it's kinda funny just how much worldbuilding and lore Endfield is giving out for free. just one translated image was enough to piece together a mostly complete overall timeline while referencing only the current state of the global server (though if the translation is somehow incorrect, that throws the wrench back in, but so far i haven't seen anyone give a corrected TL).
#arknights endfield#arknights#holding myself back from actually saying any of this here until i can grab a couple friends and bounce the ideas off them#but it is kinda funny how i was correct about one aspect of the trailer that i temporarily got convinced i was misreading#bc endfield comes back the very next day or even overnight with stuff that supports my reading of it#mixed feelings still overall for the decisions they've made from a game dev standpoint but the lore is still fun to follow for now

i want everyone to know that i woke up at 2am and grabbed my phone and typed out the draft version of this, and then promptly fell back asleep. i literally could not remember a word of what i’d written when i woke up. anyway here’s the drabble that came to me in my dreams apparently.
-
logan falls for you, hard. and for once, he’s not afraid of it. he’s dangerous and always hurts those around him, directly or indirectly it doesn’t matter. he hates getting close to people just to watch them get hurt again and again, watch them start to resent him for the bloodshed that seems to follow wherever he goes.
but with you it’s different. you can heal, just like him. you get injured on a mission and the stab wound knits itself back together, the bullet hole closes. you don’t have a single scar on your body; someone who didn’t know any better would think you’d never been through any hardships.
he wakes from a nightmare, claws in your chest, and panics for a moment as he pulls them out, watching your shocked face. but your expression melts into a loving one in a moment, pain receding as quickly as it came, your hand reaching out to cup his face.
“‘i’m okay,” you tell him, and it’s true. your pretty silk pajama top is ruined, but through the holes in the fabric he can see the smooth skin of your chest, unmarred. the blood remains, a reminder that he’s hurt you, but you just hold him tight until you fall back asleep.
he watches you and wonders how he got so lucky, how there could be someone so perfectly suited for him. not just in your personality and appearance, because he’s fallen for many people in his two centuries of living, but someone he can’t ever hurt.
his biggest fear, suddenly made irrelevant.
the first time you have sex, you tell him to let go, not to worry, he can’t hurt you. the animal part of him yearns to claim you, violent and intense the way his nature wants him to be. and for once, he can.
he’s close, pounding into you harder, goaded on by your cries of his name. he leans down as if to kiss you but goes for your neck instead, canines sinking into the skin, breaking the surface and drawing blood. he pulls back, licking the blood off his lips, your blood, and that’s the final push you need. your orgasm hits you like a wave, and you clench around logan, who groans and thrusts into you one, two, three more times before coming.
it’s as he’s cleaning you up that he notices something strange. at first he’s confused, and then his stomach drops. you’re not healing. he wipes the remaining blood from your neck, as if when he moves the washcloth away it’ll be gone. it’s not.
you must see it on his face, because you giggle and say, “i wanna keep it. want everyone to know i’m yours.”
and fuck, that does something to him. he’s possessive of those he cares about, but it’s usually treated as an inconvenience, an annoyance. but you love it, you revel in his possessiveness.
“how are you- it’s not healing?” he’s still confused, but secretly pleased.
“logan,” you whisper, “you know my healing is different from yours, right? i have the power to heal myself and others. it’s not automatic like yours, i can control it.”
he didn’t know that, actually, but he’s glad. because it’s just one more thing about you that makes you perfect in his eyes, more than perfect in fact. you’re choosing not to heal the mark he left on you, claiming you as his. you’re accepting it, accepting logan even with all his flaws and detriments.
you never heal any of the marks that logan gives you. no, those you wear with pride.

The club was packed with sweaty people. The dance floor looked chaotic with how many people were dancing and grinding on each other to any beat that the DJ played. Your friends pulled you to the nearest table, not very keen to stay there but not wanting to upset your friends. They have been asking you to come out for a while, but you are making up 50 excuses as to why you couldn't go until your friends showed up at your door and dragged you out.
placing your bag on the chair closest to you, keeping your eye on it now and then so it doesn't get nicked "Well, ladies, what should we drink?" Your friend shouted out a little louder over the music all your friends replying with their favourite drinks "Um JD and Coke please" grabbing your bag to get your purse "Don't even think about giving me any of your money our treat and also for you too be wild a little" laughing placing your bag back on the chair watching your two friends walk to the bar.
"Isn't he fit?" Your friend is leaning towards you, speaking softly in your ear, your eyes leaving your two friends. "Who?" Looking around the club, including the dance floor, "That guy in the V.I.P. " looked over towards the V.I.P. area. She was right. That guy did look pretty fit "You're right?" "Whose right?" Chloe spoke, placing your drinks in front of you both "That guy in the V.I.P.", Sasha quickly said before you could even say oh, nothing. She knew exactly what you were like. Both of them turn around making it obvious to the guy that you are talking about him making you roll your eyes at them all for being an embarrassment turning their heads around looking straight at you and winking "Now that's who you need to be with" Sasha nodding agreeing with Chloe "well let's carry on with the night" changing the conversation immediately.
Taking a sip of your drink. Well, the only bit you had left. Watching your friends taking over the dance floor, probably more drunk than you were, each of them grinding on a guy that they probably would take home tonight. Sighing, "That was a big sigh," a male voice spoke behind you, making you jump, turning around, noticing it was the same guy from the V.I.P area "Haha yeah supposed to be girls' night but that changed" pointing to your friends "well hopeful I can entrain your boredom for the rest of the night do you want anything from the bar going to get myself another drink?" unsure if you should trust this fella but an offer you couldn't refuse " can I have a JD and coke please but um I didn't get your name?" the man smiled "sorry forgot to introduce myself, Lando Lando Norris," holding out his hand for you to shake which you quickly accepted not wanting to be rude "well love ill be back soon with our drinks" nodding watching him leave towards the bar slowly going away from your eyesight towards the crowd in the middle of the room forgetting to even introducing yourself why are you dumb laughing to yourself a little making sure you tell your friends if you see them later for the small embarrassment. Lando places your drinks on the table sitting on the chair in front of you "Sorry I forgot to introduce myself Chelsea but you can call me Chels for short" You and lando laugh a little "It's okay I forgot to even ask myself to be honest" holding out your glass to lando "cheers?" which he quickly accepted touching his glass with your taking a quick sip placing it back on the table "so who did you come here with?" wanting to start a conversation not wanting to make anything awkward looking up at lando "my friend actually whose dancing with one of your friends" pointing towards yours and his friends who still dancing with each other remembering he was in the v.i.p earlier and that's expensive enough in its self always packed with celebrities that get hidden in the area "you was in the v.i.p area before who do you know?" quickly saying "not wanting to be nosey or anything" lando laughed "its okay have you heard of formula one before?" shaking your head "my friends always say that i live under a rock and should widen my hobbies instead of working all the time" "well i work for formula im a driver for McLaren" softly whispering so his attention didn't get brought onto him "one of my friends who are not here tonight watches formula one but they like red bull i think" taking a small sip from your untouched drink "that will be max Verstappen" Lando begin to say joining you on taking a swig
The night was filled with more laughter sadly it was slowly coming to an end but you can't deny that this man sitting in front of you was attractive his eyes drew you in instantly giving you some sort of butterflies in the pit of your stomach every time they look into yours to his smile the one where it reached his eyes the one he shared with you through the night the conversation instantly flowing between the two of you. so many girls coming to your table flirting with the poor man or asking for a dance and with every question he always said no the girls left with an angry look smirking when lando wasn't looking but he always said sorry at the end of it making you fall a little more in love with him. The guys that you have been talking to in the club just run off with them leaving you back to square one where you originally started Lando shows the instant respect he has for women giving him an instant brownie point hearing the bell for last orders going at the bar no longer seeing your friends on the dance floor anymore "should we go outside?" lando softly spoke taking the previous swig off his drink placing the empty glass on the table slowly leaving the table looking back to make sure you didn't forget anything.
