blurb thing for mel nel’s blurb night !
note: this is longer than a blurb LMAO IDK WHAT IT IS THIS IS THE FIRST THING I HAVE EVER WRITTEN so pls dont be mean im ?????
-
you were covered in flour after spending the last twenty minutes trying to get the right measurements of everything you needed to make your daughter’s favorite pancakes. technically, michael was supposed to be the one making breakfast, but when you saw he was pulling out his favorite cereal and a random box for his daughter earlier this morning, you stopped him immediately and claimed, “babe, don’t you think we should have something a bit better than cereal for ella’s first day of first grade; especially because she’s starting this year at a new school?”
michael’s back was towards you, but he wanted to make sure you would take over because when the words “better than cereal” flowed out of your mouth, he knew that you were right, and that he would get some pancakes before he left to go to the studio later that morning if you decided to switch jobs for the morning. he was being a little bit selfish, but the guilt wasn’t that bad because it was just pancakes and, honestly, he was in the mood for your specialty, so he closed the cupboard and went to the other side of the counter to plug in the toaster. he pulled out the new loaf of bread he bought at the farmer’s market. when he heard you inhale deeply, michael smiled to himself because he knew that he’d be getting your delicious pancakes.
“michael,” you said with a little bit of a whine.
he turned around, and rose and eyebrow up at you, “yeah, babe?”
“i’m making pancakes for breakfast, but you have to make the eggs. contribute more than bread and cereal for once.” and with a nod from michael, you became in charge of breakfast, and michael was now in charge of waking up their little ella in order to get her ready for school.
michael walked up the carpeted stairs, and made his way through the hallway to get to his little princess' room. the lights were still off even though the sun was peeping through her blinds, and ella was still fast asleep on her bed.
“el, honey, you gotta get up!” michael said with a little smile on his face as he watched his daughter roll over to the other side of her bed in order to get away from whoever was disturbing her sleep. “come on, el, mommy’s making breakfast, and it’s gonna be real good.”
ella still didn't make a move to get out of bed; all she did was bury herself underneath the covers a little bit more, but it was obvious that she was awake now. michael sat down on the side of her bed, and began to gently lie down on top of ella. “if you don’t wake up, i’ll tell mommy to take the chocolate chips and m&ms out of today’s special breakfast, and i’ll just have to lie on top of you all day,” michael said with a teasing voice, and his voice went up and down while talking to ella in this playful manner.
he felt her fumbling underneath the covers, this was her best attempt to escaping her father’s weight and achieving chocolate chips and m&ms.
“aha!” michael said when he pulled ella out from under her little hiding spot. “gotcha, bud!”
ella laughed and said, “put me down, daddy!” and michael did as he was told by the little six year old.
“alright, el, what do you want to wear today? ‘cause today is a special day with you going to school again, you know that?”
“yeah, i know, daddy!” el said with a smile. “can i wear jeans like you?”
michael nodded right away, and rummaged through ella’s closet for the black skinny jeans he insisted on buying her when back to school shopping intruded every store at the mall.
“what else do you want to wear?” he asked while pulling the jeans out of their place.
“a shirt like yours!”
michael nodded again with a smile on his face because his little girl looked up to him, and she was showing that while picking out her outfit.
it's something quite ordinary, but when michael heard his little girl say things like she wanted to wear clothes like his, he felt extremely grateful. she paid attention to him, and liked him enough in order to want to dress like him. at ella’s age, the desire to be like an adult or an older child is extremely precious because, in michael’s opinion, it shows how much the child loves you.
“alright, honey, is that it?”
