THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHT so light up their world, it shall be enjoyed by everyone.
PAIRINGS: no pairings but includes sumeru characters GENRE: modern au but still present in sumeru NOTE: if there's anything wrong here please correct me!! WORD COUNT: 1.7k
"The spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance."
.
.
"The time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicate dark shadows and evils, and gives us the strength to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year."
.
.
"So.. can I use my sparkler to scare the evil away?"
Your eyes shifted to one of the kids present in your circle. A small smile formed on your face as you heard the question.
"Well.. yes you can-"
"CMON GUYS LET'S GO!"
"Oh.. at least they're in the spirit." You mumbled to yourself.
You rose from your seat and fixed your skirt. Your eyes lingered on the children, running away and enjoying the view of the sparklers in their hands. Just two minutes ago they were begging for some Diwali stories. Oh well!
"Y/N! You look so beautiful!"
Your attention on the children was moved as soon as you heard a new voice. Your head turned in the direction and noticed the elderly woman who stood right in front of you.
Her eyes shifted from your saree to your accessories, to your bindi. Admiring your beauty on the whole, giving you the warmest smile.
"Thank you ma'am," You replied, returning the smile. Your eyes wandered to her hand, actually to the item in her hand.
"Do you need help?" You asked, stretching out your hand. But to your surprise, the woman shook her head, yet still offering it to you.
"It's actually for you and your parents, your mother helped me once, this is my thanks." She explained, giving you the basket filled of sweets.
"Oh, thank you!"
You took the basket out of her hand and gave her yet another smile. Her eyes made their way onto your hand and offered a suggestion.
"If you want, I can offer to do your mehndi." Her body moved in the opposite direction, showing you a group of ladies who were conversing with each other while letting their mehndi dry.
Your eyes made their way back onto the woman and agreed to her offer, making your mini-departure and beginning your adventure back to your home, with sweets in hand.
The sun had already set, yet the city was not dark. It was lit up, beautiful lanterns everywhere, diyas being lit and placed at the entrances of homes. So your venture back home was well lit, not only with the lights but with the smiles of passersby and children outside who were enjoying the activities.
That elderly woman wasn't a stranger, in fact, everyone who's a local isn't strangers to each other. But that woman always offers gifts to your family every year, so it won't be shocking if your mother has a gift prepared for you to give the woman.
As your home was in view, your mother noticed you as she was opening the windows, in the hope of Mother Lakshmi finding her way inside to bless them with wealth and success.
"Y/N, you're back! Before you return back to the city, can you help me place the diyas around the house? And outside. Please!" Your mother informed you, opening the door for you.
You made your way inside and made it into the kitchen, greeting your father and witness the food on the table.
"I brought snacks, we can eat them later."
Your father nodded at your words, then asked a question.
"Are your friends still coming over?" He asked.
"Cyno and the others? Of course."
With those last words being spoken, your mini activity with your mother started, diyas placed around the house, more attraction for Mother Lakshmi.
Before you left the house once again, your mother gave you a basket of sweets to offer the elderly woman.
You made your way back to the city, gave the gift to the woman, and got your mehndi done as well! The ladies nearby invited you into their conversation as you let your hands dry.
In the end, once you were finished, you bid them goodbye and left.
On your mini walk, a certain someone caught your attention, she blended in with the children nearby. Talking about children, it's the group from earlier and upon noticing you, they invited you over.
.
.
"That looks amazing, good job guys!" You praised them. The group of children all came together to create rangoli, along with..
"Y/N?" A soft voice reached your ears.
"Nahida, hello." You greeted, bending a bit to reach her level, giving her a small pat on her head. Nahida wore a lehenga, a green one that complimented her eyes.
A small smile made its way onto her face as her eyes shifted from you and back to the children that surrounded her, witnessing the teamwork each kid put into creating the rangoli.
Nahida stood up from her spot and turned to face you.
"Is it time to go? I got caught up with them, I forgot about the invitation to your house." She started.
"No, it's not time, I'm just strolling and then I saw you!" You simply explained, causing the girl to nod at your words.
"Shall I join you?"
"Of course!"
You two then made your way deeper into the city, in hopes of maybe finding your friends along the way.
As you wished, the stroll with Nahida was indeed calming but in doing so, you met up with some familiar faces. That being Tighnari and Collei.
Upon seeing you both, Collei gave you two a cheerful wave as her face lit up. Tighnari noticed and began walking up, Collei slowly following behind.
"Is it time?" He asked. You shook your head no and asked a few questions.
"Have you seen the others?" You asked, though before you could've gotten an answer, Nilou came up from behind.
"I'm here!" She exclaimed, twirling in her saree. She gave you a tight hug, then turned you around, showing Cyno and Candace.
"Everyone's here!" You said, expressing your excitement with a bright smile and clasping your hands together.
"Since we're all together, won't it make sense we make our way back to your house?" Nahida asked, placing all the attention on her.
"Sure, we can." You replied.
The newly formed group of friends followed behind you as you all ventured back, that is.. Until something caught your eye, rather someone.
The group noticed the change in your behavior and stopped walking.
"Is something wrong?" Cyno asked, placing his hand on your shoulder.
You turned to face him, then your friends, and decided to change up the plans.
"Let's go back, but I have a suggestion to make."
"And that us?" Tighnari asked.
"I'll explain once we get back. let's go."
"May the lights of Diwali brighten your path and illuminate your life with peace and joy."
.
.
"Is everything ready?"
.
.
In your hands held a lantern, making your way with not only your friends but everyone you've talked to tonight, that elderly woman, the children, the ladies, and your parents, all holding diyas, lanterns, sweets, and tasty food.
The sight was wondrous, everyone came together yet the plan wasn't completed, not as yet.
You, being the first and the only person to notice, made your way to the dark and silent home, a bit far from the city's light. Silently, you rested the lantern on the floor and knocked on the door.
Knock!
.
.
"What do you want."
"For you to open up of course."
"Then you'll be waiting there all night long."
.
.
"You're still there aren't you..?"
"Mhm!"
Just then, you heard a sigh from the other side causing you to laugh a bit. You picked back up your lantern as he opened up the door, glaring at you.
"Why are you here? You're supposed to be enjoying the festival."
You smiled at the mention of the festival.
"I'm here to bring the festival to you Scaramouche."
"Why?"
"I saw you peeking in the darkness, I know you want to join in, but too scared to ruin it, is that what you're thinking?"
Indeed that is what he was exactly thinking. Yet he won't admit to that.
"Just go back." He ended, about to close the door but his eyes caught onto the light in the background, rather at how the light got closer..
Then it hit him.
"What are you.."
"Like I said, bringing the festival to you, everyone should enjoy the warmth of Diwali." You explained with a warm smile.
His eyes softened for a second yet he hid it with a sigh and walked off into the darkness, leaving his door open.
You accepted his silent invitation, before entering you hung the lantern up outside his home and walked in.
The darkness and silence were soon removed as everyone slowly made it inside. The children, along with Nahdia all came in with diyas, placing them around his home.
Your mother placed the food on the table, then made her way to open his windows.
Others with sweets and more food placed them on the table as well, joining the others as they all began to share them with everyone.
His eyes witnessed how slowly his house changed, light everywhere, friends and family inside and outside, all chatting and laughing.
You made your way towards him, holding a diya.
"Do you wanna decorate this?"
His eyes shifted onto you, and then asked a simple question.
"Why did you do this?"
