sometimes i amaze myself with the mental leaps i'll use to justify buying more yarn to start another project.
#reflecting on how i ended up in the position of making a very disorganized linen/granny square blanket#breaking news: it was howl's moving castle (book)#my brain was like 'oh god this book is so cozy...but ya know what's cozier? *wink wink nudge nudge towards my yarn chest*'#it was kind of planned...i'm still using yarn up from my stash that i had no idea what to do with#but in the end i did buy more yarn to fit this loose color theme i have (honestly no theme but eye candy) and to get it to the size i want#*sigh* hopefully i'll have this thing done by April or so#at least it'll be ready to go for next winter cause i really did need a blanket to keep me warm since my room is the one with no heating#such is life#personal#crochet

im extremely stressed but in a passive way. like i can't seem to get myself to work on the things that are stressing me out so instead im curled up under a fuzzy blanket with an extremely soft and warm and cuddly cat, which is objectively really nice but the stress is making me feel sick even if this is a really nice situation in the moment
#sigh.#i think im gonna fail this year. im failing in all of my classes except for orchestra and food+nutrition.#i can probably pass science and english but i dont think i can pass algebra II or sociology or spanish#i might be able to make them up if i can manage to snag a spot in summer school but idk if ill be able to do that#this is kind of terrifying. i dont want to end up spending an extra damn year in high school. i really really don't.#if i cant get into summer school then i might be able to just retake algebra II next year since i only need 3 credits to graduate and i -#- already have 2. i might not even have to take a full year if i do alright next semester.#i dont know how it'll work for sociology and spanish because like... sociology is a social studies class and i think i need 4 credits for -#- that? but i dont know for sure. they dont make it very clear.#i also dont know what the deal is with extra language classes either. idk if i have to retake those or not.#this fucking sucks. my executive dysfunction is the worst it's ever been i think. i can't function normally anymore.#i can't do schoolwork. i can barely do chores. even doing fun stuff requires me to jump through hurdles to actually do it.#im stressed 24/7 bc of it and i can barely sleep anymore and my body is constantly hurting and i have stress headaches and just. agh.#i have a meeting with my school counselor tomorrow to talk about options for making up failed classes so. yeah. hopefully that'll help.#winter break is almost here which is both gonna be horribly stressful and wonderfully relaxing#hopefully they'll just cancel each other out and ill feel Fine. not good or bad. just Fine.

Away For Valentine's

↺ back to navigation — send me a request!
Valentine’s Day was off the table this year, and so was everything you had planned for you and your boyfriend.
You were disappointed when he shared the news with you, but you couldn’t be mad at him, not when it wasn’t his fault.
He saw the disappointment in your face, and how much you were trying to hide it by just smiling and nodding, your head finding a spot on his shoulder to avoid eye contact. He appreciated you understanding the situation, like you always did, but that didn’t mean he didn’t feel guilty.
“I know we had plans-”
“Lan, don’t worry about it” You took a deep breath before looking at him again, trying to get rid of the sadness in your face “I mean it, we can do that some other time”
He was about to say something but a quick kiss on the lips stopped him. You proceeded to look at him, offering him a small smile and a glance that he knew meant ‘I don’t wanna talk about it’, so just nodded as he smiled back.
A few weeks go by and his winter break was coming to an end, meaning soon he’d have to leave the comfort of your shared home and go get started with his preseason duties. That’s something you were used to, having to see him leave for long periods of times but it barely ever affected your relationship. He always made sure he made enough time for you, even when the time difference was huge and he was feeling tired most of the time, he needed to make time for you. Your love for each other was so strong that, at the end of the day, you were just relieved you still had each other even if all you had was a five minute call every day.
But still, sometimes it was hard to see him go, and this time was one of those times.
The night you knew would be your last one with him before he left he decided to take you out on a date. Fancy clothes and an even fancier restaurant were your plans for the evening, and you knew he was trying to make up for Valentine's Day. It wasn’t the same, of course it wasn’t, but you still enjoyed every second of it.
The food, the small talk, the jokes, the stupid stories, the shy glances, the small touches, everything was perfect, almost making you forget he was getting on a plane in a matter of hours, but your smile slowly faded as soon as you remembered.
The ride back home was quieter than he would’ve liked, but he knew exactly what was going through your mind, and honestly he couldn’t blame you cause his mind was flooded with the same thoughts.
As soon as you got home he ran around the car and opened the door for you, offering his hand and kissing yours as soon as he took it. You smiled softly at him and you made your way to the door. Once you were inside, you dropped his hand to take off your shoes and tossed them somewhere close to the door, sighing in relief as you started walking towards your room.
“Mhm, come back here” He whispered as he grabbed your hand and pulled you back into him
“There you are” Lando smiled softly at you as his lips found yours. After a moment he broke the kiss, and both of his hands found a better spot on your waist as he started to move along the off-tune song he started to hum. You couldn’t contain your smile, quickly trying to keep up with him. You moved together in a slow dance, it was like your bodies were in perfect harmony.
Lando was looking down at you in pure admiration, almost as if he was trying to memorize every centimeter of your face so he wouldn't forget it while he was away, but you didn’t dare to look up, scared you would make eye contact with Lando and you wouldn’t be able to take it, so you safe option was to rest your head on his chest and pray you didn’t mess up. Although it wouldn’t matter if you did, you were just in the comfort of your living room anyway. But you didn’t wanna mess up.
He eventually stopped humming, hoping the silence would encourage you to look at him, but when you didn’t he moved one of his hands to cup your check, making you look at him. For a moment your eyes lock, making the silence feel very loud and Lando couldn’t help but smile at you, and you immediately blushed, but tried to play it off.
“You’re a terrible dancer” He laughed and you narrowed your eyes playfully and softly hit his shoulder.
“You’re one to talk” You joked, locking your fingers behind his neck and giggling when Lando scoffed.
“Maybe we should go out to dance and I could show you all of my moves” He started to move again, bringing you closer to him.
“I thought you didn’t like slow dancing”
“I do if I get to hold you this close to me” He replied, once again finding your lips.
This time the kiss was longer, both of them savoring each other’s lips while they still had the chance “I’m sorry about Valentine’s” He whispered once he pulled away, your forehead resting on his.
You giggled at this. You had assured him a million times he didn’t have to worry about that, and he still apologized every time he remembered “You need to stop apologizing”
“But I am sorry”
“I know, but it’s not your fault” You hand fell on his hair, slowly stroking his soft curls “And I had a great time tonight, so I’d say love is not dead”
He laughed at his, dimples appearing as his eyes vanish for a moment “I still wanna make it up to you”
“You will” You replied as your head fell back on his chest “But for now I just wanna enjoy this” You closed your eyes and inhaled his scent, and after a moment of complete silence you can feel him start moving again, his soft hums interrupting the peace his heartbeat was giving you.

Morning wood with EE73?? Please and thank you 🩷
[ good morning to you too ] e. edwards
➾ paring : Ethan Edwards x fem!reader
➾ summary : friends become lovers when an awkward moment turns into a morning of passion
➾ warning(s) : smut !! morning wood, fingering, soft morning sex, unprotected p in v sex (don’t be silly, wrap your willy), nicknames during sex, a single use of “y/n”
➾ author’s note : this was supposed to be a short lil thing but then i got carried away and it’s now 90% smut and 10% plot (oops)
༺═──────────────═༻
Her entire body slowly wakes up from head to toe when she wakes from her light sleep. At first she feels nothing as she comes out of her sleep, then she slowly begins to feel something poking the back of her thigh. She’s very quick to realize that it’s Ethan’s dick that’s poking her. She remains very still so she doesn’t cause anything to happen. Especially since he’s already moving a little bit.
Then the worst case scenario happens. Ethan mumbles her name in his sleep. It’s her nickname that only he calls her.
She moves quickly but hopefully carefully out of bed to avoid what will be a very embarrassing moment for the both of them.
What she thought was graceful was really not. She ends up scrambling out of bed and falls to the ground. Ethan wakes up and looks over the side of the bed.
“Uh, good morning to you too?” he says, phrasing it like a question. “Why did you decide to fall out of bed?”
She stares up at him. “You have, um …” she trails off. “A problem. It poked me. I was trying to leave you to take care of it but ended up falling out of bed.” And you said my name remains unsaid.
That’s territory that she’s not sure she wants to enter. It will change everything between them if she says it. She isn’t interested in ruining the most important friendship she has.
Ethan leans back to see what she means. She watches his cheeks turn tomato red from the ground. “Oh shit,” he gasps. “I am so sorry. I didn’t- this rarely happens. It would happen when you sleep over. I-”
“You can’t control it,” she interrupts. “It’s natural. I’ll just leave and go make breakfast so you can take care of it.”
As she stands up, she realizes that between her thighs is damp and there’s a pit in the bottom of her stomach like she’s turned on. She presses her lips into a tight line and crosses one leg over the other to put some pressure on her core.
Yeah, this is super embarrassing. She can’t believe that her body is betraying her like this.
“(Y/N), come here,” he orders.
“Ethan, I-”
“Come here, Sunny,” he tries again, this time with an emphasis on her nickname.
She remembers the day he started calling her Sunny.. It was their freshman year and she was having a bad day. They met in English 101 at nine in the morning. He noticed that she wasn’t having the best day and said to her, “Well, aren’t you a ray of fucking sunshine.” She just glared at him not knowing that they were going to be the best of friends within the month.
Ethan called her ‘Sunshine’ for a few weeks until she got tired of it, so he shortened it to ‘Sunny’ right as Michigan went on winter break.
Clearly, he still uses it. It still makes her feel something. Especially now after she heard him moan her nickname in his sleep while he has morning wood.
The use of her nickname pulls her right to him. She sits with her legs crisscrossed on the side of the bed that she slept on. Her hands are folded on her lap to hide what’s probably a very obvious wet spot on the grey shorts she decided to wear to bed last night.
He sits up and lets the blankets fall to his waist. His hair is a complete mess since he’s just moving for the first time all morning. He quickly runs his hands through the mess to tame it before he turns his attention to his best friend.
“Do you trust me?” Ethan questions. She nods to answer his question. “I need you to use your words. I need to make sure that you trust me.”
“I trust you, E,” she tells him.
Ethan sighs and moves himself closer to her. He puts a hand on her knee and she sharply inhales. She looks at his hand before looking at his face. Their eyes meet and she immediately begins to relax.
This is Ethan Edwards. He wouldn’t do something if she didn’t want him to. She trusts him and he knows that.
He leans into her and claims her lips in a gentle kiss. She leans further into him and reciprocates the kiss. The pair test the waters between them as their relationship takes a turn she never thought would happen.
In the three years she’s known him, she’s wanted him. He had girlfriend after girlfriend or was hooking up with girls so she never got the chance to try anything with him. This is that chance.
The kiss deepens when Ethan brings his free hand up to cup her jaw. She allows herself to wrap one of her hands around his wrist so he doesn’t move his hand. She leans into the light touch. Her free hand slides into his hair so he doesn’t back away from her.
She finally has him and she doesn’t want to let him go. She also makes it a point not to rush anything. She lets Ethan take full control for the time being.
Her lips part and Ethan slips his tongue past them. She gasps as Ethan licks into her mouth. A soft hum follows.
His free hand drops to her waist and he pulls her closer to him. She throws one of her legs over his tights and straddles him over the blankets. She feels the bulge on her core through the covers.
Ethan lies down until he’s on his back with his head on the pillows. She follows him and her hair forms a curtain around their faces as the kiss quickens. One of Ethan’s hands pushes her hair back and she smiles into the kiss that follows. His other hand runs up and down her back slowly.
“Need you to do more, E,” she mumbles between kisses. “Please. Please.”
“You’ve never been patient, have you?” he teases. Ethan pulls back and meets her eyes. There’s a layer of lust that covers and darkens them.
“I’ve been patient enough,” she admits. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this to happen, Ethan.” He blinks at her. “So, I need you to stop taking this slow and do something. Anything, E.”
Almost like he’s been given permission to do anything he wants to her, which she basically has, Ethan flips them so she’s on her back and her hair forms a halo around her head on the pillows. She smiles and stares up at him.
Ethan kneels between her knees to pull off his Michigan hockey t-shirt and tosses it to the floor. She runs her hands from the waistband of his pajama pants up his chest. She traces his toned stomach and bites her lip. His hand fall to the bottom of her borrowed t-shirt and he dips his fingers underneath. She pulls the fabric up and off her body. His eyes fall to her naked upper body, and she doesn’t feel uncomfortable under his gaze. She stares up at him as a finger runs from her lips and down her body until it reaches the waistband of her shorts.
Impatiently, she lifts her hips so Ethan can slide off her shorts. He smiles and hooks his fingers in her shorts. It isn’t long before he tugs them down and leaves her completely naked beneath him. Her legs drop to the side for him.
“Fuck, Sunny,” Ethan sighs as leans down to press little kisses to her stomach. “So beautiful. All for me. All mine. You’re all mine now.”
“I’m all yours,” she breathes out. “Please, Ethan.”
“I’ve got you, pretty girl,” he assures her. “I’ll take care of you.”
She feels one of his fingers run through her slick folds. It catches her off guard and she hums. Her eyes flutter shut and she lets her sense of touch take over. She runs her fingers through his hair.
One finger turns into two, and both his fingers push into her. She gasps and curls her fingers in his hair. Ethan begins to flick his wrist and curl his fingers inside her in a ‘come here’ motion. “Oh my- fuck, Ethan,” she groans.
He kisses the inside of her upper thigh. His movements speed up slightly and she’s a shaking mess underneath his touch.
Her teeth dig into her bottom lip to stay quiet since she’s in a house full of hockey players. The last thing she or Ethan want right now is for them to be too loud and his teammates come knocking on the door or mess with him when he leaves the room. It takes everything in her to not scream his name when he adds a third finger while he continues the ‘come here’ motion.
A knot forms and immediately begins to tighten in her belly. Ethan crawls up her body so they’re face to face, but his fingers stay where they are.
“Ethan,” she pants. “E. I’m gonna cum. Fuck, I’m close.”
He withdraws his finger as soon as the last word comes out of her mouth. She frowns and looks up at him as he licks her slick off of the three fingers that were inside of her. She could cum just from that, but she does her best to wait.
“My fingers aren’t going to be the thing that makes you cum, pretty Sunny,” Ethan tells her as he kneels between her legs. “Not this time when I have been waiting years to get inside of you.”
He pushes his pajama pants and boxers off his body. Her eyes widen slightly as his dick pops out of his boxers. She knows the stories that have been floating around campus so she’s aware how big he is and she saw how big his bulge was in his pants.
She might die today. She wasn’t prepared for all those stories and rumors to be true.
Ethan settles himself between her legs and leans down to hover over her. She stares up at him and feels his tip at her entrance.
“Last chance to stop,” Ethan tells her. “Tell me know if you don’t want this, Sunny.”
“I want this,” she assures him. “I want this more than you will ever know, Ethan. I want you. I need you.”
With her full permission, Ethan slowly pushes into her. She bites her bottom lip and hums as he fills her with his cock. Her back arches off the bed at the feeling. He pushes into her until he bottoms out.
He allows her to adjust to his size before he begins to roll his hips. Ethan starts slow before slowly speeding up every few thrusts. Her hums turn into moans as Ethan moves deeper into her.
She wants this moment to be never ending. She knows that now she can have him whenever she wants and she gets to re-live this moment, but she’ll never experience this moment again. This moment when she allowed herself to be with Ethan after denying herself for the longest time. She let herself be vulnerable with the guy she trusts the most in this world.
Their friendship has officially turned into something more, and she is excited to see where it goes. She’s dreamed of this for almost a year and a half when she realized she wanted to be more than friends with him at one of the hockey celebration parties after an important win.
This is a chance of a lifetime for her. To be with the only guy that she’s wanted for the past 18 months or so. This is it.
A loud moan passes her lips as Ethan throws one of her legs over his shoulder and moves as deep as he can at the new angle. He quickly leans down and kisses her to quiet her. The kiss is feverish from the start and she hums every time Ethan thrusts his hips into her. He keeps her from getting too loud and the moan slipped by.
Her arms are wrapped around his neck and her fingers are in his hair. The bed creaks with every thrust of Ethan’s hips.
Soon, Ethan’s lips are not enough to keep her quiet. Moans bubble from her throat as he rolls his hips as fast as he can while moving as deep as he can.
“Holy fuck, E,” she gasps. “I’m close. Wanna cum so bad. Please.”
Ethan hums. “‘m close too, pretty girl,” he tells her as he pulls back from the hot kiss. “Wanna cum with you.”
She throws her head back as Ethan hits her favorite spot over and over again. The knot threatens to come undone any second and she pants the closer she gets to her pending orgasm.
Her legs shake as she holds herself off. She can feel her walls clenching around Ethan and she’s at her limit.
“Ethan!” she cries out as she cums around his dick. “Oh my God. Fuck, E.”
Her breathing becomes extremely labored and her vision goes white as she releases. She is so out of it that she doesn’t feel Ethan pull out and cum on her thighs and stomach. Her head is in the clouds and it takes her a few minutes to come down.
It can’t get any better than that, right? Then she realizes that she hasn’t gotten his tongue and realizes it could get so much better than that.
When she comes back to reality, there’s a wet cloth on her stomach and thighs. She looks down and watches as Ethan cleans up his mess. He looks up at her and smiles. “Welcome back,” he teases.
“Your fault,” she retorts.
Ethan throws the cloth in the direction of his bathroom before he crawls next to her. He throws the blankets over the two of them before he lies on his side to look at her. His head rests on his hand and he holds himself up with his elbow. She reaches up to trace his jawline.
There are footsteps outside of Ethan’s door, signaling that someone is up. Hopefully they didn’t wake whoever it is up with their morning activities.
“Why haven’t we done that before?” Ethan questions. “I mean, that was really fucking good. I might need to go another round soon.”
“Don’t you have practice soon?”
He quickly flips over to grab his phone. “Oh, shit,” he gasps at the same time a knock rings throughout the room.
“Yo, Eddy!” Luca calls through the door. “You ready to go?”
She giggles as Ethan runs frantically around the room to find something to wear to practice. He makes a point to stop and leave a lingering kiss on her lips.
“We’ll talk when I get back,” he tells her. “Don’t go anywhere, okay? Promise I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
She nods in agreement and watches Ethan run out the door. Luca’s voice carries in the hall. “I didn’t want to interrupt you but we were gonna be late,” Luca says as the two of them walk away.

