crooked windows
word count: 1.5k || pt2 of sheer curtains
summary: What is there to miss if you're right there with him?
"How rare for us to be able to get a day off like this." Tim rolls down the windows to the car, sighing as you enjoy the light breeze.
"Well, we're in Spain for a reason. Might as well enjoy it." You hand him the water as you glance at the coast. "Don't forget to put sunscreen on. Don't want you burning and peeling skin."
"You're being dramatic." He huffs. "We're going to the beach house for a business meeting. It's not even a day off."
"The rest of the day is." You close your eyes to feel the wind. "We can stay back and just left the chauffeur know."
"I suppose. Did you bring beach clothes or something?"
"Maybe." You grin. "I brought you a change too. We can have dinner at the club."
"I thought you hated those."
"Not when you're dressed like a man in finance. Too bad you're not 6'5."
"Hey." Tim grumbles. "Don't be mean."
"I'm not." You huff. "You'd think all that stretching and gymnastics would go to your height, but nooo. Where did all that shit you were eating even go?"
"The stress of the two of us ignoring our soulmate bond." He grumbles. "I don't miss that awful feeling of the two of us being apart."
"Hey, you started it."
"Yeah, I did." He huffs. "Only cuz you suck, though."
You fake a look of offense, turning the other way as the rest of the ride is in silence.
"I was kidding." Tim mumbles.
"You're the one who refused to stick around. Maybe you're just born to be a serial cheater."
"Hey—"
You roll your eyes, puffing your cheeks as Tim sighs.
"I'm sorry."
"Save it for after the business meeting."
You don't know how many people have accused you of getting the position because you were Tim's soulmate, but to be fair, it's not like you knew which son you were applying to be the secretary of. HR was in charge of all of that. You're pretty sure Tim didn't know it was you until Bruce had caught your name on a list of new recruits and told Tim to set things straight with you before he fucked up again. You're glad at least someone had a voice of reason in this entire conversation.
You still fight though, you know, as normal people do. You wouldn't be childhood friends if the two of you didn't wrestle and tussle a little. It's only comedic when it's in the privacy of your shared vehicle. To the public, Tim has to keep up the appearance of a soulmate who nearly fucked himself over when he decided to ignore your warning. Something something soulmate propaganda something something no flaws in a system full of them, something something—
"We're here." The chauffeur nods. "Shall I come after the meeting?"
"I'll let you know in advance. We'll most likely stay a little while after." You hum. "And if I book the hotel we're meeting at, then you can come grab us tomorrow."
"Noted. Work safe."
"Drive safe." You step out of the car as Tim offers you a hand, and you smile.
You're never beating the publicity allegations.
"There's nothing after the meeting, right?"
"Mhm." You nod. "What's up?"
"Beach day sounds so good. If I remember right, this hotel has a good massage parlor too." Tim sighs. "Wine tonight?"
"Yeah, sure sounds like a night for me to be sipping on wine and not beer at a random parlor."
"Go figure. It is Spain."
"Can I get a beer in Germany next time?"
"Are you going to blow my card again?"
"Yeah." You lick your lips, grinning. "I'm blowing your card."
"That Birkin from me wasn't enough, huh?"
"No. It'd be better to give me mansions next time." You wave at the men at the table as you both step in. "Gentlemen."
"Why if it isn't the Waynes' golden secretary."
"Honored to hold that title." You have everyone settle down and Tim starts on the meeting. You've grown used to it. The men like pushing him because he's almost always younger than them, and if someone was the same age as him, then it was truly a fifty-fifty on whether or not they could hold their ground. Some like sucking up to the older men. Not everyone gets where they are because they deserve it. Most people are born lucky, you know, like Tim. You're not born lucky, but you suppose luck had a large part to play in your life.
You let Tim take care of most of the meeting, your mind wandering off when you know he won't need you anymore, wondering if you'd get to actually relax at the beach. You'd probably end up talking to Tim the whole time and working out your problems again. Healthy communication but unhealthy habits. Maybe the two of you were just born to butt heads at all times. You still wonder if the two of you were really romantic soulmates or if the two of you just could not stay away from a toxic relationship. You know, the classic "but daddy, I love him!" moment for the both of you. God, the two of you need therapy.
"That concludes our meeting." Tim raises a brow at the men. "Any questions?"
The look he gives them indicates that he wants no questions at all.
The men catch on enough, shaking their heads as they file out one by one.
"Please tell me we're staying here for the night."
"Just booked the suite. You wanna suntan?"
"And get burnt?"
"Bottomless brunch is too late, huh?"
"Bottomless brunch tomorrow, please. I have no meetings unless you scheduled one." Tim begs. "God knows I need it."
"Nope. We just have a dinner in the evening."
"Bottomless brunch tomorrow."
"Yeah, yeah." You hum. "Ready to check in? Our luggage will arrive later."
"You really are abusing the privileges of being a rich man now, huh?" Tim clicks his tongue. "Did you bring my trunks?"
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I?"
