do you use a pattern for making quilt squares? i'm interested but not sure how to get started

I used a pattern for the latest one that I would really recommend!!! Here's the link it's called the Blue Ridge Mountain Star

not sure if its the easiest since ur beginning so i would try a traditional nine patch (you only need a square!) and then perhaps a log cabin square after that to get ur feet wet

for inspiration on improvisational quilting (which needs no pattern! just experimentation with what u have on hand) i HIGHLY recommend taking a look at the Gee's Bend Quilts

about the sea: have you sailed along the southwestern edge of the baltic sea? if yes, could you describe the land and the shore and the water there? i’m doing a little infographic on the fall migration of european starlings from Latvia to the UK (via Denmark) and i’ve never been along that coast! google maps is ok, but cannot compare to someone’s lived experience. especially with the narrative similarities between sailing and flying

this is and remains my favourite ask I have ever gotten, and it took me some time to get it right. The Baltic southwest is in my unbiased opinion the most beautiful place in the world, all year round, and I could never do it justice in all of it’s facets and different faces it wears through the year. So here are some snapshots of the southwest islands through the year, both of the sea and the shore:

Langeland, Denmark in late spring

The southern tip of the island is so flat that it nearly vanished into the sea until you are right in front of it. The belts and straits of what is lovingly called the Danish south sea are a bright blue in the first sunny days of the year. Sometimes, close to shore, yellow-green pollen bloom even creates swirling patterns in the water. There is animals everywhere; birds settled in the quieter water of the bay, mostly seagulls and loons, but swans as well; if you are very lucky, a harbour porpoise will choose the wake of your ship to swim along with, and further east, you might even meet a seal or two. The coast is green fields and white turbines turning so fast that they are blurring before you. Between it all, a constant trail of huge container ships passes the straits, turning the sky close to the water grey with their exhausts. It all seems so warm, until a single cloud passing in front of the sun reminds you of the coldness of the air.

Fehmarn, Germany in early summer

The canola fields are still in full bloom, turning the whole island a bright, joyous yellow, interspersed with specks of red and blue from the field flowers, swishing in the wind. Bright yellow and bright green against the blue backdrop of the Baltic sea. The island and the land here are flat as a pancake, making it easy to see from shore to shore; only on its edges, like a crumpled paper, does the island lift up into sandy cliffsides that drop of dramatically into pebbled beaches. Standing on the beach, the water is a azure blue, and in the sun, the numerous sandbanks are clearly visible in the light turquoise. While the wind is ever present, it is subdued in early summer, but the jagged cliffs are a stark reminder of the violence of the winter storms. All trees lean towards the shore, gnarled branches disfigured by the wind; there is a reason we call it “the land that even trees bow for”.

Ven Island, Sweden in the middle of the summer

Coming from the open water up north, the island appears like a golden hill rising out of the sea. The grainfields in full bloom, the warm sandy beaches, and the sun behind it. Behind you, the Øresund gave you the perfect reprieve, watching cities and mixed tree forest pass by in turn on either side after the rough waters of the Kattegatt, where both North and Baltic sea crash together in a cacophony of wave pattern, shaking you and your boat around frantically over strong winds. Now, on Ven, it seems almost a lifetime ago, as you follow the soft roads winding up the island and watch as grain and water are dispersed by the wind in mirrored patterns, golden and green-blue.

Christiansø, Denmark in later summer

Arriving in Christiansø is always a wild ride. While the sun beats down in unrelenting brightness, the waves and wind that had time to build over the whole Baltic sea are so strong that salt crystals form on your face from the constant sea spray that hits you in the face. The island seems almost unreal – just jagged brown-grey teeth of rock rising out of the middle of the sea with no land visible in either direction for miles, with deepest blue water surrounding it, no ground in sight. The waves crash on the stubborn rocks with a loud crashing sound, and over all of that, the stubborn calls of birds that circle around the islands undeterred. On the island, the specks of green, of still water ponds and green grass (I don’t remember a single tree), seem almost comical against the rusted brown rocks. You stare out into the dark marine blue and watch the sunset through the roaring and screeching.

