Haikyuu!! Boys as stepdads PT.2

It’s likely i’ll do a part 2 for most of them (some I emotionally, mentally, and spiritually CANNOT), but this one was voted as the most wanted sequel in the poll I did.

**Funny story, this was actually the FIRST Haikyuu!! Boys headcanon I ever did :) So please keep in mind my format, and writing style have changed, so they’re gonna be a bit different🥰**

Meian Shugo: A little clumsy at first, but he gets the hang of it

Is better if you guys are little, cause he can work with little kids.

But if you guys are teenagers??

He’s completely lost.

Does his best, he really does! He tries to have normal conversations and ‘dad things’ but man...it’s rough for a good 6 months.

When he does adjust, he’s honestly not bad.

He’s pretty great actually. There’s a lot of perks to having a pro athlete as your stepdad cause *aHeM* money

Omimi Ren: You’re suspicious at first cause he just seems suspicious, but he’s really a pretty nice guy

When your mom first brings him home you’re on guard.

Not cause you necessarily think he’s a bad guy, he just seems intimidating? Quiet? Maybe it’s just cause he’s unknown to you.

But after a few months, you realize he’s a pretty solid guy.

Very responsible, he’ll never be late to pick you up from school or parties, and you’ll always be on time to school.

But he’s also not against spoiling you and your siblings every now and then.

You guys actually have a really good relationship.

He deals with your teenage angst really well, he doesn’t take anything personally and does his best to be understanding.

Kita Shinsuke: s t r i c t. But a good stepdad

Doesn’t care he’s not your biological dad, you are his responsibility and it’s his job to help make you into a functional human.

Isn’t like the military strict, just on certain things like grades and chores. He’s not pretentious about it either, he just expects all of you to do your parts.

He’s honestly a strange mix of strict and laid-back.

Strict when it comes to responsibilities but chill most everywhere else.

Puts a lot of trust in you, he doesn’t question your choices because he trusts you to make good ones. But if you ever breech that trust he’d have no problem going into lock down mode for a bit.

Isn’t very controlling, especially when it comes to boys or friends.

Lets you enjoy your teen years while making sure you’re becoming a functioning adult.

Suna Rintaro: Would let you get away with murder if he could

Very chill, doesn’t yell or argue, just kinda coexists with you/your siblings.

But he’s not a push over, if you do something wrong wrong, yeah he’ll say something or tell your mom but he’s not super strict..

Tells you to just call him by his first name, last name, he doesn’t care.

I can see him being a little caught off guard at first cause...how do you UwU interact with them.

Not too pushy or anything he just kinda...lets you do your own thing.

Ohira Leon: Another one you might as well adopt as your real dad

You could be nothing but sinister to this man and he’d never despise you for it.

He genuinely loves your mom, and by circumstance, he comes to love you and your siblings as his own.

Treats you all really well, but respects any boundaries you guys put up.

Doesn’t pull the ‘listen to your mother’ thing stepdads do, cause he knows he only has so much power y’know?

But he honestly doesn’t need to, you and your siblings are pretty darn happy he’s your stepdad, heck he might as well just be your real dad.

Yamagata Hayato: Pretty solid honestly, you wonder where he’s been your whole life

You weren’t crazy at the idea of having a stepdad, but when you got to know him, you were pretty cool with it.

He’s the perfect mix of responsible with fun, and also parent and friend.

He’s a good hype man, and he encourages you guys to do a lot, like sports and clubs.

He encourages you guys to be active!

Doesn’t force you though, he’s good about trying to understand and appreciate all of your different interest and hobbies!

Doesn’t care about grades as long as you do your best, if you give it your all, he’ll be happy.

Will get you a tutor or help if he sees you struggling, but he’d never stress you out about it.

Kunimi Akira:...wait, he’s a father now?

He wasn’t too concerned when your mom said she had kids.

I mean, they can’t be that difficult right? Just feed them, give them things and a little pat on the head right?

He’s not bad, he does care about you guys but man...the teen years are going to be rough.

Definitely was better when you guys were younger, it’s the teen years he struggles with.

Man was not prepared for the sweet little girls to turn into moody monsters out for blood at the drop of a hat.

He’s doing his best alright..

Kindaichi Yuutarou: He’s more scared of you than you are of him

Had no clue what he was doing.

You were quite amused when you first met him though, he looked like he was a teenage boy meeting his girlfriends parents.

Nonetheless, you found he’s very nice and he treats your mom, and you and your siblings well.

He’s actually a really good stepdad!!

Very supportive, but very good with boundaries. He made sure to have a good relationship with you and your siblings, he’s more like a friend than a father, but that’s perfectly fine with all of you~

If you have an argument with your mom, he’s playing mediator instead of taking sides.

Yaku Morisuke: Is fine...until your teen years

lol it’s not you and your mom arguing, it’s you and HIM.

Pretty strict, and definitely takes on a more parental role in your life.

Which he is good at, you guys are still alive after all.

But especially when you become teens you guys go at each others throats almost every other day.

Never even thinks about making any ‘it’s my house get out’ threats because he genuinely cares about you, but it’s a bad matchup of temper vs hormones.

Things mellow down when you grow up, you guys get along much better when you’re an adult.

Numai Kazuma: Little lost at first, but once he warms up to it he’s a pro

When you guys first meet he’s a little lost cause...he kinda has kids now.

But once it really sinks in and he comes to terms with it, he’s honestly kinda pumped.

Wants to have a good relationship with you and your siblings, and you guys find out he’s a really cool guy!

Tells you stories from his high school days, and will teach you guys to play volleyball.

Treats you as he would his own kids cause he lowkey does love you guys<3

Sakusa Kiyoomi: mutual despising from both parties

Neither one of you are thrilled about having (a) stepdad/stepkids.

