Emotional moments!!! I'd like to think I have a way with handling Big Emotions and the build-up that leads to them exploding! I've also been told a lot over the years that I'm pretty good at getting into my characters' heads, both the good and the bad 👀

Action. Fucking ACTION, my god. Loathe that shit from the DEPTHS of my bones. If I could take action out back and shoot it, I would :)

For the love of fucking god, if you're gonna write ENTIRE dialogue and not just one line, do your goddamn research. DON'T JUST GOOGLE TRANSLATE THAT SHIT. IF YOU CAN'T EVEN BE BOTHERED TO SEE IF THE SENTENCE IS CORRECT THEN AT THAT POINT JUST WRITE IT IN ENGLISH AND SAY "HE SAID IN [LANGUAGE]". IT'S ESP ATROCIOUS WITH NON-LATIN-BASED LANGUAGES LIKE ARABIC (LOOKING AT YOU FUCKING ISHVALAN AUS).

(Edward Elric would NOT speak in perfect fancy-ass formal dialect, that nobody native actually fucking uses either??? He'd have the most EGYPTIAN ASS DIALECT. Hell, I'll take Jordanian too!)

9/10 times, we can TELL it's google translate, okay. It's stiff and formal and translates LITERALLY rather than contextually. And half the time it's also just fucking wrong. Languages aren't just your damn vehicles to make a fic ✨diverse✨, they're CULTURES. LANGUAGES ARE CULTURES, AND YOU ARE BUTCHERING THEM.

How would you rank the gens?

Ope I feel like I'm gonna upset some people LOL so disclaimer remember these are just my takes.

But this is how I personally see them (counting remakes as being part of the gen they remaking):

Gen 9 - Paldea Region

I've been thinking about this since the games came out, so I'd like to say recency bias isn't as much of a factor here. Bugs aside, I genuinely, genuinely love the storytelling, characterizations, and open world approach. FRIENDS THAT FEEL LIKE ACTUAL FRIENDS?? HAVING THE LEGENDARY WITH YOU THE WHOLE TIME, AND IT TOO HAS A PERSONALITY & BACKSTORY??? THREE SEPERATE STORYLINES THAT CONNECT TO A CANONICALLY DEAD PROFESSOR AND AN "EVIL AI" FINAL BOSS??? Like omg. I was amazed. I honestly usually dislike the "gimmicks" each generation brings, but terastilization caught my interest and I have a strong feeling nothing will personally top it as a gimmick for me. The DLCs really sent it all home for me for the #1 spot, like oh my god LOL. Past DLCs always just felt like something extra, but I literally cannot see this game as being complete without Kieran, Carmine & the rest of Kitakami/Blueberry peeps & their storylines. My interest in the games only grew because of all of it - and that's a massive compliment given the fact of how hard it is to accomplish such a level of monumental significance with only a few hours of gameplay. I've yet to replay the game with earlier access to The Teal Mask, but I feel like this would make it even more immersive. Just pure chef kisses here.

Gen 2 - Johto Region

A very close second. Heartgold/Soulsilver is the most elite remake in existence and idc if it's old school, I'll die on this hill. Johto is just so full of life - the continuation story is amazing, the immersion into culture and legendary stuff??? Mwah. Silver is an excellent rival, RED being a thing (the ultimate level of iconicism), and the double region will always hit. The soundtracks HIT and my god hearing them remastered iS INCREDIBLE. I even get obsessed with the pokeathlon dome and I'm usually not someone who gets into that kind of stuff. But THEY MADE IT FUN. And I love all the cute activities you can do with your team that can follow you around. So glad they brought this feature back. :')

Gen 5 - Unova Region

Oooooh I loved the reset of Gen 5. It's based on where I'm from and there were so many refreshing aspects of Black & White. From the new pokemon, to the NYC culture, to N & the whole beautiful storytelling there, and a sequel that somehow made everything even MORE polished. I literally remember referring to this region as the "Isshu Region" before the English names dropped becuase of the hype LOL. 10/10, cannot wait for these remakes. Gamefreak don't mess this up.

Gen 4 - Sinnoh Region

Oh, Gen 4. You hit good. The lowkey dreary vibes of Sinnoh is very nostalgic to me, and Piplup is one of my best buddies. Cynthia being the very first female Champion, and being as fearsome as she is, was such a big deal to me. Definetely Barbie'd her a bit in my mind because I look a like her and loved how much of an academic she was (but I def do not have her length in hair, lmao). Soundtracks are fire, of course. The way legendaries were integrated in the story without going too Dragonball Z was IMMACULATE, and the lake trio will always be my fave lil buddies. The only con I'd give this gen is that I disliked the HM reliance & D/P are practically unplayable to me since Platinum exists. I had low bars for the remake once I heard it wasn't Platinum, and ugh, they really dropped the ball. HOWEVER: while it isn't main line, I fucking love Legends: Arceus and would rather have that over an excellent remake, tbh.