You turned to face everyone, who had sparklers, who ate, and who were just enjoying the mood.
"Diwali is the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. It's celebrated with everyone, I won't allow anyone to be alone in darkness at a time like this."
"Hm." His eyes lingered on the children who decided to create a rangoli in the middle of his living room.
Nahida walked up to him with a sparkler in her hand.
"This represent the light that dispels the darkness of ignorance and evil, and also.." She started, grabbing his hand and walked outside.
Everyone followed behind, all making their way outside.
The sound of fireworks caught the attentions as it lit up the sky.
"These also represent the light." She finished.
Nilou, along with a few younger girls all danced around with their sparklers. Cyno, Tighnari and Collei enjoyed the sight of the fireworks.
"Happy Diwali." You said, turning to face the duo.
"Happy Diwali"
.
.
"Do you still wanna decorate this diya?"
"Yeah sure, whatever.."

Eating (Vampire!Kid x F!Reader, 18+)
Author’s Note: Thank you for your patience. I am back. RIP to that one fic I wrote in 2020 and LOST in the depths of my laptop, you had fisting and dubcon and whatnot. This doesn’t have that, but is a lot better written. YN has very American dialogue here. Editing by @youlooklike-clarabow
It wasn’t right to call this feeling bloodlust. Was it freedom?
He’d just beaten a mortal to death with a heeled shoe, and, in the morning, the people would think that Baba Shakti had been mauled to death by a tiger.
He’d drained that man of his life force, the evidence soaked Kid so thoroughly, he felt it down to his socks with each step he took.
Now, all he wanted was you.
From the first day he’d met you, he’d allowed you to become a constant. He met Lucky first, your little brother, and Lucky had brought him right to you.
What a gift that Lucky had given so freely, he’d have to thank the boy when he saw him next.
He knows exactly where you are too.
You’re stumbling home after a harrowing shift at the bar. It’s Diwali, so of course your work was a little…intense.
You couldn’t fault the people for enjoying the holiday, but Christ that was a lot of work.
And here he was again!
“Funny how that all works,” you think.
He’s playing it off as if he wasn’t waiting up for you, on the steps of your apartment building.
Maybe it was that half-drink you’d had earlier, maybe it was that costume he’s wearing, a black suit, covered in blood.
The blood had dried, but the tears hadn’t.
Maybe it was that half-drink you’d had earlier, but you could hardly look at him, only holding out your hand to take his arm, tightly, up to your place.
On a good day, it’s hard to look at him - and truly see him - fully. It was like staring into the sun. Here, in the dark, maybe you’d scrape by. He’s vibrant, even now
His socks were making a squishing sound with each step.
You unlock your door, and deposit him to lean against a counter, and calmly walk to your kitchenette for some towels, wetting them under your faucet.
It wasn’t your business.
Maybe he’d just been at Tiger’s, Maybe it had been another fight. You’d helped him after those before…
“It’s okay,” you tell him, “just wait.” He droops a little, hopefully relaxing. You’d like him to be comfortable here, with you.
You take a long step and pull out a stray garbage bag from a drawer, waving it around to open in, and gesturing to him.
It was safe to say the suit he wore was ruined. And if that blood was real, and didn’t belong to him, it could open up a whole world of trouble.
Your mind races with a thousand different possibilities and outcomes, what you were liable for, what charges he could be brought up on.
He only stares at you with an expression you can’t place, and unbuttons his shirt.
And your thought process evaporates.
When Lucky had helped him to your apartment after fights at Tiger’s Temple, you’d seen his bare chest before. He was a tall man, and thin to match. His chest was broad, smooth, as ever, but you couldn’t see his ribs anymore.
When he’d come to you for help before, he’d been something of a stray dog, wandering in the streets, begging for any scrap one could spare.
And you had fed him before, but you wouldn’t need to now.
You knew from your little brother that Kid hadn’t been around. Rumors swirled in your little community, but nothing was concrete. He’d been gone, out of town. Eating.
Blood dried on the breathtaking torso of someone who’d been eating.
A little spark of jealousy starts to burn in the front of your skull.
“Had a good vacation?”” You scoff at him. His large brown eyes darken, only slightly. He says nothing.
Heat rushes to your face as he steps forward, dropping his shirt into the empty garbage bag.
You want him close, as usual.
He never takes a half-step more, just to kiss you, be near you. It doesn’t feel as cold as it usually does. It feels like he’s playing with you.
Kid smiles a little, to himself, taking the wet towel off the side of the sink, running it down his reddened neck.
You frown. He’ll have to scrub.
You grab another towel, and begin to do just that.
He doesn’t make a sound as you dampen your towel under the sink and step around towards his broad back.
“This isn't gonna work. You’ll have to shower.” Your voice sounds a little hoarse. It had to be some kind of condition, or spell he’d fallen under.
He seemed flushed, a little more alive.
When you first met him, you noticed large, glossy brown eyes first, but seeing the rest of him makes the awareness of being close to him all the worse, even standing behind his back.
His thick, curly hair reached out, practically begging someone to put their hands in it. The skin of his shoulders is always warm, just like the rest of him.
You’d sat next to him, on your couch in your apartment. Being aware of his body heat was obvious, but it felt heightened tonight. Did he run warm? Or did you just notice it because it’s him?
You knew the answer, but the air was so thick in your room, it seemed to soften any hard thought you were trying to wrap your head around.
The rag in your hand was spent, so you threw it into the trash bag, and you tap his spine,
“Go shower.” You command, and he obeys you, removing his shoes and putting them in the bag after.
He looks around, spell broken, only to feel lightly proud that he’d only left a thumbprint on your counter.
In the shower, he wishes you were still next to him still, in the water . . . helping. You were so eager to be kind, why? Especially to the likes of him.
He watches the faint traces of red and pink rinse from his skin, to circle the drain.
It was all he could do not to step out of the shower and put his face in your neck.
He’d never indulged so freely in someone’s blood before, and he’d never imagined that his first real taste would be from the man who ruined everything, and harmed so many.
And he’d come right to you, thinking he’d been sated, but he just wanted more.
He’d never hurt you, he’d die before he hurt you.
Kid lets some water fall into his mouth, and spits it out between his feet.
There had been a time, when he was younger, where he’d known a street performer who’d played a cello. It was a large, cumbersome instrument, but the performer had made it seem light, elegant.
The vibration of the strings had stayed with him, humming inside his head whenever he’d gotten hungry.
And now, wet, in the shower, he felt absolutely starved.
No. Get a grip.
He needed to pick something else to focus on, not the tantalizing hymn coming from your throat.
Your apartment!
He’d been in your apartment before, of course, but he felt he’d never gotten the chance to appreciate it.
Your bathroom was old, but clean. Faded white tile, and one singular bottle of shampoo and conditioner on the counter in front of a small, circular mirror.
He already knew that you had made a friend who sold soap to tourists, he recognized the cut of the bar in a little dish to the side.
He shouldn’t snoop.
One lone towel is hanging by the shower, and he takes it, dressing in large gray sweats that you’d picked for him.
He doesn't like that you have men’s sweats, but he doesn’t have a right to not like it, when he benefits from it.
He gasps a little as he opens the door back to the rest of your studio.
Warm.
When he first knocked on your door, he hadn’t noticed the few candles you’d had burning. He didn’t realize you’d be perched on the armrest of your old couch. He’d helped you carry it in, hadn’t he? He thought the color of it suited you, just as he does now.