It’s not personal so to say but...

it is awkward. The first time you guys had to be in a room alone together was the worst 5 minutes of your life, it was so painfully quiet.

He does...try...he gets you guys Christmas presents, and birthday presents, and he does what you need to survive but...

Good about letting things be, and not fueling the fire when you’re moody or upset.

But he is going to side with your mom, every.single.time.

Komori Motoya: ‘fun’ parent, he’ll turn a blind eye to a n y t h i n g

Sees you doing something irresponsible and he’s like ‘ooh, looks fun’

Would never let you put yourself in danger, just let you do stupid things because he’s genuinely interested to know what happens.

Helps you avoid punishment and makes sure your mom won’t catch you.

It physically hurts him to see you guys upset, so he’s a really good comforter and supporter!

He comes too all of your games, recitals, whatever it is you’re into!

He really just wants you guys to be happy and to like him.

hello hey hi and a splendid saturday to you, I come bearing a question for the wip4 gang and that question is: what is each of their most significant memories? additionally, are there any memories they would jump at the chance to get rid of? ok bye please have an excellent day \o/ (and before you yell at me I'm going to sleep now I swear)

I’m glad that when you even LOOK at me you think ‘oh sleep time’ I am Pavlov and you are my dog and this metaphor is stupid I will answer your question now

I’m gonna... assume this is uhh pre-story question because I know for a fact that at least three characters would change their answer to at least one question if it was post-story. My house, my rules. 

Keaton’s most significant memory is p r o b a b l y the time when he was in year 12 (17), and he was called to the head of sixth form office. He’d been at this school since year 7 (11), and had realised he was trans in year 8 (12/13), and had then been fighting for the right to use his bathroom ever since. This had previously resulted in punishment. In year 10 (15), he made progress, being allowed to use the disabled bathroom, but he wanted the men's bathroom dammit. 

Anyway, called to head of sixth form, assumed it was related to that issue. Pessimistic about the whole ordeal. 

Turned out there was another student in like year 9 who had come out as trans as well, and the school had gone ‘UHHHHHHHHH LET’S DO BETTER THIS TIME’ so Keaton, being the only other trans student in this rural Norfolk school, was assigned as her... mentor??? I guess? 

He was half like ‘fuck y’all’ and half like ‘I will not let this young woman go through the same shit you all put me through, I will guard her like a HAWK’. He was still not allowed to use his bathroom, but he makes her fight a little easier; she’s allowed to use her bathroom in year 10, after he left. They still meet up every now and then for coffee. 

Memory to be rid of: First day on a Professional Set, he walked backwards whilst taking a tea order and fell into a bin. Terrible first impression. He still got jobs afterwards, but sometimes people will be like ‘oh yeah I’ve heard of you you’re the bin guy’ and he wants to punch them.

I know you’re here for Mika so I’ll go to them, most significant memory: probably his first pride? He didn’t intend to go to pride, but he was in the city on the day of pride and just walked past all these rainbows and flags and people being so open and proud and themselves. He was maybe fifteen, and had been having those fun Gender Feels that you try and hide at age fifteen, because you’re only fifteen and most people tell you you’re not old enough to know anything about yourself, yknow? 

Someone gave him a flyer at one point, and when he got back to his Ultra Christian Household, he hid it and would read through it some nights. When he had it memorised, he started to explore more about queerness online. He’s the guy who can tell you all about LGBT history due to this research. This was only done in the city on the library computers, where his trail couldn’t be tracked. It gave him some sort of start for labels, some sort of safe space, some sort of New Approach to everything he’d been feeling. 

Memory to be rid of: last day in Ultra Christian School. He was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school and it wasn’t awful until he was about fourteen, at which point he started to grow his hair. They told him to cut it constantly. He was punished for it. He kept the hair. 

It got bad but it wasn’t until he was about seventeen that it really buckled; first real notable psychotic episode. He told people, they were convinced it was some sort of possession, convinced he’d sinned, convinced of all these horrible things about him and drove him out until he could ‘act normally’ again. He did not go back. 

In all honesty, the second he turned 18, he took his savings from various dead grandparents and a part-time job, bought a second-hand (maybe third-hand) camper-van and left home. 

He goes back for Christmas only. 

Mooooving on, Lynne! Who I do not talk about enough; she’s also part of the documentary squad, and actually the reason the whole squad exists. Producer and director, she’s very cool okcoolthanks

Most significant memory: That one time she was thirteen and her parents had officially declared their divorce. She was living with her dad and it was really, really weird and she was not enjoying it. Divorce is a big deal to some families, and this family was one of them, and she was really unsure about her entire future. 

Cue Mika, young and mostly obedient, kicking down the door (not literally) and kidnapping her (again, not literally) to come pick blackberries with him (very literally). They stayed out until the sun went down in early Autumn. She forgot about the divorce for a small amount of time. They ended the day eating fish and chips straight from the paper whilst sitting in a tree and talking about nothing important at all. 

They made jam out of the blackberries the next day. It was gross. Both of them refused to admit it was gross. 

Memory to be rid of: She went camping one time with friends from school. Lynne is Muslim and so did not go to Catholic school with Mika, they just lived near each other, and so school friends went ‘hey we’re going camping you should come’ she did come. 

It was a mess. They were fifteen and determined to drink, and English peer pressure to drink is weird, so she did take some drink but didn’t drink it. Someone threw up on her tent and blamed it on her. No-one bought any food or water, the only thing she was able to drink was lemonade bought for mixing and that had ants in it within two hours. 

She woke up first and left them all there, then walked home because she was meant to be lift-sharing. It took an hour and a half. She preferred that to being in the car. 

That group wasn’t her only group of friends, but it was her main group, so things were awkward for a while. 

Moving on from Documentary Squad, Percival! Percy Percival who I wish I could call Percy because it’s so much easier to write. 

