U18 Women's World Championship 2025: What To Know
The U18 Women’s World Championship for the top division in women’s hockey starts today! Here is everything you need to know.
WHO
The tournament is divided into Groups A and B.
Group A consists of Finland, Japan, USA, and Sweden,
Group B consists of Czechia, Canada, Slovakia, and Switzerland.
All rosters are here
WHAT
A round-robin series in each group will rank each teams before all eight go to the quarterfinals in the following format: 1A vs. 4B, 1B vs. 4A, 2A vs. 3B and 2B vs. 3A. The two last placed teams will play a relegation round. Full rules here.
WHEN
Schedule: January 4th to January 12th
Yes, like this morning. Most of these games will start before noon for you if you are in North America.
WHERE
The games are in Vantaa, Finland.
TSN will air all games that have USA and Canada, and NHL Network will air all games that have USA, but only using TSN’s broadcast. Winning gold in the previous year, unfortunately, does not constitute getting your own home broadcast for USA hockey. In Finland, matches will be on TV5 channel and Max streaming service. Unfortunately, I struggled to find broadcast information for the remaining countries. If anyone has more information, please add!
WHY?
The U18 Worlds fucking rules. We’ve had two major upsets (Czechia over Canada, Sweden over USA) in the semifinals in the last two years. This is your first chance to lay eyes on some of the future stars of women’s hockey. If you’re older than 18 you get to have a crisis about how old you are. It’s the best.
I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THESE TEAMS?
I did a (very deep) dive into each and every team, complete with expectations for each team, standout player/storylines, and some highlights. If interested, you can read here.
#hockey#women's hockey#im going to reblog again i the morning when its. not 1:38 am#u18 women’s worlds#u18 wwc#u18 wwc 2025

This is the Christmas Station ID of TV5 in 2014. The Christmas Station ID is themed “Krismas Mas Mas Masaya”.
The Christmas Station ID theme song was sung by Filipino OPM singer and songwriter Sarah Geronimo featuring OPM group Gimme 5 who are the backing vocals of the song.
The Christmas Station ID is led by Vice Ganda, Empoy Marquez, Coco Martin and Zoren Legaspi who are known as "The Taros Comedy Crew" from the TV5 sitcom show Banana Split. They are the genderbend versions of Arcee Muñoz, Ritz Azul, Alice Dixson and Eula Caballero who are the original cast members of Banana Split featuring Imee Hart, Iwa Moto and Sugar Mercado. But now, The Taros Comedy Crew is now a band consisting of Vice Ganda as the drummer, Empoy Marquez as the bassist, Coco Martin as the keyboardist or the keytarist and Zoren Legaspi as the guitarist. They resemble as “The Wiggles” but are more crazy than The Fresh Beat Band from Disney and the Imagination Movers from Nick Jr. The Christmas Station ID also contains special guests like Maine Mendoza, Gelli de Belen, Ogie Alcasid, Judy Ann Santos, Jodi Sta. Maria, Sam Milby, Iza Calzado, Erich Gonzales, Willie Revillame, Luis Manzano, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Matteo Guidicelli and DingDong Dantes who resemble as “The Backstreet Boys”, twin sisters Anne Curtis and Jasmine Curtis-Smith featuring Barney from Disney’s Barney and Friends, Kermit the Frog, Elmo and Big Bird from the Muppets who are created by Jim Henson, Wayne Allwine who is the voice actor of Steve from Disney’s Blues Clues, Frozen actors Will Smith, Robert de Niro and Freddy Highmore including president Noynoy Aquino.
Somehow, Other TV5 crew members are missing in the Christmas Station ID as well. Somehow, This is the only Christmas Station ID to feature the crew from ABS-CBN and GMA as special guests. But Ogie Alcasid, Luis Manzano, Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Matteo Guidicelli and DingDong Dantes moved to TV5 in 2010. Otherwise, Sam Milby and Willie Revillame may have moved to TV5 in 2005 when it was launched in May 5, 2005. But other crew members like Gelli de Belen, Judy Ann Santos, Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado and Erich Gonzales weren't from TV5.