“How was your shower?” You ask, voice soft. You don’t betray the fact that your mouth is watering.
He’d showered, obviously, but the steam coming off his skin didn’t help the knot of feelings, tightening in your stomach.
Ugh, fucking feelings. They’d never done anything but betrayed you, why would this time be any different ?
“Um…good.” He replies, just as soft, taking long, even strides to meet you on the couch, and sit on the other side.
There’s a golden cast of light on your skin, and he knows he has some fundamental truths he needs to face.
The first being, that he had died with his Mother that night, and came back as well…this. Whatever it was.
The second was, he’d just torn the nation's religious leader limb from limb. It would look like a wild animal, but if that stupid penthouse had cameras, they’d know it was him.
The last was, he desperately wanted you. Whatever you’d be willing to give, he’d devour greedily. It was time to do something about it.
“You haven’t asked me what happened.” He states, almost groaning as he felt the couch lean from your weight.
“I don’t want to know.”
Kid exhales a sigh of relief.
“I do wish you’d stop putting yourself in danger.”
He blinks at that.
“You gotta stop showing up covered in blood.”
“Should I show up with flowers? Would you like that?”
“Depends on the flowers.”
He leans in, the warmth of his body making your head start to swim, “I’m serious. What the fuck happened tonight?”
“Things have changed. I’ve changed them. It’s going to be better now.”
You cross your arms.
“You know I’d never let anything happen to you. No one follows me when I come here.” His round eyes seem to burn in the half-light.
“If things have changed…does that mean I can kiss you?” the words fell out of your mouth easily, but you wince as they make their impact. The energy that was humming in your ears drops, leaving you in silence.
Waiting for a response, simple.
His mouth is on yours in an instant, your head spinning, taken by the impact.
His hands find your hips, and you’re placed securely into his lap. How, in all this time, had you never felt his hands before? All of those times he’d come to you for help after a fight, and he’d kept his lovely hands to himself.
You couldn’t allow that anymore!
You take his wrists in your hands to move his warm, wide palms. You push yourself into his hands because you want to, you want him
His hardness grows steadily underneath you, as he lets you rub yourself against him, allowing himself to get lost, soaking you into himself. He simply had to be yours.
You were a softness he’d wrap himself in, an extra layer to keep him warm through the winter (A/N: FROM A CHALLENGERS FIC).
You feel his hands wander to your shoulders, pulling your mouth away from his with a slight pop.
“You know I’m different.” It wasn’t a question.
All those fights, all those blows to the head that should have killed him, and he’d simply walked away. Of course you knew.
“Are you trying to scare me?” You asked, earnest. You had nerves, of course you did, but it wouldn’t break through.
“No! Never. I’m just trying to be honest.”
You giggle. Your hands cup his face, and you smile at how he relaxes into your grip.
“I think I’m just curious… How long have you been . . . different?” You questioned, taking his chin between your thumb and forefinger.
“Long enough to know what I’m doing?”
“So you won’t kill me.”
“I think Lucky would kill me first. You can send me away if you like. I won’t be back again.”
“I’m not saying no, I just want to see.”
He blinks at you.
You trail off, “May I see?”
“...Sure.”
You put your hands on either side of his face, dark beard soft, he lets you pull u a pink lip, revealing white teeth, one long canine tooth, flat, thin, sharp. There’s another one on the other side. Like a predator, like a beast you’d find in the wild.
Yeah, he’s exactly what he says he is. Different.
“Good?” He asks, neutral.
“Yeah, I’m good.”
The air in your room is cool , his eyes wide and wet.
Is this what all creatures are like?
You almost ask, but fall into his mouth instead.
“Still curious?”
“Ask me tomorrow.”
Tomorrow. He likes the sound of that. Has he ever had anyone want to stay until tomorrow? He couldnt remember when. How strange, to be alive as long as he had, and never been more than a kink, someone dipping a toe into the dark, as if he hadn’t had to make a life here.
That was by design, he thought. Wasn’t he supposed to be the greatest predator and killer of all time? Ha!
Maybe he’s comfortable right here. Maybe the Devil’s perfect predator yearns for a collar and a leash.
What a magnificent leash it would be.
Your back arched against him, you gasp, grinding him. You receive a soft peck against your lips, and the most gentle smile.
Your eyelids flutter close, and he makes himself comfortable against you.
Kid makes a trail between your mouth and the most delicate column of your throat, licking and sucking. You allow him to pull off your shirt, before lowering you back into the worn out couch. You shiver, in spite of the heat coursing through your veins.
He leans over you, tracing his nose against your jaw, inhaling.
“You’re beautiful, you know,” he hums against your ear, the cello strings getting louder and louder in his head.
Putting a hand between your legs, he smiles into your neck. You push yourself against the heel of his palm, enjoying the sparks against your clit.
Your pulse feels too correct under his mouth, and he throbs for it. What a lovely thing, to be able to have your neck between his teeth.
He lies between your legs, comfortably, like he’d been laying with you for years.
He smiles to himself as he feels your wetness against his hand, his mouth wandering over every piece of flesh you had exposed. You gasp as his mouth catches a nipple, tugging it, making you squirm.
He lets you put your hands in his damp hair, his fangs lightly piercing the underside of your breast, red droplets against the softness of your skin for him to lap up.
You whine at the faint pain, but he knows better. The hand between your legs knew better, your pathetic hole fluttering against him.
You were everything.
What a pretty picture you made, wide eyes, a warm, soft mouth, comfortably underneath him like you were meant to be here. How could you make the picture of someone so docile, fuckable, like he didn’t owe you absolutely everything?
To your dismay, he pulls his hand back, and brings it up to his mouth. Your eyes snap open as Kid is struck with a full body shudder. The red against his hand seems to burn into him.
It can’t be true. It’s too perfect, he thinks to himself. You watch him pant, chills down your spine.
“...are you…bleeding?” He asked, rasping into your mouth,
You couldn’t do too much, only nod.
He’d had you too intoxicated, you’d gone and forgotten about your period.
A heartbeat passes. Maybe two.
“I need to eat now. May I?” He asks, polite, but his face betrays him.
“Yes.”
In a blink, he’s upon you. Head between your legs, sucking at your bloody heat like he’d been made to do it. And he had, you supposed.
Your back bows as he smoothly works a finger into you, your own blood and slick guiding him in.
Kid slurps, a filthy sound that nearly made you jump off the couch.
An unfamiliar fog descends over your mind as you let him take what he wants. You're nobody’s fool, except his.
You faintly feel his hands dig into your ass with an unrecognizable strength. You know he’d let you go if you asked, but his brute strength against yours is nothing short of exhilarating.
Is this what it would take to keep him? Blood? You had that! You could always make more too.
Your back arches, trying to get closer to his face, the sharpness of his nose breathtaking against your core.
Your heart pounds in your head as he drinks from you, ears ringing. If you were a little more coherent, you’d be impressed with him, scraping his fingers mercilessly against your front wall, trying to drain any last drop you had to give. He’s taking what he wants.
Whatever had happened earlier in the night, whatever put light behind his eyes, you thank every star.
He frantically scissors his fingers into you, lapping and sucking up everything he earned, bringing you closer and closer.
He lavishes every mark made on you with his tongue, savoring the taste.
You pout, and he holds you while your shaking and shivering dies down.
“Will you forget about everyone else?” He asks, low in the dark.
You blink at him, as if he were speaking another language.
“What?”
