#honestly I blame the WEBTOON

What’s your current thoughts on what we’ve seen of Eleanor’s Deathbed?
IDK, there isn't enough of it so far to even make any sort of judgment, and whatever judgments I do have to make are largely rooted in Rachel's past work because... well, because we've seen this project at least twice before in the past already.
Like so far the only strong opinion I can make about it is "same shit different day". It's kind of like a fusion of Lore Olympus and The Doctor Foxglove Show, because evidently she's only been able to write and draw the same character dynamic and romance plotline for the past decade. All we've seen is the art and it's honestly fine, I think at the very least it's a great sign that the corporate Webtoons burnout is finally starting to lift and she's creating art that doesn't look like that anymore. I can at least acknowledge that as a refreshing improvement.
That said, it's still a far cry away from the stuff she used to create back in the day (in the Foxglove era) and above all else, the art at this point doesn't really matter to me, it's her writing that's always been her weakest skill and evidently one that hasn't improved at all over the years, both on account of her apparent refusal to learn but also what seems to be an incredibly limited perspective that's influenced the severely problematic undertones of her work and its messaging.
The reason these issues were so apparent in LO was because it was the first time she ever had to complete a story (and also the fact that she and WT's alike marketed LO as something it wasn't - a "feminist retelling" that was trying to "help people"). It's why LO was so enjoyable for many of us in the beginning, just for it to fall apart by the end of S2 which made us even more aware of the cracks that were always there from the very first episode, we just didn't notice them or were more forgiving of them because the story was still "setting up" and Rachel clearly "had something planned". That feeling of betrayal and frustration that's shared among everyone within the antiLO community largely started with the creeping and eventually explosive realization that Rachel did not in fact have anything planned to resolve all the questions and loose ends she had created, she was writing by the seat of her pants the whole time and she had finally flat on her face... but with the added arrogance of blaming the "haters" for pulling the seat out from under her.
Credit where credit's due, she's always been pretty good at coming up with fascinating premises and concepts, both of which are present in her pre-LO stories like The Doctor Foxglove Show and Woman King. But they never lasted long enough for us to see how they would have played out from start to finish, and so all we have to judge them by are their foundations, not the completed house.
We were able to judge LO by those metrics, though, and the way it turned out in the end proved that having a good idea doesn't automatically make for good writing.
Maybe Eleanor's Deathbed will improve upon those problems, but considering most of what I've seen so far of the 'writing' through her mini comics, eh, just looks like it's gonna be more of the same "uwu cinnamon bun girl who's casually racist / classist" x "creepy death man who's competitively racist / classist" shtick. And at the end of the day, when so many of her writing issues are rooted in - as mentioned above - her limited perspective of real world problems and over-inflated ego, I have zero reason to believe that ED isn't just gonna be LO with a new coat of paint, with all the same amateur writing, poorly developed characters, self-indulgent soapboxing, poorly disguised trauma dumping, and problematic messaging disguised as "feminism".

When I said a while back that I wasn't interested in following Rachel's work post-LO, I meant it. At the end of the day, what made me fall in love with LO originally was LO, not Rachel herself. My interest in her work died with LO, only extending to the stuff she did before as a sort of morbid fascination with where it might have all gone wrong. And I think the simplest - and most disappointing - conclusion I've ever come to is, "Rachel has always been like this, the downfall of LO just made us look."
The characters, art style, etc. of ED so far are just not compelling to me in the way LO once was, they're not even compelling to me in the way that Foxglove was in hindsight once I knew of its existence (because at least looking back at those pieces, all I could do is wonder how the beauty of those pieces was lost).
If I do ever read ED in the future - assuming it ever even materializes beyond her social media doodles - I want it to be because I'm genuinely interested in her future work, not because I entitle myself to haunting her like a ghost. I'm already surely haunting her enough as it is by not letting her live down LO, but at least I actually liked LO at one point (and still kinda do, if you count my love-hate relationship with it LMAO). I'm not at all interested in Eleanor's Deathbed on account of what I've already experienced of Rachel's work through LO (and through our deep-diving of her pre-LO career) and because, like I said, what I've seen so far is just not really all that compelling. So I just really don't have any reason to invest my time or care into it.
She, like anyone else, has the right to try and move forward from the tire fire that was LO, even if that tire fire is still worth pointing out and discussing in many ways. Maybe Eleanor's Deathbed will succeed upon LO in ways that it failed. Maybe it won't. I'm not compelled to follow along and find out. I'd rather just cut my losses.
Plus if I really want this woman to fade into obscurity the way I think she deserves, well, the only thing I can reliably do to manifest that reality is to not pay her future work any attention whatsoever LMAO Such an individual effort doesn't mean she'll just suddenly disappear, she's clearly got a support network now through Inklore and Webtoons to keep force-feeding her relevance down people's throats, but hey, we all have our own gardens, and I don't have to keep planting her in mine. The carnation that was LO still thrives on, and I care for it through Rekindled and the odd analysis post / rant about LO whenever I happen to think of something new worth discussing. But whatever Eleanor's Deathbed is or will become, it's just not something I want in my garden.

