G/N Reader Notes: I’ll die for Jason. He’s my roman empire. Anyway- some fem pronouns mighta slipped in there! Fluff... sorta!

Jason Yoon- the average-height drink of water that usually glues himself to someone else’s side. Anyone’s side… except for yours… it seems. Dark, brooding, intelligent; Jason could be found hovering around Jake Kim, rolling his eyes at the boss’ stubbornness and ill-timed humor. When he wasn’t with Jake then he was with Brad Lee; the two of them would walk wherever and whenever they wanted. Jason wasn’t even an extrovert… and yet you always saw him in the company of someone else. Well, actually, maybe he was an extrovert. Either way, he seemed to keep away from you. It was bothersome really. Jason had an attractive, captivating personality. A little brash sometimes, quiet and intuitive, but also stupid and hotheaded. He was a piece of work, honestly. Besides that… all he seemed to do was Taekwondo. You had nothing against it initially, but after a while it became the most attractive thing on the face of the planet.

That dark, sharply-angled glass of water… that stalky hunk, that mass of eye candy, never seemed to bat an eye in your direction. It’s not that you wanted his constant affection… but it was true that you hung around Big Deal more often than most. You were even considered friends with a majority of the highest ranking members. You weren’t overly attracted to any of them though. I mean… they were nice… but…

You sat on the stairs outside of a flower shop. Leaning against your knees, hands cupping your face, and feeling a little drowsy. It’s been thirty minutes since you arrived today to the street. Not very long. Half of that time you’ve spent here. On the stairs. Eavesdropping.

Honestly how can you not eavesdrop? The boss is washing his junky car, and his idiot goons (affectionate) are helping him. Lots of drama is bound to ensue.

At present Lineman and Jason are bickering about… the mental capacity of the other. You sit there, listening to them banter back and forth. While you admit, it’s not easy to tire from listening to Jason’s voice, or Lineman’s for that matter, it’s getting a little excessive. Especially when you try to interject and defend Lineman (who you’re pretty close to), only to have your words snuffed out.

Not glance your direction; not even a hint of acknowledging your words. At this point you’ve given up. You just watch as the two talk back and forth. “Don’t use the rough side of the sponge you idiot-”

“There’s no wrong side of the sponge! Look… they’re both soft-"

You sigh and refrain from smiling, watching as Lineman sheepishly realizes Jason was, once again, correct.

“Good try Lineman,” you chuckle. He turns to you with a slightly embarrassed smile. Jason, sure enough, ignores you again. He plows right on with a playful insult (at least it sounds more playful).

You furrow your brows slightly. You’re little hurt, actually. You understand, you can’t be friends with everyone. You’re probably not going to ever pluck up the courage to confess to him. Chances of ever being a couple are near zero. But still… something about him is starting to bug you. The hose nearby has fallen limp to the floor as the boys scrubs suds onto the car. You notice it’s still on.

Jason swats Lineman’s hand away as he begins invading his side of the car to wash. He shakes his head and tries not to smile, and succeeds. Lineman gawks, “What?”

“You missed some spots over there. Look-”

“(Y/N) might stare if you bend over…” Lineman mutters.

Jason whacks him with his soppy washcloth, glaring. Like he cares. He continues washing the left door of the car, shooting Lineman tiny glares when he can. “Hey Jason, d’ya think L-”

SQUIRT.

The entire side of the car is suddenly drenched in water. Including Jason. Lineman jumps backwards in surprise, staring down at his sopping wet arms and then back towards the car. The water turns off and drips from the hose, which then clatters to the floor as you awkwardly retreat.

Jason (and Lineman…. And Jerry now too-) stare back at you, exasperated and confused. Number Three stars to form a bitter glare, dropping the cleaning supplies and beginning to stalk towards you.

You take a couple steps backward, “Just… stop being such a jerk.”

You’ll admit… he was actually kinda… when he was all wet…

Arms wrap around your waist and you’re hoisted off the ground, carried and forced against the car… drenched in water yourself by Lineman and Jerry as Jason holds you in place.

Your sides hurt from laughing by the time they’re finished… and all you mind can think of is that Jason’s actually being chill for once.

Lineman turns off the hose, letting the water drip off to the side and grinning at your sopping wet selves. Jerry pats your head politely while you and Jason begin ringing out your clothes.

“I’m not a jerk,” Jason says.

“…Hey-! So soaking me out of spite isn’t jerky behavior?”

Jake calls from the opposite side of the car.

“He’s just being petty!”

he left his new family and suddenly turned into a robot, living with a bunch of aliens he's never met that put the mission above people's lives

Caspar Von Bergliez!!!

Let me get this out of the way first, I know Caspar isn’t much of a hunk pre-time skip, but POST-time skip, now those are muscles my dude, but I digress. Caspar is a very easygoing guy, albeit hotheaded. No matter how awkward or strange a person may be, Caspar won’t hesitate to approach them. If there’s someone who wouldn’t be daunted by your intimidating mien, it’d be Caspar. Just like Caspar, you care a lot about people. While you express this through sentimentality, Caspar shows it through his sense of justice and love of fighting (the irony). By virtue of the importance he places on justice, it’s only natural that he’d want a partner with the same set of values, such as yourself. That being said, considering how reckless and headstrong he can be while “executing justice”, he also needs someone who won’t egg him on but instead calm him down or make him reconsider his actions before going through with them. So overall your shared feelings of sympathy for people, as well as his rashness and your rationale combines would make for a good balance between the two of you. In addition to what I’ve just mentioned, because of how eager Caspar is to step in and help people, whether that’d be by defending someone, or helping someone with their chores, as seen in various of his supports, I'd argue his love language is also acts of service. Caspar mainly focuses on defending the innocent and enjoying life, so he’d definitely encourage you to be carefree and funny, and would probably unintentionally be an enabler of sorts at times, his more laid-back lifestyle eventually rubbing off on you. It’s difficult to say whether Caspar seldom feels depressed or not, but what is apparent is that he encourages people to live their best life and stay true to themselves, in your case, to fight and free yourself from your depression. As we all know, Caspar is the second son in his family, so as he himself puts it he has to carve his own path, thus he’d probably be very very supportive of your desire to improve the education system, whether that’d be by granting better access to different opportunities, or equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in life.