The cold air instantly kisses your skin making you shiver a little completely forgetting your jacket before you leave your house. Lando instantly recognised the shiver bringing his coat around your shoulders and bringing some sort of warmth back "Thank you" you softly said blushing a little with the kind gesture "Wouldn't be a gentleman would I if I I left you shivering" smiling at you rubbing your cheek bringing your eyes up from the floor his eyes instantly looking into yours both of your noses slowly touching like magnets pulling you both in the lips connecting together neither of you wanting to end it Lando hand softly placed on your back bringing you in a little more your hands placed on the side of his arms both of you disconnecting his lips a lot plumper than they were before "your lips taste like strawberries "making you smile "that be my lip balm" softly touching your lips "well never change it" closing in for a gentle kiss.

Alastor x Reader
𝔸𝕞 𝕀 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕝𝕚𝕥𝕥𝕝𝕖 𝕤𝕖𝕔𝕣𝕖𝕥? pt 2
( part 1 here ) ( part 3 here )
Husk was the first to notice me, since we both thought I was going to die.
“Oh (Y/n) you son of a bitch!” Angel grabbed me tightly into a hug, squeezing the air out of my lungs. Charlie ran up with Vaggie tailing her.
“How did you do it?” Vaggie and Charlie asked at the same time. Husk looked over and barked out, “How did she do what? Because she saved him and she also somehow saved herself from Boss Man’s wrath.” He took a swig of his drink, eyeing me suspiciously. I knew he was going to pamper me with a million questions later.
“Well, I just offered Vox information that sounded valuable in a state of dire quick thinking. Sure, he can be smart, but not on the spot. It was simply a trick play of environment and temptation.” After all, isn’t that what I’m good at?
“What was the info you gave?” Curiosity got the best of Angel. I smiled before pressing a finger to my lips.
“Can’t spill. Even if I wanted to.” A red magic spread across my face where it looked like my mouth was sewed shut. Angel recognized it from when he saw my chains appear before.
“Oh doll…” Pity. A look of pity is all I received and it made my chest tighten. My eyes scanned quickly over everyone. Everyone had the look of pity. I wiped the magic off before laughing dryly. “I have my ways around it obviously.” I waved them off. I don’t need their pity. I chose this. I just regret it lately. Alastor wasn’t always this closed off, at least not to me. We used to share almost everything. It was us against the world until he left me alone in it, twice.
“So, I take it we pissed off the Vee’s?” Vaggie stated as she looked at me and Charlie. She was holding up her phone that had Velvette’s recent social media post explicitly saying that Hell was about to freeze over.
“Well, it did give us the chance to actually redeem Angel Dust.”
“Everything comes with a price though, Charlie.” I alluded to what was to come. The battles I can see happening here in the future are enough to worry me on what’s to come. The future is so unsettled on what can happen right now that I can only see small things and not the big picture. I felt a tightness in my chest again.
“Stand straight darling.” Alastor smoothly spoke behind me as he pushed his hand against the small of my back and drifted up to make my spine straighten. I hate how he only gets on my case about that when Husk literally has a hunch back at this point. Deep breaths (Y/n). Deep breaths.
“Thanks sir.” I said through gritted teeth. Alastor flinched slightly at how I called him sir and how tightly I said it. He looked at me as if asking with his eyes, What is your problem? I couldn’t help but shift my jaw tighter. I squinted my eyes, You’re the problem dick. He clenched his jaw as well and pressed his hand harder into the small of my back, any harder and he would be pushing me. Somehow though, I noticed how his presence made the tightness in my chest go away. Despite the fact we were arguing through our eyes. Charlie turned towards Alastor, dragging our conversation to a quick halt.
“What should we do in preparation?” She was mostly looking at me and not Alastor which made my once annoyed face into a smug one. They are looking towards me for leadership now. I warned you Al, don’t play with fire. After all, you are the reason I’m down in this mess anyway.
“We need to cover all our bases and make it seem like we aren’t even worried about whatever they are doing, and continue business as normal. Alastor and I will cover the rest. Just watch each other and don’t leave without a partner for a little while.” He seemed to relish in the fact I still sounded like I needed him. I can’t help but feel like he loves that feeling, even if he left me and still won’t tell me anything anymore.
After spilling plans with Charlie and the team on what our next moves should be, I dismissed myself towards a separate room. I know he can feel the slight anger during our whole interaction because he swiftly follows me.
“Yes, Alastor?” He smiled wider with his stupid half lidded eyes. But my god do I always melt- stop it. You’re mad, remember? How could he keep playing with your feelings? It's like these seven years took everything we built between each other and ripped it to shreds as if we were never anything. Were we though?
“Inner battles dear?” I wish he would let that cheesy smile slip once or at least make it look sincere again.
“You tell me. You’re the one who kicked me out of my own room.” He hummed playfully as I scrunched my face in anger.
“Well, since you’re my pet, it’s also my room.” That cocky motherf-
“We need to talk, Alastor. I want to begin the negotiation of my contract coming up soon.” A slip, his eyes screamed worry but then it was gone. Bingo.
“Renewing it again? We both know you will.” My smile matched his which unnerved him slightly.
“Remind me why again. If I remember correctly, you abandoned me for seven years, won’t talk to me anymore, and have been acting weird lately. You aren’t the Alastor I signed my soul away to.” I seethed. He was holding his jaw so tight I thought he was about to crack his teeth. I leaned closer, almost on my tippy toes to get in his face, his head looked down at me. I saw a glimpse of those eyes he used to give me. The eyes he would stare at me with while I listened to him talk for hours. Then they were replaced with a slight hurt. He opened his mouth, his smile quivering as he thought of the right words.
“There you are! Nifty got stuck in the toilet again, can you help us get her out?” Charlie spoke loudly. Everything I was about to get, all the answers, just…
…gone.
The feeling of overwhelming… EVERYTHING. I wanted to yell at Charlie.
Why can’t you just wait? Fuck Charlie, you just ruined everything.
Alastor quickly fixed all the vulnerabilities he had and proclaimed, “Well of course! What type of help would I be around here if I didn’t?” I watched him walk away with Charlie, a hurt look that he caught when he glanced back.
His smile faltered quick enough for me to see it. His eyes glanced at Charlie as if trying to tell me something before he fixed his behavior and carried on as normal with her when she looked back at him. They swiftly walked out as I was left in the entertainment room.
Alastor, what did you do?
Husk was at the bar cleaning glasses from Angel and Cherri Bomb’s celebration. Swirling around my drink, wishing I didn’t drink as much as I did. I will hand it to Angel and Cherri for having such a persuasive way with drinking. My hair was slightly messy, my normal pantsuit switched out to my comfy clothes, and my eyes looked tired.
“You finally going to admit you had too much yet?” Husk chuckled out. I chuckled back before I sipped the rest of my drink down quickly. The glass hitting the counter answered Husk instead, and the sound of it sliding down to him as I smiled at him.
“Nope.” I taunted back. He shook his head, pouring more into my cup, and gently sat in front of me. I stared at it for a little while before Husk sighed and piped up, “Penny for your thoughts?” He knew I loved it when he said the sayings I normally do. Made me feel like we really are real friends, despite the situation we are both in.
“Well, I think I have a theory on what has Alastor… different.” I was careful with my choice of words as Husk eyed me. He knew I was never going to let this new Alastor last long. I mean Husk even was starting to get treated more like a dog rather than someone who helps Alastor with a slight rough friendship. Hard to believe we were all friends once.
“Continue?” Husk poured himself a matching drink as he watched me intensely. This isn’t something I would bring out loud unless I had some sort of evidence pointing towards it. I shuffled my hands around before stealing a quick sip of my drink.
“I think Alastor made a deal he regrets but can’t talk about.”
(Part 3...?)

When will my life begin-pt. 1
Chloe Charming x Red x f!reader
Synopsis- you are Rapunzel’s daughter but don’t know it because Mother Gothel survived and took you too. You possess similar powers to your real mother but they don’t work as well. Red and Chloe are visiting wonderland for the first time since the time travel and Red is nervous. She decides to take Chloe her new girlfriend to a mysterious tower from her childhood and they meet you.
