Fucked my friend’s sister after she gave me a ride home
Was in Zurich for work a few weeks joined a dinner party at a friends house. We finished and I was heading out when his sister who’d joined for dinner offered me a ride back to my hotel. It was late and the train would have taken a bit longer so I said sure.
His sister Zoe and I had been chatting on and off and playfully flirting throughout the evening though I hadn’t thought much of it. She’s very cute - late 20s Swiss postdoctoral researcher, 5’10”, athletic build with perky little breasts and short brown curly hair. She was wearing black jeans, a white T-shirt and a green cardigan and sitting next to her in her little 2-seater BMW I couldn’t help but catch a glimpse of her nipples pushing through her top and her cute full lips smiling as we chatted.
She pulled up near my hotel and I started to thank her for the ride and get out, when I see her parking, unbuckling her seatbelt and getting out of the car. She silently walks me through the hotel lobby to the elevator and as soon as the door closes she pushes me against the door and starts kissing me fiercely. Taking the hint, I pull her in and run my hands down her toned back and grab her ass which her jeans are holding onto for dear life.
We make it into my room and I throw her onto the bed and we continue kissing as I run my hands up under her T-shirt and start caressing her tits while she’s rubbing my now extremely hard cock through my trousers. I unbutton her jeans and slide my hand down to her crotch. Her panties are already wet and I start rubbing her clit and pussy through them as we keep kissing and she starts moaning softly.
I slip her out of her jeans and underwear and move down her body, gently kissing her stomach through her T-shirt until I reach her gorgeous little pussy. She had a neatly trimmed landing strip which I kissed and bit gently before slowly sliding a finger into her as I started slowly licking and sucking on her clit. She took her top and bra off and I glanced up at her beautiful perky tits with the tiniest nipples while I concentrated on pleasuring her with my tongue.
It didn’t take long to find a rhythm of me finger fucking her and licking her clit before she was writhing in pleasure - I pushed a second finger inside her and started vigorously fucking her and hitting her gpot - she started cumming and grabbed my hair, grinding her clit against my mouth and she pushed my head down.
Thinking she’s going to need a break, I moved back up and she started kissing me again. I lay on my back and without missing a beat she swings her legs around and lowers her pussy onto my face. I obediently grab her ass and thighs, spread her pussy open and start eating her again. She slides my pants off and leans forward and starts licking the tip of my cock.
I’m in heaven with this nubile girl sitting on my face playing with my cock, and then she just swallows my whole cock in one motion- I can feel her lips on my balls. She starts bobbing up and down - it feels absolutely amazing. I start thrusting with my hips and she holds her head steady while I face fuck her with my face buried in her soaking wet snatch.
I can feel myself getting close when she comes up for air and speaks for the first time since we got out for the car “don’t cum, you need to fuck me”. “I don’t have a condom” I say while still licking her pussy. She gets up off my face, lowers her pussy on my cock, leans into kiss me and smiles saying “just fuck me”.
Again, not one to argue, we kiss deeply as I start sliding in and out of her tight little pussy. I can feel her getting wetter and I reach down to feel her wetness and start rubbing her asshole and then gently rubbing it with two fingers as she buries her tongue in my throat and I start fucking her relentlessly. She seems close to cumming again and I push two fingers gently into her asshole while I fuck her - this seems to send her over the edge and I feel her pussy spasming on my cock as I fuck her through her orgasm which seems to last forever.
She breathlessly collapses in a heap on me and is helplessly kissing my cheek and neck while I slowly keep sliding my cock into her. I gently stroke her beautiful toned back and ass while we kiss, still intertwined. She softly whispers “cum in me”. I give her a slightly hesitant look and she laughs saying “don’t worry, I’m horny, not an idiot - I’m on the pill”. Really not the conversation I was expecting to have with my friends sister a few hours earlier.
Suddenly emboldened, I lift her up, and bring her breasts up to my mouth and start kissing them, gently sucking each nipple in turn as I start fucking her harder and deeper again. She’s clearly enjoying this as she pushes more of breast into my mouth and I start sucking her tit hard and grabbing the other one, as I reaching around with my other had and fingering her asshole again while I’m fucking her. The sensations are almost too much for me as I start to fuck her harder and deeper, and when I’m close I push almost my entire middle finger into her ass and she gasps, clenching down on it while I start cumming hard in her with my mouth filled with and sucking hard on one of her perfect little tits.
She gently rolls off me and snuggles up next to me while she reaches down and starts rubbing her clit furiously. I’m still in a bit of a daze, but I turn to kiss her and rub her tits, pinching her nipples hard and she gets herself off again rubbing herself with my cum.
We both lay their exhausted and content for a while listening to the sounds of the city at night. I realise I’d practically give her a hickey on her left breast which we both laughed about. We chatted as she got dressed and she gave me a warm kiss and a hug before heading off. Totally not the end to the evening I was expecting and I’ll definitely drop her a line next time I’m in town.

next part
Music was always her dream. Singing was her dream, imagining herself in the middle of a stage singing a beautiful aria of an opera was always her dream.
Her mom was her inspiration. She grew up following her around the world, watching her sing big titles of opera, being the main character of the stories: Aida, Norma, Tourandot were only a few of the names she used to portray. Ever since she was a baby, she was attached to her hip while she had rehearsals, being fed by her during the breaks and playing with the singers that didn't have to sing in the scene. She met a lot of people, people that helped her be who she is right now. Orchestra conductors, opera singers, scene directors… all of them watched her grow up and become the woman she is now.
That day was the best day of her life. She just did a premiere of her first time singing as the main character of an opera. Her cheeks hurt because of her unreadable smile, hugging her coworkers and members of the production, hugging the roses they gifted her.
Everything was perfect. Her role as Juliette was perfect for her, everyone loved how she portrayed the character. The audience was happy to see how the heiress of the big Cordelia Becker is as perfect as her mother.
"Miss Becker, you've got a call" her manager said, tapping softly on her shoulder, interrupting the conversation with one of the owners of the opera foundation.
Ophelia smiled and nodded, excusing herself and walking away with her phone in her hand, walking outside the big luxurious room and standing on a balcony.
"Yeah, who is?" the young woman asked, smiling, curious about who would be calling at this hour.
