Ara Iral:

Don't get me wrong, I love Maven, but Ara Iral is so badass. She is an elderly woman, a grandmother, in a YA fantasy series, whose character is not defined by her age. She is intimidating and formidable to her enemies, but loved and admired by her own family. Ara is one of only a handful of female High House leaders in the series(I believe the others are the heads of House Eagrie and House Greco). She stood up to Elara Merandus and was imprisoned because of it. In the end, Ara ended up fighting and dying beside Mare, a Red, someone she had been taught was beneath her, for her own freedom. The Panther is truly a memorable character, and one I wish we could have learned more about.

*DEEP BREATH* SO! THIS MAN HAS BEEN MANIPULATED SINCE HE CAME OUT THE WOMB, DUDE'S GOT MORE TRAUMA THAN I HAVE CRUSHES (and lemme tell u that's a lot). HE'S BI. AND GAY FOR HIS (dead) BEST FRIEND. HE'S HOT, SO HE SHOULD GET EXTRA POINTS. And my boi got to marry all the baddies in the series [Mare, Evangeline, Iris]. HE WOULD BURN THE WORLD aND NOT LET A SINGLE FLAME TOUCH HIS BELOVED [Mare].THIS MAN HAS THE ENERGY OF A SLEEP DEPRIVED WET CAT. I LOVE HIM. He deserves to win, I put my boi in every tournament I can, and he don't win 👁💧👄💧👁. And he's my adopted wet cat, I love him <3 [and he has also committed mucho bad stuff, but he's just a cute little wet cat man, promise! <3] I wanna ramble more, but I have homework :((( BUT THIS MAN IS THE ULTIMATE ONE.

Just re reading Red Queen and wtf Ara Iral deserved better than what she got. Like no, she was a queen and she did not deserve to die at all. Just saying that what happened to her was not fair for even a second.

This was originally just going to be a drawing of a single eye. Then a pair of eyes. Then a pair of eyes and a nose. Then a pair of eyes and a nose and a mouth. Then it needed a whole face. Until it turned into some generic silver from Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. Then I decided it looked like it could be lady Ara and I added some colour. I haven't actually read the whole series yet, I'm still on glass sword but I'll finish reading it soon

Minor Characters in Books I loved–Sonya Iral from the Red Queen Series.

House Irals are silks, no super Silver ability like the others, but gifted with perfect agility and balance.

(I’m not completely sure if this is true or not because I found that Victoria Aveyard isn’t super consistent with character descriptions/ doesn’t really describe them until later on in the book when we already have a mental image) In King’s Cage it says that Mare has brown skin. When Mare is painted into Mareena they put on silver paint, to make her skin look silver. The only dark Silvers we meet throughout the book are from House Iral, and later end up betraying Maven to help the Reds. So, are the blood colors just symbols for skin colors, something that has has divided us here as well?