The Christmas Station ID was recorded at the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong, Manila in November 30, 2014. However, Some of the clips are re-used in the Barney and Friends 35th anniversary Home Video special Sing and Dance with Barney when Barney appears on TV and makes magic to make it come alive featuring the music video of My Name Is by Vanilla Ice from Disney's Blues Clues and deleted songs like The Real Slim Shady and Without Me by Vanilla Ice in the 2002 movie Frozen which also have music videos in the DVD.
The Christmas Station ID will be re-used in 2015 with the new theme “Happy Ka Dito Ngayon Pasko!” but with minor changes and an explosion at the very end. Somehow, The Christmas Station ID will also include cameos like Rufa Mae Quinto, Julia Montes, Cristine Reyes, Dimples Romana, Alex Gonzaga, Roxanne Guinoo, Angelica Panganiban and Valerie Concepcion waving at the end.

(with reports from 106.1mhz's FMR Babe Radio: Dipolog and DWPM-AM's Radyo 630: Manila)
CALAMBA, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL -- In a shocking and tragic incident that is recently unfolded in the morning on Sunday (November 5th, 2023 – Calamba local time)… Juan Jerrebel Anggoy Jumalon, popularly known as “DJ Johnny Walker”, a 57 y/o part-time hard-hitting local radio announcer and Disc Jockey [born on August 2nd, 1966], morning radio host and on-board provincial station manager of 94.7mhz’s Gold FM: Calamba was shot dead inside on his own home radio booth at Purok 2, Brgy. Don Bernardo A. Neri, Calamba, Misamis Occidental during an exclusive Facebook live video broadcast of his local morning radio program 'Pahapyod sa Kabuntagon’ (Early Morning). This devastating event has sent shockwaves throughout the local Calambanon community and the radio broadcasting industry in Misamis Occidental.
DJ Johnny Walker, a beloved not-so-fictional figure in the local radio scene, was a prominent personality on 94.7 Gold FM: Calamba. His real name “Juan Jerrebel Anggoy Jumalon”, was known to very few as he went by his radio alias, which had become synonymous with the morning airwaves. More than several years or decades of experience in radio broadcasting, Mr. Jumalon had become an integral part of the local community, providing entertainment, information and a sense of connection to his listeners each day.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/7048aaae7f60ebbd7c9c5267739770ad/9fa4f60fde51f602-fe/s540x810/ac23bd3f3bd6a7c2239ace7d4527bc737b9503a0.jpg)
94.7 Gold FM: Calamba is an affiliated local FM radio station of the Kalayaan Broadcasting System Inc. (KBSi), and DJ Johnny Walker played a pivotal role in its success. His morning radio program, 'Pahapyod sa Kabuntagon’ was not only known for its entertaining content but also for its community engagement, discussing local & regional issues in Misamis Occidental, and bringing the community together through various interactive segments. This made Mr. Jumalon, a cherished figure among his listeners and colleagues.
In 2014, his personal broadcasting setup of the aforesaid local FM radio station within a decade before the male suspect gunned down to Mr. Jumalon during an exclusive televised interview of DXTE-TV 8's TV5: Cagayan de Oro for News 5. In his personal health reasons back then, Mr. Jumalon was part of the Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Several years later aside from murder case, local and regional issues to be followed when discussing land and business all across the Misamis Occidental area as a motive.

Within the final moments develop, the unnamed male suspect who remains at large and carries a firearm of caliber .45 pistol, disrupted the live FM radio program and shot twice to Mr. Jumalon (even in audible transistor radio simulcast in general), leading to his untimely demise by shooting his lower lip towards his back portion head, then stealing a gold jewelry worth PHP150,000 (U$D2,682.45), and quickly fled off the scene shortly after. Overall, two or three suspects have yet to be later identified on national internet TV. The aforesaid live video on the radio station’s Facebook page on 94.7 Gold FM: Calamba, captured the horrifying event as it unfolded, leaving online viewers in shock and disbelief.

The untimely demise of “DJ Johnny Walker” is a profound loss to the local radio industry and the community he served for several years or decades. His legacy as a passionate radio personality who connected with his audience on a personal level will be remembered and cherished on him. He is one of the 199th journalists killed since 1986 until the present, which includes Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Dumaguete City, Mabinay and Negros Oriental, as according to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP).