Gen 1 - Kanto Region

This is another nostalgia one for me because of the fact that I quite literally was introduced to pokemon since before I can recall most memories (this is what happens when you have an older sibling with a gameboy, lol). It's probably tied with Gen 4, tbh. Firered wasn't my first game, but it hit really good because I "played" so much of R/B/Y. I know Gen 1 has its faults, and it's often seen as being pretty bare bones in comparison to other generations. And while I completely agree, god damn, what a good foundation for a franchise. Every town had a personality to it and is very memorable to me. The soundtracks are FIRE. Smaller pokedex, but damn does team building hit (and the starters are elite). Blue was also consistently my favorite rival until Kieran, lol. #oldrivalshipping/conflictingshipping was the original OTP xD

Gen 7 - Alola Region

So there's a lot of things I liked about Gen 7. It took a really big risk by breaking the formula, and it really immersed me into the Hawaiian culture & seeing your pokemon more as friends. I loved looking at pokemon in a different way and some of the pokemon introduced in this region are among my favorites (e.g. Ribombee, Bewear, Shiinotic, Mimikyu, Rockaruff, to name a few; starters also HIT). NEBBY AND LILLIE ARE ELITE. The professor is so lit, and Team Skull is the funniest team organization alive. AND YES, GET RID OF THE HMS. I honestly think a remake would make this gen jump up a bit more for me - the 3DS could barely handle this game, and it was showing. The facial expressions also need some work LOL, and I honestly dread the tutorial of the game. I like the ultrabeasts conceptually, but the execution of their involvement in the game is very DragonBall Z-ified. Ultra Necrozma lowkey would've been an amazing time for a "light" type even if it didn't make much sense, but hey, it was an awesome nuzlocke-killing moment anyway. xD

Gen 8 - Galar Region

I actually have a lot of play time for this gen. I was very obsessed with it when it came out, and could probably get glued to it all the same nowadays. But in hindsight, I realize a lot of my attachment to it was because of the semi-open worldness & ability to create a lot of different kinds of teams with a lot of new and old pokemon I like (I also liked having access to things earlier, like Ice Types before the end of the game lmfao). I still have a few things I really enjoy outside of it, though, like Hop's storyline & the setup of the gyms being in this stadium, sports-esque setting. But the plot? Eh. I have a lot of constructive criticism on how some shortcuts were made, and especially with the whole darkest day stuff lol. The only thing I liked about that fight was the dogs coming in and being cool; I wasn't impressed by or interest in Eternatus at all. The Leon fight afterward was fun, though! But oof, those weird men with the sword and shield hair afterwards were also just...no. :D DLCs also didn't quite hit that hard - it was more about having more pokemon than anything for me. So overall, it's fun to play, but I'd definitely change up the plot to make it better.

Gen 3 - Hoenn Region

This is where I think some people might wanna fight me, and to that I say you're probably valid. I don't know what it is with the Hoenn region because I actually don't have too many critiques about it (e.g., let's have less water routes); I just have never been able to get into it quite the same as I can others. I should honestly give it another shot, but I think I'd wanna do Emerald over Omega Ruby/Sapphire given the route they took everything with the remake lol. That's about all I have to say on this one since I never really connected with it as much!

Gen 6 - Kalos Region

This one feels like an especially hot take to have atm given where the pokemon community is in general LOL. Critical opinions ahead......Listen...no offense, but Gen 6 just ain't it for me at all. xD It's probably the one gen I actively dislike. The games felt way too easy with too much hand-holding/handouts, Team Flare & Diantha were a joke (and I'm not even a competitive player), and the whole group of friends felt more like an annoyance to me more than anything. They just weren't flushed out right. Neither was the plot. Like what was that plot. Outside of that, a lot of things just felt like "Look! Pokemon is in 3D now!!" over and over again because of how rushed the game was. So other than introducing fairy types & having pretty protagonists with some new clothing options, this gen is pretty forgettable to me. And that's a shame, because I like pokemon! I was one of those people who were curious on if we were gonna connect to Kalos for Gen 9, but I'd geniunely pick the DLCs we got any day of the week. I don't think Legends ZA will change much of my opinion on the mainline game, but given how much I loved Legends Arceus, I'm hoping it can be used to retcon & generate more interest/connection to the Kalos region in general.

1. Kuroko no Basuke

Jk, ofc knb has to be first! It's been almost 10 years since I got into it and it's just the gift that keeps on giving. It's one of my comfort shows and it's gotten me through a lot tbh. Special shoutout to Kise, my baby who will forever be one of my favorite characters in media, and Kasamatsu, who I love with my entire being. Kaijou deserves better!!