"I don't know, maybe 'cuz you hate me?"
"Tim, I don't hate you."
"I know." He mumbles. "I wonder if we could go back to how we were before sometimes."
"We're not children anymore." You follow him out, stepping into the lobby to check in, eyes focused on the way you get deja vu from the way he turns around. "Have we done this before?"
"When we were kids, once." He holds his hand out for the bag in your hand, and you comply. "We booked a hotel room overnight once because our parents were both gone. I booked the hotel and told the receptionist that we just needed a room for a night since we were all wet from the rain."
"Right, since taxis in Gotham never mean anything good." You mumble. "Do you miss it?"
"No. You're right here. Why would I?"
Tim's honesty is enough to surprise you, blinking at him like a deer in headlights as he continues walking. You wonder somedays what he got from keeping you around. You argued over everything because of the differences in the ways you've both been raised, and even if he had a visible soft spot for you in the vulnerable mornings spent tangled in each other's limbs, you wondered just why he kept you around.
"Tim."
You stop right where you are, staring at Tim as he raises a brow at you from the elevator.
"What?"
"Do you love me? Or are you doing this out of an obligation of being my soulmate?"
"We've been over this. Neither of us can love properly." He holds the elevator door open with one hand, pulling you in with a roll of his eyes. "I love you to the best that I can, though you deserve someone who can love better. You're my soulmate, and even in a world where you aren't, I'll still find you. There. Better?"
You roll your eyes.
"Timothy Jackson Drake, you suck ass at comforting people."
"Thanks, my parents were barely around."
"Did my mom not raise you better?"
"She raised both of us, and look where that got us."
You punch him, rolling your eyes as he cracks a grin.
"My mom has nothing to do with your shitty attachment issues. I came out just fine."
"We'll get through it." Tim hums. "Together."
"Awfully bold words coming from a guy who's been dating me for years and known me for even more yet refuses to pop a ring."
"A ring won't fix our arguing."
"This is arguing?"
Truly, it's not, which is exactly why the weight of the ring in Tim's back pocket feels so much heavier than it actually is.
Not that he'd tell you.
He'd just show you.

Hi! So I had thoughts about Castor🤭
I don’t know why…but here’s my thoughts. So reader is a member of the band opening for Metallica on (whatever tour) and is really close to James. Not in a weird way or anything, but James and reader get along really well. Castor’s always had a thing for the reader and James knew that so he decided to introduce Catsor to reader and they hit it off really well.
A/n: I don’t write enough Castor for an account that was made to make more Castor
Warnings: none just fluff
Metallica was going on tour and James had found the perfect opening band.
He’d heard Castor listening to them and figured since he was taking him on tour why not bring a band he knew his son liked?
While planning everything you went to James for help since your band didn’t have an official manager or someone to deal with booking and finances. You were raw dogging it and it was astonishingly hard so after spending a week pumping yourself up you finally brought yourself to contact James.
The day before you went out he invited you and your band over so you could all catch the flight together, he knew you’d been worried about someone getting left behind and this definitely helped calm your nerves about the whole ordeal.
You and your band were nothing less than ecstatic about this trip. Sure, you’d been on tours but small ones where you never left your country, now, suddenly, you were performing for thousands of people almost every night in places you’d never even dreamt of visiting, it was all a fever dream but it was really happening.
James had never told you how he’d found your band, you never cared all too much because you were worrying about flights, hotel rooms, everything like that.
You were on an overnight flight from Vancouver, Canada to Frankfurt, Germany. It was almost a ten hour flight and you were ready to, hopefully, sleep most of the way.
Of course, right as you sit down there’s not an ounce of melatonin your brain tried to produce and you were just stuck there. James was beside you, he purposefully booked your seat near each other but there were few flights where you were right next to each other. It was just another way for him to help you with your worries, also because the both of you had created a bond while planning and were genuinely having fun together.
Occasionally on the flight Castor would come by to ask his dad something or just to talk, his gaze always flickering to you. You played it off as nothing but it brought some questions to mind.
“James,” you started once Castor left, “how’d you find our band?” A bright smile came to his face, he wasn’t just expecting this question he was hoping you’d ask about it.
“I heard Castor listening to you guys.” He said simply enough. You gave a small nod. “He really likes you guys, you know? Always talking about your music, outfits, he really likes your outfits.” You could feel your cheeks heating up at that.
Your band wasn’t all glam but you definitely took inspiration from the whole thing, you often wore some sort of leather bottoms, usually pants or a tight skirt that hugged your curves. Your shirt normally consisted of a band shirt, however being on stage had you sweating so you’d eventually have to take it off and reveal whatever you had on underneath.
“I never would’ve guessed he liked us.” You mumbled, trying to hide your sudden shyness. “He’s always quiet and tries to stay away from us.” You heard James chuckled, he knew what he was doing. Dickhead.
Your next show was in London, one of the bigger shows. You were backstage and completely exhausted. It was a flight to bus to hotel to bus to flight to flight to stage and you’d barely slept in the last twenty-something hours.
