placebo effect
✱ boyfriend!bc × fem!reader
— maybe the actual remedy is his smile.
w.count → 1.2k genre → fluff warnings → reader is sick :(, mild cussing, kissing, cute pet names (baby, love, princess) and generally very much in love it makes me sick >:( heh a.n → based on this request! kinda speeding through this (immediately worked on this after i posted the last fic), but i am in need of just pure fluff so here we are, a few hours later. heh♡ ⋆ see masterlist
being sick felt like shit.
growing up, you’ve always been the kid with perfect attendance. be it in school or throughout uni, you’ve always made the effort to attend every single one of your classes—and one of the reasons was all because you rarely ever got sick. maybe it’s because of your parents’ good genes, or likely due to how your mom made sure you always took your daily vitamins, but you’re always known as one the healthiest kids in the class.
that record, however, ended after you graduated a few years back.
you’d like to blame it the shift of environment—you know, given that you literally flew thousands of miles away to chase your lifelong dream, but considering you also moved states away from home for uni… that likely wasn’t the case.
“hey there, sleepyhead.”
a soft groan rolled off your lips when you felt your bed dip to your boyfriend’s weight, his fingers gently ran through your surely messy hair. your attempt to crack a peek at chris wasn’t quite a success, considering how even the slightest bleeding light from the gap behind your curtain was quick to trigger the soft throb in your head to return, fetching another set of low whimpers out of you.
“it’s okay, baby. i’m here. how’s your headache?” he hummed; pads of his fingers now gently pressed against the base of your head as he attempted to relief any pain that might still linger.
chris, your angel of a boyfriend, had been taking care of you since your condition started to decline the day prior. despite your stubbornness about still going to work (which didn’t end well, considering you were sent home by lunch anyway), chris didn’t even peep a word and readily picked you up from work, all geared up with your favorite porridge and cold medicine he picked up on the way.
“it’s fine as long as i don’t open my eyes,” you meekly answered, voice still noticeably very different from your usual cheery ones. “which reminds me, we do need a black out curtain, hun.”
his chuckle filled the rather quiet bedroom, involuntarily tugging the corner of your pale lips into a smile. “we’ll get them after you’re all better, baby,” he assured, hand that rested on the back of your neck now pressed against your forehead, “fever’s pretty much gone. think you could sit up for a bit? gotta fill your tummy with food before the meds, love.”
you know he’s right—you do need to eat, but with the way you’re currently feeling, protesting at any request to shift your body was the only available option.
“can i just eat later?” you pursed your lips, attempting to appeal your plea with a dash of cuteness you knew chris have a hard time standing his ground against. “maybe sleeping more will help…”
“nuh uh, no can do, princess,” chris gently tapped his finger on the tip of your nose, “you need the meds. the food too, but most importantly your meds. i don’t want your suffering to prolong just because you didn’t get your meds on time,” he reasoned, pads of his fingers now gently massaging the top of your head and in turn made you sigh in relief. chris always knew what to do whenever you complained about a headache, and you’re grateful for that.
“fiiine,” you exaggerated, reaching out your arms as a signal for chris to help you up. even with your eyes closed, you knew he had that proud grin etched on his lips when he gently pulled you to sit straight. you winced at the ache, but voiced no complaint as chris planted a light kiss on your scrunched forehead.
“a sec, okay? i’ll bring the radish soup for you,” chris left another kiss on the top of your head, grinning at how excitedly you reacted to the kind of food he had prepared before you heard his disappearing footsteps.
you forced a peek around the room, noticing the dim lighting as chris kept the curtains closed for your comfort. after a quick scan of your and chris’ bedroom, one you’ve been spending a little too much time in for the past couple of days, your line of sight then rested upon your locked phone. a single tap on the screen, and the action easily made your brows furrow.
“babe—”
“chris, it’s 10am on a thursday,” you pointed out as soon as you heard his voice from just beyond the slightly ajar door, “didn’t you say things has been hectic lately?”
“well, yeah,” he shrugged, careful footsteps finally returned to your side, followed by the dip on your bed, “but you’re sick. getting you back to health is a lot more important to me than anything else.”
“christopher,” you groaned, pursing your lips in protest, “i told you to not do things like this! you’re important, what you do is important. you can’t let me stop you from doing all that!”
