what do you think dkbs kinks are? i have a feeling junseo has a lil size kinkkk 👀 also personally idm you writing for yuku (🍗)
anon,,,, this was a trip like i didn’t know i could be attracted to so many men all at once aaaaa. half of this is just me freaking out over them lmao.
again, i wrote these out more like headcanons instead of specific kink names, hope that’s okay! also i had to put it under the cut bc it was getting too long haha
e-chan
definitely a dom
he is So into shower sex. he loves how the warm water runs down your naked body, how the steam from the shower wraps around the two of you. and the fact that there’s no clean up afterward is a plus too!
king of denying you your orgasm. like this dude’s dream is spending hours between your legs, using his fingers and his mouth to get you so close but never letting you orgasm. when he finally does let you cum, he finds it so hot, because he knows he has complete control over your pleasure.
i mentioned this in my other post but he’d love laying you on your back and fucking your throat. seeing his cock slide into your mouth and leave a bulge in your neck turns him on immensely.
he’s the type to have you put a vibrator inside of you and keep the remote with him. he’d leave it off for most of the day, but just when you get comfortable, he’d turn it to the highest setting, almost making you cum right on the spot.
d1
i see him as a switch
okay but him on his knees for you, staring up with his big doe eyes valskfjhlfjhvjd
he likes being blindfolded when he subs!! it increases his sensitivity to your touch and makes things exciting bc he never knows what’s coming next. one second you could be kissing his neck and the next second he’d be whimpering from the shock of his dick in your mouth.
when he doms, he likes to have your face down ass up. he loves clutching a handful of your booty, and having you rock back and forth on his cock. when he’s close, he’ll pull out and cum all over your ass, asking to take a picture of his mess afterward for later usage.
he also loves quickies!!! he gets SO turned on if he has to cum quickly to avoid being late somewhere. he often cums the hardest during these times, since the stimulation on his dick is so sudden and overwhelming.
teo
switch/no power play
he’s so into worshipping your body, like he loves to take his time kissing and admiring every inch of you. he’s the type to suck on your nipples and trace his fingers along your hips, and every one of his touches is so gentle
similarly, he loves to praise you. he’s always letting you know how beautiful you are and how you make him feel good. definitely the type to chant “i love you” while he cums
one of his favorite things is having you between his legs, your back to his chest while he uses his fingers on you. he loves the way you moan for him and the way your hips jerk into his hand
when he’s more submissive he’s much whinier, begging for you to let him cum inside you. if you say yes, he’d repeat “thank you” so many times when he orgasms. if you say no, you’d get to hear the sweet sounds of his begging.
gk
switch w/ sub lean
i’m very biased bc i just want this man squirming under me adjfdghkl
but his more dominant nature can slip out when he decides to dirty talk. you guys could be out clothes shopping and you’d ask for his opinion on something and he’d lean in real close to your ear before whispering about how he wants to fuck you right there in a dressing room.
when he’s feeling subby, though, your voice is the one that’ll be making his knees weak. he loves when you talk dirty to him or tease him in public !! his favorite is when you put your hand on his thigh and start massaging the muscle. the close proximity of your hand to his cock while others are around drives him crazy.
he loves when you hold him by the waist. in fact, sometimes when he’s on top, he’ll let you grab his hips and guide his thrusts instead of moving himself. he likes how it feels as if you’re taking control of his body to use as you please.
heechan
dom
you cannot convince me that this guy isn’t into jealous/competitive/angry sex
i feel like he always has something to prove and that extends to the bedroom. he just wants to show you how good he can fuck you
and the idea of angry sex goes along with being a brat tamer. though he acts like he hates you disobeying him, it actually turns him on even more.
you touching yourself without his permission is the quickest way to piss him off, and he’ll bend you over his lap to spank you as punishment
please he’d be so good with his hips..... him rolling his hips into you at an excruciatingly slow pace, watching how deeply his cock enters you, waiting for you to beg him to go faster
lune
switch
an absolute tease. i can see him being into both orgasm denial and overstimulation (giving). he loves having you and your body under his control, and hearing the sweet sounds you make.