2. Pokemon

My original hyperfixation before I even knew what that was, LOL. Pokemon has been there for me for as long as I can remember, and I don't think anything will ever quite replicate the feeling of home I get from this franchise, whether it's the games or merch or the show. I will def be there when gen 5028373 comes out, still playing the newest Pokemon game on the newest console no matter how old I am.

3. Xenoblade Chronicles

A newer fandom but one I fell into HARD. XC3 actually altered my brain chemistry and is probably my favorite game ever. My journey through the Xenoblade trilogy was magical and I can't get over how well the characters and stories are written, on top of having pretty fun gameplay. I'm super excited to finally check out XCX in March too!

4. TMNT 2003

Another childhood fave and another comfort show. These boys genuinely feel like family to me, they're just so cozy. I'm honestly shocked how well the show holds up even today; the writing is too good! It's criminal how slept on this version of the turtles is compared to others and I will die on this hill.

5. Akatsuki no Yona

The other day I realized I've been reading this manga for ten years which really made me have a belated quarter life crisis LOL. I migrated over from the anime, but man, it's SO SAD that they haven't animated the arcs after bc I love Yona (and everyone else's) growth through the series. I'm really anticipating how the series ends! Last chapter ripped out my heart thx.

6. Love Live!

I haven't kept up with Love Live and I was introduced to it through LLSIF (RIP) but I still listen to so many of the Muse/Aqours songs to this day! Kotori is incredibly special to me in particular bc I relate to her and I'll always smile when I see her pop up. Also I sometimes use the cards for fashion inspo bc their fits are too cute!

7. Rurouni Kenshin

I haven't felt comfortable following new RuroKen stuff considering everything, and tbh I don't think I'll ever be able to even reread/rewatch it bc it's forever tainted in my mind. But I can't deny how big of an impact it (esp Sano) had on me in my early teens, so here it is!

8. Sengoku BASARA

Tbh I'm not really in the fandom anymore, but I met SO MANY of my mutuals who I'm still friends with today through it, so it'll always hold a special place in my heart <3 Those were some wild and fun times LMAO.

9. Ys

Still making my way through all the older Ys games, but Ys 8 will forever be a legendary game imo and it has one of my fave OSTs of all time. Ys 9 and esp Ys 10 were also awesome! I finished Ys 10 a couple weeks ago and I'm still having withdrawals lol.

10. EXO

Alright this one is kinda eh bc I never got super into fandom stuff, but it's been such a crazy ride watching them from debut to now! Jongin esp is one of my favorite humans on the planet and as cheesy as it is, his words helped me tackle some of my insecurities growing up. I'll always be an erigom and an EXO-L <3

My personal favorite top 5 of my own fics!

everyone bleeds red: This is my complete role swap AU, with all the slayers as demons, and vice versa! I love this series so much, even if it is just getting started (I say as if it's not already like 140K words, I don't wanna talk about it). It's giving me the opportunity to work with quite literally every single character in kny, and do a lot of fascinating deep dives into their characters and what really makes them tick. Not to mention, it's just really fun coming up with all the inverses and parallels to canon here, switching things around just enough to be different, but so that everyone and all the events are still easily recognizable. Plus! All the different relationships I get to explore here are a ton of fun. Not just the romantic ones, but a lot of platonic and familial relationships I've always wanted to explore but haven't necessarily had the chance to in other fics I've written

last sunrise: I honestly never expected this fic to do as well as it did when I first started writing it, or for it to become as important to me as it did. The such bleak circumstances and conflicts of it, all the gray morality of quite literally every character involved, was such a delight to work with. And it all culminating in Kyojuro and Akaza learning to live again and be okay with themselves was really important to me. I'm glad it's my most popular fic on ao3 now, I don't think I would have picked a different one

wind-blown lilies: There is a deep dive into my Sanemi brain rot in the kny characters part of this answer, so I won't go too in depth here. This fic is honestly just one giant deep dive into Sanemi's character, an excuse to go over all the nitty gritty details. Not to mention, use it as an outlet to explore my own feelings, as Sanemi's background, coping mechanisms, and even personality are scarily similar to my own. Plus this fic gets the eldest daughter syndrome and queer themes that are being explored as well? Fucking heroin for me to work on, let me tell you. It's definitely a fic that is near and dear to my heart

a chance in hell: Listen... listen.... I know I have not touched this fic in well over a year, and haven't engaged with Blue Exorcist in even longer, but this fic.... Never mind that I just love the set up of Blue Exorcist, and Rin so damn much, it is like the best fucking series to go into religious trauma, and the exact kind of mindsets and beliefs you can fall into when you've been raised in and indoctrinated into Christian beliefs. This fic is such a good outlet for it, and I think has some of my favorite character work (both in individual development and relationships) that I've ever done. And yeah... Rin's demonic nature was def being used as a metaphor for growing up queer in the church, like I'm not even subtle about it. God, I really need to get back to this fic and try and update it soon