The Big Bang Continuum EP 2: The Coefficient of Chaos in Child-Rearing
Sheldon faces a parenting dilemma when Leonard’s hockey game clashes with Laura's newfound passion for acting, a hobby he blames on Penny. As the gang gathers at the ice rink, Sheldon tries to maintain his scientific approach, but family dynamics quickly challenge his methods.
hi guys, this is ep2 of the tbbt webtoon! had to split what was originally ep2 into two separate episodes because of the upload limit. the next chapter will be the last one, and it'll probably take a while too since i haven’t even started it yet hahaha. hope you guys enjoy this one as much as i enjoyed making it, and i’d love to hear what you think! you can check it out here: Read The Big Bang Continuum :: The Coefficient of Chaos in Child-Rearing (Part 1) | Tapas Community Read The Big Bang Continuum :: The Coefficient of Chaos in Child-Rearing (Part 2) | Tapas Community
leonard cooper’s jersey number was supposed to be #12, but i messed up in ep1 and didn’t notice the typo until later. decided to roll with #14 instead to match his age, figured it worked out in the end.
apparently, “silver fox” means an attractive older man, which i had no idea about hhahaha. i was just throwing around team names with foxes, monkeys, and koalas. too late to change it now since the jerseys and logos are already done, and honestly, i’m too lazy to redo it t_t.
i don’t have a background in hockey or webtoons, so i pulled a lot of inspiration from dogshred (https://www.manhwatoon.com/manga/dogsred/) after seeing it recommended on reddit. mostly used it to figure out how to panel the game flow and sfx. no idea if what i did is accurate, i just went with what felt right, lol. if you’re into hockey manga, i’d say check it out, though i haven’t finished reading it yet.
for the gameplay, leonard cooper was loosely inspired by connor bedard (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxFUWS5MBOc&list=WL&index=3&pp=gAQBiAQB), but the script’s game play is a mix of:
Little Caesars VS #2 Chicago Mission 15s | Game Highlights 2019 MAHA Bantam Major State Championship - HoneyBaked vs Little Caesars Bauer Bantam Elite Invite Finals - West Van vs Delta - Extended Game HighlightsAAA Bantam Day 3 Championship (Full game, no commentary)
asked a coworker for advice on the game and terminology, but yeah i don’t really know hockey hahaha used a ton of references while drawing the scenes.
also cut a lot of scenes from the original script since it felt like it was dragging the pace haha big thanks to angel @girlnamedangel for beta reading and giving super helpful feedback!
if you notice any differences in details, it’s probably because i drew some stuff from memory while at work lol. let me know if you spot any typos or mistakes so i can avoid them next time hahaha.