"Miss Becker, I'm so sorry to inform you that your mother has died this evening from cardiac arrest" the voice said, sounding far away yet so close to her ear.
"W-what? What do you mean? You are joking right?" she frowned, looking around. "I talked with her a few hours ago. You might be wrong"
"I fear I'm not joking" the woman said. "I'm your mother's doctor, today she collapsed after a concert…"
The voice started to fade out. The dress suddenly started to feel too tight, not letting her breathe. The world was spinning around her, she had to balance herself leaning on the wall of the building.
"Are you there?"
"Oh, sorry…" she mumbled. "Eh… where did you say she is right now?"
"In Zurich" the doctor said. "If you don't mind… you are the only familiar contact she has, you have to come and do all the paperwork"
Of course, Zurich. Her home.
"Yeah… okay" she sighed, feeling her heart breaking slowly.
She ended the call, wanting to throw the phone down the street. She saw the people on the street, how unbothered they seemed to be, how perfect their life looked.
"Ophelia?"
Her manager was standing by the door of the balcony, opening it and looking at her worriedly.
"Ophelia, you are going to get cold, come back inside" she insisted.
"She's dead" Ophelia mumbled, turning around and facing her manager, her friend.
"What? Who?"
"My mother. She's dead"
It feels unreal to say it. It's a dream, no, a nightmare. She only has to wake up and everything will be fine.
But… Why is she feeling the wind? Why is she hearing the traffic under her feet?
"Do you want me to drive you to the hotel? I'll get you plane tickets"
Ophelia only nodded, not saying a word. She followed the woman close, not looking around to the people sending curious gazes at her, wanting to know what was happening.
What now? What will happen now?
She has to leave. They will have to cancel the next day's concert. She has to make an official announcement of what happened.
"Are you sure you are okay?"
She looked at her side, her manager sitting next to her on the backseats of a taxi.
How did she get inside of it? She can't remember.
"I am" Ophelia nodded, looking to the front.
She was on autopilot. No emotions shown yet, not even tears. She was trained to keep her emotions for herself during her performances, but right now wasn't the place nor the moment to keep the tears for herself.
When the car stopped in front of her hotel she got out of the vehicle quickly, rushing to the hall and going to her room. The suitcase is everything but ready, all her clothes were still in the wardrobe, since she planned to spend more than a week there. She has to put all her clothes there.
"I already reserved a flight" her manager announced, walking inside the room. "You have to be in the airport in three hours"
"Perfect" she nodded, looking at the clothes, still hanging in the wardrobe.
She stared at them for some minutes, scanning every piece of clothing and feeling that she was missing something.
"I don't have black" she said, turning around and looking at her manager.
"I'll manage, you are going home, you have black dresses…"
"I'll go buy one" she said, grabbing her bag, ignoring that it was already late and stores weren't open. "I can't go with a concert dress, my mother wouldn't approve that"
"Ophelia, it's already nine" her manager frowned. "You have to pack your suitcase and go immediately to the airport!"
"I have to buy black clothes!" she exclaimed, losing her self control. "I don't care about the time! I have to buy clothes that I'll burn later because I don't want to remember the day my mother died! Don't you get it? So go call a fucking store or whatever place and find me something! I can't stop at home, I can't!"
She can't go home. She knows that once she steps inside of that apartment it will bring her memories and the reality will hit her immediately.
"Okay, take a deep breath" her manager sighed, taking a step closer to her. "I have a friend here that works in a store, maybe I can find you something"
"Quickly" she sighed.
Her manager left her alone, making the silence slowly kill her.
Her mother died. The only person in the world she can call a family, has died. She doesn't know who her father is, maybe one of those singers her mother used to hang out when she was younger. Her grandparents stopped supporting her mother when she decided to start a music career.
"This can't be happening" she mumbled, pacing around the room, taking off the dress that was suffocating her. "No, this is not real"
She laughed loud, not being able to control herself anymore. In what type of movie is she? She feels like the main character of one of those movies where she's all by herself.
But now she is by herself. She doesn't know her father nor her grandparents. She doesn't have a boyfriend. Her friends have the same job as her and travel around the world to do music.
"Fucking… God!" she exclaimed, grabbing the first thing she found and throwing it to the wall.
She's alone in this world.
"Take a deep breath" she sighed looking at the mirror. "You can be calm. You can do this. No tears. You are not a baby"
She took a deep breath and smiled, fakely, to her reflection. This is how life is, one moment you talk with someone you love and then the next hour that person is dead.
"Ophelia, open" her manager knocked on the door. "I have the dress, did you make your suitcase?"
She looked at the woman, how she was holding a dress bag.
"What were you doing this hour?" she frowned, looking at Ophelia and grabbing all the clothes of the wardrobe and folding them quickly, placing them on the suitcase. "Ophelia. Ophelia!"
"I lost my mom" she whispered.
"Yes I know" her manager frowned.
"I…"
"There's no time. You have a plane to take"
Ophelia looked at her. Eloise, her manager, was like a maternal figure, always making sure she takes care of herself and don't get sick, and when she does, she always goes to the pharmacy and get her medicine before she asks. She was there for her since she started her career, helping her reach her dreams and making them come true.
"I should do an announcement" Ophelia mumbled, watching how the older woman closed the suitcases. "A-and I have to get changed…"
"Put this" Eloise said, grabbing the same clothes she came with to the city, jeans and an oversized hoodie she bought on her previous concert place. "Quickly"
When she felt the dress getting lighter on her body, after Eloise unzipped it, she changed, looking at herself in the mirror.
Ophelia can feel the thoughts and emotions inside her mind, hearing them buzzing like bees inside a box.
Again, she was on autopilot, and immediately she was inside a car again on her way to the airport.
"I sent you the ticket to your phone. You have to run, there are traffic and once I drop you there you have to go as fast as you can"
She only nodded, looking outside through the window.
"Cancel all the concerts I have this month and the next one" Ophelia mumbled.
"That much?" Eloise frowned. "Are you sure?"
"I have to take care of my mom's things" she said. "I have to make a funeral, I have to bury her. So… yes, I am sure"
When the car stopped in front of the main door of the airport, she stayed ten seconds inside of the vehicle, looking at the people walking inside the building. Eloise opened the door after watching that she was still inside the car and sighed.