MISTLETOE
A/N: oh my god??? im actually posting something??? wow!!! okay joke aside lol its been ages since i last poste anything and im not saying im back, but i've been trying to write here and there so hopefully i will be back soon. until then, here is this little something i manage to finish last month!
WORD COUNT: 1.6k
SUMMARY: Everyone knows Harry is crushing on Y/N, but he hasn't made any major moves. Maybe tonight, when they find themselves under the mistletoe...
MASTERLIST | SUPPORT ME!
“So Styles, are you gonna man up and ask her out finally, or be a baby?” Niall laughs, bumping his shoulder against Harry’s as they are approaching the pub they spend almost every Friday night at.
“Shut up,” he groans, but it’s impossible to miss the blush on his cheeks. Niall didn’t even drop a name, but they both knew who he was talking about.
It’s kind of an open secret that Harry has been very into Y/N. Well, all the boys know at least and they very much enjoy teasing him about it. Or maybe not about the crush, but about how long he’s been into her and he still hasn’t made any major moves. The past couple of weeks it’s been even more intense, because it seems like Y/N has been very much open towards Harry and his interest in her, but he’s been clearly waiting for him to make a move.
As the boys arrive at the pub it’s just as buzzing as always even despite the painfully cold weather that’s been keeping everyone on campus wrapped up in their warmest clothes. A few days ago it was even snowing for a bit, though there’s nothing left from the whiteness by now.
Harry sighs happily as the warmth of the crowd inside hugs him in an instant. The bunch that’s already there, including Y/N, is sitting in the back at a table they often sit by, it’s kind of their spot at this point.
He spots her in an instant and his cheeks warm up, but this time it’s not because of the temperature inside the pub. He saw her just the other day at lunch, but he can always feel his heart skipping a beat as if she was coming back from a months long trip.
“You’re being obvious,” Niall bumps his shoulder against his, grinning at his friend, but Harry just rolls his eyes again as they make their way over to the table.
With only two weeks until winter break the place is decorated, there are garlands running along the walls and pipes, ornaments hanging from the corners of the framed photos, there’s a tiny christmas tree on top of the bar and if you’re not paying attention you can end up standing underneath a mistletoe here and there as well.
“Hey! Thought you guys weren’t even gonna make it!” Jackie exclaims as she stands from the table, hugging the boys one by one. She is practically the person who brought the group together, everyone in the gang either had a lecture together with her, went to practice with her or shared a room with her. The latter is how Y/N got to meet the boys, including Harry. Though the two girls are not roommates anymore, they are still very close.
Just as Harry wraps his arms around Jackie his eyes meet Y/N’s over her shoulder and his ming blanks for a moment. With her shy smile, simple yet flattering outfit and vibrant aura she is definitely the one who steals the show, at least in Harry’s mind.
“Hi,” he breathes out when they are finally facing each other and she gifts him with the brightest smile as she lifts her arms to wrap them around his neck.
“Hi,” she giggles, her front pressing against his and he holds her just a bit tighter and longer than anyone else. Which she seemingly doesn’t mind.
Of course they end up sitting next to each other. It’s no surprise to anyone. Niall is sitting across Harry and every time Harry looks his way he gives him a nudging, teasing look that screams “come on, make a move” which Harry tries to ignore as much as possible, though Niall tends to be a bit much at times.
“What are your plans for the break?” Y/N asks him, the two of them have kind of tuned out of the conversation that’s happening around the table.
“Just going home, spending time with my family. My mum is very excited,” he chuckles softly. “What about you?”
“Pretty much the same,” she smiles. “I’m pretty sure my mum has already started cooking.”
They talk about family traditions, gifting and funny stories from past holidays, completely forgetting about the rest of the group for a while. When their glasses empty out they head over to the bar for a refill, sticking to each other’s side still.
When Y/N tries to pay for her drink Harry steps in, earning a knowing look from the bartender.
“What a gentleman,” he murmurs under his breath with a smirk, pushing the two beers towards them. Harry’s ears turn red, while Y/N just nods in agreement.
A guy hurries past them, pushing Y/N slightly against Harry whose hand moves to her waist out of instinct to steady her. The moment gets lost in the crowd to everyone else, but not to them. Harry’s whole body flames, the closeness of her feels exciting and calming at the same time and he doesn’t know, but she shares the same feeling.
“You alright?” he manages to ask her, their faces way closer than ever before. She peeks up at him with a short nod.
“Yeah, thanks.”
It feels like a moment that would be perfect to finally make a move. Harry knows and as he is looking at her he also knows that she wouldn’t reject him, yet he still can’t get himself to take that step and cross the line he’s been dancing on for so long.
The seconds pass by and the moment fades as well, disappointment bubbling in her gut as she moves back from him, his hand falling off her waist and he is already regretting being such a coward.
“Fuck,” he whispers to himself as Y/N starts to move ahead of him, back to the table and he follows her feeling like the biggest loser ever.
Why is he so afraid of making a move? She’s all he’s been thinking about, they get along so well and everyone’s been telling him she wants him too. But still, that awful voice in the back of his head keeps reminding him there’s a chance she rejects him and everything would be ruined after that.
Defeated, they join the rest of the table again and they both can feel a wall sitting right between them. Harry keeps replaying the moment in his head, he thinks of everything he could have done not to mess up his chance, wishing he could go back in time and man up finally.
Soon enough the group moves to the darts boards as Niall and Liam start a match, the rest enjoying the show because Niall is known to be quite competitive in any and all sports.
Harry is standing by Y/N again, but there’s tension between them obviously and his mind is racing to find a way to ease the situation. Should he ask her to talk? Pretend like nothing happened? Or what if he just swung an arm around her right now? What if–
“Oh! You two!” Niall snaps him out of his thoughts, pointing at him and Y/N. “You’re standing under the mistletoe!”
They look up at the same time, checking that he did not lie, there really is a mistletoe hanging above them. Their gazes meet and the moment is back. Y/N is looking at him with hope tinkering in her eyes and Harry knows he can’t mess it up this time, but he needs just a few seconds to build up the courage, this is a big step and he…
He is taking too long. He sees the moment when Y/N is letting go and panic sets in, screaming at him to do something and then… he finally does. Just when Y/N turns her face in defeat he gently cups her cheek, turning it back and she sucks on her breath before he finally presses his lips to hers.
A lot happens around them, there’s whistling and clapping and Niall shouts something but it all tunes out to Harry, she is all he can sense. Her arms are quick to snake around his neck and his hands find their way to her waist, pulling her tight into his embrace, hoping he never has to let go of her.
All his fantasies about what kissing her would feel like vanish and he swears it’s all he has ever known, the touch of her soft lips, the way her tongue swirls against his, the warmth of her body pressed against his.
Their mistletoe kiss stretches long and neither of them really wants to end it, but reality pushes its way back into their bubble and the noise pops it. Pulling apart they stare at each other for a while before Y/N’s lips slowly break into a smile that Harry feels like wants to own forever. He can’t bear the thought of anyone else being the reason she smiles this way.
“Harry Styles finally grew some balls!” Niall shouts, completely stomping over the moment they just shared as they turn back to face their friends, arms still around each other.
“A Christmas miracle!” Jackie joins in on the teasing.
“Okay, okay! I get it!” Harry groans, not quite enjoying being in the center of attention.
Y/N’s arms have moved to circle around his abdomen and she gently squeezes him, grabbing his attention. The moment he looks at her smiling face he forgets about everything that’s making him uncomfortable.
Leaning down he presses a short, lingering kiss to her lips, replacing every word he ever wanted to tell her and she understands it all, happy to be finally speaking the same language.