Rügen, Germany in early autumn

Auttumn has arrived, and with it, heavy clouds and heavier winds. The Baltic sea, as beautiful as it is in summer, as strong are the east wind storms that start belting down on the southwest from September onwards. Without the sunlight, the water has turned a deep angry green, but mostly white, as sea foam flies over gnashing waves. Sometimes, as the water rises past your ship, you can see the last moon jellyfish of the season in long tangled webs of kelp pass you by. The rain is soft and dispersed, but colder than the water and makes visibility low. But then, the northeast of the island comes into view, as darkness has already set in, and as the wind dies down and the clouds disperse the island shines in a blinding white, the chalk cliffs of the island rising above the water. The breaking off chalk turns the water here a pastel turquoise in the sun as it dispersed, but here now, it’s dark grey, just as the sky.

first off! only write what makes you happy! your writing will only really truly shine when you’re writing something you like!! it’s visible when someone enjoyed writing smth and when they didn’t lol

two, don’t be afraid to set boundaries😭😭kinda goes with the first one but don’t feel bad for not wanting to write/do smth; you don’t need to justify yourself for anything! your blog, your rules~~

three, never beat yourself up for not feeling motivated enough! motivations comes and goes, and it’s only natural. let inspo take over you in its own time and don’t try to force it to come quicker (spoiler: it won’t work😭take it from me i would know—)

i have a friend that.. i don’t really like, he’s annoying bcs he always force me to buy him games and stuff and always beg me to play on his account or give him a bday gift. Likee sometimes i dont even have time to play genshin in my OWN account, likeee who tf are u?

he keeps using the same reason that he has family issues (which he does, but dunno if its true or not)

i think you should talk to him about this, telling him you know ‘ hey i can’t keep buying you games /gifts and you keep forcing me to play yours like i want to play my game just like you, like you have to respect that I can’t always do everything for you, you have to do it yourself .’ you just have to tell him straight forward babes, If doesn’t get the hint of what your trying to tell him distance yourself.

OMG YEAH! so happy for youuu!💓 my gifts have to do with the person so obviously look for something that you know the other person would enjoy + fits with their personality but here are some of mine that i’ve either gifted on the past or is on my list to gift that i think would work in general

- hand print card or any custom card, could be like a picture of the two of you or art (etsy has a lot of options for custom cards or frames), in my case i got the inspo from pinterest of his hand print with mine and my dog’s in the middle and then wrote a little something on the inside to add as part of a bigger gift

- custom license plate if he’s into cars like that, could be either to put on his car orrr as home decor, i got one with our initials on it but my sister got one for her husband with a baseball theme bc he’s really into that

- lego sets for you guys to build together is alwaysss a nice choice!

- plants and botanical things if he’s into it, mine is so i always get him a plant or something new to add to our garden and that way we can have a little gardening date

- hear me out on this one… boxers!!! you may not think so but like good quality boxers are worth ittt! and finding ones that are comfortable and wear nicely is a win! + you’re gonna be taking those off later so make sure he looks pretty!

- baked goods! make him his fav treats or purchase them from his fav bakery!

- cologne to keep him stocked on his fav perfume + you’re able to choose one that you’ll also enjoy everytime you smell him!!!

- little skincare sets so that you can do your skincare together!!

- jewelry!! doesn’t even have to be expensive as long as it’s good quality! some nice rings and chains that fit their jewelry vibe!

- cooking date basket (this is part of the gifts i’m doing this year) where you can make a little basket with the ingredients to cook something together and have a lil date and not have to go out to a crowded restaurant! in my case i bought heart shaped pasta and some pretty heart wine glasses with our favorite wine! also some places make heart shaped pizzas during this time so you can also do that or make them yourself so it can be a whole experience for the two of you!!

these are just some options but if you’re still unsure then try making it a theme so it’s easier! last year i did a car theme where i got him a lego set of his fav car and tickets for a car show and baked him some goodies!

my thoughts on "failing" to manifest

The reason why yall ‘fail’ to manifest what you want (the real case is that you believed you have failed even though you didn’t) is because you use the 3D as proof that your desire is here or not. I don’t know how many times the loa community has to say it, THE 3D IS NOT THE PROOF, YOUR MIND/IMAGINATION IS. You are the proof, whatever thoughts you persist in are the proof. It’s not rocket science! 

The minute you decide you have something, it's yours. You don’t need to look out in the 3D for it, look in your imagination, reassure yourself! Manifestation will always be instantaneous, there is always movement happening in the 3D, yall just have insane trust issues with yourself. 

You can’t exactly fail manifestation, you just persist in thoughts that contradict your desire, in the end that's what you get and that's what will be shown in the 3D. Yes your life can change in a second, Yes good things can happen to you, No, you can’t fail???? I don’t understand when yall say “I'm gonna start over on manifesting”, you manifest all the time, consciously and subconsciously, you will always manifest no matter what you say lolololol. 

All I’m going to say is realize that the 4D is really what you need to focus on, your thoughts and what you persist in. That’s it. There isn't some magical technique or secret power to manifest, just think, think, think. Change your thoughts on EVERYTHING. You have bad grades? Sike, no you don't, your grades are amazing. Your SP said they don’t like you? Haha, actually they're in love with you, just shy. And if you need “proof” or whatever, find reassurance in your thoughts, not on your physical reality.