The Remarried Empress
Honest review + critic

Who hasn’t heard of the ever-growing genre within Webtoons featuring semi-historical stories with a boss-babe female lead who, against all odds, finds true love with the male lead and gets revenge on those who oppose her?
It’s a power fantasy that hits just right because, as a society, we love revenge and justice for people who have been done absolutely dirty.
But what happens when a power fantasy dips its toes into one of the oldest forms of discrimination? Will the audience question their noble-born female lead, or will they blame the commoners who oppose her and fight back against the caste system?
Well, The Remarried Empress has the answer: just blame the poor people! How dare they not be born with a silver spoon in their mouth? God forbid these peasants want equal rights!
I would argue this story isn’t just bad because of its repetitive plot and cliché storyline, but it also actively reinforces classist and sexist ideology, especially surrounding one of the major antagonists, Rashta.
For god’s sake, Rashta was a slave—a woman without education, without anything to back her up. She had no one to lean on. The only cards she could play were her looks and her body, so of course, she would use the two things she had to get out of literal slavery. Tell me you wouldn’t do the same if you were in her position.
The female lead, Navier—don’t even get me started on her and her fans. She’s an empress, she’s rich. Even without marrying a man, she was the daughter of a literal duke. She grew up with an education, had friends to lean on. The worst thing that happened to her was that her husband got into a poor woman’s pants.
For the first few chapters I read, it felt like Navier had a bigger issue with the fact that Rashta was a runaway slave rather than the actual “homewrecking” she did.
The story goes out of its way to state that mistresses were common practice in the setting. Navier even knows the etiquette surrounding it. But the term homewrecker still gets flung around in the fandom to justify their strong distaste for Rashta.
Now, I want to preface this: it’s completely okay to dislike a character—sometimes, you just don’t vibe with them. However, there’s a difference between disliking a character just because you don’t like them and disliking a character while using excuses to disguise prejudice.
Not liking Rashta because she is annoying is fair. Not liking Rashta while literally perpetuating the same classist rhetoric spewed by the characters in the story is dumb and shows a lack of critical thinking.
Y’all 👏🏻 don’t 👏🏻 hate 👏🏻 her 👏🏻 for 👏🏻 being 👏🏻 a 👏🏻 homewrecker. 👏🏻
The characters within the story didn’t actually hate her for that either. They hated her because she was poor, because she was a runaway slave, because she didn’t fit into high society.
The way the author wrote this entire thing makes it feel like they themselves hate minorities because, instead of calling it what it is, they contribute to making excuses for the “good” noble-born characters.
A big concern of mine has been the growing trend within the storytelling community of demonizing the oppressed while the privileged get their asses kissed by both the author and the fanbase. This isn’t just a problem in this story—I’ve seen it in so many others that it’s honestly jarring.
Navier isn’t the perfect, morally good person the story tries to convince you she is. She is fully aware that the people in her empire are suffering from poverty and human trafficking, yet she does absolutely nothing to help them. She’s not an empowering feminist character, and the story certainly isn’t either.
Sigh, another story with great potential wasted because the author is too scared to step outside the cookie-cutter genre and write something that actually provokes thought in the reader. Not the first time I’ve been disappointed.

Here's a few random HC that I’ve thought of, some of which were inspired by some of your fics:
1) Not all of the bat kids native language is English. Damian's native language and Arabic while Dicks is Romanian, and so on. If tickled enough, they switch from English to their native language. Bruce, the man who knows multiple languages, will also switch to their respective language. More than once, Damian and Dick have called Bruce dad in their native language (Bruce sees it as an honor and it melts his heart every time he hears it)
2) More than once, Bruce has turned a post-patrol injury check into a tickle attack, especially if said bat kid did something reckless or stupid on patrol. After making sure the children aren’t truly injured, he will tickle them and pretend that it is all part of the injury check.
3) We have good parent Bruce, but don’t forget about good parent/grandfather Alfred. Alfred loves son and grandchildren. He’s very proper and British, but he is known to provide pokes and scribbles to make a point. The kids or Bruce do something reckless on patrol? A couple prods and scribbles to the ribs during an injury check to make sure nothing is injured. Did one of the residents curse? A poke to the side. Alfred loves his son and grandchildren, but he has an image to maintain.
4) In Dicks early Robin days, Bruce and Dick had an encounter with Poison Ivy where Dick ends briefly gets tickled by a plant (this is based on episode 74 of the Wayne Family Adventure webtoon). After this, Bruce expanded training to include blocking out sensations, including ticklishness. This training is typically done teaching the bat kids methods to block out tickling or hide it, and he helps his kids practice the skill by tickling them. For him, this is a win-win situation. He has another excuse to tickle his children and he teaches them a valuable skill. (No matter how much training they do though, Bruce is always able to get them to break and start laughing. He is their dad and knows how to take them apart).

HEADCANONS FROM TURTLE THANK YOU TURTLE!
1) I LOVE the language switching trope in tickle fics it's so cute sdjkfsdhf and all the Bats speak so many languages that it's not even a hindrance, they can just switch with them. And the kids calling Bruce dad in their native language while being tickled 😭😭Turtle youre gonna make me Cry lol
2) YES YES YES i LOVE the injury-check-turned-tickle-attack bit. You did something stupid and reckless, let me make sure youre safe. Okay, youre safe and unharmed -- now let's make it clear why you should Never do that again. But yes of course i agree, he 100% pretends its still part of the injury check, no matter how much the batkids Know its not sdjfhdf
3) YEAH I honestly find it so hard to work Alfred into a tickle fic because i LOVE good father/grandfather Alfred (or, at least an Alfred who did the very best he could/can while also trying to balance his position and propriety, and everyone knows that and loves him for it) but i am still trying to figure out where i would find that balance Between grandfather-Alfred and butler-Alfred lol. He ABSOLUTELY also uses injury checks as an excuse for this though. Plus, Alfred is sneaky and all-knowing, he could totally pull a quick tickle and no one would know it was him, they'd blame a sibling or smth lol
4) I THINK ABOUT THAT MOMENT IN WFA ALL THE TIME ksjdfhjksfhd it was so freaking cute like omg. It often makes me go "what if Ivy had like, tickle pollen. Or if i jumped on the cuddle-pollen bandwagon and somehow worked tickling into there. I need some kind of pollen" (i love cuddle pollen fics though -- someday i will write a tickle fic with cuddle pollen i swear, i just dont have any fully formed ideas for one yet lol) BUT YES -- Bruce is trained to block out sensation, which includes tickling, but clearly he made an oversight with skipping it for Robin. Guess it's time for some more training! And they'll do it as many times as it takes to make it stick :) (and yes i agree -- Bruce holds all the secrets and even with this training he puts them through, Bruce still can break them near-instantly and uses that to endlessly tease them. mayhaps even threatens more sensation-blocking training, if theyre so bad at holding in those ticklish reactions still, hm?)
THANK YOU TURTLE this are so so cute omg thank you for sharing