“but i’m not letting you,” he replied nonchalantly, blowing on the spoonful of soup and rice before he feeds you. “it is my decision. i want to take care of you, and nothing is more important for me than you. as simple as that.”
“but—”
“no more discussion on that matter, baby,” chris warned you, stern gaze immediately shutting off any complaints about to leave your tongue. “it’s on me. you’re my girlfriend, and to take care of you is what i need to do, because i love you and i want all the best for you. okay?”
maybe it’s the fever returning, but you could feel your cheeks warming up.
“…fine.”
with his lips blooming into a content smile, his hand returned to the steady flow of bowl-cooling off-feeding you. he’s happy, and it’s apparent through the way his gaze lingers on you every time you take another bite, slowly finishing the bowl of food in his hand.
maybe it’s your head fooling you with some kind of placebo effect, but you do feel better—simply by watching the tenderness in his face every time he looks at you.
“all done,” he cheerily announced after you took your last bite, gently wiping the corners of your lips with the pad of his thumb. “be back with the meds, okay? just a sec.”
his movements immediately ceased when he felt a tug on the t-shirt he’s wearing, eyes immediately returning to you in worry. “yes, love?”
you quietly looked at him, suddenly feeling a little shy—but why would you be?
“…you.”
“huh?” chris blinked, head involuntarily tilted to one side in confusion. “what was that, love?”
oh god.
“i really wanna kiss you,” you reiterated, lips slightly pursed in embarrassment, “but i don’t want you to catch the cold. but like—you’re just so adorable. why are you like this? i’m—"
any thoughts you had immediately vaporized as soon as you felt chris’ soft lips on yours—smile apparent against your lips. his warm hand gently cradled your cheek, and despite it being short, chris successfully left you feeling dazed.
“…wait,” you eventually blinked, face burning in embarrassment when you realized the cheeky grin he’s sporting just inches away from your face. “christopher! you’re gonna get sick!”
“well, what do you expect me to do?” chris shrugged as he walked backwards, away from you,
“my girlfriend said she wanted to kiss me—how could i say no to that?”
“gosh—christopher!”

Kenny Omega (During training)
Kenny heard a small crack and immediately picked you up
Does not allow you to re-enter the ring and takes you to the doctor
Looks up home remedies to help you
Understands that you’re angry and tries to figure out ways to relieve you
“Do you want a coloring sheet? No, I don’t think you’re a child- okay now you’re acting like one…Yeah-uh”
Tells you stories about when he broke his (I can’t remember if he did) or his friends broke theirs
He tries to distract you from the pain by his jokes or practicing promos in front of you
Will intentionally mess up for you to smile
Kenny’s really upset that you’re injured but tries to brighten your day by any means possible
Eddie Kingston (Your opponent intentionally injured you)
I feel like I always say this…..EDDIE IS BIG MAD
Eddie is big on respect…he’ll respect you as long as you respect him and those he keeps close to him
Once he saw the ref throw up the X sign, oh Penta and Fenix had to hold him back from going to the ring
Then he saw your bloody face….he started to cuss out your opponent
And then he cussed out Kenny and the Bucks for allowing someone with bad blood to go against you
Will drive you personally to the hospital cause he needs to lay eyes on you
He’s ticking in so much anger that you’ll need to calm him down
“I’m fine doll, I just hate how a shithead couldn’t contain their displeasure to themselves. On the bright side, you still looked like a god/goddess....betta than their hating ass”
Santana (You took an extreme bump in the ring)
You took a facebuster on the ladder and then bounced off, rolling outside of the ring
Listen, this man would be the one to stop watching your match just out of fear (he hates you getting hurt)
Like he physically cannot watch the match anymore
Once he saw blood dripping down your face, he automatically asked for the match to be stopped or at least for you to stop participating
When you come backstage, he automatically hugs you as he doesn’t care about the blood on his shirt
“Mi amor, you scared me out there…I thought I had to go jail while you go to the hospital”
You have to hold him back from cursing out your opponent(s)
Distracts you with food and cuddles (DONT @ ME)
Wheeler Yuta (Your opponent accidentally injured you)
Baby boy is sad
He just looks like someone knocked the wind out of him; he hates seeing you bleed
Is subconsciously mad af at your opponent
Will literally baby you for the rest of the day, week, month, hell even year
“You’re not gonna take any more knees to the face. I won’t allow it….NO BIG BOOTS EITHER”
I think he would be the one to buy protective gear for you while Bryan and Mox look on in concern as he picks up everything in the damn store
He thinks that breaking your nose limits all activity and movement for you
Will not let a minute go by without him saying how pretty you are (with and without a straight nose)
Hook (Someone was trying to fight him and they hit you)
Okay…… man is literally the devil
Will make sure that you are okay before tossing the person over his head
He is punching the shit out of them until he looks over at you and sees blood
Hook gives one more punch before carrying you to a safe corner
He immediately gets you ice before taking you to the doctor
Feels guilty about you getting hit, mentally beats himself up
“I’m so sorry that I allowed that to happen.”
