one of the boats and watched them catch the fish as another woman approached.
"Beloved, Kaeru, how did it go?"
"Mommy look."
He had the brightest smile showing her the small fish in his hand as the man out a Hand around her waist. Kaeru hugged her shortly.
"Out little son already has so much Talent... I hope others will see it too."
"Hiroshi, my dear husband, It will be fine... I am sure this smile will get many to accept him."
"I have confidence in him.. I just can't wait for him If he gets as popular as his dad."
"You *chuckling*"
His mother picked the little boy on her shoulders while the father carried the fish.
"Kaeru, do you want a reward, sweetheart?"
"D-Dangwo pleashe... as snacky."
Slowly the Fog catched up to James again as he woke up and smiled.
"He can be glad about his family and... I am happy his wish came true... I... just hope one day I can embrace Mom like this again as well... "
He decided not to tell Kaeru about that dream the Next day but smiled and put a Hand on His shoulder.
"Hey how about we go to eat some Dango today, my treat?"
"Really? That would make me very happy."
Yuzuha behind him chuckled.
"Does the invitation go to us all?"
Marcos joined in dramatically.
"Are we not good enough of friends you don't invite us... how dare you Jamie?"
"Fine... then I will invite all of You..."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similar to James Melanie was plagued by the creature as well... she was about to fall into bed in Ramshackle as she looked the creature into it's eyes... before feeling a Fog engulf her and as she woke up... she was stranded in a desert at night... a small flicker of a flame let her to a Bonfire outside of a small desert town... as she hid behind some walls and watched three kids play.. one of them looked very familiar.
"No fair Kumo, you are always so much faster."
"Tsuki... its cause you don't wear the right clothes for tag."
"Wait... Taiyo are you falling asleep again?"
"Hmmmnnnn... Huh... oh my bad."
So it was Kumo...sure looked Luke him even if he didn't have his streaks and Tattoo yet. The three layed in the Sand as Tsuki shared a blanket with Taiyo and Kumo looked up at the Stars.
"You really love them, huh?"
"Looking at them makes me wonder what is out there... how many of these are worlds we could visit..."
Taiyo looked at him with a smile.
"As Long as we do it together... as friends... I just hope I am not a burden."
"TaiTai... if not Kumo and I carry you."
"And what do you propose we do if we get attacked, airhead..."
"Hey!"
The three started laughing as Kumo spoke up again.
"I want something that connects us... so even if we get separated I want to remember you two."
"Oh I know... the Adults have something like Symbols on their skin... how about that."
"Don't we have to be old for that?"
Kumo sighed and pulled out something from his pocket giving each of the Girls small stones, one a sun, one a moon and one a Star.
"Till then let's keep these... as memory. "
Melanie looked at a necklace Kumo gabe her before... a heart stone... it looked very similar to those... just much more care put into it.
"I said one day... once I meet the right person for me I give them one of these as prove that I care... and till then I have to practise to make these better."
"They look awesome."
"Thank you Kumo."
Melanie blushed a little hearing that... the three friends put their hands on anothers and smiled at another.
"Best friends forever?"
"Of course."
"Yes."
Melanie accidently stumped over a Vase nearby in worry of the fog catching up to her... until she woke up... holding her head.
"Was this a dream or real... I-I should talk to him tomorrow... no that be stupid..."
The next day Kumo approached her first.
"Are you alright? I heard some creatures are lose recently who enter people Dreams."
He held her Hand gently as she smiled at him pulling out the necklace...
"I saw a Vision... how you made these for your friends..."
His face went red as he looked away.
"Well... I did mean what I said back then... I wanted to make something special... that makes you remember me."
Her face went red as well...
"I still cherish it... but I do h-hope one day I can get to meet your friends as well."
He pulled her into an embrace and held her close.
"I hope that day happens."

Pluck was held by that same Fog as well... eventually waking up at a more landish place and hearing the laughter of a little girl... seeing from afar the blond hair he knew excactly who it was.
"Peko-sama was already so cute this young...I feel so happy to see this."
He saw two adults come out the house and smile at her.
"Peko, dont you want to come in, you need to learn for school. "
"I don't wanna go to school... I wanna play every day and nap when I want to."
