Sebek who has dedicated his life to the same people only for it all to go to waste and now he has no idea what he wants for himself, for the future so he decides to cut ties with the reason he's spiraling in the first place
Grows out his hair, dyes it, gets rid of the portrait in his room, becomes something more than Malleus Draconia's freshman retainer and rises the ranks to housewarden in his 3rd year. He doesn't feel content at all
But he finds out Philip stayed behind for him, and he kisses the back of Sebek's hand and continues upward, to his shoulders before moving to his face and telling him that he's been absolutely lost without him and Sebek asks him how he's even here. And Philip answers that he would gladly follow Sebek to the ends of the earth and even in death before kissing him again
Philip and Sebek make me completely normal 😁

An Ace pokemon is their strongest
Includes All 7 dorms + Staff
This is your sign to totally ask my about my pokemon au I wrote a whole lore doc for it and even added some hisui stuff
Heartybul
Riddle: Shaymin
Shaymin is a hedgehog and since Riddle is the grass gym leader in my au it just worked the best. Imagine it's flower is a rose though. (He probably wouldn't use it for the gym that's too op)
Ace: Scorbunny
I needed a lil rascal for Ace and Scorbunny gives such Ace vibes.
Deuce: Buneary
After the bunny event (can't remember the name of it for the life of me) I had to give him a bunny pokemon. I also wanted it to be a duo with Ace's ace. (tehehe ace and ace) For all you Adeuce-ers I have a drawing vision I'll create one day.
Cater: Ditto
Identity issues. I picture Ditto approaching Cater as Cater and he assumed it was a clone for the longest time. Ofc until he tried making it disappear and it didn't work.
Trey: Chansey
He's like the big brother of the group so I thought Chansey was perfect.
Savanaclaw
I didn't wanna just base them off of their species since I was going to give them Pokemon Beastman types instead. (For example Leona is a Pyroar Beastman)
Leona: Lucario
I wanted a fighting type since he's the fighting gym leader. So when I was playing Legends Arceus and stumbled upon an alpha Lucario I knew it had to be. (Dunno how much it fits tho tbh)
Ruggie: Timburr
I needed a lil rascal for him. Someone who could snag something and run off. Also preferably a fighting type. Timburr fits the profile.
Jack: Lycanroc
He turns into a wolf...this one had to be a wolf. I wanted one that didn't give intimidating vibes and Lycanroc was my best bet. I feel like it's a very loyal pokemon and from what I know Jack is decently loyal. (I'm sorry I don't know much about Jackypoo)
Octavinelle
Azul: Grapploct
I know I said I didn't wanna go species based, but tbh it was either this or Vaporeon and I feel like I could find more similarities with these two. It's pre-evolution is a small little guy who works it's way up to it's strong version, similar to Azul working hard to become the successful man- teen he is today.
(this lil guy)
Jade: Lapras
I needed something to pair with Floyd and just going for the eels felt too easy. Lapras has this elegance that Jade has so I thought it'd work
Floyd: Gyrados
(did I spell that wrong?) He totally caught a Magikarp when he was younger because he thought it looked funny then kept it. Look at it now!!
Scarabia
Kalim: Donphan
I wanted an angry looking pokemon to contradict his friendly optimistic-ness. + elephant. He rides an elephant in Chapter/Book 4.
Jamil: Serviper
Jamil *Viper* Ser*Viper*
Ignyhyde
Idia: Luxray
Almost went with PorygonZ but he likes kitties and as the electric type gym leader I had to go with Luxray. Lions are cats!!
Ortho: Rotom
Come on... Do I have to explain? Oh wait non-pokemon fans might be reading this, yes I do. Rotom can travel between devices and sometimes even the players Pokedex. (Encyclopedia of Pokemon) (Sun/Moon for example)
Diasomnia
Malleus: Meowstick♂️
Everyone keeps giving him a super op team full of legend/psuedo-legendary dragon types but instead I made him part Dialga (basically the god of time) so I could excuse it.
I can't see him getting many pokemon, most escaping their balls and leaving Mal down. But this Meowstick lives in his castle. He wanted to befriend it but it was really stubborn. Eventually they became comrades tho!!
Silver: Swablu
He needs an Altaria. It's a cloud bird (technically dragon but shhhh)‼️‼️Swablu doesn't evolve until level 50 though and he's still young so he needs to wait.
Sebek: Pom-Pom Oricorio
I LOVE HIS DYNAMIC WITH ORICORIO!! I picked it because it was an electric cheerleader and he's always idolizing Mal but there's lore origins
Sebek found Oricorio when he was younger and out playing with Silver. It was injured and about to faint (Pokemon's equivalent to dying) Silver insisted on rushing it home and having Lilia help save it. Sebek carried it all the way there and it grew attached to him.
I can see Baul having issues with him having a non-evolving Pokemon but give it time, it'll prove it can be strong
Lilia: Sneasler
Come on...Look at them.
Sneasler is a Hisui exclusive actually, and Hisui is Sinnoh in the 1700s-ish. It also looks like it could be a soldier, look at it. Amazing. Perfect. I love Sneasler.
Extra: (You'll have to look these up yourself)
Crowley: Haunchcrow, it's in the name, it's a crow.
Crewel: Furfrou, dog you get to stylize, perfect fit
Vargas: Machamp (please say I didn't mix it up, the fully evolved one) Human like muscle pokemon absolutely perfect.
Trein: Lucius, Lucius is a pokemon in my au. shush it's just a rare species
Sam: Dusknoir, skull ghost type. Perfect for Sammypoo.
So that concludes all their aces. Funsies!! I'm back in my Pokemon hyperfix so I'm brainrotting. This was one of many...
I have everything planned out but the lore doc only contains up to Scarabia's arc rn. (But still ask about anything I literally have most of it planned)
The Pokemon au focuses on Yuu, who gets sent to the TWST region (shush ik not creative) by Arceus (Pokemon God). Professor Crowley finds poor Yuu and offers to help them home, if they complete the Pokedex. (I had to type that out 4 times I kept accidentally deleting it)
Thanks for Reading
Octavinelle and Diasomnia are my favs rn because those (+ Pomfiore) I branch away from the main story the most. (Yuu gets into trouble with Azul let's just say~)
So ask about it, I wanna share the brainrot. (I'll probably make a massive lore post about it one day if no one does...I can't be contained)
Anyways have a wonderhoytastic day!!
Thanks for reading, Byebye!!

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ ad perpetuam memoriam
summary: what comes after? type of post: fic. maybe a series, someday includes: ace, deuce, riddle, azul, silver, sebek, epel, jack, and jamil additional info: platonic, reader is gender neutral, reader is not yuu, this is all AU, not making predictions for how twst will end
You wake in a void.
Cold as winter, dark as midnight, but not quiet, nor empty. Such a place should only be shrouded in reverent whispers, if not in monastic silence, but here, there are cheers, chatter, merry laughter, the sound of bells and smiles.
You feel stiff and achey.
You haven't been here before.
Thrust your hands outward, and the infinite darkness will prove finite. You touch something solid, cool and smooth. You push. You're only half-conscious, only half-sure of what you're doing, but even then, your mind has decided that you're in a place with walls, and, hopefully, a door, too.
Sometimes, hope is all you have.
This time, you also have a door.
It falls off its hinges and onto the floor beyond with a heavy, imposing, thud. The distant merriment dies, and shrouds itself in quiet.
You feel dizzy. Your head hurts.
"YOU!" someone cries out. You? Me?
Something warm and almost rough takes your wrist and pulls you into the light, warm and sickly, yellow and green.
You're suddenly in a tight hug, your face pressed into the shoulder of a voice you don't recognize. Are you dreaming? Surely, you must be. When was the last time someone hugged you like this?
"Ace," this voice is new, coming from behind the shoulder you're pressed against.
"That's not You."
The arms that had so soon swept you up now push you back, and you're met with the wide eyes of a boy. Ace, as his darker-haired friend had called him.
"Oh... wait, what?"
You look between the two. "I'm not me?" for some reason, this is all you can think to say.
And they look between each other.
"Man. They're speaking in riddles," one whispers.
"Yes? What is it?" another boy comes, red-haired and shorter than the first two. "Might I remind you we have a schedule to keep? I won't be held by useless questions like last year's orientation. Spade, as new vice housewarden, you should have already gathered the new first years. Who is this?"
He's suddenly looking right at you, curiosity and impatience in the gray of his eyes.
"Riddle- H-Housewarden, I mean," Ace says. "We... uh... we don't know, they..."
Riddle smiles. "Heh, don't tell me. A magicless student from another dimension just fell out of a coffin?"
The two taller boys don't answer.
Riddle is no longer smiling.
"Ahem. Deuce, please see to the first-years. Ace... please let go of them,"
Ace's eyes widen again as he realize his hands are still tight on your shoulders, and he quickly withdraws them, as if you were something repulsive.
The dark-haired one, Deuce, reluctantly leaves, Ace not far behind. Riddle turns to you with a scrutinizing look, hand on his hip.
"I suggest you find your assigned dorm before they depart. This is a large school, it would be unbecoming to lose yourself on the first day,"
Dorm? School?
You tell yourself you must be dreaming, and you say nothing, staring blankly at "Housewarden" Riddle, waiting to wake.
You don't.
He sighs. "Very well. Tell me the name of your dorm, I will bring you to your housewarden,"
You still don't wake.
"...My what?"
"Your dorm," Riddle says. His cheeks tint pink, and he looks away for a moment, taking deep breaths in and out. "Were you paying no attention during the ceremony? I know you are no student of Heartslabyul, so what is it? Ignihyde, perhaps? Scarabia? Diasomnia?"
"...I don't know what any of those words mean," you admit. "...Where am I?"
Riddle's face goes from rosy pink to ghostly white, his eyes widening.
"...Just one moment, if you please," he says to you, turning and walking to the head of his group, where Deuce Spade is gathering even more teenage boys. Riddle whispers something, and the "vice housewarden" (whatever that means) nods. The raging sea of hormones ebbs, leaving the dark, stone room.
The red-haired one, the one who thought he had recognized you, Ace, gives you a lasting look before they're gone.
Riddle then approaches another ensemble, this one headed by a white-haired boy. The Housewarden whispers something, and he nods, pushing his glasses up his nose.
That ensemble, too, leaves, and suddenly, the two boys are at your sides, and you're walking.
"Perhaps we should take them to someone sensible, first," Riddle says, speaking to the other as if you weren't there. "Perhaps Professor Trein?"
"I don't see why we should. We'll only be wasting time,"
"I'm not sure I'd like to bring this to the Headmage, Azul,"
"My, my," he (Azul?) smirks. "Look who's bending the rules now."
Riddle glares. "I'm doing nothing of the sort. I am simply being logical. You do realize this must be a practical joke, yes? Royal Sword Academy-"
"RSA wouldn't do this," Azul interrupts. "Their idea of a prank isn't reenacting the strangest thing to ever..."
He pauses, looking away for a moment. And then: "But, yes. The odds of this are quite low,"
"Perhaps Shroud should look at them,"
"Perhaps so. But whatever we do, we mustn't tell-"
"Understood,"
They stop, and you stop with them, in front of a pair of tall wooden doors.
Riddle sighs. "I must return to my dorm. It's tradition that I see to the celebration,"
Some anxious creature that had made a home for itself within you claws at your chest and cries, no, don't go, I don't know what I'm doing!
"Then, by all means," Azul says. "I don't exactly trust Jade and Floyd with the first-years, but I find this is a dire matter."
"Yes,"
"Yes, indeed,"
Still, Riddle seems reluctant to leave, lingering at your side for a few seconds longer before parting, the sound of heels clicking against stone.
Azul turns to you. "What's your name?"
You tell him. He smiles brightly. "Oh, a pleasure. I am Azul Ashengrotto. Welcome to Night Raven College,"
"I see,"
That's all he says. After your explanation, your name, your country of origin, your age, your gender, and your complete recount of the events that led you here, that's all the Headmage has to say.
"If I may, Headmage," Azul says, still at your side. "This is certainly not the strangest thing to happen at this school."
"Yes, yes, I'm well aware of that, thank you," the man says, waving a clawed hand at the boy. "But twice in two years... now, how will I ever explain this? Especially after last year's... er... incidents, our prestigious academy has suffered! Its reputation, wounded!"
Azul's bright smile seems to fade a little. "Do you truly think that's the most important thing to be considering right now?"
The Headmage, who you still had not been introduced to, scowls. "Of course not. There is the matter of lodging, food, clothing- I shudder to imagine the burden on the school's budget!"
Azul sighs. The Headmage's words of woe sit on your shoulders. Twice in two years?
"Ahem. Where will they be staying, then?" the boy asks. "I doubt if... er, the spare dorm is a wise choice. So suddenly..."
"Ah... I hadn't even considered... ahem," he drums his clawed fingers against the desk. "...Yes, yes. Ashengrotto, would it disagree with you to speak with Housewarden Vanrouge and Vice Housewarden Zigvolt? They may be more... er, sympathetic to the cause."
Azul hums. "Not a terrible idea. Of course, I would offer Octavinelle for the night, but I doubt they have anything to offer me in return... yes. I'll be back in a moment's time,"
He leaves you in the office, darkened by night and consumed by dread and the sound of claws on wood.
The Headmage is still, studying you from the depths of his mask. He says nothing.
Then: "Well... I certainly hope you won't be as much of a troublemaker as the last one,"
The doors are suddenly thrown open, slamming against the walls and making the room shudder with their weight. You can't help but jolt, eyes wide.
"WHERE!?"
"Sebek, please, volume. You're scaring them,"
The two strangers standing in the gaping maw of the doorway both look winded, but in different manners: the first, the taller, broader one, is nearly red with exertion, and the second, silver-haired and quieter, is panting.
Azul comes after them. "My apologies. They insisted on coming themselves,"
"Vanrouge, you left your dorm unattended?" the Headmage asks.
"Forgive me, but I thought this was more important," he says. "Is it really...?"
The tall, broad, loud one, Sebek, storms over. He doesn't touch you, but his stare is scrutinizing enough to make you uncomfortable where you stand.
"No," he gives his verdict, and the other's shoulders slump. "It's just as Ashengrotto said. Another one."
Another one of what, you wonder.
He sighs. "Sebek, it-it's alright. It wasn't going to be You,"
There it is again- you. Why does everyone keep saying that?
"Nonetheless, Silver..." Sebek mumbles, an unusually soft and quiet intonation.
"Nonetheless, we have been asked to host them, and so we shall. Our dorm prides itself on hospitality," Silver says. "The Thorn Fairy-"
Azul scoffs, stopping him before he can start. "Welllll, it seems all is well, now. I'll be going. Oh... one more thing. You, stranger-" he smiles right at you. "If you ever need anything... just let me know."
Silver shakes his head, and Sebek huffs. The Headmage only smiles.
"Let's go,"
You've seen a hundred strange things since yesterday, and you're sure to see a hundred more.
You had woken in a coffin, in a dark room, apparently of a college.
You had slept in a medieval castle, which you walked through a mirror to get to.
Oh, and magic is real. So are mermaids, fairies, and happily ever afters... or something like that.
And now you're here. Sitting on a picnic bench, touched by sunlight and a gentle breeze. It's almost too normal. Or so says the uneasy feeling in your stomach.
"I still don't get it," Deuce sighs. "So, they're from the same world as You, but they're not You."
The two others- Epel and Jack, their respective names almost representative of the strange and unstrange middle ground of this world- look at you.
"Maybe the same thing happened to 'em," Jack offers. "But that still doesn't explain how neither of 'em remembered getting here."
"Neither of who?" you ask, for what feels like the millionth time. And for the millionth time, no one answers.
They exchange awkward glances. They murmur under their breath. But they don't answer.
"...Anyway," Deuce mutters. "Ace has been all weird about it. He won't leave his room. And Riddle's just letting him..."
"Eh, Riddle understands. We all do,"
You drum your fingers against your knee. The uniform that had been fitted for you- made of spare parts, discolored, torn, too short in some places and too long in others- is surprisingly warm.
Epel, smaller but meaner than the others, sits at the end of the bench, arms crossed.
"Everything okay?" Deuce asks. Obviously not. Epel scowls.
"...Listen..." the Heartslabyul vicewarden starts, "This is strange for all of us. But we shouldn't be mean to them just because they're not You."
"Eh?" Epel asks, sitting up straight. "I ain't give an apple-licking hoot 'bout 'em! I'm 'talkin about my new housewarden!"
Deuce and Jack exchange glances, the latter muttering, "can't understand a thing he says since Vil left..."
"Oh... yeah, I forgot about that. Is he really that bad?"
Epel snorts. "Damn freshman waltzes in, brews one fancy poison, and now he thinks he owns the place! Vil woulda never let his attitude get by, I can tell 'ya that much!"
You tilt your head to the side, relieved to have the attention on someone else, for once. Since the oddball group of second-years had adopted you, you hadn't had a moment of peace.
"You sure you're not just bitter about losing out on the position?" Jack asks. "I get that you were Vil's first choice and all, but you lost, fair and square."
"It ain't about the poison! S'about the principle of the thing! Why should I haveta take orders from a first-year!"
Deuce shrugs. "You could still transfer to Savanaclaw, you know,"
"...Maybe not," Jack mutters. "Ever since Ruggie turned down replacing Leona as housewarden, we've been a little... er, unorderly."
"You guys still don't have a housewarden? Didn't you talk about this last year?"
"They don't, and they didn't. It made the first housewarden meeting of the semester a pain for Kalim," a cool, calm voice says from behind you. You jolt. Why does everyone in this school love coming out of nowhere?
Deuce sighs. "Oh, Jamil..." his gaze lowers to the paper bags in hand. "Doing some shopping?"
Jamil hums. "Sparingly. I only wanted to see them,"
His eyes, sharp and cautious, narrow at you. You're really tired of being stared at. Picked apart, dissected, studied, as if everyone is trying to decide if you're real or not...
"It ain't 'nothin to gawk at," Epel says. "They ain't You, can we get back to 'talking about my housewarden? He's running the dorm like it's his own personal palace! His face is all over the place!"
You find yourself strangely thankful for Epel's ire, as Jamil's sharp, critical gaze turns on him.
"You mean Quya? He seems fine. Not much different from Vil,"
"YOU TAKE THAT BACK!"
Jack rolls his eyes as the two bicker. Deuce tries to step between them, and speak "vice housewarden-to-vice housewarden" with Jamil, which only seems to annoy him more.
"This place is so weird..." you mutter, and Jack snorts. "Huh? What's funny?"
Nothing," he says, almost smiling.
"You just... man, you really sound just like them."
You don't even try to ask what he means by that. You've had enough questions for one day.
You feel uneasy walking back to Diasomnia.
It makes your stomach twist and turn. You've only been here a day, and you already remember the way back to your temporary home.
"Ahem. If we- I- fail to send you home by the end of the week, we will... er, see about moving you into the spare dorm,"
That's what he- Crowley, the Headmage- had said.
You stop, on your way to the mirror chamber, to look over the grassy hills, the beaten down paths, the dead trees and jagged rocks that decorate the lawn of the aforementioned dorm.
It's old. Decrepit. Falling apart, although you can see different planks of wood boarded over holes in the roof and walls, as if someone had been desperately trying to hold it together.
You can't fathom why anyone, Headmage and students alike, would be so protective over such a building.
There's a light in one of the windows. Soft and yellow and inviting, it's almost calling to you, luring you with its warmth.
Someone lives there already. Is that it?
You have to answer all of your own questions.
You continue walking. This place is strange, and yet familiar, somehow, too. It's as if you'd bookmarked the story at its middle rather than starting at its beginning.
In some ways, you think, this is good.
The students here talk of incidents, injuries, pain and fear that had come and gone before you. You were fortunate enough not to be caught in the storm.
And yet, still, something tells you this is only the eye of the hurricane.
Soon, rain and thunder will be at your door.

