He was totally furious and angry and devastated by the death of his first and only friend.

Remember that Spinner was an outcast, so he decided to stay alone and playing videogames, especially the League of Legends. After that, he met Shigaraki who told him he played LOL too. Spinner found in Shigaraki a friend and a hero.

While Spinner transformed and got bigger, the police wanted to intervene but Deku stopped them.

He wanted to let Spinner confessing everything he held in his heart and told his sorrow...

Spinner said "The past never dies", that he will continue what Shigaraki has started and told him he gonna write a book about it and Deku answered him, not to a book but a comic.

Before leaving, Deku said he won't forget Shigaraki for as long as he lives.

And Spinner said to Deku to tell the "octopus" aka Mezo, to do his best.

Second: Overhaul met again his boss.

The boss said it's too late to apologize to him, that he should apologize to Eri for the rest of his life. Maybe Eri will forget about Chisaki, but it wasn't the reason to forget what he did to her. The boss told him that he'll stay by his side and scolding him until his death...

Third and last part: welcome back to UA.

"Chip's teeth" in a part where Chip is interviewed, he tries to communicate even without having teeth, and the interviewer interprets it as there is a child in a well and says he is going to save him.

Exactly that would be me. I put the dialogue that is in Latin Spanish, but I imagine that the dialogue in English is similar (I think).

At this point, why was this even an arc? Why not make Eri some rando kid Aizawa adopted or smth?? Then Hori tried to make Kai relevant by making Decay half of Overhaul, then the fandom started demanding some answers and he leaves us NO backstory to explain.

honestly i’m glad to see so many (not too many but quite a few which is rare for overhoe) people be upset with how chisaki’s character was handled.

his conclusion is fine, not meeting eri and being scolded by pops, that’s what most of us expected but not getting his backstory or even some tiny crumb of context as to what the hell happened to him pre meeting pops is wasted potential and i’ll die on this hill.

also pops acting like he didn’t entrust eri to him in the first place?? or that he didn’t even take care of 2 distraught children?? both eri and chisaki needed HELP. psychological HELP that the only trusted adult in their life did not provide. he failed both eri and chisaki what the hell. the guy was a yakuza boss for crying out loud. his own daughter disowned him so why is he not being treated like a not-so-black and white character like endeavor? reading through his self righteous attitude was painful as hell.

It's such a waste for Overhaul to simply rot in a prison. So many people got hurt and buildings were destroyed during the war, they should have gotten him prosthetics and made him heal those injured people and restore their homes. Imagine how much faster those affected areas would recover and how much money the government could save if they made Kai do the labor. It's not gonna make up for what he did to Eri but at the very least it would help so many people at a much faster rate. I feel like Hori doesn't want to use the potential of this character simply out of spite

"It's not appealing at all." "Uh, yeah you think?" Toru remarked. "Damn dude it's impressive how bad that is." You spoke in-between bites. "What is this monstrosity? Uh, it's freaking tight dude! Hearing the door crack open, You and Iura peaked around to see sawada peaking in. "Oh hey! Sawada just showed up guys!" Iura loudly announced. "I'm guessing you can for Miyamura." Iura continued as you finished your pastry. "No." Sawada said quietly. As soon as Miyamura greeted her she as usual ran behind him.

"I'm actually here for you Iura." Sawada said. "Me? Really? What's up dudette?" Iura questioned. "Uhm, do you like chocolate? Or no?"

Everyone in the room stood quietly in shock for a few seconds. You looked over at Iura as he looked shocked and shook lightly. "Y-Yes. I like chocolate." He said shyly. "Do you have a favorite?" Sawada asked as you stared in shock still. "No not at all! I love them all! I like bitter or sweet and I have no known allergies, kay!" Iura said with a big smile on his face. You stared at him as you could feel your face getting sweaty.

"So yup! Any kinda chocolate works!" Iura then said. "Got it. Thanks Iura." Sawada said. You could see Iura looking back and forth before reiterateing by yelling; "Any kind at all!"

"You wanna spend time and cash on chocolate for Shuu?" Toru asked. "Wait!" Sawada said surprised. "Shocked anyone besides Hori is on your list." Miyamura said. You nodded as well. "Kinda surprising.."

