A ctivities - What do they like to do with their partner? How do they spend their free time with them?

Going out to the bar, bonus if Sekijiro Kan/Vlad King comes as well - at least while you're in the getting-to-know-each-other-still phase of things. You could probably get him to a drag show and/or burlesque if you asked real nice too. He might feign a complaint but have a good time, especially if you get really into it. He likes seeing you happy.

He isn't much for big adventures or anything but he wouldn't say no to a nature hike or a casual outing together on his rare day off.

He does enjoy your alone time though once you get to that point.

B eauty - What do they admire about their partner? What do they think is beautiful about them?

He's someone who is into the quality of a person's character rather than having a lot of physical preferences. His heightened sense of smell makes me think a person's pheromones/scent signature would be a big part of his attraction to someone.

He’d likely be into someone with a strong will who isn’t afraid to stand up for themselves or those they care about.

C omfort - How would they help their partner when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Ryo has a very keen sense of smell and would be able to pick up on any adverse moods pretty quickly. He can’t read minds though so he’d meet you where you’re at and be mindful of your needs to help you feel better.

If you haven’t had the chance to talk to him about those needs before you have a panic attack around him, he’ll do his best to navigate the situation even if you’re not verbal. He’d approach with a conversation later on to help plan out what to do next time.

Then open the conversation to specify ways he helped and ways he could do better. He wouldn’t give you any grief about taking care of you at all.

D reams - How do they picture their future with their partner?

If you’ve crossed the threshold into Canine Loyalty Territory then it’s likely he’s envisioning something long term. He’s pragmatic so I don’t see him getting overboard with it, but he’s aware of the things he enjoys about you and could see things moving forward.

He’s likely to bring it up in private once he’s certain about how he feels; his confrontational nature makes it easy for him to approach potentially difficult conversations. He simply prefers to have everything on the table and be sure you’re on the same page.

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Dominant, for sure. I don't think there's anything else to say for that really LOL.

He's huge, hot headed, but also realistic. Dominant by nature, but I think he'd do fine with a partner who has similar traits - or at least is someone who isn't too intimidated to call him on his shit.

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their partner? How are they fighting?

Hound Dog is a hot head big time, we know this. That said, we’ve only seen him from the perspective of students needing to be talked to for making rash decisions which makes him upset. If he got *really* angry with you (as in, losing human speech) it would likely be out of concern for your safety/health, if you made a decision that got you in danger for example.

Also a “If you die, I’ll kill you!” kinda vibe

Forgiveness isn’t an issue, Ryo seems like an “us vs. the problem” kind of person. He’s a great counselor, and from his actions with Deku during the festival we know he’s good at looking at the bigger picture and being solution oriented.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their partner is doing for them?

According to the Light Novel canon, Hound Dog and Vlad King constantly talk each other up and get emotional about their friendship. Vlad King is a weepy drinker and Hound Dog comforts him and, of course, Vlad is one of few people who can calm Hound Dog down and interpret his speech.

Due to this, I believe Hound Dog is completely aware of any help he gets from others and seeks to repay that in kind. He’s likely a bit stoic in the moment but emotional in private or after a few drinks. He’d be sure you knew how grateful he was if you helped him out in even a small way.

His heart would melt if you noticed he forgot his lunch for the day and you went out of your way to bring it to him, for example. Small gestures are never lost on him.

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their partner? Or do they share everything?

I could see him having a few things he might not say up front, but I don’t think it would be an intentional dishonesty type of situation. Some people just aren’t ready to share things with a new person or in a new relationship.

Once he’s comfortable he wouldn’t hold anything back, though.

I nspiration - Did their partner change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

I said in my first Ryo post that his keen sense of smell helps him tell what people are feeling and how upfront they’re being about it. Again, he can’t read minds but if he’s close to someone then he could easily put the pieces together. If it’s something totally out of left field, then it’s on you to choose to bring him in and ask for help or support, which he would give in a moment.

To quote my original post because I said it just fine there,

“I think, with the right dynamic and awareness of your limits and needs, the honesty factor would be a huge learning experience for a lot of people who date him or spend time with him. As in, communication - honest communication, is really difficult for a lot of people. Sometimes lies are a learned safety mechanism, sometimes it’s coping, sometimes it’s maladaptive daydreaming or dissociation, and sometimes it’s insincere & malicious in intent.”