Okay, okay, so, I know this is kinda cheating and a little bit of a cop out, but it's true. So. The fun (not so little) Renkaza one-shot that I've been feverishly working on for a couple weeks now. It's officially gone over 14K but the end is... maybe in sight? Haha, who's to say really, but I'm obsessed with this fic, and think I've really pushed Akaza and Kyojuro's dynamic to a new brink in this fic, and I'm so excited to finally get to share it (hopefully) soon. It's been jokingly and lovingly referred to as "the teef fic" by me and the friend that is beta-ing it for me and helped me develop a lot of it, and yeah. It has everything you could ever want in it. Desperate pining, forbidden love, cannibalism as a metaphor for love, blood and biting kink, religious imagery. It's very self indulgent, and I hope when I get it posted everyone else will enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed working on it :D

Top 5 kny characters!

5. Nakime: Okay so like. I know. I know most of her depth is supplemental. But I love her, okay? No legitimately, I think her backstory is one of the most metal out of all the demons (we stand a queen for killing her shitty abusive husband and then becoming a serial killer). She's just the right amount of sympathetic and fucked up where so many of the best demon characters thrived. Beyond that, her design is super fun. She's beautiful, I love her hair over her face, and her one giant eyeball is a lot of fun. And her Blood Demon Art? It's definitely my favorite one in the whole series, and is so scarily powerful. If Muzan had utilized her the correct way during the Infinity Castle Arc, the Corps never would have stood a chance, and I will stand by that forever and always. She's just such a cool character, and she deserved way more respect and attention, not just in the series itself, but also from fans

4. Tamayo: I adore quite literally everything about Tamayo. Her entire backstory, from killing and eating her family, to becoming Muzan's right hand, to eventually turning on him and vowing to kill him no matter what it took? Yeah.... Yeah, we love women motivated by revenge and doing whatever it takes to get it. I also enjoy that the series presented us with a demure, level-headed character at first glance, but the further you go, the more the reader realizes how absolutely insane and metal Tamayo is. Aside from that, how fucking smart she was? She was able to force mutations in demons so that they didn't need to eat humans to live, something no one else could do, and that was without access to the blue spider lily. Not to mention all the drugs she made that were used on Muzan during the final battle. I just... I really love her a lot.

(Disclaimer, 1-3 are all interchangeable, like you cannot ask me to pick a favorite among them)

3. Sanemi: I just think Sanemi is a really neat (and much needed) exploration of the uglier sides of trauma and its effects. Specifically, having a "hero" display those traits. Like obviously Sanemi is one of the "good guys." He's a Hashira, on the side of humanity, fights demons, etc etc. But the series frames him as antagonistic for... good reason haha. At first, it's just his treatment of Nezuko. And then we learn his backstory, everything he went through. His abusive father, having to work to help his mother support six fucking kids, then his mother becoming a demon and killing them, him having to kill her in self defense... His treatment of Nezuko suddenly makes a lot of sense. How could he not hate her? How could he not hate the idea of her? He has to believe demons are all fundamentally monsters who will devour anyone they can, because if that's not true... what did that mean about his mother? Did he have to kill her? Didn't she love him and his siblings? It's a miserable can of worms for him. But just as it seems like he might become more sympathetic, we see his abuse of Genya, physical, verbal, and emotional. The last family he has left, and he threatens to kill Genya for being in the Corps, and the reader is lead to believe it's because he hates Genya for what Genya said to him in the wake of their mother's death. It isn't until Genya is on his deathbed that we learn it was a desperate ploy to chase Genya out of the Corps so he could live a good, normal life, a safe life. Sanemi put his brother through hell to "protect" him, because it was genuinely the only thing he could think of, all he could consider, given how violent his entire life has been. Sanemi is a failure of a big brother, of a protector. He's been telling himself this since the day his siblings and mother died, and it's only reinforced with the death of his last brother. A death that was caused, partially, due to his own actions, as if he had just had a genuine conversation with Genya, this all might have been avoided. He's just... He's just such a good tragic character, and I love him for showing an ugly side of how generational and family trauma can manifest and affect someone. He means a lot to me.