I am in dire need of more of that AU that The First years get The upperclassmen toxic traits,i realy want more of It,like;
A way to include octavinelle and scarabia,maybe like,3 First years(Ace,deuce,Jack) get some of azul's toxic traits,other Three(epel,ortho and sebek) get Jamil toxic traits and yuu get both
Second thing
More reactings please,i NEED The staff,ALL The dorms and even the relatives seeing The First years developing those toxic traits,the overblots+Trey and cater for deuce getting their toxic traits right back at their face i beg you🙏🙏
anything 4 u, baby.
(but for real, though, this is an AMAZING idea, love you so much for tilling the ground for my brainwormies, mwah mwah 😘)
(also, this might get REALLY long, so hang tight!)
it was just a seed at first — a tiny idea that stuck around despite the first-years not even realizing it was there. but as the poison from their actual housewardens starts to develop into something truly deadly, so does that seed. it shows up later... but it makes itself known nevertheless.
ace, deuce, and jack have all worked for azul at the mostro lounge at one point, and though it was a very brief moment in time, it was just long enough to worm its way into their heads.
it starts with ace trappola, who's already pretty slippery with his words. but working at the mostro lounge, taking subconscious note of all the underhanded deals azul is making, he starts to pick up new... skills, let's say.
it starts small, with ace starting to give out certain favors to his fellow freshmen to earn some money. if you give him ten thaumarks, he'll do one of your everyday chores for you — dusting your room, cleaning your bathroom, making dinner, what have you. if you give him fifteen thaumarks, he'll do your homework if you don't feel like doing it, or take class notes for you if you don't feel like showing up. if you give him forty, he'll help you with something less-than-moral and definitely against the rules (he did it once back at the atlantica memorial museum — he can do it again).
there's an obvious power imbalance in all of these scenarios, but ace effortlessly words in a way that makes it seem like it's a win-win situation, when in reality, it's more like a zero-sum game.
it gets to the point where ace builds a black-market sort of reputation, and all of the freshmen know that if you need something done, ace is the person to go to.
...but then, something shifts.
at some point, ace starts a black-mailing campaign for the people who paid for the forty-thaumark favor. if you don't want your secret — one that might get you expelled, suspended, or worse — getting out, then you can pay for ace's silence with a favor or more money.
the worst part is: there's no way out. if you try attacking ace, it'll seem like you assaulted him for no reason, since if you try to explain he was blackmailing you, you'll have to tell them what he was blackmailing you with, which you obviously can't do — or else what was even the point? the same rule applies if you try tattling on him to one of the teachers or the housewardens or anybody else. and ace is a better liar than most people will ever be in their lifetime, so it's a losing battle even if you do manage to get someone to take your side.
so if you want to cross the bridge, my sweet, you've got to pay the toll.
(it's not even about the money anymore, really. riddle's thirst for control and azul's desire for recognition have clashed inside of ace in the most violent way, and now, it's all about the power it gives him over other people. and after how powerless he's felt this entire school year, being thrown left and right by overblot after overblot with no say at all, this is a power trip he never wants to come back down from.)
but ace realizes he's making quite a few enemies with his little money-making strategy, and he needs someone to help him just in case someone does come up with a plan to wipe him out. i mean, just look at azul — even with all of the loopholes and leverages in the world, even he was taken down eventually without outside help. if he wants this to last as long as possible, he needs... incentive for people to listen to him.
his own jade and floyd.
his own red-and-black collar.
using his riddle rosehearts-born dominance, and taking advantage of deuce's trey-and-cater-born passiveness, ace convinces deuce spade — one of the strongest people he knows — to help him in his economic ventures.
and deuce, seeing this as a way for ace to vent some frustration and unwilling to be on the other end of ace's ire, hesitantly agrees.
he doesn't piece together that ace is acting suspiciously like azul, but he still recognizes his own role in this whole scheme. ace is running a business, right? and deuce has only ever worked in one business before. he remembers what jade and floyd were like back when he worked under them, and so he uses that experience to inform his new position.
deuce becomes known as ace's right-hand man. he'll hunt you down if you don't pay, and he's not afraid to use force to "compel" you to. there have been stories about cat beastmen getting thrown up into trees and being left there for hours. about students getting forks "accidentally" thrown at them in the cafeteria with such precision, it doesn't really feel like an accident. about a student with a spade on his face who can throw back any attack sent his way with just as much force.
and there's nothing you can do about it, because he's in service to someone who has made himself pretty powerful. ace's silver-tongue gets deuce out of any and all trouble he inevitably finds himself in — and is ace is so brutally honest, why wouldn't people believe him? so even if you try to do something to deuce, ace has his back no matter what — and he'll win almost every time.
you mess with deuce, you mess with ace, which is already bad enough. but if you fuck around with ace, you better be prepared to find out with deuce.
they're a pair — that's always been true. but never before has that fact been so threatening.
jack howl comes next. we all know how much jack despises octavinelle's business model. but, begrudgingly, he will admit there are a lot of things he can learn from octavinelle. and more knowledge is never bad. as long as he doesn't actually use it, it should be fine.
(jack is more dangerous than ace and deuce, in a way — his toxicity is insidious in a way it just couldn't ever be with them.)
with excellent hearing, eyesight, and memory, he silently keeps note of every bribe he hears being taken. every lie he knows is being told. every mistake that gets swept under the rug. it's not long before he starts actively looking for it. it's not long before jack's uncovered dirt on almost every freshmen in school. it reminds him a bit of his time working at the mostro lounge. but instead of memorizing orders from customers, he's memorizing all their dirty secrets.
it's to protect himself, jack reasons. after all, it was only his input that put a stop to leona and ruggie's plans back during the spelldrive exhibition. he's just... preparing for another disastrous event, that's all. it's just precaution. insurance.
if it's not, then he'll have to accept that leona's overblot bothered him more than he thought. that he was weak enough to let it.
(and jack can't face that yet.)
and if, once in a while, ace comes to him looking for a little bit of information, then well, that's just lending a friend some advice. nothing wrong with that.
epel, ortho, and sebek don't have any direct ties to jamil, but they are certainly... impressionable, aren't they?
sebek zigvolt is a bit dense, certainly, but even he can see how well jamil takes care of his master. and with a master that's as ditzy and forgetful and all-over-the-place as kalim, that can't be easy. even if they are merely humans, and their experiences can't even begin to compare when it comes to serving a fae prince, sebek reckons that he can learn a thing or two by observing them. so that's exactly what he does.
one day, when kalim spills food on the floor in a hilariously ridiculous move, sebek notices something few others ever would. jamil gives the tiniest twitch of annoyance — the same way silver, in all his stoicism, often does when sebek gets too loud — but then he's back to being perfectly dutiful and polite and says "i'll go get a napkin."
it's... admirable, honestly. sebek doesn't put it into practice right away, but it stays in his mind long after he first sees it.
and then, after malleus's overblot, sebek's emotions feel like they're on fire. after being stuck in a world where it took just the tiniest crack to shatter a perfect illusion, he's wary of nearly everything that disrupts his day. now every single slight against him, no matter how unintentional it may be, feels like a personal attack on his very life. but sebek can't show these ugly emotions so outwardly — that would be dishonorable behavior that could damage malleus's reputation. instead, he resorts to subtle methods that can't be easily traced back to him like putting in frogs in schoolbags and setting brooms on fire or replacing shampoo bottles with tar.
but his repressed feelings of anger start to build to the point where he's now feeling unprecedented resentment towards... well, almost everybody.
when sebek has very first negative thought about malleus in history class — "reckless bastard" — he instantly hates himself for it and throws up then and there because how dare he.
he tries to shut them out, but the more he does, the more these intrusive thoughts start to bombard him with their uncharacteristic cynicism.
he looks at lilia from across the breakfast table, and his first thought is: heartless liar.
he spots leona lying in the botanical garden and he thinks: brainless cretin.
he even sees jamil, walking through the halls, and his mind screams: manipulative bitch.
but sebek shoves it all down because he's in no position to say that. it gets to the point where he's walking around as a silent, unfeeling husk, because to be anything else would be like inviting his inner demons to visit him on the outside. he pushes his emotions down as far as they'll go, and that's just going to have to be enough to get him through the day.
ortho shroud begins to follow a similar principle. his idia-inspired pessimism has led ortho to see others as less like people and more like characters. it's easier to think of every school day as a dungeon in an rpg. it's easier to convince himself that the other students are taunting him because they're programmed to be that way than face the reality that they just don't like him.
but the problem with seeing life as a video game is that you start seeing others as just ways to complete your objectives. like npcs or maps.
and when it comes to using people, jamil viper is king. or, for ortho's purposes, the ultimate survival guide.
ortho shapes himself into a model night raven college student — kind, charming, and sweet for the teachers, but just mischievous and rude enough to still fit in with the students.
he goes to housewarden meetings with idia to "gain leadership experience", taking notes and hearing out of every single little idea he can get his hands on (these are the people who have not just survived, but thrived. they must be doing something right). one time, riddle even pats his head and praises him for his proactiveness.
his classmates adore him for always been willing to help and being so calm about even the worst outcomes.
ortho makes himself as available as possible to the rest of ignihyde, brushing off homework or studying to help them with whatever they need — fixing game consoles, wiring in controllers, checking the internet connection, et cetera.
eventually, everyone believes in him almost as fiercely as scarabia believed in jamil, once upon a time.
ortho doesn't like telling all of these lies, but it's necessary to protect himself. it's like grinding to earn coins until you have enough money to buy that special armor in the shopkeeper's store.
...or maybe it's more like those cheesy dress-up flash games ortho used to play all the time — fleshing out the perfect outfit and hairstyle and makeup that'll earn you the most points.
if people feel like they need him, he'll be able to breeze through school without any more problems. he's put the whole system on easy mode! it feels a bit like cheating, almost.
it is like a game, isn't it? it's fun.
(at some point, ortho forgets how to stop.)
as for epel... well, he knows that his sudden snappish behavior towards the other pomefiore students won't go unnoticed for too long. but this is one of his only ways of venting, so he needs it to go under the radar long enough for him to... to squeeze out all of this sudden venom that's built up in him.
epel's not oblivious. he knows how sebek and ortho have changed over the weeks, and he knows why. but epel can't pull off "repressed" like sebek, and neither can he suddenly turn into the best person ever like ortho. but they do have the right idea about taking inspiration from jamil, so epel can fall back on what there is left: gaslighting.
every time kalim blacked out, jamil blamed it on him being sick. every time someone thought kalim was being awfully uncharacteristic, jamil called it a "mood swing". every time someone asked jamil about why kalim was acting so weird, jamil claimed ignorance.
at least, that's what yuu tells epel.
and it's perfect.
so now, every time someone confronts epel about his overly critical behavior, he lies and says he's doing it for their own good. you need pressure to make a diamond, after all. and besides — vil won't settle for anything less than absolutely perfect.
("i'm just trying to catch your mistakes before he does. and i think you and i can both agree that i'm a lot nicer than he is about it.")
every time vil confronts epel about all of the complaints he's been hearing from the other students about how epel's been tearing down their ideas for outfits and hairstyles with no mercy, and disregarding all of their achievements as "not good enough" to be proud over, epel dons a confused face.
("vil, between studying for tests and the crazy physical regiment you have me do, i barely have time for myself. you honestly think i have the energy to criticize other people?")
epel even starts turning people against each other so they won't focus on him. epel subtly threatens to take away the upperclassmen's position in the hierarchy, which sets up the other underclassmen as a threat, and epel grouses to the underclassmen that the upperclassmen look down on them for not living up to pomefiore standards, under the guise of regular teenage bitching.
but all of this, combined with their self-entitlement, leads to a mini-war in pomefiore. but since this is, well, pomefiore, where being perfect and poised is the standard, the others make sure never make it obvious in front of vil or rook.
epel plays everybody like a fiddle, and ensures that none of it can be traced back to him. it's a good way to get out his frustration. and hey — it seems like everybody's upped their game along the way. vil seems pretty happy that everybody's improving in their efforts so greatly, practically overnight!
epel wakes up with a feeling of accomplishment everyday. for once, it seems he did something right.
now if only rook could stop looking so somber...
then we come to yuu, whose inner darkness has been left to fester all year. if people think they can treat them like a ragdoll, it's only fair they do the same.
there's a lot yuu doesn't have, but one thing they're really lacking is a bit of respect. that's what it means to be magicless in an arcane academy. you're at the bottom of the food chain.
and look at what a bit of self-interest can do for you! yuu studies in the library until late into the night, burning the metaphorical candle at both ends, learning everything they can about magic until they're more well-versed in it than most students in the school. yuu starts making potions that aren't nearly as good as azul's, but they're cheap and work well enough. they start making study guides for others with their new-found knowledge, even if they do bristle with the fact that a damned study guide is what caught them in azul's tentacles in the first place. they start learning anything and everything, clinging to whatever scraps of knowledge they can write down.
with this, they successfully make their case for why they should join ace and deuce's business. eventually, they're just as feared as they are among the other first-years.
but that's not enough for yuu. the power of fear is nice, but the power of controlling other people would be much more cathartic.
so that's what they do. while ace is more focused on monetary gain, yuu uses their mountains of blackmail to convince others to do whatever they want.
if crowley throws another ridiculous task at them, yuu simply hoists it off to somebody else to do. if ramshackle dorm needs a few repairs, it's only a matter of contacting a few people before a whole construction crew paid off by somebody else comes knocking at their door. and they'll do it, if they don't want to get kicked out of the school or have their reputation ruined.
but somehow, even with all of this, yuu sets themself up as the nicest out of their little trio. they're willing to let payments slide from time to time. they listen to their clients' problems. they take constructive criticism and always seem to improve in their potions and study guides based on feedback. and if you do do yuu a favor, they'll give you certain favors right back.
so even when yuu is a covetous, greedy, all-consuming shark, the students still think they're so very, very nice. because compared to ace and deuce, what else is there to think?
but this can only go on for so long. and yuu knows that.
one day, they get called to the headmage's office. yuu is already going through their contact list — a list that's quadrupled ever since they joined forces with ace and deuce — to see who'd be willing to do them a teensy little favor for them, but when they step through the door, they pause.
inside the office are all the housewardens, their vices, the teachers, and everybody else yuu has grown to know over the past year.
yuu narrows their eyes as riddle steps forward.
"yuu," riddle starts sternly, "from one housewarden to another, i believe we need to talk."

