Hey y’all,
I’m gonna go on hiatus again for a month, avoiding all social media. Making a proclamation like this seems to be the only thing that is effective “enough” (meaning that at some point, I’ll probably break the vow of staying away, but a few days away is better than none).
I’ve been struggling with my mental health due to everything in my life being too overwhelming for me to handle, which you can probably tell by how many times I vented for January. As a result, I’ve resorted to doom-scrolling across 3 different apps (Tumblr included) to help me feel better temporarily.
Overall though, it makes me feel much worse because I feel guilty about wasting time and procrastinating, and I’ve lost quite a few hours that I could have used for studying. (As if I wasn’t procrastinating enough without social media. Without social media, my procrastination has always been 4 walls and my thoughts, and whatever activity I could do at whatever ungodly hour of the night).
Then I’m also saddened by the fact that writing my fan fictions or novels, or even reading, would have been healthier coping mechanisms. And I’m always frustrated about not having time for these things (though the writing is understandable because I can’t write when I’m mentally burnt out…and I’m past burnt out since 2022).
I’ll probably still stop by to vent since this site is my safest mode of diary-keeping. I will miss you all, my mutuals and followers and seeing your posts and your tags under your reblogs💙
It will also sting to be cut off from my only sources of news for such a long period, but maybe it will allow me to focus more on the crisis here at home until I finish prepare my first-aid/medical kit, go-bag, and escape plan. I still have classes to get through and then I start rotations near the end of March.
I don’t know how long things at home will be “stable” enough. I found out from my mom a couple days ago that my dad found the handgun that was hidden (the one mentioned on a previous diary entry). Neither of us has asked him about it. We just know that it’s no longer where it was and neither of us have moved it.
Whatever happens, just know that I’m determined to come back and determined to live as long as the universe wills it. Toodles for now, stay safe, stay hydrated, stay awesome ❤️
(My dad has been discreetly digging through their room searching for the handgun for so long that it was only a matter of time until he found it. Another instance of my mom not listening to me. I told her the day that she and I previously found it, to let me store it in my room but she refused. Now he has it. I don’t know what she was thinking making it easy for him like that)

First Aid Thoughts at 1130am...
Before I begin - If you haven't taken a first aid class yet, GO DO IT! Learn CPR too! I know this might be a bit of a controversial opinion BUT:
I have a huge problem with a lot of EDC/Prepper shit when it comes to IFAK's (individual first aid kits).
99% of the shit is geared toward Basra and Sangin, not going to the beach with friends! Look, let's be honest - unless you're a Tactical Medic, kicking down doors of gang hideouts, you really, fucking, don't need a tourniquet ankle holster!
You read the web pages, watch the videos, see the social media posts, and it's all just Tourniquets this!!!, Tourniquets that!!!!...
But the thing is, tourniquets are only good for a single type of injury, the dreaded uncontrolled extremity bleed! That's it. Nothing else. It is a one trick pony for a situation that doesn't happen all that often for most people.
Think about it... think about how many times in your life outside of being a first responder or in the military that you were confronted with a situation where you really, really, needed a tourniquet.
Damn near close to 0 isn't it? Maybe once, maybe even twice if you spend A LOT of time hunting, hiking, some extreme sports.
You know what is a lot more useful? An old school triangle bandage! Splint, wrap, pressure, hold an ice pack, it's a true multi-tool! And fun fact, you can even use it as a tourniquet!!! Whether it's an extremity injury, head injury, neck, or body... you might find a use for the old bandage! You can even tear it into strips to pack a wound if you need to! There's nothing it does perfectly... but like carrying a Leatherman on your hip, a triangle will work well for a lot of the little things you encounter day in/day out.
So stop and think about what you DO deal with on a common basis. Cuts, scrapes, burns, sprains, breaks, bites, and splinters are all the things that I worry about at home and when we go out. We like to go walking in nature, we like to go to the beach, we cook, we clean, we walk up and down stairs! All of these things can be hazardous to ones health lol!
