“I was thinking that entrusting the captain's title to Manatsu would place a heavy burden on her, but I believe that she's a person who would fully accept and take the responsibility. So I'll be leaving it to you from now on.”

“It made me really happy to know that a lot of people came here very early in the morning and stayed up until this late. It was really difficult to hold back the tears during the handshake event today. There were people who came for the first time, those who always came, and those who came again after a few years.

Surprisingly, I can also remember even those who only came once before, and it's really difficult to hold back the tears when a sudden memory of that person comes to mind. It has been quite a day.”

“I've never had the experience before of being told “thank you” by this many people in my life, but despite that I was the one who wanted to walk along this path, upon receiving words such as “thank you for being an idol”, I felt that I'm the one who was being saved by everyone instead.”

“It's really wonderful to have a close exchange of words with everyone, isn't it? I think there's no place other than handshake events that would build up this much boost of encouragement.

I have nothing but gratitude for everyone.”

Good evening!

Everyone, I, Reika Sakurai has officially graduated from Nogizaka46!

Ahh! Honestly, it's been a while since the last time that I just simply enjoyed a live!

Because I always had something on my mind.

But yesterday, I couldn't eat anything at all before the live...

Maybe I turned out to be nervous after all and was just unconcious of it.

Once again, thank you so much!

Right now, I'm the most surprised myself, that I was able to continue being an idol for 8 years!

Nogizaka46 was a place that's filled with my dream, youth, and so much memories that I can't even put into words at all.

I just want to say thank you to all the people who have been greatly connected to Reika Sakurai, and Nogizaka46.

If I hadn't met everyone, the current me wouldn't exist.

Back then during our formation, I've been told that I was completely not an idol material. But I was able to continue up until now, because everyone was there to help me build up my idol image.

The only thing that I have is gratitude.

I believe the path in front of me that I'll walk from now on, is a pretty steep mountain road.

And I'm a bit anxious that I'll be on my own without my comrades who have been beside me up until now.

But in order to become a full-fledged person, I have to go back to the beginning and start all over from a scratch.

When things become hopelessly difficult,

I'll deliver a signal with a glance saying; “Everyone, please help me!”, alright? Haha.

The members who have always supported, encouraged and given strength to a person like me who totally didn't even have any confidence in herself.

The staff who always believed and protected us.

The media staff from various positions, who fully supported us with all their strength, in order for Nogizaka46 to reach as many people as possible.

The fans who unconditionally poured love into us that our gratitude will never be enough.

Thank you so much!

I'll definitely show my growth!

I'll become a refined and charming person!

So please watch over me!

Ahh, but if you could just remember me from time to time, I guess that's already enough. Haha

These best 8 years were the most enjoyable!

Every single day was like a dream!

Starting from today, I'll do my best again, upon setting off to chase after a new dream!

Good evening!

今年のツアーも遂に始まりました！

This year's nationwide midsummer tour has finally started!

1箇所目は名古屋からのスタート！

The first phase of the tour starts at Nagoya!

2日間ともかなり盛り上がりましたよ〜

We were really fired up, it was a blast performing on both days!

勢いあるスタートが無事きれました！

We've had a pretty good start, and it successfully ended safe and sound!

ここから、福岡、大阪、東京と周っていきますが...どんな時も、どこの場所に居てもメンバー全員一心同体。最後まで突っ走ります！！

After this, we will also be visiting places such as Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo. But regardless, no matter when, or where we might be, the members will always be united as one and we will run at full speed all the way, until the very end.

そんな中、今日は皆さんにご報告。

In the midst of all that, I have something to report to everyone.

��の度9/1をもって乃木坂46を卒業する事が決まりました。

As of this moment, it has been decided that I'll be graduating from Nogizaka46 and will continue to be active up until 1st of September.

ここ数年、卒業していくメンバーが増え

The members who have been graduating from the group has increased for the past several years.

色々なフィールドで奮闘する姿を見て、

And as I have witnessed their efforts and struggles on various fields,

自分もそろそろ乃木坂46のその先に続く

I have also realized that it's about time for me to continue in a path beyond Nogizaka46.

新たな道標をつくる立場にまわるべきだと思うようになりました。

That I'm now standing in a position to set up a new guidepost.

グループが益々大きくなって、これからもっと素晴らしい景色をみていくんだろうなぁ。と思うと、私も一緒に...。と少し寂しく思ったりもしますが。

Upon thinking that “the group is currently growing even bigger, and I'll probably get to witness even more wonderful sceneries from now on. (While I'm still a part of them...)” 

It made me feel a bit lonely.

