Bask in the Aromatic Splendor of Kona Coffee
On the western shore of Hawai’i, you’ll find the town of Kailua-Kona. Not far from town, you’ll find a number of renowned Kona coffee farms—all on the gentle volcanic slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa. It’s these volcanic slopes, along with the climate, that give Kona coffee its distinctive characteristics.
Imagine a freshly brewed cup of Kona coffee fright from the farm. While you can enjoy a cup of Kona coffee at home, enjoying it at the source is an experience unto itself. It’s not just about the coffee. You get to learn a bit of history, too.
Dive deeper into this history at the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival. The event is Hawai’i’s oldest food festival, and it’s built on the idea of showcasing the history of Kona coffee, which has been cultivated for over 200 years.
Venture Into the Universe at Mauna Kea Observatory
Mauna Kea is the highest point in Hawai’i. On top of this dormant volcano, you’ll find the Mauna Kea Observatory, where you can enjoy some of the best stargazing in the world. It’s the perfect opportunity to get lost in the stars as you and your family. You can spend the evening, from sunset well into the night, taking it all in.

See the Birth of the World at Mauna Loa
Hawai’i is an island of extremes, and one of those extremes is Mauna Loa. Unlike Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa is an active volcano. Although the volcano isn’t currently erupting, the surrounding Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is a stark reminder of the power of Mother Nature.
Mauna Loa last erupted in 2022 and is known for its dramatic plumes of lava. Today, you can explore the park and see what you might call the birth of the world. The lava rock is some of the youngest rock on the planet.
World-Class Golf, Just Steps Away
Hawai’i may be home to all kinds of natural wonders, but it’s also home to world-class golfing. Golfing is a different way to experience the island—and it’s an experience you can indulge in just steps away from your luxury vacation house rentals.
A round of golf on the Hualalai Golf Course, a championship course, can weave together incredible views with incredible weather on a meticulously manicured 18-hole course. The course takes you through coastal vistas to lava beds with plenty of lush greenery in between.

Couple in Their 70s Refinances Their Existing Investment Property To Release Cash.
How We Helped
On advice from their trusted attorney, they were also hoping to increase their LTV to mitigate U.S. inheritance tax and convert their current rental mortgage into an interest-only to increase their yield.
The property was an impressive six-bed family home in Vail, Colorado. The couple had purchased the house over 20 years ago when living and working in the U.S.
The pair were looking to reduce their credit card debt and help their son purchase a home in Singapore.
In total, they were looking to raise $300,000. They had requested a five-year fixed rate on interest-only terms. The clients felt that their advanced age and low income would decrease the finance options available.
The clients were not current on their U.S. tax filings for their rental property, were in their late 70s, and had sufficient but not well-documented income.
As a significant amount of their income was based on future contracts, but their cash-flow was sufficient to service their debt, we suggested our FNStated program, enabling the borrowers to qualify for a higher LTV based on projected income and net rental income from the property.
Age wasn’t a factor, as it is illegal to discriminate against age in the U.S. America Mortgage was able to structure a 30 year amortized mortgage with a 5-year interest-only period giving the needed $300,000 cash in hand and reducing their monthly debt servicing by 13%, thus increasing their yield.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grand Hyatt Vail offers the best of both worlds for skiers in search of a convenient and luxurious stay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grand Hyatt Vail offers 285 guest rooms and suites with sophisticated decor and luxurious bathrooms. We had a terrace room with a view of the mountains and the sounds of the babbling brook. The property underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2018, so all aspects of the hotel look and feel elevated.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boasting an unbeatable location just steps away from the world-class runs of Vail Ski Resort, the ski-in, ski-out Grand Hyatt Vail offers visitors a premier lodging experience. The Grand Hyatt Vail ski rental shop (also called Venture Sports) is connected to the property. As part of the luxury ski-in, ski-out experience, you'll be greeted with toasty boots next to a fireplace. They'll even carry your skis to and from the chair lift.
Grand Hyatt Vail also features a heated pool, two alfresco hot tubs, and multiple fire pits. Our room was located close to one of the hot tubs, and we took full advantage of it during our stay. After a day of skiing, a hot tub under the stars was the perfect way to relax our muscles.

