Note: Hi! I hope you're all doing okay, I know this week has been tough and long. I hope this can bring some kind of joy during a hard time. This is my first time writing based off of a song. I would love to turn this into some kind of mini series or maybe interconnected standalones. Let me know your thoughts or song suggestions, I hope you all enjoy!

“Pleaseeee come with me, you owe me a favor, remember? It’ll be fun I promise”. Joe begged from his spot on the couch.

Joe had invited you out to one of the team dinner gatherings as his date, insisting that you had to come with him or he would be “too bored to function”. You tried not to place too much weight on the “date” part of the deal, knowing it would be more as friends than anything. He was putting on the whole theatrics, pouting with puppy dog eyes.

“You want me to come to the dinner that you’ve been complaining will be ‘so boring’ so I have to suffer too? I don’t hardly see how that’s comparable to the favor you did for me by taking out my recycling for me that you offered to do” you questioned, knowing full well that it wouldn’t be nearly as bad as he’s been making it out to be.

“Hey, in my defense it was a lot of boxes to carry okay? You can be my source of entertainment, I won’t be able to survive without that” he explained, falling more into the dramatics as he dropped down onto the couch behind him to really solidify his point, exhaling a big sigh as he did so. 

“I hardly doubt that Joseph, you’re being so dramatic” you said with your arms folded over your chest, not going to fold to his pleading that easy. Turning away from him as you sat across from him.

“I guess you won’t know unless you come with me then, huh” Joe said with a small pout on his lips, knowing it was the surefire way to win you over. In reality, he didn't have to even try. While Joe was your best friend, you’ve had feelings for him for a while now that have only grown with time the closer you two have gotten. Meeting back at LSU, you had so many memories together that have only made your friendship what it is today.

“C’mon, what else will it take for you to agree to go? I’ll do anything Y/N.”

Your heart rate picked up at his comment, needing to will yourself back to reality that there are so many other mundane things he could do to sweeten the deal for you. Thank god you had your back turned, able to give yourself a second to breathe. In all honesty, you would go just to spend more time with him, it was always fun to make him work for it though.

“Fine, but I won’t have anything to wear so you’re fronting my cost for a new dress” you stated turning yourself back towards him, sticking out your hand to signify the offer.

“You could’ve just asked that from the beginning. Deal” Joe agreed, returning your gesture and shaking on the deal.

It was finally the day of the dinner, taking the day to get yourself ready with an everything shower and full skincare routine. You made a day of it, pampering yourself after you had gone out to get the perfect dress. It complimented the color of Joe’s suit perfectly, while accentuating all of your favorite parts of yourself. It wasn’t anything too elaborate, but it made you feel confident and that’s what matters. You may or may not have also thought about Joe when picking it out, what he would think about when he saw you in it. You quickly shook the resurfacing thoughts from your mind as you slipped it on, careful not to mess up your look.

While you were applying the finishing touches to your look, your mind wandered to thoughts about yours and Joe’s friendship. You had met during one of his first classes when he transferred to LSU, asking you for directions to his next class. It happened that you were going the same way, offering to show him and the rest was history. On paper, you both were opposites, but that’s almost why you complimented each other so well. You matched one another's energy and could read the other like a book. It almost felt as if you didn't need to speak the thought out loud at times, able to tell what the other was thinking.

You and Joe had been there for each other all throughout college, being a support system and lifeline in the hard times as well as the biggest cheerleader for the highest highs. Through every breakup, Joe was always there to pick up the pieces he didn’t break, comforting you while giving you the praise he felt you deserved. Another thing you wrote off as him just being your best friend. No one wanted to see their best friend sad, so it was natural to want to cheer them up, right?

You were drawn out of your thoughts to the sound of your front door closing, signaling Joe had arrived.

“Hey Y/N, you ready to go?” he called from your living room, making his way through your apartment.

“Just a minute, I’m finishing up and we can head out” you called back, hearing his footsteps get closer as you spoke.

There was a sudden pause as the sound of Joe approaching got closer, turning to see him stopped in your doorway. He leaned his body up against the frame with his arms crossed over his chest.

“You look absolutely amazing, I love that we have a matching thing going on” Joe said as he looked you up and down, his gaze taking you in.

 It all felt like too much, turning your attention back to the mirror in front of you.

When you were leaving your apartment to get into his car, Joe placed a gentle hand around your waist to keep you steady in your heels as you walked across the pavement parking lot. Your skin felt like it was ablaze under his touch, finding yourself craving more of it as his hand dropped to get the door for you.

“Thanks” you mumbled, trying to regain your composure back as the night was just beginning.

The night drew on, Joe not letting you far out of his reach as he spoke with his teammates and other guests that were there. It felt as if you had a pull to one another, a sense of palpable tension between you in the air. Joe seemed to be a lot touchier than usual, tending to keep you close when one of his teammates would get a bit too close for what must have been his liking. It all felt like too good to be true, that he must have really wanted you near him

There was only what you could describe as a Joe shaped indentation in your life, making any man incomparable to the standard he set for you without even knowing. So many guys in the past few years have tried to take their shot with you, but you never let any of them get too feeling like they were missing something that you were looking for. Even the ones that did ended up breaking your heart, leaving you feeling a deeper hollow pit than before them. 

He was so close to you at the table, you could smell his cologne and feel the heat radiating off of his body that was clad so nicely in his suit, his arm slung protectively over the back of your chair as if he was staking his claim over you. It was taking so much willpower to not just lean over and say the most unspeakable things to him. To finally confess everything you’ve been feeling, wondering if he felt the same or if it would be a waste of time and ruin everything you created together.

In this moment, it felt like just the two were the only ones despite the room being so crowded with other guests. You leaned over, placing a delicate hand on Joe's thigh to test his reaction. You felt his muscles tense beneath your touch, close enough to hear his breath hitch in his throat. All signs were pointing in the right direction.

“Y/N” Joe said, his voice labored and breathy.

