finished a whole two books so far this year, just finished Grey Dog by Elliot Gish. so disappointing. it's got ~female rage~ and feminist horror or whatever but then the entire novel is just lashing out at other women and punishing other women for... i don't know, existing?? the female rage mc doesn't kill her abusive dad but murders her friend because she wouldn't put out and correctly points out that the mc is not well and expressed concern for her. i hate this book LMAO

Ada's life is not that hard i'm sorry LMAO #like not in Lowry Bridge. i don't care her life is not fucking hard KRKF #so it just spends all this time... far as it feels like- lashing out at other women for having families or something idfk #rather than like... patriarchy or the structures that actually oppress her #like she barely thinks about the freak of a man who told her in a very over the top way that women are meant only to 'have puppies and die'#but constantly is pissed off at her friend for like. being worried about her and asking the lady she lived with to keep an eye on her #like aggressivelt dwells on the women who care about her and want her to be okay and is extremely cruel to them #and then is like. whatever around her abusive father or the one (1) horrible man she knows #i mean she yelled at her dad. but that's as far as it got.#oh also she abused one of her students......... actually two. both were girls what a fucking shock