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Sam trudged up the stairs to her apartment, sighing as she got her keys ready. She just got off a long shift and wanted nothing more than to just relax. She wasn’t big on Christmas, but she was looking forward to the time off and spending time with her sister, it had been a long time since they got to spend Christmas together. Sam doesn’t really count last year because there was still a lot of recovering from Ghostface going on. She knew this year wouldn’t be perfect, but she was hoping it might be better, maybe she and Tara could make new memories and Christmas could become something they enjoyed again. She knew she was part of Tara’s dislike of the holidays, first their dad left and then Sam left. Sam had a lot of make-up to do.
The college was already on winter break but given Sam’s job she hadn’t gotten to spend any time with her sister, she barely got started on her Christmas shopping. Chad and Mindy left the first day of break, which happened to be the day after Tara’s birthday. Sam was glad the twins got to spend Tara’s birthday with her, it ended up being a fun night. The next day they flew back to California to spend the break with their mom. They all agreed to do a Christmas together when the twins got back, which just meant Sam had more time to pick something good out for them. She was hoping to get a little input from Tara, she wanted to do something football related for Chad and horror related for Mindy but despite her father being a serial killer that spawned a popular horror franchise she didn’t know shit about horror.
Danny also flew back to his hometown to be with his parents. So, the only thing keeping Sam from getting to spend the holidays alone with her sister was you. As Sam’s keys jingled, unlocking her apartment, she heard what she had been hearing every day since the break started, you. You had been over every day since the break started. The only good thing was that most days you left and went back to your own apartment, not that it mattered because you stayed all night and then were back by morning, sometimes Sam was eating breakfast, and you were already there, knocking on the door. Sam was trying to be nice though, it was the holidays and she’d hopefully have Christmas Day just her and her sister.
When Sam pushed open the door, she saw you and Tara curled up on the couch watching a movie as you not so quietly talked to each other. Sam glanced at the TV to see Gremlins playing. “Gremlins?” she questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“Yeah!” You exclaimed, looking at her like it was the most obvious choice for them to be watching. “It’s the best Christmas movie.”
Sam was taken aback giving you a look like you had two heads. “How is-”
“Don’t,” Tara tried to warn her.
“That a Christmas movie?” Sam continued her question.
“Well, you see Samantha,” you started, earning a quick glare from Sam, she hated when someone called her Samantha. “Gizmo,” you pointed to the little fuzzy guy who was currently on the screen, “was a Christmas present.” You clasped your hands together as if you were presenting a project. “The whole movie takes place around Christmas time. They’re decorating the tree, making Christmas cookies, and the gremlins even dress up like carolers.” You let out a satisfied huff at the end of your reasoning.
“But people are attacked and some of them even die,” she tried to argue. She wasn’t sure why she was playing into your game.
“People are attacked in home alone, but everyone considers that a Christmas movie,” you fired back.
“But there’s no death!”
You scoffed, waving off the claim. “Gremlins only has off screen deaths, those don’t count. Also, all that shit Kevin did? Those two guys should have been dead.”
“Whatever,” Sam said shaking her head. She saw your reasoning and it was pretty logical, not that she’d ever tell you that. She still wasn’t sure if she’d considered it a Christmas movie.
Sam tossed her stuff down and made her way into the kitchen, opening the fridge to see what she could make for dinner. “Oh,” Tara called out from the kitchen. “Can Y/N stay for dinner?”
Sam sighed, closing the fridge, and moving to stand in the doorway. “Again?” Sam asked some of her annoyance from the week slipping in.
“Yeah?” Tara asked, turning to face Sam. “What’s the issue?” Tara wasn’t glaring at Sam, yet, but Sam could hear the slight annoyed tone. Tara always got that tone when she didn’t get her way, specifically when it came to you.
“They’ve been here an awfully lot this week,” Sam started, keeping her voice as neutral as possible.
“So? It’s Christmas break.”
“That doesn’t mean they have to spend every second of every day here.” Sam ran a frustrated hand through her hair. “They’re usually just leaving by the time I’m going to bed and then they’re back knocking on the door before I leave for work.”
“So what?” Tara was now on her feet, arms crossed and glaring at Sam. “You haven’t been home, and I don’t feel like spending all day alone. Who cares if they’re here all day?”
“Christmas is literally in a few days, is the plan for them to stay through Christmas as well?”
“Maybe!”
“No,” Sam snapped. She didn’t mean to be so harsh; all the weeks of stress have just been building up. She hadn’t expected an answer and the fact that Tara didn’t see a problem in you crashing their Christmas sent her over the edge. “That’s where I draw the line.”
“What are you saying?” Tara matched her sister’s anger. “I can’t spend Christmas with them? They’re not allowed to come over and see me?”
“I want one day! One day of just you and me! I figured Christmas could be that day. We could finally spend a Christmas together, just the two of us.”
“What about what I want?”
“Don’t they have a family to go see over Christmas and they want to spend time with?” Sam saw a flash of something in your eyes, but she was to focused on Tara to recognize what it was.
“God! You-”
“Actually,” you spoke softly cutting Tara off as you slowly rose to your feet, gently resting a hand on her arm. “I’m headed back home tomorrow.”
“What?” Tara whipped around. Sam almost got whiplash from how fast Tara went from angry to hurt. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
You shrugged. “I don’t know I was having fun with you; I didn’t want to ruin it.”
“You leave tomorrow?”
You nodded. “Yeah, but I’ll call you every day and I’m getting back the day after Christmas.”
Tara crossed her arms pouting. “I was hoping to give you your present on Christmas Day.”
“I’m sorry,” you looked at her sadly. “I wish I could give you yours Christmas Day as well, but we can do Christmas the day after, yeah?” You smiled, brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes. “Just me and you. Doesn’t that sound nice?”
“I guess.” Tara was still pouting but she seemed slightly less upset. “I still wish you would’ve had told me.”
“It’s not like it’s going to be fun. I’m not going to be doing anything, really.”
“Then why do you have to go?” Sam wanted to roll her eyes, of course Tara would try and convince you to not go to your families for Christmas.
“Spending time with family is important, right?” You raised your eyebrows, staring Tara down to make her agree with you. Sam didn’t know how you did it, you always got Tara to agree with you. If Sam had said any of the stuff you did, Tara would be nonstop, making nothing into a monstrous fight.
“Yeah,” Tara sighed. “I’m still going to miss you.”
“Me too,” you rest a hand on the side of her face, caressing her cheek. “Besides we still have tonight,” you looked up at Sam, silently asking her if that was still okay. Sam nodded; she could tolerate you one more night since it meant you wouldn’t be around for a few days.
“I guess,” Tara mumbled, wrapping her arms around your waist before burying her head in your shirt. You instantly wrapped your arms around her, pulling her in for a tighter hug. Sam wanted to roll her eyes, the two of you were acting like you weren’t going to see each other for months not a few days.
“Come on, lets finish the movie.” You kissed the top of Tara’s head, keeping one arm wrapped around her as you pulled away and led her back down to the couch.
**************************************
The next few days did not go as Sam had imagined. She had still been working crazy hours and after work she spent the night going from store to store searching for a present for Tara. She had a gift card at the ready to give to Tara, but she wanted something more personal. Tara had also been silently hostile towards her since you left. Sam was trying not to start anything; she was just hoping Tara’s mood would lighten by Christmas day. The only good thing was that Tara wasn’t actively seeking arguments with her, she was just pouting and giving Sam short responses. Every night Tara was on her phone either texting or talking to you. Sam knew it was young love or whatever, but you guys had just seen each other. She herself had barely talked to Danny since he left, they texted a few times but neither one of them was glued to their phone.
As she walked the streets of New York, searching for a shop she hadn’t already been in, something that would call to her, something that screamed Tara, she passed by a bakery. Sam stopped, looking in the window at all the Christmas themed baked goods, there were cakes decorated with snowflakes, cupcakes with little Santas, and various cookies decorated. Sam ripped open the door, stepped into the shop and purchased a dozen cookies. All the cookies looked great but before she could walk away from the window, she noticed some of them were decorated with characters or quotes from various Christmas movies.
As she continued to walk down the street, the box of cookies under her arm, she thought back to her childhood. Sam didn’t like thinking about her childhood, most of her memories were tainted by the lies of her mom, her dad leaving, the truth of her birth father, and the guilt she felt for leaving her sister. When she was younger and Tara was just a little kid who loved following her around things were good, they were happy. Christmas used to be a magical time for them, every Christmas eve they would spend the day baking cookies to leave out for Santa. A part of Sam wanted to bring that back, maybe not the leaving the cookies out for Santa part but the making their own cookies. Besides loving to eat the cookie dough, Sam remembered how big of a smile Tara had on her face, usually covered in flower, when they would make the cookies. Part of Sam worried about bringing it up to Tara, she knew Christmas wasn’t great after she left and Sam didn’t want to try and force old memories, just because she thought it’d be fun didn’t mean Tara would.
Sam sighed, she had been out a little later than usual and she hadn’t seen a single shop that seemed interesting. She was about to turn around when a life-size Wolfman figure caught her eye. She looked at the store front, seeing the windows filled with other movie related memorabilia and posters. She shrugged, deciding there was no harm in giving the little store a shot and opened the door. She knew it was the holidays, it was the day before Christmas eve and the store was closing soon so she was going to do a quick look around and see if anything jumped out at her.
The store was small but was stuffed full, wall to wall, ceiling to floor, there was product everywhere. There were posters, action fingers, DVD sets, a wide range of TV shows and movies. As Sam weaved her way through the rows of shelves she finally came to the register where there was a display case of collectibles. There seemed to be higher valued collectibles, things way out of her price range, but there were also knives and other weapons. The weapons were horror themed though, they were the same style from whatever movie they were from and then they had the villain of the movie etched into the blade. Sam’s eyes grazed over the Ghostface knife and landed on a Friday the 13th machete. The machete had Jason from different scenes etched all down the blade. Sam smiled at the old man behind the counter and pointed to the machete.
When Sam left the shop, she had some slight reservations about buying Tara a weapon. Luckily for her the man assured her the blade was dull and was meant to be a display piece more than anything. Sam made a note of where the shop was, she would have to take Tara there one day and she was tempted to come back and get the Michael Myers knife for Mindy as a gift.
As Sam juggled the box of cookies in one hand and Tara’s present in another, she caught a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye. She stopped dead in her tracks, turning to do a double take. Her mouth fell open, her brow furrowed as she watched you walk out of a pizza shop, pizza box in hand as you made your way in the direction of your dorm. Sam watched you from across the street, Tara hadn’t mentioned anything about you coming back to town early. Sam also hadn’t noticed any evidence of you being in the apartment since the night you left.
When Sam finally got back to the apartment, she kicked the door closed, making sure to hide the bag with Tara’s present. She heard Tara on the phone but paid her no attention as she rushed to her room to hide the present, dropping the box of cookies on the dining room table on the way. She quickly shoved Tara’s present in her closet, planning to wrap it before she went to bed, then made her way back out to the living room.
“Alright, night,” Tara said, smiling into her phone. “Have fun with your family and I can’t wait to see you when you get back.” Sam watched curiously as Tara waited for, Sam assumed you, to respond. “Love you too.” With that she hung up the phone and looked up at Sam with a confused look. “What?”
“Was that Y/N?” Sam questioned, turning her back to Tara to open the box of cookies.
“Yeah,” Tara sighed. Sam could see Tara’s pout without having to turn around.
“They still out of town visiting their parents?” Sam looked up, internally smacking herself, she was trying and failing at being subtle.
“Yeah.” She heard Tara leave the couch, her feet quietly shuffling as she made her way next to Sam. “Said it was kind of boring there and has only really been watching Christmas movies.” Sam could only hum in response, she couldn’t figure out why you didn’t go home for the holiday and more importantly she couldn’t figure out why you were lying to Tara about it. “Whatcha got there?” Tara nodded to the box.
Sam smiled, flipping open the lid of the box. “No way!” Tara said, reaching out and grabbing a cookie. “These are so cool. Where did you find them?” Tara mumbled through a mouth full of cookie.
Sam giggled, shaking her head at her sister. “Passed a bakery on the way home. Are they good?” Tara nodded, giving her a thumbs up.
Tara grabbed another cookie and plopped herself back down on the couch. Sam tapped her fingers against the dining room table, working up the courage to ask Tara what she wanted to. She grabbed a cookie, taking a bite as she sat in the chair next to the couch. She glanced at the TV to see Tara watching The Grinch.
“So…” Sam started off slowly, looking down at her cookie, it was a really good cookie. She flicked her eyes from Tara, who was already looking at her, to the TV, and back to Tara. “I get it if you don’t want to do it, but I was wondering if you wanted to make cookies tomorrow, like we used to do.”
Sam flicked her gaze from her cookie to Tara a few times, waiting for her sister to respond. Tara was looking down at her cookie, her brow furrowed as she was deep in thought. “We don’t have to,” Sam said softly, trying to reassure Tara that it was totally fine if she didn’t want to do it.
“No,” Tara said with a small head shake, finally looking at Sam again. “I’d like that actually, it sounds fun.”
“Great,” Sam smiled and turned her attention back to the TV. Which is how they spent the night, sitting in a peaceful silence, watching whatever Christmas movie popped up next.
***********************************
It was Christmas eve, Sam was off work, she had Tara’s present wrapped, they had plans to bake cookies later in the day, and everything was going perfectly just like Sam had always wanted. Sam couldn’t stop the nagging feeling at the back of her head though. She made breakfast for herself, and Tara and they were halfway through their second Christmas movie when she suddenly couldn’t take it anymore. Sam jumped to her feet, grabbed her keys, and walked to the door.
“I’ll be back,” she said, looking back at Tara before opening the door.
“Wait what,” Tara said, muting the TV. “Where are you going? I thought we were spending the day together?”
“We will, I just have to run out real quick, I forgot to pick something up.”
“I thought you wanted to make cookies,” Tara frowned.
“I do,” Sam smiled softly at her sister. “We will make them as soon as I get back. You’re going to like what I bring back.” Tara continued to pout. “Trust me, please, I promise you, you will love it.”
“Okay,” Tara mumbled quietly, curling up on the couch as she unmuted the TV.
Sam gave her sister one last look before rushing out the door. As a surprise to no one, the streets were bustling with people doing last-minute Christmas shopping. Sam pushed her way through the crowded streets, making her way to the college campus. There were hardly any students on campus, most having returned home for the holidays. Sam easily found her way to your building and up to your dorm room. She did a few quick knocks on your door, then bounced from foot to foot as she waited for you to answer.
The door was quickly flung open and standing before Sam was you, your mouth hung open, whatever you were about to say dying on your lips as you just stared at Sam. Sam bunched up her hands in her pockets, looking at you expectantly.
“What are you doing here?” you finally asked.
“What are you doing here?” Sam asked back, a little harsher than she intended. She couldn’t help it, you had a habit of just annoying her without even doing anything, she knew she had to work on that.
“I live here,” you said confused.
“Why are you lying to Tara?” Sam crossed her arms. “Why did you say you were going back home?”
You let out a defeated sigh. “You wanted Christmas to be the two of you,” you shrugged. “I didn’t want to intrude or ruin your Christmas.”
Sam’s eyes fell to the floor, it was so hard to dislike you when you were so considerate. You were kind of an asshole and Sam’s dislike was warranted half the time but deep down you were sweet. “Why didn’t you go home? Don’t your parents want to spend Christmas with you?”
You scoffed, refusing to meet Sam’s eyes as you looked down at the floor. “My parents haven’t spent Christmas at home since I was thirteen and deemed old enough to not burn the house down when left alone.” Sam frowned, she knew you didn’t talk about your parents much, Tara had said they weren’t super active in your life, but she didn’t realize how distant they actually were. “I don’t even know where they are right now,” you shrugged. “Somewhere warm.”
“Let’s go,” is all Sam said, turning to leave.
“Wait what?” you leaned half your body out the door.
Sam turned around, rolling her eyes at you. “Grab whatever you need and come on,” she waved her hand impatiently. “You’re spending Christmas with us.”
“Nononono,” you shook your head. “You don’t have to do that. I’m fine.”
“Get your shit and come on,” she snapped.
You quickly shut your mouth, ran back into your dorm, and came out with two presents in less than a minute. You silently walked behind Sam as she led the way back to the apartment. She never thought she’d say it, but it was actually unsettling how quiet you were being. When the two of you got back to the apartment, she went in first, tossing her keys on the table before closing the door behind you.
“What did you have to get?” Tara asked, not taking her eyes off the TV. Sam didn’t answer, making Tara look up, her eyes becoming confused when she saw you but quickly lit up. “What are you doing here?” she jumped up, running, and crashing into you for a hug. Sam shook her head; it hadn’t even been a week since you were here and yet Tara was acting like it was a lifetime.
“I never had plans to go to my parents,” you admitted, dropping your eyes to the floor in shame.
“What?” Tara asked, there was no anger in her voice, only confusion.
“They aren’t big on Christmas; I never spend it with them. I didn’t want to intrude and ruin Christmas for you guys,” you looked back at Sam. “And I didn’t tell you because I didn’t want you to feel bad, I knew you’d try and convince me to join you guys.”
Tara lightly punched you in the shoulder before pulling you in for another hug. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled into your neck.
Once Tara and you separated, the two of you followed Sam into the kitchen. Sam grabbed the ingredients and the three of you made cookie dough. You and Tara threw flour at each other, making a mess and though Sam would usually be annoyed she couldn’t help but laugh along with you guys. She’s pretty sure the three of you ate more of the cookie dough than you used to make cookies. When there were finally enough cookies to fill the tray, they popped them into the oven and moved to the living room, popping on another Christmas movie as they waited for the cookies to be ready.
When the oven dinged, you and Tara raced to the kitchen, nearly forgetting oven mitts as you moved to pull the cookies out. Sam had to push the two of you back before the two of you started grabbing the cookies off the hot tray before they had the chance to cool. She shooed the two of you back to the living room, forcing you both to wait for the cookies to cool before you all started eating and decorating them. With how excited the two of you were Sam wasn’t sure you guys would be able to wait to start decorating, you and Tara would probably eat all the cookies plain.
That’s how the three of you spent the rest of the night. You all decorated cookies together at the dining room table, eating cookies in the processes. Sam was focused on her decorating but every time she looked up, she saw you licking icing off your fingers, she wasn’t sure if you ever finished decorating one cookie. When all the cookies were eaten or decorated the three of you retired to the living room, Sam taking her usual spot in the chair while you and Tara cuddled up on the couch.
**********************************
Sam woke up Christmas morning to the smell of something delicious cooking. She rubbed her eyes, frowning at who could possibly be cooking so early. It wasn’t that Tara was a bad cook, she had to learn to cook after Sam left but she had never made anything smell this good. Sam couldn’t judge though; it wasn’t like she was a master chef either, she knew how to make enough things to allow them to survive and give them some variety, but they still did takeout the majority of the time.
Sam ran a hand through her hair as she walked down the hall and into the kitchen, she stopped, blinking a few times to try and clear her vision, she couldn’t believe what she was seeing, you were in her kitchen, cooking, and it smelled good. Sam looked around, seeing you were making use of the entire stove, cooking eggs, bacon and sausage, and pancakes at the same time. You flipped three pancakes onto a plate that already had a few, before pouring more batter into the pan, making three more pancakes.
“Morning,” you said, when you finally saw Sam. You kept your pace though, sprinkling cheese across the eggs before flipping it over, creating an omelet, then added more cheese on top. “We got pancakes,” you gestured to the plate beside you. “And eggs,” you gestured to the pan in front of you, before sliding the omelet onto a plate when the cheese was sufficiently melted. “And bacon and sausage,” you pointed to the other pan that was sizzling. “What would you like?”
Sam blinked a few times, still processing the site in front of her, it was just breakfast food, but everything looked so good, perfect almost, nothing was burnt. “An omelet, please,” Sam said, finally finding her voice.
You nodded, cracking another two eggs into the pan. “You guys didn’t have a ton of options but let me know what you want in it.”
Sam looked across the counter at the options, there was actually more than she thought there would be. “Just tomato and spinach.”
You gave a quick thumbs up before flipping the pancakes. You grabbed another plate, dumping all the bacon and sausage onto it. Tara came in, grabbing the plate of bacon and sausage and two separate plates with omelets.
“Morning,” Tara mumbled, taking the plates to the dining room table.
“Morning,” Sam replied, still watching you cook. She watched as you added the veggies to her omelet, flipped the omelet and added more cheese and veggies to the top of it. You flipped the pancakes onto the plate, Tara at your side the instant you were done and already taking the plate to the table. You quickly finished the omelet, sliding it onto a plate and holding it out to Sam with a smile.
Sam looked from the omelet up to you and back down to the omelet. She hesitantly took the plate but had to admit it looked just as good as everything else. “You can cook?” she couldn’t help but ask.
You just shrugged, turning off the stove as you followed Sam into the dining room. Sam set her plate down, taking a seat and got a full look at the table. The plate of pancakes, sausage and bacon, and a plate of toast was already laid out in the middle of the table.
“They can cook breakfast at least,” Tara said, shoving a fork full of omelet into her mouth. “Everything else, that’s debatable.” You scoffed, stabbing your fork into Tara’s omelet, and stealing a bite, she quickly slapped your hand, throwing a grumpy glare at you, making you chuckle.
“Thanks,” Sam said, looking down at the omelet.
You shrugged again. “It was the least I could do.”
Sam took a small bite of her omelet, and it was amazing, she hated how good of a cook you were. She almost wanted to say you could spend the night any night as long as you made breakfast in the morning. The three of you sat in a comfortable silence eating breakfast, slowly waking up the rest of the way. By the time you were all done almost everything was gone, except for a couple pancakes left over. Sam sighed, she hadn’t had breakfast that good in a long time, the diner she worked at didn’t even make breakfast that good.
The three of you moved into the living room, grabbing presents from under the little tree the sisters had put up. Tara and Sam exchanged gifts and then you handed Tara a little wrapped box, Sam was silently praying that it wasn’t a ring again. Her mouth fell opening as she looked up at you with questioning eyes when you handed her a present as well.
“Why is hers bigger?” Tara questioned, whipping her head around to look at you, holding the present she had gotten you out of reached.
You just chuckled at her. “Yours is more expensive?” you offered.
She narrowed her eyes at you but handed you the present. You happily took it, giving her a quick kiss. Without wasting any time Tara was ripping into the present you had gotten her. When she was done, she held a small jewelry box in her hand, it wasn’t a ring box though. Breakfast was good but if you had gotten Tara another ring Sam probably would have killed you. Tara lifted the lid, letting out a light gasp at the sight, she lifted the item out of the box to reveal a necklace. The necklace had a silver chain connected to a silver pendant with her birthstone in the center, it matched the ring you had gotten for her birthday. Sam might have hated the ring at first, but she had to admit you had good taste in jewelry. Tara held out the necklace for you, moving her hair so you could place it around her neck.
“It’s beautiful,” she whispered, pulling you in for a long kiss, acting as if Sam wasn’t still sitting right there. “Thank you.”
Tara then ripped into her present from Sam, letting out an exciting gasp at the machete. “This is awesome!” she held up the machete, a crazy look in her eye. Your eyes widened, instantly going to Sam, silently asking her if she was serious.
“It’s not sharp,” Sam quickly said. She could see you physically relax as she calmed your fears.
Tara pouted a little at the new knowledge but still twirled the machete in her hand, looking closely at the etching. “This is so cool,” Tara said again. “Thank you.”
You opened your present from Tara, jumping to your feet to reveal two videogames. Sam had no idea what the games were, but you were acting like a little kid, so she assumed her sister did a pretty good job. “Thanks babe,” you said, giving Tara a quick kiss, making her blush.
It was Sam’s turn; she slowly opened her present from Tara. “Holy shit,” she whispered as she took out the little box. Tara had gotten her ear buds, she had been looking at a pair forever because she wanted some for when she went for a run or to the gym, but she could never pull the trigger, they were always too expensive for her to justify. “Thank you.”
As Sam started to unwrap the box you had gotten her, she caught a mischievous smirk on your face. Sam almost paused her movements; she couldn’t even imagine what you had gotten her let alone what would cause that kind of smile on your face. Sam undid the rest of the wrapping paper, looking down at the box in front of her, she blinked a few times before glaring at you. You were smiling widely, nearly bouncing up in down in your seat.
“You’re an ass,” is all Sam said. She turned the box, revealing Woodsboro Monopoly, making you break out into laugh. Tara quickly slapped you but there was a small smile tugging at her lips as well.
“I’m sorry,” you said through laughter. “I couldn’t help myself,” you were practically wheezing. “I’ve had that for months.”
Sam couldn’t help but join in, lightly laughing at the game. “You know we did never get to finish our game.”
Your eyes lit up. “Yes!” you pumped a fist into the air.
“But I get to be the knife,” Sam said in a serious voice.
“Well, I’d expect nothing less.” Sam glared at your light jab. “I want to be the phone though.”
Tara groaned, rolling her eyes. “This means we have to suffer through another game of Monopoly,” she mumbled.
You gasped in offense. “It’s not my fault we were rudely interrupted last time,” you said.
Sam shook her head as she listened to you and Tara argued back and forth. Tara might hate monopoly, but it was only a matter of time before she conceded. You would probably even convince her to wait for the twins to be back and would probably drag Danny over and force everyone to play the new version they now had for game night. Sam relaxed into her chair, watching as you and Tara argued with smiles, you were slowly growing on her, not that she’d ever tell you that.
After presents the rest of the day was uneventful. The three of you just spent a lazy day lounging in the apartment, watching Christmas movies on TV again, even though you all had seen all of them within the last few days. When night finally came, Tara was curled into your side, your arm wrapped tightly around her as she was sound asleep with her head resting on your shoulder.
“Night,” Sam whispered, getting up to head to bed herself.
“Wait, Sam,” you called out, looking back but making sure not to turn enough to disturb Tara. Sam stopped in the doorway, looking back at you. “Thank you,” you whispered, dropping your eyes for a second before meeting hers again. “I really appreciate you inviting me over. This has really meant a lot.”
Sam nodded. “You’re always welcome here.” She looked away from you, opening and closing her mouth a few times. “Sorry, I kicked you out earlier.” You gave her a soft smile, shrugging lightly. “You’re now expected to join us every year,” she said in an annoyed tone, but you laughed, catching the playfulness underneath.
Sam went to bed that night with a smile. She had wanted Christmas day with just her and her sister but you joining them ended up making it better than she could have imagined. This ended up being the best Christmas she ever had, and Tara would probably agree with her. It seemed the cycle of tainted memories and disappointing Christmas’s were over; she was more than happy to make new memories with Tara and was even okay with you being in those new memories now.
You still annoyed the hell out of her, but she didn’t miss the way you brought a lightness to the group, even after everything that happened, even though you were still struggling, you managed to still find the humor in things. If Sam was being honest with herself, she was now looking forward to you joining her and Tara or the group for holidays, birthdays, and other big events. If anyone asked her if she were happy, you were there, she would deny it but inside, she was happy to have you around.