2. Shinobu: Surprising absolutely no one, we have Shinobu. Shinobu is just like. the Ultimate woman to me. I adore characters that are absolutely dogged and ruthless in their pursuit of revenge, and truly no one encapsulates that trope better than Shinobu. The perfect embodiment of "I can't win, but you can lose." Shinobu turning herself into gift-wrapped poison for Douma was one of the most metal acts of all time. She knew that this man would never be able to resist eating her, so she planned to kill him after her own death, with her own death. And it's just so??? Fucking cool. But even aside from all of that, her characterization is honestly fascinating. The veneer she puts on for quite literally every character to see other than Douma, the mask of Kanae. Posing the question of is Shinobu truly kind and optimistic because that's how she presents herself and tries so hard to live, or is it really all a lie because she believes it to be herself, and is only behaving this way to honor her dead sister? She tries so desperately to emulate the kindness of Kanae, but it's obvious her brutality, hate, and anger are still win out more often than not. Not just in her so meticulously plotting out her own suicide, but in how her actions contradict so many of her pretty words. Kanae wanted to be friends with demons, wanted a world where their could live in peace, and Shinobu claims to want that as well, but she says she needs to torture demons before they're allowed to be forgiven, she tries to stab Giyuu in the fucking face for daring to defend a demon. In fact, she is so unable to let go of her rage and hate that she knowingly puts Kanao through the exact same trauma that caused Shinobu to become this. She makes Kanao watch the death of her big sister, and to the same demon, no less. All for the sake of revenge. God, I just love her so goddamn much, she is such a fascinating character with so many layers, and I think is another really good example of a character just perpetuating the cycle of violence that hurt them, despite fighting so hard for a better world, and claiming all their actions are for that.

(The Shinobu and Sanemi parallels are actually fucking insane btw and not enough ppl focus on it to instead focus on Sanemi's relationship with Kanae but that's a whole different topic)

1.Akaza: I mean this isn't a surprise to anyone lmao. Of course Akaza was going to be on this list. He's one of the best written characters in the whole series, definitely the best written villain imo. He's also one of the most tragic characters in the whole series, which is one hell of an accomplishment since kny is quite literally the "tragic character series." Even his character design was created so meticulously, every single piece of it connected to his past and motivations. (Recently, I realized that the prayer beads he wears around his ankles were likely a reference to the cuffs of fur around a komainu's ankles! They're the same color as the fur in a lot of art, and a reference to the komainu kanji in his name!!! Like damn!! Every day I pick up on more little nuances about him!!!). Not only is his backstory perfectly crafted to be a gut wrenching tragedy, but his existence as a demon is somehow even more miserable, perhaps because he doesn't even realize it! Hakuji, who only ever wanted to care and provide for and protect those that he loved. Hakuji, whose father hanged himself because he didn't want his son to throw his life away for him, stealing to try and keep him alive. Hakuji, a branded criminal, who against all odds, found a new family to love him and a good life, just like his father wanted. Hakuji, who blames himself for Koyuki and Keizo's deaths because they never would have been poisoned were it not for their attachment to and love for him. Hakuji, who was going to kill himself after avenging them by killing those 67 men. Akaza, not remembering any of it, but being so fixated on getting stronger, sneering at the weak, because weak people do things like poison wells when they can't win in a fair fight. His tattoos, his criminal markings, changing to cover his entire body and face, new brands to match his new crimes, all the deaths he was responsible for. His Blood Demon Art being a snowflake, a symbol of Koyuki and his love for her despite not remembering her. All for it to culminate with Akaza eventually killing himself once he remembered because what other end was there for him? His sad, pathetic, pointless life? God. God. He makes me so fucking insane. So insane. He drove himself to insanity for centuries and didn't even realize it, fighting to protect someone who was already gone. I'm gonna fucking lose it. He's everything to me !!!!!!

Being a sizeshifter has its perks. You can be big, small or just the right size. Tommy may like to abuse that... He had friends all across the smp and loved to prank them. Stealing things small from the dream team, banging on the walls to give Tubbo and Ranboo a scare in snowchester, Grabbing and throwing Quackity in the hair with Charlie to watch them glide down. It was all so funny! Or it had been till his shifting abilities started playing up. (Basically this one would start with Tommy just taking it a bit too far and then when he needed help, would be completely ignored by everyone and having to figure it out on his own. I think it would be funny if it happened in like a dream, Cristmas carol styled so hen he wakes up he knows he stuffed up and goes to fix things :3)

Crystal Crisis

Bad tried to move, but he was rendered useless by the eggs control. He was trapped in his own self conscious, watching as a mind that was not his own controlled his body and hurt his friends He screamed in rage. He couldn't do anything and was forced to watch his friends suffer the same fate. "This is all your fault." Voices of hollow memories of his friends taunting him. The voices took form and soon he felt nothing but a tiny dot, trapped in a crimson cage as he let himself cry, trapped living in a state of despair in his mind prison. Or basically a really really graphic seen of guilt tripping for Bad knowing he screwed the smp over, that guilt manifesting into giant versions of his friends.