“i want to look like you, daddy! i want to be like you!” at this point, ella was beaming up at her father as he gathered all of her clothes in a pile.
michael smiled at the last part of her statement. she wanted to be like him? as long as she doesn’t make the same stupid choices he made when he was nineteen, he would totally be okay with his little ella being just like him.
michael laughed quietly while fixing her clothes. “you can change yourself now, right?” he watched as his daughter nodded, so he passed the clothes to her, and got up to fix her belongings in the bathroom. “el, come into the bathroom to fix your hair and everything when you’re finished!” michael heard a small “okay” from inside her room, so he cleaned up a bit inside the bathroom ella used, and waited for her.
when she walked into the small bathroom, michael was delighted to see that his daughter seemed to love her outfit even though it was mainly made up of black and purple because she usually wore a whole lot of green.
he smile grew even more when ella said, “i love this outfit! let’s wear it again tomorrow," she said with wide, excited eyes.
michael laughed, “sorry, honey, you can’t wear it tomorrow, but i’ll talk to mommy to see if we can get you a jacket like mine for you to wear tomorrow.”
he saw ella’s eyes light up, “your black jacket with zippers?” she exclaimed.
“yeah, honey, one like that; a leather jacket.”
“a leather jacket,” el whispered to herself with a smile. it was obvious that she wanted one now that her father brought the idea into her mind.
michael leaned back on the wall and watched as ella climbed onto the stool and got ready for the day. she pampered herself like her mother. she brushed her hair from the bottom up, and when she brushed her teeth she was sure that no toothpaste went outside of her mouth. michael thought it was so cute, and by the time ella was out the bathroom, he started talking to his daughter even though he assumed that she wouldn’t be able to understand what he was about to say.
“el, you’re gonna be at a new school, huh?” he saw her nod, so he continued. “first grade is a big step too, isn’t it?” another nod was given to michael, and the two of them sat on the bed. ella started to play with her father’s hands while he spoke to her, “you know, el, i love you a whole lot, and you’re really strong for cooperating because we had to move all the way to l.a. for my job and mommy’s. you’re real tough to leave everything behind in new york, yeah? but that’s okay because we still have everything there, so we can go back whenever we can, you know?” michael was rambling, and mainly talking to himself, but ella didn’t mind. she loved it when her father spoke softly to her because it was like a lullaby.
“god, it’s incredible that you’re already out of kindergarten. you’re walking, you’re talking back; even though i don’t like it, and you’re doing your own thing. you’re just six years old, bud, but in ten you’ll be sixteen, yeah?” el looked up and nodded at michael once more. “right? what’s ten plus six?”
“sixteen,” ella answered confidently.
“right!” michael smiled and squeezed her hands because she was still holding on to his. “see, you’re a genius too, el. by the time you are sixteen, you’ll be even smarter in so many ways, and i’ll be old. i’m already old because you’re six!” michael jokingly gasped.
that exclamation got a laugh out of ella, “you’re only thirty-one, daddy!”
michael smiled and put his forehead to ella’s, “you’re right, bud! i am, but time is still going by so fast, and i can already see ten years speeding by! i just can’t believe we’re here right now. i just...” michael faded as he looked down from ella’s eyes to their hands that were still intertwined. he moved his head away from ella’s, and took a deep breath.
the room was silent for a bit, except for the wood creaking a bit from the hallway. michael assumed you had to get something from the room, so he just took a breath before continuing, “i love you so much, el. you’re my world.” michael smiled, and asked, “want to hear a story?” ella nodded eagerly in response to her father’s question.
“when mommy had you, i cried. i had tears streaming down my face because i imagined all of the memories we could make when i finally saw you. i planned them out while you were in mommy’s tummy because i was so excited to see you. i imagined us going to disney; and it turned out even better than i planned when we went last year. i imagined your first day at pre-school, and how i would think you were growing up too fast, but i denied it that day. two years ago i denied that, but today i just realized that, el.
six years have passed, honey. the next thing you know, you’ll be in second grade, and that year will zoom by. third, fourth, and fifth will be a breeze, and you’ll be in middle school. i don’t even want to think about you moving onto high school because that means we’ll have to think about you leaving. and, el, i don’t want you to leave me by that time when you’re walking down the aisle past me and your mom in your cap and gown because you’re my baby girl, and you’re growing up so fast. i’ll remember the day you were born on the day you graduate, and i’ll remember all of the memories we created together. you’re my princess, and i don’t want you to go as fast as the wind blows to take away your youth. i want you to be my little baby for as long as possible.” michael started out his little ramble with a positive, beaming attitude, but by the end he was close to crying just like he did when ella was born.
