im not a writer but i still wrote a talljake fic bc im gay

On a quiet dusk afternoon an old ginger tom sat atop a fence, staring into the sky. From within his housefolks nest he heard the excited mewls of the newest addition to their home. Jake got along plenty well with the young kit, but they couldn’t help but remind him of his own growing age. As his thoughts drifted to an old friend he had long since said goodbye too, His paws itched and his heart pulled at him. it had become a somewhat familiar feeling since he had come to realize the time limit on his life, he greatly wished to see him before it was all over. 

Jake was well aware of the fact his housefolk would miss him- how could he not with how they had reacted after his return from his first (and last) great adventure. But, he was old and as strange a thing to face as it was, it wasn’t as though he was going to be around much longer in any case. He had already taken his time to teach what he could to the youngin, and easily trusted them to care for and comfort his housefolk in his absence. It's never too late for paws to switch their path the voice of another old friend, long since gone, drifted through his head. With a final determined huff, Jake jumped from the fence and began his trip to a place he had not seen in many moons- the moors.

Once in the past he had lived beside the forest, but his housefolk had since moved quite far and the journey through concrete allies had tired him. Jakes paws ached as he hid and rested within thunderclan bushes. Peaking out as he waited for a patrol to pass, a flash of ginger caught his attention. The cat leading the patrol, strangely familiar. Unprompted the memory of a small fuzzy lump he had only ever seen once nuzzled up beside nutmegs belly entered his mind. He shook his head at the idea- he knew first hand how much distaste thunderclan held for house cats- so called kittypets. The patrol passed and jake put it out of his mind, pushing on towards fourtrees.

It was almost as breathtaking as the first time he had seen it only now it felt much more empty, lonely, without warm fur pressed to his own. The memory urged him on through the exhaustion of a sleepless night full of travel. Pausing for only a second, he stepped past the sent markings of windclan. Jake almost expected the whole clan to suddenly emerge from the tall grass to pin him down, however the only wind here to meet him simply ruffled his fur. Unsure of where else to head he simply pushed on, walking deeper into the territory. It was only now, tail lengths deep into the moor, that he realized he had really not made much of a plan. Padding through the grass his heavy pawsteps unused to stealth was the only disturbance to the serene atmosphere. That is, until a shout rang through the brisk dawn air. 

“Firestar! what are you-” the stranger stopped the second he got close enough to realize his mistake, the rather friendly tone quickly turned tense “what are you doing on windclan territory kittypet”

Jake forced his fur lay flat “good morning! I’m Jake, I’ve come to see Talltail?” he kept his tone light, hoping to show he was friendly and meant no harm

The cat blinked at him, seemingly confused “do you mean… Tallstar? what business could you possibly have with him”

Tallstar his heart leapt, a sense of pride grew in his belly he's become leader! lost in the warm glow for a moment, Jake just barely recovered before the clan cat could prompt him again

“He is an old.. friend of mine” he purred “I simply wish to see him again before im gone”

Shifting his paws uncomfortably, the stranger was clearly conflicted on what to do. After a pause the cat turned back towards the direction he had come from in the first place.

“Then i will take to to our camp then i suppose, I can’t have you aimlessly wandering windclan’s territory” he said, still tense and only slightly less standoffish, taking a few steps before adding “im Onewhisker”

“Nice to meet you Onewhisker” Jake replied happily, following behind the young tom.

“Tallstar is on a hunting patrol right now” a black tom said tensely, shifting his weight from a twisted paw as he eyed up Jake, before shooting an irritated look towards his clanmate who had led him into the camp

“Ah…. i see” he felt a pebble of disappointment settle in his belly, but he quickly shook it away, pushing past the clan cats and plopping down in the middle of the windclan camp. Jake sighed “I guess I will just wait for him then” after all he thought i have already waited many moons, what is a couple more heartbeats?

the other cat was clearly displeased, but jake simply ignored him and all the suspicious looks he was getting from the various other windclanners in the camp, choosing instead to stretch and begin grooming himself. Relaxed as he looked he tried to stay alert, perfectly aware that he could easily be in danger. Though that effort did not last long as he felt himself relaxing for real even under the watchful eyes. How could he stay on edge when these where Talltail… no, Tallstar’s clanmates, he couldn’t help but trust them.

Tallstar crouched low to the moors, nose twitching as he searched for prey sent. It had not been an unusual day, though he was getting old he still enjoyed the thrill of running through the grass and tried to get out when he could. Today he was hunting near fourtrees with mudclaw and his apprentice, enjoying the wind in his fur. 

At least- he was, until a familiar but entirely unexpected sent hit him. He blinked in disbelief unsure if he should trust his own nose. It was a sent he would never forget, how could he when it filled so many of his dreams? Tallstar’s heart pounded and he barely took the time to shout back at his brown tabby companion that he needed to check something before he was tearing through the countryside- is paws thumping at full speed, following the trail.

