I don't think so? but we haven't actually seen him walk or anything (the sprites just zwoop around the screen like everyone's on skateboards), so no indication he doesn't either! no reason it can't be headcanon. :D

the first part of the event was pretty much all setup, so we still don't really know anything about him or Gidel at this point! we might learn a bit more when the next part comes out tomorrow (but more likely it'll be in part 4, maybe some crumbs in part 3 if we are lucky) (I am expecting part 2 to be standard "walk around and look at stuff and talk about it forever" event filler with perhaps a dramatic cliffhanger to hook us for next week) (but who can say for another...checks watch four and a half hours, wow, that next part really snuck up huh)

When discussing whether Angbang should be shipped as a healthy or abusive relationship, I think it’s important to first remember not to attack others if their opinions differ from yours. Even if you find a fanfic or fanart cringey or OOC, it doesn’t hurt anyone (unlike harassment or bullying). The best approach is to find a circle of fans who share your tastes and stick with them.

That said, in my opinion, it’s hard to imagine this ship being 100% healthy and wholesome. However, I don’t mean it in the sense of "Melkor tortured, abused, and raped Mairon because that’s how all villains should behave." If that’s how you prefer to portray their dynamic, I won’t lecture or attack you—I’ll just stay away because it’s not my cup of tea. But I also expect the same in return: not to be mocked or harassed for preferring a fluffier dynamic, just being ignored if you don't agree with my headcanons.

Their relationship lasted so long, and they went through so many troubles. Plus, the inherent power imbalance isn’t easy to ignore or sweep away. I imagine their dynamic as one where they don’t intentionally try to hurt each other, but things don’t always go smoothly because their lives were far from rainbows and sunshine.

It’s possible to love someone and still hurt them out of anger, misunderstanding, or pride. And two dark lords aren’t likely to sign up for couples’ therapy. Naturally, ups and downs would be part of their relationship, but I like to think they both valued their bond and sought ways to fix things when they went wrong.

We know from canon that Mairon "desired Melkor’s triumph while he still stood," and I don’t want to imagine him being treated like dirt yet remaining loyal without a change of heart. He doesn’t strike me as the kind of character who would stay devoted to someone who humiliated him (again, just my opinion).

It’s also a matter of personal preference, but I don’t think villains being capable of love automatically makes them morally gray or excuses their crimes in canon. Instead, it adds layers to their characters. Hidden sides of their personalities, revealed only to someone they deem worthy, can make them more interesting.

The main point is to do whatever makes you happy. None of us owns these characters; we’re just playing with them like Barbie dolls. Some might dress them in pretty outfits, while others turn them into Weird Barbie—and that’s perfectly fine.

I love her little self soothing palp movement and how she tippity taps things.

Today was the first time she's been out in about 3 weeks- she holed herself up in a nice hammock to molt and just came out a week ago. I fed her once she kicked the molt out, and I've been sitting with her with the cage open daily since. Today she was brave!!

She's also practically doubled in size! She's SO big now compared to her i8 size. She's supposed to move into the bigger enclosure but I still have a few things to get and put in before she can go in, and she couldn't go in there until she was willing to come out of the sling box. I'm hoping she'll come out for a little daily now that she remembers it's okay, so I can move her in before her next molt.

Just thought of some hurt comfort after the ridiculous day i had, like reader being at the limit of their patience and a simple small thing breaking the straw and having them breaking down from stress? anxiety? being overwhelmed? just all of that and fl seeing them and panicking, what does he do? who hurt them? and all reader wants is comfort and maybe a quiet place.

also idrk if this is where i read it from but laying down on his chest and he makes those soft rumbles that are like cat purrs? Immaculate.

honestly, Foul Legacy initially panics when he sees you in such a state, too. his brain just momentarily short circuits, overcome with worry and fear and a need to help, his instincts screaming at him to make you feel better, make things right. but he snaps back to reality with a fierce shake of his head, approaching you slowly and kneeling to your height with a soft, tentative croon. when you only gasp for breath, Legacy leans in and gently nudges his head against your shoulder before carefully gathering you into his arms. his touch is light and delicate so he doesn't alarm or startle you, claws running gingerly up and down your spine as he begins to purr. it's a constant, steady sound, your ear pressed against the ruff of fur around his shoulders, and the quiet rumble slowly brings you back to earth, grounding you like a soft cocoon as you blink, exhausted

Foul Legacy's arms are wrapped gently around you, keeping you close and surrounding you so it's just you and him, no one else. his talons move from your back to your face, giving your cheeks little nudges and pokes to keep you from slipping back into a daze, even a few sweet licks here and there. you just want to sleep, that's all- sleep somewhere safe and warm and away from everyone but him, and Legacy purrs soothingly, taking careful hold of your wrist and bringing your hand to rest over his heart. it beats with a steady, echoing thump, a pulse amidst the vibrations of his rumbles. Legacy gently pulls you down, snuggling you next to him and tucking the blankets all around your body. you snuggle up to his chest, and his face presses against the top of your head with a relieved sigh, holding you close and firm so you can sleep your worries away

tomorrow, he'll find out if someone hurt you. but for now, your comfort is more important

ok, The Day of Going Forth, right?