"Shut your mouths right now before you discourage her you killjoys!" Iura yelled. "Hey if you wanna make me sweets that's your prerogative okay?" Iura says with a hand behind his head. "Ugh- what kind of warped delusion are you living in to think I'd make sweets for you?" Sawada says with a grossed out look on her face. Iura stands there shell shocked. "I'm going back to class, where things make sense." She says as you four watch her leave. Iura stands there shocked still.

"Huh.. What!? She's the one who's not making sense, y'know?! Huh?!" Iura yells in a phrensy. You sigh a bit. Although you felt bad, it was revealing that Sawada wasn't going to give Iura any sweets.

After a while, Iura heads out for the day. You stand slightly awkwardly looking at your feet. "So, bet that was pretty awkward for ya?" Toru teases you as he slaps your shoulder. "Considering you were planning on giving Shu something?" "Toru!" You yelled as you punched his shoulder. "Ah you like Iura, Y/n?" Miyamura asked. "It's pretty obvious." Toru speaks up as you continue hitting him.

You sigh as you finally stop, looking towards the ground as you whip your bag over your shoulder. "I've liked Shuu for awhile now. He's my best friend though. So this I guess will be the test or whatever? Ugh. Why am I even talking to you two about this?" You turn twords the two with a frown. "I need someone like Hori or Yoshikawa." "Harsh." Toru and Miyamura sulk slightly.

"Well, whatever you get him I'm sure he'll go crazy. He's my friend, but he's pretty lonely." Toru says as Miyamura nods. "Thanks for nothing." You sigh as you open the class door. "I'm out, see you tomorrow." "Cya." Toru waves as you close the class door.

Valentine's day is so far away, yet so soon. You were pretty nervous, but still. This was something that had to happen. It is third year after all.

The day was here. You'd stayed up late into the night out of fear, but it was finally time. The entire walk to school you were a mess as you shook with nervousness and fear. You inhaled as you looked around the corner to see Iura laughing with a classmate. As you backed away a little, you felt a shove. You looked behind you to see Yoshikawa shoving you with a grin. You hid the gift behind your back before speaking up.

"U-Uhm Shuu?" You mumbled loud enough for him to hear as your blush grew. "Oh, hey what's up N/n?" Iura paused as he saw the blush painting for face. When he saw your hand behind your back his face suddenly also exploded in red.

You stuttered for a second as you took your hands out shakily, revealing a small box wrapped with a yellow and pink pattern and a cd that had a small yellow bow on it. "Happy.. Valentine's day." You said as you held them out towards him. He yelled as he shook his head causing you to jump lightly. He grabbed them from you quickly with stars in his eyes. "Wow really for me?!" He yelled. You nodded as you cracked a smile at him.

"The CD has some new songs I thought you'd like.. I'm not sure if you've listened to them though." You awkwardly laughed. Shuu nodded as he placed the CD under the box and opened it up. There were various different kinds of chocolates all placed neatly in a row. Shuu could feel his face get hotter.

"I made the fillings myself. There's only 3 of them though." You laughed. "Oh! And here," you said digging through your bag pulling out a pink paper bag. "For your sister and you to share.. I made too many for just you." You blushed more.

"Y/n.." Iura looked shell shocked as he just stared at you. He then laughed as he pulled you into a hug. "You're just the person I wanted to receive chocolates from y'know!!" He yelled. You gasped as you felt him slightly rock you back and forth. He backed up a bit, popping a chocolate in his mouth. "Mhm matcha.." he gapped as he spoke with his mouth full. You chuckled as you could feel yourself get nervous again. "so.. Do you.. Uhm." You stopped as you could feel more eyes on you. Suddenly you remembered you were in the hallways. You looked around in embarrassment as you stuck your face in your hands. "I should have chosen a calmer spot!" You yelled, startling Iura.

He then laughed as he closed the box and hugged you again. You slowly took your hands out of you face as you looked up at his face. His goofy grin was replaced with this serious smile, one you'd only really seen at his house.

"I like you too." He said softly. You gasped as you tensed a bit. You then relaxed into the hug as you hugged him back. "Good. Cause those chocolates were hard." You joked.

We probably aren't going to see Kai until the end of the manga if my predictions are right.