So I break things into 3 kits.
A kit I keep on me when we go out with just the bare basics, something that will handle the immediate needs until we can get to the car.
A small kit in the car that will handle things a little more until we can get home or if need be an ER or wait for EMS.
A larger kit at home that can handle most things without needing to call 9-1-1 or go to the ER.
So for the personal kit
Small Hemostatic gauze pad
BZK Wipes
Hydrogel patch
Folding shears with a built in seat cutter and window breaker
Gloves
Pen Light w/whistle
Tweezers
Sting/Bite wipes
Triangle Bandage
Moleskin
Tourniquet
Small bright orange/pink signal panel
Multi-tool
Basic wound care for everything from blisters to sprained whatevers without a lot of bulk or weight.
And I'm a big fan of carrying a whistle and signal panel around, because it can be really hard for EMS or anyone to find you if you need to be found, but just let 9-1-1 know you have a whistle and to tell you when EMS gets on scene so you can start blowing it. A signal panel is not a signal mirror, which is great for backpacking/camping to signal SAR helicopters.
I also keep a bright orange signal panel in the car for this reason. If you need AAA to find you, tape that to your back window and see how quick that works out!
A $300 trauma kit is great for someone who has the training, but you're never ever going to use 90% of the stuff - like oral or nasal airways, chest vents, and stuff. And you don't need a $100 giant IFAK on your hip just to go to Walmart... even in the worst of neighborhoods.
But you do need to carry a little something because shit happens, bugs bite, things cut and scrape, and sometimes you spill a hot drink or food on your foot. Stuff happens when you're away from the car and home and you want to be able to handle that, especially for your loved ones.
#for those who don't get the Basra or Sangin references - google them#I could have also used Mosul or Fallujah or Nuristan but - ya know#thoughts#first aid#medical stuff#IFAK

day 12/366
spent... 3-4 hours at uni for my subject registration, and in order for me to be able to take all the classes i want and need for this semester so i could end all of my undergraduate classes by november and be able to get my diploma, i still have to wait for awhile for the office of the registrar's feedback on the process my department wants to do to help me with that. it's alright, i've learned to wait patiently during the first semester anyways. what's important is i'm nearing to my end-goal (graduate) !!
while waiting tho, i was able to talk to my clinical instructor and prof for both semesters for 4th yr classes (department head) and i'm really glad and grateful to have such good mentors
my CI gave me tips and cautions for when i start my internship (e.g., if you don't know something, just ask, because it's better to be demerited for being cautious (bc different institutions/hospitals = different standards & protocols) instead of compromising your patient's health and care)
^^ she was also quick to inform me of the first institute i'll be doing my rotation on (bc our rotations consists of adult care, neonatal/pediatrics, mothership and community)
my professor for lectures and research also was quick to say he's very flexible with whatever, because my clinical research 1 would be considered as a "special class" for the sem since what's offered for 2nd semester is clinical research 2
dean, as usual, very helpful. he was the one to settle the discussion on my subjects for the sem and is very willing to talk to office of the registrar's to be able to make things work out for me ♡
overall, it was a productive day despite waiting most of the day:
walked (picked up some fallen flowers while she smelled everything) + fed luna and cleaned her place before i got myself brunch and ready to leave
left together with one of my best friends bc she has her job interview near my first stop
levelled up on my solitaire app while waiting
was able to make it home in time for prayer and worship day 4/7 (traffic was insane, left uni at 430pm and arrived home 710pm)
got stuff printed to aid my review
planned out ideal rough schedule for when i start internship bc i also have solo research and the lectures + luna to take care of, among others
already looked up how to travel from home to my first hospital rotation (there are 2 ways !!)