Her father sighed and leaned down.
"Listen... you are our sweet dear Gold child but you also have to one day do more than just play... maybe you will find things that are more fun.. you will have more friends as I kindergarden and Still be able to Nap home."
She pouted and nodded with some tears in her eyes as her parents left... Pluck who wanted to look closer stumbled Into the Garden by accident... at least He was lucky this dream gave him his usual cat Mask... or else he would have worried little Peko might find him a weirdo... yet instead of fearing him she went to him and patted his head.
"You are a big kitty, whats your name Mr.Cat?"
Those big eyes looked In wonder at him he could tell anything about the truth.
"M-mr. Cat is alright little Lady... I think your parents are right... you should go to school... maybe one day you will find someone that can buy you everything and be there for you with anything."
"Really? I can find someone that useful?"
"I know you will!"
The little girl Spun around happily as he got engulfed by the Fog again. Still kinda of happy about this Vision.
The next day He was surprised to see Peko call him from afar.
"Hey Plucky... how about we tend to some strays today?"
"Peko-sama... you would?"
"I want Mr. Squiggles to not feel uneasy around them and... somewhat I had a memory of a cat last night."
Behind his mask he smiled happily... maybe he did have an effect on her... or is this another dream where she willingly puts up with him... either way he wanted to cherish it.

Peko’s pretty much a giant kid who needs to understand basic life stuff.
Tumblr media
What else did Natsumi trick you about?
Tumblr media
Well...there was this one time when she told me she saw a fortune teller and said I was going to make a fool out of myself...
Tumblr media
And that the only way to prevent it was to skip and hop around school wearing 3 bright top hats, smelly fish in each hand and a sack of onions and garlic on my back and going, "I'm a little mer-pixie" all-day...
Tumblr media
And you did that...?
Tumblr media
It took them 4 hours to get the scent off me...
Tumblr media
Wow....that's pretty silly...
Tumblr media
Indeed... Natsumi was often a trickster, not unlike Hiyoko. Always causing trouble everywhere.
Tumblr media
Eh, she did a couple things good.
Tumblr media
One time around Valentine's Day, me and Natsumi got a bunch of chocolate while Sato didn't get any. And Natsumi told her that she would get a bunch from this magical creature called, "Arthur Valentine". Who only comes to give lots of chocolate to kids who received none the very next day.
Tumblr media
That's just silly....
Tumblr media
Yeah I thought so too, but come next day, what did Sato find?
Tumblr media
Boom. A whole bunch of chocolate and candy on her desk addressed to her.
Tumblr media
R-really...? H-how...?
Tumblr media
Well, here's the best part...
Tumblr media
Natsumi did it.
Tumblr media
She got there really early and gave all her chocolate to Sato. I snapped a picture to prove it.
Tumblr media
I never knew that. It seemed Natsumi cared a lot about her.
Tumblr media
Yeah, yeah she did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hahahahaha!"
*step, step, step...*
Tumblr media
Hmm?
Tumblr media
Ooooh! Someone's happy! Good morning you two!

Hey Sonia, morning!

Aaaand we're back at full speed with another great episode wrapped up! With the last one being a mixed bag of great things tied up with not-so-great elements along the way, it made me like this episode a lot more than I feel I would have if the last one didn't have those issues I brought up in previous reviews since a good chunk of the major ones feel like they've been dealt with here to form another really solid entry to the storyline. While the character dialogue is still a little rough, which is understandable, it's a big thing to work so I didn't expect it to change completely overnight, the pacing issues from the last episode have been completely taken care of. No scene felt as if it went on way too fast or dragged for more than it should and it worked wonderfully to create an episode where each scene flows really well into the next one and we really feel the plot moving forward with each new segment. A great quality of life upgrade from the previous instalment!
And while I'm talking about things that aren't necessarily super tied together to the episode itself, I figured I should give my two cents on the Lore bits we got during the long wait between episodes. First and foremost; I found them a pretty nice way to spend time during the sprite making process and it kept the blog from becoming completely inactive, and they actually proved to be nicer than I expected them to be since I was under the impression that there would essentially be just recaps of things we saw through the episodes thus far, but instead they were their own lore building pieces which provided a lot of small information we didn't even know about and or that I found them very enjoyable to go through. The one about the afterlife theater specifically eased a few of my worries about its role in the story, even though I'll remain wary of it for the time being, just to be safe.