Warnings: not proofread, angst, mentions of abusive parents, anxiety, fluff, slower burn, you just meet so no relationships until at least part two.
Almost 3.5k words
I really hope you enjoy!
~~~~~~~
You awoke in your cramped tower, another lonely day. Mother says you can’t leave, you mustn’t. Evil people will hurt you just like your real parents. “You are weak and helpless and they’ll eat you,” is repeated daily.
You have a special gift; you can bring life and healing when singing. Mother loves your tricks but they are somewhat rare and you have a hard time making it actually work. She gets so mad at you, she says harsh punishment is the way to make it work. So far you still screw up.
She barely leaves you alone, the only time you can relax is when she takes her daily naps. Her “Beauty sleep”. Or when she goes on supply runs. You only ever let your thoughts drift then. To that one time you saw a flash of red outside. You were only 13 then and it’s been years but you always did wonder who it was.
***
Red was beyond nervous, Chloe a little too. She had to be strong for her new girlfriend, however. Red was dealing with healing from the trauma still and this visit was making her sick. She knows her mother is better but the whole time travel being dangerous thing has her waiting for the other ball to drop.
“It’ll be alright, promise Heart,” Chloe said it, trying to soothe her. She holds her hand whilst keeping the other on the steering wheel.
When they get there it’s a lot less gloomy than it was originally and the kingdom sits in the midst of a massive ring of roses. Red holds a smeck of comfort that the change brought her home some real peace, but the gnawing feeling never ceases.
“Yeah… I know” Red sighs. “I feel as if-“
“This is just a facade?” Chloe interrupts. “I realize how scary this is; I, myself, worry something went wrong but for now we have to play the part. It’s okay to be scared. You grew up with the most terrifying women I’ve ever seen.
They got to the entrance.
“Well… let’s face this then.” Red decides. She gets out and waits before entering.
Queen Bridget stands ready to greet her daughter, coming in for a bear hug. At least this time both her and Chloe are squished. She still flinched a little but was quickly soothed by a comforting tap on her wrist from Chloe.
“It’s good to see you… Mom,” for the first time.
“It’s so good to see you too my muffin cake!” Reds mom squeals. She starts to see more similarities to Pink haired Bridget by the second and she’s still weary, but relieved.
They pull away and Queen Bridget turns to Chloe.
“Oh where are my manners?! Chloe it is so wonderful to see you here again!” Bridget smiles. Not sickenly to Red’s mild shock.
Chloe glances at her girlfriend and they both smile too and shrug.
“Glad to be back too” Chloe replies with a chuckle. Time travel is weird.
“Now as much as I want to talk your ears off you girls must want to settle in first! I’ll have the Tweedle brothers carry your stuff to your room so you can unpack. Now… I wanna hear about any cute dates later but I understand. I’ll wait dears,” she actually GIGGLES and walks away. Not without giving a little squeeze to Reds shoulder.
They both stand there a little awkwardly and Red exhales, feeling like she can fully breathe again. She feels like she needs to get out when an idea pops into her head.
“Hey wanna go see something cool?” Red says excitedly. Chloe nods and red grabs her hand to drag her back out into the wonder woods they passed through on the way there.
“Where are we going?” Chloe whispers when they hit a particularly thick part of the forest.
“I would go into these woods a couple of times when I was younger… around the third time I came across a massively tall tower. I heard pretty singing. I sadly had to leave but when I came back for the seventh time I heard it again. I never really figured out what or who it was but maybe we’ll see if we go again.
And so they trekked further into the heavily wooded area for a few minutes until finally there was a small clearing with a large tower.
Just by luck did they happen to hear a soft melody coming from it. There was clearly someone home and Red couldn’t not pass up the chance to figure it out once and for all. She used to think about this for years after her last encounter.
“Oh no…” Chloe whispers and whips her head, “I know that look. We are not about to do what I think you’re thinking.” Chow huffs
With a role of her eyes, Red replies hushed, “Fine, just me then. I’m gonna figure it out.” She jumps up on the viney stone and finds it stable. She starts climbing and soon after Chloe groans and follows her.
“Does it have to be this high?” Chloe whimpers, daring not to look down. Red is already far enough up that she doesn’t hear her.
***
You finish sweeping when you hear climbing you don’t think much of it, it’s just your mother. You still tense but remain sweeping. You should’ve finished awhile ago, but you enjoyed the free will of being able to daydream while she was on a trip a little too much. You hear footsteps hit the floor and try and finish up faster.
“I’m sorry mother I’ll be better next time, let me finish first!” You hurry out. When there’s a second pair of feet hitting the ground you focus on the window. Two girls stand there.
You drop the broom and scramble back, falling on your back and hitting the wall.
“I- I- who are you?” You question breathlessly.
Red and Chloe both share another look.
“We aren’t here to hurt you!” Chloe hurried out. Red nods and slowly steps forward.
“No, we just heard the singing and wanted to check it out. Are you up here alone? How do you even get down every day?” She questions and you still cower but decide to answer them.
“I’m not supposed to speak to others. Mother will be furious, I- who are you?” You repeat.
“This is Red and I’m Chloe.” The blue haired one speaks. “I am from Auredon, Cinderellasburg specifically and Red is from here in Wonderland. Do you know why you are in this tower?” It’s almost too much but you answer honestly for fear of angering them.
“My parents were killed when I was a baby and my Mother took me here for my protection. This place is called wonderland?” You question. If you are gonna be killed maybe you can learn some stuff. Although, these ladies seem harmless enough and quite pretty. Nothing like the grotesque monsters your mother warned you of.
“Yes, you don’t know?” Red says, you shake your head. Your curiosity is quickly getting the better of you now.
“Please don’t lie what’s it really like out there?” You softly question.
“Well… there a kingdom just past these woods. my castle, oh by the way I’m the princess” Red casually throws in there making your jaw drop “but it’s very…. Beautiful.” She goes for. “There are roses everywhere now.” She adds.
“Oh… your majesty” you bow. You read a book once with a king in it and you knew you were supposed to bow.
“It’s only majesty for kings and queens, it’s- you know what that doesn’t matter you don’t have to be so formal, I am also a princess as well. Again though you don’t have to be so formal.” Chloe urges. You are completely awestruck by the fact that two very lovely princesses happen to be your first real life interaction besides your mother.
“Well… thank you Chloe and Red. I am still honored to be in your presences. Tell me, are these kingdoms violent at all?” You interrogate farther.
“Not too much honestly, like the occasional violent coup but day to day life can be lovely,” Chloe replies. Red looks to be deep in thought.
“So your mother locked you in here? That’s… that’s crazy” she realizes. Then her face lits up.
“Chloe, a quick word in the corner.” The two huddle leaving you to finally pick yourself up from the floor and dust off.
“Are you thinking what im thinking?” Red asks. Chloe bites her lip.
“Unfortunately. This poor girl needs our help. I can’t help but feel she looks familiar somehow.” Chloe frets. She thinks you are beautiful truly, but she can’t figure out for the life of her who you remind her of.
“Okay well I think we need to convince her to leave-
“I’ll do it.” You say, causing them to jump up from the huddle. “You two are loud by the way and this room is pretty small,” you giggle. It feels good, you don’t know the last time you’ve laughed. They both blush.
“That easy?” Red questions and Chloe slaps her lightly.
“What she means to say is, we understand how terrifying this could be and that we are glad you are allowing us to help you.
“I’ve wanted to leave everyday, my mother isn’t even my real mother and yeah, I’m terrified. You two are living proof it’s okay out there.
“So how does your mother get down?” Red asks.
“The vines”, you shudder at realization you will have to climb down. Chloe seems to have an equal reaction.
“Well let’s go get you somewhere less cagey.” Red smirks.
After a very fear filled climb down your bare feet touched the hard ground. The gravel admittedly hurts your sheltered feet and you wince.
“What’s wrong?” Chloe notices.
“Oh, I guess I’m not used to standing on such rocky ground.” You admit shyly and wince again when you take another step.
Red hums.
“Wait a sec.” She starts taking off her boots and hands them to you.