I truly do think that Hook would feel so bad and will try his best to make it up to you in any way possible
Will buy flowers, bears, food, a nerf gun (whatever your heart desires)
Ricky Starks (You hit a door)
Imma be honest….he laughed at you
Like full-on cackled as soon as you made contact with the door (it sounded like an evil witch)
But stopped once he saw blood pouring down your face
Feels like a jackass as he brings you to the doctor (I also think he is saying sorry repeatedly)
Once he hears the word surgery, he offers to pay for it
As your spirit starts to pick up and you feel like yourself after the initial wave of shock
Ricky will go back to laughing at you
Will joke about your nose only when you're comfortable and accepting of the fact
“It’s not my fault you got your ass kicked by a damn door”
Christian Cage (A fan threw something at you)
He’s suing and kicking out the bastard who threw the object at you during the meet-and-greet
Tells security to get him and sends Luchasuarus for extra support
He immediately shuts down his booth and walks you to medical support
Sends a tweet that calls out people who think that was cool and okay
“You’re a disappointment, no wonder your father left you”
Holds you and whispers caring thoughts that only you can hear
Buys anything and everything you need (already paid for the surgery)
Offers to buy a security squad so you can protect yourself

In the Realm of Mythos that is Kyuushi's Earth, home to Humans and creatures of Myth and Legend both, there are illnesses and diseases unique to Mythos beings. Some of them are able to affect many different Species, while others are even more specifically only linked to a single species. Some further still are able to affect many species, but has different variations unique to different individual ones where the symptoms are slightly different.
One such is known as Vulpis Inordinatio Magicae, or VIM. An extremely rare illness that can plague members of the Kitsune Species. The cause is unknown, and it's severity and symptoms can vary wildly. It's most commonly believe to be a loss of balance in one's Aether, causing the victim to lose control of their magicks. Though some believe it is an indiscriminate and persistent curse of some kind that simply roams the world before latching onto a victim.
In it's most mundane state, the illness will cause the Kitsune's Magicks to become unreliable. Some of their Magicks will simply not work, while others will ignore the Kitsune's command or act oddly. It will also cause headaches, nausea, and numbness in the limbs. Usually it will take between 1-3 weeks to naturally pass, or an influx of Aether from another being can shorten it's duration, if not outright end it. This form is commonly known as VIM Levis.
At it's worst, the illness will entirely distrupt the Kitsune's Magicks. Rendering them unable to wield any Magicks, let alone command their Aether in any way. Migranes, nausea, vertigo, numbness in limbs, dry and sore throat, nose bleeds, and fainting are symptoms that arise with this form. With the vulnerable state the Kitsune is put into, they become susceptible to many Human illnesses that they normally wouldn't be, which can cause an already bad situation to become even worse. Constant care is needed, as this frorm of the illness must run it's course, and will last for 3-4 weeks. This form of the illness is known as VIM Gravis.
However, in even rarer cases, this illness can inflict an even more severe symptom upon the victim. One in which it takes the natural healing Magicks of a Kitsune and, not only stops it, but inverts it entirely. Thus beginning to degrade the Kitsune's body over time, quite literally killing them slowly. Both the Levis and Gravis forms of this illness can suffer this symptom, and if it does befall the unfortunate Kitsune who suffers from either, it is akin to a death sentence.
In such an unfortunate situation, neither form of the illness will naturally pass, nor will any healing spell aid in any form of recovery. The Kitsune suffering from this will have anywhere from a month to a year to live in most cases, and their life will be filled with constant suffering of their very body slowly breaking itself down. It is usually much kinder to end their life before their own Magicks overwhelm them. It is commonly known as VIM Letum whenever a Kitsune is unfortunate enough to experience this symptom.