"Come on, get out"
Ophelia nodded and sighed, grabbing her backpack and hiding herself under the hood of the hoodie. She felt her manager's arms around her, making her sigh and hide her face on the shoulder of the woman.
"You can do this" she whispered. "You are strong. I'll join you in a few days, okay? I have to take care of things here"
Everything was in slow motion. The people around her were walking slowly, smiling and laughing, hugging and crying. There are welcomes and goodbyes, first encounters and last encounters.
All the thoughts inside her mind were too loud, not letting her hear how the speakers were giving the last call for her flight. It was too late when she heard them, making her grab her suitcase and backpack and run through the corridors and nearly falling to the ground.
For what? She already missed the flight. The moment she was a few meters away from the gate, the footbridge that connected the gate to the plane was already gone.
"No" she mumbled, feeling her heart sinking down to the floor. "No, no, no"
It was a miracle that the flight attendant offered her a new plane ticket for the next flight.
She could feel how red her eyes were, holding all the tears she can't let fall. Sitting on the benches, looking outside the window how the plane she was supposed to take started to fly, she felt sad.
Her stomach started to rumble, making her gasp and look around, embarrassed when she heard a woman chuckle. When was the last time she ate? Maybe before the performance… seven hours ago.
"Excuse me…" she mumbled nervously, looking at the sandwich the lady was eating. "Where did you get that?"
"There's a store there, you can buy food"
She nodded and sighed, her stomach rumbling more at the mention of food. Ophelia looked at her phone, sighing. She barely has battery.
"Fuck" she groaned, looking around, funding a table where some people used their laptops and phones.
She walked towards that table, nervous. What if she talks with someone and she breaks down immediately?
"Oh, excuse me" she smiled weakly to a woman, patting her shoulder "Hi, yeah. Do you casually have a charger for an iPhone? I just forgot mine and the ones of those stores there.are so expensive and I already wasted a lot of money buying a business seat…"
"I'm sorry, no"
She sighed, wanting to cry. Today everything goes wrong. She needs to scream, not caring if she won't talk the next morning.
"I have an iPhone charger" someone said behind her, making her gasp and turn around.
Then their eyes met. She saw his blue eyes looking at her, how his lips curved with a polite smile.
Somehow, his voice made the thoughts inside of her mind stop buzzing.
"Here" he smiled, disconnecting his phone from the charger and letting her use it.

Danube River Cruise 2024, Part 1. Day 1 Zurich
Flew out of MIA Wednesday Oct. 30, 2024 for Philadelphia. After a 9 hour wait we boarded the 7+ hour flight to Zurich Switzerland.
We lucked out and got the last 2 First Class seats. Arriving in Zurich at 0840 on the 31st. Just walk across the street at the airport and take a 5 minute train to the main train station in Zurich. The main stations are called HBF’s. For 30 euro we took a taxi from one side of the train station to Fred’s Guest House, on the other side of the train station. Which if we had walked out the other side of the train station is a 3 minute walk. But it was a safer bet to use the taxi.
Super nice staff at the hotel. Typical European hotel, very small elevator. Fitting in two Americans and their bags is almost an impossible feat.
After dropping the luggage in the room, we went walk about. The old part of the city is between Lake Zurich and our hotel near the train station.
This will be are stomping grounds for 30 hours. Just a little over a mile top to bottom. We end up walking about 7 miles the first day with a nap in between.
Old Zurich is known for its water fountains. Yes, the water is safe to drink. If you look to the left side at the base even dogs get to drink the water. Each fountain is different; some ordinary, some very ornate. Unless there is a particular theme for what is near by, the old standby is the lions head. This has an Anchor on the front. We are pretty close to a river and small marina. Note the two metal bars across the fountain under the water spout. Every old fountain has them. Can you guess why?
The Swiss drive on the right hand side of the road which makes it easy for us. But the Electric trams are everywhere. Bikes have their own lanes. We were able to figure out, when there is no stoplight, but there is a crosswalk. Trams, cars and bikes all give way to the pedestrian. You just needed to know whether there was a stoplight or not.
Look at this government building from 1917. Slate roof with a twist. Two cornucopia and a clock on the front. You have never seen so many clocks and advertisements for watches until you visit Zurich. Have you ever noticed every watch advertisement has the hands roughly at 10:10?
Wrought iron balconies are common. Majority of older houses are 4-5 floors. Common for a business to be ground floor and then apartments above. I doubt many have elevators. No fat Swiss.
End of a bridge across one of the rivers running through town. Very ornate lamps with a metal Lion sculpture on top.
Many of the really old houses paint their shudders in a one off design and color. I assume it was to facilitate people finding the address. You can see these from several blocks away. Pay attention to the photos below.
River cruise boats on Lake Zurich. Originally these were paddle wheelers. Not sure if the wheels work now or not.
Swans and seagulls being fed from the Quaibrucke (bridge). Fall colors still.
Looking across Limmat river.
Several of these were around town. I will give you a hint why in the next photo.
Bikes parked at the train station. Several hundred if not a thousand bikes around the station. One of many bike parking areas here. The previous photo was of a bike cycle pump.
No straight roads. Green shudders on the house.
Fish fountain with the Limmet river on the other side of the wall. Since there are no iron bars across the water you can tell it is a modern Fountain.
This is a door to the only church we went in. The inside of the church was fairly plain. The stain glasses were nice but not as picturesque as many of the churches we have been in.
Typical cobblestone side street, pedestrian only.
Old fountain (see the bars), water spewing from the lions mouth. I am sure there is story behind the old guy on the top reaching into the mouth of the lion.
Have you figured out the metal bars supported the pots people would put under the spout, then slid it back to the edge. Before carrying it home.
Look at the ornate building on the left.
This is viewing the Hotel Storchen (Hotel Stork) from across the Limmet River. They have a small platform you can bring a boat up too. On the roof to the right side is a sculpture of a mother stork and her baby in a stick nest. The church steeple in the center is for St. Peters church behind it.
Check out the nest on the top of the building.
The boss and the guy with the level were on vacation when the roof was built. Hope the home owner got a discount.
Roasted chestnuts, 4 euros. Heading back to Fred’s Guest house for a nap!