“thank you! I’m sorry if I’m a little slow with all this.” You relent, still very great full.
“Don’t be.” Red smirks.
Chloe turns to her, “is you giving people shoes a habit now?” She snorts.
Red rolls her eyes. You finish putting the boots on and get a little nervous.
“We better go, mother could be back any second.” You say.
“Alright then, let’s go” Red leads.
The walk is so terrifying every sound muffled from your time up high is so much louder. Each cherp, squeak, and buzz makes you jumpier.
It’s all worth it though when you see the red castle.
It’s the grandest thing you’ve ever seen, lit up (it’s now darker outside) and the roses are so stunning and fragrant you want to cry. And you do.
“Hey,” Red says. They both come closer.
“I’m fine it’s just so pretty.” You sob.
“If you think this is pretty wait till you see my room. It’s so cool” Red says excitedly and leads for you and Chloe to follow again.
Reds castle looks so much brighter than she remembers. It’s so well lit she can actually see the high ceilings now.
“Right this way, I need to check in with my Mom… she’ll know what to do.” Red decides. It feels so weird asking her mom for help.
The lounge room is very ornate and there is satin cushioning and mahogany wood everywhere. Reds mom is setting out some tea and snacks, enough that they are clearly for the girls too.
Red clears her throat, “mom I have someone I need you to meet.” She says. Bridget looks up and immediately drops the teapot.
“Oh my,” she tsks, “very sorry dear I just thought you were someone I knew. You look so much like her. Um who are you? It was now that both Red and Chloe shamefully realized they didn’t ask for your name. They were so focused on getting you out they didn’t even find out who you were.
“Y/n your majesty.” You curtsy. The queen inhales sharply.
“You don’t have to be so formal but uh… You wouldn’t happen to have hair that glows when you sing would you?” she questions. You are immediately scrambling to figure out how she possibly knew that.
“That’d be a coincidence, we found her in a tower. She’s like repunzel!” Chloe adds and then immediately gasps. Chloe feels so stupid for not putting two and two together. Meanwhile both you and Red are clueless of what’s happening.
You squeamishly give a “yes”.
“Oh you look just like her.” Chloe realizes.
You want to curl up in a ball. This is already so overwhelming.
“Like whom?” Red nods her head in confusion.
“Well, there was a princess named Rapunzel locked in a tower by an old hag, she would use the girls powers to rejuvenate herself. She originally pretended to be her mother. Her now husband Eugene found her and allowed her to see floating lanterns that appeared on her birthday. Turns out the whole kingdom was setting them off for her. They thought mother Gothel turned to dust but she reappeared and in turn stole her baby. They had no idea where she went and searched the lands. She wasn’t ever found…. Until maybe now?” The queen finished the tale, hope growing on her face by the second. Both you and Red were utterly gobsmacked.
They all turned to you only for you to get extremely lightheaded from the attention and the fact that other than the lanterns, the story completely paralleled yours. You didn’t even know when your birthday was. Your thoughts wage a war and you feel as if your legs are giving out.
Before you hit the floor Chloe catches you.
“Oh rabbits,” The queen exclaims. “You girls be a dear and make sure are guest is alright. I believe I really do have to make a phone call now.” She turns to you, who is still conscious but out of it. “Sweets, I promise you are safe now. This castle is heavily guarded. No one gets in that wasn’t supposed to and while you are technically free to leave at any moment I believe you understand you have to stay for a little bit longer.” She hums and turns shaking her head in disbelief as she heads to the phone in her room.
“I-I” you stutter. The two others give a concerned look.
“Hey it’s gonna be fine, even if you aren’t the lost princess we can keep you save. We promise,” Chloe soothes, Red is now hunched down to your levels.
“Promise” she agrees with a curt nod. You take a deep breath, it comes in more broken but it helps ever so slightly.
“Thank you, thank you both!” You exclaim, wrapping them in some sort of embrace, you don’t know what it’s called though.
“Ha no problem maybe-princess,” Red jokes. She earns a glare from Chloe.
“So if I my parents are alive, am I gonna meet them?” You question in disbelief. This feels like a scary dream.
Red bites her lip before replying, “Well I’m assuming that’s what the call was for, she is most likely calling them now.” You are more confused.
“How will they hear her voice from all the way from the castle?”
“There are these machines that let you call from any land so long as the other has one too” Chloe responds, sharing yet ANOTHER look with Red.
“Sheesh, you need to get out more” Red tries to lighten the situation and to be fair it makes you laugh a little.
“RED” Chloe scolds.
“She laughed!”
“It’s okay, I’d rather joke about it than have it still happen” you add but now they both look sad for you again.
“Do you think they still want me? Like what if they have other children and don’t need me as a child anymore. And I’m not really a child at all, I don’t know how old I am yet but I seem far too big to be one.” You start picking at your nails in worry.
Red sighs, “I know what it’s like to have to worry whether someone likes you or not. Trust everything will work out.” She says.
“From what I heard they never stopped looking for you. They did have another child but they actually did kinda do the lantern thing every year. It’s just that they didn’t understand you were sent to wonderland. The whole time they’ve been looking elsewhere but I know for a fact they never fully stopped and that shows they will want you.” Ella offers. You just nod softly, the fear was still there, but if it’s true then it makes you feel a little better. They were good at that. You think you’d want to be their friends. Best friends even someday if you still manage to hang out.
Before the awkward tension breaks naturally the Red queen burst through the door with two others. They also look like royalty to you but that’s not what makes your chest pound. They woman looks so painstakingly like you it makes Chloe curse herself for not getting it immediately. You all stand up, Red and Chloe help you first. And you all how your head.
The woman nearly runs to you and pulls you into another embrace of sorts. This time it’s a little tighter.
“Oh my, you’re really her aren’t you, you’re my baby girl!” She gasps. You blush and stand there terribly awkward. Red can feel your uneasiness from next to you so she coughs in attempt to break Queen Rapunzel from her stupor. It works.
“I- you’re my real mom?” You question.
She pulls apart just enough to put one hand on your cheek and another on your shoulder.
“I know for sure, yes. You are everything I dreamed you to be, my beautiful baby girl. Oh you must have so many questions.” She says. She smiles like the sun and has tears pooling in her eyes. She’s dress so elegantly in purple, but she’s shaking quite a bit.
“I’m here, you’re here” you say. Rapunzel turns to the man.
“Eugene Flynn Fitzgerald Ryder, come over here this instance,” she beckons and slowly a man steps forward. You notice you have his eyes and hair color. You’ve never had a dad before, it’s almost too much. He certainly doesn’t seem like he’s an evil man.
“That’s really her my little buttercup?” He says and when he gets a good look at your face he breaks into the loudest sobs you have ever heard in your life. You honestly don’t know what to do but stand there. You are also overcome with emotion but this is quickly becoming too much for you. He steps forward again.
“Bathroom!” You exclaim and haste fully walk past them and into the halls where you start running.
“Y/n-“
“Flynn give her some time,” Rapunzel sighs.
“We‘ll make sure she’s safe,” Chloe interrupted, grabbing Red to follow you.
After a couple turns they hear sobbing down an otherwise empty hallway. You sit there with your head tucked into your knees gasping for breath. They slowly walk up to you.
“It’s a lot, I know” Red sighs. “Meeting your mo- family for the first time. You start thinking of what can go wrong when you don’t know them and they don’t really know the real you. It’s hard.” She pauses, “but take it slow. I promise that they are also overwhelmed too. But after not getting any affection your whole life it seems like even the tiniest bit is too much.”
“If you want, we will stay with you as much as allowed. I know we just met but it seems like maybe you trust us the most and that’s precious, the trust,” Chloe states. Her eyes are truthful and earnest. Red shares that earnesty.
“I- supposed if it’s alright. I would never want to impose and you’ve done so much for me. This is all just- well you said it” you gesture to Red.
“We’ll be here.” They both say in unison and it makes all three of you giggle. Maybe your new life won’t be so bad. At least not if they’re in it. Your worry is replaced with a similar fluttery feeling but you don’t know exactly what it is.
