Y'all we need to TALK

Do you remember when I first questioned goats AGES ago, together with deer? And I posted a lot about it? Well, before I started questioning domestic goats... I suspected a different animal.

The chamois

I stopped questioning it after a while but now it's BACK and it's really strong... Like... I never completely stopped questioning goats, it's just that there always seemed to be something off about them as a kintype-

Two years ago a friend of mine said that if I were an animal I'd be a chamois and that made me so so so so happy??? I didn't know what shifts were back then, but it definitely made me shifty... Huge species euphoria-

Idk man I've been thinking about these guys so much... I imagined myself as one of them and it made me so happy I could barley fall asleep- Everything seems to fit- The size, the appearance, their winter and summer coats...

Idk... The only thing that's sorta throwing me off the chamois is that they really like the cold, something that I tend to despise. But then again... What if I had a thick coat to keep me warm...?

Idk that's just so me?? I jush see myself in them???? HHHhhhhHh

I'm gonna do more research into other goats but... Yeah... Guys. I might be a chamois idk man

I can't be the only one who thinks it's weird that dragons, angels, fae, birds, bats and insects are all grouped together under "wing(ed)kin" despite having literally nothing else inherently in common. Wings are just a body part, not any more special and significant than fur or teeth. It's like if there was a "hornkin" community for demons, dragons, antelopes and beetles.

Goodmopal everyone! It’s monday! I’ll be hornkin out my new schedule for the week before taking it easy tonight! I discussed wanting to start the silent hill series last week on stream but first i think i want to stubbornly get ONE GOOD END in pocket mirror to cap the series off by attempting a speed run! It’ll be my first ever and I do not think I will place above any of the existing ones but it’ll be fun to try!

I don't consider myself otherkin, but I've stopped making a big deal about otherkin mostly because I've recognized that my Thing about satyrs and horned people and how badass it would be if I, specifically, had a big ol' set of ram's horns is separated from otherkin mostly by my desire to not conceptualize it in that way, or like my disinterest in attributing some kind of real essence 'beneath my skin' to my fixation on being horned. and it's not like I haven't casually thrown around the word 'hornkin' to describe that fixation, mostly because the idea of using it seriously to refer to myself is uncomfortable to the point of humor. like other similar concepts, otherkin has specific forms of intolerable bullshit associated with it/articulable only within it, but I refuse to tolerate those things because they are bullshit and not because of their association with someone whose self-image resonates with something not human or not strictly themself and who labels that experience 'otherkin'. y'know? the same facts that put me off identifying as otherkin also, ultimately, imply that there's no good reason to argue about it with someone else for whom that's a comfortable designation.

my ~hornkin~ (god) tag is ‘la femme cornu’ as of about eight hours ago, and a) I haven’t taken French since uhhh Fall 2012?? b) what the fuck kinda French adjective ends in 'u’, so I forgot that the feminine is 'cornue’… but tbh given that my Weird Horn Thing is also a Weird Gender Thing I might just keep that spelling