Fred immortalized on the side of his guest house. I think he got the idea from Conrad Hilton. Note the slightly open window on the building to the right. Nancy opened our window. The top fell into the room 6 inches. We thought she broke it.

Zürich, Switzerland
Tuesday, Sept 10, 2024
Greetings All. We are in Zurich trying to change our body clocks by 6 hours. Easier said than done. We flew yesterday from Detroit to Amsterdam and the idea is to sleep the night away as we transverse the Atlantic - but both Mark and I got maybe 2 - 2.5 hours of sleep during our 7 hour flight. We left Detroit at 6:30 PM and arrived 7 hours later in Amsterdam at 8:30 AM their time. - but at 1:30 AM our time. We had a short layover (1 hr and 25 minutes) but in Amsterdam this is JUST enough time to get to your next flight - so we got to the gate and boarded. The flight from Amsterdam to Zürich is only an hour and while I may have slept on that flight it was not more than 20 minutes.
We got a pretty pricey cab from the airport to our hotel - but we could not face figuring out public transportation as tired as we were. Sadly - our hotel room was not ready. We opted for a leisurely lunch in which Mark had cold spicy melon soup and I have garam marsala butter chicken - both delicious - but really all we wanted was a bed to stretch out on. (Don’t worry I will not tell you everything we eat!!) After lunch we got the news that our room still wasn’t ready and I did something I have NEVER done - feel asleep in a chair in the lobby of the hotel. But by 3:30 we were in our hotel and we opted for naps - until 5:00. Hopefully bedtime will come easily...
Enough about us…. Let’s get to our adventure...
The theme for this trip is “OLD STUFF.” We will start with "real old" and work our way to "OMG WAY WAY OLD." We, in the US, get so excited when we see a structure from the late 1600s or early 1700s - but that is a joke in this part of the world - kinda a “baby building.”
So let’s start with Zürich Switzerland - our current “home."
From what we have seen, Zürich is a beautiful city surrounded by the foothills of the Alps mountains located at the northern end of Lake Zürich and built on Limmat River (pronounced “Limit” that flows from Lake Zürich. This city has a history going back centuries.
The town was founded by the Romans a bit over 2,000 years ago. Recent excavations show evidence of settlement even before that - over 6,400 years ago.
We explored the old city from about 5:30 to 9:00 - or 17:30 to 21:00 - as any citizen of the world would say - with a a few exceptions - like us.
Surprises: There are no “walk/don’t walk” signs - pedestrians just have the right of way - PERIOD!
There is graffiti everywhere - I was shocked!
EVERYONE smokes! Or it seems that way. DISGUSTING!
I went to buy our 24 hour pass for public transportation and was told to just keep in with us. If asked we would have to show it - but there is no check in - check out system. Trust, my friends.
Things we expected: Public transportation options would be numerous and easy to use and very clean.
People would be helpful and kind
Things would be EXPENSIVE.
We took the tram to old town and at one point saw this:
While we were listening to this:
Kind of eye and ear candy.
I think I forgot to say what the Swiss flag looked like - so here you go…
We ate dinner at an outdoor cafe - late - (when in Rome, so they say) and it was outstanding. Mark had cold roast beef with horseradish sauce and I had “Rösti” with smoked salmon, onions, capers and a dill sauce. OMG!!!
Rösti is shredded potatoes fried in butter and made into a mound. You can get lots of different kinds of “Rösti’ and I highly recommend it. Split with someone - it is huge. (It will be breakfast for us tomorrow.)
Tomorrow - we will explore more than the transportation system. I’m going to bed. It is 22:00 here and I'm hoping to wake up for the first - and maybe only - presidential debate - which would be 3:00 AM here. If I do - I'll watch it live. If I don't - I will be more rested when I watch it later Either way - we are in Zürich rooting for Kamala!!
CIAO! (Yes - they say that here too)

For the fedal promp thing, maybe fedal with the Federer children or meeting babyrafa? 🥺
You know, funny you should mention the Federer children, because I just happened to have a ficlet sitting on my laptop that includes guest appearances from the Federer children. You've inspired me to finish it. Here you go:
Roger didn’t mean to build a compound for himself and Rafa along the shores of Lake Zurich. It certainly didn’t start out that way. How it really started was with the idea that he wouldn’t mind doing mini coaching sessions every now and then in his retirement, especially with young up-and-coming players, but not full-time coaching and the tour travel that came with it. No, he promised Mirka and the kids that he would stay home for a while, get adjusted to life after the tour, do some more biking and hiking, and keep working on his knee. But during one of the Laver Cup post-match interviews, he mentioned the idea of inviting young players to visit him at home in Switzerland for short coaching stints. He didn’t think much of it at the time; it was a throwaway comment in the midst of the media blitz around his retirement. Plus, he invited young pros all the time to be his practice partner when he was training in Dubai or before tournaments. It wasn’t like this was new.
Much to his surprise—but not Tony’s or Mirka’s, or apparently anyone else on his team—the inquiries started coming in immediately.
Exponentially.
Torrentially.
“Roger,” said Tony, pinching the bridge of his nose, “what were you thinking? Of course people are going to be interested in being coached by you. Why would you even throw that out there as a possibility if you’re not really interested in it right now?”
Roger shrugged. “I meant in the future, in a ‘never say never’ type of way. How was I supposed to know that people would take it literally?”
“Roger,” Tony growled, as his phone pinged for the hundredth time that hour. “It’s not rocket science. The ball kids could’ve seen this coming. The janitor could’ve seen this coming. The fucking fish & chips guy outside the O2 could’ve seen this coming.”
“Oh, you got chips from Mick recently? How are his daughters?”
“They’re good, the older one is at university now and—hey, don’t deflect, I’m not done being pissed at you.”
Tony swatted at him. Roger cackled and ducked behind Seve.
The inquiries and entreaties pouring in were endless: When would he be able to take on a student? How many would he be willing to take at a time? This one was willing to travel here from the US, that one all the way from Argentina. So-and-so was a future number one, if only Roger would work with him. Tony looked like he wanted to flatten Roger with the sheer power of his exasperation as he politely fielded all the calls, emails, texts, and, on one memorable occasion, a swan ice sculpture delivered to the Team8 office with the inquiry folded in its beak. Roger couldn’t do anything besides shrug sheepishly.