The way he says your name, stopping you in your tracks, short circuiting your mind for a moment. That was the kind of power he had over you, the ability to completely send your senses into overdrive without even realizing he was doing so. You tried your best to shut your mind off, taking the opportunity to tell him while you had the courage to do so.

“I don’t want you like a best friend” you spoke, voice keeping composure while trying to keep yourself from backing out.

Joe’s eyes closed as his head subtly dropped back against his chair. A quiet groan coming from his throat online loud enough for your ears only.

You leaned closer to his ear, keeping your body language as natural as possible with everything you’re feeling. Noticing how he was reacting to your words and proximity.

“I only bought this dress so you could take it off” your confidence shifting with a hint of seduction in your voice, sealing your fate to ending your friendship or starting a new chapter.

That seemed like the last straw for his own composure, not being able to contain his own building desire. Joe turned to look towards you, his gaze darkening from your confession, your grip tightening on his thigh as he tried to process the moment.

Without speaking, Joe stood from the table of his teammates and began gathering his things as he silently gestured for you to do the same. 

“I think we’re gonna get going guys, Y/N isn’t feeling too well so I’m gonna bring her home” Joe said casually, holding out a hand for you to take.

Everyone said their goodbyes and wished you well. The minute you were out of the vicinity from everyone, Joe heaved you over his shoulder and began to hustle towards the car.

“JOE” you yelped followed by a light chuckle, caught off guard by his actions.

He didn’t reply until he got you to the car, dropping you carefully to your feet and pressed your back against the car door.

He leaned close to your ear, causing a shiver to run down your spine as he spoke “you have no idea how long I've wanted you. First, I'm gonna get you home and we're gonna get you out of this dress so I can do all of the things I’ve only ever dreamt of doing to you. Then we can talk about where we want to go from here, but I sure as shit don’t want to go back to just being friends. Does that work for you, sweetheart?” 

You didn’t trust your voice in that moment, not knowing if words would come out if you tried and opted for a firm nod.

He backed away from the car, bringing you towards him so he could open the door for you.

“Get in mamas and buckle up, because once we get home, you’re in for a ride” closing the door before you could give him a response.

You were about to be in for a night you didn’t expect, but one that would change everything for the best.

I've heard a lot of theories about Caine's name, and while I'm not sure if anything's been confirmed by the creators (I don't use a lotta social media and stuffs so I'm not entirely in the loop if they've said things on there), but I have my own little theory. It's not really that complex or anything, but here goes nothing! This is based just on what was seen in the pilot, so I may be wrong about Caine's characterization. After all, we only have a little to go off of, so far!

So, I hear a lot of people mention the Cain and Abel story from the Bible, but I personally don't believe it is connected to that, so far.

I think it might be a reference to novocaine, an anesthetic which is most commonly used during dental procedures to numb an area of the mouth. It's not the most common drug used for dental procedures, since that's now lidocaine (which, well, also ends in CAINE), but it the most commonly known drug and used to be the most common. I mean, for one, Caine's head is literally a set of teeth with gums, and novocaine is injected into the cheeks or gums. The other reasoning I have for this is that while Jax, Pomni, Zooble (is her name is referencing something I just don't know what it is), and Gangle's names don't have much to do with their appearance, Kinger, Ragatha, and Bubble's names do. Kinger's a chess piece, Ragatha is based on a Raggedy Ann doll, and Bubble is... well, a bubble!

Another reason I have for this is a bit more metaphorical. Since Caine is and AI and the ringmaster, as well as the fact that he is clearly trying to keep the humans trapped entertained, he's essentially there to try to numb the fear, dread, and mental pain that being stuck in the Digital Circus causes. By distracting them with adventures, witty dialogue, and even going as far as to try to make a fake exit to keep them hopeful, he's basically doing what he can to just keep them sane so they won't abstract, even if he isn't the best at doing so. He can't get them out, he can't 100% for sure keep them from going insane, but he can provide mind numbing distractions and games to give them something... possibly with the hopes that someone outside the program may, one day, get them out. It's a bit like how novocaine can't *fix* the problem you're going to the dentist for. That's the dentist's job, not the anesthesia's. The novocaine can only numb you up while they do so.

EDIT/ADDITIONS: Another thing is that the reason why most modern dentists don't use novocaine is because, even though it is a minority of patients, some people have severe allergic reactions to novocaine. It is less likely to have a reaction to lidocaine, which is why most modern dentists use that, or other anesthetics, instead. This could relate to how Caine WANTS to help the people trapped, but due to his own obliviousness and habit for mischief, he more often tends to cause distress instead of joy or fun. He has every intention to help them, be it bringing joy or simply distracting them, but there is a flaw that is causing problems with him being successful at it.

a/n. i can’t stop thinking about formula 1 driver!geto and in honor of japan gp (that is only 4h away), here i bring my wild thoughts. i wrote this on a whim after seeing the qualifying results of today, lmao. unfortunately i really love this idea, so i hope i’ll be able to write a full and lengthy os one day — 🐣

F1 driver!geto who is the most successful driver in the whole season. age 27, suguru has already made a name for himself in the whole championship. shocking, entertaining and winning over the hearts of every single fan out there.

F1 driver!geto that started the season in melbourne with many problems with the car, but never once became a less dangerous competitor for the world drivers championship title. he managed to secure the podium at least in seventeen races out of twenty-one, his name becoming a guarantee for his whole team.

F1 driver!geto who is now racing for the very last race of the season, in one of the hardest circuits known to man in singapore. the humidity is high, the tension suffocating, the steering wheel slippery underneath the gloves. suguru has to survive two hours of pure adrenaline, remaining focused on the circuit and getting out of the twenty-three curves that create the circuit of marina bay.

F1 driver!geto who you easily spot amongst the waves of people starting to disappear from the box. the start of the race only measly hours away, and you can feel the pressure going up. higher than any other race you’ve attended until now. this is the finale and both the drivers have to do well to end the season in the top five at least.