you and him just chilling on the couch while under a blanket around the other (legal) members. he’d place a hand on your stomach, slowly sliding it down before reaching under the waistband of your shorts. your head would whip around to look at him, but he’d just hold a finger up to his smirking lips to tell you to stay quiet as he touches you.
he’s such a brat when he subs though. he would go out of his way to disobey you just to see how much he can piss you off.
like you’d be riding him and tell him to let you know when he was about to cum. you’d keep bouncing on his cock and suddenly you feel his cum start to drip down your legs. looking down at his face, the expression you’d see was a mix of pleasure from his orgasm and from defying your orders.
junseo
no power play probs
i can see him having a size kink, but i think he just enjoys how much stronger he is than you. he likes being able to lift you up and bend you into any position he wants.
he LOVES blowjobs. i mean, all the guys like them but this dude LOVES them the most out of everyone. he really enjoys how your mouth feels around his dick, and he likes pulling out and cumming all over your chest.
he was honestly pretty nervous the first time he gave you head, because he was never quite sure if he was doing it correctly. kept asking you “is this okay?” and you had to give him some guidance. now he’s a pro and often offers to give you head in exchange for a blowjob.
he still can’t get over how hot you are when you cum, like he’s so amazed every single time you do it.
yuku
sub/no power play
mutual masturbation with him thoughwjkcbjskksjvjsksjxbxjsj
pushing him down into in a chair and telling him to show you how he pleases himself... him stroking his cock while you you touch yourself over your panties...the little groans he would let out...
another way you’d dominate him would be riding his thigh, but not letting him touch you. he’d be so hard, watching you run yourself over the fabric of his jeans, soaking them to the point where he could feel your juices on his skin
he’d whine for you to let him do something, but you’d just lean into his neck and whisper about how good you feel, just to get him even more worked up
another scenario i’m thinking about is like.... watching porn with him. you’d just randomly ask him to watch it with you and he’d be so shy but so turned on all at the same time. bonus points if you reach over to palm him over his pants while keeping your eyes on the screen. the way he’d move his hips to get more friction i’m-

Hi I’m Kosmic. I draw webcomics and my webcomics are really long sprawling huge cast ones that will go on for years and they’re non linear and all this stuff that makes ppls heads spin when they try to explain wtf they’re about. I ask myself this question a lot: How the fuck do I maintain this motivation for continuing projects that are honestly, probably bigger than i can possibly feasibly create??? How do i avoid swallowed up by anxiety of my own creations???? is that energy going to run out at any time? should i be worried?? Well! For some reason I... don’t? like i get winded sometimes but in the end, I actually quite like what i do and I don’t care that it takes literally years to make my stories. but when I step back and look at it objectively it does make me scratch my head and wonder how i came to be in this situation. So, sometimes i try and write a few things that help me with understanding my own process, for whatever reason. Or at least I’ll TRY to articulate some of the things i seem to tell myself again and again that help me feel very comfortable with my writing/creating process. So if you want an insight into tips that i give myself.. this is that!
TIP #1 - Everything you Plan will take longer than you planned, but you can make it easier by unexpectedly including information you might have otherwise withheld.
Secrets are cool in your stories. I have so many of them, but I also understand that they’re much more fun to share than to always keep locked up and out of knowledge. I often overshare to the point where ‘info dumping’ happens which is often considered an unattractive quality in comics. But IDM it so much because my comics just need to be drawn and you can’t glorify and hold every flaw over your shoulders when in the end its not going to be that big of a deal. I think its better to give out more information than finding reasons to bend around a story to avoid revealing things. I feel it might even be more obvious if you attempt to do that.