➤ find something worth saving (it's all for the taking)
CHAPTER FIVE: GOOD OLD-FASHIONED LOVER BOY
← back to chapter list
SUMMARY ↳ Spider-Man and homecoming, when did that ever end well? He clears his throat. “May I… have this dance?” You stare at him dumbly for a second, making him nervous. “W-What?” Well said. “Well, I can’t dance with you during homecoming, so… let’s dance now.” His face is set in an adorable determination. Your heart soars. pairing: jon kent x gn!reader x damian wayne warnings: fear gas (people get affected but it's not described), spiking drinks (not with the intention of taking advantage of anyone) wc: 5.9k
Your mind is elsewhere as you perform your warm-up stretches in the dance studio. Progress with the particle accelerator had been slow. Tony Stark had access to all the materials he needed when he built it, but you don’t. Not to mention all of the welding, cutting and assembling you’ll have to do. You're occupied in your thoughts, but you still hear footsteps approaching.
Victoria. She has her hands on her hips and is looking at you like you’re the nasty chore she’s stuck with.
You raise a brow. “Yes, Vicky?”
Despite all of her faces of disgust when you call her that, she hasn’t demanded you stop calling her that.
“I don’t know why I expected you to be paying attention, clearly you are too airheaded otherwise,” she huffs.
“You’re right, dearest, I wasn’t paying attention. Please, enlighten me.”
“Our instructor has just announced a winter performance. For a grade, of course.”
You sigh. “Of course.”
“We,” she drags the word out, disgruntled, “are the leads.”
Your lips quirk up into a smile. “Oh. This’ll be fun.”
“I will not let you embarrass me, so I will make sure you are a suitable lead,” she huffs.
“And how do you plan to do that, my dear?” you sing, circling her. Your fingers tap her arms as you walk.
She clears her throat. “I will make sure you are paying well attention and are performing adequately.”
“Sounds good to me, princess,” you say, walking away and extending a hand to her. “Shall we?”
She sighs dramatically and puts her hand in yours. It’ll be a long couple of months.
Your extended leg rocks your web hammock back and forth as you think. A song is hummed under your breath, pondering your next move.
“How far is Metropolis from Gotham?”
“Depending on your method of travel, it could range from an hour to 4 hours.”
You have no doubt LexCorp is very well protected in terms of its security measures, but Lex Luther seems a bit of an arrogant man. If he were to find out you had managed to break in and swipe some material, he might not do anything in embarrassment of being had. On the other hand, he is also pretty paranoid, so you have no idea what type of crazy defenses he has.
WayneTech is a very hesitant maybe, for pretty much the same reasons. Batman will already be on alert from your little hacking show earlier.
“Perhaps we shall simply wait for the opportunity to present itself to us, [Name].”
“We’re trying to leave as soon as we can, K,” you whine, bouncing a web ball back and forth between the wall and you.
“You can’t rush perfection.”
“Oh, you flatter me, K.” You lean over and fall out of the hammock, landing gracefully. “But I can never argue with you, lovely. I guess I’ll just have to make due with stuff from the school.” Hopefully they don’t notice the decline of materials.
Patrol goes smoothly that night. You've gone back to listening to your certified patrol playlist now that you’ve gotten back in the groove of things. You hum to a beat as you walk alongside the roof, grooving slightly. You run through equations and formulas in your head as you think about your next headway with your project. You still notice the footsteps approaching, though.
“Which one are you?” you announce, shifting slightly. You don’t get an answer, so you turn around. The figure standing behind you is shrouded in darkness, but a glint of moonlight reveals a familiar silhouette.
“Nightwing!” you hum pleasantly. “Pleasure, quite a pleasure. To what do I owe the visit?”
Nightwing shrugs. “Standard stuff, really. Making sure Gothams latest pest problem isn’t up to no good.”
You chuckle. “That was pretty good.” You sit down on the ledge. “I assure you, blue, that I have Gotham’s best interest in mind.”
“Well I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that Gotham likes you, for the most part.” Nightwing sits next to you. “Of course, the webs you leave irk them just a bit.”
“They dissolve,” you defend.
“They do,” he agrees, and lets the conversation die. Distant sounds of sirens fill the silence. You can see the blue and red lights from here. You and Nightwing share a moment of calm amidst the chaos.
“Every time I think Gotham can’t get any weirder, I hear news of a ‘giant spider’ terrorizing the criminal underworld.”
You snort, “yeah, that was my bad. I totally had rumors spread about that.” You can see his eyebrow raise underneath his domino. “It was funny!”
“I guess Gotham attracts all kinds of people,” he hums.
“And yet… it’s home,” you whisper.
Another brief silence settled between you, tinged with unspoken tension that always sneaks up on you in Gotham.
“So, did the big Bat put you up to this?” you ask, breaking the quietude.
Nightwing shrugs casually. “Nah, this is all me. Don’t worry though, I’m sure B will corner you eventually.”
“Charming,” you huff dryly against his chuckle.
“And of course, crime never sleeps in Gotham.”
“And so, neither do we,” you smile.
He turns to you. “Surely someone as young as you should be getting more sleep?”
You hum. “So Robin told you about little ole me, huh?” He shrugs sheepishly, in a can you blame him? kind of way. “Like I told him, I’ve been doing this for years.”
“So what’s a young person like you doing spending your nights fighting crime?”
You scoff, “oh, don’t give me that. The first Robin was barely out of diapers when Batman paraded him around.” You ignore Nightwings dramatic gasp of offense. “I’m doing the same as you, trying to make a difference.”
“But no one would blame you for just trying to live a normal life in spite of your abilities.” You’re not sure what exactly Nightwing is trying to achieve here other than getting you to spill something about yourself. What’s it to him what you do in your free time?
‘Yeah well, someone once told me something. Kind of changed my life a little.” You take a deep breath and recite the famous spidey quote, “With great power comes great responsibility.” You turn to face Nightwing. “I can’t in good faith live a normal life when there are people that need me. I have the power to help people, why wouldn’t I do just that?”
You hope your speech passes whatever test he had for you, and the way he stares at you before nodding suggests that you did.
“Just…” he hesitates. “... be careful out there. Gotham’s a tough place, even for someone with your talents.”
You’re not sure why he cares so much, but Dick Grayson does have a sort of a bleeding heart. You watch Nightwing stand, nodding at you before grappling away. It was nice to not have a more violent encounter with one of the Bats (looking at you, Damian). You’re left with the quiet of your own mind.
The next few weeks are a whirlwind of dance rehearsals and lab work. Victoria, true to her word, pushes you hard. She ensures every step, every movement is perfect. You can’t help but admire her dedication.
“Remember,” she snaps one day during a particularly grueling practice, “lean into the spin. It will further your momentum, making your performance overall smoother.”
“Yes, ma’am,” you smirk. Your classmates take notice of the way the two of you dance around each other. You’re sure you both appear really intense to them.
One new development you’ve reluctantly acknowledged is homecoming . You don’t care much for it, you’d rather spend it working on the badassium or patrolling. However, it’s a good way to sneak in and take some more material, so you’ll probably show up for a bit then sneak away. You just have to get through all of the sickeningly sweet hoco proposals.
In other news, you’ve finished your painting that you were assigned for art. You stole one of Miles’ designs from his spray-paint pieces, you hope he won’t mind. It’s a figure outlined many times in all kinds of vivid and bright colors.
“What is it?” Pipes up Damian from your side. Lately you haven’t really interacted much, you’re far too busy trying to make this universe's history books.
“My project,” you reply vaguely. At his unimpressed stare you elaborate, “it’s supposed to be a bunch of different versions of one person. Different people living the same life, one person living different lives, yadda yadda.”
Damian hums, satisfied. You take a breath, spinning in your chair to face him. “So, Damian,” you start, smiling at the way Damian’s face automatically scrunches in irritation. “Anyone special in mind for hoco?”
Damian tsk’s at the thought. “I will not waste my time indulging in such a frivolous activity.”
“Yeah, spiked punch and sweaty teens grinding on each other probably isn’t your vibe,” you agree.
“Then what better things do you plan on doing?” You rest your legs on his side of the table, invading his space. He ignores it, to his credit. He’s gotten used to your antics.
“Doing something far away from you.” You bark out a laugh at his response. You retract your legs and massage your feet. For all your super strength and resilience, ballet is still killer.
Damian eyes your movements. “How are your dance classes progressing?” Damian’s gotten better at conversing, you’re just surprised he chooses to do so with you. But then again, you’re sure he still thinks you’re the number one suspect as to who Spinnerette is.
“Victoria is a delight, as always,” you roll your eyes. “She’s more of a teacher to me than the actual instructor. She’s thorough though, knows her stuff.” You pause. “Think she’ll say yes if I ask her to hoco?”
His eyes narrow. “You jest.”
You close your eyes and nod. “I jest. I stand no chance because she’s waiting for you to ask her,” you grin, eyeing his eye roll. You furrow your brow in thought. “They accept people from other schools, right? Maybe I’ll ask Jon…”
He straightens in his seat. “Jon?”
“Oh yeah, you guys are friends, forgot.” You didn’t forget. “Yeah, we’ve been hanging out lately.” It’s true, Jon frequents at least once a week for movie night. You’ve also exchanged numbers, affectionately naming him ‘please get this boy some brown contacts’ in your phone. “You think he’d say yes?”
“Do not even think about asking him,” growls Damian. Woah.
You hold up your hands in defense. “My bad dude, didn’t know it was like that.” Jeez, it’s not like you're going to corrupt Jon or anything. Then, you slump in your seat. “Maybe I’ll just skip it, then. Going alone is only cool if you’re cool.”
“If it means so little to you, why bother?”
“Opportunities, D. It’s all about opportunities. Plus, who knows? I could be missing out on the chance for something big. Like my rich future spouse.” Damian scoffs, and the bell rings. You grab your stuff and set off to practice, Damian falling into step beside you. You groan.
“Come on, man. Vicky’ll put me through hell when she see you with me.”
‘Maybe that’s my plan,” he smirks.
“One moment of peace with you. That's all I want.” Predictably, Victoria’s eyes narrow when Damian drops you off at the studio. However, she doesn’t waste time fluttering her eyelashes at him.
“Hurry, get dressed,” she demands, turning away from you two. You share a look of surprise with Damian as you step inside. Perhaps this show is more important to her than you thought. You get changed in record time, hurrying back out lest you encourage Victoria’s wrath further.
The hour passes in a blur of graceful movements. Your hands grasp Victoria’s waist as you lift and spin her. She spreads her arms and legs with all the elegance of a true dancer. You wonder if she wasn’t set to inherit whatever her parent’s set aside for her, would she have pursued a career in dance?
“You’re getting the hang of it,” she admits, a hint of begrudging approval in her voice.
“Only because of you,” you flirt, smiling with your teeth. She rolls her eyes but says nothing.
A knock sounds on the door. The instructor gets a giddy grin on her face and practically hops over to open in. You and the rest of the students stop practicing in curiosity. Behind the door is your typical jock type, with a bouquet and a poster in his hands that says ‘Will you PLIÉse go to Hoco with me?’ It’s clever, you’ll give him that.
“Victoria Hearst, will you do me the honor of going to homecoming with me?” Your classmates clap and cheer in awe of it. Victoria gasps, walking up to the jock, but pausing. To your huge surprise, she turns to you. Her eyebrows are furrowed, like she’s confused.
You’re not sure why she’s looking at you. Maybe she’s waiting for your approval? You can’t think of why she would want it. Personally you wouldn’t be caught dead with his type, but maybe he’s sweet on the inside or something. You give a smile and gesture her forward.
She purses her lips, before smiling charmingly at the boy, nodding. The class erupts in cheers once again as the pair hug. The instructor, for all her giddiness earlier, quickly snaps at everyone to go back to their places. Practice continues well into the evening. You get a small wave from Victoria when you depart home, a pleasant surprise.
You end up outfit shopping with Jon the day before homecoming. The boutique you’re in isn’t too fancy, even though you can afford more with Bruce Wayne’s ever so gracious stipend.
“Maybe I should wear blue, the same shade as your eyes. I like them,” you mutter, thinking. Nothing here particularly catches your eye. You suppose you shouldn’t care so much, it makes no difference to you. Besides, you won’t be spending much time at the dance anyway, you’ve got material to steal after all. But Tony has instilled the art of appearances into you, and you don’t want to disgrace his teachings.
Jon gulps beside you, still not used to your random flirting's despite the fact it’s been weeks. “I thought you had a thing for hot pink?” he asks as you pick up some simple heeled dress shoes.
“Yeah, but I’m not going for a bold look this time around.” You place your hands on your hips. “Maybe just plain old black is the way to go,” you say, grabbing a black suit off the rack and examining it. You hang it over your arm, deciding that it will be the way to go. It’ll be easier to hide in the crowd when you look like the rest of ‘em. “Now, for accessories…” you mutter, looking at the earrings on display. You pick up some faux emerald studs and examine them.
“I like this ring,” Jon pipes up. You turn around and see he’s holding a simple flowery ring with a blue gemstone in it. You hold out a hand and he slips the band onto your ring finger. It looks at home.
“Looks good,” you agree. You pack up the earrings, ring and the suit and take it to the register. You pay for it and Jon picks up the bag for you. What a gentleman.
The walk back to your apartment is filled with mindless chatter between the two of you. Nari greets you when you open the door, meowing real cutely. You press a bunch of kisses on his skull, because he deserves them. Jon places the bag on your couch.
“Well, since I’m not allowed to ask you the hoco, I’ll try it on just for you, yeah?”
Jon blinks. “Not allowed?”
“I mentioned it to Damian, and he made it very clear I was not allowed to take you.” You lean in and whisper in his ear, “between you and me, I think it’s because he wants to ask you.”
Jon snorts. “I doubt that,” he mumbles, watching you go to your bedroom to change. “I would have had to say no anyway, I’m… busy that day.”
“Well, I guess I was saved from an awkward moment,” you holler through the door. You make sure you look clean and put together before stepping out. You spread your arms and do a twirl.
“Well?” you ask.
Jon’s mouth is ever so slightly agape. His eyes seem to sparkle a little as he looks at you. Blue meets blue when he stares at the ring on your finger. You watch as he stands up, walking over to you.
He clears his throat. “May I… have this dance?”
You stare at him dumbly for a second, making him nervous. “W-What?” Well said.
“Well, I can’t dance with you during homecoming, so… let’s dance now.” His face is set in an adorable determination. Your heart soars.
You chuckle, abashed. He holds out his hand for you, waiting.
“Oh, wait!” you gasp. You dash over to your laptop, opening youtube. Jon watches as your fingers dash over the keyboard. ‘Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy’ fills your apartment. The song has always reminded you of him. You race back to Jon, finally putting your hand in his. He quickly pulls you close to him.
“Queen?” he chuckles, placing his hands on your waist. You throw your hands over his shoulders, scoffing. “Nothing wrong with Queen.”
“No,” he agrees, swaying with you. You spend the rest of the evening together.
Walking into the academy’s gym, you’re immediately blasted with loud music and colorful lights. Everyone is looking quite dapper, but like you suspected, a bunch of black suits. You fit right in.
You sip a bit of the punch, grimacing. Nobody spiked it yet? You’re surprised. Yeah, this is a prestigious school or whatever, but teenagers will be teenagers. You guess they’re all too pussy to do it. No worries, you’ll do it for them.
“I don’t believe this is wise,” says Karen as you pour some alcohol into the bowl. “It’s only a little amount,” you reassure. “Drunk people are less likely to notice things.”
You observe the people of your school. They’ve long gotten used to your presence, hesitantly making room for you. Still, you aren’t really a part of them. You sigh. You know you sound like a broken record, but you really have to get back home. The last time someone stayed on an Earth not their own was Miguel, and well… you know how that ended.
In other news, you’ve spotted Victoria! She looks real pretty, all dolled up. Her hands grip a cup of punch as she stands next to whats-his-face. He’s chatting with his jock friends, completely ignoring her! Hell no, you’re not gonna let that slide.
You wait for his friends to go away before sneaking up on him. “You better dance with her, asshole.” It’s satisfying to see him jump and look around to see who said that, but you already walked away. He scratches his head, before walking over to Victoria. It’s satisfying to see her face light up as they walk to the dance floor. Your job here is done.
You find your way to the gym doors, peaking into the hallways. No one’s there, surprisingly. You scurry down the hall. You visit the lab first, swiping any and all things you think you might need. The blueprints left behind by Howard Stark are kind of obscure. They weren’t meant for anybody but Tony, after all.
Next you make headway to your engineering workshop. Seeing it now, it looks pretty spooky without the lights on. You walk into the storage closet where all the materials and parts are kept. It’s actually pretty big. You think you might be in Heaven. You set your backpack down and go through everything. You stuff various metals and scrap into it, tools and switches, fans and whatnot. Then, you spot it. A glass chamber, hidden in the corner.
You grab it carefully, examining it. It’s the perfect size for your nanite chamber! You grin. You have no idea why there’s a big glass tube just in here, but hey, you’re not complaining. You carefully make room for it in your bag, hauling it over your shoulder. You poke your head out in the hallway, no one’s there. You sigh, content with your scavenge. Humming under your breath, you make your way out of the school.
behind you right behind you grabbing yOU–!
You turn around quickly, eyes wide. You just looked around, there was no one there! A hand lays outstretched in the air before you. Your eyes travel up the offender's arm and meet green. Damian. Of course.
“I thought you didn’t have time for such frivolous activities,” you blurt, for lack of something better to say. You grip your bag strap tight.
“Who else would keep an eye on you?” he grunts. You coo, “do I attract your eye, then?” Performing a spin, you miss the way he looks you up and down.
He reaches out and flicks your emerald earring. “Tell me why I shouldn’t report you for theft,” he says as he gestures to your bag.
“Because I’m… awesome?” you try. It doesn’t work, clearly. Damian’s looking at you like you’re the very epitome of ‘human disaster’. “It’s for my personal project, lay off.”
Damian steps closer to you, and you finally have the time to really take him in. He’s got a simple dress shirt covered by a black vest. Dress pants, dress shoes, all looking very expensive. An elegant satin green tie pulls it all together. You hum appreciatively as you look him up and down.
“And what exactly does this ‘project’ entail?” he murmurs, grasping your hand and examining the ring. Flirting with you to get you to spill? Smooth.
“You like it?” you ask, referring to the ring. “Jon chose it.”
Damian furrows his brow immediately, looking at you. You grin. “He said he liked it on me, specifically.”
Damian huffs, dropping your hand. “I’m not building a world-ending weapon or anything. I’m allowed my hobbies,” you say, laying a hand on his chest as a way to calm him. “Honest.”
He looks into your eyes for a moment, opening his mouth to speak–
BOOM .
The ground rumbles, Damian grabbing you and you grabbing him. You stay locked together as you stand still, listening. Screams erupt, coming from the gym. Damian pushes you towards safety in a nearby janitor’s closet.
“Stay here, lock the door,” is all he says before running off towards the gym, no doubt planning to save the day as Robin. Way to be subtle.
Karen already knows what to do, letting the suit emerge from your bracelets under your sleeves. You sprint towards the gym, opening the doors silently. People are hiding behind and under tables, whimpering. There’s a gaping hole at the end of the gym, no doubt the loud explosion you heard earlier.
The one and only Scarecrow stands in the settling dust. He sure lives up to his name, that costume is frighteningly ugly. He raises his arms, canisters in hand, and throws them into the crowd. They explode with a hiss, releasing plumes of noxious gas. Hell. No.
You spring into action, webbing the canisters to try and block the spread of the fear gas quickly. A few gasps are heard from the students. You turn to them. “The fuck are you waiting around, for? Run!” They heed your call, quickly finding their way to the doors on the other side of the gym. Scarecrow tries to throw a canister at the running crowd, so you quickly web it, sticking it to the wall.
“You cannot save them,” he taunts, gesturing to the few students that still got hit with the fear gas. “Their fears will consume them, just as yours will consume you.” Ah, right. You are standing right in the middle of where his first cans exploded. Time to find out if your suit blocks the fumes.
A batarang appears, knocking Scarecrow's canisters out of his hands. Robin, the man himself, lands next to you. You can’t help but quip, “I thought such a prestigious school wouldn’t be so easy to break into?”
“It isn’t,” is Robin’s dry reply.
“Well, looks like someone missed the memo,” you retort, eyes locked on Scarecrow. You survey your surroundings, there’s still some lingering kids, plus the one’s victimized by the fear gas. “Handle him, I’ll get them out of here,” you command. Robin nods in understanding.
You jump away, quickly webbing up the fear gassed victims so they don’t hurt anyone or themselves. They scream and trash, making you wince and mutter rushed apologies. You kick up a table, depositing them behind it. Robin is holding his own against Scarecrow efficiently.
A couple of rushed whispers escape you as you encourage the leftover students to follow you out. You guide them, ducking under tables until you reach the doors. You breathe, the only one left is–
Victoria. Where’s her date? Did he leave her to save himself? Asshole, you swear. You call for her. “Hey!”
She turns to you, looking worse for wear. Her makeup is running down her face, carefully tied hair now loose in disarray. Poor girl. She runs over to you, tripping into your arms. “It’s okay,” you whisper as you usher her to the exit.
“Spinner!” Robin yells. You turn around in time to deflect a throwaway can of fear gas. Victoria whimpers in your arms. “It’s alright, Vicky,” you say breathlessly. The last you see of her is her wide eyes as you shut the door.
Scarecrow growls in frustration. “You!” he points at you. “Why are you not affected!?”
A clawed finger clinks against your mask as you tap it. “My suit’s really cool like that.” Thank God , you weren’t sure if it would repel the gas. With a flick of your wrist, you send a web at Scarecrow to restrain him. He dodges, just barely.
“Or maybe I’m just already living my worst nightmare: a villain with a bad fashion sense,” you quip, weaving around. “Now let’s wrap this up before I start critiquing your escape plan.” You launch a web up at the ceiling, letting it carry you up. More webs grasp at Scarecrow, tugging him to you. Robin watches as you tie him up, Scarecrow flailing uselessly in the air.
You ignore his speeches about how ‘fear is eternal’ and ‘you’re delusional if you think you can stop it’ in favor of dropping him to the floor, roughly. You land next to him, leaning down and dragging him with you to the hole in the wall. “I’ll leave you here as my thanks to the GCPD.”
Robin comes to a stop next to you. “Call me corny, but you and I make a pretty good team, no?” you say, crossing your arms as you look at him.
“Do not flatter yourself, I did most of the fighting.”
You snort. “Yeah, but I got him in the end, didn’t I?” Robin shakes his head. “I’m just surprised you’re not shriveled up in fear like the rest of them.”
Robin crosses his arms. “I am capable of holding my breath.” Your mind wanders to inappropriate trains of thought, making you grin. The sound of sirens get closer, signaling the approach of the GCPD, and probably the other Bats as well.
“Well, I get terrible police anxiety, you know how it is,” you say, taking steps out of the hole. Robin follows you out. “Bye,” you say, before swinging away. You round the building, letting the suit retract back into your bracelets. You enter through a back door, avoiding cameras. You quickly straighten out your ruffled appearance, making your way to the gym. Some students are lingering around on their phones, either showing each other what they recorded or calling somebody to pick them up.
You pass Victoria on the way. She’s holding her arms, hugging herself. She raises her head and stares at you as you approach. You pause in front of her, not really sure what to say. She probably doesn’t want your comfort, so you’ll keep it brief. “Glad you’re okay,” you say as you awkwardly pat her shoulder. You quickly scurry inside the gym, feeling what you’re sure is a judging stare.
Just as you thought, some of the Bats are here, administering the antidote to the victims. You make a show of looking for Damian, just in case he’s watching. There’s an incessant buzzing in your pocket. Pulling out your phone, you swipe open Jon’s messages.
please get this boy some brown contacts
why did i just turn on the news and ga was attacked
hello?????
are you okay??????
please be okay
why arent you answering are you dead
please dont be dead
Your heart churns at his worry. You just want to gnaw on him, he’s so cute. You send a selfie of you throwing up a peace sign with the police and Batman in the back.
yeah lmao im ok
shit was crazy but damian shoved me a closet all romantically and then ran off
looking for him rn hope he aint dead
he told me he wasnt even gna come what a liar
oh my gosh youre alive no way
are you sure youre okay im pretty sure you just experienced something really traumatic
YES jon like i said i was in a closet the whole time
well im glad damian shoved you in there
also yeah he is a stinkin liar sometimes
You chuckle and let the conversation die. You make sure to answer Sam’s concerned messages with the same selfie and reassurance.
“I see you are alive and well,” comes Damian’s voice behind you. He’s got his hands in his pocket casually, looking completely put together and not like he just fought crime. He’s good.
You huff and turn around to face him. “Yeah well, it’s hard to die when you’re chilling in a closet that somebody shoved you into,” you snark accusingly.
He scoffs, ”I practically saved your life.”
“And then ran off. Where did you go, anyway?”
Damian turns his head, surveying the law enforcement as they work. “I helped in aiding the other students escape.” Yeah, whatever.
“Oh, really? We got ourselves a hero type over here.” You cross your arms and bump him gently. His head lolls with the movement. “Maybe you really are Robin.” He ‘tsk’s, but says nothing. You let the silence consume the both of you, eyes wandering the scene. Concerned parents cry in outrage at their fear gassed children. You wonder if they’ll sue. Then, you notice something.
“Why is Batman looking at me like I just cursed his entire bloodline?” you ask Damian, making him drop his arms and look to where your eyes are. You’re exaggerating, it’s hard to tell exactly how Batman’s looking at you with the cowl and the distance, but he isn’t exactly being subtle.
“That’s just how he usually looks,” says Damian, trying to remain casual. You are pretty damn sure he’s trying to signal to B that he needs to chill. Karen confirms that he actually is in your ear. Your mouth twitches as you wrangle a grin under control.
“Well, tonight was lame. I’m gonna go home before the big bad bat decides I need to be ‘vengeanced’ or something.” You turn around and begin walking away. “See you around, Dami.”
Damian grabs your arm before you can get far. “Let me walk you.”
You raise a brow. “Trying to figure out my base of operations?”
“It is late and you shouldn’t be going home alone. Especially after tonight,” he gestures to the scene.
You shrug. There’s really nothing to hide at your apartment, and he definitely already knows where you live regardless. “My hero. Okay, if you insist. But you’re paying for the ticket.”
“What ticket?” he scoffs. “My butler will be driving.” Oh. Right.
You scoff. “Of course you have a butler.”
He places a hand on your back to guide you out. You risk a subtle glance behind you and see that Batman is still looking, but more so at Damian now. You make a stop to the closet Damian shoves you into to pick up your haul, ignoring his side-eye. It seems he has let it go, for now.
Cold air greets you as you step outside with Damian. Arguably one of the coolest characters in the DC verse stands beside a sleek looking car, Alfred Pennyworth. You’re a big fan.
“Master Damian, Mx [Name].” He greets primly, stepping aside to open the door for you both. Damian nudges you in, and you make sure to thank Alfred and give him your address as you slip inside. Damian settles in beside you, his arm pressing into yours. You look out of the window as the drive commences. There’s not much to say.
“Tonight could’ve gone worse,” Damian says, breaking the silence. “I suppose we should be grateful for that.”
“Grateful, sure,” you reply, not taking your eyes off the city lights flashing by. “Though I wouldn’t have minded if it hadn’t happened at all.”
He nods, a slight smirk playing on his lips. “True. But then, I wouldn’t have had the chance to save you.”
You roll your eyes. “Is that what you’re going to hang over my head forever? ‘Remember that time I saved you in the school closet?’”
Damian chuckles, a rare sound that makes you glance at him. “Perhaps. But I think you’d do the same.”
“You know me so well,” you say, a small smile tugging at your lips.
You lean back in the comfortable leather seat of the car, feeling the tension of the night slowly ebbing away. The drive through Gotham's streets is surprisingly smooth, with only the occasional sound of sirens in the distance to remind you of the chaos that unfolded earlier.
As you pass under the shadow of skyscrapers, you steal a glance at Damian. His profile is illuminated by the faint glow of city lights filtering through the car window. Despite the adrenaline of the evening, he seems composed, almost serene.
He catches your glance and turns to meet your eyes, his own reflecting a mix of lingering intensity from the night's events and a quiet contemplation that seems to soften his usually sharp features. The silence between you feels comfortable now, no longer laden with the tension of earlier encounters or the urgency of the situation you just escaped. You offer a smile, and this time he doesn’t have any reaction. Just a calm expression.
“We have arrived,” Alfred announces softly as the car comes to a stop, almost hesitant to break the silence. You step out of the car, giving Alfred a nod of gratitude before heading up to your apartment. You turn back one last time, meeting Damian’s gaze before unlocking your door and heading inside. As you settle in, you can't help but feel a strange mix of emotions—relief, curiosity, and something else you can't quite place.
You drop your bag next to your bed and collapse in it. Nari comes trotting over, hopping onto your mattress and curling up next to you. Tonight was anything but lame. And as reluctant as you are to admit it, Damian’s presence made it a bit better.
You close your eyes, letting sleep take your mind.