Now, onto things that happen within the episode; I was surprised at how much we saw of Jabberwock island and the DR2 cast on this one. Since the last episode ended with Nagi going on a break I was under the impression that we wouldn't see them all that much and spend the bulk of it going to other areas of the story, and while we did see a lot of the other parties, we still received a lot of Jabberwock island content, with a good chunk of it being the aftermath of the last episodes events showing how the many different characters have turned to deal with the situations presented moving forward. Truly, we had a bit of everything; The Remnants of despair finally realizing how much of an asshole they were and apologizing to Nagi for how they treated her, Koyuki deciding she wants to distance herself from her class once she can be set free, Nagi coming forth and telling others that she has devine luck and warning them about Void’s plans, Makoto finally giving up on his idea of reopening HPA, Miaya realizing she failed as a psychologist by trying to use the program to save Satoko's bitchass and formerly apologizing to Nagi and the Remnants for it, which in turn led to the NWP being finished sooner than the previous due date and while I can think of a certain group that definitely didn't take that well, I'll talk about them in a later segment.
A highlight of the DR2 side of things to me was the remnants of despair all leaving jabberwock to assist in some smaller missions around the place, all of which featured the remnants realizing how the harm they caused during the tragedy affected areas they didn't even imagined, which in turn pushed them to come forth and really strive to undo the wrong they've done. Peko’s one specifically not only revealed to her how her mother just wanted to protect her and didn't abandon her for no reason, and now she wants to try and save her from the HSS if she's still in their clutches by now, which is something I am really looking forward to seeing whenever the FF tackles the group and their personal little drug dealer. Overall these scenes served to show a great deal of character development for many different people, but this episode also turned out to be a lot more Nagi centric than i expected it to be, delving into her relationship with Hajime, lack of confidence in her own skills and even her first real direct clash with the voids. Enjoyable stuff overall but I don't have much to say about that corner of the episode when other segments and characters caught more of my attention than the one we see in literally every episode.
In fact, out of everyone from the Future foundation side of things, the cherry on top of the cake, in my opinion, has to have been Hiyoko during this episode. Her role may not have been the biggest but it was incredible enjoyable to see her finally turning over a new leaf and try to change through the episode, her talk with Kotoko being the one that ultimately brings her to consider change as well gotta be my absolutely favorite scene of the episode because even though Hiyoko is not in the place where she can say she's fully changed yet, she is putting in so much effort that she is tete to offer guidance to someone who's in a position she was just in the last episode! And the fact that Ibuki could actually talk to Kotoko fine but let Hiyoko take the lead was just perfect, can't wait to see where you take Hiyoko's character through the course of the story. Another DR2 character that's been turning over a new leaf this episode was Nagito, who's really starting to see not only how bad HPA was but also how much harm his old mentality caused to him and others, his heart to heart with Hajime as they were heading to the amusement park was the highlight of the entire segment to me as it felt like he was finally leaving his old ways and stepping into the light in a sense.
Leaving the DR2 side of things, in a way, this felt like quite the Another series centric episode as well since not only followed up with the Kisaragi foundation’s mission to locate Akane's body, but we also saw changes within Void and the very beginning of their ultimate downfall with them all getting doxxed by the end of the episode and fleeing to god knows where. These were actually my favorite segments of the whole episode, as we got to learn about a couple new characters and the SDRA2 storyline really started to pick some steam. Starting with our not-so-good good guys, the main source of Kisaragi foundation content this episode was Setsuka and Naoto’s mision but more specifically; Naoto and Mai’s proper debut into the story. Yes, I'm aware Naoto has been around for a handful of episodes now, but when his entire character could be resumed to “Yes, Kinjo, sir.” I might as well count this as the introduction to his characters than whatever episode he actually appeared in for the first time, especially given his and Mai’s connection to one another.
