A Winter’s Evening (A Stolitz Fanfic)

Stolas was just finishing preparing dinner. The kitchen smelled of grilled salmon and fresh pecan pie. He was humming some Sinsmas tune, wearing an apron over his homeknit sweater. The door swung open, a cold wind blew in and with it a cursing Blitz, shivering as he struggled to undress. As he took off his countless layers of snow-soaked clothes, small lumps of snow fell to the hard wood floor as well as their welcome mat which read ‘A Happy Home.’.

Stolas heard the door swing open, he hooted loudly, sauntering over in a playful sort of waltz, as he finished stirring the green bean casserole with his magic.

“Oh Blitz! I’m so glad you’re home I hope you had a good day at work! Dinner is almost—“ he saw his husband shivering blue, cursing under his breath, now only wearing underwear as the rest of his clothes were soaked.

Stolas swiftly ran over, using his magic to put another log in the fire, sending it into a sudden burst of new flame. His apron flew off with a glow of blue, his sweater followed suit, exposing his pillow of fluff. He grabbed Blitz by the hands, holding them against his own cheeks, gazing at Blitz’s face, focusing on his eyes. In his sudden worry he tried not to cry, but tears welled up in the corners of his eyes, his cheeks puffed, as one would when taking the first breath after swimming, and a warmth rushed over the gentle red scales of Blitz’s palms.

Blitz sighed, shivering still, the fluffiest blanket they owned was flown over and around Blitz’s small frame. After a moment, where Blitz just held Stolas’s slender face, he smothered his own into the chest before him, shivering before whispering thanks across his scattered tone.

He still shivered, but as time passed it subsided to subtle movements. His face back to its normal hue, a gentle imprint in his lover’s feathers, and Stolas now holding Blitz and carrying him into the living room, laying him on his favorite heated blanket, and smothering his face in kisses.

And in this new calm, Stolas decided to have dinner in the living room on the couch with him, setting up a small plate for each of them, and feeding Blitz with such gentleness that he became accustomed to.

Blitz turned to Stolas, as he went to take another spoonful of pie, holding a light finger against the ridge of his chin, pulling him close, and kissing him, the flicking of his tongue against his, while a hand pressed softly against his chest, grabbing his feathers ever so slightly, and sobbing. Stolas wiped his tears and rocked him gently, the both just whispering the actuality that they loved each other, over and over again. To Stolas, Blitz was further than the eternity of Hell, he was his forever more.

the woman from before left her mittens at her table and I know her name because I called the taxi for her and I kinda wanna see if I can find her on fb to tell her we have her mittens but maybe that would be creepy. they were nice homeknitted mittens too :( I can’t stop thinking about her I hope she got home safe

Depending on your needs, you can make it bigger or smaller; as knitted in Powder River DK yarn, both dyed and undyed from Mountain Meadow Wool, each square is approximately 16" / 40.6 cm. Just when you think you can crack out the shorts... in England we should be used to this uncertainty in the weather but I always get it wrong when I walk out the door, believing in the sunshine and have to back track!! I’m in an academically intense period right now as I undertake an archeology module for the first time. My availability will be limited!