There was nobody else. No other ‘lovers’ in the past decade that could match what the two of you had just done.
You feel something twitch against your thigh, in spite of your tiredness, you stick out your lower lip. He stares at it, eyes glittering.
“You-” You puff, all those pesky feelings rushing straight to your head, “You’re holding back!”
“And you're about to be anemic if we aren’t careful.”
You can’t say much to that, so you let out a low, pitiful whine.
“You're going to rest, and you’re going to like it.”
“Only if you stay put,” you blink. He smiles, mouth wet and red.
You turn on the couch, pressing against his thin form, wiggling against him, making yourself comfortable. He lets you take his hand in your own, blood is already drying when you take two of his long, elegant fingers, and put them in your mouth. You sigh, satisfied. He does too.
All will be well, because it’s him. You’ll do anything to keep him.

Hello Eeshu. Happy Diwali!
If you're still taking prompts could you write something about post cohf magnus coming home after getting drunk with cat and tessa and being all adorable and horny and Alec is amused and annoyed.
Happy Diwali Yana!!!!🌈🌻
I wrote an exact scene like this in LWSYF. But for you, here’s another because there can never be enough drunk and sappy Magnus/Alec scenes in the world.
_______________________________________________
“Knock-knock!”
“Knock-knock!”
“Knock-knock!”
Alec groans as the noise grows louder and louder. He turns his face into the pillow to ignore the noise but it keeps on getting louder.
“Aaaggh,” he groans before finally sitting up. He checks the time on his phone.
1:53am.
Who the fuck is disturbing him at this time.
“Knock-knock!” The voice repeats and all the lightbulbs in Alec’s brain light up.
It’s always your own who disturb you during the middle of the night.
Alec removes the comforter and steps outside the bedroom to get Magnus. He’s not sure why Magnus is yelling ‘knock-knock’ when he can just magic inside. He’s almost unsure why Magnus is yelling the words instead of actually knocking.
Weirder things have happened in their world which is why Alec’s isn’t surprised in the slightest that Magnus is already inside the house and there’s a mid-sized door right in the middle of their living room. And Magnus keeps on knocking on it with incessant yelling.
“Knock-knock, Alexander.”
Alec crosses the distance and stands infront of Magnus, or the door.
“Magnus?”
A huge smile appears on Magnus’s face. “Alexander!! Knock-knock.”
“You’re already inside.”
“Oh.” Magnus makes an o-shape with his mouth.
“And why is there a random door inside our house?” Alec questions.
Magnus’s face scrunches in confusion before the smile reappears and he explains, “So, that I can get inside.”
Alec rubs his forehead. “Baby, you’re already inside. And I’m sure you portaled here.”
Magnus steps around the door and moves closer to Alec, “I invented the portal. Did you know that?”
Even in his most sleep-deprived state, Alec can find it in himself to be proud of his boyfriend. “I know. It’s incredible.”
“You think so,” There’s a lopsided smile on the man’s face and he puts his right feet forward but missteps. Alec moves instantly as Magnus falls into his arms, his smile widening as Alec tightens his hold on him.
“Careful,” Alec chides softly as he wraps an arm around his waist.
“Sorry.”
Alec shakes his head in affection. He removes the hair falling on Magnus’s face behind his ears. “What happened to warlocks don’t get drunk.”
Magnus blinks before his eyes widen. He shifts closer to Alec’s ears and whispers, “I lied.”
He chuckles softly as Magnus plants a kiss under his ear.
“Okay.”
“Promise to not tell anyone my secret,” the warlock holds out his pinky figure looking all types of adorable and Alec’s heart softens.
“On one condition.”
“What?”
“You’ll let me out you to bed before you fall on something else and splinter your head in two.”
Magnus giggles, “I can’t break my head in two Alec. I’m not an egg.”
Alec rolls his eyes, even though he’s floored with affection right now. He’s never been particularly fond of drunk people, not because he has an issue with drinking but because people became annoying when drunk. Izzy and Jace always acted hundred times stupider when drunk and Alec had to carry their drunk asses back to the institute.
But with Magnus, Alec doesn’t mind even his drunk self.
Maybe it’s because he’s so in love. Or maybe, it’s because it’s only been a few months since they’ve been back together and Alec still treasures these moments like they can be lost again.
“You’re an idiot,” he exhales.
“Your idiot.”
“I’ll run you a bath.”
Magnus’s face beams at the words. Alec’s never met anyone who loves showers or bathing as much as Magnus. The man can spend entirety of his day there and wouldn’t mind.
Alec, who spent 20 years of his life taking seven minute functional showers is still getting used to the luxury of what a good bath can do for you.
He manages to get Magnus into the washroom. He undresses the warlock, with considerable amount of strength as the man keeps on singing and flapping his body all around.
“Join me.”
“Baby, if I ever say no to that, please shoot me,” Alec mutters.
Magnus chuckles at him and pulls him under the shower head. “That would be redundant to my plans.”
“What plans?”
His boyfriend snaps his fingers and Alec’s naked in an instant. Magnus closes the distance between the two and pushes their mouths together, but owing to his drunk self, he misses it by a second and is about to fall again but Alec catches him—again.
“You are so drunk.”
“I am. I had a lot of fun today.” Magnus runs his hand across Alec’s back, peppering quick, hot kisses on his neck.
Alec keeps a steady hold on the man but Magnus seems in a mood as he keeps getting closer, not interested in the shower as he rubs their bodies together.
“I can see that,” he whispers, his body tingling at the closeness. Always does when he’s this close to Magnus. “I’m assuming Tessa and Cat are in similar state.”
Magnus pouts at them, “seemed fine. Or maybe they got lost in the portal, would serve them right for challenging me like that.”
“Challenge you at what?” He asks, turning the warlock around. Magnus whines on losing the contact but a few seconds later, Alec is lathering his hair with shampoo and a soft sigh leaves his mouth.
“Don’t remember.”
Alec snorts as he turns on the shower and cleans Magnus’s hair.
He finds a soft robe for Magnus but he refuses to wear it. He goes inside the cupboard and comes out with Alec’s sweatshirt in his head. It’s a baby blue sweater that he hadn’t seen in a while.
“You stole another one of my sweater?” He complains.
Magnus rolls his eyes, “I’ve stolen most of your sweaters Alexander, deal with it.”
“Are you just pretending to hate my clothes?”
“No. I hate them,” Magnus giggles. “But they’re comfy sometimes.” He tries to put on the sweater but one of his hands get stuck and he whines. “Alecccccc, evil sweater is eating me.”
“Hypocrite and a child,” Alec mutters before pulling the sweater on the man. He helps get the warlock dressed and Magnus puckers his lips when they’re done. “Victory kiss?”
“For what?“ Alec asks, not that he minds. But drink Magnus isn’t something he sees very frequently so he just wants to annoy him.
“I put the sweater on,” Magnus huffs his chest.
“I put that on you. Are you having memory loss?” Alec teases.
Magnus blinks and then steps back. “I’m drunk. And you’re being mean.”
“Sorry. Sorry,” Alec mumbles, before leaning to kiss him.
They fall onto the bed finally and Alec turns to get into their usual position but Magnus stops him.
“I’m going to be the little spoon tonight,” he announces and turns around, so that his back faces Alec.
Magnus Bane can break and crush and destroy Alec’s life and heart and Alec would let him. This is something he’d known for the longest time now, since Paris, maybe even more. Maybe since the day Alec kissed him in the accords hall. He knows he’d let Magnus do anything to him. But this—this Alec can not let happen. This, is non-negotiable.