A Collection for a Special Date: Part V
Male Reader x Kim Minju (fluff)
Length: 1000 words
Tags: all the fluff, birthday date, really loving relationship, cutest ending ever
Inspiration: Minju mine tbh, also HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BEST GIRL
(A/N: this is the second Minju fic for today, the yearly fluff that hopefully makes you all feel warm. It's a bit short, but otherwise I would not have been able to finish it in time. Pleas enjoy regardless!)
“What are we going to do for my birthday?”
A question that Minju always asks so playfully and carelessly, but for you, it’s a source of stress, year in and year out. It’s not necessarily because she has the highest of standards or would break up with you because of a bad surprise—no, it’s because you want to make it the best day imaginable for her. You want to see her smile and hear her laugh; in that sense it’s almost egocentric.
“It’s going to be a surprise~” You grin at Minju who looks up from her phone, a pout on her lips but excitement in her eyes.
“You always say that, every year! I just want to know what I should wear or prepare or—”
“Minmin.” You laugh and wrap your arms around your girlfriend's waist. She fits perfectly into your hug and when she reciprocates it, you feel like no heaven could come close to this. For now however, you put her on the kitchen counter and watch this small bean as you explain what you have explained a hundred times already. “You will look perfect in anything.”
“You always say that.”
“And you don’t have to worry about preparations.”
“You always say that too.”
“I just want you to relax and enjoy your special day, that’s all—”
“—I care about, yes, I know! Geez, babe, you sound like a broken record, year in, year out.”
You press a quick kiss on her lips to shut her up. Good thing that noone is watching; you two just engaged in the cringiest, cheesiest couple behavior. It’s so cringe, the two of you burst out in laughs and continue to share kisses and hugs that can remove all work and life stress. Even if every year or month or day repeats itself like a broken record, with Minju it will be—
“Okay, fine,” Minju sighs in defeat, hands on your nape as her eyes, soft like silk, go over your features. Oh no, she must have read your thoughts, at least some of them. “At least promise me one thing.
“Don’t worry too much and enjoy yourself too.”
“I promise.” Kiss her forehead. “I love you, Minmin.”
“I love you too.”
#
“This is the best birthday ever!” Minju exclaims in thrill when the waiter brings her a stack of beautifully crafted, maple-syrup covered, buttery pancakes. “Babe, you are the best.”
“Glad you like it, Minmin,” you say nervously, but you’re not sure your words reach the girl, as she digs into the treat. For the past eight hours, the two of you have walked through this city you’ve spent your entire lives in.
Through meticulous planning, you’ve found spots that you believed to be completely unknown to Minju. These hidden gems were aligned for a perfect route; from a hotel where you can play and cuddle with dogs to a shop with cute but expensive jewelry to a small cinema where you can cook the food shown in the movie to a backyard park, perfect for winter strolls.
Minju beamed with the brightest of smiles since the morning breakfast and gifts you gave her, and her squeals of joy at every new surprise spot is addictive. It’s so addictive, you are almost able to keep the promise you gave her: don’t worry too much and enjoy yourself.
“These pancakes taste so good!” Minju reaches over the table and pinches your cheek, still red from the cold outside and from your endless love for this wonderful girl. “How did you find all these places?”
“I had to travel the seven seas to find hidden treasure chests with maps inside them,” you joke and Minju falls back to pout sweetly.
“Babe, your sarcasm is showing again. Not cool.” Now it’s your turn to lean forward, but instead of pinching, you cup her face and taste some of that delicious maple syrup on her lips. A deep breath leaves her nose and finally, a bit of pressure and anxiety about today leaves your body; it leaves because Minju looks truly happy.
“Happy birthday, Minmin,” you whisper. “When you are done with those pancakes, I have a final spot we need to check out.”
“Baaaabe~” Minju’s voice melts like the butter on her favorite dessert. This saccharine tone that can warm you, even on the coldest February night.
#
Luckily, tonight it’s not too cold. It’s perfect winter jacket and wooly hat weather with not a cloud on the entire night sky. You and Minju finally reach the top of the pancake shop, a fairly tall building, surrounded by small houses and large skyscrapers everywhere you look. From this point, the city around you seems to never end, infinite concrete, lights and snow.
“This is a nice view,”Minju says in awe, her breath forming faint vapor in the air.
“Minju.” You point somewhere. “Look at the city, it’s lights first. Imagine all the people that live at these lights. They party, they work, they eat—
“—now look up. Do you see the moon, the stars?”
“Yes,” Minju sighs melancholically. “But I can barely see them. The light from the city is too strong and we can never see the life that might be up there.”
You faintly laugh, your nerves almost returning. You rub the sweaty palm of your hand on your thigh and look at Minju, who seems a bit dreamy, lost in the stars she tries so hard to see.
“Close your eyes. Imagine the city lights turned off. How bright are the stars now?”
Minju smiles, her nose directed at the infinite universe, eyes gently closed. Your breath halts. “They are beautiful, strong, and I don’t want to look at anything else anymore.”
“Kim Minju…”
She opens her eyes, you’re on one knee.
“...I love you.”
You pull out a silky blue jewel case and with a click, it opens.
“Will you marry me?”
The ring sparkles in Minju’s starlit orbs. Her answer, your unbelievable joy.
“Oh my God, babe—”
“Yes!”