And MAN isn't Naoto just as bad as I thought he'd be from the little we saw of him in previous episodes. The guy’s only focus is work to the point where Setsuka had to remind him to eat or take bathroom breaks, furthermore, it really seems like he actively shuts himself off from bonding with the other foundation workers or even Setuka who's working with him temporarily. This behavior is highlighted when Mai comes into the picture and while she speaks of him as an actual friend, Naoto talks of her like she's nothing more than a work partner. Worst of it all is that it really feels like Naoto doesn't want to get over the deaths of his family, seeing as he talks about his one night stand with Mai as of he cheated on his fiance even though she's been dead for years and outright reacts with anger and avoidance when the anons pointed out he should open up to others and seek help. This paints a picture that his “auto-pilot mode” isn't there because he's depressed and can't bring himself to do anything but follow orders, but it's instead almost like an anti-coping mechanism where Naoto piles himself with work so he doesn't have to go through the stages of grief, which in turn I suppose makes him feel as if his family isn't gone? As if him getting over their deaths means they're gone for real and that seems like the one thing Naoto doesn't want the most.
It's honestly a really depressing situation to see play out, especially with Setsuka being there and trying to nudge him in the right direction only for Naoto to dismiss her efforts. But you know who else latches onto work to avoid working through their issues? That's right, despite the fact that their personalities couldn't be any more different, Mai seems to share this behavior of Naoto's when it comes to working at the foundation to the point that she's happy, and downright impatient, to get back to work there despite everyone else talking about how terrible the workplace conditions are. This is probably what led those two to grow closer, alongside the fact that both are the last members of their family and in high position within their divisions. And since I'm talking about her, I might use this as a space to say I was wrong about what kind of character she would be. When we first heard of her through the Lore bits i thought she would have been an antithesis to Bashira; whereas Bashira defends Ayame to no end and refuses to believe she could be a killer out of her own volition, Mai would follow Tsurugi's beliefs heavily and condemn her niece as a vile murdered, justifying her position as 3rd in command despite her ties to one of DRA’s killers.
Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong about her, which actually paints a very interesting picture regarding the higher-up on Tsurugi's side of the foundation, as neither Naoto nor Mai actually follow Tsurugi's black and white beliefs and only follow his orders without question out of running away from their own personal problems. Which means that those two can probably be reasoned with when it comes to tackling Kinjo's poor management of the foundation, unlike a certain blue haired clown which, so far, seems to be his most loyal follower. Kinda like how Nagi was able to get Rei to change her mind about devine luck users, that served almost like a parallel to what Tsurugi was doing in the episode, whereas he sunk deeper in his beliefs and now wants to arrest all ultimates*, Rei actually took a step back and reevaluated her views on divine luck users, which was interesting to see play out especially when she directly clashed with Tsurugi when he wanted to put down Akane once they located her body. Though I fear he will use Syobai stealing it soon after as “proof” that they should have followed his ways and blame Rei for what happened.
Back to the characters in the spotlight, more specifically on their relationship. So far it's early to say if they're meant to be a future pairing or not, but the fact that Naoto described Sarina as calm and patient only for Mai to show up and be the exact opposite of that feels like too much of a coincidence to not have been intentional. Opposites attract is a trope as old as time, but even if nothing blossoms between those two I'd still like to see how their dynamic plays out when there isn't any post drunken fling awkwardness roaming around, especially since I couldn't quite understand what tone this issue was meant to have when it was brought up, if it was meant to be something comedic like Hotaru walking in on Hajime and Nagi doing the deed or actually taken seriously given how uncomfortable Naoto appeared. Another nippick of mine comes in regard to Mai specifically since she feels like a bit of a meathead from what we've seen thus far, but this is just her introduction so I'm sure we'll see her being proficient at her work eventually. I'd love to see her planning or leading a mission in some future episode, and I'm sure she will come around even in non Kisaragi foundation manners seeing as she used to be Sae’s bodyguard that saved her from some kind of attack in the past. Considering the track record of a certain teacher around her, it wouldn't surprise me if she had something to do with these matters.