Why do some people keep saying that everything that happened in this episode is Seungwon's fault?

Can you blame a teenage boy for being scared about coming out and express his feelings? I don't think so. Even if Chanyoung and Jiyu are dating now, she can't force him to confess. Seungwon is her best friend, why can't she understand that is something very importante to him? I know she's been helping him to getting close to Heesu, but yet, that's not something she can decide.
Everybody has the right to come out in their own terms when they feel safe and can faced this new stage of their lives. Seungwon asked her to pretend to be his crush BEFORE she starts dating Chanyoung. If someone has to apologize is not Seungwon. Jiyu doesn't care about others, so why is so hard to keep pretending and help his friend? A little bit more, Jiyu, why not? I didn't like Jiyu sometimes, but this actually make my feel really annoyed.
This plot makes Seungwon looks like a villain. I hate how people is seeing Seungwon under a bad light because "he doesn't care about his friend and must confess already" blah blah. Again, Chanyoung and Jiyu acting as if all this is about them, please. Chanyoung was so eager to win and keep Seungwon away that he has to said that, uh? What a jerk.
They had no right to push Seungwon to do things he's not ready to. In webtoon Jiyu didn't force him to confess, she's always happy to help him and she's a good friend. I do like some things about this live action, but Chanyoung and Jiyu aren't some of them, honestly. They're completly different characters of their original version. They're so selfish and self-absorbed.
In webtoon, Seungwon decided to confess to "the person he likes" all by himself, nobody forced him to. Let him be, please. That's something only belongs to him, no one else. He take Heesu to a date and by night he was ready to say it just for Heesu to confess first.
Seungwon didn't do anything wrong, people. Chanyoung and Jiyu are forcing him to because they invented that romantic plot for them that actually makes Seungwon and Heesu look like bad people into some viewers's eyes.
This is so k-drama in disguise that actually makes me mad. Let my Seungwon boy alone, he's scared and nervous and didn't mean any harm. It's not his fault her friend found a boyfriend when she's suppose to help him, you know? They were so mean to him for no reason and only Heesu cares for him.
Nobody's gonna make me love Chanyoung and Jiyu series version, they're so selfish. My queen Jiyu in webtoon was amazing, they made her dirty. Chanyoung was a better friend too, here's so self-centered that I actually hate him.
So, that's the way it has to be. Heesu must confess first. That's what I'm asking for, Heesu telling Seungwon first in this important moment. They deserve their beautiful love story after all this mess.

This is just my opinion on Bam and his character, but there is a little pinch of spoilers for season 2 during the workshop battle, so beware!
I know Bam tends to be a little bland sometimes, but honestly, that's only because he never gets enough time to really explore the world and figure out who he is and what he truly wants (aside from keeping his loved ones safe). He is constantly being thrust into situations (like the current arc for example) that he didn't really want to be in to begin with. Perhaps this choice was intentional by SIU, or maybe Bam will slowly become his own person over the course of the story.
We did get a glimpse of Bam and his thoughts during the hell train, and his feelings about the current situation and such, but we haven't really had anymore of that and it makes me sad.
I honestly hope that eventually, Bam will have the focus shifted onto him and only him for a while, and we get the chance to really explore Bam and learn more about him instead of the main plot.
I'm not shitting on tog when I say this, I absolutely love the story and all of the characters and the badass lore that surrounds it, but in my opinion, I feel like some things could have been a little different? Like, for example, the hell train arc. Khun mentioned going on a vacation after the workshop battle, but they never did because they had to leave shortly after if they wanted to catch up with Rachel in time if they wanted to save Horyang. Instead, I feel like SIU could have used this time to focus on Bam for a bit and develop his character a little more, maybe even taking a break like Khun had suggested (and ofc leaving Horyang alive so that there was never any immediate need to chase after Rachel), and then getting into the hell train arc? Idk, the story feels rushed at times so that we can reach the big plot points quicker, but I don't blame SIU for this either. I mean, how could one possibly have enough time to really sit and think about the choices they're about to make in their story whenever they have such a strict updating schedule? I could never, I would be a failure webtoon artist/story writer lmao. I applaud and respect the people who have the patience for it 😭
What do you think could have been different in the story? I'm interested to hear your thoughts!