Time Travelers AU - Unexpected visitors
Oooookay first drabble based on the silly au idea I had :D
I decided to make it into short parts so that I can (hopefully) post faster than if I made big parts, so that's why it's kinda short
This one is written from Dust's pov so I won't translate what anyone says so you can have an authantic experience just like Dust :) (unless you speak French, Old French, Old Norse and Latin of course)
Btw it was hell to find a descent translator for Old French so Cross won't be speaking much lmao (neither will Horror but he's just not much of a talker to begin with)
Next
@ancha-aus come here :3
One exhausting day added to the list, Dust internally sighed as he opened the door to his appartment with a creaking noise. He lived in an old building on the first floor, almost half of the stuffs were broken but at least he didn't have many neighboors and he had a little backyard so he could touch some grass on the week-end. He didn't have enough money to move out anyway so he wasn't going to complain. It was a small appartment, you entered with the kitchen on the right and two doors on the left, the first leading to the bathroom and the second to the bedroom, and in front of you was the living room with a couch, a table and a few chairs, the TV was on the wall in front of the couch. The door to the small square shaped backyard was on the opposite wall, in front of the entry door. It was small but more than enough for the skeleton living alone.
He put his bag on the kitchen counter, took off his shoes and fell flat on his couch. He had to eat, but he just wanted to rest a little before he gathered the energy to get up and go cook. He was just going to take a quick ten minutes nap.
He woke up with a light shining bright through his window, was it already morning ? Did he sleep on his couch again ? He looked up, rubbing his eyesockets as he grumbled, but the light didn't seem to come from the sun, it was to bright and too white, it looked like a neon light from a big spot, which he didn't have any near or in his backyard.
- What the fuck... ?
The light disappeared when he stood up, for a moment he contemplated going back to sleep, but he quickly changed his mind when he heard speaking, or more precisely screams, coming from his garden. Did someone break in ? He swiftly went to grab a knife in his kitchen and slowly opened his curtains to take a quick look outside, to see how many they were so he could call the cops.
- Wh-
He was speachless in front the scene happening before him. Did a cosplay parade broke into his backyard ? Why the hell were there a knight, a viking, some roman and a sort of prince in his garden ? And why were they all screaming at each other in languages that he couldn't understand ? Wait were those real weapons ?
He opened the door, and everyone looked at him, having stopped yelling. They all looked at each other for a while, no one making any move, at least Dust had time to analyze them. They were all skeletons, the roman was dressed in a dirty brown tunic with a leather bag around the waist and two knives in his hands, a black liquid was dripping from his empty sockets. The viking was tall and massive, dressed in thic furr clothes, pobably for the winter, he had an axe that was as tall as him, a hole in his skull and a big shining red eye, his whole look screamed intimidating. The knight was, well, dressed as a knight in an armor and holding a sword, he had a red scar underneath his right socket and mismatched eyelights, behind him was the last skeleton, a black one, dressed very elegantly in purple clothes, looking like a noble more than a prince as he wasn't wearing any crown. Their costumes looked really well made, they definitely had a good budget.
The roman was the first to talk.
- Ubi sum et qui estis ?
- What ? Speak English man.
Dust answered, not understanding a word of what that stranger just said. The roman repeated slower.
- Ubi sum et qui estis ?
- English, dude, English.
Dust asked again. Damn, these cosplayers really went all out didn't they ? The noble sighed, visibly even more irritated than Dust.
- Il essaie de vous demander où il se trouve et qui nous sommes, vous ne parlez donc pas le latin ?
Okay that sounded like French. Dust didn't speak French.
- Do none of you speak English ?
He asked, but received no response. The knight spoke, looking confused.
-Je ne comprens mie.
That sounded like French too, a weird version of French. Dust looked at the viking.
- You. You speak English ?
- ᛇᛋᛏᛖ ᚲᛖ ᚹᛟᚢ ᛞᛁᛏᛖ ?
- Damn okay that's worse.
It now seemed very apparent that none of them spoke English, which made the situation even weirder, and harder to manage too.
- Okay wait here for a second.
Dust instructed them before going back inside, grabbing his phone, and going back outside where no one had moved, various looks of confusion spreading on their face.
- You, French guy, come here.
He pointed to the noble who looked at him like he just insulted his mother, but still he approached him, the knight following him while keeping an eye on the others.
- Okay speak.
He said, holding out his phone opened on the Google Translate page. The noble looked at his phone, visibly confused.
- Qu'est-ce que cette.. chose.. que vous tenez ?
The translation appeared on the screen: "what is that thing you're holding ?" it said. Wait, he didn't know what a phone was ? The situation might be even more complicated than what Dust initially thought. He quickly typed his answer and clicked on the vocal command, asking the other who he was and where did they all come from.
- Mon nom est Nightmare, je suis un noble du grand Royaume de France et je vous prierais de ne point m'associer à ces.. personnages, dont je ne connaissais pas l'existence il y a de cela un instant.
He answered, looking at the others with disdain. The translation arrived. His name was Nightmare, he came from the Kingdom of France and was a noble, and he apparently didn't know who these people were. Dust typed another question, this time asking in which century they currently were, he had a thought, but wanted to be sure, because it sounded very absurd, but again, the situation in itself was absurd.
- Le dix-septième, évidemment, comment ne savez-vous point cela ?
The seventeenth. He thought he was in the seventeenth century, in the French kingdom, and didn't know what a phone was. Judging by how everyone looked and talked, they were probably also from different centuries. What happened for them to end up here ?
Dust sighed, for now, he could at least ask for their name.
- Okay so he is Nightmare, and I am Dust, you, who are you ?
Dust asked, pointing at Nightmare and then himself before pointing at the roman who looked at him with confusion.
- Him Nightmare, me Dust, you ?
The roman didn't talk. Nightmare sighed again, looking more and more annoyed with everything.
- Rogat quod nomen tibi est.
- Oh, nomen meum Killer est.
He finally answered, in a language that Dust's phone recognized to be Latin and which Nightmare seemed to be fluent in. Then Nightmare turned to the Knight.
- Vostre nom.
- Je me nome Cross, vostre altece.
Nightmare then turned to the viking, but didn't talk this time, he just stared, the viking however seemed to understand what they were all doing as he answered with his name.
- Horror.
Nightmare turned to Dust, looking at him with a very smug smile on his face, clearly showing his languages skills as he could apparently speak French, some variant of French, and Latin. He seemed to be the only one able to do that aside from Dust's phone.
- Oookay, so Nightmare the noble, Cross the knight, Killer the roman and Horror the viking, great.
Dust sighed, really hoping that all that was just a dream and he would wake up soon, but if it was really just a dream, his head wouldn't hurt like that.
- I'm going back inside, you.. uh.. can come in if you promise not to kill each other and not to turn my appartment into a mess, well, a bigger mess.
He said as he typed on Google and let the French translation be heard. Nightmare listened, looked up at Dust, looked at his appartment with an almost repelled expression on his face, and looked back at the skeleton like he was making fun of him.
- Vous voulez que j'entre dans cette étable ?
Nightmare asked, the translation asking Dust if he wanted him to enter this stable, referring to his apartment. Frenchie was a bitch, noted.
- It's all I have, unless you want to stay outside.
He told him. Nightmare sighed when he heard the translation but didn't reply, letting Dust translate in Latin and Old Norse that he invited everyone inside on the condition that they didn't make a mess or kill each others.
Killer was the first to go in, putting his knives back in his bag, visibly not worried that it might be a trap, he just went to explore this new place. Cross stayed by Nightmare's side, they might not have known each other but Cross was a knight and Nightmare was a noble, it made sense for him to stay close to him, it was his duty to protect him. Horror seemed suspicious, but seeing how Dust seemed genuine and not much of a threat he decided to enter too, much more carefully than Killer. Dust looked at them pass by him and turned to face the last two, waiting for them to enter as well. Cross went in first, inspected the inside before coming out again and talking to Nightmare who stayed outside.
- Il n'i a auncun dangeor, vous poez entrer.
Nightmare looked at him for a few seconds without moving before finally following the knight inside. Dust guessed he must have told him the place was safe.
With everyone inside Dust went back in and closed the door. They all looked at him, waiting for him to say something.
Well.
Dust didn't know what to say.
Why didn't he just stay asleep ?

can you please do a jude bellingham fic where they break up but are obviously still in love with eachother and jobe decides to play cupid as he hates seeing them both miserable. angst to fluff. tysmm
Here you go sweetie <3
── Second chances
PAIRING… Jude Bellingham x fem!reader | Genre… angst | WC… 1.9k
“Jobe, I’ve already told you before, it’s not going to happen.” You grimace through the phone, gaining the feeling of deja vu after already having spoken with him about this many times before.
“Come on y/n, please.” He practically begged, as you just sighed over the overwhelming memories causing a sharp pain in your heart.
“Jobe, I’m sorry but we’ve both moved on, what once was should be left in the past.” You responded in the most confident way possible despite the potential tears threatening to fall, knowing that you were lying about the latter.
“Okay, I’m sorry for asking, I just miss you coming over and cooking for us.” Jobe mumbles as you slightly smile at his last comment.
“I miss you too Jobe, but I guess this is just how things are meant to be now.” You reason before letting out another sigh. “I’ve got to go now but I’ll see if I can catch up with you another time.”
“Okay, see you.” He bids farewell as you reciprocate, quickly ending the call as you remain seated in your place, looking down whilst questioning the past and whether what you chose to do was inherently correct.
—
“I promise you it didn’t happen!” Jude shouts.
“What do you mean it didn’t happen? There’s photo evidence!” You respond as you pull up the clear photo, extremely clear in fact, of Jude kissing another girl. “I knew I shouldn’t have trusted you going to a club!”
“Babe let me expl-”
“What is there to explain? It’s all here!” You interrupt him, pointing back at the photo.
“Babe, seriously-”
“Stop calling me ‘babe’! You’ve already proved how much I truly mean to you, I can’t stand looking at you right now! I never want to see your face in front of me again! Whatever we were is over!” You shout in frustration before picking up your handbag and beginning to walk to the front door.
“Y/n please, if you just let me explain.” Jude tries to reason as he grabs ahold of your hand to stop you.
“Please, don’t touch me.” You pull your hand away, turning to see the look of desperation on his face. “I can’t believe you would do this! Just leave me alone.”
You silently walk out of the house after that, this time without anyone trying to hold you back before the tears begin to stain your cheeks, your heart aching entirely.
—
After the call, your mind could only focus on what once was, unable to move your attention onto something different no matter how hard you tried.
You thought you were able to forget, hopefully suppress the memories as it hurt too much to reminisce.
A sudden ping from your phone caused you to immediately lose track of your thoughts as you immediately picked up your phone, sighing as you saw who the send was.
“Hey, can you come and cook me something, mum and dad are out.”
Chuckling lightly at the young boy's antics, you quickly sent a response before getting up and putting your coat on. You shortly walked out of the house, the cold winter air causing you to shiver as you quickly stepped into your car.
Soon arriving in front of the relatively large house, you paused once again, reminiscing the many times you visited this house before finally sliding out and walking up to the front door.
Before you could even knock on the door, however, it flung open, revealing the last person you wished to see.
You both stood still, staring at one another in shock for a few moments before he finally spoke up.
“Y/n? I didn’t realise you were coming over.” Before you could even respond Jobe popped up from behind, practically skipping over to you with a large smile on his face.
“Y/n! You’re here!” Jobe exclaims, a mischievous smile practically implanted onto his face. You watched Jude’s face as he slowly began to realise what you were actually there for.
“Come on inside, you’re letting all the cold air out.” Jobe suggests before pulling you in by your arm, leaving Jude standing in the doorway, unsure on what to do. “So what are you going to cook?”
You lightly smack the boy's shoulder in disappointment before speaking. “Wow, you don’t even know how to greet a guest.”
“Ow! Sorry, sorry.” He exclaims as you turn back to face the door, noticing that Jude was no longer standing there.
“Come on, what are you waiting for? I’m hungry!”
—
Once again, you were sitting contemplating the events of the past, no matter how much your conscience told you how wrong it was you just couldn’t help it. Seeing him for the first time again, after months felt like when you first met him.
Love at first sight was not something you believed in until you met him.
You were helping out at one of Jobe’s training sessions and it just so happened that the man himself was there to take the young boy home.
Small conversation was made between you two as you waited for the session to conclude, Jude sheepishly asking for your number afterwards caused butterflies to explode inside you. But it just so happened that it was all a lie.
The sudden call ringtone caused you to practically jump out of your skin as you quickly answered.
“Hello?”
“Y/n, are you free right now?” You immediately recognised the voice.
“Yes, are you alright Jobe?”
“Y/n please help, one of the coaches is sick so we don’t have anyone to ref our practice match.” Jobe requested as you lightly sighed, accepting that you were never going to escape from this boy.
“Give me a few minutes.” You finally respond as he quickly thanks you before you both hang up.
You soon arrived onto the playing grounds, immediately being greeted by an over enthusiastic Jobe, pulling you onto the grass.
You previously playing came into use as the mini match got on well and eventually ended with Jobe’s team winning, earning a tight hug from him.
You all began to clear off the grass as you stood on the side, waiting to bid your goodbyes with the boy once again.
“Y/n?” You froze, the voice you could immediately recognise causing you to tense up. How could you not recognise it? The voice you loved for oh so long.
“Jude, hi.” You finally respond, turning to him as you spared him a small smile.
“What are you doing here?” He questions, looking at you sceptically.
“Oh, Jobe asked me to ref a game.” You explain, motioning to the pitch as Jude just nods, no more words exchanged between the two of you.
“Y/n you’re still here? Oh hi Jude.” Jobe finally arrives, a slight smirk on his face however you could depict why in particular.
“Yeah, I just wanted to say goodbye but you took so long.” You explain, crossing your arms over your chest as you hear stifled laughter next to you.
“Sorry, I had to talk to a coach about something.” He tries to reason as you just shake your head in disapproval.
“I’ll be heading back now.” You announce before pulling the tall boy into a hug, to which he returns before walking over to your car, unsure on whether you should have bid your goodbyes to the other.
—
You had soon grown used to the constant messaging of requests from the boy, not even questioning who most of the senders were.
You were more than happy to help him, feeling as though you needed to repay him for the kindness you received since you first met him. However, each encounter somehow ended up in you coming face to face with your world renowned ex.
He no longer questioned why you were where you were, already knowing it was due to his brother’s antics.
And so you weren’t surprised when you received yet another text.
“Can you come to the house please, I need help with something.” Sighing, you slowly get up not rushing as much as you used to, eventually leading you to end up, once again, standing outside of his house, this time requiring you to knock on the door.
Unfortunately you were pleasantly surprised by the person who opened the door.
“Y/n. What are you doing here?” He questions, giving you deja vu to a few weeks ago, when you first arrived in front of his house.
“Jobe asked me to come help him with something.” You explain, gently smiling at him.
“Jobe isn’t at home right now.” Jude answers, earning a confused expression from you. “Well… do you want to come in for a quick drink?”
You lightly nod after spending a few seconds considering your pros and cons. Placing your coat onto a hanger before taking your shoes off brought back the many memories you had created in this house.
You sat down on a chair by the countertop before you watched him prepare your drink, reminding you of how he used to always do when you came around.
After a few minutes he was done, placing the drink down in front of you and smiling at you lightly, to which you returned as the both of you remained quiet, unsure on what to say.
“I’m sorry-” You both say, breaking the silence as you look at each other in surprise.
“You go first.” He suggests.
“No, you go first.” You argue as he just nods his head.
“I’m sorry, about everything, I should have stopped her before she tried, I jude, kinda, froze in the moment.” He explains, avoiding eye contact as he did so.
“I’m sorry for not letting you explain, I was just so hurt, I wasn’t thinking straight. I saw the articles confirming she forced you, I was just too ashamed to face you.” You splutter out whilst looking down, not wanting to meet his eyes.
Silence filled the room as neither of you looked at each other, ashamed to think you deserve forgiveness until you felt his hand on yours, a familiar comfort bringing you peace.
You remain in place, unsure on what to do, conflict occurring within your mind until you finally come up with a conclusion.
Wrapping your hand around his wrist, you quickly pulled him towards you, his surprised face being the last thing you see before your lips finally connected, the feeling of euphoria overcoming you as you instantly felt Jude reciprocate, both of you smiling into the kiss.
You both eventually pulled away, staring into each other’s eyes for a few moments before Jude pulled you into a tight hug.
“You don’t know how much I missed this.” You heard him mumble as you lightly nodded.
“Me too, Jude. Me too.” You answer as you remain in his arms, not wanting to ever leave this warmth.
—
The sound of the front door opening caused your eyes to instantly open, unsure on who would be arriving.
Suddenly, the head of a young boy stuck out from the hallway, a cheeky grin on his face as he began wiggling his eyebrows at the sight of you and your supposed ‘ex’ cuddling on the sofa.
Rolling your eyes, you immediately realise that he had planned this as you remembered the messages he had sent you, the fact that every time he asked you to be somewhere, Jude would always end up being there too. The smirks you constantly received from the young boy whenever you had the guts to speak to his brother.
And although you pretended to be annoyed at his mischievous plotting, you couldn’t help but smile at the lovely sight of a sleeping young man next to you, and deep down, you were grateful for Jobe pulling you two back together, allowing you to both have a second chance.