(i will address everyone's reactions in a reblog, because this is honestly getting really, really long, lol. but don't worry, the reactions are coming! 🥺)
(but i should mention that there is already a good reblog of the original post by @thenumberhuntress which addresses the upperclassmen's reactions that you can find here. go read it. it's peak.)

Humans Are Extinct (Yandere!TWST x Fem!Reader) Monster AU pt 12

(Idia often curls in on himself even when sitting in a chair. Usually it is to make himself smaller because he is noticeably taller and lankier than the other students. Idia was so stressed to leave the Isle of Woe that he couldn't attend NRC until Ortho was grown enough to attend with him. Ortho is brilliant and mentally advanced for his age, which is why the brothers didn't wait until Ortho turned 25 like the usual maturity would be for a Shinigami to attend. Idia is 88 years old.)
Warnings; yandere, multiple yanderes, platonic and romantic yanderes, yandere behavior, obsessive behavior, possessive behavior, mention of injury, mention of death, very few are happy with recent events, Leona cleared of all wrong-doing, injury, Regular Lions cannot purr but Nemean Lions can, Dragons can purr, Dragon, Raiju, Crow, Selkie, Cervitaur, Vampire bat, Sphinx, Satyr, Faun, Werewolf, Shinigami,
~~~~~~~~
Your eyes slowly opened with no small amount of effort, feeling yourself slipping back into the waking world as you lay still. A dull throb in your leg vaguely made you wonder why it hurt so much and just what happened. Looking around, you seemed to be in some kind of infirmary, several beds lined up against the walls and split by privacy screens. Laying over your blankets was a familiar black and white fur coat.
Memories returned slowly to you as you felt the throbbing persist in your thigh and almost revive with a passion. You had been attacked on your first- and likely last- outing into the forests around Night Raven and an unlikely hero came to your aid. Honestly, you thought Leona just hated you based off of the way he had first interacted with you. It was hard to think that now after the sheer effort he put in to help you.
Grim was laying on your stomach, curled up tightly and clearly deep in sleep. Holding your left hand was a familiar horned figure, both hands holding onto you and his head lay resting on his arms. Hanging upsidedown from the rafters above him was a slumbering Lilia, wrapped in his own wings. Next to Malleus was Sebek, his chin resting on the bed and snoring ever so slightly. At the foot of the bed lay Silver, his head bowed and arms crossed as he slept sitting up with his legs tucked beneath him.
Holding your right hand was professor Divus, looking oddly exposed without his fur coat on even as he slept soundlessly in the chair next to your bed. Next to him lay professor Trein, his cat Lucius curled up in his arms that lay on the bed. Further down, with his back laying up against Trein's winged-feline half and his legs up on Silver's haunches was Leona. Laying in the bed next to your own was a sleeping Crowley, his wings hanging off of either side of his bed.
You almost didn't want to move given the many sleeping males around you, but your leg was starting to cramp up and it was not a pleasant feeling. The movement of your leg was enough to rouse Grim, his blue eyes slowly cracking open as he stuck his tongue out in a yawn. It didn't take long for him to look up at you, his wings flaring out when he saw you were awake and a thrilled smile taking over his feline features.
"You're awake!"
The little cat-beast leaped up to hug you, wrapping his little paws around your neck and even using his ripped wings to hug your shoulders. His loud shout roused the others quickly. All around you eyes snapped open and hunched sleeping figures sat upright in awareness, several looking to you first in the confusion of the moment.
"(Y/n)," Lilia almost sang as he dropped from the rafters to land gracefully, leaning over Malleus' shoulder and pushing down the Dragon's wing to smile at you, "welcome back to the world of the living!"
"What happened?"
"Poachers got their filthy paws on you. You should have never been allowed to leave school grounds without at least a Housewarden. A mistake that won't be made again."
Before you could respond, Malleus' voice rumbled out in a tone deeper than usual, almost sounding strained as if he had been shouting.
"You should have never been taken from Diasomnia's protection."
"But I-"
"Quiet now, my sweet child of man. It is simply fact. My Hoard is at risk because of this foolish notion of shared duty. From now on, I do not care who has been selected to guard you officially, either myself or another member of the Hoard will be guarding you in addition. I clearly cannot trust the others to protect you as you need to be."
"... Tsuno, what happened to your voice?"
"It is good to hear you use that silly name you've gifted me once more. Nothing you need to worry yourself about now, soft one. What matters is you are awake, and I owe an apology and debt to Kingscholar."
A scoff came from the Lion who was now standing, his eyes refusing to meet that of Malleus. He seemed less than comfortable with the attention on him and almost seemed like he didn't want whatever it was Malleus was offering him.
"I don't want a damn thing from an overgrown lizard like you. I just stayed to make sure that Mousey woke up. Got no reason to be here now."
"Wait, Leona, please."
"The hell you want, Mousey?"
"... Thank you. You saved Grim and I from those poachers. Without you, we would have been dead."
"It's my job as a Housewarden, even if I hate looking after defenseless little mice and cubs like the two of you."
"Still, I appreciate it more than I can say."
"Just stop thanking me. I don't want your praise."
Leona was clearly becoming flustered as he tried to play it off and play it cool, the softest of purrs rumbling from his chest betraying how he actually felt. No matter if he sneered or tried to chase you away from him, you knew now what a gentle beast Leona truly was and it warmed your heart to know that beneath his gruff nature he was soft and kind. The beastly Lion had saved you from the vicious pack of wolves and put his life on the line to protect yours.
"At least let me cook something for you? When my leg works again, that is."
"Well," his ears noticeably perked up when you mentioned food and a slight grin pulled at his lips, "guess I can let you repay me, if you really want to. Just so you know, I'm a picky eater and I'll make you remake it if I don't like what you give me."
Sebek make an indignant scoff sound that was almost like a choke, as if he couldn't believe the way the Lion spoke to you. His hand rest on his weapon and he looked ready to start shouting but a quick look from Malleus quieted the loud student. In the interim, Divus moved the blankets and his fur coat from your leg to check your injury. Trein was quick to aid the Selkie and retrieve scissors to cut the wrap as well as getting a clean roll to rebind your wound.
"You may struggle to walk for a while. The damage done by the serrated blade was deep and your muscles were ripped up by the teeth of the blade. You are a very lucky Pup that Leona found you when he did, those poachers- or what was left of what we found of them- belonged to a notorious group of powerful magic-using criminals wanted across Twisted Wonderland. As furious as I am with that pup Jade, they would have killed him if he was there to defend you. No one less than a Housewarden would have been able to render aid, let alone save your life."
"Which is why you will not be leaving the school grounds without one Housewarden and Vice-Housewarden or a Staff member. I should have stayed firm and denied your request to ever step foot off of campus, clearly you need to be watched at all times. I'm already working with Mr. Shroud on your new collars and they will be ready some time today. He had better hurry! My baby bird is at stake!"
Crowley was furious with himself that he ever agreed to let you leave, knowing how the visiting representatives would react to you being wounded so close to the school. On top of all of the trouble Crowley already faced he had just received word that Hades- Idia and Ortho's ancestor- was on his way to the school. Hades took Crowley's last Human away due to his inability to allow the Human to interact with others and the isolation drove her mad, now he was sure to take you away because Crowley left your leash too loose and you were injured as a result. Crowley no longer saw any point in hiding what was on the way.
"In about two days time, representatives from almost every Kingdom and Queendom will arrive to asses your wellbeing. From your living conditions to your physical health, and even to your mental health, they will be judging it all. Should they deem Night Raven College unequipped to keep you safe and healthy, you will be removed from our care."
"What if I don't want to go anywhere?"
"It won't matter. You are the last of an extinct species, your safety and needs come first, your wants are secondary."
Malleus seemed to be furious at this, his eyes glowing and wings flaring out. Apparently Vargas didn't have the chance to speak with Lilia about this yet as Malleus clearly had not been made aware of the situation beforehand. The Dragon was not pleased.
"If they dare try to take a member of my Hoard they will pay dearly for their folly."
"If Hades decides this place is unsafe, even you will not be able to stop him from taking her.
"Hades is arriving?"
"Yes, and he will be here sooner than the representatives. Ortho told him what happened and he is displeased, to say the least."
This news seemed to deeply unsettle Malleus and you were confused as to who this person was. You recognized the name as the Greek God of death, but you had no idea who he was in the context of Twisted Wonderland. Apparently he knew Ortho, but that didn't tell you much as you really hadn't gotten a chance to learn the history of the young Shinigami yet.
"Who?"
"The eldest living thing in Twisted Wonderland, Hades is a Shinigami and is known as the King of The Underworld."
"Why is he the one to be worried about?"
"He is- for all intents and purposes- one of the strongest Mages to walk this earth, even stronger than Malleus. He was very fond of Humans when they still lived in Twisted Wonderland. You could say he is the patron of Humans and sought to protect them in his home on the hidden Isle of Woe."
"Then it's my job to convince him to let me stay here."
"What do you mean?"
"If he cared about Humans that much, then he knows food, drink, and shelter are not the only things a Human needs. Happiness, comfort, and companionship are all things that a Human needs to thrive and feel fulfilled. Our base needs can be met, sure, but that doesn't mean we can survive with just that."
"He is not one to change his mind easily... But he may listen to you if it comes to it. My understanding is that he was never an owner of Humans, just a protector or a shepherd. But he has been without his flock for a long time, his heart may have been changed by the death of his Humans. I'd rather you not be taken away, but even I cannot stand against Hades should he decide you don't belong here."
It was then Divus hushed both you and Crowley, finishing rewrapping your leg and returning the blankets over you.
"Enough of that now. You still need rest and I will kick everyone else out to make sure you get that rest."
"... But I'm hungry."
~•§•~
Silver refused to let you walk anywhere by yourself. The Reindeer was adamant about carrying you wherever you needed to go, even foregoing his own classes to take you around the school. Only a day had passed and clearly everyone was already very aware of your injury and of the impending arrival of one of the Great Seven on campus.
Divus cleared you to go back to your dorm after checking over your leg and making you stay in bed until he was certain you were alright to leave the infirmary. Your professors keenly checking in with you as did several Housewardens throughout the day to ensure you were alright. It was made more than obvious that you and Grim were exempt from homework assigned in class. Truly, your only job at that moment was to stay safe and stay guarded.
Idia was texting your phone almost constantly to keep you up to date on what he and Ortho did to your dorm in order to increase security measures. Apparently he was upset with Ortho for telling Hades about the most recent event and the young boy was equally upset with himself. Neither of them wanted you taken away and were trying to fix any potential threats that could impact you in your dorm. You vaguely wondered if Idia and Ortho often skipped out of classes, as you were almost certain they did have classes to attend, but you didn't think asking was the right move at that moment.
Even as you sat perched atop the back of the Reindeer, you still heard the buzzing of students all murmuring and casting glances at you. Some seemed curious. Some seemed angry. Some didn't seem concerned at all.
"Hey, Human!"
A familiar voice called to you and you smiled when you saw it was Deuce and Ace walking over. Deuce held what looked like a pastry box and Ace carried what seemed to be a small pie. Silver glanced at you as if assessing your reaction to the two Goats as they trotted over with hooves clacking against the floor.
"We heard you were injured the other day, and Ace insisted we check in-"
"What Deuce is trying to say is we want to make sure you're alright. That and his highness the 'Queen' made Trey do a bunch of baking last night for you," he held up the pie and Deuce held up the box, handing them to Silver as the Reindeer refused to let anything be handed to you directly, "so here. I know your Dragon doesn't like Riddle right now, but it would mean a lot to him and the rest of Heartslabyul if you stopped by to say hello. Also, Cater feels awful and can't bring himself to face you. I mean, it is his fault everyone knows you're here and his follower count didn't stay up for long even after all that, but he still feels bad about it, at least."
"Ace, you- sometimes I wonder about you. But he is right, (Y/n). Riddle has been trotting up and down the halls anxiously and asking all of us in Heartslabyul for updates on you. He is determined to not upset Malleus, but he is driving himself and us crazy. Could you visit him sometime today or tomorrow?"
You nodded, figuring several of the Housewardens wanted a word with you as they were technically in charge of your wellbeing. Riddle had been good about not approaching you unless Trey or another Housewarden was with him after his Overblot. Malleus must have put the fear of the Gods into the Unicorn and you knew Riddle had a specific soft spot for you.
"Sure. I mean, I'll have to ask Silver to take me there, seeing as Divus doesn't want me walking around yet, but I can stop by for a chat."
"When are you joining us at lunch again, Human? We don't get half as much students staring at us when you aren't around."
"Well," you laughed softly at Ace's rather flippant comment, "maybe when my leg is better."
Ace's smile somewhat dropped at your less than enthusiastic response, a kind of worried grimace pulling at his features. He didn't know the full details of your injury but he did know well enough that whatever took place rattled you. Typically in classes and in conversations you were affable, able to snap back at his teasing with remarks of your own. Now your energy was obviously muted and toned down.
"But seriously, (Y/n), are you alright? I mean, really alright."
"I..."
You trailed off and looked away from the worried red eyes of the Satyr, not fully knowing how to respond. It really hadn't sunken in what had happened and you had found yourself jumping and startling at shadows even in the school. Maybe you weren't alright. Still, it didn't seem like a kind of worry to put onto Ace and seemed more a worry to bring up to Malleus or even professor Divus who seemed keen to make you his daughter.
"No. I'm not alright. I won't be for a while, but I'm trying to be. Don't worry about it, Ace. This is just... something I have to deal with."
Grim frowned at your sad tone and looked up at you from where he sat nestled in your arms. His little paws reached up to your face and wry smile pulled at the corners of your lips. Even if all else had been taken away from you when you woke up in this insane world, at least you had Grim.
"If there's something I can do to help, or even if you need someone to talk to, you can always come to Heartslabyul."
"Thank you, Ace."
"Don't get all sappy on me. I'm just saying, not everyone is out to get you."
His words somewhat comforted you and you felt a little more at peace. It was this moment of relaxation that a hauntingly familiar sound met your ears, that heavy panting of the Wolves filling your head. Walking by with his head down and an almost permanent scowl on his muzzle was what looked to be a student, but all you saw was a Wolf. Snowy fluffed out fur and wild golden eyes flicking around to each passing student until his eyes flicked to you and absolute fear griped your chest.
"Silver, we need to go."
"(Y/n), what's wrong? Why-?"
"Please, Silver!"
The Cervitaur didn't need any more encouragement to begin trotting away from where you had been talking to the two Goats, both looking around confused as to what it was that upset you so much. You just held Grim close and shuffled closer to Silver's back, trying to stay calm and not overreact but something made your heart seize when that Wolf looked at you. The wound was too fresh and you hadn't yet come to terms with everything you endured.
As you made it into the courtyard and past several apple trees, you felt your heart slowing back down to a manageable pace. Grim looked up at you with concern but you tried not to focus on the rising panic you had felt.
"Your heart is beating wildly. What happened? Do I need to contact Father?"
"No. No, I- I just got spooked, it's fine-"
