I think the juxtaposition/gap moe comes through #for context theyre in the far future of the year 2092 about #and the majority of the crew are deeply involved with contemporary tech. half of them got body mods. one of them's a robot #riz is the navigator (fabian's the first captain and the one assembling the crew). he does everything on paper with a pencil #he has a school calculator from our current time. the crew's had to wrestle a comm link onto him #his translator link has been mutilated to stop all wireless transmission. he is also under 5 feet in height and looks Like That #I think its great that he honestly coheres very well despite all appearances. in every life possible it must be wild that he owns a gun #and also the idea of fabian slowly waking up to the realization that he's somewhat responsible for a buncha babies is awesome to me #good luck buddy. hold out for two more years and labour court will no longer be on ur ass

jim carrey as gerald also sucks btw . i already didnt think he was a particularly good choice for eggman because it feels like hes just playing himself and not eggman but seeing them take a character whos entire deal is being long dead but still impacting the story through his grief driven actions and bring him back to life and make him a main character and also turn him into a silly jim carrey character is making me turn into the joker

#also skinny eggman just inherently sucks no matter what actor it is #the casting for the game characters in sonic 3 is just so bad lmao . except for maria i feel like shes hard to mess up #and even if they do mess her up somehow alyla browne is what. 14. im not hating on a child actor. she gets a free pass here .#well its not even just the third movie tbh #the only game character id say is actually really well casted is tails and they just kept his game va for him #the others are either not great or are fine but also nothign special compared to other people who have played the same character #anyway i do think eggman and gerald being played by the same actor makes sense becuase theyre supposed to look and sound similar #its more the fact that its jim carrey specifically. i was honestly kind of hoping he did retire for real #i would have preferred an eggman-less movie over this. like i know an sa2 adaptation without eggman would be weird #because sa2 is so focused on the robotnik family (and yes i am including shadow in that) . but god . this sucks so bad .#not to mention the fact that gerald is seemingly taking rouge's spot in the dark story trio. hello. who approved this garbage #i need this movie to flop so bad but i know realistically that it wont

Rereading Temeraire for the first time in AGES so I had to doodle the boy.

#i honestly forgot how much i loved this series #“real world with fantasy elements” stories have always been a favourite of mine #(when the fantasy elements arent just werewolves and vampires at least)#and the idea of the Napoleonic War but with Dragons is such a BANGER concept that it alone would make the series great #but i adore the way dragons are written and how they exist in this world #like theyre animals but also people in such a way that feels natural instead of forced #but their treatment often isnt even that of animals its more than of inanimate physical objects like ships or planes #and all the different breeds who was artifically bred for certain purposes #and the way different cultures view and interact with the dragons #augh #its just so good #temeraire #temeraire fanart #amity doodles