Significant memory: winning an art contest when he was like. Eleven. Really living the high-life, ol’ Percival. It was a city-wide contest, with various age categories. He was part of the 11-18 clump, which put him at a disadvantage, but he still won. As a reward, his art was replicated on a mural in one of the shopping malls in town, and he got some fancy vouchers for a fancy art shop in the city. 

Winning the art contest made him go ‘oh wait I’m actually good at this thing I really like doing I should learn how to do that more’ and you could barely pry him away from his sketchbook from that point on. 

Those vouchers were stored away until he was 14 and doing art GCSE, at which point he bought a nice sketchbook and oil paints. He’s now very good at oil painting. I hate him for being good at oil painting. Oil painting SUCKS. 

Memory to be rid of: I’m torn between three and they’re all similar so I’ll go for all of them. 

#1 - losing an eye to Abby’s experiments. You read the lil short story I think (I know I checked just now) - she’s a very kind and loving sister who sometimes moves his body parts around. One time, he lost an eye and went blind for a few weeks. He had nightmares about it for months. It was very painful.

#2 - losing a finger. To Abby’s experiments. It was the middle finger on his left hand and it didn’t go back into place quickly enough - now it’s always numb and discoloured. Good news is he’s right-handed and not a musician so no worries about losing dexterity on that hand. 

#3 - losing two ribs. To Abby’s experiments.  There’s a very clear trend here. She wanted to try moving things she couldn’t see around. She moved two ribs away. She decided it was more dangerous to put them back. Now they just have two of Percival’s ribs lying around.

On that note, final person, this is very long. Abby! She’s fun. Most significant memory;

okay the word ‘significant’ has caught me off-guard several times cause like wow how do you figure out significant memories for people. I don’t have just one, yknow? But I think I know one for her. 

She’s the eldest out of her and Percival and, for a while, people wanted her to set an example for him, which she tried to do, but she wasn’t good at what people wanted her to be good at. She’s good with people. She’s good at very specific parts of biology. She’s good at psychology. She’s not good at school and tests. 

So, when Percival started to beat the standards she set for him, her parents almost... egged competition on. Played favourites, compared the two siblings. Nobody really noticed what she could do, they only cared about what she struggled with. And the parents were rarely around to help out with what she was struggled with. So she struggled on and tried to keep her head high.

Cue a family wedding, she was snooping around the snack table at the reception and overheard her parents talking about her. And how they were almost disappointed in her. How they were annoyed that she couldn’t be more like Percival, honestly, what did they do wrong? 

She got bitter. She pretends she doesn’t care but she’s bitter, and with no parents around to lash out at, she lashes out at Percival, who isn’t even aware. Good times. Not good times. Significant times. 

Memory to be rid of: Honestly? Probably hearing her parents talking about her at the family wedding. It stings. 

A n y w a y this was extremely long I like going into detail with short stories, if you read this far then thank you I appreciate it I will give you a feather from my feather collection. Probably a swan feather. I have a lot of swan feathers.

BACKGROUND: 

So Slater was born in London, England however when he was younger he moved around a lot with his parents until they settled in LA. Mainly for his dads business and his mum had previously lived there too.

His mum was a travel writer which explains why they traveled a lot, his father runs a few escort agencies + brothels ( nevada only we do it legal here )  and also started up his own pornographic production company / film studio in LA. it would probably now be one of the biggest in the world.  ( think vivid entertainment meets brazzers ) u know FILTHY RICH SHIT.

Both his parents were obviously away quite a lot, his dad ran so many businesses and hmm was hands-on lets say but the household was pretty calm when he was fairly young. his mum was super attentive and loving and just such an amazing role model and always wanted to take him with her to show him the world when she had to leave. i think he definitely was a mummas boy.

at about 8/9 however would’ve been when things kind of came crashing down for him. he really caught his dad cheating on his mum w/ one of the porn stars he hired from the studio. His dad would’ve really asked him NOT to tell him mum because it would break their family up. obviously, slater was like terrified of the chance of losing his family so he just pretended nothing ever happened.

he was so conflicted because he was keeping this huge secret and he had so much guilt but he didn’t wanna be the one to ruin things. Like his dad basically used him as a cover like expecting him to lie for him for a long time. it would’ve really eaten away at him. like it would’ve not been a one-time thing, but slater was in denial for sure.

i think one day slater would’ve slipped up in one of his lies for his dad and his mum ended up fighting out what happened and it was such a mess. it would've led to their divorce and god that was.. SOO messy. they defs didnt have a prenup and like the custody.

I think lowkey he was miserable being with his dad, he had so much resentment and sadness there. he would’ve been okay being with his mum the whole time.

His dad was really the type of parent that would use his kids against each his ex wife like they would use slater to pass on messages and being like no u can’t have him for that day etc etc And not taken slater into consideration.

his dad though really tried his absolute best to bring his mum down which was sooo sad to see, like watching her get put through the ringer by his dad and she just became a bit of a shell of who she was, because he obviously had more than enough money to do it and didn’t want her to see a dime of it even tho he.. RLLY BE LIVING THE HIGH LIFE.

slater would’ve just been back and forth between them both up until he was about 15 when his mum, unfortunately, passed away due to drugs. which was SO UNEXPECTED.  i think there was definitely a lot more to it, like she definitely was self-medicating to help go through the still pending divorce. which would’ve lasted years. 

anyways losing his mum devastated slater because truly she was like a best friend to him, she was. he always enjoyed the weeks at his mums more than his dad and now he knew he’d be stuck there.

he fights a lot with his dad still about everything that happened and what he did, he blames him for it and putting a LITERAL KID in the middle.

anyways though since the separation his dad had like a myriad of “ girlfriends” around who were probably all young enough to be like a step sibling tbh. he never took to any of them until his stepmom. who shockingly he actually really likes. shes one thing keeping his family together atm.