“You wouldn’t have to do the “saying yes when you mean no” thing. You wouldn’t have to make yourself small when you’re with him. I doubt he’d judge any of your struggles, he’d just want you to be open and honest with him so he can meet you where you’re at.”

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

At first I leaned into yes but unless it's a situation where the relationship hasn't been defined clearly yet, I don't think he'd feel threatened by other people.

Again, I'm attributing it to his sense of smell, at least in terms of trusting his partner. He might get grumbly with someone if they were clearly bothering you, but he wouldn't get jealous.

After a couple drinks though that might be a different story, he'd be more likely to lean into his protective nature in that case.

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Well, kissing Ryo is different because he doesn't have a human mouth. The first kiss might be a lick on the cheek or neck coupled with him nuzzling his face on yours. A clear display of affection.

Since licking is his form of kissing, he wouldn’t be likely to do it in public especially if you’re someone who wears makeup. He’s not looking for a mouth full of foundation or put you in a situation where you have to redo your look.

If his partner doesn’t wear makeup then he might be one to sneak a “kiss” in when he can during the day but in low key ways.

L ove Confession - How would they confess to their partner?

I think he'd be a little nervous at first. He'd go out for a drink with Sekijiro to talk about it and get some encouragement. Sekijiro would get emotional and brotherly about it, I'm sure. Ryo would probably end up consoling him by the end of the night and his friend's reaction to him wanting to confess would give him more confidence. Vlad knows Hound Dog better than anyone so if he approves of a partner it makes a difference.

It wouldn’t be a big production or anything, maybe invite you over to watch a movie or make dinner together. You'll spend the evening catching up, exchanging a joke or two. He can sense how relaxed you are around him. He can also sense when your heart rate increases just a little when he approaches behind you. Not out of fear, but something else...

While you work at the stove, he leans in from behind you and gives you a small lick on the cheek and gently tugs your chin in his direction. Making eye contact he'd say it both with real meaning and so casual you have to take a second to process what just happened.

Turning from the stove you stand on your tiptoes and pull his face to yours, nuzzling the cheek he licked on his nose and say it back to him.

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

Marriage is in his radar but not something he actively seeks or would settle for if he was on the fence about someone. He’d want to be 100% certain he wants to spend his life with his partner, no half-measures.

He'd propose in a similar way to his love confession, except it would be one of few times he'd try for a special evening. Your favorite restaurant, favorite dessert. Maybe the place he took you on your first date. Something low-key and enjoyable for both of you.

While walking together through a park or at the waterfront afterwards, he'd kneel down and pop the question.

I doubt it would be random, the decision to marry isn't a light one so he'd have open discussions about marriage. You'd have no idea when he'd pop the question, however. Or how.

Marriage would deepen his loyalty tenfold. In marrying him you already know what to expect from him, nothing would change dramatically after the wedding bells. He'd be someone to truly build a life and grow with.

N icknames - What do they call their partner?

He's 6'5" and thick af, so chances are you're smaller than him in size.

I could see him using cute terms of endearment, or maybe having a few different pet names he goes through. He calls the students pups so probably not that for an SO, but maybe depending on the relationship dynamic.

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

I think the only person it would be super obvious to is Vlad King. They're close enough that he can translate for Ryo when he's too angry to talk so I think he'd see the signs early on.

Others in Hound Dogs general proximity might notice he’s a little more docile when you’re around, but they wouldn’t bring it up.

In terms of how he expresses his feelings, he’d start to escort you place’s if you had to walk somewhere. You’d strike up conversation and he’d be a great active listener - asking you questions and getting you to talk about your favorite things. He’d enjoy watching you light up about your favorite topics.

He’d also express concern for your comfort and safety in situations that might seem silly to you, but it starts to dawn that he might be interested.

From there it might segue into Vlad King asking you to join them for drinks on Ryo’s behalf, or maybe sneakily inviting you because he could tell there was an attraction there. Maybe conveniently have to excuse himself for a moment to give you some alone time.

He’d take the chance to ask you about your favorite hobbies and the conversation can just flow all night. Having Vlad there would help keep things cohesive and you’d be entertained by hearing them reminisce about their younger days.

P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag about their partner in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?

He's totally open about the relationship, if he has a shy partner he wouldn't make them uncomfortable, but he is prone to brag if he's really into someone.

