Day 31 of #HomeWithTheForce May Challenge: Star Wars Inspiration. I’ve always appreciated the discussion of looking within to find the Force in the Skywalker Saga. Honest introspection is very important. When we moved into our current place, which has a living room downstairs and a loft upstairs, I wanted to keep our living room tech free. I’m grateful to have done so. Mind you, our cell phones and Bluetooth speakers come downstairs, but I’m mindful to keep this space a sanctuary, so keep to creative fueled apps like Spotify, Pinterest, or Instagram. We have a corner unit, so the room gets great light, and it’s an excellent place to focus on deeper conversation or self reflection... to look to the Force. 🤓💕 In a time when we are all elevated by what is going on around us, I urge you to find your sanctuary for even 15 minutes a day, too. “What if the democracy we thought we were serving no longer exists, and the Republic has become the very evil we have been fighting to destroy?” -Padmé ✨ It’s the 40th anniversary of my fave Star Wars movie, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, but my #ootd is inspired by my fave of the prequel trilogy, REVENGE OF THE SITH, which celebrated its 15th anniversary earlier this week. Padmé plays a much smaller role in Ep 3 than she did in the other prequels, but her significance in the Skywalker Saga can’t be overstated. Other than being the mother of the most important twins in the galaxy, she was in some ways the mother of the Rebellion, and it sucks her subplot re: the early foundations of the Rebel Alliance ended up on the cutting room floor for ROTS. I love that she is a wise and accomplished career woman who also has an impeccable wardrobe and isn’t afraid to flaunt it for fear that she may be unfairly perceived by her peers as fickle.