It celebrates journeys, rebirths, and revelations

I'm thinking its probably celebrated toward the end of spring rather than the beginning. no particular reason for that besides its fuckimg cold here at the beginning of spring and I'd rather not be near any body of water until its at least 15°C outside.

so I've decided it's celebrated on the first New Moon in May, which makes it May 26th this year for anyone who wishes to celebrate alongside me

why the first new moon, I'm sure you're wondering. why not a set date? it celebrates the day the promised bride looked into the river and saw the trawlerman, so should it not have a set day?

well... this feels like the Parish of Tide and Flesh's Easter to me. so that was why I decided it should be based off of the lunar cycle as well. The new moon is both the beginning and end of the lunar cycle, and is a very clearly defined transition (as opposed to a half-moon, for instance). For those unfamiliar with the term, the new moon occurs when the moon is directly between the sun and the earth, meaning you cannot see it in the sky. With this absence, it is as though the vast darkness of the night sky, not unlike that of the river, has devoured the moon, and in a days time it shall be returned anew.

for any of my dear siblings reading this who might be interested in celebrating, but aren't sure how or where to start, don't fret, I have a few suggestions to help get the ideas flowing

first, and what I would hope to be the most obvious, is to reflect on the story of the promised bride and what you can learn from it. I may share the story and give a small sermon on The Day of Going Forth, for those interested, but you can always revisit Chapter 6 of The Silt Verses for Katabasian Mason's telling.

but of course, this is to be a day of celebration.

Surround yourself with your friends, or family. Spend some time by the river. For my siblings who are of age, treat yourselves to some schnapps -or any other drink of your choice-

We're all on our own journeys, and The Day Of Going Forth is the day for you to celebrate the progress you've made on yours. No matter how small your most recent milestone may seem, this is your excuse to be proud of it.

you know, i always find it really funny when dudebros complain about syndicate and odyssey being too "jokey" or not "taking its characters seriously" or whatever��

like, did y'all collectively sleep through "it's-a me, mario!", "i meant besides vaginas", ezio inventing the latte, bartolomeo's... just... *gestures vaguely* entire character, etc?

like, it's fine to have preferences of course, i myself prefer a more serious and grounded tone, but these are usually the same people who tout the ezio trilogy as "peak assassin's creed", call ac1 a glorified tech demo and hate on connor for being "too serious and boring", like? make it make sense!

for those of you who say izzy's redemption arc came out of nowhere, maybe you just weren't paying enough attention this past year to realize that it was always going to happen. if you look past your bias, you will notice david jenkins has always been pretty open about loving izzy's character, to the point he has told us to rewatch season 1 solely to pay more attention to izzy and his motives.

if you need to claim that the writers are catering to izzy fans' wishes, when most of the fandom hated him after season 1 to the point of calling his fans abuse apologists (among other things) and sending them death threats, maybe you need to sit with yourself and realize you just don't like this show and the message it tries to get across. it's a show that points out how everyone is worthy of love and acceptance, even when they've done awful things in the past (sound familiar?). what matters is the growth that comes afterwards.

one point i agree with is that izzy's character arc is rushed, but for different reasons. we all know that hbo max cut down on the show's budget and doesn't pay their writers properly, which is the whole reason why they reduced the cast and the episodes to 8 instead of 10. this season has been affected in more ways than one, it's not just izzy's arc. episode 7 is proof of that.

you don't have to like izzy, but it's stupid to claim he's irredeemable when every single character is a pirate and they've done terrible things to get to where they are. you don't need to keep on being stuck on episode 10 of season 1 and ignore everything that's happened since.

i guess what i'm trying to say is that all we ask is that you are minimally respectful to us, fans, and especially to the cast and writers, because without them ofmd wouldn't exist.

I do have a question though. Is the whole General Shepard cameras thing still is part of the story? I feel like the buildup was so good and then it just disappeared and became unimportant. Like if the guys never find out about it, it's whatever.

I dont mean this as an insult to your writing at all, but I'm just wondering if it's gonna come back at all since it's been so long since it's been thought about by the mc.

Okay so this'll be the last post I make regarding Critical Role until c3e119 airs since while the antipathy and, for lack of a better word, deflation revolving around 118 has been a little disheartening, I do want to throw a few things that continue to bounce off the inside of my head out there before we get to the next episode;

I don't think it's needed (as someone who very much wants them all to survive - including ones I like less than others - and be able to continue figuring themselves out) for BH to die or be betrayed or be subject to additional punishment to justify what's happening. This fight IS their punishment, their consequence, their Finding Out after Fucking Around

Also, if the gods refuse to help BH - if asked - it proves Ludinus right. Refusing aid would indicate that they really are picking favourites out of self interest, plus the taking on Predathos option was only proposed to BH by one of their own, so it'd be double scummy

Campaign 3 has still had some great, funny and heartbreaking moments that we shouldn't forget about just because these current events are fresh, plus C1 and 2 weren't perfect - worth reminding that too

Honestly, if FCG were alive the same thing would've happened anyway; Matt would've made the coin flip be indecisive so the cast could make the choice and Imogen would've chosen the same way

While we definitely could've built to this better, this fight will provide the floor for BH to confront a key character motivation; be it preventing the overtaking and corrupting influence of a malicious or feral psyche, having to decide whether to trust that their ally can overcome it or follow through with what a superior entrusted them to do as a countermeasure, or simply trying to protect and prevent another friend from dying - which, alongside the likely map change and expected unique minis, is actually kinda exciting

Just, let's go into 119 with an open mind, okay? They have to earn it for sure but it's not over until it's over.