This is your happy beginning. Your life has finally begun.
hi guys!!! i wrote this as an entry for my anniversary/200 follower milestone collab event! i have at least one more entry planned for myself, and a few other people are writing/drawing things as entries as well! you can find the event masterlist here. anyways, i hope you guys enjoy this silly goofy little thing 💜
read on ao3 | wc: ~3.1k | cw: gender neutral reader (no pronouns, reader is dressed as a female character for halloween), bickering/banter/teasing, slight hint of jealous gojo, can be interpreted as pre-relationship or fully platonic
“You’re really not putting any more effort into your costume?” you asked, looking Shoko over and eyeing the white sheet draped over her arm as you passed her your hand mirror to hold. You were in the common area of the dorms with her, Nanami, and Haibara, the three of you putting the finishing touches on your costumes.
“Nope,” Shoko confirmed, accepting the mirror and holding it in her lap as you sat down, pulling out your small set of face paints. “Gojo told me my only options were a ghost or a sexy nun.”
“Not even a regular nun?”
She shook her head. “He said if I showed up dressed like a “musty old lady” nun he would refuse to be seen with me.” The way she used air quotes and an exaggerated expression of disgust around the description made you roll your eyes, despite your smile; that sounded just like your senpai.
“I don’t blame you for picking the ghost, then.”
“Thank you.” Shoko smiled at you, popping a piece of gum into her mouth with her free hand; she’d been trying to quit smoking – on campus, at least – since she’d gotten busted by Yaga so many times already this school year.
Setting your face paints and brushes down on the table beside Shoko, you stood again, grabbing a few paper towels and filling a small glass with water to clean off your brushes when you were finished. You glanced over at your classmates as you walked back to your seat, smiling a bit to yourself as you saw Haibara gushing over Nanami’s costume.
Doing group costumes by year had been Gojo’s idea, though he insisted the themes needed to be kept secret for each group. Hearing Shoko say what her options apparently were gave you some idea what your upperclassmen had chosen as their theme, but you wouldn’t know until the other boys arrived; you just hoped they weren’t too late, since you knew Gojo was the only way any of you would be able to get into the party he had insisted you all needed to attend. You didn’t have a lot of particular feelings about going to the party, but the idea of getting to spend time with everyone was really nice, since it was rare that all six of you were in Tokyo at the same time and not occupied by other things.
“What theme did you guys go with, anyway?” Shoko asked, as you sat back down and gestured for her to hold the mirror up for you. “You can’t possibly all be from the same movie or something.”
“We’re not,” you confirmed, wetting your brush and lightly tapping off the excess water before dipping into the red paint. “We’re all from different Ghibli movies.”
“That’s your theme?”
You carefully traced the outline of the first triangle under your eye. “All of our characters are royalty.” You paused, considering for a moment, then added, “Well, sort of.”
“Sort of?” Shoko arched a brow at your words.
“Yeah, sort of,” you said, filling in the first triangle and outlining the second. “Haibara is actually royalty. He’s Prince Arren, from Tales from Earthsea. The movie came out this year, it’s what made him suggest the theme in the first place.” The brush was dipped back in the red paint, then the second triangle filled in. “I’m San from Princess Mononoke.” You went quiet for a moment, moving your hair apart a bit on your forehead to give yourself space to paint the final triangle. “And Nanami is Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle. He’s not technically royalty, but he has a castle.”
Glancing over your shoulder at your classmates to make sure they weren’t listening, you leaned in closer to Shoko. “It was Haibara’s suggestion,” you said, much quieter than before. “I think he just wanted to see Nanami with earrings on and his hair down.”
She grinned at your words, both of you only managing to stifle a laugh because right then was when Gojo and Geto decided to make their grand entrance. Geto wore a pair of comfortable looking red pants, a simple black long sleeve shirt, and a red jacket on top. There was a headband with two small red horns atop his head, and a little plastic pitchfork in his hand, and when you glanced down, you saw a red, pointed tail hanging off the back of his pants; clearly he was going as a – the? – devil.
Even without the context of Geto’s costume, it would’ve been hard to mistake what Gojo was supposed to be. The flowy white shirt, white jeans, feathery white wings – which were larger than they really had the right to be – fixed to his back, and the silver halo headband atop his fluffy white hair making it obvious that he was an angel. He was without his dark sunglasses for once, presumably because they didn’t go with the rest of the ensemble he wore.
“No need to worry everyone, your favorite Tokyo Jujutsu High students have arrived!” Gojo announced with a wide, mischievous grin. Behind him, you saw Geto roll his eyes, even if there was a faint hint of a smile on his lips, too.
“You are not my favorite student,” Shoko and Nanami said in unison, completely by accident. You bit your lip to keep from chuckling at the coincidence, but you lost that battle when you saw the indignant look on Gojo’s face.
The sound of your laughter pulled his attention from your friends, and he scowled as he looked at you, though really it looked more like a pout. “What are you laughing at?” he groused.
“You,” you answered simply, grinning at him. “It’s funny how bent out of shape you get when someone tells you you’re not their favorite.”
He jutted out his bottom lip, crossing his arms over his chest. You could tell he wanted to argue, but was apparently having a hard time coming up with any sort of witty retort. “Whatever,” he said eventually. “What are you supposed to be, anyway? You’ve got red all over your face.”
You just rolled your eyes at him. “I’m San,” you told him, turning back to face the mirror Shoko still held for you, putting the final touches on your face paint.
“Who?”
“The wolf girl from the movie that came out a while back, right?” Geto asked. “Princess of something, I think…”
“Princess Mononoke, yeah!” Haibara chirped, grinning. “I’m surprised you knew, it feels like not a lot of people have seen it.”
“Because they haven’t,” Gojo said, rolling his eyes. “People only see the good Ghibli movies.”
Irritated, you dropped the paintbrush in the glass of water you’d gotten to clean it off. You turned back to face him, a scowl deep on your face. “All Studio Ghibli movies are good ones,” you snapped, barely refraining from calling him names. “If you can’t understand or appreciate the deeper themes in the movies, you can just say that.”
“What themes?” he asked, looking a bit more genuinely, less snippy. “I haven’t seen it, I wouldn’t know what they are.”
“Environmentalism, animism, disability, true love, cycles of violence—” Geto began, but Gojo waved him off.
“Ok, some heavy hitters, I get it. It doesn’t sound very entertaining, though.”
“There’s a curse that develops from the negative energy imbued in a weapon,” Nanami cut in, expression unchanged and seemingly unenthused by the conversation, but that wasn’t unusual; Haibara was really the only one who could ever seem to get him to smile even a little bit.
There was a brief moment of silence, punctuated by a curious “Really?” from Gojo; it would’ve been funnier if you weren’t irritated over him dissing your favorite Ghibli movie.
Seeming to register the other boys’ costumes then, Gojo grinned. “Haibara, you make an amazing Arren! And Nanamin, you do kind of look the part with the hair and all, but… you know Howl is supposed to be charming, right?”
Your classmate’s expression went from unaffected to irked in less time than it took you to blink, though when Haibara jumped in with a defensive, “I think he’s very charming, in his own way,” he went red almost to the tips of his ears.
The mischievous flash in Gojo’s eyes was impossible to miss, but Geto smacked him in the back of the head before he could say anything. The white haired sorcerer glared at his best friend, then stalked off with a huff, crossing the room until he stood beside the couch you sat on. Without saying anything, he plucked the mirror from Shoko’s hand and began fussing with his hair.
“What do you think of my costume, hm?” he asked you, straightening his halo before shooting you a grin. “Pretty great, huh?”
You just shrugged. “It looks like any other angel costume.”
His eyes widened, and he stared at you, open-mouthed, looking deeply offended. “What do you mean ‘just like any other angel costume’?” he demanded.
“White clothes, white wings, halo headband. It’s pretty basic, Gojo-senpai.”
“But nobody else has eyes like mine,” he pointed out.
“No,” you conceded, “but you’re also not showing them all off.”
“…All my what?”