and so, since i was not able to get coffee within the day, by 9pm i was asleep. woke up at 1130 to eat dinner tho bc havent eaten anything aside from brunch, 2 chocolate bars and a loooooottttt of water (too stubborn to take allergy meds)
also thinking about trying to vlog my process before internship and during and after ?? i kind of want to go through this part of my life where i muscled through but at the same time i feel it would be really hectic

so some of my medical history:
lyme disease when i was 10
mono right after (one kid i was never near in the county had it)
a weird ass contagious skin disease that was very contagious so i couldn't go to school (easily treatable) that no one else in the county had
diagnosed with a type of arthritis when i was 15 (the "treatment" didn't help)
i've had 4 surgeries for cysts (ganglion cysts both wrists, left side lypoma, cholestiatoma in my left ear)
tubes in my ears 3 times
2 surgeries to replace the bone in my left ear (i'm HOH)
MRSA my freshman year of college (not allowed at school)
junior year? i started getting treated for chronic lyme (controversial) was on multiple antibiotics for 4 years, went gluten free, no sugar, very little caffeine, got cdif (colitis) (almost died) had to stop that route. tried chinese medicine (garlic & herbs) was taking chlorophyll with too much copper, got copper poisoning & almost died (when my dad was first diagnosed with cancer no less) stopped that course too. (also did a whole miserable diet that i can't even talk about bc i really like food & that also almost killed me bc i didn't want to eat ever)
did acupuncture for years, that was the MOST helpful. she improved my period, helped make my diet tolerable, improved my pain & migraines by leagues, etc etc
pretty sure i have pots, maybe eds but i haven't tried to get diagnosed because ... i hate doctors with a burning passion. my biggest problem now is fainting & allergies lol and liquid iv & compression socks have actually made the biggest difference. used to survive on gatorade & pedialyte. and i need to go back to acupuncture
i'm always in pain (muscles, joints literally all of them) but you learn to live with it. and my very helpful doctors told me to ignore that pain when i was 15 & said fatigue was normal. so um. yeah
i feel like i've buried most of the memories, like they were years ago at this point but they feel like another life sometimes.
it's so isolating and if i didn't have two really good friends at home when i left college, i don't know how i would have made it. they would come over basically everyday and we'd watch tv & hang out, they'd make sure i ate & help me clean etc etc (i had the downstairs apartment if my parents house most of the time and *thankfully* my family was always helpful & understanding, my mom fought so hard for me) my mom & my friends could tell how i was feeling without my having to saying a word about it.
it absolutely kills me every time i read about what others deal with when they have chronic illnesses because that just. is not how anyone should be treated when they're sick & in pain. i remember being 15 and the whole world telling me "you can't be sick all the time" like literally yes you can you dumb fucks. again, thankfully i had some great teachers who made so many allowances for me (letting someone leave class early with me because i couldn't walk or carry my stuff but i had no aids or plan with the school. sometimes teachers that weren't even mine let a friend leave their class. one teacher didn't make me read a tale of two cities because i missed the whole unit) i had another friend going through hell. she has crohn's disease and she almost went blind and it took a long time for her to get diagnosed too.
one of those days i'm just mad at the world. this post doesn't really have any purpose other than to say listen to disabled people, especially the ones in your life. and if you can help them then you should. it's isolating & exhausting & painful in so many ways. people shouldn't lose friends because of their health. they shouldn't be guilted because of their health. health isn't an achievement, it isn't something you can control even if you do everything you possibly can. some things we just have to live with.

Which Home Health Aide Programs Close to Me Offer the Best Training?
Finding the right Home Health Aide (HHA) program close to you is essential for starting a rewarding career in healthcare. With various options available, it can be challenging to determine which programs offer the best training. Here’s a guide to help you identify high-quality HHA programs near you.
1. Accreditation and Certification
One of the most critical factors to consider is accreditation. Accredited programs meet specific standards set by industry organizations, ensuring the education you receive is recognized and respected. Look for programs accredited by agencies such as the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Accreditation often indicates that the program has met rigorous quality standards and will provide you with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to succeed as an HHA.
2. Curriculum and Hands-On Training
Find Hha Training Near Me
A well-rounded HHA program should offer a comprehensive curriculum that covers essential topics such as patient care, infection control, first aid, and medical terminology. Additionally, hands-on training is crucial for gaining practical experience. Ensure the program includes clinical hours or externships where you can apply your skills in real-world settings under the guidance of experienced professionals. This practical experience is invaluable for developing the competencies required for effective patient care.
