This beautiful piece of art may be off to get a lovely frame and a trip to Bayoa’s and my home in Copenhagen. It’s not every day that such a purchase gets to make more than me happy. Thank you so much @zosiasolomon for letting me know about the auction and for creating such a breathtaking piece of art!

She loved the stars. If she saw something with stars on it she almost always got it, maybe for herself, maybe as a gift... but it was so very Kai.

Alexandrine Drop Tiara
This tiara was originally made for Queen Alexandrine of Denmark in 1912.  Her son, Fredrick IX, gifted it to his daughter Princess (now Queen) Margrethe for her 18th birthday.  It is currently in the possession of the former Princess Alexandra, who has not been required to return it following her divorce.  It is unknown if it will eventually be returned to the main Danish royal family.
Compared to other diamond tiaras, this one has very few diamonds.  It is very open, with gold wire arches inter-spaced with mildly floral elements.  But the magic of this tiara lies in the diamond pear drops en tremblant, dangling pieces that move and sparkle with every little movement. (x)