“No.”
“What no?”
“It means no. You will not.”
Magnus turns, a frown on his face. “Why?”
“Because I’m always the little spoon.”
“And?”
“And what?” Alec chuckles.
“And I want to be the little spoon today, Alec.”
Magnus shifts closer and pokes Alec’s cheeks. “You’re mean.”
“I’m not. I just like to sleep a certain way,” he announces, a mischievous smile on his face.
“This is my bed,” Magnus whines and in an instant, all the teasing and lightness leaves Alec’s body. He knows it’s a joke, he knows Magnus isn’t trying to make a point, he knows all of it inside his heart but the second the words leaves the warlock’s mouth, his chest hurts.
It’s only been a few months since they’ve been together and while Alec has been living here, he doesn’t live-live here. It’s a stupid little thing but the last time Alec lived here, he had to leave. He had to leave ‘his home’ and go back to the institute. He’s not sure if he’s ready to do that again.
He needs time before he can live-live with Magnus again.
Magnus instantly notices the change in his body because he climbs upwards and forces Alec to look into his eyes. “I didn’t mean that, Alexander.”
Even in his most drunken state, Magnus sees him.
“I know, baby.”
The warlock shakes his head and cups both his cheeks tenderly, “No, you don’t. This is your home. I was being an idiot because you were being annoying.”
“Wow,” Alec says in mock hurt, “You’re victim blaming now?”
Magnus swats at his chest, “Alexanderrrrrr!”
Alec wraps his arms around Magnus’s waist and turns them around.
“Ouch.”
“What?”
“Head hurts.”
“It’s all the alcohol,” he teases.
“Fuck off.”
Alec chuckles as he hides his face in the crook of Magnus’s neck.
They stay like that for a few silent minutes before Magnus whispers. “Alec.”
“Ssshhhh. I’m sleeping.”
Magnus hums. Then a few seconds later, he speaks again. “Darling.”
“Hmmm. Still sleeping.”
“Okay.” Alec smiles knowing that it’s only a matter of second before Magnus calls out for him again, which he does.
“Alexander.”
“Yes, baby?”
“Can I tell you something?”
There’s a hesitation to his voice that wasn’t present earlier so Alec pulls back a little and peers at his boyfriend. “Yeah.”
“Promise not to make fun of me?” Magnus requests, a sheepish smile on his face.
Alec runs his hand through Magnus’s hair before leaning down to kiss him again. “Promise.”
It’s another few moments of quiet and Alec knows Magnus is trying to find the words. Magnus is a master at words but Alec knows it’s difficult for him sometimes, to say the things that lie deep inside of him.
“It’s okay, baby. It’s just me,” he assures as he runs a comforting hand over his chest.
“I was kind of miserable when we were broken up,” Magnus confesses. “Not just kind of. But, a lot, if I’m being honest.”
There’s something pushing at his chest, something similar to pain but not the kind that emerges from sadness. It’s the kind that blooms out of loving something so much that it hurts, in a good way. In the best way.
He palms Magnus’s cheeks and bends down to kiss his eyelids.
There’s a lot he wants to say but doesn’t. Not because he’s scared but because they’ve talked about this enough. He knows it’s just something Magnus needed to say right now, he’s not expecting an answer. He’s not expecting a ‘me too’. He’s not expecting comfort, even.
It’s just something Magnus needed to say right now.
So Alec says the next best thing he can.
“I love you,” he whispers against the man’s mouth, one hand coming under his body to tighten the hold.
There’s a soft smile on Magnus’s face when they pull back.
“Hey, Magnus?” He says after a few moments of quiet.
“Yeah?”
“I’m still not letting you be the little spoon.”

A quiet night
Just a fluffy moment for my boy Amit :) I felt so bad for interrupting his star gazing on chapter 11 of my fanfic, that I wanted to give him a proper quiet night, to relish in his beloved pastime.
Word count: 721 - no warnings
Panting lightly, Amit reached the top of the Astronomy Tower, holding his folded telescope in one hand and an unlit oil lantern in the other. A gust of wind greeted him as he stepped onto the wooden floor from the stairs.
He moved quietly to an opening near the astronomy table, silently thanking Professor Shah for granting him permission to use the tower that night, a kindness she extended every year on this special occasion.
It was the night of Diwali, and though far from the joyous festivities of his parents' home country, Amit was determined to celebrate it in his own way. He carefully placed the lantern, a ceramic diya, on the table, just one, to avoid overwhelming the dark fabric of the night with unnecessary sources of light.
Despite being all alone, Amit wasn't afraid; the gentle rumble of the giant planet sculpture, with satellites moving in neat ellipses around the large central sphere, provided silent comfort in his solitude.
Occasional gusts of wind carried the hoots of owls from the nearby owlery, reminders of the other nocturnal creatures who reveled in the night like he did.
He unfolded his telescope and set it upon a stand, its brass handle momentarily glinting as he lit the candle with a flick of his wand. The scent of the oil mingled with the night air, adding to the tower's serene atmosphere.
Amit adjusted his Pashmina shawl beneath his cloak, seeking comfort against the chill of the November night. The shawl had become too small for him, after five years, barely covering his chest, but it was a cherished gift, filled with memories. He paused to inhale deeply, the familiar scents of sandalwood and neroli laced with a trace of her perfume.
She had never revealed its name, and now, he realized, he might never know.
Tightening his grip on his gloves, Amit crouched down, brushing a lock of dark hair from his face to better adjust the telescope. His movements were slow, precise, and calibrated—a testament to his experience—as he immersed himself in the night's exploration.
First, he focused on Sirius, the Dog Star, a bright, guiding light in the Canis Major constellation. "Hello, dear," he whispered affectionately to the star, its bluish hue vibrant against the night sky. Shifting his telescope northwest, Amit then sought out Orion's Belt as his second point of reference.
As he anticipated, the constellation's distinctive hourglass shape soon emerged into clarity. His eyes fully adapted to the darkness, the stars seemed even more captivating, alluring him in seeking their secrets.
Tracing the rest of the constellation, searching for Betelgeuse and Bellatrix, he thought of the legends surrounding Orion, remembering the stories his beloved grandmother used to tell him. "The most imposing and handsome of men," he mused quietly to himself, lost in the beauty of the night sky.
“I won’t tell Nana Ji, I promise,” he murmured with a half-smile, as a solitary tear threatened to escape his dark eyes.
Amit quickly regained his focus, preparing his inked quill and arranging his chart on the nearby table. Ready for the task of cataloging the stars and admiring the intricate patterns of the constellations, feeling like an artist completing a personal masterpiece.
For an hour, he worked in silence, savoring the tranquility of the night, the gentle caress of the breeze. When he finished, his nose was tinging from the cold, and his hands were stiff despite his gloves.
He turned, and softly blew out the candle, leaving the tower bathed in the dim light from distant windows of the castle towers.
Stepping forward, Amit leaned against the metal banister, his gaze sweeping over the hills surrounding Hogwarts. They were mere darker shadows against the starry backdrop, likely crowned with the first frost of approaching winter.
He tilted his head back, gazing upward.
How many more stars were out there?
How many hidden from his eyes?
How many still to discover?
He took a deep breath, the icy air stinging his lungs, burning his skin.
Gathering his telescope and hugging it close, folding it in his arms, Amit felt another gust of wind brush his face, gently tingling the tears from the corners of his eyes.