Headcannons:

If you were to get flustered around Caspar because of his looks, well you’re in luck, he’ll probably never figure it out, he’s denser than a rock :D (yay?).

It’s probably for the best that you be as blunt as possible with Caspar, in regards to, like, everything, especially when you’re trying to flirt or something of the sort, if not, it’s gonna be a hella awkward and mortifying experience (I'm cringing just thinking about it).

Perfect height for you tbh, pre-time skip he’s kinda short, but taller than you, and post-time skip he is taller and much more muscular. 

Also, be careful what you wish for. As much fun as it is to spend your days held against a big strong chest, he might get overly enthusiastic and crush you in a hug with his muscles, just mentioning this as a precaution.

In all seriousness, he might not initiate any type of physical affection on his own, but once you do, he’ll very gladly reciprocate it.

It’d probably be a bit jarring when Caspar first approaches you, like you’re used to people being a bit wary of you, but Caspar would probably immediately ask you if you want to spar with him and afterwards asking you if you want to have lunch with him or something like that.

Caspar may not be the most clever, but he is definitely one of the most heartfelt people out there. Once he knows how much you struggle with you’re mental health he’ll be the most supportive boyfriend you could ask for. You might need to clarify some stuff for him, but he’ll always try his best to help you. And when you start showing your funny and carefree side, Caspar will be the find your jokes the funniest and your joyfulness the brightest.

In another life, Caspar would also probably be a little punk boy (and a metal fan as well, he’s definitely the type to enjoy screamo lol)

A lot of people might be put off by horror stuff, but Caspar would probably just find it intriguing. He’d probably not understand the nuances behind it, but if it makes you happy, he’d support you to the best of his abilities. 

He is ecstatic that you want to improve the education system, and he is always so proud to tell others about your career (maybe a bit too much lol).

Caspar likes animals as well, together you’d take on the responsibility of caring for all of the stray cats and dogs in the monastery. You are also notorious for adopting animals. Like who needs children when you’ve already got a big family of your own amirite?

You two are always willing to go the extra mile for each other in whatever situation, and you never miss the chance to help each other out. Whether you two declare your love for each other often or not, it’s when you are willing to do anything for one another that you realize how in love you guys are.

"The Eclipse is coming. It is coming for you."

Keith is a Lunaean, a child of night. When he runs away from his Empire to escape his execution, he crashes in Solera, an empire that has been warring with Lunae for centuries. Despite the fact that he should burn up instantly when he steps foot on the land, Keith survives.

Lance is a Soleran, a child of day. He is to inherit the throne to the Soleran Empire but he doesn’t want to, and neither do his people. He has far more interest in the forbidden stars and moons of Lunae and breaking the rules than leading. 

Disguised as Soleran peasants, the two meet by accident in the Kingdom of Corazon. They quickly learn that they are the only two that seem to remember an otherwise forgotten lullaby- one about the rising of wicked witches and an Eclipse that is coming.

Together, the two must work together to stop the Eclipse, or otherwise, the witches will worsen the war and take over both empires. 

There are five major problems though:

1.) Lance is an arrogant not-so-charming Prince who is very distracting and easily distracted. He’s loud and competitive and flirtatious and makes terrible jokes. Although he desperately wants to be the hero his people need, he is constantly drawn to what he is fighting against. Meanwhile, Keith is a mysterious, impulsive, cynical, blunt, and hotheaded rebel who is irritatingly talented enough to stop the Eclipse but seems to only be fighting for himself. He’s terrible with people and can’t seem to escape the past he ran away from. Keith and Lance should be the last people chosen to save the world. 

2.) They instantly and deeply hate each other. 

3.) Lance doesn’t know that Keith is a Lunaean. Nor does he know about his past life as an assassin and the other secrets he’s been hiding.

4.) Neither of them have mageia, the most common form of magic in the world and the form that everyone should have access to by the age of 18 in the Soleran Empire. If Lance doesn’t discover any powers of his own before his 18th birthday, he will be executed. 

5.) The Eclipse may not be what they originally thought and neither may their feelings for each other.

Since I re-wrote this fanfiction, the old and unfinished version is chapters 1-7 while everything current is chapter eight and beyond. Hey I love voltron as much as you do but there are a few things that need to be understood - The fact that so many characters have avatar parallels, Soka and Lance, Keith and Zuko, Allura and Katara, Corran and king Boomie, Toph and Pidge, Shiro and Hakoda, not to mention Voltron is basically the avatar weapon wise. There is also many plot point parallels to both the last airbender and korra. It seems as if there are just too many parallels. I still love the show though. 😀

OH NOW THIS IS AN INTERESTING ASK :D For some reason I never really got into LOK - all the interpersonal drama, both from the relationships and the family stuff exhausted me - so I can’t analyze that show. However, I absolutely adored ATLA (even if I never really got involved in the fandom) so I think I might be able to answer this at least a little^^

[Voltron being the weapon equivalent of the avatar was definitely not a choice that the showmakers did - I mean, it’s a reboot, Voltron being the “most powerful weapon in the universe” was always the point :P]

Now, about the characters!!

Sokka and Lance are veeeery similar, yes. However, there are also a few differences - where Lance is laid-back Sokka isn’t. Sokka would have loved all the technobabble from Pidge and Hunk and he was never big on flirting. What makes them both so similar is a) character design (colors & elements) and b) the role they take up in the team. Both are the comic relief characters (in ATLA Aang helped out; in VLD Hunk helps out) and both of them were the strategy-type. But Lance is street-smart, Sokka is nerd-smart.

Keith and Zuko are kind of similar too - less than Lance and Sokka though, if you ask me. Keith doesn’t care for honor, he was never an antagonist (not even when the Galra reveal thing happened), he never had a problem with showing that he cared (he just doesn’t know how to). What makes them similar is, again, character design, their quick temper, being the loner type and trying to find a place to belong.