 Anyways as you can imagine slaters dads business was huge and his dad is truly raking in the money but slater has always felt uncomfortable spending or even benefiting off it which is why he’s extremely secretive considering he knows where it comes from and he doesn’t exactly support his dad let alone he doesn’t want to have to explain that to people and get them looking into his family.

his father has really tried and put up this front though as if he’s a huge family man now and is conservative and super religious and smh that pissed off slater to the max. he’s like that dont make no fucking sense..

 when he high school hit though they were going to country clubs all that shit slater hated basically. he truly didn’t mind acting out just to spite his dad knowing hey your a family man what are you gonna do about it??

this drove his dad so crazy and only meant more rules were put on him, it was about the only attention his dad gave him.

when hey fight though its really wild, you know slater throws it in his dads face basically just some fucking pimp and exploits people and he’s never gonna do that and he’d rather have nothing than follow in his footsteps

i think his dad has been fined multiple times for some shady shit going on in his businesses. plus its been common knowledge in the depths of the industry they heavily provide them w/ alcohol drugs etc. probably has had an issue with the treatment of the people hes hired. lawsuits.  there's more under the surface that even slater doesnt know.

there would’ve been a bit of a scandal where his dad employed one of his dumbass country club friends daughters aka someone even slater knew to star in one of his adult films

 but regardless like he knew he really was fortunate he lived an extremely privileged life, like he would be set for life, could sit do nothing and its good. he just never had a huge interest in it unlike his father who really always said that he would take over everything someday and it would turn into a huge family business. and he was like yikes someone come tell him.. no thanks. 

 His dad and him definitely had a rocky relationship after his moms death, he  didn’t parent very much and just left his stepmom in so many uncomfortable situations but honestly

 He saw her more as a friend though then a mum but she was the best parental figure he’s ever even had. She’d genuinely try so hard to make sure his dad was acting like one like telling him he’s going to his sons gigs or else even though slater knew his dad would come for 2 seconds to appease his wife then leave.

But growing up he’s always been super careful of who’s around him and who he lets into his life probably as a result of how secretive his family has always instilled in him to be.

 Like his dad keeps saying we’re family we come first, and he never wanted slater to be sharing that with people about what they did.

 But he has such a resentment to his dad, like he thinks he’s a mess he has a wife he doesn’t give a fuck about a son he doesn’t see, he does god knows what he just is so convinced he can’t turn out like him ever. 

I think people genuinely think he must not come from money because the amount of people who have ever met his parents or seen his house is a handful if that. 

Like he’s always hanging out at other people’s places and just he’s never been really extravagant unless its to purposely spite his dad yikes. that comes from anger.

Like he really got himself a job even though his dad said he could come work for him just cause he was like yeah I don’t want to run ur dumb company and make money off it u pos? 

His dad has definitely been investigated a few times for shady practices. slater definitely started looking into law for that reason, like he genuinely thought he wants to actually be able to put guys who screw the system and own huge corporations and think they can pay outta anything in jail.

meanwhile his dad thought great a lawyer who can defend our family business smh so he supports him He has no clue slater would rather take him down.

PERSONALITY

losing his mom AND one his best friends showed him that he needs to really do everything he wants to and in that moment which does make him selfish at times 

i think he has abandonment issues, i think like when  his best friend who was kinda the reason he came to lex, happened to pass away also triggered that again ( TBD WHY im leaving this open for plots ) and that really shook him all over.

he really almost feels cursed at this stage.

he was pretty sheltered tbh because his dad wasn’t trusting AT ALL and at first was homeschooled until High school so he didn’t exactly grow up outgoing or being able to have many people at his place or tell them about his life.

i think theres not many people who know he’s related to his dad business, even tho his dad business iS HUGE and legit is his last name. and hes like yeah ha coincidence right??? not my dad at all.

He’s super fucking blunt though like he may be secretive with his personal life but his ass does not hold back which has gotten him into way too many problems. 

He just feels like he grew up lying about so much, his dad was like we don't want people taking advantage of you if they find out who you are and use things against me.

 he hated that and all the secrets about his dad he kept so don’t expect him to hold back on feelings or thoughts back at all 

LOVES to spite and piss his dad off even if that means 30+ students at his dads place during a business meeting lets do it.

He acts a lot without thinking like he sucks at planning anything and a lot of time he seems a little flighty and that he doesn’t take things serious enough esp his relationships

.He’d really go above and beyond though for anyone who’s proven to him that they can be trusted like he’s been known to be all in he either gives it everything or nothing so he goes extravagant

 He’s definitely a realist and a little bit cynical too, like he’s seen way too much shit to really have some ideal look on life. 

He doesn’t believe in some fairytale or things just happen for a reason or really in fate or anything like that. 

Like he doesn’t think love fixes everything and someone can be your happiness at all . hes like clearly its only problems so.

He’s only ever really had one serious relationship and a bunch of other casual things but that was just nothing to him

has ocd. tries to let it affect his life as little as possible, but obviously it’s incredibly hard to control a compulsive disorder. was teased for it at school when other kids started to notice. he was obsessed with the number five, would wash his hands five times, count stairs i groups of five, he could only use the corridors in one direction and always had to keep his hands busy. it manifests itself in hyper-fixations (trains when he was a child – specifically steam engines – then later he became obsessed with space and the patterns of constellations, and now he’s obsessed with synthesizers) and repetitive behaviours like counting stairs. doesn’t really affect his social life at all, he can jst get a bit locked-on n hyper-focused sometimes.

amira was born on January 1, 1999 in Kona, Hawaii. she is actually the first baby born in the new year in Hawaii. her parents, dane and stella jenkins, were high school sweethearts & only 20-year-olds at the time of the birth of their daughter. 

her younger years were great, her parents spoiled her by taking her on trips and buying her whatever she would want. they treated her like a princess and soon anought she sorta turned into one.