Continuing on the topic of Another series related characters who were introduced in this episode, how could I not mention Sachiko? After learning of her sad existence and Utsuro's mess of a family I think it's safe to say that we were all curious to see how she's doing and what role she would play in the overall narrative. While her scene reads to me as a way to tell us she won't actually get involved in the whole SDRA2 storyline shenanigans, seeing as she's being taken care of by a Future foundation agent far away from where everything is happening, it was still nice to check on how she's doing and see she as been recovering from her horrific childhood in the hands of their parents. It's bittersweet in a way as it gives me the feeling that this could have been Utsuro's life as well if Yasuyuki had broken into his daughter's house just a little sooner and rescued him. But for what it is, it was nice seeing Sachiko doing well and her relationship with Hiroko was really cute and wholesome.
Onto our bad apples of the Another series, gotta say, I enjoyed the villain’s part in this episode exponentially more than in the last one since not only did they move the SDRA2 storyline along quite a bit but we also got to see Void in action in ways that weren't just constant failing for the sake of comedy like the last episode. Not to say those were bad, it's just not the kind of thing that really interests me, so I liked seeing them act and succeed or fail to varying degrees here. Syobai managed to steal Akane's body, Emma and Hajime stole the info on the NGOH ages but not without exposing themselves as targeting them, Kokoro stole the buggy version of the NWP and Nikei and Iroha failed miserably in trying to get Hajime to side with them, aside from being the one that jump started their eventual exposee in the first place. The scene at the end with Nagi scaring the shit out of them by the end was absolutely amazing, and this whole in the run status of their makes me believe we'll start to see the rest of the SDRA2 disappear seeing as Void is essentially on a time crunch to start their killing game before the Kisaragi foundation comes for their necks.
Which brings me to theorize the one thing that's always on the anons minds ever since these characters began to gain relevance in the story; Will the SDRA2 be brought back to life from the simulation or will they remain dead? We know from canon that the deceased cast remains dead after the game was over since not only was the program incredibly glitchy and held together by sweat and duct tape, but also because Mikado's plan was never to help the voids anyway so keeping them dead is actually advantageous to his goals. However, given the nature of this blog a lot of people have been wondering if this time around the characters will actually return to life. I originally thought this wouldn't actually be the case and actually felt my idea had been validated by the inclusion of the afterlife theater since, with the cast dying, that would be the place where they finish their character arcs or get their comeuppance, after all I sincerely doubt that with a place like that on the table we won't see a single character go through permanent death around the course of the story. But overtime there were a lot of lil bits of information that began cracking parts of my beliefs away, first there's small comments from the mod every once in a while when someone brought this up, then there's the connection between Kokoro and a certain character that does exist in the blog as well, which I won't namedrop or get into detail here to avoid spoilers as I'm sure a percentage of readers here don't read RA’s Voidship sketches as well. But for those who do keep up with her work, you guys probably have a very good idea of who the orange line connected Kokoro to in that family tree Mod Carol sent a while back.
But the main instance that drives me to think their fates will go differently here was the finisher to the blog's Christmas special. Yes, I’m aware the mistletoe asks aren't canon, I do feel like the characterization on them matters, especially since the mod herself had a conversation with Hibiki where she leads me to believe things won't be so bleak for the cast around here. So what do you think, Critic anon? Well, my personal theory is that while the non-void members of the SDRA2 cast will be brought back without issue, the voids will remain permadead an get their comeuppance from Utsuro himself once they arrive in the afterlife teather. Since their luck is basically running out, I could see their deaths in the sim being permanent as a consequence of the luck reversal, plus what better way to trash them than those words coming from their god himself? Especially with the threat of getting the Kizuna treatment or being erased from existence in the table.