Again, he wouldn't lick you in public or anything, but he is one to put an arm around you or rest a hand on the small of your back if he senses you getting nervous about something.

I think after a few drinks Ryo would absolutely talk about his partner in a big way, and be more affectionate. In the light novels he's notably outspoken about how much he appreciates Vlad. They both gas each other up a lot and Ryo would absolutely bring that energy to a romantic relationship too.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

His sense of smell, of course.

“He’d be able to detect even minute changes in your body, he actually might be able to alert you if something changes that you might not notice yourself (as in, something to get checked out by a doctor). Also his Canine Loyalty is a unique attribute of his quirk. Basically once you’re in, you’re in. He’s a ride-or-die big time with those he’s close to.

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their partner happy? Cliché or rather creative?

I don't see him as being a huge romantic - you wouldn't get grand gestures or a surprise he planned for months. But he would be mindful of your favorite things and comforts. He’s more of a small gesture kind of dude (both giving and recieving), and practical in ways he’s supportive. If he buys you a gift it’s never off the mark, he gets you something that reminds him of you and that really means something.

On a special occasion he might treat you to a nice weekend at a hot spring on an anniversary if your schedules align.

S upport - Are they helping their partner achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

Yes he’s a great supportive partner, and he’d do whatever he could to help them achieve their pursuits. He believes and trusts them hands down, and that feeling is mutual. It’s one of his best traits, actually. There’s not much more to say than that for this lol.

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice up your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

He's more into routine, especially with how hazardous hero work can be. Having consistency at home or in a relationship would be important to him. That's not to say he wouldn't try anything new but he's perfectly content once a routine is found.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

Ryos great listening skills makes him easy to talk to once you get past the abrasive exterior. He's a school counselor so he'd be empathetic to your struggles and needs big time, and is happy to meet you where you're at.

He may get frustrated and grumbly sometimes, especially if he feels like other people aren’t giving you the respect you deserve - but he won't tell you how to live your life.

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

He would hold a relationship in high regard, but not to the point of it impacting his responsibilities as a hero and counselor. He values his friendship with Vlad a lot and I think in comparison of importance it would be close until you've been together a while.

His relationships are very significant to him, and that spans beyond romantic ones.

W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

He absolutely loves it when you play with his hair. Especially if it's shedding time, if you spend the time to help him brush through his hair he’ll be eternally grateful. Even better if you can make a day of it and just massage his scalp and give him a good deep treatment.

X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?

It depends on his mood. If he's really rumbly it might take some time to cool off. When he's in the mood though expect to get lots of affectionate licks and head rubs. He loves to smell the scent of him on you.

Let him snuggle up to you and scratch his scalp or behind his ears and he'll melt under your attention.

Y earning - How will they cope when they’re missing their partner?

He'll spend time with your things, laying on your pillow or grabbing one of your favorite shirts. The smell of you would bring him comfort.

He’d text and check in with you often but not in a helicopter boyfriend kind of way.

Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lengths for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

Absolutely, as said above I don't think he'd do anything that would interfere with his responsibilities but he'd do whatever he could to help solve a problem. In terms of relationship dynamics, he'd be approachable for hard conversations and open to compromise and meeting halfway. Pragmatic, intelligent, and empathetic - he really has the potential to be a great companion. It’s in his DNA!

KaiKashi Fluff Alphabet!

So @eye-of-moon-15 had an interesting request: the Fluff Alphabet for KaiKashi! This was lots of fun, thank you so much for asking for this! (It’s actually helping me get my mojo back for TUTN, too!) :)

Activities -What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?

Mostly they’re pretty content to just be in the same room, doing their own things. In a more “modern/AU” setting where TV is a thing (or I guess the...shudder...Boruto era?), they’d definitely do Netflix binges.

B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?

Kaiya has a thing for Kakashi’s facial bone structure. I mean, the man is practically chiseled from marble. She also reeeeally loves his shoulders. And back. And chest. Basically, the whole upper torso. Oh, and that lazy smile he has when he first wakes up.

Kakashi admires a lot about Kaiya...though if he HAD to pick...she has a great ass. He also loves how her whole face lights up when she’s excited about something, and how energetic she becomes.

C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?

Kaiya is more prone to panic attacks than depressive episodes, so when one happens, Kakashi first reminds her to breathe. He usually also stays near her, having her focus on him until she calms down, then holding her if she needs it.

