Bit late cos I was busy but - Happy Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster

Excited to see those guys in grief with new animations and insane graphics.

I'm not surprised about the backlash against the remaster of a seven-year-old game but I for one am absolutely thrilled! Zero Dawn will be even better with all the updates that made Forbidden West visual eye-candy!

While both Zero Dawn and Forbidden West have snow, I noticed something kind of interesting. Despite snow being present really only on mountain ranges, meaning that both instances happen to be rather similar, it’s surprisingly different in terms of physics

Here we have the tracks left in Zero Dawn (Alt Text added for more clarification!) The walking pace is on the left, and the slide is on the right. The most noticeable details we can see here are that for walking, footprints are visible despite the height of the snow, and for sliding, the trail cuts off rather quickly. It was hard to find a deep patch of snow for this, all things considered, as The Cut doesn’t really have much in terms of deep snow.

And here are the tracks left in Forbidden West (Also with alt text!) The walking is on the left, and the sliding is on the right. As we can see, the snow here is deeper, and a bit more detailed, though at what cost? The biggest difference is the lack of visible footprints, though the trail for sliding actually lasts a bit longer as well!

First pic I captured in the new remaster, seeing and hearing Rost again made me so emotional