But I don't wanna wait that long- so, instead, I'd like to see him using his quirk to help heal the injured. Nagant switched teams along with Gental and La Brava, now the Hassaikai?

I want this outcome so baaddd😭😭 I miss Hari and Nemoto! And I want to know what's happened to Rappa, Setsuno, Hojo, Tabe, all of them, it's been so long! I want them to know what's happend to their Boss, to see what's become of him. I wonder how they'd react. Would they be able to snap some sense back into him? Would they expect this to happen or be blown away?

If Horikoshi doesn't bring them back I'll cry then sue him. I need answers.

I just looked up the meanings of Chisaki (thousand blossoms) and Kai (ocean/sea) and I have two thoughts

Horikoshi named his Pure Evil Unsympathetic Child Abuser villain "Sea of a Thousand Blossoms" which is a weirdly romantic name for that sort of character archetype

Hey, I love your blog and everything you do, the Duds and Duds are amongst my faves. So I have a question for you, if you want, if there was anything about the storyline of the series you could change, would you and what would it be, like I know Tsukauchi was supposed to be the traitor, he was a spy under All for One’s control I think. And apparently Endeavour was supposed to be killed at the start of Paranormal Liberation War. Not sure if Kurogiri was always going to be Oboro. Have a Good Day

There are plenty of ideas I've had over the years. So for this, I'm discussing the ones most on my mind and I'm dividing this into three categories: removals, additions, and rewrites. And I won't include any that I talked about before extensively, like with the Stars and Stripes or Vigilantes Arc rewrites, or anything I feel deserves its own post to talk about it, like the Mutant Discrimination plotline during the Final War which I have yet to discuss.

For the removal, I would remove a lot of the later story choices with the villains. Specifically, I really wished the Tatartus Villains were more interesting and threatening as a force or used better, Stain and Overhaul especially. Stain gets killed off is one of the biggest missteps in the series for me. I'm honestly really confused why Hori decided to do it that way. And despite Overhaul being such a big bad early on, Kai was reduced to more of a tool to be jerked around by other characters and to get punished for what he did. Which, fair, was pretty objectively evil, and he should be punished, but I don't find the material they give him that interesting. Don't even get me started on everything that happened with him and "Decay".

For an addon, I would have the students train more. Specifically, under teachers and upper-tier pro heroes that could help them expand their Quirks in ways we get to see. While this could help offer some explanation of certain growths and power-ups the other students get, it's more about developing characters. I've talked about before how underdeveloped the teachers are, and that extends to a lot of the pros as well. It could help give more character to the students and their mentors by giving them some interactions, having the students take on certain traits from their mentors, or gaining new techniques inspired by them. Think like Shinso and Aizawa, but with other students and heroes.

Finally, for the rewrite, I would include another arc. Specifically, around the time of the Joint Training, the MLA War, and the Endeavor Agency. While I do think that the series has some time and pacing issues, the worst example of it is around this point, specifically with Tomura. He grows so fast in a single arc, going from dumpster villain to the most dangerous person in Japan. We need some gaps to get us to this point. Putting another arc for the villains where they grow to that point, even if it's a small one, I think would help set it up more. You could even give the hero side some of this extra time as well, giving the other heroes and characters more time to grow and set up everything for later.

thinking about Shigahaul and if they were allies they'd be lovers so quickly because Shigaraki doesn't lie, and he'll treat Kai like a real person and tell him how it is and nobody talks to the boss like this and it's a hassle to be around Shigaraki cause he's a brat but he can be put to good use and they are so THEM i wanna strangle them i love them, i want them to admit they love eachother on screen, that's Overhaul's conclusion Hori told me at the bar/srs

oh god not to steal your thunder here but why does this sounds exactly like deadpool and wolverine 😭😭 like i think overhaul would be so against being allies at first but when he eventually just accepts it he would realize how good they work together, and this would lead to them to get feelings soooo quickly ugh i love them too!!!!! chisaki making fun of shigaraki but never allowing anyone else to joke about him because he will have you disassembled ☝🏾

kai's post-canon verse. so this verse operates under the assumption that canon happens as we know it up until nagant frees chisaki. he armless, ambitionless, hassaikailess. you get the idea. however, the kai that we see in canon with nagant is not the one you'll see written on this blog- and i have a theory as to why he was written that way:

i imagine that horikoshi went a little too hard/too dark on overhaul and this mini-arc (and his end of canon shot) of his was a way to knock him down to a sniveling, pathetic shell of who he was to sort of ease the readers. it's hori going, "dw guys!! the bad guy's pathetic now!" type of thing.