Kakashi, on the flip side, is more prone to depressive episodes. When Kaiya notices one happening, she’ll often come up behind him and wrap her arms around him, just reminding him that he isn’t alone, he isn’t worthless or a failure, he is loved.

D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?

For Kakashi, this is perhaps the first time he’s ever seen himself settling down, or even wanting to. He imagines the two of them traveling together, raising dogs or kids or both, and - wonder of wonders - growing old together.

Kaiya cannot imagine her future without Kakashi. Period. Whatever happens, whatever they wind up doing, it’ll be together. So...kind of the same ^_^

E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?

Kaiya’s the dominant one. Kakashi is more passive and tends to defer to her :P

F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?

Well, considering that Kaiya’s forgiven Kakashi for essentially lying about her own identity to her for much of her life...there isn’t much they can’t work through :P When they do fight or argue, they’re pretty opposite: Kaiya NEEDS to talk and express what she’s thinking and feeling, but Kakashi tends to process things internally. Especially in the beginning of their relationship (and long before it was romantic), this was very difficult for Kaiya especially to adjust to and understand. She would misinterpret his lack of communication as apathy, rather than recognize that Kakashi is just a much more introverted person who’s unused to expressing himself openly.

G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?

Sooooo grateful on both ends! Kaiya sometimes can’t believe that Kakashi has been with her, in one way or other, for so long - even during a more tumultuous period where she went back to a certain old flame. He understands her better than anyone has before, and his steady presence is like a rock for her.

Kakashi also can’t believe that this gorgeous, smart, witty woman sees anything in him - and not least of all because of the major lie that loomed over their friendship in the beginning! He’s long assumed he was either unworthy of love, or that even if he did get close to someone, that just meant that he’d lose them. Or - his worst nightmare - that HE would be the one to end their life somehow. He’s grateful for every day they’re alive together. Also, Kaiya challenges him, pushes him to be a more actively involved person in the village rather than simply following orders. She helped him become more proactive at a time in his life when he’d stagnated a bit. 

H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?

Uhhhh....well, not anymore. After the Big Lie about Kaiya’s identity, they’ve endeavored to be honest with each other.

I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

Lol - I feel like “G” kind of touched on this :P For Kaiya, Kakashi is a grounding force. Also, by learning to trust him again after the Big Lie, she learned to trust herself again as well - her instinct about him, that he was a good person, really had been right. After Itachi and the massacre...she’d lost that confidence in her own judgment.

Kakashi did change as well. By opening himself up to Kaiya, he opened himself up to living life and having a future.

J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?

Eh, not really on either side, actually. They trust each other - though they might get annoyed with people who are overly persistent with the other :P

K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?

Kakashi is a GREAT kisser. Assertive, but not aggressive - a perfect balance of give and take. Very much a tease with his tongue :P

Kaiya is a passionate kisser, though she tends to let the other person take the lead. However, she’s more than happy to initiate :P

I’ll answer this as a hypothetical, though it happened in the old TUTN :P Kaiya would be pretty straightforward, though she’d ramble her way through it out of nervousness!

Kakashi...I think he’d be straight-forward too, but in a casual way. Like...he’d just say something like, “So...I like you.” And it would be out of nowhere, apropos of nothing. But it would also take him a looooooong time to finally say it :P

M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?

When the question of marriage comes up, it’s after they’ve been together for a while. They already live together. Heck, they may have already had a kid. It only comes up as a practical concern, or because other people have been hounding them about it. They wouldn’t want a big wedding, and would prefer to just elope. However, if that wasn’t an option (and it probably wouldn’t be), Kaiya would have Gorou give her away, and Kakashi would have Guy as his best man. After the wedding, it’d be back to life as usual, though they’d each get a kick out of calling each other “husband” and “wife” :P

N icknames - What do they call their s/o?

Kaiya has several for Kakashi: Old man, Copy-Nin, (teasing) sensei, (also teasing) Hokage-sama

Kakashi doesn’t have many for Kaiya. But when he is Hokage, he’ll call Kaiya “Hokage-sama” and insist she’s the one who does all the work. Partly in an attempt to make her do the work. :P

O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?

Omg...just about everyone could tell these two would be a Thing long before they finally got together. They were constantly teasing and bantering with each other. Kakashi would actually show up on time to things having to do with Kaiya (well, sometimes). When they do finally get together, they don’t think they act any different...but they do. It’s in how they look at each other, how they always seem to be close together.