Also, I feel that everything planned in a story can happen quite quickly, and feel much shorter than actually drawing it. Even with the experience ive gained, i still am surprised just by how much i must throw out to make my long scenes shorter and snappier. even then, they are still really long scenes. I don’t mind doing this, I like to make my stories this way- but ive also designed my comic to serve this pace by making my pages less intensive physically to make. I’m not going to go in depth about this as ive already discussed this many times before, but I do think its important to understand that generally, a commitment to a comic is going to be bigger and longer than it appears in your mind or even on paper as a script or thumbnails.
(my comic eggshells, for example, was originally going to be 340ish pages long. but back then, my pacing was much different-- and my pages were generally twice as wide with around 15 panels per page..sometimes more. but i would over-render and make them hard to read, and now i draw very few panels per page and my comics are much ‘longer’ in page count.)
TIP #2
-Accept that your ideas are bigger than what you can draw and enjoy the private context and history of your work without feeling like its less accomplished for not being all out there. Validate yourself but also understand that your readers are not going to understand the depth from your perspective and they will be engaging with the view they’ve been exposed to.
This is kind of a complicated one but I think that its both humbling to accept your work as this multi layered experiences of contradicting perspectives.. theres the planning and your engagement with the goals, the work of translating your creation to others and the vulnerable exposure of these ideas to the audience. As the creator, you get to see things in a very unique way that no one else can but... the one feeling you will never get to see is the audience who has no idea what will happen next. You can anticipate it, but in the end its so vast and unpredictable that it will be impossible to judge what they ALL will FEEL and sometimes? their perceptions can alter your own enjoyment of your work. I guarantee it will change it in SOME way.. that’s part of the sacrifice.
TIP #3
-Allowing change, flexibility and growth into your series- and letting go of control over all facets of it.
As time goes on things just change. Its hard to accommodate or prepare for that kind of investment in your work when you feel like you havent even gotten through the starting gates of your story. Comics are particularly difficult for that because once you draw a thing, it takes time to edit and you cant really undo and go back. Each panel informs and builds on the next. You have to use what’s there and figure out how it can be a structure for the future.
Accepting the past that has helped create the situation and platform of your comic in the present, which will lead into the future. Personally, i’m not a fan of retconing* certain decisions that have been already made into the canon-- however, i think if a new conclusion or idea is discovered in the process of writing and it works to include because it creates a new and alive energy in the work that will help push it to the next stage.. i think that’s very helpful and useful for sustaining the growth and motivation in a story. Making choices like this can be tricky, however, but even small ones can give a lot of natural growth and flexibility in the comic. The problem can often come with letting go of that unseen, unrealized version we had intended. I know for myself, i can get very nostalgically attached to old ideas but-- if i think of something better that works or makes more sense, I’m always thankful to let go and let my stories grow into a better thing. I try to remember where it came from, however. Because that helps inform me where to go.
(*generally my definition for this is altering events of the past, certain core plans of the comic, character motivations, or facts that are connected to the worldbuilding. im kind of a hoarder so once its in the story aka on a specific page-- its not going anywhere. until then things can be up in the air. for example, the characters knife and spoon were not originally intended to be mutually in love and it was more of a one sided idol worship, but as i fleshed their characters out i realized that it was mutual and it changed and altered the story because of that. now it cannot/will not be “undone” for whatever reason bc this is.. an established fact in the story. but at one point, it was not! i hope that makes sense.)
SO TO SUMMARIZE... plans will always be “”bigger”” in the ever expansive space of your mind so also dont be afraid to get to the point sometimes even if it feels a little, like. less exciting than you thought? accept your story is going to be different for YOU vrs your audience and make peace with that disconnect even tho its disorienting + upsetting sometimes & accommodate the ~natural personal and artistic growth~ you will experience and let go of things that might be holding you or your work back from improving with you. but also dont try to cut out too much of the past because.. it is what helped you get to where you are right now? focus on the present & allow growth for the future, dont try to alter the past and pretend it didnt happen. bc that will be confusing as fuck for everyone involved and also probably hurt the story more than help it. esp if its a long one. ur building a tower dont pull out too many foundational blocks and try to make it too much of something else unless its growing there on its own.. u kno?