"No, it isn't. Keeping your feelings in isn't going to do anything but hurt you. You are precious to me, and I know Father feels the same. We all do. You are part of the Hoard and we value you quite a bit. What happened?"
"I saw a Wolf. Like the ones that... that attacked us. I think he was just a student, but- but I just wanted to get away. I'm a terrible person, he didn't do anything wrong-!"
"I don't think we're going to the rest of your classes today."
Silver turned and began trotting down the halls, his hand resting idly on his sword at his hip. His other hand taped away at his phone before pocketing it. You tried to see what he was doing but he was too quick as he followed some unknown path. The unfamiliar surroundings turned familiar as you realized you were going to the Hall of Mirrors.
"Silver, where are we going?"
"To Diasomnia. To our Lord Malleus' nest. It comforts my Lord to have his Hoard with him in his nest and he has been on edge since your injury. However, something tells me you need the comfort more than he does right now. Sebek tells me I'm not very good at comforting others, but I will try for your sake. You are wounded and a group of beasts threatened you with awful things. They hurt you and you are still hurt. I'm pretty sure that student is a first-year and he is in Savanaclaw. He couldn't have been one of the ones to attack you because the dorm was put on lockdown when- well, when we thought Leona had attacked you."
"What? Why would he attack me? He saved me!"
"We didn't know that at the time. All we knew was that you had been given permission to go into nearby forests to forage with a Vice-Housewarden and to remain nearby in the event your collar triggered. When it went off, we hurried to the forests but we only found your collars, blood, and Leona's dorm emblem. It must have fallen from him when he arrived to help you, drawn in by your collar alerting him. There were too many scents in the forest to figure out the presence of anything except Leona and a lot of your blood."
"But that isn't what happened! They grabbed me when Jade went into the underwater caves- Jade! Is Jade okay? Please tell me they didn't hurt him!"
"Octavinelle's Vice-Houswarden is fine. He is upset with himself that you were left unguarded, but you heard Professor Divus, they would have killed him if they found him. They would have overwhelmed anyone quickly and mercilessly, but they didn't anticipate Lord Malleus and they lost miserably. If it makes you feel better, he made sure that none of them can ever try to hurt you again."
"... What?"
~•§•~
"Malleus, we are needed."
"Whatever it is can wait, Lilia. I will not let my guard down and let anyone enter these grounds to take my Hoard from me."
"That is who needs you right now."
The Dragon paused his vigil, glancing over at his teacher and trusted advisor who balanced on one of the lower castle spires across from him. He had been up there since his treasured Human left her sick-bed that morning to attend classes. Though he had been against it, he still used his magic to help freshen her up as she wanted to at least try and go to class. Anything for his little Human, but even now that freedom stressed him. The simple idea that someone could come and take her away was poisonous and made his chest hurt.
"Where?"
"Silver is taking her to your nest."
"In her excuse of a dorm?"
"In Diasomnia."
"Has Sebek been informed?"
"He is there already."
"Let us not keep them waiting."
"My thoughts exactly."
As the two traveled inside from where they had been perched, Lilia almost seemed to have a bounce in his step. Malleus raised a brow at the almost happy behavior being displayed by the Bat Fae who simply smiled in return.
"You seem quite pleased despite knowing my child of man is upset."
"I'm pleased she is coming to Diasomnia and has learned we are safe enough for her to go to when she is uncertain or unwell."
"I would have thought you to be upset with the... interest I have taken in her."
"Now why would I be upset?"
"She is short lived and fragile."
"You can fix that first problem, the second one can be handled by your Hoard and yourself quite easily."
"Against everyone but Hades and Grandmother."
"Yes, but something tells me she will not let herself be taken away without a fight. She is quite fond of you and of the rest of the Hoard. Myself included. We are your Hoard, and she is a treasure we all share great affection for. I have seen the way you hold her in the nest and in your mind."
"Can you truly blame me? She is warm and so wonderfully fragile. She fits well in my grasp and her softness is not easily replicated."
"If I blamed you, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Just remember, Humans pack bond closely with those they trust. We must remain trustworthy and protect Grim as we protect her. He is her's, after all."
"I can't lose her..."
"And we won't."
~•§•~
The halls of Diasomnia seemed so much grander the third time through, especially in comparison to Ramshackle. Of course, your first and second time through the halls- while conscious- were on the same blur of a night when you fell into this world. Such a short time ago relatively speaking but to you it felt like ages. How much had you actually gone through in those days? How much had you endured?
These thoughts weighed heavily in your mind as Silver came to a stop in front of a door that swung open before he could knock. As he slowly walked in, you recognized it as Malleus' room and the same one you woke in after you passed out beneath a gargoyle. The nest was larger here than the one in your dorm by quite a bit and you vaguely wondered if the room was originally so large or if it had been changed for Malleus.
Much as you wanted to fully take in the size of the nest, it was the primary occupant of that nest that drew your gaze. Curled up almost like a large cat was not Malleus as you knew him. Laying there was a dark as midnight dragon you had only known in Humanoid form.
His eyes were a burning green that smouldered in his sockets, scales blacker than the abyssal depths of the ocean. The faintest purple sheen seemed to catch on the large wings of the intimidating beast even as they lay folded at his sides. Twin horns spiraled up from the crown of the great beast's skull as he let out a low rumbling noise akin to a purr.
In the space of his legs near the Dragon's side was what seemed to Lilia and Sebek, already tucked into blankets. There seemed to be plenty of room and it was clear that was where you and Silver were headed. Magic swirled around you and you found you were no longer in your uniform, but comfortable clothes that almost seemed suited for sleep. Before the Cervitaur could climb up into the nest or help you up, a long tail carefully wound around you, lifting you and Grim up and into the nest safely. Silver was placed in the nest in a similar fashion not long after, likely having set down the treats Trey made for you prior to Malleus bringing him into the nest.
Lilia moved over to your side and pulled up blankets around you and Grim. While the five of you settled down, the Dragon curved his long neck to lay his large head alongside your body. It seemed Malleus was keen to be as close to you as he could while also being a living nest. You figured it was because you were injured.
Despite how intimidating it was to be right next to an actual Dragon in the flesh, you felt oddly at peace. Perhaps that magic did more than change your clothes. Grim also seemed quite relaxed, crawling from your arms to cuddle down into his own blanket on top of Silver.
As you relaxed into the blankets you adjusted with a slight wince, holding your leg and trying to get it somewhat comfortable.
"Does it hurt, child of man?"
The deep voice of the Dragon was almost soft as if spoken in your mind and not out loud. His large green eye watching you intently as you straightened out your leg and turned on your side to face him.
"Yes. It hurts..."
The maw of the great beast opened ever so slightly and an incredibly comfortable warmth spread from his lungs. Almost seeming to toast the blankets around you and the heat felt rather nice on your leg. Something about the warmth almost numbed the throbbing pain and set you at ease, soothed by the magic of the Dragon that held you in such high regard.
"Lilia tells me a student frightened you?"
"I don't think he meant to. He just... He looked like those Wolves... The ones that- that attacked Grim and I. I feel terrible for being so afraid of him, but..."
Your hand came up to rest over the small cut from where your collar had been removed from your body. The bandage was rough compared to your skin and the simple feel made tears start to well up in your eyes.
Maybe you were fragile. Maybe these monster men were just built differently, and that's why Humans had been killed off so early. Maybe this world was just far too dangerous for a Human like yourself.
As the tears began to fall, the large Dragon head scooted closer, pressing up against your front and letting you hold to his face. Lilia was quick to wrap his wings around your back, pressing his forehead into your shoulder. The combination of affection and frustration at the feeling of uselessness was enough to make your tears flow quickly down your face. Everything seeming to rush at you all at once.
Both Dragon and Bat were content to simply be there as you cried against them. Perhaps Silver was right and you needed this more than they did.
~•§•~
Crowley frowned as he looked out at the campus from his office window. Hades would arrive soon and the Crow was not ready to face the ancient Shinigami again. This time there was even more on the line as this Human had made herself rather precious to those on the campus. Even the students that didn't speak to her had begun to enjoy her presence in classes and speak highly of her when out of earshot.
The worst part for Crowley was he didn't know if it would be worse for the students or worse for the Human to be uprooted yet again and taken away. He hoped that the Human would be able to talk some sense into the old Shinigami, despite everything that had happened. Maybe once the Shinigami saw how much the others loved this soft Human and sought to protect her, he would allow her to stay where she was comfortable.
Crowley knew the Isle of Woe was likely much safer for the Human, and the Shinigami missed the soft species rather fiercely. Still, despite knowing it would ultimately be better for her, Crowley didn't want to let this Human go. He didn't want to have to give up the crown jewel of his collection. After all, the Human artifacts he collected since he was a fluffy-downy nestling were one thing, the actual Human was on another level entirely.
"Dire Crowley. We truly do need to stop meeting this way."
"I wondered when you would arrive, Lord Hades."
Yall imagine an au where all the first years try to get Sebek to go to their dorm kind’ve like a trial period for like 3 days and then the dorm heads catch wind up this and then are also like hmmm that’d be interesting so they also try to convince Sebek. (They got permission from Crowley cause why not)Turns out Sebek fits very well in all of the dorms and he fits very well in a duo with each one of the first years in their dorms(trio in adeuce’s case ).
Like Sebek is sometimes reprimanding Epel in Pomefiore but he’s with Epel on his distaste for the flavorless food(like be so fr atleast Lilia’s cooking has taste even if it’s bad…SHAME ON YOU) and they have a good time together(Vil firmly believes that Sebek should keep his hair down,he WILL rectify this atrocity AND ALSO WHERE WERE YOU SEBEK WHEN HE NEEDED A GOOD SINGER FOR VDC)
Let’s be honest Sebek is a rule followed through and through and he’s already acquainted with Riddle so he’d honestly do well in Heartslabyul especially as a trio with Adeuce as the braincell but still getting roped into their shenanigans(riddle is glad that atleast one of them knows the rules)
Sebek is super athletic so Jack and him went on morning runs together a lot when he was at Savanaclaw and let’s be honest those two prob destroyed anyone that tried to challenge them together(Leona was lowkey impressed)
and Ortho taught Sebek some new games while Idia occasionally showed Sebek new games(his favorite was animal crossing)(Idia guesses he doesn’t mind the freshman…BUT he’s very loud…)
Surprisingly Sebek becomes friends with Floyd while in Octavinelle and manages to get out of their without getting into any contracts(Octa Trio liked him enough so they didn’t try to scam him..this is a one time thing tho!!!), and while he was in Scarabia, he got along well with Jamil(Sebek thinks he’s a cool human)(Now while Jamil doesn’t like extra work, he wouldn’t mind having an extra person to help him…and he GUESSES Sebek isn’t a bad person to hand out with)and he manages to keep Kalim out of trouble while Jamil was away but Kalim instead taught Sebek some dances(Kalim thinks Sebek is very fun).
Later on the Diasomnia trio find out and are like WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN???NO WAY(None of the housewardens informed Malleus😭) and then all of them end up fighting for Sebek and like Sebek just has like no fucking idea what’s going on. He’s just excited that so many people wanna hang out with him and he’s just like >:3. Kalim and Azul also gets in on it. Like Scarabia and Octavinelle also join in because "oh look new friend to party with" and "ah yes money" but the most important "I..I have a freshman now? *cri*"
I think a perfect ending for this is to see Sebek's skills in person. Because I believe the dorms (sans first years) are going to argue what skillset they can bring for Sebek not knowing that Sebek is absurdly and obliviously competent with most tasks. Like idk Sebek swordfighting with some random RSA prince charming and actually won something for NRC is a flex.
Cue Crowley and the other teachers fending off teachers from RSA to "STOP RECRUITING MY STUDENT" "BUT HE HAS POTENTIAL IN RSA-"
A green thunderbolt quickly shuts the mouth of the RSA professor. and now the Diasomnia trio is like “OMGGG NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT THE FIRSTIES FOR SEBEK BUT NOW ALSO THE HOUSEWARDENS TF” and then they’re just fighting for Sebek’s attention . ALSO IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF SEBEK ALSO IS AQQUAINTED WITH SOMEONE IN RSA LIKE YOU AFTER THE SWORDFIGHTING THING AND THEYRE LIKE “you knowwww Sebek you should totes come to RSA” (he somehow befriended the RSA student he beat and now they have weekly hangouts)(first years are not happy about this)and then now everyone is fighting for Sebek so now the staff are trying to fend off RSA staff and students but everyone is also trying to get Sebek to join their dorms.
To add onto Acheron!Yuu, Lilia's signature spell, Far Cry Cradle, can let him replay the memories attached to an object, so he could have been able to have Yuu's sword confiscated and brought to Malleus to show him. Silver could also, at some point, be able to go into her dreams and see either her in the past, or the absolutely terrifying prospect of Nihility, like with the Black Swan animation
' A Meeting Behind Walls and Closed Doors '
[FADE IN.]
In the safe confines of the Headmaster's office does the masked crow allow himself a reprieve and sheds his outside demeanour of eccentricity and lets out a slight shudder,visibly shakened up and then releases a sigh of relief as his shoulders sag down by an invisible weight of responsibilities that come from the past experiences he had to deal with for the past hours or so.
Inevitably, he breaks the careful silence of the office and speaks to no one in particular, "unbelieveable, out of all the possibilities, the other potential cand-"
"Oh dear, you look like you've seen quite the harrowing spectre there, Sir Crowley."
"Ack..?!" Not expecting the sudden uninvited guest and getting cut off from his private musing's, Crowley lets out an undignified squak before trying to swiftly gather back his composure.
"V-vanrouge! Ugh, must you always sneak up on me like that? Just because you're masquerading as an admitted young student here doesn't mean I'm open to your version of a greeting..." The Headmaster spoke with a thinly vieled frustration and experation whilst staring upwards to the upside down bat fae currently on his ceiling.
Lilia in turn only gave an eye roll at that comment, the hypocrisy in it far to evident.
"Oh, please. Not like you don't do the same exact thing with the other children here whenever the opportunity presents itself to you, have you forgotten those explosive pop quizzes of yours with the colourful array of fireworks or is your own age catching up to you already?" The bat fae joked good-naturedly.
"Hah! Ironic coming from you of all people...now- wait, what are you doing here?" Dire Crowley said, realizing a bit too late of the incredulity of this situation he was unceremoniously thrust upon in.
"The ceremony just ended today and as the Vice Housewarden aren't you supposed to be helping the new first years settle in along with housewarden? Don't tell me you just finished and decided to pop in here for no good reason but to just bother me, I've unfortunately have no energy to entertain your whims right now. I have enough troubles to worry about as it is..." The masked crow said with slight exagerated tone in his voice.
"My, you certainly do have your hands full with these new batch of first-years this year, my sincere condolences....especially with how your going to handle that certain...young beastie that came in late and gave the mirror chamber there quite a disasterous dent to both it's walls and to your future financial saving's moving forward." Lilia gestured to the office's walls as if to bring forth the reminder of the previous fiasco when it happened just mere hours before they were having this unprompted meeting.
Crowley only squinted his yellow pupils from his mask for a mere moment in confusion before perking up in realization at the strange nickname and who it may be refering to, "Young Beastie? Ah wait, do you mean that girl...Miss Acheron was it? Atleast I think thats what she calls herself. Though I could've sworn it was something else..." He said whilst letting a finger tap on his lips in a thought like manner.