I've got stronger feelings about Jiho. I really do.
I feel for every character lile Daniel, who faces his bullying and becomes a great person, we need to keep on mind there are often people who turn out like Jiho.
I understand that he's an extreme case, but it sheds light on a very real thing: bullying and the mindset that comes with it.
Daniel's mindset was to become strong. He was always a reliable person, before he ever got his new body. (Except to his mother, but I feel he way more than makes up for it later in the story)
But Jiho

Jiho was desperate. He tried everything he thought he could (albeit all awful choices) and still continued to sprial.
But it was always everyone else's fault.
He blamed everyone around him for his actions, and was never able to see Daniel ad a friend.
I'm still unclear why he was killed off? He was such a great character. Probably my fourth favorite in the entire webtoon.
Honestly, I could go on and on about this character, but I'll stop here so im not ranting.
In a world full of bullies, be a Daniel, not a Jiho.
Self reflect. Apologize to your friends when your bad to them, instead of using them. Him and Daniel could have been beasties, but he was unable to see Daniel for who he was.
Sorry for the rant. I just got reintroduce to this character again, and forgot how strongly I feel about him.
I love him in thw way most people have a favorite Villan. Maybe it's because when I was bullied, for a while I was just a trash person.
Not saying the bullying was my fault, or I deserved it. But u could have been kinder to those who actually cared about me, and I stead saw everyone as an enemy and pushed them away. Thankfully I've grown as a person and cherish my friends now. But it was hard when I viewed everyone as a possible threat.
Thanks for listening

THIS IS SO IMPORTANT GUYS!
First and foremost, I have two confessions. One, I haven't read Red Hood: Outlaws WebToon. It's on my list, but I will admit that I'm missing context. Two, though I talk about disability, my main focus is physical walking disabilities. This commentary should apply to every physically disabled human being if I'm doing this correctly, but I chose to have a specific focus for the sake of brevity.
I'd have very few nickles if I could have one for every time I saw a wheelchair-dependent character get suddenly healed. But it's still too many nickels. I can't blame Marvel or DC for my poor relationship with my own mobility aids. It didn't help anything to see Barbara Gordon or Charles Xavier suddenly be able to walk after seeing them for so long in their wheelchairs. Recovery and recuperation should never be scoffed at. We should celebrate when we can accomplish difficult goals and be happy for others who achieve what they thought was impossible. But these characters' changes aren't about recuperation. They're about ignorance.
Recuperation doesn't always mean full recovery from the viewpoint of a disabled person. Sometimes, "walking quickly" or "standing independently" isn't the end goal. It's usually more complicated than that. Small things like strengthening the core or practicing distance walking in a walker are crucial for someone's health or mobility. If it means they can walk independently in the process, then cheers! But sometimes standing isn't a possibility anymore. Many able-bodied people, without this context, may perceive this attitude as "giving up." I've had to explain to several different people that my choosing my wheelchair over my crutches to be a more functional human is not the same thing as quitting. But society has a model for success, and that model has a healthy set of legs.
Growing up, it broke my heart when I saw a character who had to experience a permanent and life-altering disability being suddenly cured. That's not a story of recuperation. That's a writer trying to "fix" something that was "wrong". I don't think the writers mean that as an insult. It's a terrible trope that's rooted in ignorance. But that ignorance is commonplace. It makes self-acceptance all the more difficult for a person who doesn't have full use of their body. Instead of being a person in a room who happens to use a wheelchair, that person suddenly becomes a paria because they are "physically incorrect."
Barbara Gordon, still paralyzed, marrying Dick Grayson is important. In their most standard form, weddings are supposed to be beautiful and romantic. Most of us dream about being the most beautiful, best versions of ourselves that we've ever been for one of the most special days of our lives. Barbara was the best version of herself when her father wheeled her down the aisle. She was Batgirl and is now Oracle, but she never stopped being Barbara. She is loved by her father, her adopted family, and her husband. The saccharine nature of that scene had nothing to do with a disabled woman being loved by an able-bodied man. It was a sappy, beautiful wedding being celebrated by our favorite dysfunctional found family.
I'm honestly really excited to read this webtoon. It is about Jason Todd, but the care and respect Patrick R. Young shows in this scene and how well it was depicted by Nico Bascuñán says a lot about how they handle the rest of whatever story they tell in this comic.