F1 driver!geto with whom you’ve crossed paths with many times in the last year. it’s natural after all, you suppose. you’ve been working as haibara yū’s pr manager for two seasons now, marking probably the longest contract you’ve ever had with the formula one team. they have been impressed by your work and you’ve been more than happy to making it through so far.

F1 driver!geto who has always caught your attention from the beginning. a driver that left behind him only sparks in the narrowest of curves, the same ones that would proclaim him a hero all over again. you can see, as the people disperse inside the box, his gaze focused on the asphalt. his tight and firm hold over the steering wheel of the single-seater car.

F1 driver!geto that when locks his eyes with yours, make you feel weak and exposed all of the sudden. making your heart beat like that very first day you have met him.

F1 driver!geto that gets taken away together with haibara on the earned pole position from yesterday’s qualifying session. you watch him sprint from one of the many monitors of the box, his first lap time probably one of the best performances this season. you feel your knees tremble slightly as you bring your hands to your lips in a silent prayer: “please, let him come back safely from the circuit”

F1 driver!geto who is left on your hands for the upcoming press conferences as nanami is being called in the paddock for an urgent matter. you try to memorize the events listed on the paper left by nanami in a matter of three laps. three laps only to end this big and so anxiously awaited finale.

F1 driver!geto who takes home the golden ambitious prize of the season, earning his third consecutive title of world champion. and the scuderia becomes a complete mess once the car hits the finish line underneath the checkered flag, with never ending hugs and pats on each other’s backs for the hard work. haibara is confirmed fourth. you swear you saw tears of joy gathering on the corners of some engineers at the pit-wall.

F1 driver!geto that jumps out the car the moment he comes back on the pit-lane, indulging everyone’s excitement and answering back with more enthusiasm on his part. a japanese flag immediately being placed proudly on his tracksuit by his mother. a baseball hat taking over the place of the helmet in a blink.

F1 driver!geto whose party dies a little bit too soon once you grab his wrist and leads him down the hallway, telling him that he must reach the podium on the other side of the paddock in a few minutes. however, you don’t notice the smile that curls around his lips. a soft gleam in his eyes, dimming even further the heavy presence of adrenaline in his body.

F1 driver!geto that stops in his tracks and brings you closer with a hand on your hips, turning you around with a swift and smooth motion and making you yelp. “not even a kiss for your champion? that’s rude dear” and he’s teasing, you know he’s just teasing you. it’s infuriating. and yet, you fall for it once again. cupping his cheek with a hand and leaning in to kiss him. your emotions all over the place: worry, fear, happiness, excitement… love. your brain short circuiting as soon as your lips meets his, and you are acutely made aware of just how much he needed this tiny moment with you alone.

F1 driver!geto who announces publicly his relationship with you only a week later. a press conference at eight in the morning, only the two drivers of the scuderia sitting in front of the panel, and you can’t help but feeling giddy when you hear suguru confirming the rumors about a rumored relationship. your name sounding so soft coming from his lips. and you see the smile he gives, plastered on the TV screen, when he confirms his name for the next season. his adrenaline contagious. and you can’t wait to see him once again in the place he belongs to: the highest place on the podium after another great and successful season.

midnight thoughts (i hope i don't regret this)

Let me preface this by saying that these are just (very, very long) ramblings I’ve had in my head over the past few days and are MY opinions. I never post to Tumblr, but my level of emotional unhinged-ness right now needs an outlet so that I can process everything and feel, well, less unhinged.

I have never been this enamored with any celebrity or promo for a show like I have for this season of Bridgerton. Admittedly, I am a fan of the books and Penelope & Colin are my favorite couple. I’m going to age myself by saying that I read the series almost 20-ish years ago; past me could have never imagined I would actually get to see a Regency romance on my screen. Romances are for the girlies, and what the girlies like tends to be mocked, ridiculed, and not taken seriously - I’ve seen this time and time again across many different fandoms. I also really enjoy the tv series for being its own creative adaptation. I’ve liked many (though not all) of the changes they’ve made to the show; and I’ve liked all the little nods to the books that have been sprinkled in. Are the books or show perfect? Of course not, but that doesn’t mean I can’t love them for bringing me some entertainment and joy and escapism. I think that’s the beauty of it, I get to have the best of both worlds, so to speak. And for me personally, it’s been so fun to watch the press coverage over the past six or so months. As a fandom, I think we’ve been EXTREMELY well fed. 

Having Nicola and Luke as the leads has been a true blessing; I think/hope folks can tell how much they clearly love and understand their characters/roles. I know everyone has been talking nonstop about their chemistry and their close friendship, which I think is beautiful, truly unique and special. How can you not enjoy watching two people, who seem to genuinely like one other, talk endlessly about a project that they love and have poured so much into? And the way they have supported one another, not only during promo, but during their years of friendship? Astonishing, really. So while I am old enough to know better than to ship real people, I would’t blame anyone (myself included) if they got caught up in the whirlwind excitement and couldn’t help but wonder a sincere “What if?” (At least that was the case for me.) Isn’t that the beauty of hope and possibility and potential? Like, I knew rationally and intellectually that the likelihood of them being together was low, but damn if I didn’t feel giddy seeing their interviews, reading articles, and watching video after video.

“Oh, but it’s all PR!” they cry. Maybe, but like most of life, I don’t think it’s so simple or clear. I think there’s been a lot of nuance and perhaps some blurring of the lines during this promo tour. As long as we are respectful about it and realize that at the end of the day, the only opinions that matter in regards to their relationship are N & L’s, I don’t think some lighthearted dreaming is unheard of. We have to remember, though, that what we’re shown is only a fraction of their true selves, carefully and deliberately curated to accommodate their status as actors/celebrities/those in the public eye. 

(And yes, I know this is the internet and therefore everyone has an opinion - again, myself included. But I struggle to understand why some people think that their opinions should be deemed THE most important to the discussion or would have an impact on any type of outcome, especially in this particular scenario… I hope it’s obvious I’m referring to the very vocal people that chose to expend their energy in hateful, negative ways. Aren’t you exhausted?