Due to the similarity in symptoms that are experienced from the Levis and Gravis forms, it is believed that VIM is a variant of a more wide-spread Mythos illness. Magicae Imperium Inordinatio, an illness that causes a loss in control over one's Aether, which can be suffered by any and all Mythos species. MII -pronounced 'my'-, however, does not include the other symptoms that are present in VIM directly. The disturbance in Aether may lead to headaches or nausea in those who suffer from MII, but it is not directly caused by the illness itself.
Though where the difference lies is that while MII is an understood illness, VIM still remains a mystery. The cause, it's origin, remedies, cure, all unknown. Between how rare the illness itself is, how varied it's symptoms and severity are, and the isolated nature of modern Kitsune, it is unlikely that answers will be found. It is unknown how many Kitsune fall victim to VIM, and there are only a few hundred recorded cases of VIM in records from pre-Grand Kitsune records.
Kyuushi's Mother was a victim of VIM Letum. She chose to be a brave, strong willed soul, however, and did her best to persist against the illness for Kyuushi, and in hopes of seeing her Husband again.

We used to get really bad bloody noses. like sometimes sent home because the school nurse didn't know what else to do bad. And it wasn't like oh this happens very rarely but when it does its bad, no i we got a ton of them all the time, of varying levels of intensity. And growing up you get used to a few things 1) The first thing you get used to is well lots of blood falling down out your nose. Despite us generally being squeamish about blood in almost any other context, blood from our nose doesn't freak us out. its as normal as a runny nose to us. 2) You get used to everyone else freaking out and being scared. The amount of times someone has looked in horror as they notice that i started to bleed is too many. 3) you get used to everyone telling you all the remedies, they have heard. Half of which actually exasperate the problem.
4) The taste of blood in your mouth, and the way it makes your throat itchy and dry. 5) People making the bloody nose pervert joke. 6) people telling you to get it fixed, but knowing that it is a genetic thing and most of my family had it reduce as we got older, so never really worried too much about it. and that last part still holds to be true. That being said if it is an especially hot or dry day, or if a lot of stress is caused we can still sometimes get them. But they are now rare occurrences and nowhere near as bad.

@electricea
The more she explained, the more he began to feel reassured that this didn’t seem to be something too serious - not to mention, she seemed to come prepared for when one of these nosebleeds did happen - but it still sounded like a bit of an annoying inconvenience, to have to deal with. Wasn’t there anything she could take? “So, there’s nothing you can do about your nose? Like drink more water or anything…?” He wasn’t really a doctor so he didn’t know what to suggest here. “Or do you just have toget used to it?”
Mukuro gave a little shrug at his questions。
「I just get used to it, I never really bothered looking up any sort of remedies, well-- outside of using a humidifier in my home to keep the air a bit more humid。」 It wasn't an all the time thing or else Mukuro would have looked into it more, and she always tended to keep tissues on her person so that when a nose bleed would strike her, she'd be prepared。
「Sure, it sucks but what more could I do, you know?」

@fromthemouthofkings Yeah, runaway stress and anxiety can do weird things to you sometimes. I recently went through some health problems and like....I was terrified and overthinking most of the time, doom-googling every chance I got. I'd break down crying at doctors appts, I felt like my body was breaking down, I was in and out of the urgent care for a month or so for various things. UTI, Ear infection, Nose was bleeding, arm issues, dental pain. I'd gotten thrush and was so fed up with it I'd started experimenting with home remedies and vitamins and dish washing and diet changes that ultimately made things worse. Checking my mouth with a flashlight multiple timescales day. I was scared of surgery but was sure I was going to need it SOMEHOW, which terrified me more. I wasn't sleeping well at all. I thought if I went to the dental place without having had the surgery they'd ask for, that's all I would hear. Finally I had a breakdown and called my family and friends. I got better, but like...I was willing to try melatonin, benadryl and sleep meds despite having a heart condition and sedation trauma (and a history of benadryl not doin much beyond just making me tired.) Being put on Prozac, cutting out caffeine for a while, and trying to get things back to normal has helped, but...man, runaway fear, stress and trauma is no joke. It can drive you NUTS AND mess up your physical health too. I can see how it makes TERFs Like That because I was kinda Like That about my health earlier this year.