“Your eyes. You’ve got six of them, don’t you?”
Though you fought hard to conceal your grin, the sound of Shoko’s snicker made it impossible, and you barely bit back a laugh.
Finally catching up to your joke, Gojo laughed too. “I think even if I could show all six eyes at the same time it would scare the normies too bad.”
“Yaga-sensei would probably have your ass for it, too,” Shoko added.
“Like how he has your ass for smoking on campus?” Geto asked her, dropping down to sit in the armchair adjacent to the couch, looking smug.
“You smoke on campus too,” she retorted.
He smirked. “Yes, but I don’t get caught like you do.”
“I’m gonna start ratting you out.”
“Sure you will.”
Rolling your eyes as the two upperclassmen bickered with each other, you turned your attention back to Gojo, and you were more than a little surprised to see how much closer to you he’d gotten, leaning down to look you in the eye, despite how he towered over your seated form.
“So,” he asked, “you gonna help me show off my Six Eyes or what?”
You blinked dumbly at him for a moment. “…What?”
He rolled his eyes, but there was still a smile on his face. “You’ve got paints right here—” he gestured to the table in front of you “— how else are the normies supposed to see all six of my eyes?”
Once you finally processed what he was suggesting, you bit back a grin. The idea was more than a little funny, but you couldn’t let him know you thought that. If he knew, it would go straight to his head, which was big enough already; you’d joked with Nanami more than once that if Gojo’s head got any bigger, he’d have a hard time walking upright.
“Well?” Gojo prodded, when you didn’t answer fast enough for his liking.
“Fine,” you sighed, “but only if you’ll sit down and shut up long enough for me to do it.”
He stood up straight, saluted you, then mimed zipping his lips shut and throwing away the key. Geto pretended to catch said key, and you shook your head at them, smiling slightly to yourself. As he settled himself on the floor in front of you, you thoroughly rinsed your brush, making sure none of the red paint still lingered in the bristles, then dipped it into the white paint on your palette.
When you turned your attention back to your senpai, you were somewhat startled to see him staring at you with wide, earnest eyes, though he’d stopped smiling for the time being. It unsettled you a bit, having his full, unimpeded focus on you like that, but… it wasn’t entirely unpleasant, if you were being honest with yourself. “Ready?”
He nodded eagerly, fulfilling your request for him to sit down and shut up. You wondered briefly if your wording had been too harsh, but decided there was no use dwelling on it anymore. You nodded back, then carefully began to make an outline of two more sets of eyes on his face: two extra eyes on each cheek, side by side under his real, already very striking eyes.
Your lines were far from perfect, but they were steady enough, so you were happy with them. You dipped your brush back in the paint whenever you started to run out, making sure the white covered everything inside each of the outlines. Giving all four spaces a chance to dry, you once again cleaned your brush as thoroughly as you could, then switched to the blue paint. It wasn’t an exact match for Gojo’s eyes, but you figured it was close enough that it wouldn’t matter in low lighting.
“You’re pretty good at this!” Haibara praised, dropping to sit beside you on the couch.
You felt your cheeks heat at his words. “Oh, uh. Thank you, but I’m not a professional, I’m just trying my best.”
“Well I think you’re doing a wonderful job,” your classmate insisted, practically beaming at you. You offered him a smile, then turned your attention to Gojo once again and— was he glaring at Haibara?
Gojo’s expression changed so quickly once he had your attention again that you couldn’t tell if you’d imagined him glaring or not, but you decided not to push it, since that would just wind up being awkward for everyone.
Just as carefully as you’d painted the whites of each of the eyes, you added the blue irises, trying to make the circles as perfect as you could, though trying to work on such a small space made that rather difficult. You did your best, and the end result was not as terrible as it could have been, you supposed.
Another thorough cleaning of your brush between colors, this time with the sounds of your classmates and upperclassmen chatting to each other as you worked, which came as a relief; when it was silent before, it had felt like everyone was staring at you, and it made you nervous.
It was still a bit unnerving to have Gojo staring at you the way he was, but there wasn’t really a way around that, so you chose to ignore the way it made your stomach flutter.
You dipped your brush into the black paint this time, placing pupils in the center of each eye. After getting a bit more paint on the brush, you added the faintest hint of an outline to the underside of each eye, wanting them to stand out a bit more against his already pale skin.
Once you finished, you sat back a bit, looking over your handiwork. The eyes looked fine, but it felt like something was missing, you just couldn’t figure out what.
“Eyelashes,” came Nanami’s voice from behind the couch.
“Huh?” you asked, turning your head to look at your classmate, your brows furrowed slightly with confusion.
“Eyelashes,” he repeated, voice just as disinterested as before. “That’s what they’re missing.” His eyes left Gojo’s face and met yours as he shrugged. “You were staring at them really hard, I figured you thought something was missing.”
“Thanks,” you said, a bit sheepishly. “I was trying to figure out what I was forgetting. I’ll add the lashes.”
Nanami just nodded, his expression unchanged, though you were pretty sure he was glad to have been of help. You nodded back, then turned back to Gojo once again.
After cleaning your brush in the now-murky glass of water, you switched back to the white paint, adding delicate lashes to each of the four eyes with light flicks of the brush, and even adding a few little touches to the irises to give them a bit more dimension.
The last few additions didn’t take long at all, and when you leaned back to look at your work again, you smiled. Nanami was right, they did look a lot better now that you’d added lashes to them. “Okay,” you said, dropping the brush back into the water now that you were satisfied with your work. “All done. You ready to see?”
Gojo’s expression lit up, and he nodded enthusiastically. Then, remembering he held the mirror in his lap, he picked it up, turning his head back and forth to get a good look at all four eyes. He looked absolutely giddy as he put the mirror down in his lap again to look up at you, but he said nothing. You were confused for a moment, then remembered.
“You can speak now, Gojo-senpai. I’m finished.”
He turned towards Geto then, snapping to get the other boy’s attention, then making grabby hands and pointing at his mouth. Geto also looked confused for a moment, then remembered that he had “stolen” the fake key that kept his classmate’s mouth locked shut. The raven haired boy rolled his eyes, then mimed tossing the key back to his friend. “You’re so weird.”
After “catching” the key, the frosty haired boy was quick to unlock his mouth, then stick his tongue out at his friend. “You’re just jealous that you’re not getting all the attention for once,” he retorted, but Geto just rolled his eyes again.
Turning back to you, Gojo was practically beaming. “You made me look so cool!” he exclaimed, then added, “Well, cooler, because I already looked cool, like always.”
“Oh yeah,” Shoko drawled. “You’re soooo cool, Gojo.”
“I am cool!” he insisted, pushing himself up off the floor as he scowled at her. “Your costume is just a sheet, you don’t get to talk to me about what’s cool.”
“Where did you say this party was again?” Haibara cut in, quickly dispelling the budding argument between the two upperclassmen.
Gojo beamed down at the younger boy. “It’s a surprise!” he said, a hint of mischief in his eyes. “But we need to get going if we wanna get there before it gets too crowded. C’mon!” He herded everyone up from their seats and towards the door of the common room, hyping up the party as much as he could. You brought up the rear of the group, but you paused when he turned back to face you.
“Thanks for painting these on for me,” he said, gesturing towards his face. “I appreciate it.”
He turned away again before you could say anything, but it took you a moment before you caught up with everyone again; Gojo had never thanked you for anything before, but you were glad that he did, even if it made your cheeks burn a little bit.
SWEET SWEET BABY — JACK HUGHES
part of the el!hughes au
summary: in which y/n (lovie) gives birth to their baby boy
warnings: reference to porn (?), birth
notes: THIS TAKES PLACE IN APRIL 2024! (2.8k words)
not my gif
“five more days.”
Jack’s voice breaks me out of my reading trance, my eyes tearing away from my book that sits propped up on my overly large bump.
“hmm?” i hum, wincing as the baby pushes against my bladder.
Jack just smiles, he has one hand resting on my lower stomach, and the other holding our two-year-old to his chest as she naps.
“five more days,” he repeats, his sentence broken up by a yawn. “until his due date.”