But he was not afraid, not anymore.
"Good night, Dadi Ma," he whispered into the night. "Happy Diwali."

Diwali cooking
Sanctuary masterlist
AMOW day 6: baking
So, I've decided I'm posting these in order of completion, not prompts, bc day 3 is definitely not complete (neither one) and I've used multiple prompts from some days anyway. And this is more cooking (and storytelling) than baking, but oh well. Enjoy!
Taglist: @littlespacecastle @whumpymirages @flowersarefreetherapy @amonthofwhump @poc-whump
Anita helps Lea make galub jamun, and tells her the story of Rama and Sita.
Set on the first day of Diwali, a while after Lea comes to live with Anita, Indira and Theo.
1.1k
CWs: BBU, pet whump, recovery, conditioning, implied past non-con, kidnapping, memory loss
"Lea, do you know the story of Rama and Sita?" asks Mistress Anita suddenly.
Lea glances back at Theo, who's sitting on the countertop, a smudge of coloured sand on his nose from the rangoli, talking to Mistress Indira in sign language as they make the bean curry together. He looks nervous, but he's smiling. She can't explain why the expression looks strange on him, only that it does, and it's starting to make her head hurt, watching him.
That's why they're making gulab jamun dough outside on the balcony, though. So Lea can ignore Theo if it gets too much.
"No, mistress."
"Sorry, I should've told you earlier. I forgot you didn't know. It's the origin story of Diwali, for us. Pour a little bit of milk into the bowl and mix it together with your hands." Lea pours the milk in and sticks her hands in the bowl carefully. It still doesn't feel right, getting so messy, but she does it anyway. Mistress Anita likes her doing things like this. "That's good. Add more milk if you need to, and keep kneading until it's a smooth ball. So. The story of Rama and Sita. Rama was a warrior prince, married to Sita. A demon king called Ravana, with ten heads and twenty arms, wanted to marry Sita himself, so he disguised himself as a wounded deer and appeared in the forest in front of her. Sita was worried about the animal, but it disappeared into the forest before she could ask Rama to help her with it, so he decided to find the deer himself. Before he left, he drew a magic circle around her to keep her safe. So long as she stayed within it, she'd be protected."
Lea can guess what's going to happen and her hands drop the dough, clenching and unclenching tightly. Sita's not going to be safe, is she? Mistress Anita rubs her shoulder gently.
"Hey sweetheart. It'll be okay in the end, you just wait and see. Next, Ravana shifted into a thirsty beggar, and appeared again in front of Sita. As Sita stepped out of the circle to give the beggar water, Ravana shifted back to his normal form and kidnapped her. When Rama returned empty-handed from the forest, he was shocked and confused to find Sita gone. He went searching back in the forest, and came across the monkey king, Hanuman, who agreed to help Rama search for Sita.
"Hanuman searched for days, eventually finding Sita in Ravana's prison on the island of Lanka. He took the news back to Rama, and together they gathered an army of monkeys to go to Sita's rescue.
"The battle lasted for ten days, and Ravana was winning, before finally Rama saw his chance and shot Ravana with an enchanted arrow given to him by the gods. He died, and Rama and Sita were reunited, and everyone in the kingdom lit lanterns so they could find their way home. That's why we light diyas for Diwali, and celebrate Sita's rescue and their reunion."
Lea nods and swallows, giving Mistress Anita a weak smile. All those people, celebrating Sita's escape for centuries.
And yet, when she tried to escape, all she got was punished. She doesn't even remember the escape now, but she certainly remembers the punishment. But she supposes she is only a Pet, and Sita was a princess.
Still, it's... it's awe-inspiring, Sita's story. That people still celebrate her rescue from imprisonment all these centuries later, that they remember it... there has to be something there for Pets like her, right? She didn't want her handler, she never did. She realises now how relieved she was to be sold. It was like a weight off her chest when Mistress Anita bought her, and she reunited with Theo (although he did just make things more confusing for a while). She still doesn't remember him from before, but she knows she knew him. Just as she knows now that it's a relief not to be used by her handler anymore. Her handler who she would like to find and punch in the face, and for a moment she's glad that Mistress Anita can't read minds because that thought would be worth a huge punishment from anyone.
Theo was happy to see her. And she's happy that Sita made it home.
"Sweetheart, you can stop kneading now," murmurs Mistress Anita, and Lea blinks down at the bowl. The dough is nearly flat.
It's not supposed to be flat, is it?
"Sorry, mistress."
"That's okay. What were you thinking about to cause that?"
Lea swallows. That was a direct question, she has to answer. "My– my handler, mistress."
"Fair enough. I'd quite like to punch him too." Lea blinks. That certainly wasn't the answer she was expecting. "Here. Have a sweet. It'll make you feel better."
Mistress Anita holds out a bowl of coconut chikki, a present from her colleague apparently, and Lea takes a piece hesitantly. It's hard and sweet and she loves it, has done since Mistress Anita first gave her some, but she doesn't understand why she's being given a treat this time. She hasn't done anything to earn it, she thought about hurting her former handler and she messed up the dough, if anything she deserves punishment, not a treat.
As if reading her mind, Mistress Anita says, "It's Diwali, it's a time for eating sweets. Don't worry, I'm sure we can salvage the dough. Divide it into small balls, roughly fourteen if you can, and roll them until they're completely smooth."
Lea does so, and it works. Soon it's time to go inside and make the sugar syrup, next to where Mistress Indira and Theo are working on the stove, and Lea, ignoring her headache, and with Mistress Anita's approval, reaches up and pulls Theo into a hug. He startles but returns it enthusiastically.
She hasn't initiated many hugs since she arrived here, especially not when she's not in distress, but maybe she should. It's not like Theo will hurt her, after all. Their reunion was a good thing. And his hugs really are very nice.
Theo sinks into her chest, and she strokes his hair automatically. She's not sure how she knows he likes it, she just does, and she's right.
And with the kitchen filled with the smell of spices and Theo held tight to her, warm body pressed against hers, she thinks that this place, Mistress Anita and Mistress Indira's flat, is finally starting to feel like home. It's supposed to, it's always been home because her owners live here, but it's never felt like it.
Not until now.

Indian habits that are actually good for your health
Reading time- 4 mins
Since childhood, we have been following certain habits and rituals without ever questioning why we are doing it in the first place. People are working late at night, eating irregular meals, and consuming processed and junk foods in the name of modern living. In this rush of our modern life, we have entirely forgotten the small things our grandmothers taught us or made us do.
While each of these rituals has stood the test of time, it is only because they had a scientific reason behind it. India, a land of diverse cultures and traditions, is a treasure trove of habits and customs that not only enrich our lives but also promote mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Let's take a journey back in time to explore some of these timeless Indian habits that can rejuvenate our minds, bodies, and souls:
Morning Rituals: In India, our elders have always taught us to start the day by greeting the rising sun. The dawn is greeted with rituals that set a positive tone for the day. The practice of rinsing your face and eyes with cool water upon waking not only refreshes your senses but also stimulates blood circulation. The age-old tradition of performing Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) is a gentle yet invigorating yoga routine that flexes your muscles, calms your mind, and welcomes the day with renewed energy.
Healthy Eating: Having home-cooked Indian meals has been a habit inculcated in us since childhood. Indian households have long relied on the power of herbs and spices for their medicinal properties. Turmeric, with its anti-inflammatory benefits, finds its way into curries and healing concoctions. Holy basil, or tulsi, is revered for its stress-reducing and immune-boosting properties. Incorporating these natural remedies into your diet can fortify your health and enhance your vitality.