Idk if my addition will matter.
I've been following Hanza since back when they were making my deepest secret, so I've seen the development of the guy upstairs first hand and how hanza writes it. Even back in the concept stages, it was so blatantly clear that it was supposed to be a thriller/cat mouse vibe where Adam (killer) was horrible and not to be rooted for. They've compared him to irl serial killers and how those guys will often use women as shields to hide their true selves from the public and how that's messed up and bad to do.
They've shown Adam as a horrible irredeemable person and honestly there's little to no nuance with how they handle it, but that makes sense because how else can you handle an audience like what they've gotten without beating them over the head with the facts. How many ways can you outright show your main character despising and wanting to yank their best friend out of the jaws of a murderer before the audience realizes its not foreplay.
I think them going from an actual romance to a fully thriller non romantic story meant that the residual audience expected some kind of messy toxic romance, but Rozy to me has always explicitly read as Queer so idk why people aren't getting the hint.
I get their frustration and it seems like they might be shifting into a potiential issekai romance about a grandad and a middle aged woman who got reincarnated as his grandson's fiance (hard to explain but its hilarious if you want to check it out) without any thriller elements from their recent non comic posts. Whatever they do I hope they can find something to be passionate about again.
your addition VERY MUCH MATTERS actually because I don't read TGU and have very little context to the situation as a whole aside from what I've seen people talking about, which makes me reluctant to speak on it because I don't wanna go spreading misinformation in any regard. So I appreciate you taking the time to lay it all out for me, thank you!!! <3
And yeah, I've seen posts shared in the /r/webtoons sub from other blogs claiming that Hanza was being an awful person for "taking people's money" and "baiting them" into reading a dark romance story when that's very obviously not what it is? Even one excerpt that was literally like-
And I just... since when is any romance plotline that ISN'T abusive and problematic at its core (such as between a serial killer and a victim) considered "super conservative" and "pure"? It's really baffling to me how people have gone so far in the opposite direction of "purity culture" that they've started arguing on behalf of legitimately harmful and toxic relationships. It's extremely concerning especially when you know the majority of people saying this shit are between the ages of 16-21. IDK what the fuck we're doing anymore when it comes to the romance genre (and TGU isn't even a romance ffs).
Aaaand yeah in relation to where the Hanza topic came up, that's really why I'm moving away from WT as an audience and why I don't consider it a "loss" to not use WT anymore. Once upon a time I wished for Time Gate to be a contracted series, for it to have thousands of readers and be my job. But seeing what's going on with Hanza's work just informs me that I'd be dealing with a lot of the same shit - people expecting Uzuki and Mitsuhiro to be the endgame of the romance when they're literally NOT good for each other, which is the POINT. Like sure, unlike the main duo in TGU, they actually are a couple with a 'relationship' but it's not meant to be healthy and the last thing I need are 15 year olds thinking they're "couple goals". If you ship them in fanfic or w/e the fuck that's fine but please don't get mad at me when they don't wind up being the endgame couple, they're both terrible people and make each other worse when they're around each other (・_・;)
Either way yeah, I don't blame Hanza in the slightest for getting so frustrated with it all that they'd rather just be done with it. It sucks for the more loyal and sane part of their audience that the series is gonna be ripped out from under them like that, but at the end of the day if the creator is being harassed and decide they're done as a result of it... why should they have to keep putting up with bullshit just for a comic? I don't even blame Rachel if she was ending LO by choice due to the noise of the fandom, and unlike Rachel, I don't have anything in the slightest against Hanza or their work LOL But I also don't have the full picture on it all so maybe my opinion will change if I find out more about it. I just don't think any of this shit is worth directly harassing a human being over.
That said, can't get any better than someone who's read their work since before TGU, so again, thank you !