As the investigation unfolds from the Calamba-Philippine National Police, the community and his fellow broadcasters mourn the loss of a beloved figure and await justice throughout the weekend for this heinous act.
EDITOR's NOTE (as of November 7th, 2023): We edited out for clarification from our previous update, as we all learned from our media friends at Radyo 630: Manila and other KBP-member FM, AM and TV stations in Mindanao to come up with a conclusion.
Amalia Sheran Sharm, Miko Kubota and Ridley Terrance have all fully contributed to this news report.

May 10-16, 2014
It was Ran's birthday, so I couldn't help Roxanne with moving. She said tomorrow would be fine. I withdrew money for a deposit and two months' rent in advance.
Also, my parents were leaving this week.
I practiced driving for long stretches, sticking to what I had practiced, and went around town. I just prayed nothing would go wrong. I'm still quite slow.
Monday:
We went to Roxanne's new place with Roxanne's two friends, my boyfriend, Hollmae, Dom, and me. Dom came along when he heard there were other girls. We stopped at a shop first to buy a mattress because the place wasn't fully furnished. My car was packed, and we unloaded it. We moved in and cleaned up. Someone knocked and asked if everything was okay, just to check the shower.
To my surprise, it was Sir Apollo. I froze for a moment and we locked gazes. I greeted him first so no one would notice my unease. My heart was racing. I introduced Roxanne as my niece who was moving in, and we were helping her settle. I was dressed in shorts and a tank top, and I felt his eyes on me.
It wasn't allowed to have many people there, but he said it was okay for now. We went to Good Taste and ate while Dominic flirted with others.
Wow, what luck. I won't be going back there anymore.
I had warned Roxanne earlier if she wanted to move out. I told her some truths about the owner, Sir Apollo, but not everything. I told her to be careful.
But she claimed he was kind. Yeah, that's the point, sister!
Tuesday:
My parents left for Isabela with Ran. I'm alone, so I invited Mansoor to hang out.
Nothing spicy—just talking, watching House MD, eating, browsing magazines, and casual kissing. We went for a walk, but I'm pretty sure the neighbors will gossip.
I already asked my parents if he can come over, and Mom said it's okay as long as we know our limits.
He accompanied me to the gym.
Wednesday:
I went driving just to practice. But there was something wrong with the carburetor, so I called Kuya Marvin to check it out. He told me to go home, and he arrived and checked it. There was nothing wrong; it just needed cleaning, so he taught me how to do it.
I got home quite early and read a book Dominic lent me about types of men or something.
Thursday:
I went jogging with Djang, Dom, and Walt. We ate at Chow King.
In the afternoon, Roxanne called me to her apartment. I said no unless she was dying or something. She said she needed help finding a job and that she would stop schooling this year. So I drove by, and thankfully, he wasn't there. I helped her out.
I went to visit Mans in his home. It was already nighttime, and we made out in the car. But I was afraid to go home because it was dark.
So I stayed at his house. I didn't have things with me, but I had extra underwear in my glove compartment because it's summer.
His parents were there and allowed me to sleep there. Mansoor would be sleeping with his brother.
We didn't mention sleeping together in a bed. We both lied, saying I had a sister living there and she separated us.
His parents asked if he was doing something I didn't like, but I assured them their son was very respectful.
Friday:
In the morning, I helped his mom make breakfast, which I insisted on because I like cooking. We talked, and she was really nice.
Mans left with me, but we had a small joy ride before going home. In the hot afternoon, we were just watching on the laptop. We kissed lovingly, but that's all.
Before it got dark, I offered to drop him off at the station only. I went grocery shopping and went back home. I was doing some work and thinking about enrolling in a Spanish class again, probably after enrollment.
Saturday:
I went to the gym early for weights and then a light jog. Mansoor was going on a trip with his cousins.
At home, I finished some work and watched TV5. I cooked. It feels lonely without Roxanne; she was busy finding a job.