THIS SHOW CHANGED MY BRAIN CHEMICALS. I CANT PROPERLY EXPRESS HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ADORE THIS CAST OF CHARACTERS. THAT LIL DUDE IN THE MIDDLE?? HIEI, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, I ADORE HIM SO MUCH, HES SUCH A WONDERFUL CUTE TSUNDERE BASTARD. literally the main cast is full of characters with "contradicting" traits that just work SO WELL in making them interesting and fun

kuwabara (the one in blue) is a precious himbo, a very loud delinquent kid who loves to fight but has an honor code he will ALWAYS abide by and has a cute little kitten he adores!!!

yusuke (the one in green) is similarly a delinquent and, honestly, is more of an asshole LOL but he despite his rudeness he doesnt hesitate to put his life on the line for others!

hiei MY LOVE is The Edgy One and always acts like they rest in the group arent his friends but he always is there to help when hes needed and clearly worries for their safety 🥰 and he has a sister hes very sweet and protective over!!! and hes also just Full Of Trauma that i wont get into as more of his backstory is revealed later in the show. and hes just an absolute badass and really hot,,, (forces myself to move on or ill just ramble endlessly about him)

THEN theres hieis lover partner kurama (the red head, and my big kin!!!!), whos by far the sweetest of the 4, is a total mamas boy, BUT hes also a centuries old fox demon known for his thievery and cruelty and was changed when he was almost killed and had to transfer his soul into an unborn human child to stay alive, where his human mom's love changed him to be kinder :'3 (none of that is a spoiler really, this is info he literally states very soon after his introduction) but even though hes changed, hes still can be absolutely RUTHLESS to his enemies. even hiei states early on that he chose kurama as his partner because he wouldnt want him as an enemy

i was biiig hyperfixated on this show for a while there, i just absolutely LOVE stories that explore the gray areas of things, so when this show gets into that sorta shit with the hero society its a BIG fave. plus the characters are really fun, todoroki is my fave hehe

3. She-ra (reboot)

another previous hyperfixation, i just really love these characters and honestly theyre so fun to ship in a big ol poly pile lol. tbh i miss being fixated on this one, i had sooo much fun with it ♡

4. Talentless Nana

this was a shorter hyperfixation, but MAN this show gave me EMOTIONS. i dont wanna say too much about it because i think its best to watch the first episode without knowing too much about it, but there is a BIG TWIST at the end of the first episode, and the "genre" of the show completely shifts for all of the episodes after it. if you like darker series, i def recommend this one :3 i just hope itll get more seasons!! but at least theres the manga to continue on with after the first season!

5. Avatar the Last Airbender

an absolute classic from my childhood ♡ itll always be one of my faves!! the characters, the story, the world, i love it so much !!! i still wish i could be a water or fire bender ^w^

Honestly your shy, inverted demeanor when your first meet Josh might be perceived as refreshing! After all, he spends a lot of time around people who recognize him and wanna chat his ear off! I think he’d like a girl he had to chase after a little bit. When you finally let him in and things are going steady, the fact that the both of you are so similar would make your relationship effortlessly fun.

lol well i try to include him in stuff but we’re just into wildly different things. and yeah for sure, it’s weird bc we have a pretty big age difference i just saw her as a baby for so long, until one day she was old enough to talk about more stuff and we’ve been besties ever since. being an older sister is definitely not for the weak but i wouldn’t change it if i could (though i do wish i had one a bit older than me too lol). oof gosh i don’t think it’s possible for me to just pick one…. we find ourselves in laughing fits so often. going to a txt concert together was pretty incredible though!

they are def movie vibes. they properly met (had seen each around before) bc my dad worked at a brewery and my mom came looking for a job, and he pretended he was the manager and hired her. his actual boss said he would hire her but only if my dad trained her. they worked together for a while, my dad told his friend who also worked with them that he was gonna marry her one day. friend said good luck lol. then my mom had to leave town, and that morning my dad showed up and tossed his bag in the car and said i’m going too, and they’ve been together ever since.

Next up for the FOX adult animation shows, favorite character from the 2009-16 era: Sit Down Shut Up, The Cleveland Show, Bob's Burgers (the biggest hit in this batch), Allen Gregory (the show no one likes and FOX themselves tries to distance from), Napoleon Dynamite 2012, Axe Cop, High School USA, Lucas Bro Moving Co, Golan the Insatiable, Bordertown, and Son of Zorn?

