ingellvar rook who, the first time they and varric reach the coast on their hunt for solas, just gazes out over the seemingly endless expanse of water with wide wondering eyes. when varric finally looks at them questioningly they're like 'sorry, it's just -- I've read about it, of course, but I've, uh. I've never seen the ocean before.' and varric's eyes soften as he tells them to take all the time they need (trust me, kid, it isn't going anywhere)

it must be kind of sweet for the other companions to get to introduce the mourn watchers to things from outside the necropolis/nevarra and seeing their spellbound reactions though. emmrich's happy notes about new plants the others have introduced him to my beloved

Because it's Valentine's Day here on Earth... Here's a little something about (my versions of) those banana boys in Karusa Valley.

~ Sooga loves Kohga as his sun.

Something bright and blazing at the center of the Clan. Something providing gravity, a purpose. At first, too hot and mildly terrifying to think about getting near. Then, an object of devotion, but still too important, too vital, to be close to for any reason but to carry out a duty. The sun is beautiful, and surrounded by devotees. Why should it notice one little fish, even if that fish has grown into a dragon that guards with every breath? No, Sooga knew that anything he felt for that bright blazing ball of spirited energy that kept everyone together and everything in his life spinning, had to be kept to himself.

Until...suddenly it didn't. Because the sun rose on him again after he nearly lost his life, and it turned its face toward him...and...smiled.

And now that they are together--married!!--Sooga loves that sunbeam smile more than he even thought possible. Would do anything to get to see it. Now he knows, that Kohga's heat can be a gentle embrace just as it can be a fiery inspiration or a fizzing temper. Sooga can be close to the sun and feel his Kohga's warmth all around him every day. Bask in it. Even hold this glorious man in his arms, and cherish copper skin and honey-bright brown eyes. Kohga is the center of his world, but now, not someone to merely orbit. He's been pulled in, and oh how he has loved melting into his husband.

Kohga is Sooga's sun, and he loves him for it.

Something bright and blazing in his sky. Something providing guidance, a way home. At first, one individual light among many others around him, though over time it did make itself stand out. Then, a protective and (if he was being honest with himself) pleasant presence at his right hand, but still...not something to get too attached to. For a star is beautiful, but stars fall. And Kohga had had two fall in his lifetime, many years ago. So although he still enjoyed plenty of casual, glinting encounters, he'd given up on any daydreams about finding another diamond in the heavens, and kept his heart to himself.

Until...suddenly it slipped its bonds. Because at the moment of his greatest extremity, he looked up and there was a radiant light above him, protecting him...and...falling. The same story. But this time, a different ending. For after the whole world changed, after the sky went red and then cleared... Somehow, that star hadn't burned out after all. And Kohga knew, he couldn't let this chance pass him by.

And now that they are together--family!!--Kohga loves Sooga's sparkling self more than he thought he ever could again. Because Sooga may be a star--sometimes seeming distant, far above, something to aspire to--but he's his. Now that he has gotten close, Kohga knows that while Sooga's strength is dazzling, his quiet heart is warm. Engulfing. And he'd wrap himself around this rare, precious shard of heaven's light forever, treasuring every little bit of this man, body, mind, and soul. Sooga is the beacon of his life, now not one spark among many but the one that truly, truly has led him back home. And oh, he will follow him anywhere.

Considering your familiar with the DBZ series, then you should know that Vegeta prefers to train alone.

I'm not gonna lie -- the sole reason why I want to reply to this at all is just to get a laugh and have at least a single instance of telling you how I feel about this absolute buffoonery. I'm not replying to anything after this, should there be any.

Firstly -- this is an entirely incorrect statement. Yes, he commonly trains alone, but canon shows, if the opportunity presents itself and he's in the mood, Vegeta will train with Goku, at the very least. He has also canonically trained with Trunks, both in DBZ AND in Super. I'm assuming the thread you're referencing is the one I've got with @/regulus-regent, where Vegeta and Ninazu are training in the gravity chamber. She approached him with a challenge, he wanted to humor her and see how she could match up to him. They're not necessarily training as much as Vegeta's testing Ninazu's skills and vigor. But also, that in itself shouldn't matter at all -- because it's not your place to say shit. That Vegeta is a wonderful writer, I love how they portray their character, and they're doing a stellar job -- they're VERY true to their character. I don't think your opinion means squat in the face of that. What does it matter that Ninazu is training with, or even interacting with, a Vegeta? She's my character, I can do whatever I want with her, especially after discussing things with the other writer.

Secondly -- and I do mean this -- I'm genuinely sorry, and I have an iota of sympathy, but your behavior has been pathetic. Bro, it really ain't that deep. You have no right to be possessive over any canon character, let alone (and ESPECIALLY) anyone who writes for these characters in the first place. (For example: I have a deep fondness, to put it lightly, for Goku Black and Zamasu. I am also, according to doctors, bipolar with psychotic tendencies. I do not go around harassing people who play these characters or the other muses who interact with the many variants of them. Mental illness ain't an excuse.) Just leave people alone. But, I mean, several people have said this already, and it's gone in one ear and out the other... so, I don't have much hope for my words to pack much punch. But that's okay. I'm irrelevant, that's why you've reached out to me so late.

After a certain point, it's not harmless, it's harassment. You haven't reached that point with me specifically (yet), but I'm not going to entertain you until you do. I appreciate you finally giving me the chance to have a good laugh, though.

hello, I’m trying to put together a detailed archive post about the different ships of welcome home since (for the most part) there is little agreement on ship names. if you don’t mind, what ship names do you use for any of the wh ships or what are ship names you’ve seen or heard about? this is quite literally for research purposes haha.

interesting! i don't keep up with WH ship names much, mostly bc i have a hard time memorizing "what's the prettiest way we can combine these two characters' Central Motifs"-type names. back in my day we put their names in a blender and we LIKED IT (/lh)

anyways off the top of my head:

i use "franklydear" for frank/eddie, which seems to be Decently popular, but i've also seen "butterfly mail" get used a lot.

i've literally never seen anything but "popstar" be used for poppy/sally. before that name got popular, i Used to call it soppy, but it's probably a good thing that never caught on lol

on a similar note, barnaby/howdy has always been "laughingstock" to me.

i Personally use "barnwally" for barnaby/wally, but "wallaby" seems to be the more popular choice By Far. which makes perfect sense imo, i just worry about the hypothetical user who's just trying to find stuff about their favorite animal, the wallaby.

"julaby" for barnaby/julie which i'm Pretty sure is just one artist's rarepair but that artist is really good so i feel obligated to acknowledge the ship

wally/home is a ship for me and like 2 other people as far as i'm aware bc So much about their relationship is still up for interpretation. but honestly i just call it wallyhome.