They don’t actively hide it, but they don’t advertise, either. People know they’re together (See “O”), but they’re not big into PDA, at least at first. Later on, after they’ve been together a while and things are less tense in the village overall, they’re more open about having arms around each other and little pecks. They still save the heavier stuff for more private places.

Q uirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Kakashi’s a good cook - better than Kaiya is! Kaiya CAN cook, and she’s learned a lot from Hikaru, but she’s more used to quick, convenient meals with long shelf lives.

Kaiya...well, her barrier jutsu has come in very handy at times...if ya know what I’m sayin’ ;)

R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?

Kakashi likes making candlelit dinners for them. He definitely prefers it to going out! Kaiya humors Kakashi’s requests to try out things from Icha Icha ;) She’d never admit it out loud, but once she got past the squick factor of her godfather being the creator of that series, she actually has fun playing out the scenarios.

S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?

Definitely! These two are partners in many things - life, work. Even at the start, Kakashi supported and low-key mentored Kaiya, training with her so she could be a stronger fighter and being a sounding board for her Fuinjutsu work. For a while, Kaiya actually felt inadequate, like she didn’t have any way to reciprocate; Kakashi is older, more experienced...what did she offer? But she pushes him, keeps him on his toes, and provides confidence when he’s lacking. Eventually, they’re on more even footing in a lot of ways.

T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out their relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?

Sometimes, yes, they do try out new things - usually in the bedroom (or wherever they happen to be trying those new things!). There isn’t much in everyday life they try, though. They’re usually just relieved to have a relatively calmer, less drama- and danger-filled life.

U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?

They’ve gotten to know each other very well. Again, in the beginning, Kaiya had a hard time with Kakashi because he just isn’t very outwardly expressive. But once she learned to interpret his subtle tells, and once he learned how to talk about his thoughts and feelings more, they’ve gotten very good at reading each other.

V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

It’s one of the most important things in each of their lives. It’s not the ONLY thing - there’s family, friends, their commitment to making the world better, etc. But they never take it for granted.

They’ll distract themselves, usually with work, or if possible (ie, they’re not on a lonely mission), with friends and family. If/when phones become a thing in the Narutoverse, they’d definitely call each other at least once a day to check in (assuming circumstances allowed).

Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?

I think so. It goes without saying that they’d die - or kill - for each other, but I see this question as being about other parts of a long term relationship. They’d be open to things like counseling. One might think that their busy, mission-filled lives would get in the way and create resentment on at least one side...but for the most part, it doesn’t. One of the reasons they work so well together is that they both understand how important the village and their work is. They’re used to putting other things above their own needs and desires. However...sometimes they do need to just take time off to be together, just the two of them. Sometimes that’s harder for them to do than arguing or fighting off enemies. Again, they don’t take their relationship for granted necessarily...but they do forget that they’re allowed to be selfish sometimes for their own sakes.

I struggle with adhd, depression, and ptsd a lot. Please, be patient with my posting schedule and Ao3 updates. It’s not ideal, I know, but I’m trying to get things out as quickly as I can, at the quality I want.

I don’t take requests, but I won’t mind getting some suggestions! If you saw headcanons or a scenario that you would like to see with another character, feel free to send an ask or a message. If I’m not already working on it (because I do have some planned, mainly the smut and fluff alphabets), it might motivate me to write it. However, I can’t guarantee anything. I often jump between works, sometimes abandoning one completely.

I’ll answer simple questions about characters. It’s best to keep the question short and sweet. I should be able to answer it within 5 minutes (10 tops). If it takes more time than that, then I probably won’t answer (I’ll let you know if I won’t). Or I might be inspired and turn the question into drabbles or headcanons!

There are some things I won’t write about so please don’t expect anything with them:

Yandere/non-con (and everything that goes along with it) - I personally don’t understand the appeal and any form of abuse is a big no-go for me.

Smut with underage characters - I know people age them up in their fics, but for me being an adult, I have a hard time looking at them like that. 

Teacher x Student in romantic/sexual contexts

Intense BDSM - I’m fine with (and quite enjoy) Daddy Dom, choking, spanking/slapping, hair pulling, and a few other things but I will not do anything really hardcore such as leather, knives, whips, blood, just serious pain and intense bondage in general.