When I try to write these tips these are just things I find myself doing in a cycle as i create that seem to keep re igniting my passion for my story again and again. It makes me curious because it also is a very instinctual thing so I thought I might try and write it out!!!!!!!!!! ENJOY.
ALSO some bonus thoughts!!!!!!!!!! I will say that I’ve never completed a long format comic series, so take it w/ a grain of salt imo. HOWEVER...I probably will, eventually. Even if I don’t, I do enjoy writing really big ones and I feel very happy with the work i do on them! and still feel no inclination to move onto other things. Or even when I work on other things, I don’t have a feeling of dropping a story entirely. (for example, i still intend to work on my older series eggshells and don’t really feel a desire to ‘quit’ that story even when i have matured as an author/artist since starting it.)
When I read really long comic series I wonder a lot of internal decisions that happen out of sight, since the timeline of a comic that you read is so much different than the timeline it takes actually creating the thing. its so easy to write/plan/form ideas for lifetimes of work that will never be realized, so what is it that we actually get in the pages? What aspects of this author are we actually seeing? how much have they grown since beginning and what about the story we will never know? I know I’ll never know, because, I am only the reader! And as the creator, I will never know what the feeling of my work as the reader. or the cool and interesting things they predict will happen based on their perseptions, which are so different from mine. Yet!! we are all engaged in the same story unfolding, never fully discovering what its like on the other side but only getting little glimpses and thats fascinating how a story is almost this vast illusion of experiences maintained by so many different minds.
Long format comics captivate me because they are just, really time consuming to make and the pacing of them are so different and less consumable than other stories. They like become.. this place you live in! Why are they my favorite to enjoy even when its natural that, when a story becomes longer, its going to end up attracting more & more issues? Why do i Not care about resolutions to long stories sometimes bc my expectations for them are different?? (also lets face it, experience writing long stories is going to be different than writing short ones because it takes time to write longer things & we are not going to have as much experienc having more than one completed super long multi-act-multi-characterplot story vrs a bunch of smaller ones. it doesnt mean its EASIER to write shorter ones, if anything id argue its probably much harder to write good short things + isolate a story down to that focused vision than making tons of long ones that avoid endings) but..yet!! here i am...
why am i constantly drawn to trying to understand long format stories when I probably could improve faster by writing shorter things??! i dont really know! but i follow my heart and my heart likes to do things this way......
anyway, this entire post is mostly inspired by the fact that many of my favorite stories started before i was even born or have been going on for decades and i wonder if we’ll ever read the endings to many of them.... would it.. matter? they’ve already inspired me so much even without a resolution because i can imagine my own endings to things.. but in the end that is not what happened in the actual story. it was only in my mind.. and yet it never happened, and was an illusion unknown to anyone but myself.....and sometimes my favorite stories are my favorites because of the things i imagined them to be, rather than what they actually were or how they actually turned out.. i dont know how this happens..... but i wonder about what this means with my OWN comics, and how my perceptions of what they could be vrs what they are is like, this weird illusion that also exists only in my mind and no one else can see it. yet we are both looking at the same thing. and i want to know what others see and i never will get to??? ....stories are......... so fucking spooky!!!!!!!!!! AHHH!! ok thats all. thx for reading

1. Project Statement
Working Project Title: Lexicon of Love?
What is your project about?
My project is about words. More specifically, my favorite words. These words include, but are not limited to: catharsis, subsequently, tangible, iridescent, juxtaposition, wordly and otherworldly, ambiguous.
What are your project's theme(s) or conceptual underpinnings? I’d like to explore experimental digital anthropology with this project. Visceral, confusing, and grounding.
What is your project's "elevator pitch"? Think of a phrase or 1 sentence maximum.