グループの更なる成長のためにも、未来の新たな仲間のためにも、何より私自身のためにも。早く一人前になって、この人、乃木坂46の初代キャプテンだったんだよ！とみんなの自慢になれる様に頑張らなきゃな！！

For the sake of the group's further growth, for the sake of the new members in the future, and more than anything else, for my own sake. 

I've gotta work hard and do my best, to stand on my own feet, and become a full-fledged adult as soon as possible. In order to be a person that everyone can be proud of, and boast as a person who used to be Nogizaka46's (first generation) founding captain!

自分を成長させてくれた、真夏の全国ツアー。汗も涙も笑顔もたぶん一番多く溢れた、明治神宮野球場でラストを締めれる事が本当に嬉しいです。

The nationwide midsummer tour that enabled me to grow, and probably the place where we shed the most tears, and countless smiles. To think that I'll have my last performance in Meiji Jingu Stadium, it makes me so happy.

卒業までの残り時間があまり多くないのですが。最後まで「乃木坂46」「キャプテン」と向き合っていきたいと思います。

THE BANK ROBBERY stageplay has concluded its series of performances!

Thank you so much for those who came to watch!

Ahh, it's all over now...

What an enjoyable stageplay it was.

I was laughing so hard that my stomach hurts, every single day.

Everyone was already in a good atmosphere, ever since the first time we all gathered up together.

But to think that it would become a place this comfortable.

I was worried because this was my first time to perform in a comedy production.

However, I was able to discover a lot of things that I didn't know about myself and also learned about many different things.

I'm really happy that I became a part of BANROBA!

(TL: BANROBA is a shortened word for “Bank Robbery”)

It was such a wonderful period.

I'll do my best to perform again (with everyone) as a part of this company!

Everyone from the casts,

Everyone from the audience that supported us

Everyone, from all of the people that was a part of BANROBA,

I love you all from the bottom of my heart!

I've already got to become a “Ofurosuki” as well.

(TL: The hat she's wearing. It means “A person who loves baths/bathtub”, it's a reference from a character in a Japanese TV program for children.)

And the “Konya-nyachiwa!” part was difficult.

Well then, I also don't have much time remaining as an idol.

So I'll spend each day thoroughly, and do my best until the very end!

It's been a while since I last posted a blog.

この間お花見に行ってきました！

I went to see some flowers the other day!

どの桜の木も満開で綺麗でした！

Every cherry blossom tree was in full bloom and was really beautiful!

やはりお花は癒されますね〜

Flowers are really soothing after all, aren't they?

今年もまた生花する機会つくりたいなぁ。

If there's a opportunity for me to make flower arrangements this year, I'd sure want to make one.

年末のバタバタも、ライブも、舞台も

The hectic days at the end of the year, the lives and stageplays.

一通りやり終えて、つかの間の一休み。

Generally, it all came to an end, which gives a brief moment for rest.

“I'm not very confident in myself, but everyone's encouragement will be my the strength!”

I was raised on the countryside in the Okayama Prefecture. I'm not very active in my club activities and I barely come outside to play. When I get home from school, it's either; I'll be watching animes or playing guitar all day. The artist called “HoneyWorks” (Currently known as CHiCO with HoneyWorks) was the reason why I started playing guitar and that was the time, that I also came to know about Nogizaka46.

I'm not very good at standing out in front, and I've always had a background role in culture festivals.

The auditions conveniently took place during summer of my first year in high school, so I figured trying it out. If I didn't get accepted, I probably would've aspired to pursue the path of animation or music industry in the future.

I usually don't have confidence in myself, but thanks to the encouragement from the fans during our first meeting with them, I was able to smile during our entrance without getting nervous. I was able to perfectly introduce myself, perform and dance, and answer the quiz without mistakes!

I am currently treated as a “little sister” among the 4th generation, but I'm hoping to be a reliable individual to the people around me someday.

This is the first single that I've been selected as a senbatsu member.

First of all

I am really, really, really

happy from the bottom of my heart!

I still just can't believe it.

I'm full of astonishment.

I really wanted to express this to everyone who has always been supporting me up until now.

Ever since I joined as member of the 3rd generation

To work hard as a member of the senbatsu someday, appearing in things such as television or magazines was a place that I've set as my milestone.

Of the Nogizaka46 that I've always loved ever since I was in primary school!

Whether it's a senpai or a colleague

Each of them

Regardless of where they are

Everyone's always sparkling and shining

To the point that it's dazzling.

Each of them on those respective places are doing their best efforts and giving all they've got.

That's the kind of scenery that I've witnessed

As I became active working up until now.

Nothing has changed in the world that I've looked up to since then.

Therefore, in order for me to always keep up with the other members

And in order to shine regardless of where I am

In order to be acknowledged

I'll give it my all!

I have worked for 2 and a half years with such feelings in hand.