“i love you, honey,” michael said softly with his eyes getting glossy.
ella smiled up at michael, “i love you too.”
michael felt a sense of relief by telling all of those random things to ella, so he lightened the mood by asking, “do you want pancakes now?”
“duh!”
“ella, what did we say about saying duh! it counts as talking back,” michael scolded her with a smile.
“oopsies!” ella squealed as she ran out of her room and bee lined for the steps. she halted in the hallway and said, “hi, mommy!”
“good morning, el! pancakes are out on the counter. get some before daddy comes down and eats all of them!” you called out after your daughter.
michael came out of the room, and saw you down the hall. “hey, babe. did you like her outfit?”
“yeah, i saw. it’s cute,” you said with a smile. “she looks sort of like you, doesn’t she?”
michael laughed, “she asked to be like me, so we did just that.”
as michael came closer to you, you held out your arms, “i’m alright with her being like you because you’re the sweetest person i know.” michael went into your arms, and the two of you hugged in the middle of the hallway. your head was against michael’s chest, and his heart was beating quickly because of everything he confessed to his daughter. “i heard part of your little conversation with ella. you don’t need to worry about her growing up, mikey. she’s still our little girl.”
michael squeezed you before letting go, “i know. i don’t want her to let go of us.”
“she’ll be holding our hands through her little journey of life. don’t you worry.”

Holding On (Calum Hood)
I lowkey hate this but this is for @honeybeeisme ’s daddy blurb night which is basically my fav thing in the whole world ***
“There it is,” Calum said, driving on the dirt road that seemed to lead to nowhere until the big wooden sign came into your view.
Camp Hoa, which was a camp that Calum had attended himslef when he was Rua’s age. At a meer five years old, Rua Hood was ready to face the dragon. The dragon being camp, which in Calum’s eyes, was also life. In Calum’s head, the next thing he would see was baby Hood graduating university.
“It’s in the middle of nowhere,” You said, looking at the tall pine trees that surrounded your Range Rover. There was a clearing, which really shouldn’t have been considered a road considering it was basically just a line of dirt and rubble, and you drove further down slowly into the forest.
There was a large lake in the opening, a few cabins littered around the block. There was a big one, which looked different from all the others, and an educated guess from you suggested that it was a common house, maybe an art deco. A few kids were hugging their parents, other children playing tag on the sand.
It was gorgeous. It really was. From the pamphlet that Rua had excitedly handed to you at the end of the his first schoolyear (one of his teachers worked for the camp, and you figured she was just doing some free promo), you had expected bautiful. Not this beautiful, though. You could see trails for hiking and a volleyball court, a lifeguard station (which put both you and Calum at ease) and a renovated cabins, even a large dining area in the distance.
“It’s gotten a lot nicer since I was here,” Calum says, parking the car in one of the available lot spaces.
“Good,” you said, looking around the large field.
“We can still change our minds, you know. It’s not too late to pull him out, he’s still a little young,” Calum said nervously, looking at the rear-view to see his five year old son dressed in a Pokemon t-shirt and shorts, his old te, sleeping like a log in his car seat.
“He’s five, Calum,” You said.
“So? He’s young, and–”
“And nothing, he’s been talking about this for weeks since we told him he could go,” You said, a gentle and comforting hand on his bicep. “Now, go wake him up. I’m gonna get his bags and bring them by the cabins.”
You leaned in, offering him a kiss before you opened your door and exited the vehicle.
Calum sighed, opening his own door and walking around to Rua’s side of the car. His little monster was fast asleep, and Calum knew that Rua would have a hard time sleeping tonight, considering it was nearing 1PM and naptime was usually long finished by that time.
“Rua, buddy, it’s time to wake up,” He whispered softly, trying to tug away Mr. Twindolson from his kid’s grasp. Rua had a tight hold on the teddy, and opened his eyes to his father.
“Daddy?” Rua said with a yawn, letting his father take the beloved teddy away from him.
“We’re here,” Calum said, unbuckling the puzzle that was a child’s car seat. Five years, and Calum could still barely manage to unlock his kid from the car.
“Yay,” Rua said, trying to sound enthusiastic, but the tiredness in his voice was evident. He rubbed at his eyes cutely, letting out a sigh.