the brainrot of terfism really needs to be studied because it really is something that just consumes people. like there's definitely levels to it and all (and they're all bad, to be clear) but if you look into like the big name terfs, they either stop being terfs or they go insane.
like its becoming commonplace for them to publicly admit that their families have distanced themselves because they can't stop talking about how the scary trans people are ruining everything, or for them to side with actual nazis or pedophiles that just happen to also dislike trans people. or for self professed gay and/or feminist terfs to start advocating for policies that are directly hostile to them because its hostile to trans people too.
and like that's not even getting into the truly deep levels of brainrot when they start transvestigating everyone around them, including sometimes their own parents and themselves. like there are boards and online groups where they will unironically say that they think their parents are trans or had them transed without them knowing, and about how essentially every major celebrity is trans and hiding it.
like its such levels of insanity on par with q anon shit, and someone needs to start looking into that shit because something really does happen to the brain when terfism is entertained and you can't stop thinking that trans people are out to get you.

First, my Temu package arrived. The auspicious incense is much smaller than I thought it would be. I'm not sure I really like it much anyway.
The cleaning sheets are great for the toilets. It's amazing how these flimsy little sheets dissolve instantly and become so soapy once you swish them around with the toilet brush. I haven't used them on the floors or the shower stall yet.
I'll be setting up a “sleep” group so two Alexa devices can play sounds in different parts of the bedroom, hopefully letting me sleep through the mower tomorrow. If they use the loud one again, though, I doubt it’ll do me much good since it runs around two sides of the bedroom and isn’t across the street. Sound permeates manufactured homes so easily! It bleeds through every inch of the windows, walls, ceilings, and floors.
It wasn't overly humid today, but it was still hot.
My pulmonologist appointment went better than I thought it would…I think. We didn't have to wait too long, but damn, did I have a ton of paperwork to go through. I had to answer the same questions multiple times. Even the doctor asked me the same things. The waiting room sucked; the TV was blasting, and the office was close to a busy street. Some of the traffic noise was a bit annoying as well.
The doctor's accent was also a little annoying, but I think I’m getting better at understanding foreign accents. I don't have much choice when every other person isn’t from here anymore—or so it seems.
We discussed both of my sleep disorders, and he asked questions about when they were diagnosed, how they were diagnosed, etc.
Help with the N24 is hopeless, as I figured. But if I can get my energy back, it won’t matter as much. Yes, it will still be a pain in the ass, but I do enjoy the quiet and having some alone time since I like a mix of time with him and time alone. He mostly asked about my sleeping habits, then he looked in my nose and mouth. He said I definitely had sleep apnea from the looks of it, and that home tests often underestimate the severity of it. He also noticed the collapsed septum and agreed I have quite a bit of congestion in my nose.
Turns out I was wrong to cut back on the nasal spray. In addition to restarting that, he recommended a better nasal dilator than the one I’ve got and gave me a sample of a nasal rinse to help clear out my nose.
He also gave me a sleep diary to complete over the next couple of months before I see him again. The diary is to record when I get into bed, when I fall asleep, when I get up, if I’ve had any alcohol or medication, how long I slept, my level of fatigue, and if I napped.
He said one to two hours before bed, I should avoid computers, and three or four hours before bed, avoid alcohol and exercise.
Now here’s where it gets interesting. I told him I couldn’t tolerate the CPAP and asked about a mouthguard. Because of my nasal issues, mostly caused by allergies, he doesn’t think I would benefit from a mouthguard. Therefore, he’s sending me to see an ENT to see about qualifying for the Inspire, which I would love to have as an option. I mean, I would prefer not to have any problems at all, but if I’ve got to have this and something to remedy it, that would be my first choice.
The only negative is that this doctor is part of the ENT group I hate. Another negative is that we would have to go all the way to Clearwater. As usual, it would be multiple trips. I don’t have a problem with making a day of it, as it’s good to get out, but it means dealing with the stress of finding available and working chargers, even though he’s got a service that would tow us if we were to run out of juice. The assholes also got rid of most of the fast chargers, so it would be slow chargers only.
The doctor he referred me to would knock me out, much like I was for the endoscopy, to see how my throat functioned while I slept, which would be way better than having to do an out-of-home sleep study. Propofol is great, LOL.