This is the Taros Comedy Crew from the TV5 sitcom show Banana Split. They reference to the Taros from Kamen Rider Den-O in their human form. They are also the genderbend versions of Arcee Muñoz, Ritz Azul, Alice Dixson and Eula Caballero who are the original cast members of Banana Split. The Taros Comedy Crew is composed of 4 members Vice Ganda, Empoy Marquez, Coco Martin and Zoren Legaspi which references to Momotaros, Urataros, Kintaros and Ryutaros but in their human form. Before the group was formed, Vice Ganda was from the ABC-5 sitcom show Oki Doki Doc from 1990 until 2000 and the new show That’s My Doc which is similar to Oki Doki Doc but more crazy. Although, He was also from the primetime talk show Gandang Gabi Vice while Coco Martin was from the sketch comedy show Laugh Out Loud with Edgar Allan Guzman, Sef Cadayona and Tuesday Vargas and Empoy Marquez was from the comedy program show Shock Attack with RJ Padilla. Somehow, Zoren Legaspi appeared in the GMA sitcom show Lokomoko with John Prats, Zanjoe Marudo, Pooh, Pokwang, Arjo Atayde, Jayson Gainza, Carl Cervantes, Victor Silayan, Christian Bables, Terence Baylon, JM de Guzman, Jeric Gonzales, Albie Casiño, Chad Kinis, AJ Perez, Jerome Ponce, Luis Manzano, Matteo Guidicelli, Michael V. and Allan K. Eventually, Zoren Legaspi was from GMA from 2005 until he moved to TV5 in 2010. Before they have moved to TV5. Empoy Marquez was from the sitcom show Bubble Gang from ABS-CBN from 1995 until 2000 before he was removed by Vic Sotto along with Ahron Villena. But Empoy Marquez and Ahron Villena moved to GMA in 2000 before moving to TV5 in 2005. Luckily, Empoy Marquez was from the sitcom show Ispup with Bayani Agbayani, Raymond Bagatsing, Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Arcee Muñoz, Ritz Azul, Alice Dixson, Tuesday Vargas and Eula Caballero while Ahron Villena was from the GMA drama show Bituin from 2000 until 2004, the GMA action shows Ang Panday from 2004 until 2005 and Captain Barbell from 2005 until 2010. Somehow, Coco Martin was originally from the GMA sitcom show Tropang Trumpo with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola and Andi Eigenmann. However, He was also from the GMA drama comedy show Home Along da Riles from 1990 until 2000 and the slapstick comedy show Bida si Mr., Bida si Mrs. from 2000 until 2005 with his wife Judy Ann Santos before they got divorced in 2005. Due to this, Judy Ann Santos moved to ABS-CBN and Coco Martin moved to TV5 in 2005. Eventually, Zoren Legaspi was from the ABS-CBN sitcom show Si Tsong, Si Tsang with his wife Carmina Villaroel when they got married in October 31, 1998. Their daughter Cassandra “Cassie” Legaspi was born in September 16, 2000 and their son Mavy Legaspi was born in November 30, 2004. Unfortunately, Zoren Legaspi, Carmina Villaroel and their children moved to GMA in 2005. Although, Vice Ganda was permanently from TV5 in 1990 which was originally known as ABC-5. In the TV5 Christmas Station ID 2014 - "Krismas Mas Mas Masaya", They are now a band consisting of Vice Ganda as the drummer, Empoy Marquez as the bassist, Coco Martin as the keyboardist or the keytarist and Zoren Legaspi as the guitarist. They resemble as “The Wiggles” but are more crazy than The Fresh Beat Band from Disney and the Imagination Movers from Nick Jr. Coco Martin was born in February 23, 1962 and was confirmed to be the eldest Imagin who can be strong. Somehow, Coco Martin is known to be as “The Kabuki Guy”. Although, Vice Ganda was born in October 29, 1968 and is known to be as “The Rockstar”. Although, Zoren Legaspi was born in September 20, 1970 and is known to be as “The Street Dancer”. Although, Empoy Marquez was born in January 31, 1975 and is known to be the youngest Imagin. Somehow, Empoy Marquez is known to be as “The Businessman”.