There was a small room backstage with food and drinks and such. You were stuffing your face full or whatever to keep you going.
You made the mistake of sitting down, someone was beside you but you couldn’t care less who it was. Your eyes closed and you were out.
“Hey,” you heard a voice in your ear, “you’re on in, like, ten minutes.” Slowly, you blinked your eyes open and scanned around, trying to figure out where you were.
You were still in the food room, still on the couch. After you fell asleep you must’ve leaned against the person next to you. You looked over and saw you were fully cuddled up to Castor, a small wet spot on his sleeve from drool. You quickly wiped your mouth and moved away from him. “Sorry, I’m just really, really tired, I didn’t mean to.” You blurted, the words slurring together in your still sleep state.
Castor just stared at you until you stopped talking. “You can sleep on me.” He said. Your head was in your hands and you were rubbing your eyes.
You peaked up at him. “Yeah?” He nodded and you sat up again, resting your head on his shoulder.
“I mean, you still have a show to do.” You groaned loudly and he laughed as you got up and stumbled away.
On the bus ride after the show to the hotel you could barely keep your eyes open. Honestly you were pretty sure you blacked out on stage at a few points.
Castor came over to you and hesitantly sat down beside you. “Tired?” He asked. You nodded as you moved to cuddle up to him again. He wrapped an arm around you and pulled you closer.
You woke up a few times but didn’t stay awake for long. You saw James' long ass legs standing in front of you on the bus, you saw the entrance of the hotel while you were being carried to your room.
The next morning you woke up with your head on Castor’s chest, his arms wrapped loosely around you.
You whined softly and rubbed your eyes. “What time is it..?” Castor brushed some hair out of your face.
“Ten.” He responded, his voice raspy from sleep. It was light outside so you assumed he meant in the morning, meaning you didn’t have to move for a few hours yet. So, you closed your eyes and nuzzled into him, quickly falling back asleep.
You didn’t realize the mistake you’d made until later that evening at another show.
You had to wear these passes so people knew you were in a band and were supposed to be backstage. These passes always had a picture of you so if anyone ever tried to steal it they wouldn’t get very far.
Your bandmate handed you your new pass since you’d been told it was left in another hotel, but you had it the night before and usually kept it in the same spot on the bus. You took the pass and saw the picture of you barely awake and cuddling with a fully asleep Castor.
“Like your new pass?” James gleamed as he came up to you before the show. Castor came by presenting a nearly matching photo of the both of you curled up in bed together.

Serbia’s Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesic, has signed a contract with Affinity Global Development’s director Asher Abehsera on revitalizing the former Army General Headquarters in Belgrade, demolished by the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.
Affinity Partners is Jared Kushner, former US president Donald Trump’s son-in-law’s, investment firm. It has $2 billion in funding from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, among other foreign investors, media have reported.
“We are very excited,” the New York Times reported Kushner as saying in an interview in March about planned projects in Belgrade and Albania. “We have not finalized these deals, so they might not happen, but we have been working hard and are pretty close.”
The former military HQ is in the Belgrade city centre, right across from the gvernment building.
According to the ministry press release, Vesic said the government had leased the premises for 99 years but did not specify at what price.
“The investor has assumed the obligation that, if he does not complete the investment within the period specified in the contract, he will return the land and what will be built until then to the Republic of Serbia without compensation,” Vesic said after signing the deal on Wednesday*.
The press release said the investor will also be obliged to build a memorial complex “dedicated to all the victims of NATO aggression” from 1999 on the plot.
“The memorial complex will be financed by investors and will be owned by the Republic of Serbia, which will decide on the program content of the complex and will manage it,” Vesic said.
The design of the memorial complex will be determined at an international architectural competition.
Abehsera said the project includes a unique aspect of cooperation in which Serbian architects and designers will be invited to submit their ideas for the Memorial Centre.
Kushner previously confirmed plans on X (former Twitter) to invest in this complex as well as in two locations on the Albanian coast. The samer New York Times report in March said that Kushner been working on the Balkan deals with Richard Grenell, who served briefly as acting director of national intelligence under Trump and also ambassador to Germany and special envoy to the Balkans.
According to the NYT, the investment in Belgrade will be a luxury hotel and 1,500 residential units and a museum. It also reported that Trump himself had showed interest in working with this complex in 2013, but Kushner claimed he did not know about this.
The former Yugoslav army HQ was severely damaged in two 1999 NATO air attacks, beween April 29 and 30 and between May 7 and 8. Part of the premises were demolished between 2014 and 2017 for security reasons.
Information that a US company will take over the demolished HQ was first revealed by the Serbian opposition in March, drawing criticism because of suspicions of corruption but also because of the damaged HQ’s architectural and cultural value. It was claimed that the land on which the HQ lies was being leased free of charge.
The building was constructed in 1965 and designed by the famous Serbian architect Nikola Dobrovic.