Now that we're got positives and theories out of the way, it's time for the downsides of this episode, which will be quite short since I already expressed my biggest complains about this episode in a previous ask, so what I'll talk about here are very minor issues or straight up nippicks that I felt was worth mentioning. The thing is that while Hiyoko and Kotoro’s talk was my absolute favorite part of the whole chapter, I actually didn't enjoy most of the Towa city task force segment here, which surprised me in a way because I expected to dislike them because of a ghost channeling of Kotoko's parents, which ended up not even happening in this episode, since it plays into a trope I dislike, but my actual distate for these segments of the episode came from minor things that sorta piled up in my head an I found myself not very interested to keep reading whenever we cut back to the crew. The main thing to me was Kanon yelling at Kotoko over what she did to her. Now, she had absolutely every right to dislike her and make that clear, in fact, this is the kind of thing Kotoko needed to hear in order to really take in the damage she caused to others, but Kanon constantly repeating that she raped her over and over through the scene felt such a tactless execution of a serious topic that it took me out of the scene and I just didn't feel good reading through the rest of it. Another thing that bothered me was the whole Shoji debacle, I'm sorry but you're telling me that with everything awful that happened to the WOH that Junko and Monaka could exploit to get them to turn to their side the thing that actually drove them to that point was a photo of a random guy being a pedo? It's just so random and disconnected from things regarding these characters that it really felt like a needless inclusion of Ocs in an issue to me. And speaking of Shoji, his sister and was-going-to-be adopted dad were the first instance where I agree with RA that there's way too many Ocs in this blog because when those two stepped into the picture I had zero recollection of why they were there or what the relationship between Naoki and Yuzuha even was for her to be looking for him so badly. Onto the more nippick-y side of things, I think the reveal of Toko’s relative would have benefited from happening late in the episode, because Toko questioning if she should go to jail and then almost immediately after meeting with a long lost relative that told her to do just that felt way too convenient to feel natural and don't really get where this huge worry over telling Komaru that Toko will go to jail eventually comes from? They're betsfriends, sure, but sh never striked me as THAT dependent on Toko to the point she'll have a mental breakdowns or something hearing the news like the characters seemed to be worried she would.
But overall, great episode! I do think I had more fun with this than the last and I really can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
*For the record, I'm still not happy with how Tsurugi acted in that scene with Mayumi, but I will take a step back and admit that I am somewhat biased when it comes to him, as Tsurugi is one of my favorite DRA characters and I feel like it's very easy to get him wrong and overdo with his terrible behaviours if you don't look into his character well enough.
-Critic anon
//Ah look at that, another review and yeah - I think I'll say that this episode was weirdly one of those I wasn't sure how it would go but in the end I quite enjoy since originally I was going to have both Future and Despair Episodes be of Nagi's vacation but I felt that was too short so I wanted to add more.
//Also yeah I think I was excited to get to writing about Naoto and Mai as character and to show that the 2 aren't just 'yes men' to Tsurugi but just have some issues going with them to sort out, Naoto's biggest issue is with grief and Mai just wanting to work and not taking a moment to herself to calm down - again it's something that is going to be address - also to address the one-night stand with Naoto and Mai, I play that up as a more comedic scene then anything serious and it was meant to show Naoto is like Haruhiko in some aspects.
//The thing with this episode is that it was mostly about the Another series and where the story was going and I do think that I'm planning for this to be the last time we see Void in a while since I do want to focus on Future Foundation and Monaca along with Satoko since again, those 2 are bad guys of course so I'm gonna and I think by now we already got enough of a good idea how flawed the other organizations are that Future Foundation's don't seem as bad but trust me, will start to see issues coming up next episode.
//Also yeah... I'm starting to realize the 'too many OCs' might be an issue and I think there's 2 more that we do have set but I think as soon as we are done, I'm not gonna add anymore until Hope Side: Re-Write since I do have some OCs show up there but that's about it. Mostly the reason I wanted to have more OCs is to make the world feel alive and open-worlded meaning that there are people effected by the tragedy but I do agree that I think we already got a big cast and I want to stop there.
//As for Naoki and Yuzuha, there whole thing is that they are meant to show how mentally mess up the kids with the mask were like at the orphanage along with Sunako claims being completely correct about them wanting blood and the stuff with Shoji was mostly Monaca was trying to assure the WoH that they were doing the right thing by saving Yuzuha from him but not realizing that his girlfriend is working with Junko as well aka saving Class 77-B was actually a good thing and trust me, he isn't the only one - meaning that Monaca's lies start to fall apart and starts to make them wonder if the other kids weren't abused and Monaca manipulated them to think they were 'saving them' and that was the whole point.
//As for the stuff with Tsurugi, while yes I do understand where your coming from and I do like Tsurugi as well but I did want to show that his reaction to learning that Juu had a very good reason to why he sided with Junko, especially if the Ultimate Defense Law being a thing and how even his view points are going to feel validated, especially what I got plan for the next episode...