I never actually drew a parallel between Allura and Katara^^' Allura doesn’t take care of their group of friends as Katara does and had to unlearn a lot of prejudice - look at Allura’s reaction to finding out that Keith, a friend, was Galra and Katara’s reaction to being locked up together with Zuko underground in Ba Sing Se. Allura gets jealous less easily than Katara does and also makes a lot less “selfish” decisions (like when Katara stole the scroll). I guess they are kind of similar in how they try to mask their true feelings and want to fight for their friends and are pretty stubborn but yeeeah, they give off a completely different vibe to me :’D

Coran and king Boomie. I NEVER UNDERSTOOD KING BOOMIE I DON’T THINK I’M QUALIFIED TO COMMENT ON THIS :’D Boomie didn’t seem that affected by all the trauma he went through when his city got overtaken, as opposed to Coran who hates Zarkon with passion and frequently gives the viewer those sad looks that break my heart. They are both a little weird and eccentric and old but again, this is not a parallel I would have drawn on my own^^'

Toph and Pidge omg heck yes,,, they would have gotten along great :P Pidge is much more of a nerd than Toph though, she shows disgust when Lance makes farting jokes (as opposed to Toph who would have definitely laughed), she cries and shows her vulnerable side rather often and is a lot less sarcastic than Toph. Not to say that she isn’t sarcastic, just less than our favorite, dark-haired spitfire ball :P They are both geniuses at what they do though, I’ll give you that~

Shiro and Hakoda are... idk. I don’t know Hakoda well enough to really make a judgement there^^' I had to google images just to make sure that I remembered the right person (I did btw :P). I don’t think they are that similar though - Shiro has his PTSD, is the unluckiest person alive, is actually rather short-tempered when someone ignores his orders/threatens his friends and has a playful side that comes out pretty often. The main similarities here are that they are “““dads””” and believe in their “““children””” :’D

[I’m not sure about plot similarities, you’d have to point them out for me too so that I can figure them out... apart from stopping an evil empire from taking over the world/universe, that is.]

Space Zuko and Space Sokka are terms I’ve seen rather often and I get how they came to be. Their personalities are rather similar, as are their colors/main themes AND the place they take up in the group is similar too. But they are also different characters; I’m not sure how to describe it but they give off different vibes to me. For example, my favorite person in VLD is Keith, my favorite person in ATLA is either Toph or Sokka idk. 

There are definitely similarities but I doubt that they are there on purpose - the themes fire/hotheaded just go hand in hand, as do the themes water/adaptable. Keith is a pretty standard character, I mean, look at him, you might just as well call him “Space Sasuke”. Overly talented, emo, hotheaded, orphan, cares about his friends but doesn’t know how to show it. It doesn’t surprise me that he exists, a character like that exists pretty much everywhere. 

And then someone had to be the goofball to balance that out, which is why Lance exists. One of the easiest ways to give a goofball more depth is to give them insecurities and traits that show that they are smarter than they seem. 

If we go back to the basics, the vld characters really are nothing special. Pidge managed to summarize them all well enough with one word, so it doesn’t surprise me that we can find multiple parallels to different stories. 

People like to draw parallels to ATLA and LOK because the showmakers were involved with LOK (never with ATLA though) but honestly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ve always seen these shows as two completely different things and approach them as separate stories. Some of the storylines might repeat themselves because both ATLA and LOK taught the audience important lessons that might come up again in VLD in a different setting but that isn’t bad. Parallels/similarities don’t disturb me at all; if the show was made predictable through them the fandom wouldn’t explode after each season thanks to a new cliffhanger/plot twist :P

Lance

Very Clearly ESxx. He’s practically “Extrovert problems” incarnate, poor boi, just wants to be liked & accepted.  

I’d say he has some Fe there but the degree of inappropriate jokes vs value judgements/policing suggests tertiary rather than dominant. ESTP then. 

Pretty much that common Fi PolR/ Fe tert problem of not realizing your own inclinations & opinions of yourself “count” & therefore  looking for external validation a lot. Adding to that is his crazy aim & knack for planning sneaky strategies on the fly, also he once mentioned he has a hard time sleeping if he gets all pumped off, having so much energy it needs to be burned off is a common Se dom issue, as is his concern with looks, status & “finer pleasures” & his competitive streak.

He’s an inert subtype, and enneagram wise he’s such an obvious 3w2 someone who never saw the show could tell just from me reblogging posts about him. He keeps making up roles for himself to play (”cool ninja sharpshooter”) & hoping they catch on with the others, though there’s also an angle of wanting to contribute & be needed. 

imma venture soc/sx but im not adamant on this.  Sanguine classic. 

Also very obvious oldham Inventive with sprinklings of Devoted and Dramatic. He’s also a dead-ringer Mercury-Venus. Also probably Thunderbird.

Gryffindor or Hufflepuff tho? There would probaby be hatstall, but ultimately I feel he would be a “grow into it” Gryffindor. 

The Red Lion only takes them Gryffindors BTW. Come on. Bravery? honor? No self-preservation? Likewise, the green Lion only takes Ravenclaws and the Yellow one only takes hufflepuffs. The recipe is probably more complicated with the other two tho. 

Hunk

The most obvious ISFJ to ever SiFe. 

He’s cautious & prefers the familiar, a good judge of character & may need to see things with their own eyes to grasp their full scope, but also has a big heart cares a lot. Hasthat “inferior Ne panic reaction” too. 

You kinda also see the “dexterous/practical” side of Si with his being a mechanic. The makers have described the contrast between him and pidge as the “figure it out & think it up” side of engineering vs the “buid it & make it work” side of it  which is basically N vs. S in a nutshell. 

Inert Subtype. Pudwudkie Hufflepuff. Nuff said. A 9w1, probably, though with a notable 6w5 fix. sp/soc. Phlegmatic. Venus. Clearly has some Sensitive style in him but he’s not all that shy & fluttery so there’s probably some stabilizing influence there. Not wholly sure if it’s some Leisurely or something else

Allura

Preddy much ESTJ. Brave, dutiful, action-oriented, bossy, fortright, yells a lot, can be rigid sometimes, we know the drill.   

