It absolutely drives me nuts that people (mainly on twitter) are like "Misha shouldn't have to apologize because Misha should be able to make the same jokes we do." HE ISNT US THOUGH. He's not some random person hiding behind a profile pic that isn't him. He's not some d-grade actor. He's probably one of the most influential people in fandom. He's a huge reason why we are able to talk so openly about fandom. Stop f*cking dismissing people for being uncomfortable with him making a joke that wasn't a dismissal of an incestuous ship that probably would have made certain incestuous shippers feel like they can berate people for being uncomfortable with incest more than they already do. Incest shouldn't even be openly talked about in the first place and the joke made w*ncest seem common and okay especially if you don't know he doesn't ship it or have a reason to argue with people that incest is ok. And considering what's gone on in the "spn family" lately, it's not wierd for people to be nervous if someone from the show were to make a comment like that.
I understand telling people to not say death threats or disgusting comments that have nothing to do with what's being talked about or a random personal attack but stop berating people for commenting that the joke didn't sit right omfg.
and don't "just mute the word" me. IT'S MISHA. 1. if ur in fandom ur probably going to see it no matter what. 2. If you're a fan and it made you uncomfortable you can't just unsee it. 3. Once again, HE ISNT SOME RANDOM PERSON ON THE TIMELINE.
I'm thankful of Misha for apologizing, it wasn't necessary because easily could have ignored people, but his apology was appreciated. It's great that he chooses to listen. But peoples' reactions are kinda f*cked up.
YOU CAN be upset that he had to apologize. He should be able to make the joke and not be reprimanded for it, the problem is... we don't live in a world where that sh*t stays in a bubble. That's just f*cking reality.