2) Least Favorite Game?
okkk i wont take the easy way out and pick a spin offff. its probably THH. dont get me wrong I LOVE THH i mean obv. i wouldnt be this obsessed with danganronpa if i didnt like it. i legit played it in one week while muting all my online highschool classes (it was 2020).
but i just didnt connect to the cast on an individual level like i did with the others. like i love the cast as a whole and do have some characters i really like, but for the most part i like the characters less than the other games. thats really the only reason i put it at the bottom of the 3.
7) Favorite Class Trial From All The Games?
well i like the 2nd games trials the most and this is probably gonna be weird butttttt probably chapter 4's trial. the funhouse one. when i played it i actually paused playing danganronpa for like a month or something in the middle of the trial and then came back to it. i dont remember why, maybe i was frustrated but i dont think that was the case? anyway that trial is just so self contained and silly because of the setting that it just really sticks out to me.
9) Favorite Execution?
ok this is a hard one. i love kaitos cause of how meaningful it is and the fact that it references literally the opening of the first game. i also like makotos cause of how crazy it is in the first game to be like "wait am i gonna die??" i think people forget about how cool that moment is because of kaedes death. but if we are talking about like the mechanics of the execution i really like pekos cause of how it represents her seeing herself as being a tool cause shes being controlled in her execution.
32) Favorite Culprit?
i meannnnn kaito? lol cause like THAT CHAPTER AND INVESTIGATION IS JUST SO GOOD YOU GUYS!! but lets say that doesnt count cause of the nuance in it. probably celeste tbh. her plan was really complex but like realistically complex? i like that about the first game, the murder plans were some what more realistic. and hers was so active and just fun to be involved in as weird as that sounds. like i kinda knew something was up cause she was so active in it but i still liked how she did it.
36) Favorite Antag Character?
god this is so hard... i go back and forth between nagito and kokichi so much. i think nagito is more of a looming threat and just works better in the overall game as an antag. cause kokichi isnt really a real issue until he makes gonta kill miu. like he causes issues before but they aren't that serious. which tbh is just the difference between their characters. cause i believe kokichis words that he didnt actually like the killing game and was just playing along to try and stop it. which makes sense why he would be more observant at first rather than active. nagito is just all about getting the ultimates to prove themself, the killing game is more just a tool for him rather than something he is focused on. so it makes sense why hes active from the beginning. soooo idk i cant choose lol they are both so good. i love byakuya too but out of the 3 hes at the bottom.

naegi apologizes for being late, says he meant to show up sooner but he couldn't enter the simulation thanks to the virus. junko is like ooooh how convenient that you were able to show up at this exact moment!!! which even naegi realizes means she purposefully delayed his arrival till now, but he brushes that off and says it doesn't matter, he's here to rescue them. junko seems very enthusiastic about her old nemesis (i guess) being here, makes a big deal about how The Hero has arrived, and also acts insanely turned on whenever he talks, which i guess i'm not in a position to judge okay i got that out of my system and i'm not going to say anything else weird about voice acting i prommy. sorry.
it's briefly established that naegi is taking a pretty big risk by being here, as now that he's in the VR program he's as much under junko's control as everyone else here is. of course, naegi felt like he had to do this anyway. he explains to them that junko's lying about their dead friends coming back to life, and lays out her actual plan. essentially, since graduating was supposed to cause their irl memories/personalities to be overwritten with those of their VR avatars, and since the simulation wasn't set up to account for anyone dying, junko plans to overwrite the dead people's brains with her own personality. naegi adds that unfortunately any avatars that were deleted can't be recovered, which seems like bad news until one remembers that we already have proof the dead people weren't deleted (komaeda's the sole exception, he never reappeared when the simulation was glitching after chapter 5, but everybody else did). that's me pointing that out, though, the group hasn't thought of this.