WARNING: OPINIONS BELOW
not to bring up old amd major fandom discourse but...
okay so watching the atla live action drove me back into my 2010 zutara era, and reading all that zutara fanfic made me think of klance (the other blue/red ship we should have had) so i was reading klance fic which made me realize i forgot most of the show and made me want to rewatch the show and im about to finish season 2 again and guys??? omg????
ok i was a klance girly thru and thru like everyone else but in the early seasons like 1 and 2 (and i realize what i'm about to say is blasphemous but bear with me) allura and keith had HELLA chemistry. like they had bonding moments and had like...a lot of deep talks and skinship (like the ep where they thought they were being tracked by zarkon, or the ep where allura gets over some of her galra hatred for keith's sake, etc etc) and were honestly more compelling than allura and lance or allura and shiro. maybe it's because i'm no longer a child/i'm looking at it through a more critical lens but the dynamics are totally different than what i remember in the early seasons.
OBVIOUSLY IT'S MEANT PLATONICALLY IN THE SHOW but the chemistry is real platonically or romantically. and for fandom that ships anything with a pulse, this ship really should have been more popular.
i think ppl were just so obsessed with wanting gay characters or characters with specific sexualities that they glossed over characters that had real chemistry. and only sticking to the skinny characters was whack. lance had hella chemistry with hunk and but i think y'all are too fatphobic to properly appreciate him. i blame the show for making hunk the least fleshed out of the main characters. hunk is more than comic relief!
also? y'all butchered my boy keith in fanon. he's got way more personality in the real show than in fanon, which like i understand that usually fanon characters have less personality but the difference is wild. canon keith is not nearly as withdrawn or moody as he is in fanon, he's just kind of a grumpy guy who knows what he wants and is incredibly determined to get it. he's not as emo or depressed (or repressed) as fanon makes him either
for the record, i'm still klance for LIFE but omg have a little fun sometimes. bi keith supremacy.
also, unrelated and completely off-topic sidenote, stop writing spanish into your fics if you can't speak it. i can't speak it even i can tell yall on some gringo shit. use italics or <brackets> like they do in comic books and webtoons. way less cringe.
#tell me how blasphemous is this post scale from 1-10#klance#voltron#voltron legendary defender#i'm telling you we deserved one (1) kiss involving keith#could've been allura or lance idc#ALSO I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT IF YOU HATE ZUTARA OR KLANCE#IDGAF#FANDOM IS MEANT FOR FUN AND I LIKE MY PURPLE PAIRINGS#oh the yinyang of it all#anyways i still wont watch season 8#no siree i value myself

Last one for now. What's your 3rd favorite sbg character and why? You're not allowed to compare how much you like them with how much you like other characters (such as their rank, or even if you like them more or less) in the explanation
You bastard you gave me conditions for this I'll try but sorry if I bend the rules a little. I'm going to try to handle this as a pros and cons rather than a numbered list.
I'd say Tyler is my third favorite.
Pros: I do enjoy that he is the "protector" and it's gotten him hurt really bad at one point for him to have to take a step down and realize that he has to also let other people take care of him too. That trope always made me think "ahh yes a baybeee" for characters. His idea that he has to take on a parental role only to realize he is a kid is something that I always felt akin to? (I took care of my brother and mom for a while so...Tylercore ig) I do enjoy that he is a sarcastic bastard sometimes! The humor makes him well rounded and I know that he is "Just A Kid" so watching him be a little silly sometimes is reason that I always look for him in the background too. Little guy (he's so much taller than me) has a lot to learn and it's like a little brother that you can't wait to watch him get his heart broken for the first time, smile the biggest smile youve ever seen at graduation, and finally get a taste of adult freedom when he gets his license after painfully teaching and getting frustrated. Cons: Though, I sometimes roll my eyes and smack the wrinkles off my forehead a little bit when he decides that instead of working together as a team, he just immediately goes into pointing fingers, trying to find someone to blame. The anger and wanting answers for a situation where its very obvious that no one has answers is the most frustrating part about him. I jsut wanna grab his shoulders and scream "CALM DOWN PLEASE JUST LISTEN BEFORE YOU GAIN STRONG OPINIONS" soo bad but unfor he is but a comic character. I did respond to a post earlier that I really wish he would play to his own strengths (use a baseball bat as a weapon instead of almost immediately getting a gun) and planning for the worst with all the other characters in his mind. As someone who tends to protect the other people in their life, I'm always constantly thinking of the worst case scenarios and it makes me come back and basically wrap everything in bubblewrap so no one else gets hurt. I'm constantly checking the ground for glass and I wish that Tyler would do that too instead of being such a "I'm shrugging my shoulders cause I dont care about you but if you get hurt I'm going to tell you how useless you are" LIKE???? BROTHER???? HELP THEM THEN! <- which makes me say "uuughhh SHUT UP!!" sometimes soooo idk
I'll leave it at that for now but I can honestly do this for each character if I had the time to (plus no one would actually read it so eh)
(Also this is absolutely not dogging on Red's writing whatsoever. I love how rounded a lot of her characters are, even the side ones, they feel more human than some of the other webtoons I've read. They're flawed!! I like that about all of them. In the end, they're just teenagers. They're gonna suck! You're gonna like parts of them! They're teenagers in a really really shitty and unfortunate situation. They are constantly being lied to and gaslit into what is true and what isn't. They are literally fighting for their life ALL. THE. TIME. Give them - and Red - a break! PLEASE! )