Okay so this is a fun one for a bit reasons: the bulk of these came from a breifly lived attempt by fox at their own late night block ala adult swim done on friday's, Animation Domination High Def. It was honestly a rad experiment that lead to some nice little weird shit you wouldn't get in the more dom com focused lineup including one I think you missed i'll throw in. It's why this is a three parter instead of a two parter: they crammed five diffrent shows into this block most solid. Most. We'll get to that. For now...

Sit Down and Shut UP: I've been waiting for this one... because i fucking hate it. I did not like it as a teen and as an adult any memory of it is bad and should feel bad. I have no intrest in reviewing this unless someone drives a dumptruck of money (or you know 5 bucks for an episode), up to my house. Sit Down and Shut Up comes from the creator of Arrested Devleopment, Mitchell Hurwitz and the connection was hyped up with both Will Arnett and Jason Bateman returning and the cast.. was fairly stacked: In addition to the dynamic duo we had Kristin Chenowith (An actress I always like to see), Kenan Thompson, Will Forte, Cherri Oteri, and Henry Motherfucking Winkler. It's an utterly stacked cast, and also Nick Kroll, that the show utterly wastes having them as one dimensional strrotypes. With main character Larry Littlejunk GET IT HE HAS A TINY PENIS, they TRY to basically make him into Micheal Bluth.. but lack the depth micheal had, being both the straight man bu talso a bit of an asshole. Larry.. is just an asshole who will throw out his morals for his love intrest, but also berates her rather than talk to her while Will Arentt is stuck playing a jerkish jock someone probably through resembled GO. The rest of the characters aren't trying to play arrested development and the show tries to go for a clone high style self refrenital tone but dosen't have the goofiness and rapid pacing needed to pull it off. The result was just a miserable show and what i consider to be the model o f a bad adult sitcom: adult jokes for the sake of it, shock humor, and thin characters who aren't likeable enough to root for and aren't over the top bad enough to be entertaining.

The Cleavland Show: MY HAPPY MUSTACHED FACE IS REVIEWING THE CLEAVLAND SHOW! ha ha ha. This show... is meh. It's the defintion of meh. It has a bright spot or too: They got both David Lynch and Brian Cranston in regular roles, both doing a good job, Terry, Cleavland's gay best friend an da really great character played by Jason Sudekis to perfection. Also best character. But the show itself.. feels like family guys leftovers. For all the flack American Dad got on release as "OH NO ANOTHER SETH MACFARLINE SHOW".. it wasn't. It has some surface similarties to family guy, but even in the pilot none of the characters really match. With Cleavland Show while there are diffrences, it's a LOT closer to family guy in both characters and tone. Cleavland becomes peter 2.0, and the rest of his family are kinda bland in comparssion. The result is a show that just.. dosen't need to exist which is a shame: this is one of only two sitcoms with a promdominently lead cast fox has had. The PJ's may not be for me, but I can repsect the effort that went into it. With Cleavland Show while it has some I just.. can't get into it. And i've tried. There's only a handful of episodes that really work. It's not as bad as family guy in i'ts edgelord era but it dosen't make it GOOD.

Bob's Burgers: Gene. This one just.. lept out and I welcome that: Like many of my faviorites he's the king of the one liner, a guarnateed laugh anytime he says something wildly inapproriate and gets the requisite "Gene" from his father.

The show itself.. is excellent, one of fox's best and a show that, once I got around to catching up, is shockingly consitent. It does have a dip like other fox shows with the seasons before the last one and current one being hit and miss and some aspects not working (How many stories do we need about Tina's friends being shitty before we move on to something else. I know Middle Schoolers make bad choices in friends sometimes, I was there, but come on), but not only has it slowly recovered, with the amazing rudy last year being one of the shows best episodes, but even it's flop era is a lot tamer compared to the others; The Simpsons and Family Guy both had obnoxious periods with notably horrible episodes and character derailment that haunts the franchise discourse to this day. King of the Hill's ocasional painful attempts at

Likewise didn't easily go away. In contrast Bobs just... has less banger episodes as it goes on, something natural for any shows, and still pulled out an excellent movie and a few standout episodes every season, if not more, while also playing iwth the characters and status quo in clever ways to keep it fresh. Other shows went through clear seasonal rot... Bobs.. had a slight seasonal rut.

The show on it's own is just charming: A family who genuinely loves each other, is weird as hell and each member is nicely fleshed out and entertaining: While they can have weak starring episodes, I don't see any of the 5 belchers as a weak link, all lovely fleshed out weirdos with a lot of dynamics to play with. Each of the belchers has some form of dynamic with each other, some bond that makes for plenty of episodes, with an interesting rotating side cast, the bulk vocied by comedy legends (Seriously name a good comedian of voice actor from the last decade. Odds are pretty good they've been on the show. Not 100% sadly but pretty damn consitent), and i'ts own nice little world. It also has an eyepatch wearing millionare lunatic voiced by Kevin Cline. There's not really a lot NOT to like about this show. If you don't that's okay but it's still a standout and helped the shift towards more wholesome adult animated shows, ones that still had plenty of adult content, but weren't cruel or adult for the sake of being an edglord. It's a good show that needs to be adult animated, and showed what the medium could do when it really cooked at a time edgelord nonsense was winning and continues to be consitstant long into it's probably forever run.