munashiro honeymoon
I imagine they go somewhere fancy like a beach resort or a ski cabin in the mountains, something where they can go out and have fun new experiences afterward. Munakata initially had concerns about leaving S4 for such a long time and probably considers a more low-key honeymoon like at a nearby hot spring. Shiro knows Munakata needs a break though and thinks that even a honeymoon should be more fun than anything right, so he decides to try and book something that would be enjoyable. They could even go overseas, Munakata speaks multiple languages so that isn’t a problem and Shiro doesn’t mind getting to see even more of the world. Oh, maybe they even go for like a whole around the world trip (financed by S4’s unlimited credit card of course, because this is an important restful trip for S4’s leader), visiting Germany so Shiro can see his old home and then going to a couple other countries that neither one has visited before and doing weird tourist things. And of course in between all their weird tourist experiences they can spend time in nice hotels just enjoying each other’s company, relaxing in a hot tub with drinks or just lying together in their own room watching fireworks out the window.
#Munashiro#Talking K#I bet they go somewhere nice#Munakata wants to plan it but maybe Shiro decides to take the lead on this one#(since Munakata probably did most of the wedding planning)#and Shiro is all excited to surprise him with fun experiences

Aperçu of the Week:
"Let he who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her."
(Jesus Christ according to John, chapter 8)
Bad News of the Week:
A remarkable shift to the right is currently taking place in Israel, of all places. And not in dim backyards, but in the political spotlight. The day before yesterday, the Knesset gave its blessing to Benjamin Netanyahu's government. An immortal reincarnation of political Israel, he became prime minister for the first time back in 1996 and is the subject of various criminal proceedings, including those for corruption and taking advantage of office.
Now, out of pure will to survive, he has formed a governing coalition that is so ultra-right that even Israeli President Yitzchak Herzog warns against its "extremism." And the opposition is sounding the alarm in view of the present coalition agreements: The new government is illiberal, homophobic and is undermining Israeli democracy with the planned judicial reform. Unfortunately, these accusations must be taken seriously.
Take religious fanaticism, for example: Government member Orit Strock of the right-wing "Religious Zionist Party" has declared that hotels should be allowed to refuse services to people on religious grounds. And even worse, doctors to treat patients if this is against their religious beliefs. This is supposed to be the most democratic state in the Middle East?
Speaking of states. Or rather, the two-state solution, for every normal-thinking person the only way to make peace possible between Israelis and Palestinians in the long term. That can now be safely stored, because gasoline is being poured on the fire with two personalities who both advocate the expansion of Israeli territory into the occupied West Bank. Itamar Ben-Gvir of the ultranationalist "Jewish Strenght" party, who has already been convicted of anti-Arab terrorism, will become security minister with responsibilities for the police. And Bezalel Smotrich, leader of the "Religious Zionist Party" and known, among other things, for his position "I am a proud homophobe." will be finance minister with control over "planning in the West Bank." He knows his stuff, after all his family lives outside the Kedumim settlement in the West Bank - in a house that was illegally built outside of state land and in breach of the settlement's master plan.
I find this more than just creepy. Do I, of all people, as a German, have to reproach a government of the State of Israel for denying human rights to a part of the population through extremism and discrimination? Yes, unfortunately I must.
Good News of the Week:
After a long run-up, the so-called Supply Chain Act is finally becoming mandatory in Germany. Initially applicable to large companies (with more than 3,000 employees, from 2024 it will apply to companies with more than 1,000), it is intended to significantly reduce abuses in foreign purchasing. The "Act on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains" obliges companies that procure intermediate goods or finished products abroad to take responsibility for production processes and working conditions at their suppliers, to trace abuses and to avoid or remedy them from the outset or as soon as they become aware of them.
This will be felt above all by the textile industry, which traditionally has its production carried out in low-wage countries with hardly any environmental requirements. And then washes its hands of this because the administrative staff in Germany is paid according to the collective wage agreement and there is a photovoltaic system on the warehouse. The law obliges every importer - including foreign companies that have a subsidiary or branch office in Germany - to ensure that defined standards are met throughout their supply chain. In future, anyone who tolerates child labor or environmental damage at their suppliers, for example, or simply looks the other way, will be asked to pay a hefty fine: Fines in the millions are envisaged. That's a good thing.
Personal happy moment of the week:
The day before yesterday was our first wedding anniversary. According to a widespread prejudice, only husbands forget this day. Not so with us. My wife had wondered before why I asked what we were going to do on this day. And although very happy about the flowers that were on the table in the morning, but still did not understand. Then around three o'clock in the afternoon the penny dropped. And I got it in writing, as she was just out for a walk: she says "Yes!" to us once again.
I couldn't care less...
...that Deutsche Post is discontinuing its "Telegram" service today. Why? Due to lack of demand, of course, because of the Internet. This means that some 170 years after the American E. P. Smith established the telegram in 1852, a form of communication long considered the fastest in the world is disappearing. The most recent price was at least 12.57 euros - for 160 characters. In the age of free messaging services, that no doubt explains the slump in demand. I even still have a telegram in one of my memory boxes in the basement: one of my French Canadian sisters had sent it to me from Italy in 1989 to coordinate my trip to see her - which I hitchhiked. Also such a dinosaur, which hardly exists anymore.