But the idea still appealed to him: the notion that he could have the best of both worlds, stay involved by helping young players evolve and also have dinner with his family every night. So in between making waffles with the kids, hitting the ball around on local practice courts, rehabbing his knee, and attending to his sponsorship duties—one aspect that certainly had not slowed down despite his retirement—the idea started to take form in his mind. The players would definitely need to come to him here, they would need to stay for at least a few weeks at a time, and it would need to be somewhere close. But he also knew that not every promising young player could afford to live out of a hotel or rented house for several weeks in his multimillion franc neighborhood. He decided early on that he didn’t want money or means to be a barrier for talent. But where would they stay? And what about their parents, coaches, or other members of their team?
It became obvious that if Roger was serious about this, then he would need to provide room and board. Somewhere close by, ideally walking distance, or maybe even on his property. They already had one guest house planned for their new home that was under construction. Maybe they could repurpose that, and there would need to be a gym attached, and—
“No, not next to the court. Nobody wants to feel like they’re sleeping on a tennis court,” said Mirka.
She was slicing some fruit for breakfast, her hair pulled back in an immaculate bun but the rest of her still wrapped in a robe.
Roger opened his mouth but Mirka cut him off.
“Nobody sane wants to sleep on a tennis court,” she amended, her hands moving efficiently with the knife.
Roger grinned and popped a bite of cinnamon roll into his mouth.
“Okay, what if we set it a little back, along the back line of our plot? Maybe create a little walking path down to the court. They’ll have some privacy; you can’t even see the main house from back there because of the trees.”
“Roger,” she said, patiently, “we talked about you retiring from the tour. We did not discuss you bringing the tour home with you.”
“But what if they followed me home? I can’t just leave them out in the cold. Have some pity.”
A corner of Mirka’s lips curled up against her will. “No.”
Roger groaned dramatically. Mirka serenely deposited the fruit into the bowl.
“Fine,” he said, draping himself over her back and nuzzling her neck, his arms encircling her waist. “I’ll just have to sneak them in behind your back. Secretly put them up in the guest house. Slip out for midnight practice sessions while you sleep. Come back all sweaty with flimsy excuses.”
That got a derisive huff out of her. “If you can arrange a secret tennis affair behind my back, much less on our property without my knowing, I will be impressed.”
Roger conceded that she had a point.
----------------------------
Of course, Mirka wasn’t truly against the idea. If she really was, she would’ve made that clear right from the start. Roger knew from all these years that she liked to work through the logistics on her own first. He just needed to wait, and she would come back with a full 5-year plan.
“What about for their parent or coach? Not everyone wants to live with their team in the same house,” she said from the couch, laptop propped open on the arm.
“Two guest houses, then,” Roger replied easily as he scanned the live scores on his phone. “And their own pool.”
“Oh? You realize that they’re here to work, not for holiday.”
“True, but it’s nice to have a long soak after a hard day of playing tennis against the great Roger Federer, and I don’t want them to have to use our jacuzzi.”
That earned him a snort.
“So now we’re talking about two guest houses plus a building with a gym, a pool, and a jacuzzi for your prospective students.”
Roger hummed, distracted. Schwartzmann really did need to work on his serving.
“Maybe three guest houses—one for them, one for their trainers, and one for extras like parents or tutors,” he said.
“Uh huh. Anything else? No courtesy car? Cafeteria? Sauna?”
“Well, we wouldn’t want to spoil them,” said Roger, judiciously.
Mirka laughed.
------------------
Planning and construction on the two guest buildings took about 18 months from start to finish, and then putting in all the furnishings and finishing touches took another 5 months. Roger started thinking about them as cottages instead of guest houses and the open area they clustered around as the village square. Over the course of the construction, he sometimes found himself telling the kids that he was “going down to the village” to check the progress.
“You know, sometimes I wonder if you’re subconsciously trying to build your own mini Manacor here,” said Mirka one evening on the couch after dinner, after the dishes were put away and everyone had retired to the living room with various books, screens, or textbooks—in the case of the children—in hand.
Roger nearly choked on his coffee.
“Wh-what makes-you say that?” he wheezed, setting his mug down on the coffee table before he got hot liquid where hot liquid should not go.
Mirka considered her own coffee for a moment.
“Well, the guest houses are nearly ready to go, and yet you haven’t talked to me or Tony at all about who you’d want to be your first student. Normally you’d already have a vision for who you want to invite first, when to extend the invitation, how you’d want to go about the coaching, and all the other details.”
“That’s because the cottages weren’t done yet,” he replied, summoning his most reasonable tone, because that was an absolutely reasonable reason.
“And now they are,” Mirka returned evenly, “or they will be by the end of next week. Normally you would’ve been going on and on about this project during the whole construction. You should be so excited about it that I’d have to tell you to go pester Tony instead. Has something changed? The only thing I can think of is that you don’t want to have students here anymore. Which means you had another purpose in mind for those houses, or else you wouldn’t have built them.”
“No, no, I still want students in there.”
Mirka gave him a look that suggested he refrain from insulting her intelligence. “You’ve always had a very strict boundary between work and home. Tennis is your public life, and you never bring your work home with you. That’s why I was surprised when you first suggested inviting young players to stay at our home, but I figured it was worth giving a try, so I didn’t say anything at the time. I was surprised when you wanted to build a full tennis court in the back too. You’ve always practiced at the local courts, because of the separation between your tennis life and home life. Now, suddenly, after all these years, you want to bring work home with you? I don’t think you really wanted to build those guest houses for prospective students, Roger.”
“Maybe it’s for the girls,” he tried.
The truth was, Mirka was right, and it bothered him because he was always very intentional about his decisions. It was unlike him to commit to something without fully understanding his reasons. He thought this was what he had wanted. Now he realized that, while he had kept the needs of a professional tennis player in mind during the design and construction of the guest houses, he hadn’t envisioned what it would be like to have a student actually living there once construction was finished. And it was because he still thought of the guest houses as part of his home, which meant family and close friends, not prospective students and their teams, who would be like strangers.
So if the guest houses were for family and friends, who did he really build them for? There was a tiny, niggling feeling in the vicinity of his chest that he didn’t want to examine too closely.