Others (some of these aren’t completely off the table- I just have to be in the mood): overstimulation as a kink, period sex, babies, pregnancy/childbirth, and marriage/proposals/honeymoons

Much Ado About SPN Results:

SPN Fanfic Writers Team Up With Shakespeare!

It’s April 23, 2017--453 years to the day since (historians believe) that William Shakespeare, one of the greatest English writers ever, was born...and 401 years to the day since the day the Bard died! :��(

However, his words live on in his plays that are performed each year, the movie adaptations, the sayings in everyday conversation...and now in Supernatural fanfiction!

When I hit 1.5k followers, I put out a rather daunting challenge to my followers: Write a Supernatural fic using a line from one of Shakespeare’s plays, and incorporate 2-3 SPN-themed words that begin with the same letter (I, like WS appreciate alliteration).

24 brave souls took on the challenge.

The results are below the read more link, along with a brief review/rec from me for each. I hope you enjoy these and take the time to share some love with the writers--this challenge was truly out of the box and they wrote some incredible things as a result.

“A Life I Would Have Known” by @buffylovesfoxmulder

Prompts: Anna, Angel Blade, AU (French Mistake/EndVerse) and “This above all: to thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man” (Hamlet I.3).

My Fangirling:  An episode rewrite of the French Mistake where Anna subs in for a much more earnest Balthazar and the reader has a surprise up her sleeve for the Winchesters. I loved it. Lengthy, but worth the read. :) 

“Wanted” by @arlaina28

Prompts: Benny Lafitte, Bunker, Brothers,  “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; for he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother” (Henry V IV.3).

My Fangirling: An absolutely lovely smut fic between Benny and the Reader that builds up in canon-style characterizations from first meeting to the “I love you” stage. An excellent read, and a brilliant use of her prompts.

Prompts: Donna Hanscum, Devil's Gate, Deals, and “ “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so” (Hamlet II.2).

My Fangirling:  Mimi delivered again! An angsty-suspense with flashes of fluff Donna x Dean fic around the danger of a Devil’s Gate—the one in Wyoming. I loved this fic, and it’s not even my ship, so definitely check it out….and hold onto your seat!

“The Valiant” by @littlegreenplasticsoldier

Prompts: Ellen Harvelle, EMF Reader, and “Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant never taste of death but once” (Julius Caesar II.2). 

My Fangirling:  I--I don’t know what to say here…it was beautiful and sad and it must have taken you so much time to create this, and I love it. It’s an angsty peek into Dean’s head during his time with Lisa, how he’s struggling to maintain, how he’s trying to cope with Sam’s loss—and it’s done in VERSE. You almost want to read it out loud. I just love this…and I think Shakespeare would be proud.

Prompts: First Blade, Fathers, “What’s gone and what’s past help should be past grief” (Winter’s Tale III.2)

My Fangirling: A Reader x Dean angst fic where she learns of a pregnancy that she hadn’t planned on and tries to explain to a Dean who worries about fatherhood. I loved the canon characterization.

Prompts: Hell Hound, Hex Bags, Heaven, and  “We know what we are, but know not what we may be.” (Hamlet IV.5)

My Fangirling:  With what was probably the coolest title in this challenge, she did an amazing job on this fic that had some really conflicting and challenging prompts! It’s short and sweet, with no pairing, but extremely intriguing and it raised so many questions for me. Brava!

“Not So Innocent After All” by @im-most-definitely-fangirling

Prompts: Impala (Baby), Innocence, and “If music be the food of love, play on” (Twelfth Night I.1).

My Fangirling:  A body-swap fic between the Reader and Dean that reveals a lot of what they’ve been hiding from each other. I loved this—besides, where can you go wrong when you end up riding Dean on the Impala? AmIright ladies?

Prompts: Jody Mills, John's Journal, Job (Hunting),  “Tempt not a desperate man” (Romeo and Juliet IV.3). 

My Fangirling:  I love it! The fluff with a hint of angst and reader being besties with Jody? Brilliant! She did a great job working in ALL of the prompts and this fic is fantastic. I absolutely love Jody as a matchmaker--I can just see her worrying about finding the boys the perfect lady. :) Dean x Reader with future fun times—nothing wrong with that!

“Just a Little Magic...” by @wi-deangirl77

Prompts: Meg Masters, Mark of Cain, Magic (Witchcraft), “I am one who loved not wisely but too well” (Othello V.2). 