You made your way back to the car, looking at your husband as he picked up his son, placing Rua comfortably in his arms. The little boy weighed nothing more than a feather, and he yawned again as you came closer to the duo.
“Hello, little man,” You said, rubbing his tummy as he giggled, showing off his missing tooth.
Calum lets his down as you walk over to the woman who seems to be in charge, and older woman with graying hair and a notepad in her hands.
“Hi,” Calum says, his voice deep and manly.
“Hi,” The woman says back, smiling in a way that puts your irrational fears away. “I’m Barbra. Can i have your name, please?”
“Hood,” You answer, holding Rua’s hand. “Rua Hood? We booked last week, so it might ot be on there.”
“No, I’ve got you,” The woman smiles again, leaning down so she’s Rua’s height. “Hello there, Rua. I’m Barbra. Do you like to play?”
Timidly, Rua nods his head.
“Why don’t you go play over there with the other kids, then?” Barbra suggests, and Rua shines his smile at her. He looks back at the both of you, as if asking for permission, and you nod at him with a grin. He turns back completely to hug the both of you, and then he’s off, running towards lids his age that you’re certain you’ll hear all about.
“Is it bad that my heart hurts?” Calum asks, and Barbra laughs.
“No, that’s normal for first timers,” She says.
Barbra becomes preoccupied with another couple, two men with a beautiful ten year old vietnamiese daughter.
You and Calum walk back to the car in silence, holding each other’s hands like you’re seventeen again.
Calum settles behind the wheel, watching as his son plays with another boy around his age in the sand, building castles and building a friendship.
Calum’s throat tightened a little, and he could already feel the tears burning the back of his eyes. He knew what was coming. He’d been trying to prepare himself for it since you decided that letting Rua go to summer camp was a good idea. But it was a lot harder than Calum anticipated as he saw his baby boy play with a stranger, probably talking about toy trucks and sharing cabins with other people. Calum realized that he wouldn’t see his son for six weeks.
“Don’t you start,” You warned, sitting next to him in the car. “because if you start then I’ll start and it’ll be first day of school all over again.”
“I can’t help it,” Calum said, looking at you with watery eyes. “He’s growing up so fast.”
“He’s going to be fine, look at him. He’s playing, he’s having fun. Don’t you remember how much fun you had when you were here?”
Calum sighs, wiping at his eyes as he looks at you.
“He’s just…“
“All grown up?” You offer, smiling knowingly.
He nods. He sighs and turns to look at you.
“I love you, you know?”
You smile gently reaching over the gear shift to hold his hand.
“I love you, too.”

more than enough
for the dad!5sos blurb night hosted by @cliffordchick and @honeybeeisme !!!!!
by age 30, luke hemmings had more than he could have ever dreamed, and it was certainly enough for him. he didn’t yearn for more; he was content with what he had been given.
he had you, his beautiful wife, to cherish and love. that was becoming even easier with time, rather than harder like he had assumed it would be. instead of waking up and asking himself why he still loved you after all these years, he woke up and asked how he could ever not love you. even five years after your wedding, he was still repeatedly falling further in love with you every single day.
luke had his oldest daughter, lucy, a beautiful four year old with an absolutely unparalleled imagination and the same button nose as her beloved daddy. she was his little pixie, keeping him under her spell and wrapped around her little finger the way her own fingers grasped the sparkling wand in her hands now, as she raced around the backyard with your australian shepard dog, pepper, trying to catch lightening bugs. he can still remember holding lucy for the first time in the hospital, can still recall the absolute joy he felt and the paralyzing fear of knowing that the little bundle was his job, his responsibility now.
sleeping inside was his youngest daughter, nora, almost two years old. nora had much less of him in her than lucy, but she retained his startling blue eyes, while her sister had gotten your mother’s eyes. nora was a lot less of a daddy’s girl as well, preferring to trail behind her sister rather than be held by her doting father. one night, a few months after her birth, he couldn’t get her to stop crying at 2am and it was one of the few moments he truly questioned himself as a parent. when you came rushing to his rescue, you tried to reassure him it was only because he was on a short tour the first month after she was born, but that idea haunted him until the day she finally uttered her first word: “dada”.
between the energetic preschooler and the fussy toddler and the slightly neurotic dog, luke hemmings was very content with his lot. he didn’t want or need any more. everything he could ever want was already his.
and so he chose this moment to tell you that, turning to you on your back porch. as he said it to you, he grabbed your hand, thumb swiping over your knuckles. his face was glowing, but your face as he told you that what he had now was “just enough” wasn’t quite the reaction he wanted from you. your face, though smiling, seemed crestfallen. his eyebrows furrowed, now concerned.