there's no really no chance of kai getting "redemption", either. if he was to get recaptured, it'd be straight back to tartarus for him. there's no big victimization he was a part of, no super sad backstory. kai is a villain who is just bad to be bad - unlike toya, or even tenko. and as such, i tried to make his post-canon verse reflect that.

when this kai is freed by nagant, he does go with her to point out izuku, repaying his debt for her freeing him. once that contract is ended, chisaki leaves the scene, and nagant, deku, and co have their little reunion without him.*

* i am cooking up a separate verse with isa where nagant and kai stay together, rather than nagant getting recaptured.

he's on his own and seeks to reconnect/rebuild the hassaikai. he starts by finding hari, finding those who still have some loyalty to pops/to the hassaikai as a whole, and building from there. the entire operation comes from a place of humility and hard work. kai has prosthetics (with claws)*, is quirkless, and now has to use his skill and leadership to rebuild what he, himself, tore down. he returns to more a more old school yakuza way of thinking, and through his new humility and regaining some sense of humanity, the shie hassaikai is eventually rebuilt under him. this verse will likely be written/interacted with during a time where the hassaikai is known to be coming back under him, but isn't quite to its former glory.

* also, hilariously, overfeet is not completely off the table in this verse. however, to first discover that overhaul is stored in the feet, then to practice enough to get back to the level to fuse himself with new arms, and THEN to actually do so takes quite a bit of time. unless stated, kai will be written with high tech prosthetics.

Hate to say it but sometimes I find myself agreeing with the horny side of the fandom when they lament the fact that Kai doesn't have cool intricate Yakuza tattoos because oh yeah the aesthetic rips but also can understand why he doesn't both because thats not really a thing for modern Yakuza and also it probably wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Kai's extreme mysophobia makes him less than enthused about being prodded with a needle for hours in a dingy establishment. But, do it for Pops, Kai. ( Then he would, lets go with that. ) We are nothing if not slaves to the aesthetic here.

ANYWAY, another note about him, I'm thinking about AUs / canon divergence and want I wanna do with him post Overhaul Arc beyond what canon did. We know Hori wasted him in an extreme way like make your eyes water type way that almost reduced his insane godmod quirk to a plot hole ━ UNLESS .... Though it is NEVER spoken or really expanded upon in canon, the reason the overhaul quirk could have been written off was because Kai was the only one who could use it. This isn't entirely out of the realms of canon possibility because we have seen there are several quirks that can't be copied or used outside of the bodies of their original owners. In fact, the only two people that seem to have been SMART ENOUGH in the entire MHA world to engineer a way for these type of quirks to work outside an owners body is Kai ( With Eri's rewind ) and Kyudai Garaki with the rest of his shit. Though this being said, it seems not even Garaki was able to successfully make a copy of Overhaul useful outside of the broken version of it Tomura apperently received. ( which is something I still don't think I'll be keeping as a fact in my canon because its one of those things that ended up kind of unnecessary. )

So we could also say that Kai's intelligence and scientific knowledge helped play a part in him being able to use his quirk so well. Without these things, his quirk is useless to everyone else. So yeah, I'm going to say BOTH things to make sense of why his quirk was so underutilized in canon, at least !! But that doesn't fix the armless problem and this is where the canon divergence I've been playing around with corfides comes in.

