It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Robin Williams is still greatly missed. I know I miss him. It's hard to talk about him without making this Birthday post too long or too personal because of what he means to me. He shaped a lot of who I am, just as he did for many others. Each time I see someone talk about the impact his incredible spirit had on their life, it makes me appreciate him even more. And while he lives on in his performances, he also lives on in the comfort and laughter his incredible work continues to bring us. I recently rewatched the first thing I ever saw him in: Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre. Yes, before I saw Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Jumanji, or even Mork & Mindy, this gem of a show changed my life by bringing Robin Williams into my world. As a child, I was obsessed with the show. OBSESSED. It made me fall in love with these classic stories and introduced me to some of my other all-time favorite performers (such as Bud Cort, Carrie Fisher, Carol Kane, Paul Reubens, and Dennis Christopher). As an adult, I still watch my DVD set. The episodes are beautifully done and I will forever be grateful to Shelley Duvall for making this happen. I even collect the RCA Video Discs for the series. These discs have gorgeously illustrated covers, which I hope to display one day all together once I have them all. Right now I have 11 of them. Here I have posted the disc for The Tale of The Frog Prince. Williams is perfectly cast as the Frog Prince. This was a perfect introduction to him because his performance is equal parts hilarious and charming.

The AC isn't working and it's currently 91 degrees in here. So I decided that along with being so overheated that I can't sleep that I should *also* be sobbing... which is why I turned this movie on. For a film so heart-wrenching, it surprisingly still finds a way to be hopeful in the most wonderful ways. It's so beautiful. This is what we call a hosting home run! @adele knocked it out of the park last night and I am so proud of her. And I loved how she did the monologue, it made me so happy! She hit every comedy curveball thrown at her and, let's be honest, when she broke during "Africa Tourism," we were all laughing with her! It was such a great episode. I love when someone comes on to host and is able to show a new side of themselves to the world. 🎈SOPHIA SURGERY UPDATE: Things have been very hectic today, especially since I last posted. My sister is out of surgery and everything went very well! We are finally up in her room and she is expected to stay in the hospital until at least Thursday. Before we made it up to this room, we turned on the TV in the recovery area and we were BLESSED by the TV gods with the boys of the BAU. Thank you so much to everyone who kept my sister in their prayers and thoughts. I am trying my best to get back to everyone but will probably have to pick up where I left off tomorrow because it is so late right now.