Long legs carried him to camp in no time at all, all the while thoughts swirled in his head- there was- no way- is he really? He pushed through the entrance, blind to the shocked glances his clanmates sent him and the sudden appearance and heavy rise and fall of his chest. For there, in the clearing, sat someone he hadn’t expected to ever see again no matter how he hoped. Older now, but undeniably the same handsome ginger tom he had always been. Tallstar barely registered this before his body was already automatically moving, running full speed into him a loud purr filling his throat as his tackled the unsuspecting kittypet.

At the sidelines windclan sat shocked, many with their claws out ready for battle only to hear the laughter of their leader. Tallstar was blind to this of course, his eyes only for his dear old friend. He lifted himself off of the winded but similarly shiny eyed tom, only long enough to allow for him to sit back up before pressing himself against the tom once again

“Jake!” he couldn’t keep the excitement, the delight, out of his voice “what are you doing here” he asked, burying his face into fur just as soft as he remembered it.

“I thought it was about time I visited!” Jake laughed before licking between the black and white toms ears

they sat for silent moment, just basking in each others presence, feeling warm fur long missed.

suddenly, as though all at once becoming aware of all the stares on them, Tallstar stood up straight. Looking into Jakes eyes, he purred “we have so much to catch up on, come- let’s talk in my den” he turned, leading the way into the cozy cave, ginger tom close on his heels, leaving a confused windclan behind

Wh about honeyflame for niki? Or mayhaps honeyheart but she changed it after things happened (or whatever the equivalent to burning the lmantree in your au is)

I want to avoid names that have fire or anything fire related cause it feels like it's just narrowing it down to her burning down the tree. Honeyheart is a cute name though! :D It shows her kindness and loyalty to her loved ones.

Howdy, uhh is it still cool to talk about the Longtail kills rusty AU??? I thought a really cute warrior name for Princess would be Honeyheart. After she and Longtail become mates, Longtail would fall her Honey for short??

Rose/Rosepaw/Rosefrost (Rosar Braddock) - a tall, lanky she-cat with white fur and distinct gray markings on her back as well as a gray stripe down her tail, gray rings around all four legs, and gray toes. her eyes are a pale sky blue and sightless. her build is slender compared to her height, but she is a strong cat with hard muscles. her top canine teeth stick out, her nose is bright pink, and her fur is kind of long. (currently in ThunderClan)

Lionclaw (Finlos) - a giant golden tom with thick fur, especially around his neck. his eyes are amber, a few shades darker than his fur. his paws are big and his claws are longer than most. (in StarClan)

Honeyheart (Avei) - a pale gold she-cat with green eyes. larger than her son, Lionclaw, and fluffier. (in StarClan)

Leaf (Leaf) - a multi-colored she-cat. tan and orange fur, a cream belly with brown spots, and faint stripes on her back and bolder stripes on her tail, face, and legs. Just as big as her littermate, Honeyheart (currently not in a Clan)

Brackenheart (Ianthe Braddock) - a small but strong brown tabby she-cat with black stripes and amber eyes. her fur is somewhere between long fur and short fur, her nose black, and she has the air of a mother. (in StarClan)

Duskclaw (Amary Braddock) - a black she-cat with thin brown stripes on her back and down her tail, along with brown rings down her legs. her eyes are a dark amber, darker than her mother’s. her left ear has a notch in it, her right has a deep tear. there’s a long, thin scar from her shoulder down to her belly

Smokestripe (Terran Braddock) - a large light gray tom with smoky blue eyes. he has darker gray curling stripe markings on his back and down his tail. he is both tall and has broad shoulders. (in StarClan)

Fawnstep (Eira Braddock) - a light brown tabby she-cat with a pink nose and delicate build and long tail. she’s slender and lithe with a delicate face and light amber eyes.

Wolfstar (Adair Braddock) - a huge light gray tom with blue eyes and distinctive dark gray markings, including rings around his legs, odd stripes down his tail, and a blaze on his forehead. 

Maplesplash (Lumi Rosewood) - a bright ginger fluffy she-cat with lighter ginger stripes and bold green eyes. 

Heronwhisper (Barrow Reeves) - a tom with light gray and cream splotches. one blue eye, one amber eye. he has a fairly delicate face. 

Tansysong (Marigold Reeves) - a fluffy cream she-cat with blue eyes and a gray patch over her ear 

Bluebird (Bau) - a cat with blue-gray fur and almost silvery-blue eyes. looks suspiciously like the former ThunderClan leader Bluestar. 

Emberstorm (Kimcy) - a dark gray fluffy tom with broad shoulders and amber eyes and a notch in his left ear. 