"Is that her name? Acheron...no last name?" Lilia inquired more throughly, trying to gather as much as information as possible. For what? That, he doesn't quite know. Yet.
Unfortunately, Dire Crowley only shook his head in an unafarmative 'no' before speaking up again, "none whatsoever. It might be due to foreign differences or other otherworldy reasons that are currently completely incomprehensible to me at this moment in time but if that is the name she wishes to go by then then so be it. It's not like we have any other information about her currently other than her unimaginable strength and abilities she seems to put under careful lock and key now."
"Ahah, otherworldly, you say? I had my suspicions about that during our little skermish together, the magic I felt by just being near her mere presence alone was overwhelmingly volatile and not to mention the aura that encapsulated her blade could've poisoned a mere mortal if they weren't experienced in shielding themself with defensive magic beforehand...it felt utterly wrathful." The ex-general and war veteran started periodically unclenching and clenching his recently healed and bandaged hand that took the brunt of the blade he had to previously stop from striking the Heartslabyul trio, least the ceremony turned up for the worst and became a bloodbath of all things...
He'd rather not witness something like that again, especially in a place like this and where his children are present.
"I have no qualms in disclosing that information since I feel anyone can make the connection with her destructive performance back at the mirror chamber back there so it's not something so unheard of anymore. Though the implications that comes with it is daunting..." The Headmaster told the ex-general with careful consideration.
"Hm, yes it quite is...I- wait a moment, is that I think it is?" Lilia Vanrouge said in suprise and apprehension as he pointed down at the new foreign object at the Headmaster's desk. The memory of it and it's holder is fresh in both of their minds.
Crowley in turn, stops and looks down back down at his desk and his eyes widened in realization at the shethed sword and scabbard.
"Oh, that little thing?I managed to bargain my way into making that young lady relinquish her weapon to me for the mean time since this is a college and a place of learning after all. What sort of backlash and rumours were to sprout if I were to let a young outlander wander around school grounds with a sword of all things?! Oh, the horror!" He spoke with an exageratted tone whilst putting a clawed hand at his cheek to further emphasize hie supposed 'horror' as the bat fae continued staring down the offending weapon before considering doing something that he might need to do for the safety of everyone he holds dear in this world.
Finally gathering his resolve, he looks up to the Headmaster again before speaking up, "...May I have a look at it for a moment? I need to check it for something if you don't mind."
Crowley in turn, if it were visible you'd know he had a raised eyebrow behind that mask of his, at the question before his expression slowly gave a resigned look at what he potentially wanted to do to satisfy his curiousity. "Be my guest. But ah, don't leave any obvious incriminating evidence behind on it, I don't particularly want that young girl to lay her suspicons on me if word got out someone touched her weapon if it's that signifacantly precious to her..."
"Oh, Sir Crowley, do you believe me to be such an amateur in a task as simple as this to leave a mark like that behind?" The bat fae gave out a theaterical gasp before putting a hand on his chest where a heart should be in a mocking gesture of being hurt.
"I'm wounded...Though, I suppose she did hold you at a sword's point momentarily there so I can't fault you for being a bit more on edge than usual..." He couldn't help but chuckle at the Headmaster's expense at the reminder, the question whether he deserves it or not is another debate entirely.
"Amusing, laugh at my pain even more will you? And after all the magnamoious deeds I've done for you lot...but besides that, are you going to cast your Unique Magic on that sword or not? I don't particularly sleep in my own office, mind you."
"Patience, Sir Crowley. A little banter never hurt a soul before has it?" The war veteran asks rhetorically while absent-mindedly running his hands and fingers on the ancient sword, feeling the ridges, patterns and the weight of long unimaginable history it may hold that he will hopefully make sure to find out all of it by the end of this meeting.
Dire Crowley only give a deadpan stare in return, silently urging him to just get on with it already.
"Oh, alright, alright. I suppose we've delayed this far enough...give me a moment, won't you?" Giving one last eye roll at the masked man, he makes brief eye contact with the object in his hands again before closing them to concentrate as he opens up his mouth to begin to recite the incantation of his Unique Magic...
"All is as if it were days long past.
No matter where it takes us,
it will all be over in the blink of an eye.
Far Cry Cradle."
After an immeasurable amount of time has passed, the masked crow decides to break his silence.
"Well?" He asked in an inquiring and slightly impatient tone.
With that helping the bat fae in breaking away from his reverie, his eyes shot open whilst the sharp pupils in his eyes seemed to have shrinked significantly as if just waking up from a long arduos nightmare that none should have witnessed, and yet he did as it is the price of such of the consequence of being a seeker of knowledge of the long past.
Lilia then releases a ragged breath like it was forcibly torn from his throat, the strong grip he had on the sword only thightened and if it weren't for it's unknown almost industructible metal, that sort of strength would've shattered it completely due to his own durability and trained strength.
Another thing to consider and take account of it's otherworldliness.
"This- This is... What was that creature? And the sword?"
"Sir Vanrouge, what ails you now? What did you see?" The Headmaster said in concern, trying to urge the bat fae of what he saw but unsure if he wanted to know himself.
Ignoring his question entirely, Lilia Vanrouge only looked back up at the Headmaster with resolve in his expression as he spoke back at him, "Headmaster Dire Crowley, I hate to say this but this....thing must be confiscated somewhere more secure and in under constant supervision, I must stress this clearly that it can not be given back to that beastie when she can not clearly be fully trusted yet or at all for that matter."
"Vanrouge, what do you mean by this?" The masked crow tried again with asking another question
Fortunately, he decided to spare him and answer it with haste to make his current new intentions clearer, "What I mean, is that this sword must be put in the right hands that can keep it in tight security, this is not a mere plaything for fencing or the likes! It's an artifact that holds incomprehensible power that you and I can't possibly hope to understand nor will achieve with out paying unimaginable consequences! So please, do yourself a service and peace of both of our minds in putting this object in the nearest current hands that can be hoped to atleast make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands when I know for sure you will not always be there monitoring to make sure it is.
I know I have made my vow to not meddle in your work and affairs anymore than needed to so long as it doesn't bring potential harm the Briar Valley and it's kingdom after the few attempts in whatever you're trying to achieve in this nonsense project of yours that includes meddling with that mirror but please, just this once, make an exception."
With those words said and now up in the air creating tension as they continued to stare eachother down, they maintained it before inevitably one crow gave in.
"....Very well. You are free to take it back with you to the dorm but if the young lady asks for it back again one day, I urge you to do so regardless of your personal feelings." Crowley spoke with finality, unwilling to move more than necessary from this sudden compromise.
Lilia only gave a grimace at that response, but reluctanly nodded in agreement before bringing the sword to his chest as if already readying himself for his own deperature, " I...can't quite promise that if the little beastie doesn't prove herself that she can be trusted with such a damning artifact...we'll just have to see in the near future but quite honestly, I hope it never comes to do that...the way I see it, the risks far outweigh the benefits it will bring if this sword were to be unsheathed from its scabbard again." The bat fae told to him truthfully as a last minute measure.
As if already knowing he'd get that type of response, he only nodded his head at that before speaking again, "Fine. Now as a student and vice housewarden of Diasmonia, I kindly advise you to go back to your dormhouse swiftly before you start to worry your dormmates now. They can't suddenly have two of their authrotive figures start to be absent wanderers now, can we?" He gave a hand gesture towards the exit as he spoke.
"No, They'd later run around aimlessly like headless chickens if that were to happen. Very well now, thank you for your cooperation on this matter, sir Crowley" He couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the thought. Before taking his leave, he gave one last half-smile to the Headmaster before disappearing entirely back to where he came from.
"It's been my pleasure, Mr Vanrouge. May you and your dormmates have a good prosperous time this year..."
As he finished speaking he couldn't shake the feeling and the involuntarily twitch of his ear at the sound of faint laughter in the air, coming from entirely nowhere but as if it was throughly entertained by the turn of events it was happening right before THEM.
Dire Crowley couldn't help but feel the weight lf his own mask grow heavier and heavier as each second passes as the mocking laughter continues before it ceases entirely.
"...for you and I will need all the blessings we can get."
.
.
.
.
.
"Hm? Ah, Lilia. I was wondering where you wandered off to so suddenly after we helped Sebek unpack his belonging in his new dorm. He and Silver were being fussy about some sort of...incident that happen during the ceremony where you had to raise a hand to block a student or something of the likes? Is that where you get that injury from?...I was just about to- hm? What is that you're holding? The aura it's emananting feels....strange...
"....Yes, a little strange is a way to put it."
[FADE OUT.]
[END.]
Ohhhh boy, first time writing again after A SUPER long while so I'll admit I'm a bit rusty since dialogue was always somewhat the easiest for me for these kinds of things so if you see any errors in anything or some way to improve in writing things out better, let me know!
As for the part on Silver's own UM with Yuu!Acheron, I will be making it's own short comic with that because I sure as hell am not making this written monstrosity into one. Be sure to be on the look out for that next reblog! ;]
Magical Girl AU
Y’all I swear this is not a ripoff of @/twstfanblog these are just two people who happened to have very similar ideas at the same time. Like, absurdly close together. It's honestly hilarious. They are very different tropes from the same genre I promise. Anyway this is not finished yet I’m just posting the cliff notes right now to prove that these are AU’s completely separate from each other. Peak into the oven before it goes right back inside to finish cooking.
The starting plot is that Yuri (my Yuu) was the princess of “Unnamed Kingdom on the Moon”, along with her mother, the queen, and her siblings. While she was still a baby, the kingdom was invaded by the military of Briar Valley- Back then, just Malleus, Lilia, and Rollo- Trying to take it over to sustain their kingdom using the magic released when someone overblots. Yuri is sent away to live on Earth with no knowledge of who she really is, the only clue being the frequent dream that she gets. Years later, when Yuri’s in her last year of high school and finally living alone, a new student named Skully transfers in on the same day she meets a cat on her way to school. When the villains come to get Yuri to get more magic from Earth, her powers awaken and she manages to transform into a Magical Girl to save her homeland and Earth.
Here are some notes for each housewarden and a few other characters... They're mostly incomplete thoughts since I'm not done yet, but still.
Riddle is the student council president and the “tyrant” of the school. He’s going to this school because it is very close to his mother’s work, despite being in the city and away from his house. He becomes a Magical Girl after Leona overblot (after he does so first) once he breaks out of the spell that causes everyone to be unable to move or remember anything while the villains trigger an overblot.
Leona is only attending the school because of his parents. He wants to drop out and would do so if not for the fact they’d cut him off and he prefers the ability to laze around campus than having to work.
Azul runs the school store and got into the school via a scholarship. He’s quite popular, although no one knows what middle school he went to. He changed schools going into both middle school and high school.
Kalim and Jamil both attend, Kalim paying tuition and Jamil on scholarship. Kalim is the student council vice president although Jamil does all of the work. Jamil isn’t really his “servant”, but his parents do work for Kalim’s parents, which sways a lot of what Jamil can say to Kalim.
Vil is a famous actor/model attending the school, although he misses many days because of it. He and Yuri have met before through a few events they’ve both been at, although they aren’t friends. Vil thinks that Yuri is as silly and naive as Neige, and Yuri thinks that Vil is overly salty and critical of her stage persona when he should know about how the idol industry works.
Idia is the son of a tech giant who’s forced to start attending school in the middle of the year. He’s scared of everyone and is the only Magical Girl who continues to genuinely not want to fight even after becoming one.
Malleus is the villain fighting to keep the magic in his kingdom running so all the people can live happily without worrying about “something bad” happening because they lose all their magic. I actually know what in this case I just don’t want to spoil it. Lilia is his general and caretaker, with Silver, Sebek, and Fellow+Gidel being his more recently appointed henchmen/knights. Rollo moved there before the battle with Yuri’s homeland for reasons also not going to be explained because of ~the story~. However, upon realizing that Yuri’s attending school and that she can’t transfer away, Sebek and Silver start attending the school shortly after their first attack. Fellow also “got a job” as a janitor (Showed up and did work and Crowley hasn’t kicked him out because it’s free labor), with Gidel often showing up and helping when he isn’t attending his school, being in his first year of the school’s junior high.
Neige and Rielle both also attend the school as Yuri’s friends. She finds them fun to hang out with, but they don’t ever meet up after school because she’s always too busy or tired. Rielle went to elementary school with Azul, while Neige knew Vil because they were in childhood acting projects together.
Crewel, Trein, and Vargas all work at the school as teachers. They found Yuri as a baby and decided to raise her together, especially as Trein’s kids had moved out and Crewel and Vargas weren’t settled down despite reaching their 30s when they found her. Since then, Crowley’s become her fun uncle, and Sam's been her silly cousin, with both of them joining the school as Headmaster/principal and a math teacher, respectively. Crewel teaches science and got Yuri into pageants as a child, Trein teaches history and is the one Yuri actually lived with before moving out in his daughters’ old bedroom, and Vargas is the gym teacher who trained Yuri in a lot of exercise and diet back when she was training to become an idol.
All of the first years, minus Sebek, are Yuri’s childhood friends that she’s since grown apart from. However, seeing that their baby was growing apart from everyone and seemed to get more and more upset with herself, the staff pulled some strings to get them into the high school Yuri attended. This hasn’t worked so far on Yuri, as she keeps avoiding them and making up excuses to leave whenever they’re around. Although, they seem to claim that there was some sort of misunderstanding, with each having a different memory of the last day she spoke to them…
All of the other characters I either don’t have an idea for or I haven’t made enough backstory for at the moment. If you have any questions, please ask. If not, the actual story is currently heading back to being written. I’ll probably get it out at around the same time I finish the second chapter of my concubine/royalty AU. I have so much to write and so little time... :,)
Hey, um hi! I'm new here, nice to meet you, sorry I'm a bit awkward with requests
So, Could we have some of the Self aware AU with Idia and Sebek? It can be whatever you want, a headcanon or a mini one shot, whichever you prefer more^^
Thank you ahead!
~~~🌟🎃
The interesting thing with Self Aware AU is that you can write it like the game characters are aware of you as you play or you can write where the player is isekai’d into the game and everyone knows about it. Last time, I had written it in the perspective of playing the game irl. I thought this time, I’d write it as though the player was somehow drawn into the game. Hope you enjoy it.
Remember, the Self-Aware AU is a yandere AU!