As I write this...
...2022 comes to an end. You can classify this year however you like - the adjective "normal" is certainly not one of them. And what people like to call "the new normal" (hot and cold wars, lack of action against climate change, threatened democracies, permanently higher energy and food prices, insecure human rights, etc.) is not something I feel like at all. In this respect, I find it hard to wish for more normality in the new year. Even if it is actually what I would like to have.
Post Scriptum
Serbia and Kosovo. The region in the Balkans, which even after the official end of the Yugoslav wars in 2001 is still not at peace. NATO peacekeepers are still stationed there today. The reason is still the same as it was from the beginning: minorities feel oppressed. In this case, in a double sense: Kosovo considers itself Albanian, its minority oppressed by Serbia, and has repeatedly declared its independence - now recognized by 115 of 193 UN members. But Serbia sees Kosovo as a breakaway province where a Serbian minority in the north is oppressed. The conflict flares up again and again; during the Christmas season, there were roadblocks in the Mitrovica area in response to Serb arrests by Albanian security forces.
Both countries see their future in the European Union. Serbia has been formally recognized as a candidate country since 2012, while Kosovo submitted its application only this December. And both can only move forward in this process together. In order to be admitted to the EU, the "Copenhagen criteria" must be met. These explicitly include respect for and protection of minorities. This is precisely the shortcoming that Serbia and Kosovo are accusing each other of. The European Union sees itself as a democratic entity that seeks to achieve peace and prosperity on the continent through cooperation and collaboration. Recognizing this would be a win-win for all parties.

2005. Don’t fall in love with Angelina Jolie. Brad remembered Mike’s premonition regarding Angelina. She would abuse him. He maintained a friendship with her but he made it clear that he was in a relationship with the mother of his daughter and was not interested in engaging in an affair. She pretended to understand, though she still acted sexually toward him when they were alone. He asked her to stop but she didn’t.
She tried to kiss him but he pushed her away. He thought about hiring a bodyguard to protect him from being sexually harassed. Anna encouraged him to do it, especially since she was not afraid to touch him. Sexual harassment was the same. It didn’t matter that he was a guy. After interviewing a former marine, he hired him to protect him.
Barry also maintained a level of loyalty and confidentiality with his clients. His contract prevented him from talking to the media. He thanked him for that, as he and his girlfriend were private people. Having Barry made things a lot easier, as Angelina could not get anywhere near him unless they were shooting together.
She had a screaming tantrum after entering his hotel room. How dare he not want to be with her! It was at that moment, he realized that Mike’s premonition had been right. She would become abusive towards him. Barry got her to leave while he locked himself in the bathroom with his phone. He was about to call the police, but instead, he texted Mike.
Mike, everything you said about Angelina is one hundred percent true! Thank you for warning me! I’ll explain later. – Brad
And he did. After the filming was over, he met with him at the studio and told him everything that happened. He didn’t know that she would sexually harass him, though he knew from his time loop experiences, she was very sexual. Thank you for telling me about her. He was welcome and he apologized for him having to go through that. The band was shocked that his premonition had come true. They heard everything Brad had said.
What did he see? He saw Angelina physically and mentally abusing him, while also threatening to kill herself if he ever left her. As a result of the abuse, he also saw himself becoming an alcoholic. He also saw her manipulating him into having sex. Brad was saved from that because he remembered his warning. He was going to go home and focus on his kids and Anna.
He thanked him again before he left. You’re welcome. That was two years ago. Brad had nothing to do with Angelina after he was done promoting their movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Currently, he was in London because he had been invited to present at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park. He invited Elliot to join him, but he was told that she would be in Philadelphia with her boyfriend, Rob, and Linkin Park. She apologized but he told her to have fun!
She did ask him to say hello to Elton John for her. He promised to do that.
The event was going to be broadcast live all over the world with events taking place in London, Paris, France; Berlin, Germany; Rome, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Barrie, Ontario, Canada; Chiba, Tokyo, Japan; Johannesburg, South Africa; Moscow, Russia; Cornwall, England; and Edinburgh, Scotland with different performances and presenters. It was going to be extremely fun and they were all very excited to go!
At eighteen years old and two years of dating, Elliot and Rob were talking about moving in together with her animals. They were going to look through their finances when they got back to LA to see what they could afford. On her eighteenth birthday, she received the money she had made as a child actress of five hundred thousand dollars. It wasn’t a lot but it would help them buy a house.
Neither of them wanted anything big, just something with a backyard for Bruce to run around in. Even though he wasn’t initially a cat guy, Mama and her babies had grown on him. It took a month for them to get used to the humans. Mama gradually learned that she and her babies were finally safe. She started acting more affectionately towards the humans. At two and three years old, they were no longer kittens but junior cats.