However, as a longtime lurker, I have to admit it’s been absolutely fascinating reading all the different perspectives and takes on this too. I think reading other POVs and seeing people articulate points that challenge me and make me think is a good thing - again, as long as it’s all in a respectful manner. 

Also I have spent literal years curating and cultivating a social media bubble that doesn’t make me want to cry or give up on life. I don’t seek out negativity and hate - constructive criticism for a thing is a different matter. It may be “putting blinders up,” but honestly, real life can be a shitty enough place that I would like to spend my limited time online looking at cute things and learning or reading about stuff that makes me feel less alone in the world.)

Last week, I stayed off social media to avoid Bridgerton spoilers until I could watch Part 2. I did open Twitter on Thursday to check on something that was entirely unrelated, saw the absolute meltdown of a shitstorm brewing and quickly NOPED out of it. (I was also reminded of why Twitter scares me at times. And I'm not calling it X because that is stupid.) When I finally caught up over the weekend (both with Bridgerton and… all the other stuff 😅), I felt like I was experiencing mental and emotional whiplash.

Look, ultimately, I don’t know them personally and know even less about their private lives. As an outside observer (even though, yes, I have a vested interest in them), Nicola is fucking amazing and Luke seems to be a nice, sweet guy. I think they are each others support, and it has been mentioned many times that she has helped him deal with the intensity/anxiety of being in the spotlight this season. So here are some potentially hot takes: I just think, when they’re together, it’s like he’s a different, better person. When he soaks up even a little bit of her light (sorry, I had to), I can see all the qualities in him that she is constantly gushing about. But, and again this is my take on it, I also think he has a lot of growing up to do. I don’t know much about his supposed “hot/fuck boy summer,” but it seems to me that he’s perhaps going through his own Colin phase, which he can totally do. I genuinely want to see him and Nic succeed. However, I do think he’s got to get a better handling on his media image now (this whole thing reeks of a PR nightmare, but I need to take off my comms professional hat). The way this has all played out has been, imo, a clusterfuck. There are other issues that I’m also not going to get into at the moment. 

The thing that frustrated me the most is the timing of those “leaked” photos. You’re telling me that N&L went through SIX months of a - literal - worldwide promo tour, building up hype, doing countless interviews and appearances, etc., only to have these pap pictures “captured” on the night of the Pt. 2 London premiere??? And yes, while I’m aware there were rumblings of a gf being at various events/locations, I didn’t pay much attention to it (read: my curated social media bubble, lol). And I think the lack of confirmation up to that point from Luke and his team just mades things even more tricky/messy. So when the inevitable backlash played out online, piled on top of the hate Polin seems to get from many corners of the internet (Is it ship wars? Regular trolls just trolling? Polin and/or Lukola antis? People who, for whatever reason, don’t like the actors themselves or, worse, don’t like the creative choices/decisions made by the higher-ups and therefore deem it okay to spread hate online? All of the above, most likely.), I know I felt like I had been hit by a train.

Here’s my point: I think what should have been a moment of triumph and a joyous occasion for Nic, Luke, and Bridgerton season 3, was sadly overshadowed by the aforementioned shitstorm. And that’s a damn shame. Too many cast and crew put in a lot of time, effort, and blood sweat and tears, to pull this all together. I was happy with Season 3, which perhaps I will deep dive about in another post because this one has already spiraled out of control. Were there things I wished they had included or, rather, things that could have been left out? Yes, of course. But at the end of the day, I think we got a beautiful story led by two actors who love Polin as much as we do. And I cannot wait to see them back for Season 4. Plus, seriously, those viewing numbers alone should have been mostly what people are talking about. I hope all this doesn’t take away from the overall impact of the show and season.

I think it’s okay to be disappointed by all the stuff that has come out over the last few days. I think it’s perfectly human to want/need to process your thoughts and emotions. What is NOT OKAY is sending hate to anyone, period. And I hope you don’t let all that has happened sour your enjoyment of Season 3 and/or Polin.

Lastly, if you take anything away from this long ass post, it’s that Nicola is a GODDAMN QUEEN. Anyone who says otherwise is speaking slander and we do not stand for that in this house. She has carried herself during this time with grace, charm, and poise, consistently and constantly. And she is always ready for a mega fashion moment. She must be exhausted - already on to her next film/job but also perpetually online, and even stepping up to defend her costar. I may have to do a whole separate post just gushing about her and add to all the people already singing her praises. (And as a big fuck you to all the haters.)

Geez Louise, I clearly have a lot of feelings (more than I allowed myself to believe I did…). But I would love to hear what others think! Please, I need friends with whom I can have rational (okay, maybe slightly unhinged), spirited, deep analyses and discussion of this whole thing, or anything else we might have in common!

Another spectacular performance by Lyney and Lynette has brought huge smiles and loud cheers from the crowd, expressing utter satisfaction and glee from the magic they have witnessed once more.

It was no lie that Lyney was fond of the crowd cheering for them, it boosts his pride and confidence as a magician. It gives him strength to go further with magic, to bring joy to people, even if it's just for a while.

Dawn has fallen as the Opera Epiclese started to empty, the audience had started to make their way back home with a lingering excitement left in their souls, magic truly has such a strong impact. Some started to go home while some stayed, chatting with their friends, family, whoever as laughter filled the air. It was like music to Lyney's ears.

"Great Magician Lyney!"

A kid who happened to be an audience from today's performance waved at the magician who made his way out of the opera with his sister, or also known as his magic assistant. The little boy jumped excitedly as he shook his arms in the air, eager to be noticed by him.

"Hello there," Lyney did not fail to notice, that's a given. He waved back at the little boy and grabbed a card out of nowhere, making the child gasp as his eyes went wide as plates. Flicking the edge of the card with his index finger, Lyney pulled out a balloon from it, amazing the child further.

The distinct sound of the child's cheers immediately drew attention from other people, ending up creating another circle of audience.

Lyney chuckled and gave the white balloon to the kid, patting his head firmly. "You're the coolest magician in the whole world!" Beamed the child as he made sure he had a good grip on the string, jumping happily while the crowd clapped their hands along.

