Sometimes I look at my art with complete disgust. I hate it, and I hate when I don't live up to my own aesthetic standards. I know when is not good enough, when something is looking weird but i just can't figure out what.

Sometimes I feel very impatient about my own progress. I see the great artists I admire and I want to be one of them, now! But I just don't have enough study to live up to that

I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in these thoughts, it is frustrating to be a learning artist.

However, sometimes is good to take a step back and look at your old drawings and realize how much you've grown! Last night I decided to do just a sketch of my Boyfriend's fursona. Didn't do much planning, decided on a couple of references try it, fail it and then try it again.

And the end result surprised me. Is not perfect but is so much better than my last few attempts. He looks fucking hot. A few months ago I just couldn't figure out how to draw a muzzle in a way that feels right. How to give the head some sense of direction. How to give muscles volume. And now, I'm not saying I've mastered those things but i managed to go somewhere and I just love it!!

Anyway, maybe I'm writing to much for just a simple sketch. I hope the finished piece makes me as proud as this too! What do you think? What's your experience with your own art? c:

i wanted to search smth on here but i got heavily side tracked by cute/hot furry people and now i don't remember why I got here in the first place and I just went on a like spree no one could stop me but myself