They all had the energy to spare, though they did like to have their quiet time. All three of them loved Rob! He was a very tall human! Simba and Nala loved crawling up his legs whenever he was standing still. He always bent down and picked them up. Hello. Meow. Meow. They also crawled over each other and Bruce, who allowed it.
Bon Jovi. Joe noticed that they had lost track of Elliot, so he asked Chester where she was. He had no clue, so they asked Phoenix. He didn’t know, either. Eventually, they came to find out she had heard that Bon Jovi was there, so she was going to try to track them down. Rob thought it was amusing how his girlfriend had chosen them over him. He would have to ask her about it later. Just as they were walking into their dressing room, she came running in.
“Oh my god!”
“What? Did you meet them”, Rob asked.
“No. I saw them and I was going to walk up to them but they were too far away. I didn’t want to make an idiot of myself, so I ran back.”
“A very cute idiot”, Rob joked.
“Thanks. I don’t know whether I should kiss you or kick your ass!”
Mike burst into laughter. She and Rob put their arms around each other. After several weekly sessions with his therapist, he started working through why he had woken up. They talked about time loops and what they were. He had a mission to save Chester but he had to work on himself, too. His mission couldn’t be accomplished without proper mental health. He finally understood that.
The band apologized for how they treated him the first day they came back together. They should have acknowledged what he was going through, instead of making him feel alone. He thanked them for their apology. It meant a lot to him. With that, they went back to treating him like a brother. His relationship with Chester had also changed. They were both committed to helping each other because they wanted to be in love. And they were. They were as in love as Rob and Elliot.
Finally, she ran into Richie Sambora backstage. After learning she was eighteen years old, he invited her to meet the band. At forty-six years old, he was kind of hoping for a hookup because he thought she was beautiful. He introduced her to Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Tico Torres, and Hugh MacDonald. What was her name? Elliot Pitt. Pitt? As in Brad Pitt? Yes, he was her father.
For over an hour, they got to talk to her. They found out she had three cats: Mama Blu, Simba, and Nala, along with a dog, Bruce Springsteen. Her cats were rescued. Did they get along well with her dog? Oh, yeah. He thought of them as his puppies and he let them crawl over him. That’s adorable. They laughed.

What’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for someone?
oh, that's hard to say. My best friend once spent a year abroad. Far away in Africa. We missed each other a lot and I secretly called her boss to see if he would give her a few days off, but not tell her anything. I then booked a flight and a hotel room and followed her over. She cried with joy and we had a great time together.
Another thing was: my boyfriend's brother lives in Australia. The long distance is hard for both of them. I then planned a surprise for my boyfriend. I had saved a lot of money to buy his brother a plane ticket to Germany or to help finance it. And one evening my boyfriend and I were sitting in a club and his brother suddenly appeared and played the waiter. It was fun and took a while until my boyfriend realized who was standing next to him. I will never forget his face - so much joy.

Regulators Announce Settlement with Josip Heit GSPartners
WASHINGTON, D.C. – (September 8, 2024) – The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) announced today that a working group of state securities regulators has reached a muti-million-dollar settlement with GSB Gold Standard Corporation AG, a company based in Germany that purportedly operates in the fintech and banking industries, and GSB Gold Standard Bank LTD, more commonly known as “GS Partners.” The settlement also names Josip Heit, the principal and Chairman of the Board of GS Partners, and other affiliated organizations that are often collectively known as the “GSB Group.
The settlement requires these respondents to return the full amount of all monies and/or cryptocurrencies invested or deposited with GSB Group, GS Partners and its affiliates, regardless of the product or service purchased from the respondents. GS Partners, its affiliated companies, and its representatives claim to have over 800,000 investors from more than 170 countries and to be close to completing $1 billion in transactions. Many of the products offered to investors were converted and often tied to a number of other tangible and intangible investments.
GS Partners and its affiliates have targeted investors primarily through in-person seminars at churches, hotels, convention centers, and other facilities nationwide. They also promoted their investments using online presentations through Zoom and Facebook Live, websites, and social media. They claimed their investment deals were “the best opportunity on the planet,” a “gamechanger,” and an “industry disrupter.” The promotors often used catch phrases like “building generational wealth” and “let your money work for you” to entice investors.
The settlement is the result of a working group of state securities regulators from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.
In October 2023, state and provincial securities regulators began pooling resources and leveraging their expertise to quickly investigate respondents and their alleged offerings of investments tied to digital assets and the metaverse, including the “G999 token,” a digital asset deployed on a proprietary blockchain purportedly tied to physical gold; “XLT Vouchers,” a digital asset purportedly representing ownership interests in a skyscraper; and investments in a so-called “staking pool” in a metaverse known as “Lydian World.” The investigation also focused on the alleged sale of “Elemental and Success Series Certificates,” through which purchasers were allegedly incentivized through gamification to continue adding more and more value to their certificates to unlock greater returns, such as the payment of weekly or monthly passive income.