but unfortunately when mira was 10 years old, her parents had filed for divorce and were currently fighting over who would she would live with. ultimately, amira’s father got custody of her during the week and she would visit her mother on weekends. 

dane jenkins, her father, is the co-owner of jenkin bros industries, which is a construction company. dane & his brother inherited it from their father and now run the business together. after the divorce, dane turned into quite the workaholic but still made time for his daughter

stella jenkins was a college student at the time, in which she decided she would drop out of school to become a full-time mother. during her time with dane she remained a stay at home mother but once they got divorced she started taking to online classes to finish getting her degree in social work.

she prefers to go by ‘mira’ instead of amira & will def give you the evil eye and a lil attitude if you call her by that. amira only allows close friends & family to call her that!

amira is daddy’s little girl & she wouldn’t have it any other way. her father treats her with everything she wants & give her all the money she wants to make up for not being home as much as he should. obvi one she will stop taking advantage of it but she is going to enjoy it while it last.

amira’s relationship didn’t really get much better after the divorce. sometimes she wouldn’t even go to her mom’s house on the weekend bc she was “busy.” eventually amira found out the truth, her mother had cheated on her father and was seeing some other guy instead of hanging out with her. what made it worse was she found out that he had a son, it made her feel as if her own mother would rather spend time with her son. amira never let her mother know that and still holds it against her till this day.

growing up with a decent amount of money had it pros and cons on mira as she grew up. she has grown to have a very luxurious taste. always has to the best of everything lol

ever since amira was younger she was always very bubbly and outgoing. she was actually vry into school bc she would get to see her friends.

she wasn’t a bad student, getting some A’s but mostly B’s but she really didn’t mind. she knew she couldn’t be the best at everything but at least she tried her hardest.

when amira started high school, her grades did improve but she herself got wilder. she was the biggest partier & pothead in the high school she attended. but no matter how wild she was, she kept up her grades & eventually made it to the honor roll.

also during high school, amira got really into creating art, whether it be painting, drawing or taking photographs. she also joined the soccer team to keep her busy but mostly to look good on her college application lmao

in her senior year of high school, amira decided to take a risk and apply to college she dreamed of going to, yale, doubting they would every accept her. but quite to her surprise, she was issued a half a scholarship at yale. she also turned out to be the valedictorian of her graduating class.

it broke her heart to leave her family. mostly her dad, in Hawaii but she wanted to pursue her dreams and she knew that they have her back no matter what happens

in her freshman year amira didn’t know what she wanted to do until she took some biology & anatomy classes & realized that she wanted to be in the medical field, ultimately deciding on nursing as her major

amira also continued to play soccer in her college career & joined the photography & art club to help her mind stay focused throughout the year. 

amira also rushed the delta psi delta sorority & decided to join when they offered it her. at the beginning she thought it would be a waste of time but she fell in love with her sisters & couldn’t imagine not being in the house with them.

ANyways i’m totally rambling rn so i shall stop her and move on to the next thing !!

so basically del grows up w/ her doctor parents & her older brother theo and everything’s all good and well , u know besides the fact that her parents are lowkey strict. she’s a Normal Kid and asks too many questions and she’s pretty bright for her age 

del also grows up in the shadow of her brother and her achievements are always Less Than her brother’s so :// more on that later

then her parents divorce when she’s in 5th grade and she starts to constantly fight w/ her mom bc her mom was lowkey having an affair prior to the divorce and its all just one big Mess 

high school comes around and its an even bigger mess! enter Mean Girl™ olivia. del basically gets into the Popular clique at school and she starts to rebel and party hard and get drunk and her grades are kinda slipping but u know she’s just like whatever!!!! she also kinda joins in on bullying other ppl and its really just so so bad but she doesn’t realize it bc she’s succumbing to peer pressure and just wants friends

it also helps avoid her problems @ home bc her parents literally only talk about him n how he’s going to harvard and he’s gonna be a doctor etc etc

then she secretly dates olivia’s crush in like sophomore year and she thinks that everythings just the absolute best!!! but jokes on her bc olivia basically betrays her by kissing delphine’s bf and spreads a bunch of rumors that devastates delphine

so delphine just becomes quiet again and retreats to her studies and tries her best to keep her head down

fast forward to middle of her senior year ! her brother comes back home and he gets into a really bad car accident that paralyzes his legs and delphine wants to find who’s responsible. she ends up tracking down the guy and follows the entire court case but the judge + jury + lawyers are all pretty shitty and end up letting the guy go without charging him anything or putting him in jail

this causes delphine to really get set on the path to becoming a criminal lawyer ... but it’s not her parents’ plans

she fights with them constantly bc they want her to be a doctor bc it’s a safe option and they don’t think that delphine will make it as a lawyer and that it’s not as financially stable and they try to put all these worries in her head

but delphine for once is sure of something!! and decides to take control of her own dream and when her brother declares a gap year to take time to explore, it fully pushes her to get away from her parents and their attempted control over her

she graduates valedictorian and goes to yale and is finally starting to become independent !!

then she learns her dad has early on-set dementia so she decides to look after him and such, so she transfers schools to be more nearby to where he lives and thus she transfers to cunningham university beginning her sophomore year!

personality

delphine is a super ambitious and determined person. tell her she can’t do something? she’ll do it. she has her eyes set on the prize

she’s super passionate and talkative if u get her on the right subject, but otherwise she normally doesn’t show a ton of emotion and a typical first impression of her is that she’s cold and apathetic?? but that’s mainly bc she’s just super logical and honest and will cut straight to the chase

and when i say logical i mean this girl is a downright realist and honestly judges things more with her mind than her heart so it often causes her to be pretty matter-of-fact and cynical and overthink situations. 