I want to make a digital scavenger hunt, that consists of multiple projects of various mediums, and use their titles to tell stories about love.
What is your short, project description? Write a 200-300 word paragraph that addresses four of the five essential questions:
This project is my chance to finally create a digital body of work that represents all of my skills, as well as explores topics of contention for me. I’ve recently realized that I can combine the themes I’ve studied in my minors (anthropology/humanities) into the creative field of my digital media major. I want to make people, including myself, feel something. My target audience is other digital artists. This project is inspired greatly by net artists and the general idea of having a digital legacy. Some artists that inspired me directly are Jon Bois and Molly Soda, however each individual project within this project also has its own inspiration, of course. The how of this project is honestly still rocky. There will be at least one project to include in the project being made per week, the risk with this is falling behind.
2. Motivation:
I like the idea of my project, I really do. But theres some part of me that knows i already need to pivot. I’m doing this project because I want to create something in every medium I’ve learned (or as many as I can) within my time in undergrad. So ultimately, I’m doing this project for myself. I’m exploring my own capabilities and expressions of those capabilities. I’m holding myself accountable to actually create, and I’m forcing myself to tell a story (something I feel I struggle a lot with, unfortunately). This project is for my own growth and self-understanding. In terms of what I’m trying to convey outwardly, I want to be a random link on the internet that once/if you stumble upon, is a treat and an experience. I love confusing and almost ominous things on the internet. “how did you get here? who made you? why do i care?” and I want to create one of these experiences myself.
I am willing to commit to this project but I really think i need to pivot in my presentation of the project in order to make sure I actually focus on the content and story.
3. Influences
As mentioned above I have various influences. Injury reserve, Lido, Jaden- these are sonic inspirations and influences. Susan Sontag, Anne Carson and Jenny Holzer are some conceptual influences. Jon Bois and Molly Soda are web/net art influences.
My inputs are my family life, my culture, my religion and perspective on my own religion. My inputs are my friendships, and the love that I experience in them. My inputs are failed and successful romantic relationships. My inputs are my experiences and struggles with mental health, specifically in relation to self love (in this case).
4. Target Audience
My target audience is other digital media artists, and potentially those looking to explore love. I want someone to see the page, understand that there are connections everywhere- i want to document my perception of love and share it. I want to open up a conversation within the viewers head. I think digital media artists are best to receive this story in through this multi-medium approach because the project itself plays into that realm.
5. Related Projects
http://wellnow.wtf/enter/index.html
this seemed like a doable example of layout maybe for final presentation
https://www.instagram.com/subwayhands/
https://projects.jennyholzer.com/exhibitions/jenny-holzer-mass-moca--/gallery#1
These related projects, although related, arent necessarily competitors. I’ve been having a difficult time finding competitors, I really think the closest I’ve come across is :https://www.sbnation.com/a/17776-football and in comparison to mine, there are a lot of missing mediums.
I’ve also been thinking about incorporating some other platforms like making an instagram account to house certain projects
6. Resources:
My accountability group as well as the whole senior project class, classmates across different classes...as well as the IDM community as a whole.
the internet is a huge resource as well. there will be some material costs, but generally low. I am predicting $200 most for prints and shipping tools potentially, and under $100 for music production software.
softwares include: adobe creative cloud (which i already have), glitch softwares like EbSythth, and code applications. I also will be using a camera to record video aspects.
7.
GOAL (30 days) = have the whole project planned out and in the making
Milestone (today) = finish SPP iteration _01
Tasks: Complete remaining tasks and create calendar/set specific deadlines .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOAL (30 days) = have material to work with while making the project
Milestone (today) = send out google form!!
