Daily UT/DR Sanses and Papyruses

time for some of my favorite skeletons! todays skeletons are from:

horrortale, by @/horrortalecomic! horrortale is very neat and cool methinks, one of the first undertale au comics i've seen actually. sans' sprite was made relatively early on, and i'm still proud of it. papyrus' sprite is... kinda meh, i could not figure out how to make the sprite more recognizable, so forgive me please.

(a/n: had this one in the drafts for months and i just wanted to get it published so i skipped out on Nightmare. so sorry this took so long, i hope you’re doing well anon! anyway, im hoping to get back into the writing groove. we’ll see how this goes.)

undertale:

sans:

-“hey, i’m sorry… c’mere.”

-he would engulf you in a hug, if you’re okay with hugs

-while he’s happy you’ve gotten out of a bad relationship, he’s still sad with what you had to go through.

-he’ll make puns to cheer you up, however many it takes.

-he for sure takes you out to eat at grillby’s.

-he’s there to be a listener, a shoulder to cry on, and someone to go to whenever you’re feeling particularly down.

papyrus:

-“a BAD relationship? human, why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

-he’s so sad. his best friend? being in an unhappy relationship? WITHOUT telling him? he’s distraught.

-he cooks for you breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

-he does literally everything in his power to make you happy

-it doesn’t matter what time it is. you call him, he’ll come.

-he’d do anything to see you smile

Underfell

Sans:

-“about damn time you left that douche,” he grumbled.

-“Red, not the time.”

-he rolled his eyelights.

-“fine, fine. whatever.”

-his face turned a little softer.

-“anything i can do for ya?”

-he would do a lot. he’d complain about it the whole time, but if you asked, chances are he’d do it.

Papyrus:

-his eyes narrowed.

-“you say they mistreated you?”

-he sighs when you nod.

-“alright, come inside.”

-he moved out of the door frame so you can enter. he gestures towards his couch.

-“sit down. i’ll make you some tea.”

-he comes back a few minutes later with tea for you both. he seems slightly annoyed when you blow on it, despite it being scalding hot.

-he’d listen to anything you wanted to say to him about it.

-after that, you never see your ex again…. strange, they lived very close to you…

-oh, well.

Underswap

Sans:

-“a bad relationship, you say? why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

-he listens to you, anything you want to cent

-he gives his best advice on how to not end up in a situation like that again

Papyrus:

-“want me to beat ‘im up for ya?” he would jokingly ask.

-but he’d do it for real, if you wanted him to.

-he’d drag you onto his couch and watch all your favorite movies with you until you both fell asleep.

-he’ll provide you with all your favorite snacks.

-he’d stay up late with you while you cried, and do his best to comfort you.

-he has shockingly good advice.

Horrortale:

Sans:

-he seems taken aback.

-you weren’t happy in your relationship? this whole time?

-that hole in his head affected him more than he initially thought. he couldn’t even tell his best friend was struggling.

-he’d feel super guilty about that.

-you’d also have to hold him back by his good to keep him from charging after your ex.

-after he finally calmed from his anger, he’d be there, open arms and willing to help.

Papyrus:

-“i see. come inside.”

-definitely cooking all of your favorite foods for you, listening while you vent and cry.

-he doesn’t have much advice, but he does his best.

-offers for you to stay the night (or as long as you want).

-he does his best to cheer you up, even with his physical limitations.

Dreamtale:

Sans:

-he freezes.

-how had he never noticed?

-suddenly, everything clicked for him. the way he had been sensing more and more negativity from you since you and your ex had gotten together. how you always brushed the topic off, saying it was work or family matter.

-the way you had pushed him away.

-he snapped himself back to reality, offering for you to come inside.

-obviously it didn’t take him long to cheer you up. it took longer to heal, but he’ll make this right for you.

How would the main 10 skelebros react/comfort y/n from crying?

(undertale)

Undertale Sans - He sits next to you and waits. He doesn't want to force you to talk or hug him, he's just there if you feel like it. He's patient, and lets you calm down taking the time you need. He just wants to be there for you if you feel like talking about what's wrong.

Undertale Papyrus - You're making him anxious. That's five times he's checking on you now. He puts a plaid on you, and serves you tea, and gives you a teddy bear, and food, and chocolate... PLEASE JUST TELL HIM WHAT'S WRONG HE'S PANICKING. He wants to help desperately but he doesn't know why ;w; He doesn't want to pressure you but he's too anxious to not pressure you. He has no idea how to help, he's quite distressed right now.

Underswap Sans - He gives you some space. He's unsure what to do to help and he's not really good with this to begin with. He's just half-hiding behind the couch, glaring at you, uncertain, waiting for you to ask him to come or something lol. Help.

Underswap Papyrus - He comes to the rescue and crushes you into a hug. He gives the best hugs. He waits patiently for you to calm down then starts to make small talk to either get you to talk or divert your attention from what made you cry. If you want to stay like this for the rest of the day, it's fine! He has nothing better to do anyway.

Underfell Sans - He awkwardly comes to pat your back, keeping a safe distance in case you get mad at him so he can retreat fast lol. Man, he has no idea what the hell he's supposed to do. He's not used to people crying in front of him, usually, monsters go to hide when they need to. He's so confused about what he's supposed to do.

Underfell Papyrus - He gives you Doomfanger, who is not too happy about that. He taped "how to uncry a person who's crying" on Google and apparently hugging pets works, so here you go. Doomfanger claws your face because she's mad you're holding her. Now it's worse. Edge is distressed about what to do now that his genius plan didn't work. He's just.... standing there.