she is NOT afraid of confrontation and is super assertive and will fight for her side always. she thinks she’s always right and is p much a gigantic know-it-all and super dogmatic. she’s just super stubborn

she’s also a big control freak and has to have everything her way so she’s super perfectionistic and bossy?? she definitely steps on toes in group projects and she’s honestly always afraid of losing that control... which turns into her worrying a lot and never taking any risks. she likes to stay in her comfort zone p much

she grew up in a small town in wisconsin where her parents owned a farm. they mostly had animals (cows, goats, chickens, and sheep) and rented out their farmland to other ppl.

she was an only child so.......she always kind of had to make due by herself. she’d hang out w the animals all day and she usually kept herself busy drawing or readin

the relationship between her parents had always been kinda rocky. she was the product of an unplanned teen pregnancy and it was clear they only rly stayed together bc.....they had to???

they were mostly just together for panda u know. but at some point her dad started seeing another woman lowkey behind everyone’s backs, but like…everyone kind of knew tbh bc.....the town is so small like everyone knows ur business.

panda was oblivious to it all tho, she likes to see the best in people. she loved her dad so much and thought of him very highly. he’s he dad after all!!!! her hero!!!!!!!

when she was 12, her dad just split one day while she was away at school and she came home to an empty house. he’d left to start his new life with his new girlfriend in the city without a word. he only left a pile of old sweaters (which panda kept & wears). a few weeks later some divorce papers came in the mail for her mom & that was that

for a few months, panda was the one that had to pick up the pieces. her mom wouldn’t get out of bed or get any work done or cook or clean or do laundry or do anything so it all fell on panda. she’d make breakfast and dinner for her & her mom and make herself lunch for school. she’d do the laundry and make sure her mom was fed and make sure the animals were fed & she barely had any time for herself.

it was around this time that her uncle and cousin noah came to stay a little while and visit, but ended up moving in permanently to help them around the house and help panda pick up the pieces & panda was kind of able to be a kid again, but.......also not really

pandora was always a kind of quiet and sensitive kid and she always got picked on at school for being a little weird, but after the whole family drama scandal it really only got worse? so she became really reclusive and didn’t do much other than go to school and go home and work on the farm, like she did before. honestly......this was just like her life now rip. she didn’t really have that many friends, but she found a lot of comfort in hanging out w the animals at home

and she also ended up growing a strong bond with her cousin because he was a bit of a black sheep himself. they’d just kind of chill w the animals together and just talk for hours. of course she loved her brother too, but he was like…..a lot cooler than her, so it was harder to relate u know

she also got really into art as a kid. she found it really helped her bc she couldn’t always express herself thru words, but she could always express herself thru art

honestly she’s just spend hours sitting around with the cows n noah, doing her homework and working on her art

the kinda gal that literally.....was constantly doodling ?? like always came home w pen on her legs and her notebooks were filled with little drawings in the margins & stuff u know the type

and it was like….she wanted to get out asap ?? she just kind of needed a breather too and like…..a change. she wanted to start over, i guess.

she mom didn’t really believe that she could do it ?? like “oh that’s nice sweetie but that’s not a job” & also like she said explicitly at times that her work wouldn’t rly be good enough to make a career out of which was v upsetting. she lowkey believed it but she was destined to prove her mom wrong

so she was like ok !!!!! i’m gonna go to school pce out fam. but she had to take a year off after graduation to like....save money bc she didn’t know if she’d be able to get scholarships

she ended up getting accepted to princeton & she probably cried for a week straight. she’s doesn’t rly come from a lot of money so she needs student aid and she puts pretty much all of her savings into school

so here she is......w a double major of fine arts major & fum bc she REALLY wants to do special effects makeup & character design and make films ig !!!!

RIVALRY TASK #008 - THE INTERVIEW [SEASON 2].

“hello, my full name is dalton christopher ross. i was born on the eighth of september in the year of nineteen-ninety-four. meaning very recently i turned twenty three. old, i know. i feel like twenty-one, twenty-two is a good age but once you’re twenty-three you feel old. not bad old though but like...i don’t know, just old. my zodiac sign is a virgo. typical, i know. virgos are known for being picky and critical and always being the butt of the jokes. me. but they’re known also for helping others...that i’ve gradually gone into. not so much before. whatever. i grew up in a very small village known as lacock in wiltshire, england. i mean, for just under thirteen years i did. it’s a very vintage looking village. with it’s thatched roofs and stone houses. i lived in one of those. ( click here to see the house aye it’s how i imagine it but just not as fancy oml ). my family struggled with finance when i was little so it’s all we had. but it was fine. i prefer to live in a small village because it had everything you needed and everyone knew each other. though perhaps that wasn’t the best things in terms of who had the gossip? when shit hits the fan somewhere, everyone knew about it within a day. because of the look to the village, a lot of movies and shows are filmed there. harry potter was, and little eleven year old me was an extra. no, you can’t see me. even if i was put in front of the camera in three different movies, i was no where to be seen. still got paid though, so ah well. i’m pretty sure downtown abbey was filmed there but i could be wrong. that was always cool but no one was ever allowed to leave their homes during filming. so, when i was just about to turn thirteen i moved to seattle. i moved after my parents divorced and my mum couldn’t really afford to have me around any more. and she knew my dad had money. s’why i didn’t talk to her for months straight after she made me move to america but i started again, don’t worry. though i never really got over the petty stage until i was about nineteen. pathetic, i know. you wouldn’t understand. turns out my dad had a lot more money than we thought. in the years he had disappeared he had apparently been trying to get into his career in law. he had already a degree in it, and why he didn’t start it before i’ll never understand. but anyways, he had a shit ton of money so at least then i could move into his house and not have to see him because it was so big you’d get lost. i truly don’t understand why you’d need such a big house. ( see house here ). it was like some fucking hotel. i hated it. after that, when i was nineteen i had to go to college so i moved to new york. i lived in a dorm for the four years i was there and just last year i moved into an apartment ( see apartment here ). my favorite memories? i definitely don’t think i have much from wiltshire. as for seattle, i guess meeting kylie and all those other people were great. at the time of course, none of them ended well. new york, i guess i enjoyed college. not my first year but the rest, i did. i’m yet to make favorite memories, perhaps. my father, before the divorce, worked in an office. for some company, i don’t know, i never asked. but he used to have to get the train into the city every morning before sun rise. and he always came home late. now, as you know, he’s a lawyer and is quite well known in that era. uh...my mum was the local librarian when i was growing up. as far as i’m concerned, she’s stopped that but still volunteers around there. now she’s working full time at a restaurant a few blocks away from the house. i have several siblings. none of them are full though. some are step-siblings by my father marrying another woman with kids. others are half siblings, by my father and this woman having kids. i never really got along with the ones around my age, the step-siblings. and i’ve only ever met one of the half-siblings. i think there’s like...three now? and i’ve only met the first. maybe one day i’ll go back but for now i’m not so sure. before coming onto rivalry island, i worked as a bartender. after season one, i went back into the bar and they said i was welcome to return at any time. i was a bartender all through my college days as well. yeah, i have the money to sit around all day and do nothing but i don’t want to. i happen to really enjoy working so i love going to the pub every night and serving up some cocktails and beers. i have some stories from there, i’ll tell you that. in school, i was that one really awkward kid that sat in the corner and just read all the time. you know that one kid that would cry a lot? that was me. but i had my reasons. the other kids were mean. probably because i was the smartest in that elementary class. yes, i attended university. i went to columbia in new york and majored in english literature. i absolutely loved it, i loved going to class and getting to study what i loved. it was great. i was actually accepted to yale when i was in high school but then they sent me another letter saying they could no longer allow me in since they don’t accept those with criminal records and i swear to god i cried for weeks.