Tasks: make the google form and consider what direction/how to frame questions
8. Ideation & Research
Wordlists are definitely helpful in the beginning stages, as this experience/project is fueled by semantics and word associations. I think I’m speaking way too vaguely about this project, which is a problem. I must brainstorm what medium to present it all on, and I think that would be successfully done by looking up other digital artist to draw inspiration from. I think part of me really is leaning towards a screen-recording and turning the final product documentation into a youtube video. i think there is something highly symbolic and a little fulfilling in doing that. I don’t want to get caught in a web of searching for niche art on youtube when I know I need to put my time into the actually project themselves, but that is a starting place right now.
Generally, I believe there are many places I can look to find my ideation and research but I also think letting the inspirations appear organically is better, plus I wont have to worry too much about a research binge!
9. Design and development
N/A
10. Feasibility check
I’m definitely constantly asking myself about this. there is something unattainable about this project still, and i think its boiling down to my ability to tell a story about love while simultaneously getting the projects actually done in a timely manner. I’m trying to reincorporate the notion of love languages into the project (hence name shift!) so adding another milestone/goal/task:
GOAL (30 days) = pivot concept of love stories
Milestone (today) = brainstorm brainstorm brainstorm!!!
Tasks: make lists and research more.

The Best Search Engine Optimization Ideas And Pointers
In order to drive traffic to your website you must engage in the practice of search engine optimization, also referred to as SEO. The ultimate goal of search engine optimization is to get a specific website to appear in the first few pages of a search engine result. It is search engines that generate the most search engine traffic. You should understand that free keyword-finding tools are just as efficient as the tools that cost money. This is how you will end up saving in the long run, by getting the things for free that a lot of eager start-ups are paying big money for. A free keyword tool is just as beneficial to you because you should be checking for obscure and lesser-used words and phrases in the first place. Avast Internet Security 2017 Crack One of the most important aspects of SEO is simply staying dedicated to the process. You must be vigilant in keeping up to date with new tactics as search engines are known to change their tactics regularly. Also, if you don't regularly modify your site, it will become stagnant and drop in the rankings. To encourage searchers to click on your site, make sure that you choose a relevant meta tag for every page of your website. The meta tag is the brief description that appears under your title on the search engine results page, and without it, people may not know what your site is about. Your website's header may be the first thing visitors see, but the footer of your website is also equally important. You can use your footer to your advantage and assist spiders as they navigate through your site by duplicating your main navigation and making sure your footer links are redirecting visitors to your site's most important pages. To bring more visitors to your web site, be sure to optimize your site so that search engines can find it easily. Use popular keywords and tags in your site's title tag. Search engines give a great deal of weight to this tag, so include the best, most powerful phrases and keywords in it. Search engine optimization is high on the priority list of many companies, because of its impact on future growth. You should consider providing links to new information on your site to some appropriate social networking platforms, such as Facebook or Twitter. The rationale is simple, the number of places where your links are viewed can be multiplied many times over, thus increasing the number of potential customers. Once you get your site ranked where you want it you can never stop working on search engine optimization. If you aren't improving your site then you are degrading its effectiveness. If you allow your site to slip down then someone will start ranking above you. Add new, relevant content continually and always work on improving your links. In order to see if your SEO efforts are working, check where you stand in search engine rankings. There are many programs and tools that do this, like Google Toolbar and Alexa. If you don't, you might be wasting your time assuming that your SEO is working while it isn't. Windows 7 Loader by DAZ 2.2 Final To optimize your search engine results it is important to make your URL easily identifiable. Include words that are relevant to the site as opposed to numbers and symbols. People will recognize those keywords in the URL, and are more likely to click on your link if they think it will bring them to a relevant page. Do not automatically redirect users to another site. Search engines see this as a malicious practice. Even if you honestly want to connect users to a new domain, it will still look as though you are trying to cheat the search engine. Instead, provide links to the new content, and encourage visitors to click through to the main webpage. To increase the traffic to your Internet marketing website, take into consideration the keywords that your customers are using to search for your product or content. Using a keyword analysis service can pinpoint the most likely keywords that potential customers are using. Adding the right keywords to your content or product description will result in more traffic. When titling your website files and setting their URLs, use hyphens rather than underscores to separate words. (e.g. "my-homepage" rather than "my_homepage") Using hyphens lets search engines read separate keywords when they index your site. Productivity Techniques Documentation
When I was in the process of coming to graduate school, one of the aspects I was most worried about was my time management skills, or, more specifically, the lacking nature of those skills. At my undergraduate institution, I was able to manage things pretty well because, honestly, not much was asked of me the majority of the time; when more was asked of me, I scrambled and pulled all-nighters for a day or two before assignments were due, and often turned projects in within a few minutes of the deadline, if not past it. I had been bad at time management for as long as I could remember, and I knew that moving to New York and interacting with people that mostly worked 9:00 AM-5:00 PM during the week that were free otherwise would only exacerbate my productivity issues.