junko downplays and acts like this isn't a big issue. she says she didn't lie, just omitted some details, and besides she thinks she can pretend to be all the dead people fairly convincingly so what's the problem? (obviously uh, no one wants that, but i also wanna point out that we already know from her attempt at portraying naegi earlier that her acting skills could use some work.) kuzuryuu in particular objects to this and she tells him she could pretend to be a version of peko that he'd like more, which of course does not go over well. then she announces that her grand plan is to use her initial batch of junko clones to turn more people into copies of herself and eventually create a "despair utopia" where everybody is a clone of her. or at least has her personality, i guess she doesn't really clarify how far she plans to go with it. hinata asks why not just kill them all then (she could use all their bodies if she did, right?) and naegi points out she can't because of the school trip rules. when junko usurped usami's moderator role, she was able to add her own rules, but couldn't change the existing ones, and one of the rules already in place stated that the "class teacher" can't directly interfere with the "students." hence — and this part junko herself confirms — she essentially ran the killing game to stall for time while she worked on her plan to copy her personality to their bodies. the killing game itself was never important to her and she wasn't truly invested in whatever the outcome would be. as she puts it, their lives are chump change to her.
when asked about her motivations, naegi says all junko's ever wanted to do is infect other people with despair and junko's like wow so true you get me fr! she confirms that she has no motivations beyond wanting to fill everybody with despair. i'm gonna talk about this more later, we'll move on for now. junko also confirms she's the one who got the reserve course to kill themselves and says they did it because they loved her. it's clearly a memory she cherishes. when everyone is horrified she's all, aww, you don't gotta act so shocked about it, you guys are acting like your parents, friends, and lovers all died at once! oh sorry that was really insensitive of me you guys definitely don't have any close relationships like that anymore :(

Hiyoko whimpered as she tried to tie her obi belt but couldn't "d-damn it..." She bit her lip trying not to cry as she wanted to do it the way mahiru shown her but she kept messing it up, the sound of someone knocking on her door cause her to stop what she was doing "go away!" She yelled annoyed.
"hiyoko, it me" fuyuhiko called out as he took a deep breath.
"I said go away!" Hiyoko yelled as he was the last person she ever wanted to see "I have more important things to do then talk to you"
"Hiyoko, I can't leave because I need to talk to you" fuyuhiko called out as he needed to make things right, the door slammed opened as Hiyoko was glaring at him, while trying to hold her kimono close.
"what do you want!" Hiyoko yelled at him.
"I-i had wanted to tell you I'm sorry, for what happened with mahiru" fuyuhiko told her honestly, making her glare at him.
"is that all?" She said making fuyuhiko look at her "how pathetic are you? Don't you get it, mahiru DIED all because of you. YOU was the reason she is dead and all you have to say is a half-assed apology and trying to kill yourself by cutting open your own stomach!" Hiyoko yelled at him.
"IT NOT IT!" Fuyuhiko shouted making hiyoko jump in shock at the sudden outburst, just before he bowed his head before hiyoko and sighed "...I am the reason mahiru and peko are dead, I will live with that fact everyday of my life... But instead of feeling sorry for myself, I have to keep moving forward or peko death would of meant nothing... I will atone for my sin by living the second life that was given to me and I will atone for mahiru death as well, starting with apologizing to you since she had meant a lot to you and I had took her away... Hiyoko I'm sorry" He told her wholeheartedly.
Hiyoko looked at him with wide eyes and as much as she wanted to yell at him she knew that wouldn't of what mahiru had wanted, she bit her lip while holding back tears "d-damn you, Fuyuhiko..." She mumbled.
Fuyuhiko looking up slightly and saw her obi belt was undone as he remembered hearing she had trouble tying it "your obi belt..." He started making hiyoko look at him "I can teach you how to tie it... Not as good as mahiru but good enough so it doesn't come undone" he told her making her gasp as she remembered her belt.
She looked at him and huffed "don't think fixing my obi belt is enough to forgive what you did"
"I know but looking out for you is something mahiru would of had wanted... Besides I pretty sure no one else knows how to tie a obi belt but me" Fuyuhiko told her, making her look at him.
Hiyoko was silent for a moment before she huffed again "fine but if you try anything you loser virgin, then I'll hit you" she said as she turned around and walked inside her room, leaving her door open for Fuyuhiko.
"heh glad you're back..." Fuyuhiko chuckled as he followed her inside, determined to do the correct thing with his second life.
