People don't blame ghost sightings on indigestion like they used to.

"#it happens occasionally in victorian ghost stories and it's so funny. it makes no sense. #how could you possibly attribute the vision of a murder that happened 2 years ago to the cucumber you ate at lunch?"
I'm not particularly well-versed in Victorian ghost stories. Can any / all such instances be explained away by the person thinking they're actually still sleeping and it's actually a dream caused by indigestion? Because that's definitely an explanation for weird dreams I see nowadays. (I've seen it explained by cheese before bed once or twice - a complaint I briefly thought a mutual acquaintaince of ours once raised, until I remembered that no, he's actually the last person who would, he eats cheese for supper all the time. 😆 I think it may have been Very British Problems? No idea now. But I've definitely seen it.)