"Magician Lyney show us another trick!"

"Another one, encore!"

The magician placed a hand on his chest, wholeheartedly feeling warm from the crowd's cheering. Usually, he doesn't do any more tricks whenever he finishes a performance at the opera. But as he looks at the crowd cheering for him in glee, how could he say no? The crowd's happiness was, indeed, his happiness as well, after all.

Moments has passed as he showed the crowd small tricks here and their, erupting the joy and excitement further more, creating a lively evening. Twirling his hat on his index finger, he tapped it and white doves flew out, swimming in the air.

Lyney adored magic.

That was what he thought, until he saw you in the midst of crowd.

He felt like time has stopped the moment his eyes landed on your figure, your skin that illuminated from the light that the moon had radiated. The way your hair flowed along the wind as you walked past. You made his heart stop beating, but beat so fast at the same time.

It was Christmas morning, and you were awakened by the smell of cinnamon, coffee, and the twins' excitement about what they received in their stockings. You smiled as you slowly opened your eyes and adjusted to the dim light in your bedroom. You always looked forward to this time of year when the house was full of the people you loved.

You sighed as your eye caught the bruise around your forearm again, and you felt a gentle kiss on your shoulder.

"It's over, darlin'," you heard Jake's husky morning voice say behind you.

You turned to face Jake, his green eyes filled with concern and love. "I know," you whispered, managing a small smile. "I just need to remind myself sometimes."

Jake kissed your lips gently. "Take all the time you need. I’m here for you, and so is everyone else."

You nodded, feeling a little more at ease. "Thank you, Jake."

He smiled warmly. "Now, how about we get up and see what Santa brought everyone?"

You chuckled, the thought of the twins' excitement bringing a sense of joy. "That sounds perfect."

You both got out of bed, eager to join the rest of the family. It was a tradition for all to go to bed in matching pajamas and wear them all the next day. This years choice was buffalo plaid lounge pants and matching sleep shirts.

The house was buzzing with holiday cheer. As you walked into the kitchen, the delicious scent of cinnamon rolls and fresh coffee grew stronger.

In the living room, the Christmas tree sparkled with lights and ornaments, and the twins were already tearing into their stockings, giggling and chatting excitedly. Chuck and Cindy were in the kitchen, Cindy humming a Christmas tune as she prepared breakfast.

"Good morning, everyone!" you greeted, your voice filled with warmth.

"Merry Christmas!" the twins chorused, running over to show you their treasures.

Jake's mom turned from the stove, smiling brightly. "Merry Christmas! I hope you two slept well."

"We did," Jake replied, wrapping an arm around you. "Smells amazing in here, Mom."

"Thank you, dear. Breakfast will be ready in a bit. Why don't you two grab some coffee and join the kids?"

"Doc, here's your coffee," Chuck said, handing you your cup of decaf.

"Thank you," you replied as you grabbed the cup, taking a sip, savoring the rich flavor and feeling a sense of comfort.

You watched as Jake poured his coffee and then the two of you settled on the couch, the twins climbed onto your laps, chattering excitedly about their stockings. The room was filled with laughter, the twinkling lights reflecting the joy on everyone's faces.

You looked around, feeling a deep sense of gratitude. Despite the challenges of the past, this moment—surrounded by love and happiness—was everything you needed.

Jake squeezed your hand, his eyes meeting yours with a knowing look. "Merry Christmas, darlin'," he said softly.

"Merry Christmas, Jake," you replied, your heart full. "I love you."

"I love you too," he whispered, leaning in to kiss you gently. "Always."

The rest of the morning was spent unwrapping gifts, sharing stories, and enjoying each other's company. You received some cute gifts for the baby's room.

Wyatt grabbed a small box from under the tree. "Uncle Jake," he said as he walked over to him. "This one is for you."

Jake took it. "Thank you." He started to unwrap it, revealing a gold keychain with a circle that said, "Be safe, flyboy. We're home waiting for you." The other side bore your name, and the name "Junior."

Jake looked at you, puzzled. "Darlin', this is gorgeous. I love it, but who's Junior?"

Your hands started to fidget. "I know we haven't talked about names yet, but I was thinking Jake Seresin… Junior, if that's okay with you?" you asked, looking into his green eyes.

Jake's face lit up with a smile. "That's more than okay with me. It's perfect." He leaned in and kissed you, his eyes shining with happiness. He then looked at Wyatt and nodded.

Wyatt nodded back and went under the tree again, pulling out another small box. "Here you go, Aunt Y/N."

You reached out and took it, quickly looking at Jake. "This is from you?"

He smiled, and that answered your question.

Curious and excited, you carefully unwrapped the box, eager to see what Jake had chosen for you.

As you removed the wrapping paper, you revealed a small, elegant jewelry box. You glanced at Jake, who watched you with a twinkle in his eye, his smile broadening.

You opened the box and inside was a duplicate of your previous wedding ring. You looked at Jake.

"I know it's not the same one, but it's better. Look inside."

You took the ring out and looked inside. Inscribed were the words: "My ❤️ always."

Tears welled up in your eyes as you looked at Jake. "It's perfect," you whispered. You were about to slip it on your finger, but Jake gently took it from you and slid it on instead.

Looking into your eyes, he said, "You are my world, Y/N. I was a fool for treating you the way I did for four years. I am the luckiest man in the world to have you as my wife."

You smiled, feeling the warmth of his love wash over you. "And I am the luckiest to have you," you replied, leaning in for a heartfelt kiss.

The kiss was tender and full of love, a promise of a brighter future together. As you pulled away, the room was filled with the sounds of your family cheering and clapping, sharing in your special moment.

Wyatt, wide-eyed with curiosity, asked, "Why is everyone so happy?"

Cindy smiled and gently explained, "Because your Aunt Y/N and Uncle Jake love each other very much, and today is a special day for them."

The twins seemed satisfied with the answer and went back to exploring their new toys, leaving you and Jake to share a quiet moment together.