When you’d awoken inside your favorite phone game…well, you’d freaked out. But then! You’d made one rule; never mention the game to any character. It was just strange. Plus, you weren’t sure how they’d react! It was a rule you’d managed to follow, until today.
You, like the character Yuu in your game, were a first-year student at NRC. As much as you’d liked to have avoided all the game characters to prevent triggering any dangerous events, you shared class with Ace and Deuce (plus lived with Grim). Over time, you’d been pulled into lunches and joint classes with all the first-year students. Thankfully, the first-year students weren’t where the problem was. That was with the Housewardens and you avoided them in every situation possible. You were relieved that the plot of the game had you living in such a remote dorm and excused you from attending any sort of club activities.
And yet, you sometimes wished you would meet the characters. It would be so cool to talk to your favorites, see them in actual real life! Only, you were also pretty sure the minute you came face-to-face, you’d say something embarrassing or stupid. Like you did when you met Ace and Deuce. You still cringe when you remember calling them the ‘single braincell duo’ to their faces. Yes, it was probably for the best that you took isolated halls to class to avoid the seniors. You wouldn’t want to turn the corner and ACK!
You rolled over from where you’d fallen and gazed up to see who or what you’d collided with. You recoiled in horror as nebulous blue flames made patterns across your vision. “What kind of ridiculous anime situation is this. Real people should look at where they are going in the hall. This place needs a mini-map to avoid NPC’s like this. I can’t believe on the one day I have to attend class in person some extrovert is lurking in my quiet hallway…” He hadn’t looked up from where he’d fallen but you could tell in an instant that you’d triggered some rare event and encountered a wild Idia.
You spend this small moment wondering if you should pretend to know him or not. He’s a Housewarden, so you should probably know who he is, right? But at the same time, he never leaves Ignihyde, so how would you know him? Maybe you should pretend to not know him. “It’s you,” a small voice interrupts your dilemma. You look up at Idia in surprise only to find a matching expression of surprise on his face. Then his mouth parts slightly and a string of words emerges. “What should I do? I didn’t prepare for this event. I’m not ready to meet my Oshi in person. How do I trigger the correct dialog option here? I’m going to get a death flag; I just know it…”
He says a lot of things, but one thing catches your attention: Oshi. Were you somehow Idia’s favorite? That can’t be, right? You let out a giggle at the absurdity of the situation. Idia’s eyes grow large, and he shrinks back at the sound, started to hear it coming from your mouth. “Don’t be so nervous Idia. Nothing bad is going to happen,” you say softly. When you speak to him, Idia loses control of himself and starts talking rapidly, “Of course! If the Player says so, then it is so. They are so amazing, like limited SSR class amazing. I don’t deserve to even be in their presence. They are probably thinking, who is this gloomy weirdo with the fire hair? Why is he dressed so strange, he probably doesn’t have any fashion sense.”
“That’s not true!” you shout, “I remember when your Ghost Marriage card came out! Oh my gosh! It looked so cool! It was totally my favorite card. I had to pull 200 times to get it!” Then you abruptly stop, realizing you’ve said too much when Idia’s hair turns completely pink. “I…I’m just going to go,” you say as you cover your face in embarrassment and walk back around the corner the way you had arrived.
The students of Ignihyde gave Idia a wide berth as he returned to the dorm. No one dared approach him while his hair flickered so violently from gentle pink to blazing red. Idia himself seemed entirely unaware of the bizarre show he was putting on. He continued mumbling and giggling to himself all the way back to his room. When he finally found the solitude of his inner sanctuary, he jumped on his bed and hugged his Player-print body pillow. “Hee Hee Hee!” he laughs out loud for no one to hear but himself. “I did it. I meet my Oshi!” Then he rolls over onto his back and stares dreamily into the ceiling, “They knew who I was. That must mean something. Maybe, this is fate?”
There was only one rule all the inhabitants of Twisted Wonderland had; don’t interfere with the Player. It was a rule he’d managed to follow, until today. Today, Fate intervened. If Fate wanted you two to be together, who was Idia to argue? As he stared at the ceiling, Idia’s engineering brain went into gear planning designs for a place he could take you where no one else could reach. A place where you’d finally be alone, with only him. Just like Fate had planned.