“what did i say? babe, what’s wrong?” he questioned. “i’m sorry, what did i do?”
and that was when you had to tell him you woke up vomiting, and then realized your period was late, and went to the doctor, and then found out you were pregnant a third time. and as you told him, you teared up, suddenly afraid that he wouldn’t be happy, because he already had enough and this would be more than enough.
but as you told him, he teared up, because god he loved you, and you were going to have another one of his babies and he thought he had enough but he was so wrong. lucy and nora were enough, but after little mallory or patrick (his mind was already spinning with names) arrived, he’d have just enough then. and if after that, a olivia or a zachary arrived, that would be just enough too.
and so he told you that, and soon you were both crying and pepper was jumping up on you and licking your tears away while lucy and her tutu jumped on luke and hugged him even though she didn’t know why and everything was so perfect an enough and not enough and more than enough all at once.
and at age 30, luke hemmings was so happy, he thought his heart might burst.

daddy blurb night
for @cliffordchick and @honeybeeisme 's blurb night
imagine daddy!Michael coming home from a long day at the studio, and he can hear the sound of small bare feet against cold hardwood. A gurgle of excitement escapes the mouth of his daughter, and almost automatically, Michael bends down to match her wobbly height. She breaks out into an excited squeal pf laughter as she sees her father before her, but suddenly she takes in his appearance. Her daddy had hair the color of her favorite stuffed bear, and before her stood a man with hair the color of Elmo's fur. A small whine escapes her lips as she pauses in her tracks. You come around the corner to see her looking at your husband with a furrowed brow. "Baby. Babygirl, come here," Michael said in a soft voice. "It's daddy." Almost instantly, her face lit up once again at the sound of her fathers voice, and her pitter patter of footsteps race toward him with new found determination. Her stance was wobbly, but Michael gathered her in his arms all the same. "That's my girl." A smile broke across his face as she cuddled into him, and you realize how lucky you are to be married to a man like him.

2 please! and for the scenario, something to do with lazy sunday morning cuddles :)
Melissa! Hey angel!
- Ship: Ashton - Calum - Luke - Michael - Who would want to play your first dance song for you: Ashton - Calum - Luke - Michael- Who your kids’ favourite uncle is: Ashton - Calum - Luke - Michael- Who drunkenly crashes at your place when their spouse won’t pick them up: Ashton - Calum - Luke - Michael
Drabble:
Michael would pull out his acousticguitar on a lazy Sunday as you sat with your sketchpad, capturing how he lookedin the late morning light. You liked drawing Michael, he was a good muse whilehe was playing spontaneous melodies that you’d hear in a song in a few weeks’time.
He kept glancing over at you, smiling.
“What are you thinking, Mikey?” youasked, putting your sketchpad down on the bedside table.
He put his guitar down and leaned itagainst the edge of the bed.
“I was thinking we could spend themorning in bed and then maybe head over to Ash’s place to see the new Irwin?”he suggested, walking around to get back into bed.
“Sounds good to me, maybe we should takefood or something? I’m not sure they’ll have had time to cook,” you mused.
Michael’s cold legs brushed against yoursand you squirmed, hitting him with a pillow.
“Jesus, Michael, you’re freezing,” yousaid as you scrambled to get away from him.
“That’s exactly why you should hug me,”he argued, smirking. “Come on, it’s in your best interests because if you shareyour body heat now, I’ll be cold for less time than if you don’t so I —”
You rolled your eyes, moving closer toMikey. “You’re such a drama queen.”
Hesmiled. “But you love me, Melissa. You told me you did.”
