Anyways I don't think he's doing to die. Hori's probably going to make his status ambiguous until the end of the war. He's getting the PLA arc treatment again.

If Hawks dies, it's likely going to be connected to Sad Man's Parade. We have so much stuff left around why he killed Jin. If he doesn't die, well, at least a moment of actual clarity as to what he did would be nice.

Part 1: I liked katsugeki for what it was. The animation, music, and overall pacing was nice. I liked how Izuminokami was portrayed as a leader (as in why he was a captain), and Horikawa’s internal emotions. The bonds created between the swords (esp if they were enemies) Over all it was a good anime. However, I do agree with what others are saying. Yagen was not the person he should have been. He came off cold to everyone including his brothers. I also didn’t like them showing the Saniwa.

Ooh so you liked the pacing? I found it too slow and generally inconsistent. I'm probably too biased towards not liking any of Hori's character momente except maybe his interactions with Mutsu. 

Well they didn't show a gender for the Saniwa? The character is intentionally ambiguous, the subs went with referring to the Saniwa as male but my understanding of it is they're never officially labeled one way or another. 

Kane and Hori weren't the main characters of Hanamaru so I'm not too bothered by the attention to them specifically although leading with another group really could have been nice. Considering how Katsugeki left off I don't feel like it would make sense to focus on another group if there was a continuation but i get how you feel!! 

I've never read the Katsugeki manga myself but I hear it handles things better in ways so there is that!!