Over time, you’d noticed that the residents of Twisted Wonderland treated you differently. You remembered the first time you heard Crowley tell the aggravated student body he’d assigned weekend cleaning duty to all students to clean up the campus for their use…because he was so kind. While all around you, students started grumbling, you’d burst out laughing. When everyone had started looking at you, you’d choked off your laugh and covered your face. “Sorry, he just…he said the thing,” you managed to get out between smothered chuckles.
No one ever called you out on your strange behavior. It was like they all collectively got together and decided that you were allowed to behave in any way you chose. They, on the other hand, often seemed to struggle with deciding if they should act normally in your presence or not. The number of times you’d slipped into a room of rowdy students to have the conversation cut off into a silent awe was alarming. Today was just another example.
You’d gotten back after a class and lay in your bed, bored. You’d think that being pulled into your favorite game would give you endless entertainment but, after a time, it just settled into being exactly like school in your world. The only difference is you occasionally went out looking for locations or characters in the game, like a sort of anime pilgrimage. Sometimes, you’d been caught in awkward situations, but you’d just sort of nod and say, “This all looks fine,” and leave. No one has ever called you out on your intrusions. So…you just felt free to invite yourself anywhere you were curious to go. Today, you thought about things you were interested in and decided that you’d go to some of the clubs to find out what the club uniforms looked like. After all, not all those cards were released; it’s like the ultimate preview!
You were almost used to the way things fell silent when you entered the stable yard. Members of the Horseback Riding Club stopped what they were doing to stare at you. Those who faced away noticed the attention of their fellows and turned to see you before they too, fell silent. In almost no time at all, they had casually circled you, as though waiting for you to hand out some sort of instruction or give a speech. You rubbed your head and thought, guess it’s time to break out the old ‘nothing to see here’ and bounce. Before you could though, a call broke the silence. “HUMAN!”
You turned toward the sound, an eager expression coming over you. Were you about to experience the famous rants of Sebek? As you hoped, Sebek was loudly berating students at the outer edges of the semi-circle for their inattention during club activities. You eased yourself forward, hoping to catch sight of him. No one tried to bar your way, parting before you as you progressed. You easily reached his side and leaned forward to watch his antics. Suddenly, he turns and grabs onto YOU! “HUMAN, YOU AREN’T EVEN DRESSED YET! THIS SORT OF SLOVENLY BEHAVIOR…” and then he trails off as he looks at your face and you can see the awareness fall over him.
His eyes go wide, and he immediately let’s go of your shoulder, visibly taken aback. He stammers and you imagine you even see tears gathering in his eyes. You think to yourself, time to find a way out of this before things get even worse. “I…I’m here for an inspection…” you say carefully. All the gathered students listen intently, standing just a touch straighter. “Sebek, I have decided…I have decided to see how many push-ups you can do in a minute.” It made no sense, and you knew it made no sense. You wondered if this would finally be the time someone calls you on your BS but instead, Sebek perks up to an extreme degree. “YES, OF COURSE! RIGHT AWAY!” he bellows.
You stand at his side as he begins, pretending to care far more than you do about the results of this demonstration. Honestly, it is impressive. The speed at which he sets out to complete the exercises is extreme. You wonder for a moment just what sort of training Lilia DOES give to Sebek and Silver to get them to this level of fitness. When he is finished with the allotted minute, he jumps to attention, standing much as you’d imagine he does on guard over Malleus. You give it a moment and then say, “Yes, that will suffice. You may all return to your duties now.” Having ordered the students to depart, they comply with a surprising speed. They all still watch you but now they do it while pretending to be engaged in filling buckets with water or looking over curry combs.
You give one final nod to Sebek and say, “Good job,” before you walk away. That was more than enough excitement for one night. You’d rather spend the rest of the evening in Ramshackle than deal with any more things like this tonight. Behind you, Sebek watches you go in awe. You praised him; you told him he did a good job. Before you quite got out of earshot, you heard one last shout, “SILVER WAKE UP! THEY PRAISED ME, THE PLAYER PRAISED ME!” You laughed to yourself, what a strange world this was.
That evening in Diasomnia, Sebek carefully pulled his portrait of Malleus off the wall. Nestled behind it was a photograph of the Player. He gazed at it reverently. They’d spoken to him today; praised him even. He wasn’t yet over it. He thinks we will never get over it. He places your photo next to his pillow as he lays down to sleep. In the morning, he’ll put it back behind the portrait. He’d not dare to change his room’s layout from what the Player knows! But for tonight, he’d fall asleep to your face and the remembrance of your voice. Someday…maybe he’d not even need to use a photograph. ‘NO!’ he tells himself sternly, ‘the Player is not for you!’ And yet, some dark corner of his mind tells him that ‘good job’ is just a small step away from ‘I love you.’

You guys know that one picture of the guy offering to harass your s/o to get their shit rocked to prove that youre not a pussy? 50 dolalrs weekdays 60 dollars weekends?
Thats how the first years find out that Sebek has a boyfriend. Years after little to no contact.
Philip enlisting Ace's help (because really. he would be the only one who would make a post like that) so he could save Sebek in his "damsel in distress" moment. Him sending Sebeks picture to Ace only for Ace to block him afterwards

Ok, so this a character draft for an AU I'll be writing
(basically a rip-off of one of my dr scripts, for those who know what I'm talking about)
(These images are available on my art account @maviscarlettie)
I also need help with figuring out this guy's name!
He's twisted from glut in the little mermaid and from what I gather is a great white shark.
Glaive CharnelGlaive = "a type of blade or sword," reference to Glut’s sharp shark teeth Charnel = "related to bones or a place for the dead" which fits the guy
Glaukos ThalassGlaukos = "a sea god in Greek mythology," a mortal transformed into an immortal being of the sea Thalass = derived from Thalassa, the Greek word for “sea,”
Anyways, the two major components of this au are;
Instead of NCR being a four-year program with students off to internship during their fourth year, it will be a 5-year program instead(so students graduate at the age of 22 contrary to the original age of 21)
The story will sort of follow the events of the game, but will start a year early (so our fav first years, Ace, Deuce, Jack, Epel, Ortho, and Sebek) will not be there yet. However we will eventually catch up to that point.
Secondly, the Mc will be in a sorta of yuu-ish situation. but is not a magicaless prefect from another world but instead a water nymph from Twisted Wonderland. (But is still 'wrongly' summoned by the dark mirror since they are a girl.)
They are also a year younger than the age everyone is at the beginning of the year ceremony (that will be something that plays into the story later)
Grim will be part of the story but only appears when the events of the game begin.
So this little shark guy will be the vice-housewarden of Octavinelle for a little while, and I'm working on the design of the house warden rn
This will be a reverse harem and probably have smut, but yeah, help me choose a name for this dude, and stay tuned!

Biting headcanons with monster AU vampires
-HouseWardens-
Riddle : He uses a careful numbing cream or uses his saliva as a numbing substance, and takes so much care not to tear the skin
Leona : He full on bites, not as gentle as riddle but if You wheren’t sure you’d think he was ripping your arm off and trying to actually eat you-?
Azul : he so nervous- baby boy :((( he’s so polite and bites your wrist so he can easily see your face and stop when you get too pale
Idia : he cries. Full on sobs like “YOU TRUST ME??? AAAAHHHHHH-????” And hugs you, only biting you neck and nipping at your shoulder until it bleeds and licks it up
Malleus : also cries, but misty eyed, and manly, and elegant. Yes. But also hugs you and snuggles in before leaning his head to the side and kisses your wrist while he lays on top of you so he can hear your heartbeat
-Others-
Jamil : he dresses you in gold and makes you feel so so so so special. He marks where he wants to bite and plans EVERYTHING, water, something sweet, some iron if you have an iron deficiency. Yes
Lila : lmao peepaw go MONCH- but really he has the most experience, also dressed you in gold and kisses the place where he bites. (Vampire saliva as a numbing agent go brrrrrr)
Sebek : “HUMAN! IF YOU ASK ME TO BITE YOU BEFORE YOU ALLOW WAKA-SAMA TO BITE YOU I CANNOT ALL—“ shove your damn wrist in his mouth he won’t shut up.
I imagine waking up the next day and certain things happening:
-sleeping more than you sleep
-breakfast in bed and look! is your favorite
-...why is there a fucking treasure hidden in my room? Did you find the one piece and bring it here?