when i was in high school, some guy offered to do my friends and i’s tattoos. i said no because i hated the idea of getting tattoos but all the guys kept calling me a pussy. they didn’t stop until i threatened them all but even then i felt as if i had some sort of point to prove? so i got my first tattoo done. and i hated it. i wanted it gone immediately. but it was like...after that i couldn’t stop? i kept getting them done and they made me more intimidating and cool. but if i could take it back, i would in a heartbeat, definitely. i hate having tattoos. i might looking into getting them all removed but apparently that’s like the worst thing ever. does that mean they pressured me? maybe, i don’t know. three positive traits....ooh, i’d say....maybe honest..nice and...chill? i’ve honestly no idea. three negative traits...naive, because i know i’m naive and i try not to be but i am and i can’t help it. fussy, for sure. i’m extremely fussy, like indecisive. and...paranoid, yes. paranoid. what are my strengths? i’ve no idea. does being able to analyse things like poems and such easily count as a strength? i’m not strong physically if that’s what you mean. seriously, i do not like working out. running i can do but working out...absolutely not. i do not have any upper or lower body strength so i could be beaten easily. and i bruise like a peach. i’m extremely fragile. what do you mean by weaknesses? like...things that get me weak to the knees attractive wise or things that put me down? i mean like...when someone bites their lip, that’s always weakening but if you mean it the other way then...probably if someone insults me in a....really offensive way....i guess. my greatest achievement? pfft, still being here. i’d love to learn like...karate or something. that’d be really cool, for sure. i can only imagine. the greatest compliment i’ve ever received? dear god. i’ve been told i’m gifted two times. once regarding my writing which i couldn’t be more grateful for because writing has always been a major passion of mine as some people know so being complimented there was incredible. uh...i was also once told apparently i can sing? i truthfully never thought i could. seriously, that person wasn’t even supposed to hear me, it was by accident but they said i was really good and i was all like...eh what? once extreme guilty pleasure of mine would be a huge bubble bath and a tall glass of red wine and a shit load of candles. i don’t like drinking but a single glass of wine never hurt anybody. some of my biggest pet peeves are when people interrupt me constantly, when i’m talking. uh...people who chew really loudly. people who swear a lot. people who are just overall extremely rude. i think i’ve said this before but my happy place will always be by the lake in my hometown. with the single bench and the ducks and all the flowers when it’s sunny out. i spent a lot of time there growing up so it means a lot to me. never do again? ooh...probably get with someone who you’ve been warned about several times, one of those times being by that particular person. one celebrity i’d love to be is....blake lively just so i could be married to ryan reynolds because damn.