Eating with your hands: Indian meals are not just about satisfying hunger; they are an experience that engages all 5 senses. The practice of eating with your hands, as per tradition, connects you with your food, encourages slower eating, and aids digestion.
Practicing Gratitude: Indian traditions place great emphasis on gratitude. Daily prayers and offering thanks for the blessings in life cultivate a positive mindset and nurture your soul. Taking a few moments each day to acknowledge the abundance in your life can shift your focus from worries to appreciation, fostering a sense of mental calmness and emotional well-being.
Connection with Nature: India's reverence for nature is woven into its cultural fabric. Taking leisurely walks in green spaces, practicing yoga outdoors, or simply meditating under a tree can reconnect you with the natural world. This practice not only improves physical health through fresh air and movement but also rejuvenates the spirit.
Festivals and Celebrations: When we were young, Diwali meant a celebration with our entire friends & family including our most distant relatives. India's diverse festivals bring communities together in a celebration of life, traditions, and unity. Participating in these festivals fosters a sense of belonging and shared identity. The joy and camaraderie experienced during these events can have a positive impact on mental health, reducing feelings of isolation and promoting a sense of happiness.
Daily Prayers & Chanting Mantras: It is customary in a Hindu household to light a ghee diya and offer incense sticks while performing aarti every evening. Chanting mantras or sacred sounds can have a calming effect on the mind, reducing stress and promoting inner tranquility and the calming aroma of incense sticks removes negativity or blockages from your life.
Our traditions and rituals make us unique. They serve as the foundation of a strong value system that guides us on the path of righteousness and nurtures noble qualities. They help us find our true identity and create a feeling of belongingness. Our brand Prabhu Shriram was conceived for the bigger purpose of spreading happiness and peace of mind in today’s chaotic world.
Each fragrance has been curated after thorough scientific research to eliminate negative energies from your life & your house as a whole. Experience fragrances

Personal: New GenZ Friend Arrived Safe
I had to stay up for a Thursday morning appointment to meet my new Doctor. He seems nice and we vibe okay so far. We just focused on blood work today. I'm going to go back once a month for the next three months to focus on one area each since my case file is basically the collected works of Thomas Aquinas in size and even with my beloved previous GP's help, no one can get up to speed all at once. It turned out we'd missed a test a couple of weeks ago and I needed an extra vial taken today. All of this took the whole morning for obvious reasons.
Which would have been fine except a very nice addition to the friemnd group was arriving today and the ride to go pick them up fell through. Techie Millenial called me and rightly so, so we went to pick them up. This is the person who visted around last Diwali and fitted in right away. Seriously, they are a delight and weren't safe in their state any more. Trans Overground railroad got them out and they have an apartment with a roomate I am told is cool lined up and are staying with Tecie and Art millenial for a week until they can move into new the new digs.
The problem is the pain situation has been escalating to the point where Extreme pain wakes me and then i have to figure out how to roll over with only 2/3rds of my body working and the "I just got run over by a bus" level pain involved in shifting positions, which does not make for restful sleep. This is the kind of pain able bodied people would be in the hospital for, but here I am at home trying to shuffle around and somehow feed myself and beasts. (hospital would be no good. I don't want a drug seeking note in my file and the kind of medication this would require would make me trip balls. It's a big risk, because people in my family with this reaction to opiods also respond this way to anti-psychotics. I've never tried them, but you get someone with extreme paranoia, another side effect of the opiod reaction, who is having an obvious psychotic break, they are apt to give them anti-psychotics, which is a viscious circle. It was lucky they summoned me to the east Coast my Mother's second to last time in the ICU or they would have shipped her to a psch ward instead of tapering her meds, at which point she was fine except for the whole lungs failing thing. New doctor wouldn't know to stop them and they might not listen to Techie Millenial who is Officially in Charge if I can't speak for myself. Note to self: Next month explain my weird inherited response to opiods to New Doctor). Before you start suggesting things, trust me, I've tried all the mitigation I can reasonably do. What I really need is accupuncture which I can't afford. Instead i just have to endure thisand keep chipping away until i'm back to my usual pain scale 6-7 which is a functional level of pain. This in not.
Bonus points? My right front break started to grind while I was taking Techie and new GenZ back to their place. I have no money except the gas money they slipped me and an emergancy tener for meds. (I have my food OTC left and no EBT even.) I've scheduled with honest Mechanic for May 1st. I can already see next month's bill money draining away, but that is a next month problem. Sigh.
Today would have been a great day to order delivery food. Instead I stood weeping in the kitchen because there was an electrical issue and the air fryer wouldn't work. (Squirrel solved it).
I am so glad we got GenZ out of that hell state though. They never knew how tense and constantly braced for attack they were until they came here. I know that feeling. My whole body used to relax whenever I crossed the Rockies and the PNW has felt like home since I first stepped off the train all those decade ago.

Seizing the Festive Moment: Why Diwali is Ideal for Investing in App Development
Diwali, the festival of lights, is not just a time for celebration and family gatherings; it's also a golden opportunity for businesses to enhance their digital presence. As one of the most significant shopping seasons in India, Diwali brings about a surge in online shopping and mobile usage. For businesses looking to capitalise on this festive spirit, investing in app development during this time can yield significant benefits.
Here’s why this Diwali is the ideal moment for your business to embrace with mobile app development company in India.
1. Surge in Online Shopping
The festive season witnesses a notable spike in online shopping, with consumers eager to purchase gifts, apparel, electronics, and home decor. In recent years, this trend has only intensified, with more people preferring the convenience of shopping from their mobile devices. By investing in a mobile app during Diwali, businesses can tap into this wave of online shopping, providing customers with a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience.
A well-designed app allows customers to browse products easily, receive notifications about festive discounts, and make purchases with just a few clicks. By enhancing the shopping experience, businesses can not only boost sales but also increase customer loyalty, as users are likely to return to a platform that offers convenience and reliability.
2. Increased Mobile Usage
As smartphone penetration continues to rise in India, the mobile app market is thriving. With a significant portion of the population relying on their mobile devices for shopping and social interactions, developing an app during Diwali can help businesses reach a broader audience. Mobile apps are particularly advantageous as they provide personalised experiences, making it easier for businesses to engage with customers through push notifications, exclusive offers, and in-app promotions.
During Diwali, when people are actively searching for the best deals and products, having an app ensures that your business stays top of mind. It’s an opportunity to create a direct line of communication with your customers, enhancing their shopping experience and driving sales.
3. Capitalising on Festive Promotions
Diwali is synonymous with shopping festivals, and businesses can leverage this time to launch attractive promotional campaigns. By developing a mobile app, companies can easily integrate features that allow them to promote special offers, festive discounts, and limited-time deals directly to their customers.
In-app promotions can include features such as loyalty programs, referral bonuses, and festive bundles that encourage users to make purchases. The ability to send timely notifications about flash sales or new arrivals keeps customers engaged and eager to return to the app, ultimately boosting sales and customer retention.
4. Stand Out from the Competition
As more businesses recognise the value of having a mobile app, the competition is becoming increasingly fierce. By launching an app during the Diwali season, businesses can differentiate themselves from competitors who may not have invested in mobile technology yet. A unique and user-friendly app can set a brand apart, creating a memorable shopping experience that customers are more likely to share with friends and family.