Contact subtype. Mars-Jupiter af. srly that’s just a holistic sumup of her character.  Choleric. (ChlorSan prolly) 2w1  soc/sp? I do think soc  is right & she does have that “politcian-y” quality.  

She’s ever the altrustic helper ready to put her life in danger, insists they answer every distress call,  and has this ‘diplomatic important organization leader’ thing going on that social 2s do.The w1 also manifests as back & white or oversimple thinking at times.

Oldham wise it’s hard, something of a pronounced mixed/intereference pattern with both Self-Sacrifcing and Aggressive in the mix.

Wampus.  I see why someone might say Slytherin but I’m sticking with Gryffindor for now.

Pidge

This one is kinda easy.

INTP 5w6. Ravenclaw. Horned Serpent. Lunar. sp/soc. IDK bout vertical subtype but she rambles/blurts more than she snarks/criticises so I’m saying contact. 

Less sure ‘bout oldham though there’s probably some Vigilant, though not, like, sharp excess.

Imma run with melancholic b/c she’s definitely not pure Phlegmatic or Supine. MelPhleg perhaps. 

Shiro

Apparently there has been a case of “the fan-favorite is always INFJ” (TF?) but I think most of us will agree that he has Te - he’s goot at handing out tasks, managing people, coming up with courses of action...

He rocks that tert Fi too in that he’s a good listener & tries to further the other’s personal developement. 

We often think of natural leaders as extroverts but ISTJ is prolly the introvert most likely to become head-of-state. He just fits the overall patterns of ISTJ: Dilligent, put-together (when he can help it), great integrity, perceptive with details & able to use comparision with past experiences to kick butt in the present (Like when he timed the Sentry Drones’ rounds), though he does’t have the elbowy agression/striving of other TJ-types, and he’s a morning person too. 

He’s probably a contact subtype. Temperament wise he’d be one of those few where I’d be tempted to call ‘balanced/Leukine’, but if I didn’t I’d say ChlorPhleg comes the closest.  1w9 af, prolly sp/soc with a degree of both personalperfectionism & mentoring others present, and also feeling overly responsible for everything. 

Oldham wise an obvious conscientious type. 

While he’d sure have some gryffindor potential, his firm belief in teamwork & humility would probaby land him in Hufflepuff.- Think Cedric Diggory who was also a sort of prodigy. Though he is probably also very much a Wampus.

Also, he’s a classic, archetypical pure Saturn type. Actually, I believe at least partially saturnyne personalities are the Black Lion’s thing. Still not sure how Blue’s could be quantified, apart from possibly favoring extroverts, but that’s probably by design. 

Keith

Mai Spicy Boi! . 

I’m just gonna flat out say that he cannot be anything other than a contact subtype Se auxillary. Just look at all that Se! That’s about as much of the stuff as you can possibly cram into an introvert. 

He’s got sharp senses & reflexes, often reacts to opportunities, observations and impressions in the moment (and very often it’s a deliberate risk that works out - he’s not just “hotheaded” or “not thinking”, but he’s thinking about things to do or investigate, not so much what happens next. ) & improvised, didn’t really have longterm plans after flunking out, He also very much has the ‘decisive’ and agressive side of Se though I wouldn’t call him dominant. 

And I’m saying ISTP over ISFP b/c the Se itself seems a sufficient explanation for his reactive nature,and then there’s general lack of people skills, solitary mode of operation & difficulty with group work (not a shred of Te not even inferior) 

Also, when he’s actually thinking rather than just waltzing in guns blazing, he very much has task-oriented, detached impersonal reasoning  “But can we afford to save the princess? It’s not about the glory. The cause is bigger than any of us.” He’s also very much the cynic of the group or the one most inclined to see things in shades of grey rather than black & whites. 

I doublechecked this to make sure I’m not just assuming him to be a Ti dom b/c he’s my fav character, but ‘ISTP’ really seem to summarize his character & much of the metas written about him very well.

Soo... is he a cp 6? a sp4? An 8? Probably all of those, they don’t call that the “tripple reactive” tritype for nothing but coretype wise I’d put him very much in the action triad as a 8w7, that’s not even all that uncommon for ISTPs. He’s also very distinctly soc blind,(which may explain why he doesn’t really manifest the dominant part of the 8, but he’s very much got the every-man-for-himself, rely-on-no-one rebel part of it, as well as the characteristic problem with backing down/shelving arguments though the other fixes, again, don’t help.  ) not sure if sx/sp or sp/sx, on the one hand he’s...tempestuous, on the other he spent a year as a desert hermit and found itpleasantly calm, at least in part, so if pressed I’d go with sp/sx, also because of his tedency to hold himself apart from the group somewhat without much indication that it’s a conscious choice. 

Oldham wise he’s got some adventurous & some vigilant but also some sort of more emotionally juicy counterpoint to that without which he’d have a lot more hostile unconcern. He’s not clingy enough for Mercurial tho so I’m vaguely at a loss. 

He’s got some more maturity to acquire there but I do think there’s very much a Saturn-Mars underneath it all. Certainly NOT as thought-through as a pure saturn and with no shortage on the action but he does have momentzs of somberness and nuanced understanding.  Very much fits both the archetype of the ‘rugged doer’ and the ‘powerful, cause-oriented person’. though he still has some work to do on the ‘inspiring others’ part. 

Gryffindor, no 2 ways about it. (Some have suggested Slytherin because he’s the “edgy” one but honestly I don’t see that at all. He has zero interest in personal glory or the ‘in-group’ & doesn’t seem to think of himself as special though he would very much have the grounds to do so.) 

The real question is: Wampus or Thunderbird tho?

Coran

Clearly has both Ne (wackyness and quirkyness) and Si (storytime! “Proper” Traditionalist), and too much for either to be the inferior. 

Since he doesn’t seem like a Ne auxillary, that leaves us with ESFJ by principle of exclusion, like he kinda has the chattynes & is always helping with everything & taking all the duties. Probably a contact subtype. 

Hufflepuff for similar reasons. IDK bout Ilvermony but he does have an adventurous side that did shenanigans with the previous paladins, so probably Thunderbird. 