Anyway, I’m overwhelmed but hopeful.
The redneck’s mutt is getting annoying again. Two barking fits today, one lasting more than just a few barks.

Efficient Steps to Remove Ear Wax Blockage Quickly
Ear wax removal is a crucial aspect of maintaining optimal ear health and ensuring proper hearing function. When faced with ear wax blockage, knowing efficient steps for quick removal becomes essential. Addressing this concern promptly and effectively not only alleviates discomfort but also prevents potential complications. Let's delve into the efficient steps and techniques for swift ear wax removal, ensuring a safe and hassle-free process to regain clear and healthy ears.
Ear wax blockage, though common, can be uncomfortable and affect your hearing. To address it swiftly and safely, consider these steps:
1. Softening the Wax:
Use Ear Drops: Over-the-counter ear drops consisting of mineral oil, glycerin, or hydrogen peroxide can soften the wax. Tilt your head and administer a few drops into the affected ear. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to facilitate wax softening.
2. Gentle Removal Techniques:
Warm Water Rinse: Gently irrigate the ear canal with warm water using a bulb syringe. Tilt your head sideways and pull the outer ear to straighten the canal. Avoid using forceful syringing to prevent discomfort or dizziness.
Consult an ENT Specialist: If home remedies don’t yield results or if you experience pain, consult an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. They can perform ear irrigation using specialized tools for safe and effective wax removal.
3. Precautions for Safe Removal:
Avoid Probing: Refrain from using cotton swabs, bobby pins, or any sharp object in your ear canal. These can push the wax deeper or cause injury.
Seek Professional Assistance: If you have a history of ear issues, a perforated eardrum, or recurrent wax blockages, seek professional guidance for appropriate care.
Tips for Quick Relief:
Be Patient: Allow the ear drops time to soften the wax before attempting removal.
Gentle Maneuvers: During irrigation, be gentle to avoid any potential discomfort or damage.
Regular Check-ups: Consider periodic ear check-ups, especially if you have a tendency for wax buildup.
When to Seek Immediate Medical Attention:
Severe Symptoms: If you experience intense pain, dizziness, or bleeding from the ear.
Persistent Blockage: If the blockage persists despite multiple attempts of at-home remedies.
Previous Ear Issues: If you have a history of ear problems or a perforated eardrum, consult a specialist promptly.
Conclusion
Swiftly addressing ear wax blockage involves softening the wax with drops and using gentle removal techniques like warm water irrigation. Prioritize caution, avoiding any aggressive methods that could lead to injury or further complications. Seeking professional guidance is essential, especially in cases of severe discomfort or recurrent blockages.

Side effects of home teeth whitening kits
Are you thinking about teeth whitening treatment? Well, this is a great technique that can improve the appearance of teeth and enhance your smile. This simple procedure gives satisfactory results.
Today, everyone is conscious of oral health and hygiene. Along with that, there is considerable awareness of appearance and beauty. If you have sparkling white teeth, a great charm is added to your personality.
Home teeth whitening kits are becoming increasingly popular as a way to whiten and brighten teeth. However, some potential side effects should be taken into consideration before using these kits. These include increased sensitivity, gum irritation, and damage to the enamel of the teeth. Additionally, it is important to consult with a dentist before beginning any home teeth whitening regimen to ensure the safety of your oral health.
Teeth whitening procedures are great for achieving great results, but there are some side effects that you should be aware of. In this blog, we will discuss some of the side effects of home teeth whitening methods.
Sensitive teeth may be uncomfortable.
Are your teeth sensitive? This means that you experience pain when eating certain foods or drinks. If yes, then your teeth are sensitive.
In the teeth whitening process, bleaching solutions are applied to the surface of the teeth.
After using this method, it is necessary to ensure that the sensitivity does not increase. If teeth whitening treatment causes increased sensitivity and pain, it means that the procedure is not right for you.
You should never continue this method if you experience these signs. Well, you should visit a dental specialist and get proper whitening treatment. This will reduce risk and increase comfort during the procedure.
If there is a tingling sensation
Do you feel tingling or a mild electric shock after applying the teeth whitening procedure? If yes, that is a warning sign. This means you have some side effects from the bleaching agent.
If you experience sensitivity after using the home teeth whitening kit, discontinue use immediately. You should see a doctor and get proper whitening treatment.