“if he can stay in here that long.” i joke. it’s an ongoing worry of mine, that our baby boy is gonna come before his due-date like his sister did.
“he’ll do it.” Jack says confidently, looking down at my stomach. “right, little guy?”
our son, as though knowing his father is talking to him, kicks directly at Jack’s hand on my bump, resulting in a wide grin from Jack.
“told ya, Lovie.” he looks back at me, “he’ll wait. he just told us so.”
“go take your nap!” i laugh, pushing at his legs with my foot.
“okay, well i’m taking her with me.” he sticks his tongue out at me as he stands up, clutching Eleanor tightly to his chest with his good arm as he does so.
“that’s fine with me. peace and quiet.” i sigh, “maybe i’ll actually get to finally finish my book.”
“you mean your porn?” Jack teases, bending over to press a kiss to my forehead.
“it’s not porn! it’s romance!”
“porn with a plot!” his words are spoken with a dismissive wave of his hand in his post-surgery sling as he walks toward our bedroom.
“shut up!” Luke’s voice drifts out from his bedroom, and i can only imagine him with his pillow pressed against his ear. “i don’t wanna hear your freaky sex talk! some of us are trying to have a pregame nap!”
Jack throws his head back in laughter, the tips of my ears turning red at Luke’s assumption.
“go to sleep, before you upset my son.” i huff, waving Jack off.
“our son can’t get upset yet.” he reminds me, his brows furrowing in confusion.
“i know. i said my son.” i tell him. “Luke.”
“oh my god.” Jack groans, rolling his eyes before he turns and finally disappears down the hallway.
i hear our bedroom door click shut and let out a sigh of contentment.
Jack hasn’t given me any room to breathe for the past couple days. ever since we hit one week until the due-date, which is how early i had El, Jack has been hovering nonstop, just in case the baby decides he’s ready to make his grand entrance. but finally, it’s the last game of the regular season tonight, and with Jack, Luke, and El all taking naps, i get a couple hours to myself.
just me, my book, and the unborn child in my womb that is currently dancing on my bladder.
i heave out a sigh, bookmarking my page and shutting my book, letting it fall to the couch as i struggle to push myself up.
damnit, i should’ve had Jack help me up to pee before he went to sleep.
i finally, successfully, rise from the couch, waddling over to the bathroom and making it to the toilet just in time.
after washing my hands, i head into the kitchen and grab myself a water bottle and the tupperware of pre-cut fruit that Jack had prepared for me this morning, before making my way back to the couch.
**
my head is pounding, light pains in my stomach as i sit on the floor, waiting up for Jack and Luke to get home.
the Devils lost to the Islanders 4-1, and i know both the boys are gonna need cheering up. even though Jack sat in a suite the entire game and didn’t play, i know he feels the loss just as hard as the rest of his teammates.
El is wired from her two naps of the day, currently decked out in a princess dress with a lab coat over it as she plays doctor, checking my bump for any ‘boo-boo’s, but i don’t have the energy to fight her on going to bed.
El’s play stethoscope is pressed against my bump, her wild blonde curls falling over her eyes as she looks down.
“mama.” she whispers, standing up straight and cupping my face.
“yes, lovely?” i coo, tucking a curl behind her ear.
“baby heart!” she points to my stomach, bending back down to press her plastic stethoscope against the stretched out fabric of my shirt.
“yeah? are you listening to the babies heart?” she nods enthusiastically, the stethoscope bouncing from its connection in her ears.
she rips it out though when she hears the front door unlock, her head snapping up towards the living room entrance, waiting to see who it is.
as soon as Jack rounds the corner, her little legs take off; her feet slapping against the hardwood floor as she runs over to him.
“daddy!” Jack’s face brightens at the sight of her, a small smile playing on his lips as he bends down, allowing El to wrap her arms around his neck.
“hi, lovely.” Jack presses a kiss to her cheek as she pulls back. “what are you still doing up? how come mommy didn’t put you to bed?”
“mommy, doesn’t have a single ounce of energy left to fight her into bed.” i sigh, letting my head fall back onto the sofa.
“uncle Luke’s got it.” Luke swoops in, pulling El up into his arms. “c’mon munchkin, you wanna wear your Elsa jammie’s tonight?”
“dark vader!” El screams, making Luke wince as he starts toward the hallways to her room.
“what has uncle Quinn done to you?” he shakes his head as they retreat.
Jack sighs, looking down at me on the floor. he huffs out a chuckle and shakes his head at me as i stretch grabby hands out to him, walking over and helping me up off the floor.
“you okay?” i run a hand through his overgrown hair, staring into his ocean blue eyes.
“yeah,” he starts, pausing when he sees me flinch. “are you?”
“mhm.” i nod, gritting my teeth as a sharp pain shoots through my abdomen and back.
“are you sure?” he asks, flattening the back of his hand to my forehead as if checking my temperature. i swat it away. “Lovie, if we need to go to the hospital, just tell me. better safe than sorry.”
“we don’t-” i’m cut off by El storming into the living room in her Darth Vader onesie, Luke chasing behind her with her toothbrush in hand.
“we gotta brush your teeth Ellie-Bug!” Luke catches up to her with his long legs, but not before she can try and scramble up my body, her hands pushing against my stomach and causing me to cringe in pain.
“alright, that’s it, we’re going.” Jack announces, stepping back.
“no.” i stand my ground, crossing my arms across my chest. “i’m fine, Jack. it’s just a few pains. nothing i can’t handle.”
and my words would’ve been believable, if it weren’t for the gush of liquid that begins to trickle down my legs.
“fuck.” i curse, squeezing my eyes shut as Jack retreats to the linen closet to retrieve a towel.
“mommy! potty! go!” El screams, her little index finger pointing towards the bathroom.
“no, lovely, mommy doesn’t need to potty.” i lift a foot as Jack sets a towel down to soak up the liquid, oddly calm given the circumstances.
“hey, sunshine,” Jack’s voice is soft as he squats down in front of our toddler. “you know how mommy and daddy have been telling you baby brother is in mommy’s tummy?”
“baby!” El squeals, making to come and rub my bump like she usually does, but Jack holds her back.
“yeah, a baby!” Jack grins, “well now baby brother is ready to come and meet you, doesn’t that sound fun?”
my eyes water at the calm and gentle approach he has to explaining the situation to our sweet girl, and how excited she seems to get as she nods her head.
“okay, so mommy and daddy are gonna go to the doctor’s, and uncle Luke is gonna stay here with you. is that okay?”
“yuke!” she shouts, her head whipping around to find Luke, who’s currently attending to me as i waddle towards my bedroom to get changed.
“i’m right here, munchkin.” Luke switches places with my husband, probably the better choice, as i’ll need someone to help me peel these leggings off and put new ones on, and i think Luke and i would both rather he not be the one to do it.
Jack makes quick work of helping me sit on our bed, peeling my leggings and underwear off before he helps me into new ones.
“you ready, love?” i question, suspiciously eyeing him and his strangely serene demeanor.
“shouldn’t i be asking you that question?” he smiles, helping me off the bed.
“oh, i know i’m not. but are you?” he guides me back out to the living room, past El’s bedroom, where i can hear Luke reading her a bedtime story, and towards the front door.
“yeah.” he nods as he opens the door. “i’m ready.”
“oh good. then, can you push him out for me?” Jack laughs loudly, helping me into the car.
“unfortunately, i can’t do that.” he reminds me, my lips turning down in a frown. “but i’ll tell you what i can do.”
he pauses to round the car, sliding into the drivers seat. his hand slips into mine, lacing our fingers together as he looks into my eyes.
“i can hold your hand, and remind you that at the end of all that pushing, we’re gonna have our baby boy.” his forehead rests against mine, dipping down to kiss my lips before he pulls away and begins driving to the hospital.
“fuck you and your sweet words.” i sigh, gripping the car door and squeezing his hand as another contraction comes along. “shit!”
**
sweat drips down my forehead as i push. Jack stands beside me, his hand tightly clutched in mine as he whispers reassuring words in my ear.