Out of the enneagram types that commonly occur in ExSJ, 9 seems the likeliest, he’s nor dramatic enough for a core type in the emotional triad. I’d say he also has a 7w6 fix somewhere. Also he’s probably soc-first... and in hindsight actualy acts alot like a textbook social 9, working a lot to support the community while not taking the spotlight himself. 

Oldham wise I’d postulate a Dramatic-Devoted mix.

Essence type made me think for a bit i had several inconclusive kneejerk reactions but imma stick with Jupiter for now.

Zarkon

Well, another ESTJ, prolly an inert subtype tho. 

Pretty much your standard evil overlord/ Te dom villain, though he’s more an enforcer than someone who does a lot of lecturing like when he does it’s usually to-the-point, plus he was sorta repressed in his youth & seemingly a strict traditionalist. 

Also a very obvious Aggressive type (complete with the comon constellation where the spouse can deal with & accept that that but the kid’s can’t & regular teenage rebellion ends in dramatic estrangement), like, he would not be questioned even by his best friend even long before he went nuts enough to randomly murder ppl for talking back to him.

You could deem him an  8w9 and a Saturn for similar reasons though he evidently incorporates the more negative aspects of that... though he did have a “protective-responsible” side before things got too sour.

Ovsly Slytherin (& wampus), methinks the whole imperial family would be one those dynastic Slytherin families for all their differences. 

Haggar

I found her hard to get a read on for the first two seasons, but with the backstory reveal I think I can conclude INTx, see the whole lightning speech & the whole “Think of the Potential!” attitude, also her being a misanthropic cat lady & sassing Alfor to his face (”customary gesture”) way before things went all sour.

I am less sure here, but out of the two options INTP is more likely because I think I see more indications for SiFe than for FiSe. Her present day self is markedly more cautious than she was in her younger days. She minimally toys with her victims for effect (Poor Shiro) and has this pretty honest devotion & concern for Zarkon, though she seems content subordinating herself to him, though she has this dourish Si-Ti bubble-popping, “Yeah sure but be cautious” attitude especially in interaction with Lotor & Zarkon.  

Beyond that, i’d say that she is a very clearly an inert subtype, a Serious-primary and probably some fashion of 5w6 (by principle of exclusion). Slytherin & Horned Serpent. What else would a mad science shadow empress space witch possbly be? Might be Lunar but don’t really have a good read there

Lotor

Some kind of NF, ENFJ if I had to guess. Not his father indeed, though still quite ExxJ. He has the charme, he has a planning, analytic quality underneath, but while he had ambition the more fundamental motivation seems to be to enarn recognition to prove himself.

sx/soc 7, glorious, extra with lots of plumage, certainly very self-interested when it comes down but you could totally picture him just chilling with his henchladies & preferring a ‘personal’ environment/inner circle though he can totally work crowds like clay. 

Self-Confident with a tinge of Exuberant perhaps. 

Slytherin Thunderbird. 

Perhaps what an antagonistic Solar Type looks like. He’s got charme, he’s got loftiness and big goals he works hard to accomplish and little hesitation to put his own person out on the field  but he’s sorta the very opposite of naive, very much a planner and going all road runner on poor Keith. Come to think of it,one could make a good case for him as a Solar-Saturn. 

As for the Generals/henchladies we’ve only seen bits & pieces of them so far all we can really tell is that Narti and Acxa are introverts while Zethrid and Ezor are extroverts, but Imma risk a guess based on rough vibes/ intuition:

Hi there! I don’t know if this went the way that you wanted, because I also included Hunk, Pidge and Lance because they are Keith’s BFFs forever. I’m sorry this was a bit late, and tumblr did eat your first ask!! Ugh. But I do hope you still enjoy this, because it was super fun to write.               “Keith,what do you want for lunch?”

              “…”

              “Keith?Oh come on now, you can’t ignore me forever.”

              “Seriously,the silent treatment?”

              Shirosighed heavily and eventually turned around so that he could take a look at hisson, who would no doubt be pouting. Sure enough, Keith was pouting with hisarms folded over his chest and bottom lip jutting out. It was quite adorablereally, on the twelve-year-old. Though, the situation was very serious andShiro knew better than to laugh at Keith. Keith was fragile in moments likethis and laughter would only make matters worse.

              Still,Keith was adorable.

              “Come onnow Keith, they aren’t even that bad.” Shiro tried to comfort Keith who couldonly glare at Shiro. He pressed his lips together in attempts to close hismouth even more than possible. Shiro sighed.

              “Youlook good in them; better than the kids in all those teeny-bobby movies.” Shirotried again as he continued to absently pack Keith’s lunch. Keith’s glaresharped and Shiro could almost feel the tension slice through him. He wasslightly impressed by Keith’s looks – apparently, he was improving every day.He still needed some work in making them look more intimidating, but he wassurely improving.

              “Come onKeith. Braces aren’t that bad.” Shiro said and Keith scowled in his seat.

              “Thenwhy don’t you get them?” Keith finally grumbled and Shiro almost cheered invictory. Point one for Dad Shiro. He saw a sliver of the red braces on Keith’steeth, before the pre-teen tried to hide them again.

              “That’sbecause your grandmother had perfect teeth and so did I.” Shiro said andflashed Keith his million dollar smile that made all the boys and girls swoon.Keith sank lower in his seat, pouting again and mumbled to himself.

              “Grandpacursed me.”

              “Unfortunately.”Shiro nodded in agreement while Keith actually tried to hiss at him.               “Theywill not. Friends don’t laugh.” Shiro murmured quietly while locking the frontdoor. “Your friends will be very supportive, trust me. Lots of kids get bracesthese days anyway, so it’s not like you’re going to stand out.” Shiro pointedout, causing Keith to sigh dramatically.

              Kids didin fact notice Keith’s braces.

              Prettymuch every kid in the school.

              Afterall, it wasn’t every day that the “weird” kid who talked to himself sometimesand chewed on everything, came to school in braces.Bright red braces. Plus, Lance totally made fun of him, the second he caught ofglimpse of those shiny red braces on little Keith’s teeth. Which of course,made Hunk laugh at Lance’s stupid jokes and Pidge laughed because why wouldn’tthey? Hunk tried to apologize when Keith walked away but he couldn’t stopgiggling.