Wish Upon A Star
« silly series - 7 »
Sana x gn!reader
Fluff
synopsis - an idea of a perfect end to a birthday getaway
wordcount - 837
A/N - IM LATE BUT IM HERE happy birthday to my beloved Sana, hopefully she never sees this but I love her! also not proofread bc im in a rush and its simply not a priority but enjoy!
Leaving a comfortable, heated restaurant to meet the ruthless winter cold outside would never put a smile on your face, but the sight of your girlfriend ahead of you sure did.
Sana sighed at the sky above your heads, waiting for you to adjust your coat but soon felt your hand sneaking to grab hers.
Her giggles resonated in the silent night, and her eyes met yours, making you forget all about the weather around you.
“What were you looking at?” You asked, leading the walk back to the cabin.
For her special day, you’d brought Sana on a small trip out of town, in the mountains away from her routine and familiar sights. That way she could relax, take a much needed break to enjoy herself along with the snow and refreshing views only nature could offer.
If only it had cooperated with her wishes, maybe she could have gotten more out of the night sky she loved so much.
“The stars, but there’s not much to look at.” She pouted, glancing back above her.
Your eyes indeed found only a few, faintly glowing through the clouds. It was a pretty sight that made you smile, and you liked to think they were trying just for her.
“At least there’s some.” You said, hoping to cheer her up. That’s when an idea popped in your brain. “Make a wish.”
Sana’s steps slowed down before her eyes found you again. Eyebrows furrowed, she wondered what could possibly have prompted you to say that. “Why?”
“You didn’t get to wish on candles yet.” You pointed out, reminiscing about the lack of them on her cake just moments ago. “Wish upon a star instead.”
“Doesn’t that only work on shooting stars?” She chuckled, feeling her heart swell in her chest. You were so ridiculously thoughtful.
“Urban legend.” You waved off, leading the walk again. “You can wish on whatever you want, it’s your birthday. Besides, it’s getting just as rare to see normal stars as it is to catch shooting ones. I like to think it makes them the same.”
Your small rant was followed by an unusual silence, making you look at her. You had to make sure she was okay, you weren’t used to her lacking words. Relief washed over you when you caught her already looking at you, a soft smile paired with eyes shining as much as she wished the sky would.
“What?” You asked, suddenly feeling a bit shy.
“I love you.” She simply said before squeezing your hand in hers, hugging your arm to have you even closer. “Thank you for everything, today and everyday.”
The sudden heartfelt words pushed you to look down at your feet, finding the need to ground yourself from how high she managed to make you feel.
“You’re welcome, but you don’t have to thank me.” You mumbled, bringing your hands to your pockets and dragging hers with you.
It was accidental, her effect made you forget about your intertwined hands but she didn’t mind. It was cute, and at least this way her love for you wouldn’t turn into a sacrifice as the cold wind would eventually have frozen it beyond.
“I know, but I want to. Everything you do for me, you’ve never had to. I’m thankful that you do them anyway.”
“That’s because I want to.” You smiled, leaning in to catch her lips. You made sure to make your kisses extra soft, hoping she’d get everything you couldn’t put into words. “I love you too.”
Those three little words pushed her to lay one last kiss on your lips, appreciating the warmth that spread in her veins.
“So are you gonna make a wish or not?” You asked, making her smile.
“You want me to wish something that bad?”
“I’m just trying to have a wholesome moment. Make you love me a bit more. Is that a crime?” You defended, and she giggled before snuggling closer.
Her arms suddenly wrapped around your waist, making you stop in your tracks. “I love you,” she said once more, laying a soft kiss on your cheek. “So much.”
“I know. I can feel it.” You smiled. “Do you want to wish for more of me?”
“I don’t think I could handle that.” She grimaced, making you laugh. “But I do have something in mind. Can I?”
You nodded and watched with a smile on your face as she closed her eyes, wondering what she could possibly be thinking up in that head of hers.
Sana struggled to keep her own smile to herself as she grew excited at the thought of her wishes coming true.
More of this. Of you kissing her cheeks, her lips, of you spoiling her, of feeling your arms around her, holding her close enough to feel your heartbeat and hoping it would do so only for her until its last one.
More birthdays and happy memories to share with you.
That’s all Sana wished for when her eyes laid on the one glowing the most.

BUCKY
Bucky woke up to find the sun streaming in through the large, paned hotel window. Taking in a sleepy breath, he could barely believe how well this mission had worked out for him in the end. Though he’d almost been caught the night before, almost being forced to return to his life as the Winter Soldier, he’d also found someone who he valued as more than just a colleague or a teammate. The smile that painted his face when he turned over to see Y/n still sleeping, hair spread around her on the pillow in a messy halo and his shirt buttoned up over her frame, was both wide and pure. Last night, she’d insisted on wearing the oversized item, ignoring the fact that it looked more like a short dress on her than a shirt. He’d given in, of course, wanting her to have every comfort that she desired, especially with the complex pain he knew she must be feeling after the confrontation with the Cranes and her father.
It took him just 10 minutes to get two coffees from a sweet barista at the cafe below the hotel and return to their suite. When he got back, Y/n was still asleep, likely exhausted. He placed the coffees on the bedside table before sitting on the edge, beside Y/n’s slumbering form.
“Doll,” he woke her, with a gentle hand on her shoulder, his voice quiet and comforting.
She swatted at him, her hand sharp and fast as a bullet but one that he dodged easily, mumbling grumpily, “Bucky…”
“You’ve got to get up eventually doll, why not now?”
“I never pegged you as a morning person” she smiled then, a small but genuine grin.
A tense silence formed quickly in the echo of her words as her smile faltered, the events of the night before playing out in both their minds.
“I think we should talk…” Bucky started.
“About?”
“Y/n…”
“About what, Bucky?” she raised a shaky eyebrow, her calm mask cracking.
Bucky sighed before pushing through, “About what your father sai—”
“I don’t want to talk about that,” Y/n hesitated, interrupting before letting out a low whisper, “Talking about it will ruin everything Bucky, he ruins everything”
He came towards her, his gaze soft, “Please doll, hear me out…If we decided to continue whatever this is I think you might be the best thing that could ever happen to me” Her sleepy eyes turned up to look at him hopefully, the sight practically breaking his heart as he pushed himself to continue, “…But I’d probably be the worst thing that could happen to you”
“You’re wrong, you know that?” she whispered back bravely, “I’ve been through the worst already, there’s nothing you could do that could break me now…I want you Bucky, please”
“That’s not exactly good Y/n” he sighed, frustrated but still speaking calmly, sadly, “You’ve been through so much that if I ruined your entire life you wouldn’t even blink an eye. That’s—that’s toxic. I don’t want to be the next thing that hurts you”
“You won’t be” she stated plainly.
“I’m not fully—“ he paused, “There’s still work I have to do before I’m good…what if I make a mistake that causes you more pain?”
“Then you’ll learn”
He ran an exasperated hand through his cropped hair, grasping at straws, “I still have nightmares—what happens if you’re in my bed and I kill you in my sleep?”
“That’s a chance I’m willing to take” she replied strongly, “Listen, I can’t picture my future without you anymore…everybody needs somebody Bucky and you’re my somebody”
“But what if I—”
“I know Bucky, I know, okay? Do you think I don’t get what it’s like to make mistakes? To have done bad things? To have regrets?” she said, trying her best to keep her voice calm despite her jumping heart rate. She took his calloused hands in her own, and he let her, “I know what it’s like to be afraid of yourself, believe me. But we can do it together, learn how to be better together…I’m willing Bucky, you just have to trust me”
He squeezed her hands with his own, searching her eyes, for what, even he didn’t know.
“I’m afraid I won’t be able to be the man that you need, that you deserve, and that I’ll give my all to you and it still won’t be enough. I don’t want this to end in heartbreak.” His eyes softened, misty, yet without any tears falling like he was trying to keep himself together and failing miserably. That ball in his stomach was rolling around, wreaking havoc. And yet, Y/n’s words were making the feeling calmer by the second, making him feel like he could reach for what he wanted without fear for the first time.
“It’s always going to be a risk”
“I haven’t taken many of those in my life, not really, but all the brave people I know have. Steve. Sam. Natasha. You…” He paused, brushing her cheek gently with his knuckle. “You have, you’re so brave Y/n, more brave than you could ever know.”
“It’s always going to be a risk Bucky” she repeated quietly, her words striking him at his core.
“I’ve lived a long and loveless life Y/n,” he rasped with a wet chuckle, continuing even when she opened her mouth to interrupt, “No, listen, please. Yes, I’ve had good friends and good family but never…love, not like this. I don’t want to give up on us doll—So maybe I can be brave for you if you let me, and we’ll be alright?”
“We will be, I know it” She leaned toward him, hesitating before planting a gentle kiss on his stubbly cheekbone.
“How?” he huffed with a small smile, having already admitted defeat.
“I just do” she kissed his cheek again, “I just do…”
Y/N
His lips touched her forehead in one intimate motion before he trailed down to her mouth, capturing her in a kiss that she’d likely never forget.
Her hands traced down from the sturdy contour of his jaw to his neck to his chest to his arms, metal and flesh, barely able to keep her hands off of him. His gaze pierced her before he tucked his lips to the crook of her neck, making her groan at the sensation. There was heat between them, sure, a heat that was quickly growing from a small flame into a full, blazing fire but it was the warmth in Bucky’s eyes, the unabashed trust, and the grounding feeling she gained from each kiss, that truly made her feel red-hot.
She pulled his shirt over his head, tossing it to the side before he began to unbutton his own shirt that she was still wearing from the night before. The cool air hit her nipples, making them peak. They kissed and kissed and kissed, Y/n reaching up to wrap her arms around his neck as they did, groaning into his mouth. When she finally pulled back, her eyes scanned over his body, taking his armour off piece by imaginary piece. It felt good—being vulnerable with him, touching him—so good that she felt the full-bodied sense of love settling deep in her bones.
“Please don’t make me wait any longer” she begged, her hands grazing the band of his pants as she sat down on the bed’s edge, him towering over her.
“The coffees are going to go cold…” he hesitated with a shy smirk.
“I don’t care” she breathed as Bucky sunk to his knees.
She spread her legs instinctively, needing his mouth on her more than she needed anything. In that moment, she thought she’d take a single orgasm from him over her own happiness, though, she had a feeling that he’d never leave her without either, pleasure or joy, ever again.
“Please” her whimpered plea was desperate yet unashamed.
When he connected his mouth to her it sent a sharp feeling instantly through her body, one that went straight to her clit.
“Fuck” she gasped, immediately gripping her hands in his short hair.
He kissed the sensitive area, looking up at her, “That feel good doll?”
She ground her hips upward, arching to meet his soft lips.
“Yes—shit—yes, it feels so good Bucky”
He chuckled darkly before reconnecting to her, his tongue sweeping over her wet hole before moving up toward her clit. He used his strong fingers to part her lips, spreading them so that he had better access to the sensitive area. He started slow, licking at her languidly, making her breath hitch and her hips buck upward restlessly. But Y/n’s low whines and her tight grip on his hair made him go faster and faster as if he couldn’t resist giving her the pleasure she craved until his tongue was moving so quickly back and forth it was a blur across her clit.
“I can’t get over how good you taste doll—fuck” he groaned as he lapped lower with his tongue, teasing her needy hole before returning to her clit.
She arched again, shivering at the way the slight change in angle made the feeling of his licking at her clit even more intense.
“I can’t take—fuck—please Bucky, I need you in me now”
Removing his mouth from her, he took his fingers and caressed her sopping hole. Holding it up to the light, he groaned at the sight of her wetness. Y/n looked down, gulping as she noticed the hard, strained bulge waiting in his pants. Her eyes widened even more then, pupils blown with pure desire, as he brought her slick to his lips, tasting her without shame. “You really do taste so good” he chuckled, smiling handsomely when the comment made her flush.
His fingers returned to her hole, gently moving them around and around without once pushing into her. His small smile was dangerous.
“You’re ready to take it doll?” he questioned, kissing her inner thigh as he teased her.
She shivered in response, whining his name, “Bucky…”
“I asked you a question” he glared from below, his dominance taking over, “Don’t make me ask you again”
“Yes” she rushed her response, “I want it, please Bucky, I need to feel you inside me”
He praised her skin with his mouth, tracing sloppy kisses down her neck to the space between her breasts before finally removing his pants and positioning himself in front of her. Her legs wrapped around him as she balanced her ass on the edge of the massive bed.
“You’re sure?”
“Yes—God, Bucky if you don’t—“
Her words fell off in an instant as he slid the first half of himself into her. She’d somehow forgotten just how big he was, letting out a hiss and a loud moan at the immediate feelings of pleasure.
“You’re so fucking tight around me doll” he spat out, his voice a low growl.
He was only halfway in her and still, she clenched around him desperately, needing more, more, more.
“Deeper, deeper please” she begged.
With a huff he pushed deep into her until he was fully seated inside, her walls squeezing around him.
“F—fuck” he growled, his breathing heavy as he started to thrust.
The feeling of his full length slamming into her was overwhelming, to say the least. It was heat and tension and desperation and adoration all mixed together. She rocked her hips along with his in perfect rhythm, moving completely in sync with him. Her breath hitched as he ground into her, placing his hands, both flesh and metal on her hips. The more she arched the better he felt inside her like he was reaching parts of her that she didn’t even know were there.
“Hold on…” he commanded, his voice dark as he thrust and thrust, “Hold onto me doll—fuck”
She reached her hands around him, scratching them down his back, making him growl. He pushed further into her, the weight of him between her legs made them spread even wider. She arched, groaning as he returned his lips to her neck, sucking, leaving a trail of marks behind, marks that declared she was his.
“Bucky” she moaned, lost to the haze of the pleasure, “I need—“
In an instant his fingers were on her clit sliding back and forth across her wet pussy, beginning to please her just how he knew she liked it. His thrusts were harsh and full of need, hers as much as his. Her gaze flitted upward, startling at the pure desire that was reflected in his eyes. It felt good to be pleasured, to be worshipped by him.
“From the moment my lips touched your body—fuck—from the moment I met you” he whispered with reverence, planting kisses down the length of her neck, “I’ve known you were the one”
“I—Bucky,” she cried out, her words interrupted by her moans.
“Tell me doll, let me hear it,” he groaned, eyes fiery.
“I feel the same way…about you” she whimpered, feeling her release coming closer and closer Her hands grazed over his body, over his arms—one cool metal under her fingertips and the other truly warmer than the sun, “You’ve always been the one for me”
Bucky thrust down into her as his fingers fiercely rubbed over her clit, bringing her closer and closer to the edge, all while kissing her neck, her jaw, and her forehead.
“Bucky” she moaned, her breathing laboured.
“I can feel you cumming” he strained, brushing a stray hair from her face in one intimate swipe, “so fucking tight—such a good girl for me”
She tensed before the sensitivity ricocheted through her entire being, making her chest and legs shake beneath him as he gripped her waist while the other hand played with her clit. As she came it felt like dying, an intense, body-rocking death that was quickly followed by the most glorious of rebirths. Bucky came just after her and Y/n held his shoulders as he did, supporting him like he had held her, his deep, breathy moans tickling her ear.
“Fuck, fuck” he groaned before collapsing beside her.
She straddled him then, easing on top of him, mindful of his still slick cock throbbing below her, leaning forward to kiss him. His strong hands ran up the length of her back, practically cradling her as he kissed her back.
“Thank you” she whispered, feeling fully satiated and hopeful for their future.
“Thank you, doll” he kissed her cheek. Pushing her hair back again out of her face, properly gazing at her with love and affection, both their hearts feeling full.
Bucky and Y/n’s relationship was delicate. One wrong move could cause disaster but it seemed that neither of them really cared anymore. They both knew well then that everything is always a risk. They knew too that love, true love, was one worth taking.