you’re asking the wrong person about relationships. as most of you know, i don’t think i’ve ever had a good relationship. no, no i haven’t. uh...trusting one another is extremely important, feeling confident, strong and comfortable in the relationship is also a major need. being able to communicate with each other. not expecting things. being there for the other. appreciating the other. you know....all those good things. i’m not against anyone being in a polyamory relationship, because that’s totally cool. but i personally don’t think that kind of thing is for me. i get jealous really easily so if i were to have to sit there and see my girlfriend or boyfriend kiss someone else and tell someone else they love them i...i just couldn’t do it. i can’t imagine me doing it in all honesty. oh dear god, my first date was unbelievably awkward. okay. so it was with a girl, i was sixteen. i had no idea how to drive so i had to get my step-mum to drop us down to the movies. my hand was sweating like crazy so when i dropped her hand during the movie i saw her wipe it on her jeans so that was embarrassing. she didn’t talk much. and i’m really awkward enough as it is so imagine me trying to make conversation. i know, awful. so, we headed out to mcdonald’s afterwards because she said she hated fancy restaurants. and we literally ate in silence because every time i said something she just nodded. then, when she finally spoke, she asked if i was a psycho, how much allowance did i get in a week from my dad, and if my step-brother was single. it sucked ‘cause i liked her a lot but...mhm, i could’ve lived without her. the worst date i’d ever been on was when i was in my first year of college and this guy was like.....hey, can you help me with my english? and what not. he was like....two years above me? and i found that kind of hot so i agreed, obviously. he was extremely attractive, i’m telling you. so after a few study sessions he asked if i’d like to go out on a date with him and i of course said yes. we went out for dinner but it was no fun at all. he literally was so careless about the whole thing, eating his food messily, burping, downing his beer he’d gotten,  and was so extremely rude to the waiter. then, when we went for a walk, we coincidentally ended up at his place when he said we were just gonna walk to the park and around for a bit. he invited me up, i agreed, then he started smoking weed next to me, blowing it in my face and when i told him to stop he said it was hot and kept asking me to sleep with him. so i just left before it got any worse, and ignored all his texts from then on. he was one of those typical college jocks or whatever so, i wasn’t interested anymore. i would not consider myself vanilla in bed, no. or at least...i don’t think so? i mean, i know what i like and such but i’ve never actually done them. you know? like...every time i’ve ever had sex, i just did military and got it over with. the last time i did anything was with....as you all know, it was with ian that night in the cabin. but even that was just military since it was our first time. uh...with all my exes, it’s been the same. so...obviously i’d like to try new things. i’d be shy about it, i just know it. but i’d love to.....if that’s not weird for me to say? i guess @fckericprescott​ was right when he said i was innocent or pure or whatever. because in reality i’ve never done anything interesting or scandalous. other than the time i did it behind the counter at my job at the bar. but...does that count? the place was closed, there was no one there other than us. uh...as some of you know, i have said my kinks before. when i’m with a girl i can get quite dominant where as with a guy it’s the total opposite, being submissive is probably my favorite thing, to be honest. um...i’d love to get really rough. doing it in front of a mirror or something, is hot. i’ve always wanted to do it somewhere where...i don’t know, you could get caught or someone could be watching you? like a balcony or something, i think that’d be a huge turn on. something i do that only one person has ever commented on is that i’m like...really loud. like i can’t help it, but apparently i moan a lot and really loudly so...one guy said it was adorable but other than that, no one has said anything but i’m kind of embarrassed about it because what if they find it weird or something? i’m pretty sure i’ve said this story before but my worst sex experience was by far the time when my boyfriend...ex boyfriend...and i were going at it and he just stopped and was like ‘by the way, i’m cheating on you’....yeah, sucked.

how i heard about rivalry island...well, i was going to see a close friend of mine and the advert for it came on the radio. a couple days later that friend brought it up and recommended i go for it. i thought he was joking but when i went to see him again he’d actually looked up all the details and forced down me to get an application together. i hated the idea of first but he’s always been good at persuading people with what makes them vulnerable. asshole. i think my application may of stood out because....i’ve no idea really. everything was scripted really fancy but they weren’t entirely....creative? or good enough. i don’t know. the guy that told me to go for the show said it’s probably because of my looks but i don’t see why that’d be such a big thing. as everyone knows, my best friend in here is the lovely @oliviahenley​. she’s absolutely incredible and i’d probably would’ve gone insane already if she weren’t around. i’m also getting along much better with @fckericprescott​, a lot better than i was last year. he’s great too. and unlike last year also, @ncvasmythex​ and i have been getting along extremely well which i’m really happy about since she’s truly a lovely girl and i enjoy her company. someone on the show i’d like to know better would probably be.... @oflilawarren​. judging on how much i’ve talked to her already, she seems incredibly sweet and of course  i’d love to get to know her better. @paxtonwilliams​ seems really cool as well, and @grayson-walsh​ because i’m pretty sure i’ve never talked to him before. nearly everyone i didn’t get along with before are no longer on the show so at the moment the only person i’m avoiding is @tfscbastian​ because he’s really rude and scary and cruel and i don’t want anything to do with him, ever. i genuinely don’t understand why he feels the need to act how he does. sometimes when i talk to him i feel like some sort of teacher having to scold their student with their behavior. and then it goes horribly wrong and he’s got me cornered. in the beginning of the show i was worried a lot about how i looked for the cameras but at this point i feel like it’s totally fine and i barely notice it. unless there’s an actually cameraman there, i rarely realize we’re on a show and there’s cameras everywhere. i think some of the major perks of being on the show is getting to spend a lot of time in the nice weather with loads of these incredible different personalities and making new friends and such. it’s a lot of fun and it’s interesting and i love it, really. last season i regretted signing up. there were a lot of times that i would lay around in my room and wonder how i was going to tell everyone i was leaving. when i got into a fight and had my head smashed onto a counter, that was humiliating and i remember at the hospital, almost in tears, begging to leave. it got better after that when i started getting closer with...you know, ian. but then after the season ended, i wished i’d never met ian. and that would mean i would’ve never signed up for the show. so i regretted it then. but now it’s a lot better than before. when i leave, i did watch the show back but fast forwarded when it came to scenes with me in it. i just wanted to see what everyone else was saying when i wasn’t around. if anything happened that i didn’t know of. it was definitely very interesting.

something i’d like the viewers to understand is that....ooh, i don’t know. that i’m naturally a very impulsive person, and i’ve been told i’m quite naive so if i do anything that bothers you that people would perhaps consider idiotic then i sincerely apologize and it’s not my fault....yeah, that makes sense? do i have any comments? oh, thank you for being so kind to me when i left the house after season one. i requested that in my last interview and my wish was granted. as you all must know, i’m quite fragile and i bruise way too easily so thank you very very much for that. i would most certainly recommend rivalry island to others, it’s a lot of fun and definitely quite the experience. i’m sure you’ll enjoy it as long as you’re comfortable with the cameras and putting yourself out there.  i would absolutely love a rivalry holiday but maybe not somewhere as cold as the last time. don’t get me wrong, it was an incredible trip but i couldn’t step out onto the porch without freezing completely. no offence,”