              Unfortunately,thanks to Lance’s big mouth, everyonehad heard about Keith’s braces. Which meant more amo for picking on Keith.Keith was no stranger to bullying at school. He knew a lot of other kids didn’tunderstand why he did the things he did or was the way he was. Keith always feltblessed that despite growing up, Lance, Hunk and Pidge never once treated himany different despite being autistic. Normally, Keith didn’t care but it washard to ignore when kids were laughing at him behind his back and tappingpictures of buck-tooth horses to his locker.

              Keithsighed when another kid asked if Keith’s mouth was bleeding – oh wait, thoseare just your bright red nerd braces.He sat hunched in the back of the cafeteria, hoping that he could simply ignoreeveryone and that he could eat his lunch in peace.

              Lance, Hunkand Pidge hadn’t been able to spot Keith from where he was hiding in thecafeteria. Slowly, Keith unzipped his lunchbox and hoped for a good time. Thatis until he opened up his lunchbox all the way.

              Was this a joke? Was dad tryingto make a joke?

              Keithstared in dismay at his packed lunch, staring at a hard apple, a bag of crunchy chips, some pretzels and a sandwich ontoasted bread. The pain in Keith’s mouth from his braces intensified while hisstomach grumbled pathetically. Can I eventry to eat this? Keith stared mournfully at his lunch before opening hiswater. At least I won’t be thirsty.

              Hewinced at he tried to bit into the sandwich before spitting it out when a sorespot on his teeth became too much. The same result happened when he tried toeat a few meager chips and pretzels. Keith didn’t even bother with the applebefore throwing away his lunch. He ignored the laughter that followed after himbefore scurrying out of the cafeteria, willing back the tears in his eyes.

Shirocould barely speak before Keith had tapped both sides of his heads and nearlyscreamed in frustration. “It’s bad enough that I have to wear these stupid things for a year, but you couldn’teven think about how much it hurts when you packed my lunch?! Are you freakin’kidding me?!” Keith tapped his head again and Shiro put the car in drive,catching on to Keith’s signal.

              “I mean,did you seriously have to pack an apple?! And pretzels? You know how much mymouth hurts!” Keith fumed and Shiro felt his eyes widened. A sickly feeling ofguilt clawed at his stomach and his grip on the steering wheel tightened.

              “Oh, mygod, Keith I forgot. I’m so sorry.” Shiro groaned and almost banged hisforehead onto his steering wheel. He couldn’t believe that he had actuallyforgotten to think about how much Keith’s mouth hurt – would hurt for the nextfew days, when he had packed Keith’s lunch this morning. He’d just packed whathe would have normally packed, without thinking, and Shiro felt awful.

              “I know!I can’t forget these.” Keith hissed, pointing to the braces along his teeth. “I have to wear them every day. I can’t just forget aboutthem like that!” Keith crossed his arms over his chest furiously and glared outthe window. Shiro swallowed heavily and sighed, feeling far guiltier that heprobably should have. But it was hard for Keith to adjust to sudden and noticeablechanges such as having to get braces, and Shiro hadn’t made it any easier forhim.

              “You’reright. You can’t just forget about them or pretend they don’t exist.” Shirosighed when the car came to a stop at a red light. “Keith, I’m so sorry. It’sno excuse, but I’m so sorry that I packed you a lunch that you couldn’t eveneat. It was rude of me to not consider how much pain you must be in.”

              Keithfelt his stomach churn with guilt at his dad’s apology. He’d been so angryafter the atrocious day he’d had a work. At first, Keith wanted nothing morethan for his father to apologize for his actions to make Keith feel better, butKeith realized that his dad hadn’t really done anything wrong. Sure, he’dforgotten to pack a soft lunch, but his dad didn’t make him get braces out ofspite and to humiliate Keith. Keith’s dad never did anything to hurt Keith,ever.

              “It’sokay. School just sucks.” Keith finally sighed, rubbing his hands along hispants. Shiro glanced over at Keith for a second before returning to the road. “Kidsthink my braces are a joke. I’m just in a stupid mood.”

              “Arekids making fun of you?” Shiro demanded, and his tone was entirely protectiveand serious now. Keith snickered at the image of his dad marching to theschool. “Do I need to go to your school?” Suddenly, Keith felt guilty. His dadhad fought many of the schools in Keith’s past for their treatment of Keith’sdiagnosis and each time was a hardship on his dad and him. Keith didn’t want hisdad to be under any more stress than necessary.

              “Um,some kids are just making jokes. Like Lance. You know me, I get real hotheadedand annoyed.” Keith rubbed at his jeans nervously and bit his lip. Since he waswatching the road, Shiro didn’t notice Keith’s posture and nodded beforerelaxing.

              “Well,hopefully they’ll stop after today. Jokes get boring after a while.” Shirosmiled and Keith forced himself to smile despite the sick feeling in hisstomach.

              “Yeah.Knowing Lance, he’ll probably be joking about some made-up girl he saved thisweek.”

              Keithcouldn’t fight the smile even if he wanted to when he opened up his lunch thenext day. Instead of the awful lunch yesterday, today’s lunch had two cups ofKeith’s favorite Jell-o, two cups ofchocolate pudding. Some watermelon and a cup of his dad’s homemade soup. Lancecaught sight of the grin on Keith’s face and peeked over into his lunch boxbefore his jaw dropped.

              “That’sadorable, but your dad packed a seriously awesome lunch!” Lance exclaimed andPidge and Hunk both looked in to investigate.

              “Whoa.Can I trade you a pudding cup?” Hunk asked and Pidge nodded eagerly beforescavenging their own lunch to look for something to trade.

              “Nuh-uh.”Keith stuck his tongue out, red braces poking out. “This is my lunch because mymouth hurts.”