Horrortale Sans - He kidnaps you in his hoodie and holds you close, purring lightly to soothe you. He doesn't talk or try to make you talk, he just hugs you close and nuzzles your neck until you have enough. That's ok if enough is in five hours, he's happy when you're happy.

Horrortale Papyrus - He's crying by empathy without any idea why he's crying lol. He's just like that. He's also a nervous wreck and will try a lot of things to make you feel better, but he's hyperventilating and crying doing so, so chances are after a moment you're the one that will need to comfort him lol.

Swapfell Sans - He gives you a paper. Give him name, address, reason why you're crying and he'll take care of it. He is distressed seeing you like this and he's unsure what to do, that's the best he can do to make you feel better lol. You're not sure killing whoever hurts you is going to solve the problem, but you thank him for the initiative.

Swapfell Papyrus - He's clowning around to make you laugh, making a fool of himself and pranking Nox in the house to have a reaction from you. He won't stop before you smile, then he will sit next to you and ask what's wrong.

Fellswap Gold Sans - He's in protective mode, growling at everything or everyone trying to get close to you in your moment of weakness. You're stressing him out, can you hurry and stop being sad already? He doesn't like seeing you like this, he's scared someone will take the opportunity of it and he won't allow it.

Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He hugs you close and brings you into his safety closet so you can both hide from the world and cuddle him until you feel better. He doesn't like seeing you like this, it's stressing him out.

I read this fic waaay before I realised I was somewhere on the aro/ace spectrum and hoooo boy my obsession with it when I was younger really makes sense now. Incredibly sweet, they go from hate to love, and the reader is aro/ace. It’s a little messy, but isn’t everything?

The Nebular Theory - Skelebros/Reader - Ongoing/Unfinished

If it's not obvious already, I absolutely adore this fic. You want some REALLY good characterisation? A juicy plot that has me wishing I had the space for a red-string theory board? An attention to canon details that make me scream? Communication between characters!!!!!

Love? It's Complicated - Series - Finished (...?)

I'm cheating here by linking the entire series (which is 11 fics of various levels of interconnectedness) but it's so worth it. This series tore my heart out, stomped on it, stuck it back in and gave me a sweet little kiss at the end. Several times over!! I cried like 4 times in one night while binging it!! Also this series contains one of the few OC/Canon stories that I enjoy!!

I actually read Burning Mountain first and then everything else in order and proceeded to LOSE MY GODDAMN MIND reading the first and second fics because OH. That's why the end of BM was so... OHhhhHHhhhh.........

The current fics included in the series are all finished, but I'm not sure if the author intends to come back to it in the future.

In the meantime, their other fics A Little Bit(ty) of Trouble (F) and Cold Blood, Warm Heart (O/U) have also stolen my heart. Those ALSO deal with dark, complicated topics so tread carefully and enjoy!

REALLY fun concept- what if Blue recruited the Bad Sanses to also help out when the other Star Sanses are busy. Thus the Bad Sanses become!! THE PLANET SANSES. The rest of the series is also fun- I liked the first fic, Blood Moon the most though :]!!

in regards to the horrortale timeline for Skelechara how'd the kid wind up being revived if the body was located in the ruins and no one is allowed to enter the ruins?

Oh the canon horrortale timeline takes place in the exiled Queen Toriel ending, where Papyrus, Mettaton, and Undyne are still alive. In that ending the SkeleBros go to the ruins to hang out with Toriel and sometimes one of them will stay while she goes out to Snowdin to check out books at the library.

In my version of Horrortale the famine is caused by blight - crop disease and subsequent failure. Toriel is forced to seal up the ruins to prevent the crop disease from spreading to there, but her and the SkeleBros work together to organize rations being exported from the ruins. This is obviously not enough to sustain everyone else, because the Ruins are first and foremost a city, not a farming community, and also there's not a lot of monsters, though I think in a situation like this all monsters in the ruins would work together solely to assist with this to help. It's slowing down their demise which is actually good because Alphys is working tirelessly to develop strains of the crops that are resistant to the disease.

Anyways in SkeleChara, it's during one of the pre-famine visits to watch for falling children that Papyrus revives Chara. He wouldn't have done it (or had the opportunity to) after the famine starts.

Inverted!Horror Skelebros, what can i say. They're almost royal guards, protecting the tree of feelings in DreamFate and also being guards in Undyne's parties, since they have no magic they have this bone to fight, for sans that's all he need, idk about paps thought but i guess he does, maybe paps would have another weapon made of bones, idk.

Inverted!Horror Undyne & Alphys! Okay so basically Hopeful said to Fell!Alphys "heyo! Since you're the most intelligent alphys i have, create a weapon that could defeat Nightmare.", and she looked at Horror!Alphys and she was like "found it" and now Horror!Alphys has a bear brain and gets buffed by... determination i guess.

Of course Horror!Undyne didn't and don't like the idea but she can't do anything about it. Oh yeah and Undyne does a lot of parties too, the logo represents her party company

Inverted!Horror Toriel, Flowey, Aliza and Grillby!

Well a thing to let very clear is that Aliza is in Nightmare's side, because she has the Fear soul trait and Flowey has none so Hopeful couldn't make them be happily ever after, specially Aliza bc if she stops feeling fear she'll lose her trait and probably die idk.

Grillby is a bartender for parties bc Undyne does a lot of parties in DreamFate and also in HorrorTale most of the time, since Hopeful provides the food and DreamFate being a alternative home for HorrorTale having shops and stores they can buy a lot of stuff

Toriel is still half blind and calm, but Hopeful makes her way more energetic and that's why she's crazy for parties, i think she would be the second biggest fan of Undyne's parties, losing for sans. Now c'mon she's a old lady that lost her children and husband, just let her stress out in parties taking alcohol and drugs man