Dustbreeze (Jayah) - a lithe tan she-cat with darker brown splotches on her body and green eyes.

Pinelight (Athum) - a tan tom with a brown patch on his back and tail, and brown on his paws. 

Flintheart (Erihhn) - an  elder gray tom with a white tail tip and blue eyes. his muzzle is graying. 

Harenose (Jeris) - a brown tom with black spotted stripe patterns all over. there’s a scar over his left eye, but his right eye is amber.

Sunpaw/Sunblaze (Rialzi) - a ginger she-cat with darker ginger/brown spotted stripe pattern similar to her father’s. 

Nightwing (Warin) - a black tom with fluffy fur and gray fur on his tail, face, and ears. blue eyes. 

Hawkscar (Culraes) - a brown tom with black fur around his throat, chest, and a stripe down his back and stump tail. amber eyes and scars scattered around his body. his front left paw is limp and useless. 

Shadowfang (Jayi) - a blue-gray she-cat with black tabby markings, tons of scars on her sides, blue eyes, and a black collar around her neck that has claws and teeth in it (Scourge mimic much?)

Meadowdapple (Sazai) - a calico she-cat with green eyes. most of her splotches are ginger but there are some black splotches on her fur!

Fernspeck (Lei-ya) - a black she-cat with ginger specks all over. she has a stumpy tail and white paws and muzzle. 

Leopardkit (Tasiriti) - a tiny light brown she-cat with black leopard markings and green eyes.

Badgermask (Taedhe) - a black tom with a white stripe down his back, long claws, a set of claw mark scars on his face, and green eyes.

HI YEA OK SO I MADE AN AU HOPE YALL LIKE IT (some tidbits abt them underneath!!!)

Crowpaw (Connor Murphy | WindClan Apprentice [Moor Runner]) - Crowpaw is a little on the wily side. He is often squabbling with his Clanmates, but it’s nothing too serious.

Ravenpaw (Zoe Murphy | WindClan Apprentice [Moor Runner]) - Ravenpaw is Crowpaw’s sister, and is much more tame than he is. She’s a very outgoing cat, and very easy to get along with. Talk crowfood about her brother, though, and you better watch out.

Elmpaw (Evan Hansen | WindClan Apprentice [Tunneler]) - Elmpaw is...not exactly what a typical WindClan cat should look like. He’s short, he’s stubby and a little bit...husky. But, nonetheless, his Clanmates treat him as one of their own. Crowpaw and Ravenpaw are defensive of him, though, so watch what you say about him.

Nightpaw (Alana Beck | RiverClan Apprentice) - Nightpaw, while she looks friendly, can be a little on the fence with most cats. Her helpful attitude can come of as discriminating to others, but she means well, truly!

Acornpaw (Jared Kleinman | ThunderClan Apprentice) - Oh, no. Acornpaw is very arrogant and boastful (not unlike ThunderClan, as some cats would say). He doesn’t consider many cats’ feelings at first, but when he sees he’s done something wrong, he tries to make up for it. Just. Not out loud.

Honeyheart (Heidi Hansen | ThunderClan Medicine Cat) - Honeyheart is a very sweet and kind cat. She’s willing to help anyone out, mentally or physically, as she’s had it rough herself. Elmpaw has sometimes caught glimpses of her near the border. He wonders why she’s there so often...suspicious.

Breezefoot (Larry Murphy | WindClan Deputy [Moor Runner]) - Breezefoot a respected warrior among all the Clans. Fierce in discipline and in protecting his Clanmates, he’s not someone you want to go up against alone.

Ryefeather (Cynthia Murphy | WindClan Warrior [Tunneler]) - Ryefeather, Breezefoot’s mate, is another kind soul known among the Clans. She has a strong bond with Honeyheart. The two could practically be sisters, as they’re often the first happily to happily each other at Gatherings.

in my honeyheart AU there isnt much plot cus itz just old men being in love but one thing i find the concept of funny is at the first gathering since jake joined the clan, othr clan catz overhear a windclan cat muttering to his friend tht he wondered if tallstar would mention "honeyheart" & whn he doesnt honeyheart becomez gossiped about in othr clanz

also!! who’s your biggest and or fluffiest cat in the warriors au?

well. i have many big and fluffy cats. but i think Honeyheart (Avei) wins this battle.

she is...huge. a big ol’ fluffy pale orange cat that towers over all the other cats but she’s as sweet as can be until you mess with her family. also she’s already part of StarClan at the beginning of the story

other close contenders are: Lionclaw (Finlos) who is Honeyheart’s son in the au (and also in StarClan for most of the story), Leaf (Leaf) who is Honeyheart’s sister in the au. also Rose is kinda big but she’s mainly just Tall and Lanky