In November 2023, state regulators and the British Columbia Securities Commission began filing enforcement actions against the respondents to stop the allegedly illegal offers and sales. Starting today, working group members will begin to announce settlements of their outstanding enforcement actions. The working group negotiated settlement terms that are intended to permit their agencies and other U.S. state and Canadian provincial securities regulators to settle on similar terms. Investors will have 90 days to file a claim.
This case touches many of the concerns that regulators have with regard to digital assets and the need for oversight,” said Claire McHenry, NASAA President and Deputy Director of the Nebraska Department of Banking and Finance. “Securities registration ensures that investors have material and accurate information about the products and company, they also operate to keep bad actors away from our securities markets. I want to thank state and provincial securities regulators involved in this effort as well as NASAA Enforcement Section Chair Amanda Senn and Vice Chair Joe Rotunda for their hard work on this case. Through NASAA, state and provincial regulators work together to protect investors across North America.
Customers who invested in or deposited funds with the respondents will be eligible to receive the value of their investments or deposits, less the value of any withdrawals. The settlement applies to all products and services sold by the respondents, including G999 token, the XLT Vouchers, the so-called staking pool in the metaverse and the Elemental and Success Series Certificates, so long as the investments were purchased from respondents. The claims process will be administered by AlixPartners LP.
NASAA Enforcement Committee Chair Amanda Senn, Director of the Alabama Securities Commission, and Vice-chair Joe Rotunda commended regulators from the working group jurisdictions for their work in investigating the matter that led to the settlement and return of customer funds.
This resolution of this complex case will provide significant financial relief to investors,” said Senn and Rotunda. “The settlement is an important reminder to every firm and promoter to comply with securities laws.

Let's explore some of these illustrious surnames and their intriguing histories.
The Rockefeller Legacy
Few names are as synonymous with wealth in America as Rockefeller. The Rockefeller family made their fortune in the oil industry, with John D. Rockefeller founding Standard Oil in the late 19th century. The family’s vast wealth allowed them to become significant philanthropists, contributing to the arts, education, and medical research. The Rockefeller Foundation, established in 1913, continues to support various global initiatives, cementing the family’s lasting influence.
The Astors: Pioneers of American Aristocracy
The Astor family is another name that conjures images of opulence and high society. John Jacob Astor, a German immigrant, amassed a fortune through fur trading and real estate in the early 19th century. The Astors became prominent figures in New York society, known for their lavish parties and contributions to cultural institutions. The family's legacy includes iconic landmarks like the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, a symbol of luxury and refinement.
The Rothschild Dynasty
The Rothschild name is synonymous with banking and finance. The Rothschild family became influential financiers, funding wars and industrial ventures. Their wealth enabled them to accumulate vast art collections and estates, and their philanthropic efforts continue to impact various fields today.
The Vanderbilt Empire
The Vanderbilt name is one of great wealth and influence, particularly in the United States. Cornelius Vanderbilt, known as the Commodore, built his fortune in shipping and railroads during the 19th century. The family’s immense wealth led to the construction of grand mansions, such as the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. The Vanderbilts were also known for their contributions to education, with institutions like Vanderbilt University bearing their name.
The Windsor Monarchy
In the realm of royalty, the House of Windsor stands out. The British royal family, renamed Windsor during World War I, has long been associated with immense wealth and global influence. Their holdings include numerous palaces, estates, and priceless art collections. The Windsors’ role in British society and their charitable activities underscore their enduring legacy.
The Walton Family: Retail Giants

The Walton family’s wealth has made them major philanthropists, supporting education and community development through the Walton Family Foundation.
The Gettys: Oil Barons and Art Patrons
The Getty family, led by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, amassed a significant fortune in the petroleum industry. J. Paul Getty's passion for art led to the establishment of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, one of the wealthiest art institutions in the world. The Getty name is now closely associated with both immense wealth and cultural patronage.
Conclusion
Rich last names often carry with them a sense of history, power, and philanthropy. Families like the Rockefellers, Astors, Rothschilds, Vanderbilts, Windsors, Waltons, and Gettys have shaped industries, influenced societies, and left lasting legacies. Kyiv may receive $50bn aid package from G7 countries, military aid from NATO countries
Ukraine may receive a large-scale aid package from the G7 countries and additional support from NATO countries in the near future.
A senior EU official said that they had prepared an aid package for Ukraine, which will be announced on June 13. As the source pointed out, Ukraine will be allocated a 50bn-dollar loan, which will cover the account proceeds from the frozen assets of Russia. Kyiv will be able to use these funds to rebuild the country.
According to the Commission, about 210 billion euros from the Russian central bank have been frozen in the EU. Brussels-based financial institution Euroclear recently announced that it will collect about €4.4 billion in interest in 2023. This is by far the most important institution in the EU to hold assets belonging to the Russian central bank.