“The girls are getting older now,” he continued. “Someday soon they’ll need their own space, away from their uncool parents. This way they can at least be close by.”
Mirka rolled her eyes.
“I know the girls being 16 now is probably setting off all sorts of internal alarms, but you realize that just because you build houses for them doesn’t mean they’re not going to move out some day. You had already moved out by their age.”
“Yeah, and look how far that’s gotten me,” Roger said, gesturing at Robert reading a book on the other couch.
Robert very obviously ignored that with the wisdom of an experienced parent.
Mirka did too. She had over 24 years of experience pinning Roger down, figuratively and sometimes literally.
“If the houses aren’t for the kids when they grow up, then who are they for?”
Roger was quiet for a long while. He kept his eyes fixed in the distance and sipped his coffee. When he finally spoke, his voice was soft.
“Rafa is probably going to retire at the end of this year or next. He’s 39 now, you know.”
To some, it might seem like a non-sequitur, but Mirka knew instantly what he meant.
“Oh, Roger.”
She moved closer to him on the couch until they were leaning against each other, Mirka with her legs tucked up against his.
Roger sighed and leaned his head against hers.
“The first year is probably going to be fine for him,” he said. “He has the Academy, his foundation, the sponsors, his family. He’ll need at least the first year to decompress, just like I did. I think it’s the second or third year that might be hard for him. The tennis starts to fade because you’re not training as much. Because there’s no reason to.”
Mirka linked her arm with his and patted him comfortingly.
“He could use a friend and rival then,” she offered. “Someone on his level. The Academy kids are great, but it’s not the same.”
“No, it’s not,” he agreed, just like he already knew that the young players he thought about coaching would not be the same. “Maybe we don’t have to visit him all the time in Mallorca. He can come visit us as well, bring the family, bring the kids. Stay for a while in the summer when it’s nice here. He’ll like the lake and the hiking.”
“You miss him.”
“Yeah.”
Mirka curled against his shoulder.
“You know you love him,” she said softly.
“Yes, of course I love him,” Roger said easily.
Mirka slanted a look at him like she was questioning his intelligence. “Rogi, you know what I mean. You don’t just love him, you’re in love with him.”
“I—.” He paused, careful, unsure where this was going but sensing dangerous territory. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Mirka rolled her eyes. “Rogi, don’t—don’t lie to yourself.”
He turned to study her face, brows furrowed. “Why are you saying this?”
“Dad, we could see your star-crossed romance from our box the whole time,” Myla interjected from the study desk by the window.
“Everyone in the stadium saw it on the big screen at your retirement. The whole Internet saw it,” Lenny snorted, not looking up from his homework.
“You guys were not subtle,” Charlene sniffed with the supreme confidence of a teenage girl when it came to analyzing other people’s love lives.
“What? What are you guys talking about?” Roger said, looking between them, but it sounded unconvincing even to his ears.
“Don’t worry, he feels the same about you,” Charlene said. “I caught him checking out your ass like ten times last summer when we were in Manacor.”
“What?! Wait a minute. He was not—I don’t think he would—are you sure? You didn’t tell me about any of this.”
“Yes, I’m sure, yes it was gross cuz you’re my dad, and of course I didn’t tell you. He tried to play it off, but he totally was. Myla caught him too”—Myla shrugged when Roger glanced at her—“plus he bribed me with a family outing on his boat if I kept quiet and didn’t tell you.”
Roger remembered that boat outing. It had been a fantastic day, but that was beside the point. “And so you lied to me and kept this from your dad?”
“Yeah, but I at least told Mom.”
Roger turned toward Mirka, who shrugged. He turned back to his family, his face halfway between incredulity and indignation.
“Who else knows about this?”
Every single hand went up—both girls, the boys, Mirka, even his own mom and dad.
“Everyone on Uncle Rafa’s side knows too,” Leo added helpfully.
“So I’m the only one who didn’t know?”
Mirka patted his arm sympathetically. “It’s not your fault. You assume and easily accept that everyone likes you, but you’ve always had a hard time accepting when people love you.”
Roger stared at his family, who all stared back at him expectantly. Finally, he threw his hands up. “Well what am I supposed to do with this knowledge now?”
Myla shrugged. “I think this is the part where the music kicks in and you run into each other’s arms and start making out in the rain. But that’s, like, eww, cuz you guys are old.”
Roger looked from his kids to his parents to Mirka and wondered how this conversation got so far off the rails. “How are you guys not shocked or bothered by this?”
Lenny rolled his eyes. “Dad, we’ve been calling him ‘Uncle Rafa’ since we were little. I thought he actually was my uncle until I was 8. I think I was more surprised to learn he wasn’t actually related to us than I was when I saw found out you two had the hots for each other.”
Roger could feel his face turning red. “I do not have 'the hots’ for anyone.”
Now it was Charlene’s turn to roll her eyes. “Dad, please. My friends were texting me links to the Tennis Channel Valentine’s post of you and Uncle Rafa. Some of those photos were from back before I was even born.”
Roger turned to Mirka helplessly.
“Alright, that’s enough,” Mirka said, coming to the rescue. “Everyone back to their homework.”

We lost a legend
Tina Turner, the dynamic rock and soul singer who rose from humble beginnings and overcame a notoriously abusive marriage to become one of the most popular female artists of all time, has died, her family announced in a statement. She was 83.
Turner died Wednesday at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
“With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” her family said.
“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow. Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly,” a statement on her verified Facebook page read.
A riveting live performer, Turner had a string of R&B hits in the 1960s and early ’70s with her domineering and violent husband Ike Turner before she left him – fleeing their Dallas hotel room with 36 cents.
Her solo career floundered for years before she mounted a stunning comeback in 1984 with her multiplatinum album “Private Dancer” and its No. 1 hit, “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”
Before long Turner was a global superstar, commanding MTV with her spiky wigs, short skirts and famously long legs strutting across concert stages in three-inch heels.
Her talent earned her acclaim as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” while her resiliency made her a hero to battered women everywhere. When she sang of pain and heartache in her husky, full-throated voice, every word rang true.

Zurich Airport Taxi Service: Your Saviour When You Are Late!