Jake held your hand, his thumb brushing over the newly placed ring. "Merry Christmas, darlin'."

"Merry Christmas, Jake," you replied, your heart full.

That afternoon, you and Jake walked out to the bunkhouse to thank the ranch hands who had stayed during the holidays.

Jake watched you as you interacted with the people who helped you with your day-to-day life.

Chuck, of course, was also out there, ensuring they had everything they needed. You asked them how things were and if they needed anything, grateful for their hard work and dedication. You loved these people like family and you couldn't ask for a better group of men.

On the way back to the house, holding Jake's hand, he gently pulled you closer, and you rested your hatted head on his shoulder.

"What's wrong, darlin'?" he asked.

You sighed. "Just enjoying this while I can," you responded. "I'm not looking forward to you leaving again."

He kissed the top of your hatted head. "I know," he said softly. "But I'll be back before you know it. And until then, we'll make the most of every moment we have."

You reached the back porch stairs that led to the other door in the mudroom, and gently walked up the stairs, opening the door.

The two of you took off your jackets and shoes, hung them up, and headed to the living room where family was relaxing. The twins were probably downstairs playing.

The doorbell rang, and you headed towards the front door. Opening it, you saw your attorney standing there.

"Mr. Dunby," you greeted.

"Y/N. Merry Christmas."

"Please, come in," you said, stepping aside to let him enter.

Mr. Dunby, a man in his late sixties with white hair and wiry glasses, nodded gratefully. "Thank you."

"I apologize for stopping by on Christmas, but I needed to talk to you, Chuck, and Mr. Seresin, if that's okay?" he explained.

"Of course! Let me go and get them. Make yourself at home," you said warmly.

Mr. Dunby removed his hat, jacket, and shoes before following you into the living room.

"Everyone, this is my attorney, Mr. Orville Dunby," you introduced as you entered the living room.

"Mr. Dunby, would you like some coffee?" Cindy offered kindly.

He smiled. "I would love some."

Cindy walked into the kitchen as you texted Chuck that he was needed. Jake walked up to Mr. Dunby.

"Mr. Dunby, I'm Jake," he said, extending his hand.

"Ah, Lieutenant Seresin! It's so nice to finally meet you," Mr. Dunby replied warmly as he shook Jake's hand.

You joined them. "Chuck is on his way. Please, have a seat."

Mr. Dunby sat in the open accent chair as Cindy brought him his cup of coffee and set it on the side table next to him.

"Again, I apologize for coming over on Christmas, but I read what you sent me. This man is nuts. He's protesting your marriage and claiming you had a full-on relationship with him," Mr. Dunby stated, his tone serious.

"That's absurd," Jake replied, clearly taken aback.

You exchanged a concerned look with Jake. "Yes, it's all baseless accusations. What are our options here?"

Just then, Chuck walked in from the mudroom. "Mr. Dunby," he nodded towards the attorney.

"You'll have to testify to what happened in Wyoming that year," Dunby explained. "You may have to revisit the," he paused before starting again. "The baby and what happened with you and Mr. Seresin."

Jake stepped closer to you, wrapping a protective arm around your waist. "That's fine. We can handle it."

Mr. Dunby nodded, looking at both of you with a mix of concern and determination. "We need to gather all the evidence we can to counter these claims. Any messages, emails, or witnesses who can testify to your relationship and the events in Wyoming will be crucial."

Chuck added, "I can vouch for everything that happened. I was there, and I saw how Dorian treated Y/N."

Jake tightened his grip on your waist, his eyes never leaving yours. "We'll do whatever it takes to make sure the truth comes out."

Dunby took a sip of his coffee before continuing, "I also recommend filing a restraining order against Dorian. This will help protect you and your family while we handle the legal side of things."

You nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and anxiety. "Thank you, Mr. Dunby. We'll start gathering everything right away."

Cindy, who had been quietly listening, spoke up, "We'll all help. This family sticks together."

Jake kissed the top of your head. "We won't let him get away with this. We'll fight back, together."

Mr. Dunby cleared his throat. "He's also claiming your current child is his."

"What?!" you and Jake exclaimed together.

"Can we request a psych eval on him? That's absolutely ludicrous! I got pregnant when…" you paused, realizing everyone was in the room. "Well, that's a story for another time."

Mr. Dunby nodded sympathetically. "We can certainly request a psychological evaluation. This kind of claim, given the circumstances, does raise serious questions about his mental state."

Jake looked furious. "That man has no right to make these accusations. He's delusional."

You took a deep breath, trying to steady your emotions. "We need to make sure he's held accountable for everything he's done. Not just for us, but for our child's safety."

Mr. Dunby nodded. "We'll move forward with requesting the psychological evaluation and gathering all necessary evidence to refute his claims. It's important to stay strong and united through this process."

Chuck spoke up, "We'll all do whatever it takes to protect Y/N and the baby."

Mr. Dunby stood up, gathering his papers. "I'll get started on the necessary paperwork. As far as I know he was unable to make his bond, so he's still in the jail in Wyoming." He paused. "Stay strong, and keep each other close. We'll get through this." He looked at you and Cindy. "Thank you for the coffee."

You smiled. "No problem. I'll walk you to the front door."

You stepped away from Jake and followed Mr. Dunby to the front door.

"Orville. Jake will be leaving for deployment in the next week. How is that going to affect the case?"

He sighed. "I don't really know, Y/N. When you first met Jake, you knew he had just finished at the Naval Academy, right?"

You nodded. "Yeah. He then left for training in Florida, and a few months after that, he was back home in Texas. I found out I was pregnant with the baby when he was stationed in Florida."

Dunby reached out and gently touched your shoulder. "I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this again, especially now that you and Mr. Seresin have just figured everything out and have a new baby on the way."

You took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the situation. "Thank you, Mr. Dunby. We'll get through this."

He nodded. "We will." He sat on the foyer bench to put on his shoes. "Well, I apologize for being the bearer of bad news on Christmas." He stood up and put on his coat.