Incorporating features such as augmented reality (AR) for virtual try-ons, personalised recommendations based on user behavior, and interactive content can further enhance the app's appeal, making it a standout choice for consumers during the festive season.
5. Future-Proof Your Business
Investing in app development during Diwali not only addresses immediate needs but also positions your business for long-term success. As consumer preferences continue to shift toward mobile-first experiences, having a dedicated app can be a crucial asset for future growth. By laying the groundwork now, businesses can adapt to changing market dynamics and stay relevant in an increasingly digital landscape. This Diwali, businesses have a unique opportunity to seize the festive moment by investing in app development. With the surge in online shopping, increased mobile usage, and the potential for attractive promotional campaigns, a mobile app can significantly enhance customer engagement and drive sales. By embracing this festive season as a launching pad for digital transformation, businesses can ensure they not only meet current demands but also thrive in the future. Eco-Friendly Diwali Return Gifts: Sustainable Options for a Greener Festival
Introduction to Diwali and the tradition of giving return gifts
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a time for celebration, joy, and togetherness. Families come together to share meals, light diyas, and exchange gifts. One cherished tradition during this festive season is giving return gifts to friends and loved ones as a token of appreciation for their presence in our lives. However, as we embrace the spirit of Diwali with open hearts, it’s also essential to consider the impact our choices have on the environment. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness about sustainable living and eco-friendly practices. This shift in mindset encourages us to make thoughtful decisions that honor both our traditions and the planet. With sustainability at the forefront of many conversations today, why not extend this ethos into your Diwali celebrations? Choosing eco-friendly Diwali return gifts doesn’t just align with modern values; it also enriches your festival experience by promoting mindfulness and connection with nature. Let’s explore some innovative options that can help you celebrate this vibrant occasion while making a positive environmental impact.
The importance of sustainability and eco-friendliness in modern times
Sustainability is no longer a buzzword; it’s a necessity. As the planet faces unprecedented challenges, eco-friendliness has become crucial in our daily lives. Our choices directly impact the environment and future generations. Modern lifestyles often come with a hefty carbon footprint. This reality calls for conscious decisions that prioritize sustainability over convenience. By embracing eco-friendly practices, we can reduce waste and conserve precious resources. Moreover, consumers today are more aware than ever of their purchasing power. They seek brands that reflect their values—those committed to ethical production and sustainable materials. Incorporating sustainability into our celebrations enhances the joy of festivities like Diwali. It transforms traditional practices into meaningful moments while fostering a sense of responsibility towards the Earth and its inhabitants.
Benefits of choosing sustainable options for Diwali return gifts
Choosing sustainable options for Diwali return gifts offers a multitude of benefits that resonate on both personal and environmental levels. First and foremost, these gifts embody the spirit of giving while also promoting eco-friendliness. By selecting items made from natural or recycled materials, you contribute to reducing waste and minimizing your carbon footprint. Furthermore, opting for sustainable gifts often means supporting local artisans and businesses. This fosters community growth and keeps traditional crafts alive. Every purchase becomes an investment in craftsmanship rather than mass-produced goods that may harm the environment. Sustainable returns can also create lasting memories for recipients. Gifts like handmade soaps, potted plants, or reusable kitchenware not only serve a purpose but also encourage a lifestyle shift towards sustainability. Recipients appreciate thoughtful choices that reflect care for their well-being as well as the planet's health. Additionally, many eco-friendly products are designed to last longer than conventional alternatives. This durability reduces the need for frequent replacements—a win-win situation for both your wallet and Mother Earth. By embracing sustainable Diwali return gifts, you're not just celebrating a festival; you're making a statement about values that matter today more than ever—values rooted in love, respect, and responsibility towards our planet. As we light up our homes with diyas this festive season, let's illuminate paths toward greener choices together.

Meta Business Manager Introduces Festival-Specific Posting Feature: A New Era in Smart Social Media Marketing
Meta is taking significant steps to enhance the user experience and improve engagement for businesses across India. If you’re managing your social media accounts through Meta Business Manager, you may have noticed a new, thoughtful addition that rolled out this festive season—a prompt specifically suggesting a post for the Dussehra festival on October 12, 2024. This innovative feature is not just about scheduling regular content anymore; it marks a shift towards context-aware, culturally-relevant social media marketing.
In this Blog Satej Infotech Pvt Ltd a Social media Marketing Services Company In Kolhapur discusses the latest in the Social Media World.
Read below to get new updates:
Local Festivals Recognized on a Global Platform
For years, Facebook and Instagram have been powerful platforms for businesses to reach local and global audiences. However, with this new update, Meta is going beyond simply being a content-sharing tool—it’s becoming a smart assistant that understands cultural contexts. This Dussehra-specific prompt signifies Meta’s growing ability to recognize local festivals, events, and occasions, particularly in countries like India, where festivals are integral to social life.
Meta’s intelligent algorithms now seem to detect key Indian festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, and Eid, and prompt users to take action, ensuring businesses are not missing out on engaging with their audience on these critical cultural moments.
How This Feature Works
Meta Business Manager is commonly used to schedule posts across both Facebook and Instagram, allowing businesses to manage their presence on these platforms seamlessly. The new feature works by automatically recognizing upcoming significant dates—like Dussehra—and offering an option to quickly create and schedule a relevant post, Reel, or story.
For example, on the week leading up to Dussehra, a notification or prompt would appear on the Meta Business Manager dashboard, encouraging businesses to create festive content. This smart nudge not only helps brands stay relevant but also saves time, eliminating the need for manual festival-related post reminders.
You can expect Meta to roll out similar prompts for other Indian festivals and regional events, ensuring brands are consistently engaging with their audience during culturally significant times.
Why This Matters for Businesses
India is home to a rich cultural heritage where festivals often serve as perfect opportunities for brands to connect with consumers. Whether it’s a small business wishing to increase engagement or a major brand planning a large-scale festive campaign, the new Dussehra post suggestion highlights Meta’s smart capabilities in understanding local market needs.
Festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, and Eid trigger high consumer spending and engagement. By prompting businesses to create posts for such festivals, Meta is helping brands tap into the emotional connection that people have with these cultural events. It’s a chance for businesses to showcase their products in a festive light, share greetings, or run promotions aligned with the celebratory mood.
The Rise of AI and Smart Suggestions in Meta
This update reflects a broader trend in the evolution of Meta’s AI-driven algorithms. Over the past few years, we’ve seen Facebook and Instagram become smarter with targeted ads, personalized content suggestions, and advanced insights. The Dussehra post suggestion is another example of how Meta’s AI is becoming more intuitive and aware of local contexts.
By recognizing not just global events but also hyper-local ones, Meta demonstrates its commitment to making social media marketing easier, more relevant, and timely for its users in every region. This is particularly important for businesses in India, where acknowledging festivals can significantly impact brand visibility and customer loyalty.
Conclusion
Meta’s latest update, prompting users to create posts for local festivals like Dussehra, signals the platform’s continued efforts to stay ahead of the curve in smart social media marketing. It highlights the potential of AI in recognizing key cultural moments and enhancing engagement opportunities for businesses. As the platform continues to evolve, businesses can expect more sophisticated features that will help them stay culturally relevant while saving time and effort in the process.
If you’re a business owner or marketer in India, this feature is an exciting step forward. It’s time to embrace Meta’s smart tools and leverage them for creating meaningful connections during important cultural events.