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ ad perpetuam memoriam II
I II
summary: you enroll at night raven college one year after the original yuu. a heartslabyul event and a mysterious letter type of post: series includes: ace, deuce, riddle, silver, sebek additional info: platonic, reader is gender neutral, reader is not yuu, this is all AU, not making predictions for how twst will end
"Leave me be,"
The hollow sound of knocking and the rasps of weary sighs end. Finally. You pull your blanket back over your head, content to sleep through the rest of the morning.
BANG!
The door splits itself apart, sparks of magic and smoke flying through the cool air.
Sebek Zigvolt, vice housewarden of Diasomnia, pushes his magic pen into the slim opening of his pocket before he comes inside.
"Up,"
He demands, curtly but not coldly, a hand on his hip. "I have no patience for your disrespect. Silver has been far too lenient with you."
Lenient. If lenient meant sending birds and squirrels through your window, then yes. If lenient meant trying to talk to you in your sleep, then certainly. If lenient meant sending his vicewarden to split your door in two, then Silver was the most lenient housewarden this dorm ever had!
...Not that you'd know.
"Lord Malleus would have torn this room apart, stone by stone, days ago," Sebek says. "You cannot shut yourself away as though you are some... sleeping princess in a tower! UP!"
Cold air touches your sweaty, crumpled body, and your blanket falls at Sebek's feet as he pulls it from you.
"You're ill," he asks, though it's more of a statement than a question.
You say nothing, and he scoffs.
Sebek leers over you, the soft gray light of morning casting his shadow over your body. "You should consider yourself fortunate, that Silver has not thrown you out of this room yet. You are making a mockery of the Housewarden,"
With some difficulty, and, surely, some disgust, he lifts your sweaty, cold body from the bed.
Fwump.
Sebek sits you in the lounge, forcing you to keep upright with a hand on the nape of your neck. With the other, he holds a cracker to your lips. His hand doesn't move until you've eaten the entire thing.
"Sebek... What are you doing?"
Both of your eyes, sharp and wide, crusty and tired, turn to Silver.
"What does it look like?" the vicewarden scoffs. "Feeding your pet."
Silver looks taken aback, crystalline eyes reflecting your sordid state, and he hurries to your side.
"Gentle," he instructs his vicewarden, taking your hand in his. You can't seem to understand why he's so kind to you. You don't ask.
"Are you ill?" he asks (genuinely, this time). "You must be hungry..."
Sebek rolls his eyes, though even he looks a little uncomfortable at the thought, shifting where he stands.
"I'll prepare something," he mutters.
"Thank you, Sebek. That would be good,"
Silver's thumb draws lines and letters over the back of your hand, soothing you. He must have learnt that somewhere. You wonder what his parents are like.
"You've missed several days of classes. I've had some of your classmates collect your work for you. But don't worry about that now,"
You look away, eyes tired and barely open. Sick, yes, that's what you are. It's not that you'd been avoiding everyone... you're just... sick.
"Riddle wanted me to give this to you," Silver says, taking a delicate, elegant paper from his pocket. Had he been carrying that all weekend?
"It's an invitation for an unbirthday party, which-"
"I don't want to go," you don't even let him explain. Though you're not sure of what you want, now. Except for this headache to go away...
Silver frowns. "You should. You should make friends, or at least... talk... to someone. Deuce has been asking Sebek about you,"
For some strange reason, that makes your headache worse. Is it obligation? Guilt? Pity? Do these people think that if they care enough, one day they'll look at you and finally see someone else?
Is it so hard to believe that you're cared for?
Yes. It is.
"You should tell him I'm fine," you snap, though without meaning to. "I don't have to be friends with him, you know."
Silver winces, and you overflow with guilt. Something about him, the only person to, so far, treat you as a human and not a shadow, makes your stomach twist and turn.
"You're right. But he's trying. Really,"
"That's what they say," you relent.
"Yes. It's not easy for everyone," Silver dabs at some of the sweat and grease on your forehead with a handkerchief. "Especially those who were close to... never mind. Don't worry yourself about it. You have nothing to feel bad for, you belong here just as much as anyone does."
His gaze becomes hazy, unfocused, as he speaks. He may as well have been talking to himself.
"Soup!" Sebek announces, as if it were some kind of culinary battle cry.
He sits at your side in the comfortable darkness of the lounge and sets the warm bowl in your lap. It smells good.
"You cook?" you ask, absent-mindedly stirring the broth.
Sebek smirks. "Certainly. We both do,"
"We learned because Lil- er, my father is a terrible cook," Silver explains with a smile. "You're lucky he isn't here. He'd insist on making you his "specialty" and you'd end up worse than before."
You snort at that. "It can't possibly be that bad,"
"It is," the two say in unison. Sebek shudders at some memory, or another.
"He'd love you," Silver says. "So would... well... Malleus would understand."
Malleus. Your stay in Diasomnia has been haunted by that name, spoken into every conversation and implied between each breath.
Something about the way they spoke of him told you he wouldn't like you. You're not sure why.
"I guess that's good enough," you relent. Silver smiles, and Sebek pats your head, not knowing how else to show his approval.
"I'm unsure if this is entirely necessary-"
You catch yourself talking in that voice and just as soon shut your mouth. Have you always mirrored the others, or is it only a symptom of mania?
Perhaps you've been locked in that room for too long, after all.
Riddle doesn't seem to notice that you were mimicking his voice, or he doesn't say anything of it, at least, instead fixing the white and red sash of your scratchy uniform over your shoulder.
"It is. It's custom to be dressed in the Heartslabyul dorm uniform for an unbirthday party,"
"But I don't think that-"
"Hush," he pins the sash in place.
Riddle takes a step back, his chin comfortably cradled in his gloved palm. "Perfect. Now, let's make haste. It'd be uncouth for the Housewarden to be tardy,"
Great. Is that what you sound like??
You follow after him, the heels of your tight, pinchy boots click click clicking on the tile in rhythm with his.
"I would have had Deuce tend to you, as the former vice housewarden would have, but..." Riddle sighs. "He's doing his best, he's doing his best..."
You glance at him as he mutters the mantra to himself, fingers twitching around the magic pen in his pocket.
He withdraws them. "Of course, Ace has been of no help, either,"
Ace. A thought of a figure in red and white comes to mind, faceless and apprehensive. He was the one who had hugged you at the orientation ceremony.
You hadn't seen him since.
"Has he fallen ill?" you ask, still sounding all too like the housewarden.
"No," Riddle says. "Yes. It's... an affliction of the mind. Ahem. Never mind that."
"Oh,"
"Yes. Well, Deuce will have you. It was he who wanted to extend the invite... ever charitable,"
Yuck. The apprehension in Riddle's voice makes your skin crawl, even if it's not entirely aggressive.
"...Right,"
Riddle leads you through a door with a mockingly smiling face engraved on the knob, and into the gardens.
In another world, you might have liked it here. The tall, handsome hedges, the perfectly kept grass, the painted roses which seemed to sing in the golden sunlight... and, of course, the tables, one set after the other, in pinks and whites and greens and gold, a spread of teapots, tarts, jams, sugar, butter, on each one.
"Hey!" a merry, little-too-loud voice beckons from behind. You would have jumped, but a sudden hand on your shoulder keeps you tethered to the earth.
"There you are! I'm so glad you could come!" Deuce Spade smiles. "You look great... the uniform really suits you!"
"You think so?" you ask, feeling more like a circus clown than a student of the strictest dorm in school.
Deuce nods enthusiastically (a little too much so) and his hand slides to your wrist. "Oh, man, I have so many people to introduce you to,"
Dread. As much as you would have liked to run back to your room, or mingle on your own terms, or simply say no, you don't.
"...Great,"
"Great!" Deuce echoes, dragging you over the manicured lawn.
There is, at least, some comfort in the confusion, apathy, and meager care of Deuce's Heartslabyul dormmates. The disinterested greetings, the humble waves, the looks of pity, as if you were anyone but yourself. Then, at least, you can pretend as if you belong here.
"And one more person!"
You glance towards Riddle, scolding a first-year for spreading his jam "offensively" (whatever that means). You haven't had any food, yet. Or water. You haven't even sat down.
The taste of Sebek's soup is still stuck to your tongue. That was last night.
"Ace, over here!"
Dread. If there was anything in your stomach, it surely would have introduced itself to the front of your shirt.
Deuce drags you through the grass, caking your pointy shoes in mud and debris. Why, you? Why? He pushes and pries himself (and you, attached at the wrist) through a crowd of ooh-ing and ah-ing first-years. "Ace, look who it is!"
A boy with spiky, red hair, not unlike the hedgehogs Riddle had introduced you to earlier, bristles. The lively cards between his fingers die on his palms, and the table falls silent.
"Yeah?" Ace asks.
He doesn't seem too excited to see you.
"Look who it is!" Deuce repeats, as if Ace hadn't heard him the first time. He definitely had. "Finally decided to come!"
Ace shuffles the deck, slotting each card together, and then separating them again.
His eyes, narrowed, dark but fiery, like molten iron, never stray from Deuce. He doesn't even look at you.
"So?"
"So?" Deuce says. "Wouldn't you like to say hi?"
You tug, trying to break your wrist free of the binding of his hand, your body making some futile effort to escape.
Deuce doesn't budge.
Ace's eyes finally lower to his cards. "Nah, I'm good,"
The table seems to let out a collective sigh of relief, but the tension isn't done with. Ace's casual response had only thrown a blanket over the corpse of this conversation.
"...Oh. Okay," Deuce says, withdrawing from the first-years. "Sorry." he says to you.
You shake your head. "I should get back to Diasomnia, anyway. Silver needs me,"
He doesn't. No one really needs you.
Deuce doesn't have to know that.
"Oh, well..." he looks at his feet. "Um... if you... need anything, Riddle and I would be glad to help, 'kay?"
"...Sure,"
His grip is gone, and cold, afternoon air embraces your wrist. His palms had been sweaty, you grimace.
You leave the dorm uniform where Riddle had given it, dressing yourself in the familiarly unfamiliar clothes that Crowley had dumped on your doorstep days ago.
Though they're not really yours, they're still something you can call your own.
"Mind yourself," the strict sound of Riddle comes from the kitchen. "I can't recall having excused you."
Your mouth dries. "Did I... need to be excused?"
He comes into the light. At least his expression is softer than his voice.
"Well, you could have at least said good-bye,"
"...I didn't think anyone would notice-"
"Nonsense," his face goes red. "I would have. Are there no manners, where you come from?"
You open your mouth, but only breath comes out. Riddle coughs, taking out an embroidered handkerchief (you swear you've seen like, eight of those so far. This school is weird) and breathes into it. His face returns to its proper color.
"...And... breathe," he sighs. "Now... as for you. You mustn't think so lowly of yourself. You were invited to this event, were you not?"
You nod.
"Then you are wanted. I have heard from Silver that you haven't adjusted?"
"No one would," you mutter. Which seems logical to you. Who would "adjust" to being magicked into another world?
Riddle looks away for a moment. "...To some, it comes easier than others. Forgive Deuce for not knowing how to behave. He's... trying,"
You raise an eyebrow. Riddle sighs and waves off your look with his handkerchief.
"Trey would have known exactly what to do with you..." he says. "He would have had you bake something with him. Explained the rules, given you that... ugh, what was it? Some kind of sauce? As a practical joke... all very immature, yes, but it worked on the first-years.
And Cater, of course. He would have treated it like a holiday. Sevens, my head hurts just imagining the hashtags..."
You snort, if only at Riddle's memories, names and faces you didn't know.
He smiles. "I suppose Deuce sympathizes with you, in that way. You both have certain expectations to meet. The difference is that you didn't ask for yours... ahem. Take care,"
You walk back to school feeling unlike yourself. Your chest is light, your feet don't seem to meet the earth, and your mind is elsewhere. Not here, but not at home, either.
Riddle's awkward words of comfort were gauze to your bleeding heart, though it bled on nonetheless.
But they gave you something to imagine. Something to soothe your mind.
What was this place like before?
Most days, the school felt more like a museum. Dates and titles, portraits without faces in golden frames, hung above your head and hands, unreachable, untouchable.
Everything, every conversation, every question, every word of solace, every smile, was a test you hadn't studied for. A funeral for a person you hadn't known.
No one has lifted the lid of the coffin. Maybe that person has been mangled beyond recognition. Maybe that person is you.
You stop.
There is the dilapidated dorm called Ramshackle, and the one light in its foggy window. The lingering smell of mildew feels like a lullaby. It sings, come in, come in and enjoy the quiet, this is your grave.
Your foot turns, the toe of your shoe dragging across the beaten cobblestone, toward the lullaby, the singing, and the quiet.
Then, there's a hand on your shoulder.
"Lost?"
You would have screamed, but you're suddenly bound by another hand, this one larger and colder than Deuce Spade's, and you're beckoned back into the school.
"Oh, don't fret," the Headmage chirps. "It's an absolutely labyrinthine campus! I've had to collect twenty-six lost students this week alone. I've considered maps, but think of the cost... print is not free, you know!"
You steady yourself, finding your breath and balance again.
It feels more as if the Headmage is talking to himself than to you, and so you don't speak, following him (not of your own will, of course) through the dark, abandoned halls of the school.
"...And I resolved to doing it myself, but it really is such a hassle... I am a busy man, you know," he says. "Though, never too busy for you! Housewarden Vanrouge has come to me with some concerns about your socializing... or, rather, lack of it. Oh- now, don't give me that pout! I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that I told him to forget it. I said, not all magicless students from another world will be spry, sociable sixteen-year-olds! And it gives you more time to focus on me- ah, your studies. But now that you've mentioned it, I do have a few cabinets that could use sorting..."
Crowley stops before a door, as tall and dark as he, but without any ability to speak, which makes it slightly more tolerable.
"Here we are," he smiles.
"Here... where?"
"The mail room," he takes a key from his ensemble and slots it in the imposing door. "Now, wait here."
You raise an eyebrow. Mail room? It's getting dark- the shadows on the walls are slanted, and the sun had given its last breath while he was monologuing. Surely, he's not asking you to sort anything now...
"You know, I thought letter-writing had fallen out of fashion," Crowley says, returning from the depths of the dark. "What, with the emails, and the text messages, and the... ah, that reminds me, I'll have to procure you a phone for emergencies... er, but later. Here, for you."
He hands you an envelope, cream-colored and smooth. There is no name, nor return address on the back. It is simply addressed to the "Residing Second Magicless Student of Night Raven College."
You feel the rich, creamy paper under your thumbs. It smells like smoke.
"Now, don't look at me," Crowley says. "I haven't the slightest clue of who might write you from outside the college. In fact, it makes me worry about our campus security... ah, I'll have someone look at that tomorrow. Good night, dear."
He leaves you there in the hall, envelope in hand, a frown on your lips.
It's dark now. The light has vanished beyond the imposing walls of the school, the shadows have become long-limbed and monstrous, and the sky is blue and red in the blood of the setting sun.
You turn the envelope over. There is still no name. A single wax seal, imprinted in the shape of a bell, is the only sign of life.
Weird. All of this is weird.
You walk home in the dark and cold.

I was just thinking of older sebek and silver as malleus’s knights but dating/married. Them working together, training together, living together. Nothing changed too much from when they were at NRC. They still argue a bit, Sebek still tries to best Silver in fights, and Silver still uses Sebek as his personal pillow, but anyone who knows them well knows they are even more inseperable than they were before.
I like to imagine if/when they got married their rings are reminiscent of each other: Sebek’s ring is silver with an iridescent gem while Silver’s is gold with a green jewel. I also feel like Silver would be ready to get married earlier but Sebek would be apprehensive about it because of their duties and Silver would never try to force him. Sebek eventually realizes (after seeing his parent’s love for each other as his dad grows older) that Silver is the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
idk these two occupy my brain too much and I blame your fics for the brainrot . I love silbek/sebesil fluff
I absolutely believe this is how they end up, and I tried to show a tiny sneak peek of this sort of thing in my "sorta kinda Christmas Carol AU" fic with the glimpse of Solstice Yet To Come.
I think that after all they have been through together, they will never find anyone else who is exactly the person they want and who they need. They just get each other. And nothing really changes (except for the kissing and physical intimacy - both of which also tend to be competitive, but they both enjoy it).
One of the things I think about when I think of these two is that they are that couple who is "dating but doesn't know it" because they do spend a lot of time together. They are both working toward the same goal; they both have the same dedication toward Malleus - except that Sebek also expresses it much more openly and fiercely.
Sebek views Malleus as the ideal, the perfect fae, the one he admires above all - but Silver is the one by his side, understanding that (even if he has to tell Sebek to tamp down his emotional outbursts).
I think of Sebek's birthday jacket vignette, when he is asked who he would choose to be on a deserted island with - but it can't be someone from his dorm. When he laments not being able to choose from his dorm, it's because he can't pick Silver, someone who will hasten his ability to return to Malleus' side. He doesn't think of being stranded on this island with Malleus himself!
So when they both graduate, and they are in the Royal Guards together, they will end up married at some point. Is their first kiss when they see each other in their official Briar Valley guard uniforms? Is it when Lilia and Malleus leave NRC and Silver and Sebek take over the roles of housewarden and vice housewarden? When Silver is leaving for his internship? When Sebek graduates? One day when they have just finished training, and they just look at each other, gravitate toward each other?
Regardless of when it happens, and if anything changes after their first kiss, I think that they already picture themselves together as guards, and that they cannot pictures themselves with anyone else. That what they feel for each other is more than admiration.
Sebek has the benefit of seeing the love between his parents, but he is more prone to being in denial than Silver. Silver is one of action, but I think that Sebek would find it within himself to write his own vows, or to find it within himself to profess his love (he would totally write Silver a missive! And he probably does, when Silver is on his internship which is a whole other WiP in my folder.)
I love the idea of their rings being reminiscent of each other. It's a subtle, romantic thing. If they can't wear them on their fingers while on duty, they would wear them on their belts or somewhere practical - a symbol that they don't need, to show that they are committed to each other, but one that they enjoy having.
I am more than happy to be responsible for the brainrot! I just cannot see them with anyone else because no one else will ever live up to each other's expectations or understand one another so perfectly.
Thanks for the ask and for the mental image of Silver and Sebek wearing their wedding rings!
(Also because I am all about the fluff, I work out machinations in my head that either Sebek ages as a normal human, since he has so far aged as one, or that, if he does have a longer lifespan, so does Silver, as some sort of lingering effect of the spell he's under. Angst, begone! 😉)

I’m playing around with called a TWST RoleSwap AU where characters switch lives with another.
For example:
If Grim and Lilia switch roles then Grim will be the wise eccentric mentor figure raising several cubs. And meanwhile, Lilia will be the gremlin who works as half a student with whoever fills Yuu’s role.
Backgrounds will be altered to accommodate characters.
Say Malleus; if he takes the role of Yuu then there will be an addition to his backstory where he was sent to earth. The basics will remain the same. Like how in Riddle’s story he has a toxic mother. Or how Vil’s has him being an actor who seems stuck in villain roles and in second place to Neige. The main change is how each character reacts to it based on their personality.
When all the roles are switched I plan to twist them all into a story. (Eventually...)
For now, let’s lay some groundwork. Due to the limited options in the polls, I won’t be able to list every character. So, please either tag or comment if the character you would like to see is not listed. I will count them the best I can.
To see what other Roles have been filled, please go here: Link
EDIT: Just in case you're worried Idia and Ortho won't interact unless Idia's in Ortho's role like an anon was, I want to assure you that won't be the case.
Idia and Ortho will still be brothers, but circumstances will have it that they were raised apart. While Ortho has to stick to the family business, Idia can do whatever he wants (depending on his new role).
If someone else wins, they’ll be someone Ortho attempted to resurrect someone who then stuck around as a partner to help him. (Ortho plays Frankenstein here.) It'll also create a subplot where Idia and Ortho are awkward around each other as Idia will feel guilt that he's able to be free while Ortho can't. On top of that, he'll be jealous of Ortho's partner who he sees as taking his role as a brother.
And without further ado:
Link to the other Vice Housewardens;

Jade Leech: Link Jamil Viper: Link Rook Hunt: Link Ortho Shroud (He counts!): Link Lilia Vanrogue: Link