You smiled. "It's okay. At least Max and Jake were able to find me to be home for Christmas."

"Good point," he said as he opened the front door. "Have a good rest of the day, Y/N."

"You too," you said as he went out the door and you closed it behind him.

You didn't hear Jake walk up from behind. "Y/N, you okay?"

You turned around. "Yeah. Just wasn't expecting this on Christmas."

He walked over and wrapped his arms around you, kissing you on the forehead. "We'll get through this."

You leaned into his embrace, finding comfort in his presence. "I know. Thank you for being here."

"Always," he said softly. "Now, let's go join the family and try to enjoy the rest of the day."

You nodded, taking a deep breath, and together, you headed back to the living room where your loved ones were waiting.

Y/N, the 10th and youngest member of TWICE, had always been known for her playful and mischievous personality. She brought laughter and joy to the group, and it was hard to resist her infectious enthusiasm. But it wasn't just the TWICE members who fell under her spell, it was also Minji, a member of the rookie girl group Newjeans and Y/N's girlfriend.

Minji had joined the music industry recently, and her relationship with TWICE's maknae was still relatively new. The other members of TWICE had been eager to meet her, curious to see how she could handle their kid's personality.

One evening, Minji was invited to stay the night at the TWICE dorm for the first time. Y/N had been excited about the prospect of spending the evening with her girlfriend and showing her where she lived. The other TWICE members, particularly the unnie line, were equally eager to see how Minji would handle Y/N's playful antics.

Jihyo cleared her throat and addressed Y/N, who was currently engaged in a playful tickling match with Minji.

Y/N pouted, her playful demeanour momentarily fading as she looked at Jihyo. 

Y/N - But Jihyo Omma, Minji just got here. I don't want to go to bed.

Nayeon chimed in, her tone filled with motherly affection. 

Nayeon - Baby, you have a busy day tomorrow, and we want you to be well-rested. Minji will still be here when you wake up.

Minji nodded in agreement, her playful smile never wavering. 

Minji - They're right, my love. We'll have plenty of time together. But you need your beauty sleep.

Y/N sighed dramatically, her shoulders slumping as she reluctantly agreed. 

Y/N - Okay, fine. But only if Minji helps put me to bed.

The members exchanged amused glances, impressed by how well Minji was handling Y/N's childish antics. Minji rose from her seat with a playful salute. 

Minji - I'm on the job. Let's get you ready for bed, babygirl.

Y/N grinned and jumped up, taking Minji's hand. They headed to SMC's room, leaving the other members to their evening.

Once inside the room, Minji helped her change into her pyjamas, a pair of cute and comfortable matching ones. Y/N's playfulness had yet to wane, and she bounced on the bed like an excited child. Minji laughed, finding Y/N's energy endearing.

Minji - You're such a handful, honey.

Minji teased, but her eyes were filled with affection.

TWICE's fireball pouted and tugged on Minji's arm, pulling her closer. 

Y/N - Cuddle with me, babe. I can't sleep without cuddles.

Minji happily obliged, lying down next to Y/N. They wrapped their arms around each other, and Y/N nuzzled her head against Minji's chest, sighing in contentment.

As Minji stroked her partner's hair and held her close, she couldn't help but feel a rush of love for the playful idol. The young girl's personality was one of the things that had drawn her to her in the first place. She knew that Y/N's playful side was just one facet of her complex personality, and she adored every part of her.

In the living room, the other members couldn't help but comment on the sweet scene they had witnessed. Jihyo and Nayeon, in particular, were pleased with how Minji had handled their youngest child.

Jihyo - They look so cute together! Minji is amazing with Y/N. She's patient and caring, just what our Y/N/N needs. *proud smile*

Nayeon - Yes, she's like the perfect partner for our sweet girl. I'm really happy for them. *nods*

The other members nodded in agreement, glad to see their little sister in a loving and supportive relationship. It was clear that Minji not only appreciated Y/N's playful side but also knew how to take care of her and help her get the rest she needed.

In Y/N's room, Minji held Y/N close, the two of them wrapped in each other's warmth. Y/N's playful antics had given way to a peaceful expression as she snuggled with Minji.

Y/N - Goodnight, my heart. *whispering as she kissed the other girl*

Minji - Goodnight, lovebug. 

Minji replied, pressing another gentle kiss to Y/N's lips. 

As they drifted off to sleep in each other's arms, they knew they had found something truly special in each other. And this made both share the same thought:

I'll love my dear chosen family forever.

Does it ever feel pressuring (no pun intended) to work on a show with such a legacy and history as SpongeBob?

VERY much so, but in a good way, if such a thing exists! one of our mantras on our little storyboard plussing team is “pressure makes diamonds” and it is a very applicable saying

when i first started, i was TEEEEERRRIFIED! i really felt like i had no idea what i was doing, and there have been so many times where i’ve turned in a section and genuinely thought “oh my god they’re gonna fire me for this it’s so bad.” working in animation is frazzling enough! but not only are we working on a cultural mecca, with not only the kids of today to entertain, impress and inspire, but to maintain the integrity of the series and entertain/impress/inspire the kids like us who grew up with the show, we are also working with literal animation legends and animation veterans!! it’s pretty surreal to be working on the same show as someone like Bob Camp, who’s been in the industry for 40+ years… and even more surreal when he says he’s a big fan of your work 😵‍💫‼️‼️‼️‼️

THANKFULLY, i’ve made a lot of strides in curbing some of my storyboarding stage fright. it used to be really bad when i started, like genuinely panic attack inducing! the constant patience and guidance and encouragement of my peers and consistent practice from these past three years have really allowed me to grow and blossom. now, when i feel a bit claustrophobic in remembering the pure scale of what we’re doing, i weaponize it for good!!