3. Instructor Qualifications
The expertise of the instructors can significantly impact the quality of your education. Research the qualifications and backgrounds of the faculty members at the schools you’re considering. Instructors with extensive experience in home health care and relevant certifications can provide valuable insights and practical knowledge. Their expertise can enhance your learning experience and better prepare you for the challenges of the field.
4. Program Flexibility and Duration
Consider the length of the program and its flexibility. Some HHA programs offer full-time schedules, while others provide part-time or evening classes to accommodate working students. Evaluate how the program’s schedule fits with your personal and professional commitments. A flexible program that allows you to balance your studies with other responsibilities can be beneficial if you have other obligations.
5. Cost and Financial Aid
Get Cna Program Fairfield Near Ca
Understand the cost of the program and what is included in the tuition. Some programs may offer additional resources such as textbooks, uniforms, or certification exam preparation. Explore financial aid options, including scholarships, grants, and payment plans, to make the program more affordable. Contact the school’s financial aid office to discuss your options and determine what financial support you may be eligible for.
6. Reputation and Reviews
Research the reputation of the programs you are considering. Online reviews from current and former students can provide insights into their experiences and the overall quality of the program. Additionally, reach out to local healthcare providers or home health agencies for their recommendations. A strong reputation and positive feedback from the community can be indicators of a program’s quality.
7. Job Placement and Support Services
Investigate the school’s job placement rate and career support services. A high-quality program should offer assistance with job placement and provide resources to help you secure a position after graduation. Ask about the school’s connections with local home health agencies and whether they offer job fairs or networking opportunities. Effective career support can make a significant difference in your job search and overall career success.
Choosing the right Home Health Aide program involves evaluating accreditation, curriculum, instructor qualifications, program flexibility, cost, reputation, and job placement support. Discovering the Best Animal Psychic Near Me in California: A Journey into the Spiritual World
animal psychic near me
California, renowned for its diverse culture and spiritual vibrancy, is home to many psychics and astrologers. Among the various specialties, animal psychics stand out, offering unique insights into the lives and well-being of our beloved pets. In this article, we will explore the fascinating world of animal psychics, highlight some of the best practitioners in California, and delve into the spiritual aspects that make this field so compelling.
The Essence of Animal Communication
Animal psychics, or animal communicators, possess a special ability to connect with animals on a psychic level. This connection transcends the physical and taps into the spiritual realm, allowing psychics to understand an animal's thoughts, feelings, and needs. This form of communication can address various issues, including behavioral problems, health concerns, and emotional well-being.
Historical Context and Evolution
The concept of communicating with animals is not new. Ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptians and Native Americans, believed in the spiritual bond between humans and animals. They often sought the guidance of shamans or spiritual leaders who could communicate with animals. Over time, this practice evolved, and today, animal psychics use a blend of intuition, telepathy, and spiritual insight to connect with animals.
Benefits of Consulting an Animal Psychic
Behavioral Issues: Animal psychics can help identify the root cause of behavioral problems in pets. Whether it's anxiety, aggression, or unusual habits, understanding the underlying issues can lead to effective solutions.
Health Concerns: Often, pets cannot communicate their discomfort or pain. Animal psychics can tune into their energy to detect health issues, aiding in early diagnosis and treatment.
Emotional Bonding: Strengthening the bond between pet owners and their pets is another significant benefit. By understanding an animal's emotions and needs, owners can provide better care and companionship.
End-of-Life Guidance: When a pet is nearing the end of its life, an animal psychic can provide comfort and clarity, helping owners make compassionate decisions and offering solace during the grieving process.