--------
Grand Hyatt Vail is home to two onsite restaurants: Gessner and Yoshimi Pop-Up.
Gessner
Grand Hyatt Vail's signature restaurant, Gessner. is an alpine-inspired fine dining experience. New Executive Chef Pascal Coudouy flawlessly showcases a reimagined menu for the winter season while highlighting the authentic flavors of the Rockies. With an atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy lodge and a chef-driven menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients, guests can expect to enjoy delicious dishes while admiring the elegant design of the restaurant.
Some notable items worth mentioning:
s'mores espressotini- a fun rendition of a childhood fav for those 21+
truffle risotto- a specialty dish that was an option for the night. (If it isn't available, the duck croquette is also worth sharing.)
chef's duck- this was also one of the specials for the night
baked vail- pinecone shaped bittersweet chocolate ice cream, flambéed meringue, graham cracker crumble, chocolate sauce. Simply divine!

Buy Luxury Fractional Ownership at Timbers Bachelor Gulch | Second Home Vail
Blog Introduction: Have you ever wanted to experience luxury living without the full commitment of ownership? Then fractional ownership is for you! At Timbers Bachelor Gulch, you can buy fractional ownership in a luxurious vacation home and enjoy all the benefits that come with ownership. Let’s take a look at what fractional ownership entails and why it’s worth considering if you want to own a piece of paradise.
What is Fractional Ownership? Fractional Ownership allows individuals to buy shares in an expensive asset, such as a vacation home or yacht. These shares give the owners certain rights and privileges associated with owning part of the asset, such as access to its amenities and usage rights. Unlike traditional timeshares, which are typically sold in weeks or months, fractional ownerships are usually sold in 1/4th or 1/8th shares and last for several years. This gives owners more time to enjoy their vacations without being bound by specific dates or times.
Why Should You Consider Fractional Ownership? Fractional ownership offers many advantages over traditional vacation homes. For starters, shared ownership means that there are multiple people responsible for maintaining the property so it stays in top condition over time. Additionally, since each party owns one part of the property, they don’t have to worry about managing all aspects of it individually—such as tax payments and repairs—which makes it easier to manage overall costs associated with owning a luxury vacation home. Plus, since these properties are usually located in desirable areas like ski resorts or beachfront locations, owners can enjoy these beautiful destinations without having to spend too much money on accommodations.
At Timbers Bachelor Gulch, we offer fractional ownership opportunities for our guests who want to own a piece of their dream destination without having to commit fully to purchasing their own home outright. Our team will work with you every step of the way from deciding on your investment amount and preferred share size to helping you customize your stay based on your individual needs and preferences. And with multiple units available across our portfolio of properties around North America—including ski-in/ski-out condos at Vail Mountain—you're sure to find something that fits within your budget!
Conclusion:
When it comes down to it, fractional ownership is an excellent option for those who want all the luxuries associated with owning their own vacation home but don’t want all the hassle (or expense) that comes along with it. At Timbers Bachelor Gulch, we make sure that each owner gets exactly what they need out of their luxury rental experience while providing them with flexibility and convenience in return. So if you’re looking for an affordable yet luxurious way to own a piece of paradise, look no further than Timbers Bachelor Gulch! 4 Epic Rocky Mountain Destinations Where You Can Experience a Season of Snow
Can you feel a slight chill in the air? It may still be summer, but it won’t be long before snow starts to fall across the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Mountain towns like Aspen and Vail will bustle with wintry delight. Ski resorts will start to open their slopes. A whole new season of adventure will begin.
There are premier destinations throughout the Colorado Rocky Mountains that seem to take on a seasonal glow as the snow falls—and you can experience them for yourself. From the exceptional accommodations in Aspen to an unbeatable experience at Vail luxury rentals, here are a few Colorado destinations where you can experience the season of snow.
Tumblr media
Experience Quintessential Colorado in Aspen
For many winter wanderers, Aspen is the quintessential Colorado destination. When the snow begins to fall—and when it falls in earnest—the town starts to buzz with bundled-up activity. In Aspen itself, you can experience some of the finest dining the region has to offer. If you love to shop, or know someone who does, you can also find a number of world-class boutiques.
Around Aspen, you can also find several ski resorts—and a seemingly endless array of slopes. If you time your arrival to Aspen just right, you can take advantage of the fresh powder and leave your mark as you fly down the mountain.
Explore the Resort Village of Beaver Creek
Unlike other, more well-known Rocky Mountain towns like Aspen or Telluride, Beaver Creek is more of an intimate resort village. However, once the snow starts to fall, Beaver Creek can take on a new personality as winter enthusiasts arrive to test their skills on the mountain.
Beaver Creek Resort is home to well-groomed slopes and black diamond skiing and snowboarding. If you, too, want to test yourself and try something new this snowy season, Beaver Creek is one Rocky Mountain destination that’s calling your name.
Tumblr media
Ski Forever in Telluride
No matter where you venture around Telluride, you’ll find incredible views. From the balconies of the luxury rentals Telluride has to offer to the ski slopes nearby, views abound. Come the first snow of the season, the views can transform in an instant, turning Telluride into a genuine winter wonderland.
This winter wonderland is home to seemingly endless skiing. Many luxury rentals around Telluride feature ski-in/ski-out accommodations. It’s an amenity you can find in Aspen, Beaver Creek, and Vail, too! As the snowpack accumulates at the mountain resorts around Telluride, you can ski to your heart’s content.
Get Lost in the Beauty of Vail
Every mountain town and resort in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is surrounded by natural beauty. For some, however, Vail represents a pinnacle of mountain majesty. Vail is known for epic views every season. As the snow begins to fall, these epic views only magnify. There’s something special about snow-covered scenery.
Tumblr media
Once the snow settles, you can enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride to experience your surroundings in a completely new way. Or you can go snowshoeing. Or simply slip into an outdoor hot tub and let the views of the snowy Rocky Mountains wash over you.