i think of how inspired and amazed and obsessed with SpongeBob i was as a kid. how it inspired me to draw, how i remember drawing along to episodes and commercial breaks. my brother and his wife are both elementary school teachers and routinely update me about how their kids are still crazy for SB (and they both brag about me to their kids heheh). i think of all the kids watching, all the kids realizing that getting to draw these characters and interact with them and live in their world is something you indeed can do, all the kids who religiously catch each new episode like i once did… it just fills me with so much confidence and hope and love, and that motivates me to deliver and do my best and try to do what i can to help make each episode be better and more fun than the last

SpongeBob is for everyone, obviously! that’s one of the great things i love about working on it: i get just as much enjoyment watching our finished episodes as our target audience. but i do bring up the kids particularly often because, at the end of the day, that is who we are doing it for and i also just can’t help but think back to how my SpongeBob obsessed self as a kid would have had her world rocked to know i’m doing what i’m doing. i want to give those kids, who i used to be and still essentially am, the same joy and spark and all consuming inspiration i felt and still do

there are definitely some days where the gravity of what we’re doing hits harder than others! some days are a lot more difficult than others. this is an absolute dream job, i’m not just saying that, i always fantasized about maybe one day being able to work my way up to working on SpongeBob and now it’s my first animation job—but it is very easy to get overwhelmed by just how big of a legacy we’re carrying on our shoulders! how many other mega talented people work on this show! there’s a lot to juggle. but we juggle it well. there is so much love and heart and care poured into this show. we do everything we can to maintain the integrity of the characters and the show’s core, and it just makes me love what i do all the more and makes me more determined to do it

TLDR: YES! but i’m much better off for it, because it reminds me of why we’re working so hard to begin with. we all want this show to be the best it can—to maintain its core 25 years later, but still have fun doing it. i mentioned this on Twitter, but when i met Bill Fagerbakke last month he was saying how cool it is that fans who grew up with the show are now able to work on it and i couldn’t agree more. it’s the greatest honor imaginable being able to carry such a monumental torch, and i hope i’m able to keep at it for a long, long time.

As someone who’s recently delved into the anime community, I’ve noticed a profound connection many fans have with characters like Itachi and Sasuke. Their stories are undeniably tragic, and it’s clear they hold a special place in the hearts of many.

I’m curious about the depth of affection and empathy for these characters, considering they are fictional. What is it about their journeys that resonates so deeply with you? Is it not challenging to experience heartache over their struggles and sacrifices on a daily basis?

From my perspective, anime is a source of enjoyment and escapism. While I understand the impact of these characters, I wonder if focusing on their sorrow might overshadow the joy and adventure that new anime series can bring.

Itachi’s tale has concluded, and Sasuke’s safety is assured within the narrative. Wouldn’t exploring new stories potentially enrich our lives with diverse experiences and emotions?

I hope this question comes across as sincere and not dismissive of your feelings. I’m genuinely interested in understanding the emotional bonds fans create with these characters.

Any piece of media that explores emotions and emotional bonds between characters is likely to click with a lot of people and leave profound impact on them. I'm not into anime or TV in general either, so I haven't seen many shows except for a handful few I can count on the fingers of my one hand.

To me, personally, while both Itachi and Sasuke are special because they're well written, there's also a kind of relatablity factor.

Sasuke grew up being compared to Itachi, no matter how hard he tried he didn't get the acknowledgement he deserved, because his brother was considered better than him. Maybe Itachi was better than him in skills and knowledge, but Sasuke was a different person with a different personality who shouldn't have been compared with Itachi at all. I've been through the same. Being compared with my classmates, friends repeatedly no matter how hard I worked. It just wasn't enough for some reason. It poisons you from inside and leaves you feeling insecure with a lot of sell-esteem issues. We know Sasuke went through them.

It's the same with Itachi. Kids experience different versions of parents. Older kids meet more immature and flawed versions of their moms and dads. The mistakes parents made with them aren't repeated with the second and third-borns. That doesn't mean it doesn't damage the older children who didn't ask to be born and bear the brunt of their parents' traumas. They're older so no they're expected to take the burdens and the responsibility. They kind of become mother and father to their younger siblings but more tender ones.

That's how Itachi and Sasuke's relationship before the massacre was as well as Itachi's relationship with his parents. I find this very relatable. The way he's not allowed to voice his opinions yet he cares about his brother. His ideals aren't really considered relevant, and his feelings don't matter to any adult in his life. That is so, so, so relatable to me. I learned a lot about my relationship with my parents when I watched and analyzed Itachi's with his parents. I learned to forgive my own parents after that. This is getting a little personal, but yeah, it happened. I don't feel as angry and bitter with them as I did before I watched Naruto last year.

Other than that, there are people who watched Naruto and also other anime, and they love these two along with the characters from other anime. I'm just not all that interested in it even though, yes, more stories would mean more entertainment. But I'm not someone who moves on easily from things and people.

Plus, I like the 'flavour' of angst some characters provide. It's hard to explain in the words, but it's like seeing colours. And it doesn't happen with every character I read about or watch. With Itachi, I 'see' red colour, and yes, it's the colour of his susano'o as well, but I'd had this feeling about him before it was introduced. It's like his aura that has some kind of purity to it. It doesn't have anything to do with his morals or how I perceive them, but something else. With Sasuke, it was bluish-purple. Again similar to his susano'o, but I'd had this 'vision' about his aura from the beginning. A character from a show in my country made me think of transparent snowflakes - pure and unblemished, and when his character was ruined, I started to see the 'muddied static' and I lost the connect with him. It never happened with Itachi or Sasuke. I love them both so much.

And I don't think I'm missing out on anything by not watching other anime. They might have other well-written characters that I might fall in love with too, but I love what Sasuke and Itachi make me feel. They're my comfort characters and they're therapeutic to me too, and they both feel very personal to me. Their pain made me feel less lonely. I don't really have friends irl (not the ones I can talk to when I feel alone), okay, this is getting even more personal but yeah so I spend my time either reading or writing. And it's also probably because if you've been depressed for too long, this kind of pain becomes addictive. So I need something to latch on to because I don't want to go to therapy.

This whole answer probably hasn't made any sense, because I don't know.. I tried my best, I swear.