obsessed
leo valdez x daughter of hecate reader
a/n: calypso is nice in this one, reader is vv insecure (self-projecting lol), also ending was kinda rushed bc i didn't know how to finish it, also not proofread :)
song: obsessed - olivia rodrigo
(calypso is a pisces for the plot)
La-da-da-da, da-da-da, la-da-da-da-da La-da-da-da, da-da-da
when leo and calypso broke up, the entirety of camp half-blood was flabbergasted. why wouldn't they be? leo had literally sworn on the river styx for calypso, dying and resurrecting for her then rescuing from her cursed island. the perfect couple.
however, what camp half-blood didn't know was the reason behind the breakup: you. while leo did truly like calypso, deep down, he always knew that you, his best friend, had a special place in his heart.
after leo and you got together officially, rumours starting spiralling about how you'd used 'black magic' to capture leo's love and the matching sun and moon necklaces that you two always wore was cursed or something??? you'd always thought these rumours were ridiculous; you'd literally gotten him the necklace before he'd even known calypso.
Cause I know her star sign, I know her blood type I've seen every movie she's been in and, oh god, she's beautiful
but naturally, although you'd never admit it, you were insecure. calypso was smart, funny and beautiful. she was a goddess for gods sake. you tried to push those negative thoughts down, the thoughts that fed the growing monster that was jealousy inside of you. you were obsessed with her.
you literally had a star sign chart featuring her and leo's signs and their compatibility rates. they were so compatible, perfect for each other. being a daughter of hecate and all, you took these things very seriously. but you could never let leo know. what would he think of you then? you didn't want to lose him more. so everytime he would hangout with you in your cabin, you made sure to cast the Mist over your charts, disguising them or making them appear as though they were nothing.
She's talented, she's good with kids She even speaks kindly about me, ha-huh
hoping to break the good girl image everyone had of her, you always dreamed of catching her slipping up and badmouthing you.
like right now.
you'd been heading back to your cabin after dinner when you heard the voices of Calypso and her friends. you were ready to stear clear and hopefully go around them without catching attention but as you neared them, you realised they were talking about you???
you quickly shrouded yourself in the Mist and crept closer. eavesdropping probably wasn't the best idea but you were determined to prove that she wasn't the good girl everyone thought she was.
"girl, have you seen leo's new girlfriend?" you heard one of her friends snicker. your heart picked up its pace and your ears strained to hear more.
"there's no way he'd rather be with a witch than you calypso, who in their right mind would do that?"
your heart plummeted when you heard calypso sigh, "guys, i've moved on, leo's moved on so there's really no point in badmouthing y/n. also, she is one of the sweetest people ive met. please don't think so lowly of her."
needless to say, you slunk ashamedly back to your cabin.
But I can't help it, I got issues, I can't help it, baby
you couldn't sleep.
couldn't stop comparing yourself to her, couldn't stop doubting why leo could possibly leave her for u.
they were perfect together, like warm flames embracing the smoldering logs in a fireplace on a cold winter's day. but you? you were nothing. you were like the useless mantelpiece above the fireplace, watching on as the flames danced to their full potential.
so you decided it would be best to break up with him
coming to a cold, hard conclusion, you swung yourself out of bed and out of your cabin, and headed towards bunker 9, where undoubtedly, your hardworking boyfriend would be slaving away at the forges.
upon hearing you arrive, leo dropped his work with a clatter and pushed his hair out of his eyes. "baby!" he sang, making his way towards you. "look what i - "
"leo," you interrupted. he looked so excited, eyes brimming with love and enthusiasm, looking at you like were the most beautiful piece of art in the world. you almost stopped yourself from saying your next words but - "leo, i want to break up"
he came to a halt before you. "w-what? did i do something wrong? i'll fix it please, please, please don't do this. just tell me what's wrong? i love you baby please."
you could feel your heart shatter at the sight before you. eyes wide with uncertainty and face full of confusion, the upset on leo's face made you want to turn back time take back your words.
"leo, im so sorry. i love you so much too but, i'm so obsessed with your ex. i feel like a fucking creep! i can't help but think that we're not meant to be and calypso is perfect for you." you managed, chest aching, desperate for something to hold onto, to cling onto. "you're wasting your time on me. i'm not worth it."
"aww baby," leo pulled his arms around you. you sobbed into his shoulder, not caring about how dirty your pajamas were going to be after this. "baby, please don't think like that. you're my forever girl. my one in a million lifetimes. and i love you for you."
you sobbed harder and leo's grip on you tightened. "mi vida, i swear on the river styx that i will try my hardest for you to never ever feel this way again. just promise me that you'll stay with me. i'll love only you, baby. promise."
and he kept it till his very last breath.
a/n pt2: ummm (idk what this is but i love leo soooo)

Hi!! can I request a Larissa x teacher!reader with a really shy reader but is also a people pleaser. Basically reader finally asks Larissa out on a date. Reader wanted it to be the best date ever so they planned a lot but Larissa completely forgets. And I mean like maybe a few days have passed and she still hasn’t remembered because of work. Reader doesn’t want to make a fuss so acts okay but also avoids Larissa a little until one day, Marilyn (just Marilyn) who is reader’s best friend who was maybe away for a conference comes back and asks Larissa how the big date went and Larissa panics and apologizes to reader and asks for a second chance. Fluffy ending please. Thank you!!
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 || 𝑳𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑺𝑺𝑨 𝑾𝑬𝑴𝑺
a/n: I got kinda lazy at the end but hopefully this is good!
It's a rare sight for you to stand up and walk with confidence. You’d rather be quiet, having the sound of nature, maybe reading in the library, hidden amongst the people. Going out of your way just to please people even with your shy demeanor. Preferably, you’d help through the shadows, not wanting to draw out attention.
You prefer that way.
Meeting Larissa Weems didn’t exactly help with this case. Ever since working at Nevermore Academy, meeting her was either a blessing or a curse. You were absolutely smitten with her, helping her with work and the students.
God, it was love at first sight. But it truly wasn’t.
You gradually fell for her, and each moment you spent time with her made you fall into an inevitable pit that is called love. A pit you fall deeper and deeper into the abyss. Every time you try to hide it, and when she shows up, all the walls you’ve built around it crumble.
She stood in the middle of the garden of Nevermore, shoulders slacked and hair untied. Still, in her usual working clothes, she relaxed amid the night. You bask in all her beauty.
“It’s quite late to be here, Principal Weems.” Larissa turned around and smiled.
“I could say the same thing, Dear.” You always hated how her endearment affects you, those simple words made your knees weak.
You averted your eyes away from her. “I just have something on my mind.”
“I could say the same thing." She said, "Now, what's troubling you?"
You shook your head. "It's nothing, Principal—"
"Call me Larissa, we're alone."
"As I said, It's nothing." You gently retorted. The cold wind brushed against both of you, shivering from the cold night.
"You're cold."
"I'm fine."
"You'll catch a cold."
You wished to fight back, wanting more time with her, but it's in the midst of October, and the weather has been getting colder as winter is soon coming.
"Okay." She gave you a small bow and headed off to guess her office. You strike confidence, it’s now or never.
“Can I take you out?” she paused, turning around to see if she heard it right. “Say that again?” Her tone was never offended or anything, she was curious. Her lips curled up slowly.
Feeling a heat creep up to your cheeks as you play with the hem of your clothes. “Can I take you out? Like on a date?”
“Okay,” She said, not breaking eye contact with you, while you were barely keeping it.
“How does Friday at 6 pm sound?”
“Let's do that.”
Suddenly, the night wasn’t as cold as it was.
You wanted everything to be perfect, setting up the date and making a reservation in a secluded restaurant in Jericho. You even asked your friend, Marilyn for help, as she was the one who wanted you to confess already.
You stood just around the corner of Weathervane waiting for Larissa. 5:50 PM.
You dolled up, wanting to impress her, but god you should have chosen much shorter heels than a three-inch one, your feet already want to give up. But you perceive, wanting to keep this date.
Twenty minutes passed, and she was nowhere to be seen. You can see the stares of others, pitying you as if you’ve been stood up. But you kept waiting.
Minutes turned into an hour, the Weathervane was closing, and you’d been standing on the sidewalk for more than an hour in these god-horrendous heels. You sighed, feeling defeated, and pulled out your phone to cancel the reservation.
You could tell the lady behind the door felt pity for you. You hated being pitied.
After hours of standing, you walked away from where you were once standing. Removing the heels and opting to walk barefoot till you arrive at your apartment. Feeling an overwhelming feeling that builds up, making your tears swell up with tears. You were thankful that there aren’t people in the streets anymore.
You sobbed quietly, vigorously wiping the tears away. That night, the cold was harsh.
Monday came into the picture. No calls, no texts, no nothing. You received nothing from her. Seeing how packed her schedule was, you opted not to consult her about this. This isn’t as important as work. You can understand.
Marilyn happily walked to the corridor of Nevermore after her two days for a conference. She knocked on Larissa’s door and entered as she heard her words come in.
“Good morning Principal Weems, here are the papers from the conference.”
“Thank you, Ms. Thornhill.” She smiled, taking the papers in her hands and giving them a quick look.
“If I could ask, How was your date?”
She paused, slowly looking up at her. “Date? I don’t believe I went to—” she felt a lump in her throat. The date. The date she had agreed to two days ago. “Fuck.”
“Don’t tell me you forgot?” She retorted, seeing the guilt on Larissa’s face.
“I didn’t mean to, I was too involved with work I–” she tried to make up excuses, but she knew it was not worth listening to. “That was two days ago.”
Larissa buried her head in her hands, shame and guilt build up. She heard Marilyn sigh, slightly afraid of what she'd say.
“Go apologize to them, she probably locked herself in their office.” Larissa stood up, but before heading out, Marilyn called her.
“Principal Weems.”
“Yes?”
“I’ll let it slide this time. There won’t be next time.” her voice was stern.
She smiled slightly. “Then I won’t waste your kindness.” After that, she heads out to find you.
Once she arrived in front of your office, she felt nervous. Her hands were trembling, feeling a lump in her throat. Before she could knock, your door opened. After two days without seeing you, she saw slight changes in your appearance.
The bags are under your eyes even though you desperately try to hide them with makeup. The way your back is hunched back, and trying your hardest to go through your day.
“Oh. Larissa, What brings you here?” you asked even though you already know.
“Can we go inside?” You opened the door wider, welcoming her into your office. She mouthed ‘Thank you’ as she walked inside.
You closed the doors and turned your attention to her. “So…”
You play with your finger, eyes on your shoes. Even though it wasn’t your fault, you couldn’t help but avoid her gaze.
She cautiously approaches you. “I’m sorry dear. I’m sorry for making you wait for nothing, I’m sorry for not showing up. I got caught up with work and I know it's ridiculous. I mean, I didn’t contact you for two days but believe me, I am sorry for what I did.” she slowly reached into your hands and intertwined them with hers.
“I’m sorry love, if I could turn back time I would leave my work and go on a date with you.” She paused, taking a deep breath. “If you would like to give me a chance, will you go on a date with me?” her eyes say nothing but guilt and hope. Hope that you will take up the offer.
“You won’t be late?” you asked softly.
She smiled. “I won’t.”
“You won’t leave me alone?”
She brings you into an embrace, slowly petting your head and planting a kiss. “I never wish to leave you alone again.”

i had an idea... for malleus.... imagine attending the school ball dance or something im not sure with him.... meow
May I have this dance?
———
Summary: At the end of every year, Night Raven College hosts a winter ball before the long break. With all your friends abandoning you, you’re left with a last minute date with a guy you’ve never even met. Let’s just say, it didn’t go to plan. However, there’s someone you’ve been eyeing off for a while now. Maybe this is your chance to talk to him? Fandom: Twisted Wonderland Characters: Malleus Draconia Warnings: Insecurity A/N: anon when i catch you. this is gonna be 2-3 parts, this first one more setting the scene
———
You heaved a sigh, sitting on the cold steps. Today was the night of the NRC winter ball, classes had gone by leisurely because everyone was too ecstatic to stay focused— which didn’t go down well with Professor Crewel. Gosh, even the teachers seemed excited. It was truly the event of the year.
And you? Were dressed up for nothing.
The chilly night air filled your lungs, as if a ghost was trying to comfort you because your friends certainly weren’t going to.
A Savanaclaw boy had originally asked you out to the dance, obviously not wanting to be alone; you accepted despite not knowing him. Look where that got you now. A stupid, last minute date that didn’t even show up.
It must’ve been a dare. How could I have been so foolish?
You felt so disappointed, deep down you’d been looking forward to this. Deep, deep down that familiar sadness was brewing inside you threatening to swallow you whole. Oh, how it was sickening. Tears threatened to fall, but just because your eyes were dry! Nothing else. Nothing at all. You weren’t looking forward to this at all. You didn’t care.
Ballroom music caught your attention, a small, sad smile peeked at your lips. Hopefully your friends were having fun, and not sitting outside like a complete loser.
Hmm… maybe I should just go look for them. I cant return to my dorm like this can I?
Your mind was made up. A little burst of confidence helped you stand up, pulling yourself off the stone steps and stand at the halls entrance. You closed your eyes, taking in a deep breath.
No more than an hour. And certainly no dancing.

Inside was gorgeous, you couldn’t deny the amount of sheer effort put into the design of the ballroom. The student council committee had worked hard, and it showed.
Soft snow glittered on the floor, set up in the corners as little mounds. The lighting was like rays of moonlight, reflecting off of your eyes. The whole hall was very well put together. It looked elegant, similar to a scene from a fantasy movie.
However— cheap blue party streamers hung from the ceiling showing it wasn’t all that fancy.
With other people dancing, chatting away with their friend groups, kissing their partners in their matching prom outfits… you couldn’t help but feel alone, and a tiny bit self conscious. Was anyone noticing you standing around by yourself?
I’ll just find someone I can talk to, or hang around. Where’s my group anyway?
Although. After wandering in the shadows for ages, this wasn’t working. You glanced down at your feet, kicking the blue streamers. This was awkward.
No signs of my friends, or Malleus.
Oh, Malleus. Diasomnia’s dorm leader was so dreamy.
Your eyes drifted to the punch table that seemed very tempting right now. No one was loitering there, so you wouldn’t get caught in conversation with someone you didn’t know.
I’m already here…
Just one drink, and then you’d leave… right?
Wrong.
You were on your third cup of fruit punch. Music beat loudly in the background, it wasn’t interesting enough to focus on. Just party music, sounding more to a blur. You sighed. This whole thing had been a fluke, abandoned by your date and friends… it didn’t feel good. It was a hollow feeling that left a lump in your throat you couldn’t swallow. The lights became all fuzzy as you began dwelling in your thoughts.
Malleus.
Oh so perfect Malleus, you couldn’t help but wonder what he’d think of you in this attire?
Actually, was he even here? Surely Diasomnia would tell him about the one and only Winter ball. As third years, this was something that was celebrated yearly. But this one was different. It was your last year at Night Raven College, it was special. And for Malleus… surely Lilia would make sure he knew it was today. If not the classrooms and dorms being empty should be a big enough clue.
In complete honesty, you’d secretly been hoping he’d ask you out to the ball. The disappointment when he didn’t was… immeasurable.
So instead I made the mistake of trying to ask him. As if I had a chance. You thought bitterly, digging your nails into the side of the plastic cup.