My Fangirling: I was prepared for weird when I put Mark of Cain with Meg Masters and Magic, but Jess managed a canon style fic of angsty goodness that everyone should read. It’s MOC!Dean x Reader and...oh, it’s just lovely. Go read! She says it’s the start of a new series—and I, personally, can’t wait to read it!

“Chase the Nightmares Away” by @destiel-addict-forever

Prompts: Nephilim, Naomi's Room, Nightmares, “You pay a great deal too dear for something that’s given freely” (Winter’s Tale I.1).

My Fangirling:  This cute little fluffy drabble is a Daddy!Lucifer fic (not kink, reader is Luci’s kid), something I imagine we’ll see more and more of as this current series continues. I swear, when I made the prompt list and put Nephilim on it, I had no idea it would become such a big thing this year on the show! Great job.

Prompts: Pagan God (Not Loki/Gabriel), Pie, Pranks, “We have seen better days” (As You Like It II.7) and (Timon of Athens IV.2). 

My Fangirling: I absolutely loved this! It was beautifully characterized: witty reader, western-loving Dean, sassy Rowena, protective/knowledgeable Sam….and the way you combined your prompts…I just loved it. Comedy, alternate timeline, canon style…what is not to love here?

“Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” by @roxy-davenport

Promtps: Queen of Hell (Abaddon), Quincunx (Hoodoo symbol), Quips, and  “Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall. Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none, and some condemned for one fault alone” (Measure for Measure II.1). 

My Fangirling:  A rewrite of an awesome episode to include a reader insert and pairing with Crowley, this fic, like many of @roxy-davenport’s, shows a sentimental and charming side of the King of Hell in a way that even makes this Dean!Girl think fondly of the red-eyed demon. I loved the sassy way she broke down the Shakespeare quote in the fic.

“Together We Thrive” by @deansarms

Prompts: Ruby's Knife, Revenge  “I burn, I pine, I perish” (Taming of the Shrew I.1).

My Fangirling: I can NOT compliment this work enough. Absolute brilliance. It’s a poem that switches from Dean’s perspective (in italics) to Sam’s perspective. It centers around the Shakespeare quote, but it provides canon accurate characterization and plot in verse form, and it….ugh, just go read it. I think I’ve reread it like five times now. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

“Friendships is Constant” by @atc74

Prompts: Samuel Campbell, Sigils, Souls, “Friendship is constant in all other things” (Much Ado About Nothing, II.1). 

My Fangirling:  Canon-style fluff and character analysis set in season 12, Angelina used all of her prompts, and created a catch-up moment between the boys and their mother that I think we all want to see happen on the show. Short, sweet, and adorable. 

“Goodnight” by @besslincoln-bruh

Prompts: Uriel, Uniforms (Outfits), Underdog, and “Strong reasons make strong actions” (King John III.4). 

My Fangirling:  An interesting AU with a future Dean x Reader pairing. Reader is a lawyer trying her first defense case—to prove Dean Winchester innocent when the world (and the evidence) is against him. It was hard to tear myself away from this fic, and a creative use of all the prompts. Well worth a read!

“Sweet Revenge” by @plaidstiel-wormstache

This is a completed series. The link above is to the masterlist. She wrote it at as one long one-shot with the quote at the end, but I encouraged her to make it a series--and the whole thing is fabulous.

Prompts: Vengeful Spirits, the Veil, Vessel, and “If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?” (Merchant of Venice III.1).

My Fangirling: This friend went way above and beyond the call of duty and wrote a truly spectacular SERIES based off this prompt, with some inspiration in the form of a rather intriguing OFC. No pairing, but a beautiful use of all prompts in a canon-style fic set during John’s first solo hunt. Angst, sprinkles of fluff, some dark emotional stuff, and so much canon beauty…I love it. I don’t want to play favorites on this challenge, but this one is my favorite.

“Wrath” by @waywardjoy

Prompts: Werewolf, Wooden Stake, Wrath, and  “Is this a dagger which I see before me…or art thou but a dagger of the mind, a false creation” (Macbeth II.1).

My Fangirling: Short but strong, an angsty Dean x Reader piece where you see the unbridled danger that is a wrathful Winchester. My wonderful bestie worked in all of her alphabet prompts and her Shakespeare quote brilliantly. She also helped me put this whole challenge together, so extra kudos to her. :D