I tried a few productivity tricks that we learned about, like the Pomodoro Technique, but I found that regardless of what technique I used, as soon as I took a five-minute break, I would forget about the five-minute mark, and as a result, spiral, and spiral, and spiral, and spiral. Four hours later, I would find myself watching yet another muted YouTube video compilation of cats being dumb on one monitor while playing Hearthstone on my laptop and watching a pretty trash Netflix original show on my TV. It is now 2:00 AM, none of my work has gotten done, and I just give up and go to bed. Needless to say, I was a bit worried after about a week of this, because I knew that my old ways would not work here, and I also really just needed to get an actual sleep schedule and learn to adult like a normal person Due to this nervousness, when I saw that a couple of my professors recommended David Allen’s book Getting Things Done, I ended up buying it. I have never been one for self-help books of any kind, but this book has actually been really helpful, and I’ve been doing my best to apply most of his advice in my daily life. Unfortunately, it hasn’t all stuck yet, but I think I’ve made a bit of progress, which is what’s most important to me. The one piece of advice from Mr. Allen that I feel has really stuck with me is his Two-Minute Rule, as in his rule to complete any given task immediately unless it will take you over two minutes, in which case, you prioritize it via its context and put it on your schedule for later.
I really like Allen’s Two-Minute Rule because it helps me declutter all of my separate daily tasks floating around in my brain, which helps me be significantly less overwhelmed by the sheer amount of things I need to get done. One thing I’ve noticed, however, is that in real life, I only took on the sentiment of Mr. Allen’s rule. Most of the tasks I think it will take me two minutes or less and do immediately end up actually taking me roughly five minutes every time. I suppose everyone is different, so that is okay. I’ve been trying to remind myself that I need to strive for progress, rather than perfection, because that’s what’s attainable, and that it is okay to be human.
So, while putting this rule into action, I had to figure out a way to document and schedule the tasks that I need more time to complete. At first, I tried writing it all down physically in a notebook. I figured that, since I need to write information out to retain it when I study (preferably on index cards), if I wrote out the tasks I had to complete in a notebook, I would remember to schedule time to do them and accomplish the tasks later. I was very wrong. As with every school year since middle school, after roughly a week and a half, the planner/notebook that I used to write down all of my assignments sat idle on my desk under a pile of papers.
However, this time was different. When I cleaned off my desk and discovered the ‘I <3 IDM’ notebook I used eight pages of, I thought to myself ‘there has to be a better way for me to remember to write this stuff down.’ So, after about ten years of suffering through not writing anything down, I finally ended up actually Googling the issue I kept having. As a result, I found the browser extension Momentum.
This is Momentum. Momentum is an extension that displays a page similar to the one pictured above every time you open a new tab in your browser. In the extension, you write your main focus for the day below the time in the center of the screen. In this example, my main focus for the day is Ideation and Prototyping. The background picture and motivational quote changes every day, and the weather widget is fairly accurate as well. The To-Do list function is typically closed, but I leave my window open, as an extra little reminder that I have a To-Do list whenever I go to a new web page. I love this extension because of how easy it is to navigate to, and how it is literally a constant in-your-face reminder that A) I have stuff I need to do, and B) I need to write down any additional stuff I need to do. The best part: I can’t lose it or forget it in my apartment, making me miss a day and then lose motivation to continue using it.