Have you ever considered how to create a sophisticated and pleasant atmosphere in your house without major renovation? Rope lights could be useful. Your house may be decorated in a number of various ways with these versatile, bending lights. Their soft light gives any space instant transformation in appearance. Whether you want to highlight certain architectural details, illuminate a route, or make your living room more inviting, rope lights may provide character and appeal to your house. Many people use these lights when they want something unusual for their house as they look well with both contemporary and rural decor.
Designing Comfortable Living Rooms
Rope lights provide living spaces with a pleasant, steady illumination that makes them seem cosier. Instead of utilising strong overhead lighting, adding a rope light behind TVs, mantels, or bookcases can make a space seem homey. The light seems natural and soothing, hence this is perfect for family movie evenings or laid-back get-togethers. Under furniture, rope lights also look fantastic as they provide a subtle glow that accentuates the decor of the area.
Improving Outdoor Environments
One of the most often used applications for rope lights is outdoors. Their ability to resist the elements makes them ideal for illuminating decks, patios and yard walks. Rope lights along walks will help to make your outdoor spaces safer and more welcoming. For nighttime events, late-night swimming, or a peaceful evening on the patio, these lights provide a gentle, appealing outdoor area.
Various Approaches To Create Pleasing Bathrooms And Bedrooms
In bathrooms and bedrooms as well, rope lights find many varied applications. Arranging them around windows or along the bed gives the space a more elegant and sophisticated appeal. Along kids' room walls, create imaginative forms or embellishments with rope lights. This will give the space a magical quality. For early rising or a bath, rope lights placed beneath the sink in the bathroom or around the mirror give it a chic, hotel-like glow.
A Little Holiday Cheer Long-Term
Though they may be used all year to make any area glitter, rope lights are often seen as Christmas decorations. You may arrange them in a pleasant reading corner beside a stair railing or highlight a wall feature. Rope lights may make every day seem a bit more vibrant and entertaining.
Conclusion
Regarding house décor, rope lights are ideal as they combine design and utility. They can rapidly elevate any area of your house, inside or outdoors, and are adaptable and easy to install. A cheap and artistic approach to make your living room seem cosier or enhance the appearance of your outside spaces is rope light. Whether you are preparing for a celebration or just want to make the area brighter, rope lightprovides that unique touch that makes a house seem like a home.

Life After Graduation: Career Opportunities in Switzerland for Indian Students
For Indian students, Switzerland offers not only high-quality education but also promising career opportunities after graduation. Known for its strong economy, world-class industries, and focus on innovation, Switzerland is a hub for international graduates looking to build successful careers. Whether you’re planning to study in Switzerland or seeking guidance through an overseas education consultancy, understanding the career landscape post-graduation can help you make informed decisions about your future.
Switzerland’s Thriving Economy and Job Market
Switzerland boasts a robust economy with low unemployment rates, making it an attractive destination for international graduates. Key industries that offer employment opportunities for Indian students include banking, finance, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, engineering, IT, and hospitality. Swiss companies are renowned for their global reach, and many multinational corporations have their headquarters or major operations based in cities like Zurich, Geneva, and Basel.
Indian students graduating from Swiss universities can explore opportunities in these sectors. The Swiss labor market highly values the skills and knowledge acquired through a Swiss education, making graduates from Swiss institutions particularly desirable to employers.
Post-Graduation Work Permits for Indian Students
To stay and work in Switzerland after graduation, Indian students need to apply for a post-graduation work permit. Swiss regulations allow international students to extend their residence permit for six months after completing their degree to search for a job related to their field of study. This extension is crucial for students seeking employment within Switzerland’s competitive job market.
During this period, students can work up to 15 hours a week while they search for full-time positions. It’s important to note that landing a job in Switzerland often depends on language skills, especially if you are seeking employment in sectors where German, French, or Italian is commonly spoken. Therefore, learning one of Switzerland’s national languages can significantly enhance your employability.
Key Industries for Indian Graduates in Switzerland
1. Banking and Finance
Switzerland is famous for its financial institutions, particularly in wealth management and banking. Cities like Zurich and Geneva are home to some of the world’s leading financial firms. Indian students with degrees in finance, economics, or business administration have excellent prospects in this sector. The demand for financial analysts, auditors, and investment consultants remains high, and the international nature of Swiss financial services makes it easier for foreign graduates to secure roles.
2. Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology
Switzerland is a global leader in pharmaceuticals and biotech, with companies like Novartis, Roche, and Lonza headquartered in the country. Indian students with degrees in life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals can explore a variety of roles, from research and development to quality assurance and regulatory affairs. Switzerland’s commitment to innovation in healthcare and biotech ensures a steady demand for skilled graduates.
3. Engineering and IT
Switzerland’s engineering and IT sectors are continuously growing, driven by advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications. Indian graduates with degrees in engineering, software development, or computer science will find ample opportunities in Switzerland. Companies such as ABB, Swisscom, and Siemens offer competitive positions for highly skilled engineers and IT professionals.
4. Hospitality and Tourism
Switzerland’s tourism industry is another major employer of international graduates, particularly in the hospitality sector. Indian students with degrees in hospitality management can find roles in luxury hotels, resorts, and travel companies. The country's reputation for offering high-quality services makes it a fantastic destination for those interested in pursuing a career in hospitality.
How to Secure a Job in Switzerland After Graduation
Securing a job in Switzerland after graduation requires strategic planning and preparation. Here are some tips for Indian students to enhance their employability:
Build a Strong Network: Networking is key in Switzerland’s job market. Attend career fairs, university events, and industry conferences to meet potential employers. LinkedIn is a valuable tool for connecting with professionals in your field.
Language Skills Matter: Although many companies operate in English, fluency in one of Switzerland’s national languages (German, French, or Italian) is often required for better career prospects. Indian students should consider taking language courses during their studies to improve their chances of landing a job.
Use University Career Services: Most Swiss universities have dedicated career services that assist international students with job placement. Take advantage of these services, which offer guidance on resume writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Internships and Part-Time Jobs: Securing internships or part-time jobs during your studies can give you valuable experience and help you build connections within the industry. Many Swiss companies hire their interns for full-time positions after graduation.
Long-Term Career Opportunities and Residency
Once you secure employment in Switzerland, you can apply for a work permit. Over time, working in Switzerland may open pathways to long-term residency or even citizenship. After living and working in Switzerland for several years, you may become eligible for a Swiss residence permit (C-permit), which allows for permanent residency.