Pretty much the whole Nagant thing ended up useless. So we're going do some canon divergence and change the prison break situation for Kai. Instead, Kai is going to be found by Hari and Stain during the prison break and they're going to become a hilarious bumbling threesome of guys who have beef with the heroes AND the villains. Kai wont have gone with Nagant, she'll have gone and done all that on her own since his presence makes literally no difference either way. Kai ends up getting his arms back thanks to Hari and Stain. We've decided this would be as easy as reattaching one because canon has even stated Kai can use his quirk with someone else's hands. We're not going down the prosthetics route because its cliche to me, instead. Hari offers one of his arms to Kai. So we get to do a fun nod to monsterhaul here with Kai having his arms back but having them look distinctly inhuman. Cause this said.... Kai isn't his old self. Its not exactly clear what happened but Kai appears to have some type of brain damage from his fight. And I'm not one to erase disabilities. This is something thats not really explained in canon outside of an offhanded comment that he "has some screws loose." And other characters wondering what is wrong with him. The running theory is Kai lost it after the LoV cut his arms off but if you actually look back at canon Kai seems to be out of it BEFORE the LoV got to him. Which leads me to think maybe Kai's uh... Distant / scatted, near catatonic state of mind wasn't just brought on by "grief" (which I'll say def worsened it, as I'm also headcanoning he was told Hari was dead so thats on top of him knowing he wouldn't be able to heal pops thus him believing he'd completely lost everything ) but that Kai might have actually been suffering side effects from taking multiple 100% punches to the face from Deku's superpowered OFA and that this is actually whats "wrong" with him post Deku fight. Though we know he was rewound by Eri at least twice, the logic of her rewind seems inconsistent. For whatever reason Kai was rewound enough to undo his mergers with his minions but was apperently not rewound enough to heal his injuries ? Thats what we seem to be shown in canon as it doesn't really make sense for Kai to have lost otherwise, because though he would have been separated from his mergers, he wouldn't have been out of fighting condition but rather quiet the opposite. So we're just gonna go with Eri's rewind being inconstant at times, especially cause her power was very untrained at this point and her intentions weren't to heal Kai, but rather to stop him, so maybe it was a result of her unconscious wishes shining through that he wasn't healed but just stopped. SO YEAH. ANYWAY. Kai is suffering some type of brain damage. Which is going to effect his memory + other things and how proficient he is with using his quirk. He wont be able to use it as perfectly as he could before. But he can still use it. And he'll be practicing to try and get it at least good enough to fix pops. This leaves his situation with his arms on the Horror TM side of things because though he has his arms back, thanks to his use of his quirk being less effective, his attempts to restore his other arm haven't been entirely successful and his arms now have a distinctly inhuman appearance, looking more like his arms in his monsterhaul form.

This without the second set of arms on the back lol. We've also talked about Kai and Hari accompanying Stain in his fight against AFO in aide of All Might. Stain's doing it because he's gay for All Might, but Hari and Kai ? They see an opportunity to get in societies good graces and also fuck the League of villains / AFO. So they help with the fight. The outcome is however roughly the same with Stain getting "killed" by AFO but in THIS canon divergence, Kai is able to use overhaul to restore Stain from death. This is a big success moment for him, showing he can indeed heal pops.

This results in Kai, Hari and Stain being offered a type of "pardon" at the end of the war along with other villains / criminals who helped out like Gentle, La Brava and Nagant, though Stain is quirkless. This gives the heroes the opportunity to have Kai use his quirk to do a bit of good for everyone, like not just healing pops and getting chewed out by him, but also help heal some of the more severely injured during the war.

Okay, this is a weird idea that popped into my head. And I want to complain to MHA while I wait to see how much more disappointing this series will be next. Let's take this part and write it as the origin.

Humans are experiencing energy shortages. (Let's take what we can easily see in our era) because to travel the universe requires energy. When you have to use energy, you have to have money! Which government can find new energy? Or has any scientist discovered new energy? The government will raise as much capital as possible so that the country can become a cosmic superpower.

When you can't find it on Earth, go find it outside of Earth (dead space). Send people to drill outside the universe. But as far as the moon And then a new energy was actually discovered. The owner country and the drilling company received financial support. Raise funds and equipment for free to become rich.

But they went to the moon and got infected with something. and caused the project to be temporarily suspended. Send sick people to Earth to be healed. and covering up news about extraterrestrial drilling projects and these illnesses to keep the public from panicking

Some viruses were found from the patient. And started experimenting to find the cause (resident evil) by testing it on rats. But it caused the lab rats to have thoughts. Until he obtained things called quirks, he planned to escape from the testing center (the origin of Nezu, which Hori didn't think to tell).