These feelings that will never change even after this

In order for me to keep up with the hard working members

I would like to learn and show the best that I can do.

This time

Since it's my first time being selected as a senbatsu member

Will I get to witness the sceneries that I haven't been able to see up until now?

Upon thinking about that, it makes me so grateful.

I would like to study a lot and become a significant member that can contribute to the group.

I happened to meet Wakatsuki-san by coincidence.

Without having any thoughts

I reported that I got selected as senbatsu.

Then tears started to fall from Wakatsuki-san's eyes

Jeez, really...

She really took care of us a lot

And she even congratulated me as if it happened to herself.

Once again, I've realized that our commander is such warm hearted person and is too affecionate.

In order to live up to her expectations

I'm gonna do my best!

For everyone who have always occasionally climbed up the slope with me.

In order to gradually show my growth

and in order for everyone to be proud of me.

I'll do my best from now on as well.

今年ももうすぐ夏のツアーが始まります！

The summer tour is about to begin this year!

そんな中、私は舞台 THE BANK ROBBERY の稽古がスタートしてます！！

In the midst of all that, I also have started rehearsing for the stageplay “THE BANK ROBBERY”!

演出の小林顕作さんをはじめ、役者の皆さん

ユーモアがあり過ぎて毎日笑いっぱなしです！

It's my first time to perform together with Kensaku Kobayashi-san. The actors also have a good sense of humor that each day is filled with laughter.

バンロバは現在もイギリスで大人気絶賛公演中のコメディ舞台。今年日本初上陸の作品です！

The BANROBA is currently being performed in UK and it's a very popular comedy stageplay with high praises.

最初から最後までずーっと笑って、ラストはまさかの結末で終わる。全員が騙しに騙しを重ねています。

Filled with laughter all throughout, and ends with an unexpected finale. All of them deceving each other one after another.

Talking about Reika-san's graduation,

I’ll be honest, I'll say this as many times,

But I hate it when my seniors are graduating.

I've had enough, it makes me sad.

I love Reika-san so much.

It's gonna take time for me to fully accept this one.

That's why, in the midst of this Nationwide tour,

I'll treasure and cherish every time we're on the stage until we get to Jingu.

Tamami really loves Reika-san's presence during the rehearsals.

And I admire her when she dances.

It's too fascinating, and I love it.

During the rehearsals,

She's so beautiful even without any make-up,

As she casually ties her sweptback hair,

Into a ponytail.

From that aspect,

It's a bit disturbing how dazzling she is,

And as she slowly wears her fitted trousers,

Oh jeez, I just admire her style.

On civilian,

When she wore this big loose white t-shirt,

I was thinking how stylish she was, as I stared at her.

And that's when I started looking for the same white shirt on stores.

It just makes me want to imitate her.

She's so admirable.

Despite of being so beautiful,

Reika-san is a captain that has a delicate, soft aura

That gently wraps up all of the members.

Reika-san is a kind of idol that's both lovely and beautiful.

As a cameraman takes her picture,

Regardless of when, or where she might be,

No matter what kind of moment it can be,

Her smile will always be beautiful.

To smile with such beauty.

That's the kind of idol Tamami wants to become.

愛がなんだはまだ上映していないけど予告を観て、早く観たいなぁとわくわくしています

“What is Love” hasn't been shown on the cinemas yet, but I'm excited and been wanting to watch it after seeing the trailers.

小さな幸せ、生き甲斐、ずっと何かを求め続ける虚しさ悲しさ、生きていると幸せなことばかりでは無いけどきっとみんな幸せになりたいと願っていてでも知らないうちに人を傷つけ自分をも傷つけ、人を守って自分を許しての繰り返しで生きて行くんだなぁと。

A bit of happiness, the purpose of living, the emptiness and sadness of chasing after something for all this time. Living isn't filled with just happiness, and even if you're wishing to become the happiness of others, you'll end up hurting them and also yourself. Protecting people and forgiving one's self, we are living in the midst of this cycle.

深川さんも出ているし個人pvで撮っていただいた今泉監督ですし楽しみです！

Fukagawa-san and the person who filmed my individual PV, Rikiya Imaizumi is also starring, that's why I'm really looking forward to it!

21世紀の女の子はホットギミックを撮ってくださった山戸監督はじめたくさんの監督さんがたくさんの女の子に焦点を当てて撮られてつくられたオムニバス形式の映画らしく、はやくも胸がギュンギュンしています。

4人で頑張って人文字をつくってみたんだけど

2019年の 9 担当でした！結構難しかった...笑

We were supposed to form the 2019, and I was in-charge for the number “9”. It was quite difficult to be honest, haha!

去年も色んなことがあって怒涛の年でしたが、

とっても素敵な1年でした。