Conclusion
Switzerland offers numerous career opportunities for Indian students after graduation, particularly in sectors such as finance, pharmaceuticals, engineering, and hospitality. With the country’s thriving economy and international outlook, Indian graduates can build successful careers in Switzerland. For students planning to study in Switzerland, consulting an overseas education consultancy can provide valuable advice on how to navigate the job market and secure employment post-graduation.
By preparing early, networking effectively, and developing language skills, Indian students can maximize their career opportunities and enjoy a fulfilling professional life in Switzerland.

Preparing to go...
Aug. 27, 2024
It seems like a long time since Mark and I took off on a big adventure because is that been a long time since Mark and I took off on a long adventure. Oh - we have had adventures but they did NOT have itineraries or guides. For example, my Mom's house got struck by lightening and burned on June 25. NIGHTMARE!!
Without any itinerary or even a guide book, I flew to Florida the next day and stayed for a month. I most definitely could have used a road map. The fire did immense damage but the worse - by far - was the water damage. Anyway - everything was gone. We lived in a hotel, a VBRO, then a rental for most of July and on August 1st, our older son, Grant and I moved Mom into the house she will close on in 2 days. I had never been busier in my life!!!
Her new house is just 3 houses from her old house - I call the old house the "fire ruin." So she kept her neighbors and her neighborhood, her friends and her hobbies (going to the American Legion a couple nights a week.) Her new golf cart is parked in her garage and as she prepares for her 98th birthday, she is once again in her own home.
Mark was not to be outdone this summer and got a lovely stent in the ol' widow-maker artery in June and then took a gentle fall on his bike (stopped and just fell over - Biden style) that resulted in a brain bleed that went undiagnosed for almost 10 days. Again, no directions or guidelines but scary as hell. Our plans were to head to Spain, Italy, Austrian and Switzerland on August 11 but Mark was released from the hospital after a procedure in his brain on Aug. 8 with a "no go" order, so cancel, cancel, cancel and that brings us to now.
Mark is much improved and has dropped 40 pounds since the stent due to exercise and diet and a little boost during hospitalization of 3 days with ZERO food. He looks great! Here he is with our 16 yr old granddaughter - whose birthday we would have missed had we not canceled our trip. (Where did the time go?)
We have been making the best of this cancellation attending LOTS of soccer games, hosting sleepovers and cousin playdates and a big family bonfire to kick off the school year.
And who among us doesn't like a tea party!
I adore spending time with our family - but I'm not gonna lie, I am ready for some travel where the dust, floor condition and meal preparation is not mine to worry about. I like my bed made without me doing it too! So - our clothes from the cool alpine weather came out of the suitcase and only the hot weather clothes remain.
Our route to Jordan is a little convoluted because I had put together a very complex trip that had us in Switzerland and Liechtenstein for a week before we joined our friends in Amman, Jordan pre-cancellation. But as I explored my options I discovered that we could save a little money and grab back part of our pre-Jordan itinerary if we started our trip in Zurich, Switzerland. That is the plan.
On September 9 we will leave Michigan and head to Zurich - but for only 2 days. From there we will fly to Athens. Greece for a day and then to Amman, Jordan where we will meet our friends and guide on September 13. On September 18th, we will all fly to Cairo, Egypt until October 2. Below is an general "overview path" of our air plans.
You all KNOW I love maps - so be prepared.
We are going to spend most of this trip in the Eastern European Time Zone or 7 hours ahead of Michigan. Our 2 days in Switzerland we will only be 6 hours ahead but that won't really matter to our Circadian rhythms 🙄.
We will be using Swiss Francs, Euros, Jordanian Dinars and Egyptian Pounds. The US Dollar is worth 0.84 Swiss Francs , 0.89 Euros, 0.70 Jordanian Dinars and 0.49 Egyptian Pounds. Anyway you look at it this is going to be complicated - and expensive. Most likely we will not get Swiss Francs or Euros since our stay will be so short - instead we will just use the ol' faithful credit card and let them make the conversion. BUT we need Jordanian Dinars to buy our visas at the airport upon arrival and for that reason, I ordered some from our bank. Like most countries we have visited, their money is beautiful.
The denominations are different colors and sizes. The larger the bill the bigger the value. Well, that makes sense - for sure.
On to our first destination - Zurich, Switzerland. Switzerland has a population very close to that of Michigan - around 9 million. But land wise, it is a lot smaller.
Switzerland is a landlocked country home to numerous lakes, villages and the high peaks of the Alps. It is not a member of the European Union nor NATO but has trade agreements with the EU members and is a member of the Schengen States. What is the difference between EU and Schengen States? you ask. Good question. I didn't know until we started traveling. The answer is: The EU is a political and economic union with its own parliament - political structures - and governance whereas the Schengen Agreement is a treaty that allows for the free movement of people between participating countries.
It used to be a trip to Europe would fill you passport up quickly - but not now. Fly into France and get your passport stamped - but then feel free to travel in all 29 Schengen states and leave that passport in your bag. Instead of a boarder crossing, you might see a sign that says "Welcome to Slovakia" although you are more likely to see nothing.
Switzerland is a neutral country and has maintained that neutrality officially since 1815. Some might argue that they have been neutral since 1515 and frankly given their location that is an amazing feat. Being in the Alps is certainly helpful!! As a neutral country they are not part of NATO but are supportive of NATO and belong to the NATO Peace Project.
We will visit only one city in Switzerland - Zürich.
I figure the people who live there spell know how to spell it - so I will follow their lead. It is Zürich! You gotta have the beloved umlaut! It is the largest city in Switzerland but it is not the capital - that is Bern. We have never been there and I'm confident that we will find plenty to do - but right now no itinerary. We are winging it.
The Swiss franc symbol “CHF” is an abbreviation that stands for the Latin name of the country “Confoederatio Helvetica,” and the “F” stands for “franc." We would use $ 875 to indicate prices in US money, countries in that EU that use the Euro use € 875 to indicate prices in Euros but in Switzerland a price would look like this ₣ 875.
Have you ever seen this symbol before?
₣
Cool huh?
Their money is beautiful as well - plus the size changes with the domination.
That is it for now - stay tuned for more.