Alan Gregory: I've only seen clips and like sit down and shut up you'd have to pay me to watch this pigs anus of a series. Whoever thought "A gay man forces a straight man to be his sex slave" was chucklesome needs to go down a hole and never come out. Just any hole. Even a manhole. Live in the sewer with the dolphins. Just go.

Napoleon Dynamite; I haven't seen a lot of this one either but it feels like the oppsitie: While Alan Gregory never got a chance and good, fuck em, Napolen neve rgot a chance: even I wasn't intrested in givign it one. The movie was fine but by the time the series came out i'd gotten past thinking it was the best thing ever and moved into my modern opinon of "it's quotable as fuck and relatable as fuck but not my faviorite thing". From what clips i've seen and what i've heard though the show is excellent, taking it in a weirder direction, and simply serving as aless down to earth and more cartoony sequel to the movie, but with some of the same awkwardness and most of the cast coming back for this. IT seems deeply charming, awkawrd and fun and I want to look at it some day. Or at least just watch it.

Axe Cop: Not sure on a faviorite but I am sure this series slapped. Axe Cop for those less familiar was a phoenominon in the late 2000's and 2010's where a 30 something illustrator teamed up with his child brother (diffrent marriages for their shared dad), turning their fun playtimes into a comic adaptin them straight and capturing that golden moment of childhood wonder in a bottle.. or a comic. It eventually got a tv show that looks good as hell and captures that same bizzare childish feel. It's only on an adult block because well.. Axe Cop chops off heads, because kids laugh at the filters networks think they need. The result was a fun creative show headlined naturally by Nick Offerman as axe cop, who perfectly grasped the assigment. The result is fun, adapts the comics well and is a good ride. Hope to see it again some day. Not an all timer or anything, but damn if it isn't great this exists.

High School USA:

Yeah coming from Morel Orel and Frankehole creator Dino Stampatopus and pardoying something I absolutely love, Archie Comics, this should've been a slam dunk. ANd I still think an archie parody series is a good idea. Golden even. But my god this was pathetic. Edgelord adult tropes, a waste of a great premise, it feels like a less horrible version of sit down and shut up, trying once again to try an do what clone high did (and would again) without any actual success. It's what Morel Orel was in it's early days: a lot of shock humor without a lot of depth.

Major Lazer: This was fucking fun and made a good pair with Axe Cop: Both have the feeling of a parody of an 80's saturday morning cartoon done by people who loved those, but still taking itself earnestly in a way that makes the goofier elements work. Major Lazer is just a fun earnestly insane show that takes it's weird shit seriously and roots it in party culture that fits the band whose mascot headlines the show party nature: We get cheesy 80's and 90's style villians trying to dope drinks with cough syrup, steal all the bass in the world and a horde of vampires invading. It's a fun, campy, good time and a show I look back on fondly.

Lucas Bros Moving Co: Both bros. This show was decent, having a regular show style premise of two normal slackers getting caught up in weird nonsense, but set apart and avoiding being just a plain ripoff by the singular focus of the bros and the pop culture refrences they bring in. It feels like we just got dropped into these guys shared brain aand are along for the ride. Decent

Golan the Insatiable: Is meh. It has Rob Riggle and Aubrey Plauza playing off each other well an da great premise of a great demon lord becoming besties with a little girl, like the beetle juice cartoon on a smidgen of crack. It's not amazing, but I don't hate it. It just kinda.. exists but has great actors to bump it up a little? Son of Zorn: A show I wish i'd watched more. Jason Sudekis as a washed out he man type trying to mak eit 9 to five with a live action family is a great premise and while what episodes I saw were just okay, it apparently lives up to it as it goes.

Bordertown: A massive disapointment. Mark Henterman did a great job with Three South and Hank Azaria is a good va but my god this premise just did not work. Following a mediocre racist no matter how stupid as he's a stupid racist man is not good and was never going to be good. it works for maybe one episode of a show, see Homer's Enemy

But wasn't going ot sustain itself. Add in a cast that is just.. nothing otherwise and all you have is some pretty good looney tunes style shorts with el coyote. Honestly if the whole show was just a benevolent (In this case at least) Coyote outwitting a slovenly unplesant border agent in a series of looney tunes style shorts, it would've been god tier instead of a perpetual punching bag