Your doctor will take necessary precautions while prescribing the teeth whitening procedure. This will not cause any damage to the teeth and will give excellent results.
Burning and bleeding
When you are undergoing teeth whitening treatment, you should never experience bleeding or inflamed gums. If you feel that the gums are red and tender, and you see traces of blood after brushing, it is a warning sign.
This means the whitening agent is causing scarring and inflammation in the tooth pulp. There may be cracks or breaks in the teeth, which is causing the problem.
You should stop using the whitening agent immediately if any irritation and burning occur. This means the bleaching agent is too strong. This can cause everlasting damage to the teeth. Sometimes, the effects on the teeth are severe and irreversible.
You should immediately go to the doctor and get it treated. After the inflammation heals, your doctor will prescribe you a suitable teeth whitening agent.
If you have stomach or throat pain
Home teeth whitening kits may contain cleaning agents that irritate the nose, throat, and stomach. It can cause medical complications if you use it for a long period.
Doctors say home teeth whitening kits should be checked for side effects after 48 hours of use. If you notice any alarming signs, it is best to stop using the teeth whitening kit and see a professional for further guidance.
We should not rely on home remedies as much as possible. Always use a whitening procedure prescribed by a qualified doctor. It is good for teeth.
These procedures will harm you and also give ineffective results. The effect of whitening will not last long and you will have to repeat the procedure.

Self-Medication
Popping in pills on your own, for the simplest reason like a headache is another trend in the health-care system today. While it costs you very less to buy those pills, eventually it can also cost you your life! It is correctly quoted –‘Health is wealth’, perhaps under-estimated at times by not considering professional advice. Self-medication means self-initiative to self-care by consuming self-prescribed medicines as a treatment for common symptoms such as fever, cold and cough, pain, headache, acidity, diarrhoea, vomiting, weakness, throat infections and so on; which is indeed wrong.
Things that we generally see happening around Fever or headache? “Let me get a painkiller or an analgesic from the nearby pharmacy store”. Suffering from indigestion or acidity? “Get an antacid for me quickly”. Running nose and a sore throat? “I need some lozenges for my throat and some anti-biotic for the cold”. Got a cut or a bleeding wound? “No need of a doctor, an anti-septic will clean the wound; later applying a Band-Aid or dressing will definitely work!” Feeling weak and tired? “Glucose powders or ready-to-use energy drinks is the best option”. This gives rise to a concern that- how rational, effective, useful, safe and most importantly how correct is the use of such medications without consulting a doctor and ignoring the seriousness of the condition?
The real worry Home remedies for treating the early symptoms might be acceptable, but using it over and over can worsen the situation! What if the cause of fever and headache is some viral condition? What if the throat is bad due to some infection? What if the person who has a bleeding wound and is diabetic too, which can cause severe complications? You never know the root cause right?
What is stimulating this self-medication act?
Self-medication can be seen as a sense of independence, implying rights to treat oneself without the help of a physician.
Exemption from medical treatment and ignorant behaviour can be counted as one of the reason.
An attempt to reduce the healthcare cost seems to be yet another benefit.
Increase of access through improved technology has also majorly contributed to self-medication.
What needs to be done?
One thing to realize here is treasuring your health is far more important than any other kind of treasure! It is always better to consult a doctor instead of taking medicines for a longer duration without knowing the actual cause of the disease. Go to your physician first when you feel unwell, that will be a wise choice all-time! It is also the duty of all the pharmacists to create this awareness amongst the people relying on non-prescription drugs. People themselves, on the other hand, need to stop risking their lives by doing so!

Face over hot water (usually with some herbs on it) using a towel to avoid the heat scaping - remedy for nasal congestion and mucous cough
Drink a lot of water, with lemon and honey ( and ginger if you have it) for sore throats and dry coughs
A glass of water with a table spoon of sodium bicarbonate for nausea
Also in general get either the sprays they have in farmacies or a saline solution and a syringe (they are cheaper overall but also might go bad quicker, I recommend this if you have more than one person using it) to clean your nose. Spray each nostril tilting your head to the side and slightly backwards, helps with congestion and coughing.
This is less home-remedish but not very well known, if you frequently get nosebleeds there are creams you put inside your nose to heal the skin there and avoid bleeding!!! Get those if you need them they are life savers!!!