Banff July 2022
Friday, July 8
Up early, another rainy start to the day, but as we’ve seen, the weather changes rapidly in Vancouver. We put on our rain jackets for the 2 block walk to the train station (I had to wear my new cowboy boots as well because there was no extra room for shopping in myself suitcase!).
Quick and easy ride to the train, check in for Air Canada was easy - long security line with some different rules - fanatical about having liquids bagged (they don’t seem to care about that anymore in the US or Europe). My carry on backpack was sent into the flagged line, where I had to wait a bit, only to have the guy feel around inside and ask me where I was going and how long was I staying in Canada. We had an hour before our flight was to board, so we had a so-so airport breakfast. About a 90-minute flight to Calgary, where we claimed our checked bags and picked up a rental car without incident!
Immediately, we felt like we were in Colorado - big highways, endless suburban track homes and mountains in the distance. We stopped at a Safeway (as we do out west!) for groceries, beer and wine, sandwiches for lunch and Starbucks Frappuccinos. Then we headed towards the mountains. Usually, the sight of mountains fills me with joy, but I must confess, I was still feeling down that we weren’t canoeing on the Yukon River today. I’ll get over that soon I guess.
We were traveling on highway #1 - the TransCanadian Highway, and we recalled how miserable we’d been cycling along it in Ontario back in 2013 on the completion of our cross country trip. Much better to be traveling in a SUV with tunes and navigational assistance! The terrain became increasingly more beautiful with snow capped peaks everywhere. Just before we got to Banff, we entered the Canadian National Park, and everyone entering needed a park pass - interesting! Since we’d obtained ours a few days ago, we took the bypass lane and didn’t need to wait in line.
After about 90 minutes, we took the first Banff exit and found our accommodations, The Buffalo Mountain Lodge. It was about 1pm and the room wasn’t going to be ready until 3p, so we headed down the mountain to check out the village of Banff.
Banff was pretty much as I’d expected - lots of tourists and shopping. There are several ski areas here, but they seem to be a bit out of town - I’d expected to be at the foot of the main ski area (like Vail). We parked in a parking garage and walked the street, stopping in an information building to pick up ideas for activities to keep us busy during our week here. We crossed the Bow River and checked out the “Cascade of Time Garden,” surrounding a really cool park administration building. We walked back, through 3 solid blocks of shopping, tourists and restaurants. Then we found our car and went back up Tunnel Mountain to our resort. We got settled in our room, happy that we’ll be here 7 nights which is rare for us - we’re usually on the move after three nights or so!
We headed to the resort restaurant, The Prow (name of a rock ledge), where we had a fabulous bottle of Canadian wine, a great dinner with dessert, and lovely conversations with our waitress. From her, we learned that summer is late in coming to the Canadian Rockies this year, and she said many of the higher trails will be closed due to avalanche danger! We weren’t really sure what we’d be hiking in the coming days, but we took her advisement seriously.
We took the remainder of our wine back to our room, and broke out our cribbage board for the first time this trip. Our room has a wood-burning fireplace, but it didn’t seem cold enough for a fire tonight. Jeff dominated the cribbage, so the tide has turned. Stay tuned.