Finding the Best Animal Psychic Near Me in California
California, with its rich spiritual landscape, offers numerous options for those seeking an animal psychic. Here are some of the most reputed practitioners in the state:
Lisa Larson – The Animal IntuitiveLisa Larson is a well-known animal psychic based in Los Angeles. Known as the Cowgirl Shaman, Terri's unique background in horse training and psychic abilities makes her a sought-after animal communicator. She specializes in working with horses but also connects with other animals.
Spiritual Aspects of Animal Communication
Animal communication is deeply rooted in spiritual beliefs. It is based on the idea that all living beings share a universal energy that allows for telepathic communication. This energy is often referred to as the "life force" or "chi" in various spiritual traditions.
Telepathy: Telepathy is the primary mode of communication for animal psychics. It involves sending and receiving thoughts, images, and feelings between the psychic and the animal. This process requires a quiet mind, deep focus, and a strong intuitive connection.
Energy Healing: Many animal psychics incorporate energy healing into their practice. Techniques such as Reiki, chakra balancing, and aura cleansing can help restore an animal's physical and emotional well-being.
Spiritual Guidance: Animal psychics often receive spiritual guidance during their sessions. This guidance can come from spirit animals, guardians, or higher beings who provide insights and messages for the pet and its owner.
Meditation and Mindfulness: To enhance their abilities, animal psychics often practice meditation and mindfulness. These practices help them connect with their inner selves and the universal energy, allowing for clearer and more accurate communication with animals.
How to Choose the Right Animal Psychic
Selecting the right animal psychic is crucial for a meaningful and beneficial experience. Here are some tips to help you choose the best practitioner for your needs:
Research and Reviews: Look for psychics with positive reviews and testimonials from past clients. Personal recommendations and online reviews can provide valuable insights into their abilities and effectiveness.
Experience and Specialization: Consider the psychic's experience and areas of specialization. Some psychics may have expertise with specific animals or particular issues, such as behavioral problems or health concerns.
Connection and Comfort: It's essential to feel comfortable with the psychic and trust their abilities. A good animal psychic will create a safe and supportive environment for both you and your pet.
Ethical Practices: Ensure that the psychic follows ethical practices and respects the well-being of animals. Avoid practitioners who make unrealistic promises or use fear-based tactics.
The Future of Animal Communication
As awareness and acceptance of animal communication grow, more people are seeking the services of animal psychics. This trend is likely to continue as pet owners recognize the benefits of understanding their pets on a deeper, spiritual level.
Advancements in technology and online communication have also made it easier for people to connect with animal psychics from anywhere in the world. Virtual sessions and online workshops are becoming increasingly popular, allowing for greater accessibility and convenience.
Testimonials and Success Stories
To provide a well-rounded view, here are a few success stories from pet owners who have benefited from consulting an animal psychic:
Bella's Transformation: Bella, a rescued dog, was exhibiting severe anxiety and aggression. After a few sessions with Lisa Larson, the Animal Intuitive, Bella's behavior improved significantly. Lisa identified past traumas and provided healing, helping Bella become a more relaxed and happy pet.
Max's Health Revelation: Max, a senior cat, was suffering from unexplained health issues. Nancy Windheart, through her intuitive connection, discovered that Max had kidney problems. This early detection allowed Max's owner to seek timely veterinary care, significantly improving Max's quality of life.
Harmony for the Herd: Terri Jay, the Cowgirl Shaman, worked with a group of horses at a ranch facing behavioral issues. Her sessions revealed underlying tensions and miscommunications among the herd. With Terri's guidance, the horses' behavior improved, restoring harmony to the ranch.
Luna's Emotional Healing: Luna, a parrot, was showing signs of depression after the loss of her companion. Laura Stinchfield's communication sessions helped Luna express her grief and find closure. Laura also provided guidance to Luna's owner on how to support her emotionally during this difficult time.

Their unique abilities offer valuable insights into an animal's thoughts, feelings, and needs, enhancing the bond between pets and their owners. In California, a state known for its spiritual openness, many gifted animal psychics can provide this profound connection.

By choosing a reputable and experienced practitioner, you can embark on a journey of spiritual discovery and deepen the connection with your beloved pet.