Agree that shippers of kronos and hera are freaking disgusting, though im a little hesitant to lay the blame on rs. When i first read it, i recognized it for being awful and insidious abuse and thought it was framed surprisingly well. Webtoon readers are known for being shit balls at reading and media comprehension, so many other webtoons i read suffer from readers being way too obtuse and rooting for genuinely abusive characters that the creator always frames as toxic. (tho full disclosure i haven't read the fast pass episodes so this might have changed!!) while i also do wish rs might make it clearer that its abuse so these commentors would shut up, at the same time i think its sad creators would need to sacrifice more sublte, clever storytelling just so that certain sections of the fandom won't misunderstand.
I understand your point, the main reason why I included Rachel in that rant is because if she can make an authors note about Persephone not dying, she should be able to come out with at least a statement saying that you shouldn’t ship Hera with Kronos at all because half of those people are grown adults, they should absolutely know better.
Rachel never holds her fans accountable when they’re saying fucked up things in Rachel and Lore Olympus’ defense and she’s known for being active in various groups including Lore Olympus so she should have no problem making an announcement condemning stuff like that. The problem isn’t that her subtle writing wasn’t clear enough for her fans the problem is you have over 45 comments on your main page talking about how Hera’s SA wasn’t SA and victim blaming her for the trauma Kronos gave her and you’re not saying anything about it.
It’s even worse since like I’ve said there’s a lot of fans who relate to both Hera and Persephone with their traumas, having a fandom like that condoning disgusting stuff like that and dismissing coercion and SA is disingenuous and honestly made me lose even more respect for her. I’m not asking her to stand up for her fans as an anti I’m asking her to stand up for them as a decent person, it’s the bare minimum to make a statement and of course if the fandom doesn’t listen I won’t talk anymore about it since she’s one person but she hasn’t said anything and that’s the problem.

The webtoon thing made me giggle like- 'oh no we're stuck in a maze with fucking yellow everywhere' 'oh no...lets make out' Daily Hobie HC!! ACTOR HOBIE EEEEE Hobie and you had been working together as actors for a long time, with even falling for each other at some point and being in a stable relationship. With having produced the newest movie, Zepotha, the two of you found a lot of interview opportunities approaching Hobie and you at a shocking rate, as the actors of the main characters in the movie. Some of these have been turned down due to some complications, but one thing that you both were ecstatic for was the 'Puppy Interview'. Although Hobie (and you, but you were less open) hated sitting down and having to be put through a barrage of questions, the only good thing was the puppies. Once the both of you were seated, the camera began recording, with the two of you introducing yourselves, unable to stop chuckling at the way everything was so unscripted. The moment the puppies came into the little pen, Hobie was immediately scooping them up into his lap while you leant into him, going scarily quiet for a few moments as you tried to keep up the slight amount of professionalism you had left. You watched with a smile as the puppies clambered all over the two of you, latching onto one and letting it lay in your lap, watching it playfully fight with the other puppies from the safety of your legs. As questions about the movie and Zepotha were being asked, Hobie and you both answered as honestly as possible, even talking about a few easter eggs of the movie, specifically that were hidden to point to Hobie's character. He pointed out one of the main clues in the movie that pointed to the dead rabbit scene was the expired red cordial spilling, which a lot of people seemed to have missed. Eventually, the question came out which made both of you instinctively meet each other's gaze. 'First impression of each other when you guys first met?' Immediately, you respond with 'fear', causing Hobie to burst out laughing, watching as two puppies gnawed at his spiked bracelet, encouraging them to continue to try bite into it. You felt slightly flustered when you heard Hobie nonchalantly admit that his first impression of you was that you were admittedly kind of cute. The next question was shifted back to the movie Zepotha, with Hobie answering eagerly for this one. 'What character from the movie most represented you IRL?'. It was so surprise when Hobie immediately mentioned his character that he played, which was a scrawny punk boy. He chuckled as you fondly roll your eyes at him, pointing out how he relates because Hobie made the character from scratch to fit into the film, to which Hobie proudly hums at you. Overall, both of you seemed to love the Puppy Interview, since it was all Hobie and you gushed about on the ride back home to the boathouse. You both changed into more comfortable attire and laid on the bed, with Hobie flopping down next to you, starting to initiate a small playfight. You wrestled against him with a laugh, the playfight going on for around 15 minutes before you gave up with a sigh, letting Hobie cover your face with his sweet kisses, whispering the last line of the killer from the movie into your ear, like he had killed you. Hobie feels his heart swell at the sound of your chuckle, before seeing you stick your tongue out like you were dead, unable to help himself from laughing at your antics. -🐦⬛
Lmaooo can't blame them since there's nothing else to do but rip some yellow wallpaper! 😂