              “Dude,maybe I need to get someone to punch me in the mouth so my mama can pack me agoodie pack.” Lance grumbled bitterly and bit into what was supposed to bepizza, but really it could be anything. After all, the cafeteria served sketchystuff sometimes. Hunk and Pidge grumbled playfully but backed off, allowingKeith to eat his lunch in peace.

              However,just as Keith was about to dive into his second pudding cup, his jaw explodedwith pain when he felt something hard and rubberslam into his face. Instantly, Keith dropped his food and grabbed his jaw. Hisnerves were tingling with pain, since his mouth was still sore from the braces.Keith felt tears due to pain begin to burn in his eyes, just as several kidsstarted laughing. Keith barely noticed when Hunk, Pidge and Lance shot out oftheir seats.

              “Hey!Why did you just do that?!” Pidge snarled, hands clenched at their sides infists as the three of them stared down the group of guys who had shot a rubberband at their friend.

              “Wantedto see how much it would hurt.” One kid laughed causing his whole table to joinhim.

              “Well,let’s see how much this will hurt!” Lance threatened darkly and rolled up hissleeves. However, Hunk snatched his fist at the last second and pulled it back,while simultaneously checking to see if Keith was okay. “I’ll knock two centsinto your stupid, tiny brain, you assholes.”

              “Lance!”Hunk whispered hotly and Pidge beamed.

              “Whatever.Don’t know why you defend that loser.” The other kid snorted and his goonieslaughed again.

              “Hey!That’s our friend you’re talking about!” Pidge hissed. “Our best friend, whose face is much moreappealing than yours will ever be withoutbraces.” The kid frowned at Pidge and his goonies all “ooooohed.”

              “Lemmeat him, Hunk.” Lance growled darkly but Hunk easily held him back as he lookedat Keith’s cheek.

              “Are youokay?” Hunk asked when Keith wiped his eyes before anyone could see. Just asKeith was about to speak, he flinched back when another rubber band hit his mouth. Hunk recoiled sharply and let goof Lance, who stormed towards the table of laughing kids with Pidge hot on histail. A dark look settled over Hunk and he turned his full attention to thelaughing kids. There was a look in his eyes, almost like that of a soldier, whowas on his way to war and it made the lunch room’s atmosphere feel like ice.

              “Youjerk.” Hunk said calmly before making his way towards the kid who had shot therubber bands at Keith. By now, the entire lunch room was deadly silent. Hunkhad never intervened before.

              Lanceand Pidge each held back a kid as Hunk made his way towards his target. By now,the kid was beginning to sweat and he scrambled to try and get out of his seat.However, Hunk easily caught him by the collar of his shirt before lifting himup into the air, so that his feet didn’t touch the ground. Hunk’s eyes narrowedand he brought the bully’s face right up to his own.

              “Youthink you can hurt Keith and get away with it?” He said, still in the calmvoice he always had. “Well, think again. Nobody hurts our friend.” With that,Hunk grabbed the kid’s shirt with two hands before dunking the kid into a nearby trashcan. Only when the kid was fullysubmerged in the trash and staring at Hunk with wide eyes did Hunk back awayand grab a hold of Keith’s hand. He led the other boy out of the cafeteria withthe rest of his lunch in hand.

              “Iexpect a new chocolate pudding for Keith tomorrow.” Hunk said over his shoulderand exited the lunchroom. Lance and Pidge followed, each pointing to their eyesand back at the bullies with two fingers and then back at their eyes, beforethey too left the lunchroom.

              No onenoticed the small smile on Keith’s lips.

              Shirohad been livid when he heard about what had happened. You can bet on it that hehad stormed into the school, furious and raging about the safety of childrenand zero tolerance for bullying. Needless to say, the next day Keith had several cups of pudding by his locker,his bully was suspended and his mouthdidn’t hurt as much anymore.

              Unfortunately,Hunk had gotten detention for throwing a kid in the trash can but Shiro hadslid the boy a ten for his work and thanked Hunk for what he did for Keith.Hunk’s smile was enough of thanks for Shiro.

              Keithsmiled, braces and all and thought: Maybethis won’t be too awful.

I read this short analysis of K and L's development (about their overall interactions) and there was a part that confused me, partly because I don't remember seeing it, but in "Blade of Marmora" (one of my top fav eps from S2 btw) Lance showed concern for Keith?? I remember him complaining that Shiro picked Keith and that he called him hotheaded, but I don't recall him saying he was concerned for him or anything. Do you remember anything? Or was that person just reaching?

I think know the scene they were referring to.

When the Red Lion starts attacking the base, Hunk says “Why would the Red lion attack? Unless…” and trails off, then it cuts to Lance saying “Allura?” in a concerned voice kinda like a “What’s going on? What are we going to do?” (around 20 minutes in)

You can either interpret this as “Lance was showing concern for the safety of his teammates” or “Lance was worried about Keith”.

so like...i was going to watch the second season of voltron again, after binge watching it completely the first day it came out, and i remembered the end scene with shiro. SPOILER, btw. 

So, Shiro has disappeared. Where? No one has a clue. Could he possibly be stuck in that astral realm with Zarkon, battling it out over who should be the Black Paladin? It’s possible. 

But, now we have to focus on the others that are still in the castle. Keith’s probably freaking out because he lost his friend, someone he’s apparently known longer than the others and completely trusts with his whole being over anyone else, and he knows that the friend had announced before he left, “Keith, if I don’t make it out of here, I want you to lead Voltron.” Like, he doesn’t know how? he’s so scared, tbh. And everyone is curious as to why Shiro picked Keith, out of everyone? allura is also afraid, even though she knows why. Keith’s a hothead, and very impulsive. If he’d gotten more training, he’d be a great leader, but at the moment, he’s just not ready. 

In the episode “Escape from Beta Traz”, we see Lance’s insecurity over how he’s “the seventh wheel, if you count Coran and Allura”. He may be the sharpshooter, but he obviously doesn’t have a lot of confidence when it comes to being with the others. They actually have a place in the team. And he’s...what? Just a sharpshooter? He doesn’t understand they need him as much as he needs them. But, because of this, when Shiro disappears, Lance thinks its all his fault. He should have been the one to disappear. Shiro was their leader, and he was strong and made sure they stayed strong together. He was their glue, the reason they were able to work together so efficiently. Lance didn’t have that--he didn’t have any underlying good qualities that could help lead the team, even though he’d never express that aloud. And he’s scared too. Terrified. He wishes it would have been him instead of Shiro.