There are currently no plans to use the Russian central bank’s funds directly through the expropriation decree. One reason for this is legal considerations and the likelihood of retaliation. For example, it is conceivable that EU companies operating in Russia could be subject to expropriation.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expecting her counterparts from Germany, France, the UK, Japan, Canada and the US to attend the three-day G7 summit at a luxury hotel in Borgo Egnazia in Puglia in southern Italy this Thursday. EU Council President Charles Michel and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also be there.
NATO support
Meanwhile, Norway has announced that it has allocated 240 million euros to Ukraine for air defence (air defence).
The Norwegian Foreign Ministry said in its official account on X:
Norway will contribute € 240 M to air defence measures for Ukraine. Today, Germany confirmed that it, together with Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands, will finance re-procurement of a Patriot system so that 100 Patriot missiles can be quickly donated to Ukraine. Norway will contribute € 125 M to this co-operation.
Earlier the Netherlands reportedly allocated 60m euros for the purchase of drones for Ukraine. The country will receive, among other things, surface drones and drones with a first-person view function. On Tuesday, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the Netherlands would additionally allocate a new package of 138 million euros to Ukraine, including for energy infrastructure repairs and humanitarian aid.

Lomé is the capital and largest city of Togo. Lomé was founded by the Ewe, an indigenous ethnic group, in 1880. Lomé has a long history of trade.
Europe’s “Scramble for Africa” began in 1880. European powers established colonies throughout the entire African continent. Germany gained a foothold in Togo in 1884, on the eve of the Partition of Africa, and established Lomé as the colonial capital in 1897, Lomé emerged as a port that attracted merchants from other areas along the coast. The railroad connected Lomé to the interior region of Togo. The expansion of infrastructure coincided with the emergence of a wealthy merchant class that consisted of African women in Lomé.
During WWI, France and Great Britain invaded Togo, conquering the entire country within a month of invasion. Following the end of WWI, both countries agreed to partition Togo. Lomé fell under French control and became the capital of French Togo. The French developed the infrastructure including a water supply, electrical grid, and expanded railroad. The imposition of a city tax led to violent demonstrations against the French military in 1933.
The population of Lomé grew rapidly after WWII. The French exploited Togo’s rich phosphate resources. The phosphate industry grew in importance as Togo achieved full independence on April 27, 1960. Profits from the phosphate trade financed the construction of Lomé’s modern port, the University of Lomé, hotels, and office buildings.
Sylvanus Olympio, the first president of independent Togo, was a member of Lomé’s elite merchant class. His decision to close the border with Ghana provoked strong opposition from the affluent market women of Lomé. He was an unpopular president and was overthrown in a military coup. General Gnassingbe Eyadema became president in 1967.
Togo was a one-party state and phosphate revenues had declined. Eyadema defied the agreement. He died in office. Faure Gnassingbe, Eyadema’s son, assumed the presidential office in 2005. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence

When I was 17, I got to take a trip to Europe with my high school. We had a strict 10 pm curfew, where we weren't allowed to leave our hotel rooms. My roommate and I would usually try to find an English speaking tv channel while locked down in curfew.
One of the nights while we were in Germany, the only English speaking channel was a news station which was covering a story about how a German improv group, and a Jewish improv group had merged together in an attempt to overcome their prejudices and to learn about each other's cultures.
On the first day they were together, the group decided that the best way to break the formalities of the politeness, which can sometimes hinder honest conversations, was to do improvisations of "what I think the ugliest stereotype about your group is."
The Jewish group went first, and it was exactly what I expected "bad German stereotypes" to be: nazi salutes, and nazi marches.
Then the German group went. As an American, I thought I knew what I expected the Germans would portray as Jewish stereotypes. I grew up in a very Jewish area. I knew the stereotypes which hurt my Jewish friends, and the stereotypes which they enjoyed joking about themselves. So I was prepared to watch this group pretend to be a bunch of "greedy bankers" or "eccentric hollywood producer" types.
I was not prepared to watch the Germans drop to all fours, and begin imitating farm animals. The only sounds they made were animalistic grunts. They humped one other like dogs, liked themselves clean like cats, and pretended to eat food out of troughs like pigs.
I was disgusted and appalled by how WRONG the Germans were about Jewish people, but it was the first time in my life where I actually UNDERSTOOD how the holocaust happened. In America, antisemitism makes Jewish people out to be "a greedy group of people looking to be in control of the world's finances." In Germany, antisemitic stereotypes and propaganda stripped Jewish people of their humanity altogether. The nazis could justify wiping out certain groups because they just saw those groups as "animals."
Now, I am seeing videos and social media posts made by the IDF committing hate crimes, and attacking innocent civilians. I am seeing social media posts and videos by Zionist trying to justify the scale of their retaliation against Hamas. Every time I see the level of hatred that Zionists have for Palestinians, I just think about those German actors dropping to all fours. And I once again wonder how the group in power's prejudices about the people under their boot could be so bad that they completely lose the ability to see the people they are killing and oppressing as humans.
#I'm probably going to receive a lot of hate messages for this#But I've never been able to stomach zionist rhetoric