So, I personally use Momentum as a notepad of sorts and a running list of all things that I have to do that day. Whenever someone says something that reminds me of a task I need to complete, I hit CMD+T to open a new tab, click on my To-Do list, and write it down. Later, when I’m looking at my To-Do list in Momentum, if I see something that is more of an academic task, I put it into My Study Life as well. I try to keep my Momentum list as non-school-based as possible, and typically write an item like ‘Schoolwork’ or a class name as a reminder to myself to check My Study Plan and see what work I have to do for that class.
My Study Plan is another app that I ended up finding that fateful day I ended up actually Googling how to be a productive student. I use My Study Plan as my lifeline for managing graduate school’s workload. It’s a pretty simple app and really helps you organize your academic life once you input all of the necessary data, like your class schedule, exams, assignments, and more.
This is My Study Plan’s dashboard. It walks you through your week and the things that are coming your way. I like how the app lays everything out really visually and tells you your schedule and exactly what you have due what day as soon as you open it. I don’t leave the dashboard most of the time when I open it honestly, because I can do most things I need to from there, and all of the other parts in the application I either have memorized or don’t use. (I am so glad all of my classes this semester are project-based.)
This is my calendar! I only really go to the calendar section to mark down formal group project meetings. Typically I will cross-post that information as a task as well, so that I see it immediately when I go on my dashboard and don’t forget to go to the calendar. I have been thinking about using it to assign and block out times to work on homework, but since I am notoriously bad at estimating how long it takes me to do something, I’m very wary of this.
This is the task section! I go to the task section maybe once a week, just to see all academic tasks I have to complete in the short-run and the long-run at the same time. Most of the time, when I have to input a new task, I do it on the dashboard, but it’s sometimes helpful to see everything listed out like this.
This is my schedule! It’s a list of my classes and the information surrounding them (place, time, day of the week, start/end date, etc.). This information is then input into the calendar for ease of tracking. I have only come to this page once since starting to use My Study Plan because after inputting the info, I really have no need; I have the time, place, and day of the week memorized, and the individual classes appear in my calendar every week, so if need be, I just look there.
The last tool I have been using consistently and has actually improved my productivity is a tool someone in class discussed called StayFocusd. This extension allows you to prevent yourself from accessing certain websites while you’re working; despite the fact that I can easily turn it off, I find that whenever I actually go to turn off the extension, I feel bad enough about doing it that I get back to work and start focusing again. The app really lives up to its name and has helped me stay focused.
Here is my list of blocked websites. I feel like it keeps growing because I keep finding new ways to distract myself on the internet while I’m trying to work, but nevertheless, it works!
Here’s the blurb that comes up whenever you go to a page that you have on your blocked list. I give myself ten minutes max on each of my listed sites before StayFocusd actually cuts me off, so that I can control myself and my breaks. I really like how the blurb tells you your time limit, and gives you the options to block the site immediately, go ‘nuclear’ aka block the entire internet, or go into your settings and change things around. I have yet to turn off the blocks to circumvent that, and I really hope it stays that way for a while.
As of right now, I have been using these methods to manage my time and be as productive as possible. I am honestly very happy with my progress, and I feel that I have come very far since coming to graduate school because of these techniques. Hopefully I will improve as the semester goes on!

I want to make a digital scavenger hunt, that consists of multiple projects of various mediums, and use their titles to tell a connected and cohesive story about love.(?)
5. Related Projects

this seemed like a doable example of layout maybe for final presentation
https://www.instagram.com/subwayhands/
https://projects.jennyholzer.com/exhibitions/jenny-holzer-mass-moca--/gallery#1
I dont want to get caught in a web of searching for niche art on youtube when I know I need to put my time into the actualy project themselves, but that is a starting place right now.