Hunk is trying to put everyone together again, because he feels like it’s all falling apart. Even Pidge has completely gone silent, thinking about her family and the ways she can free her brother and find her father, because Shiro said they would. But now what? How could they possibly break through this to continue on to find them? And they’d just...well, technically ended Zarkon, but now the rest of the Galra are around, and she’s sure someone will want revenge. Could that also effect her way of finding her family? Hunk tries to comfort her, along with everyone else.

Allura is stressed, and also grieving along with everyone else. Shiro is gone, and now she has to deal with these teenage paladins by herself. What is she going to do? She’ll have to be the leader...but she doesn’t want to break Shiro’s wish in making sure Keith led Voltron if he...if he didn’t make it back. So she tries to follow through with Shiro’s wish, but she’s stressed, and concerned, and she doesn’t know what to do. She wished her father was around to help her. And now, she has to worry about Haggar, because the witch is part Altean and how is that even possible? 

Prince Lotor is now in the picture, and he’ll either be completely evil and want revenge for his father, or they’ll make him comedic and he’ll be a whiny brat. Either way, I can’t wait to see how this plays out, tbh. I noticed so many people putting Lance together with Prince Lotor, and as that’s a scary prospect, it could fit the plot too. 

I just want to see an epic battle between Prince Lotor and Keith, like seriously. Also, in the original Voltron, Keith and Princess Allura were kind of an “item”. To be honest, I hope that doesn’t happen in this. I noticed they had some scenes in the new season, but by seeing Keith’s face the whole time, he just wasn’t...into it. Not the romantic, lovey dovey googly eyes. Which is great, so. I just don’t see them together? I honestly see Allura being independent. She’s amazing, even on her own. 

i also happen to ship klance and shallura but that’s not affecting this post i swear

Anyway, this is just a collection of headcanons I had of what I see in the new season 3. Or, what I think should be addressed. don’t mind my ramblings.

overall, it was so good!!!! i missed these kids so hecking much!!!

things i didn’t like

platonically there were some great moments!!! but like : |||

yeah uh what the fuck happened to allura’s character as a whole tho. like remember that post that was like ‘’hunk’s the mom and allura is the angry soldier aunt’’ kinda thing? why were there so many scenes of her being forced into these heteronormative bullshit caregiver type roles??? i just didnt like. 

okay again tho like she and keith are so much alike!!! both rash and hotheaded and would do anything to protect the ones they love and have this idea of ‘the greater good’ they’re working for and keith got so much development and was fleshed out SO WELL and allura got stuck left behind five billion times

also hunk got done so dirty y’all

like every time i thought we might get something real about him there was the obligatory food mention 

not that the chef part of him (or even his love for food!) is a bad thing!! but why is it ALWAYS so hyperfocused on??

AND THE TREETECH SCENE LIKE WHO THE FRALKC THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE HUNK LICK A FUCKING PIECE OF TECH INSTEAD OF GEEKING OUT W PIDGE???? like c’mon he may not have had the same connection as pidge, but he for sure as fuck would’ve been able to understand the general concepts behind everything

and allura’s conflict about galra vs paladins and where keith lands know would’ve been really cool to see

esp in regard to the other characters offering to talk w her about it?? I defs thought that scene with coran before the final battle might have been something like that because he’s obviously seen a time where alfor and the galra were united AND experienced the same loss and anger towards zarkon/galra now that he could’ve really offered a nuanced perspective -- giving us more allura/coran mentorship at the same time! ugh 

and who the actual fcuk made keith’s dad texan??? nd white????? i’m just

the mall scene where lance (LANCE!!) and pidge are literally in an e a r t h store and there’s not one instance of,,, homesickness???

like tbh lance missing his family was one of the only explicitly redeeming characteristics the writers gave us last season and this was a PERFECT set up. i could not stress PERFECT anymore. i just. i’m. sldkfjsldoire. instead he got a cow. 

sidenote where the heck did the cow go?? and was it named after one of the Blade members?????? 

AND A NOTHER THING!! sorry but in regards to lances family! 

what a wasted opportunity to not have lance (who misses his family the MOST) offer a bit of comfort/consolling to keith (who is trying hard to reconcile trusting and lowkey leading this new family of his with the one he never knew but might be evil???) ugh 

tbh this would be a good direction for them to lean into in the coming seasons bc how well does this lend itself to lance coming out as bi and mentioning his heritage y’know?? like having this part of you that you’re not sure how to tell anyone about but you’ve known its there and not being able to put a name to it and taking a long exhausting journey of self discovery and and and !!

lance in general being made to hit on literally every female

like there’s a perfect set up for a pickup line but lance doesn’t take it right away and then clues in and puts on a voice and makes it just like,,, silly!! because it came off as ridiculous anyways and there was no purpose or development there so why not just satirize it and have them share a grin to let everyone know there’s no intent behind it and they’re all in on the joke!! ughjkdfgr

if half of lance’s lines were directed to dudes this season the writers could’ve still emphasized this part of his character as much as i guess they thought they needed to but lance could’ve also progressed as a person a minuscule amount????? i’m tired

UM the hug scene and lance; what the fuck. everybody else gets a significant ‘this might be the last time we’re alive together’ goodbye and lance kisses a mouse. and cries. and does not once hug his best friend.......okay. 

also i get they were on a bit of a time limit but like, the way they kept just...telling us things instead of giving us the scenes??? it bugged me idk. like when allura is saying she thinks they’re all a family of themselves now like the only one to show that was lance??? one he thinks he doesn’t belong in btw. and i guess that scene before the fight when they’re discussing all the stuff they’ve done so far but she wasn’t really there so. idk idk it happened more than once tho that we were just to assume the team got updated/reunited/had a point of connection but we didnt get to actually see it y’know?

okay actually i’m gonna make a separate post for what i did like to keep the positivity and negativity separate. what did you guys think???