“i want my mom!” i sob, tears streaming down my cheeks as i stop pushing, looking towards Jack, who’s eyes are welled up with tears.
“i’m sorry,-” he pushes my hair back from sticking to my forehead.
“i want Ellen!” i clarify, squeezing my eyes shut as another contraction hits and i’m forced to begin pushing again.
“oh lovie,” my husband coos, resting his forehead against the side of my head. “mom is on her way. i promise.”
we were lucky in the sense that Ellen and Jim had already flew into town yesterday to attend the boys game tonight and wait for baby boy to arrive. but my labor happened so fast, that he had just gotten ahold of Ellen before i was told it was time to push.
“okay, take a breath, y/n.” the doctor speaks, “i can see his head crowning so this next push should be it.”
i take three deep breaths before i feel another contraction, pushing one last time before the sound of infant cries fill the room.
Jack squeezes my hand as i fall back on the hospital bed, after labor chills making my body shake.
“good job, mom!” the doctor cheers, “you have a seemingly healthy baby boy!”
the nurse rests him against my chest, handing him over to me, and i let out another sob at the sight of him.
“oh-” i stare down at his sweet face, running a finger along his cheek. “Jacky, he has your nose.”
i glance up at my husband, who looks at our baby with so much love; as if he’s the greatest thing in the world. his tears have finally spilled over, his hand reaching out to hold the back of our son’s head.
“he’s perfect, lovie.” his voice breaks, catching in his throat mid-sentence.
“our perfect baby boy.”
**
“he’s an angel.” Ellen coos, staring down at the baby in her arms.
“isn’t he perfect?” i smile softly, still waking up from my nap.
its now eight in the morning, and after the four a.m. birth and then first feeding an hour later, i only got three hours of sleep before Jack woke me up and told me his mother was getting restless to see her grandson and he knew i wanted to witness the meeting.
Luke and El should be arriving any moment, so we’re letting Jim and Ellen meet him before they get here.
“absolutely perfect.” Ellen smiles, looking back at Jack and i. my husband lays beside me in the hospital bed, his head resting on my shoulder as he snores.
i can’t imagine how tired he must be. he stayed awake the entire time i napped, just admiring our baby boy and attempting to do some one armed skin-on-skin with the help of a nurse; who advised better of my husband than to use his other arm, which is still in a sling after his shoulder surgery just six days prior.
“he has Jack’s nose.” Jim chuckles as his wife hands the baby off to him.
“that’s what i said.” i grin, turning my head to look down at my sleeping soulmate. i crane my neck, pecking a kiss to his nose, which makes him scrunch it in his sleep.
the room door swings open, Luke stepping through with El clutched in his arms, and i carefully shake Jack awake.
“hmm?” he groans, his eyes fluttering open before he sits up.
“El is here.” i whisper, just before our daughter squeals.
“mommy! daddy!” Luke sets her on the hospital bed and she clambers up our legs, gingerly settling down on Jack’s lap and wrapping her arms around his neck.
“hi, lovely. did you have a good night with uncle Luke?” Jack asks, huffing out a laugh at the sight of her messily done ponytail. she nods, her curls bouncing on top of her head.
“her hair is wild, don’t blame me.” Luke huffs, taking the baby from his father’s arms.
“oh my god, he’s precious.” Luke smiles softly at the baby in his arms as he walks toward the bed.
“you see your baby brother, El?” i question, and her eyes widen as Luke hands my son back to me.
my daughter’s lips part, her hand reaching out to touch the babies foot.
“baby?” she whispers, looking up at Jack and he nods.
“yeah, lovely. that’s the baby that was in mommy’s tummy.” her eyes flicker between the baby and my stomach at his words, and i giggle.
“yeah, there’s nothing in there anymore, lovebug.” i tell her.
“baby.” she repeats, her touch raising to his tiny hands.
“hey, mom?” Jack calls out, Ellen looking over at him with raised brows. “you mind facetiming Quinny?”
“yeah, of course.” she nods, digging her phone out of her purse.
i feel a slight twinge of guilt as i hear the facetime ring, feeling a little bad to be waking Quinn up at five in the morning on a game day, but i know he’ll be excited to see the baby.
“mom? what’s up?” Quinn’s voice is groggy when the call connects, and instead of answering, Ellen just hands the phone to Jack.
“hey, Quinny.” my husband grins, letting El wave hello to her uncle.
“hey Jacky, hi El-Bell.” Quinn rubs his eyes, sitting up in his bed. “what’s going on? i have a game tonight, bro.”
“i know. but, i thought you might wanna meet someone.” Jack flips the phone around, pointing it to me and i hold the baby up better so that Quinn can see.
“oh my god.” Quinn’s seemingly more awake now, bringing the phone closer to his face. “you had him.”
tears well in my eyes, an overwhelming sense of longing for my big brother figure’s presence creeping up on me as i nod.
“i had him.” i confirm.
“he’s beautiful, guys.” Quinn smiles as Jack slots himself and El into the frame, showing off all four of us. “what’s his name?”
i share a glance with Jack and he nods, giving me permission.
“Elio Quintin Hughes.” i smile softly, my tears spilling over my waterline as Quinn gapes.
i hear Ellen let out a little sob, and i glance over to find Jim pulling her in for a hug.
“you named him after… me?” Quinn asks, and even through the phone screen, i can see tears glistening in his eyes.
Jack nods.
“it only seemed right.” i explain. “if it weren’t for you, Jack and i wouldn’t have met. you guys are the family that i desperately wished for growing up, and if it weren’t for you, i wouldn’t have it now either.”
tears stain Quinn’s cheeks, “i love you, y/n. and you too, i guess, Jack.”
Jack laughs, huffing out a “we love you too.”
we stay on the call for another hour, letting El talk to her uncle, and us telling him how the birth went, before he excuses himself, telling us he should probably get a bit more sleep before morning skate.
Jack hands the phone back to Ellen, who snaps a picture of the four of us squished together in the hospital bed.
my little family.
Hi can u do a Jealous Kyle?(THXS)
"Yeah. But you're mine." --- (Kyle Brovloski)
SUMMARY: Eric has always had the feels for you but it's really starting to get to Kyle.
WARNING: Slight smut, just making out that's it. Nothing too serious, recording. :).
NOTES: I've written in first person before and I do like it better than second person idk if it's gonna stick just lmk what you think.
⸝⸝⸝⸝⸝
The lunch table around me is loud, I can barely hear any coherent conversations other than my own. I find myself shouting over the table, bickering with Eric. He glares at me smugly, a glassy film over his eyes. Usually it's Kyle who yells at him but I find that the space beside me has gone silent.
"Just shut up fatass!" I snap.
He snickers at me. "Only for you."
I cringe and shake my head, adverting my gaze to the untouched plate in front of me. It's likely cold by now from being so enthralled in my argument but it's much more appealing than looking at Eric's face. I'd rather look at death in the eyes than listen to Eric make such comments about me to my face. Eric has always flirted with me though, but I've never been interested in him. It's been happening everyday since fourth grade and occasionally I stop to think; If I just said me and Kyle were dating he might stop but for the sake of my privacy, I say nothing. At the start of our relationship, we agreed to not tell anyone so we could keep it to ourselves. I was and still am perfectly fine with that, until Eric started flirting with me again.
"I'm going to go roll me one, y'all coming with me?" Kenny pipes up from the end of the table.
Kyle's hand grips mine as he stands to his feet, turning everyone's attention to us. "I'm coming." He announces. After being quiet this whole time, I feel surprised to see him suddenly jumping to volunteer for skipping class. That's not much like Kyle at all.
When we snuck out the back with our stuff, there were five of us, Kyle, Kenny, Stan, Craig, and I. Sneaking out was almost a hassle but we all managed to get away unscathed, leaving the rest of our friends behind. Now that I'm further away from school, I can collect my thoughts. Kyle never wants to openly skip like that, especially not to smoke weed.
"You sure you wanna smoke with us?" Kenny asks, looking at Kyle with curiosity. Looking over at Kenny, he shakes his head. With my hand in his, he lightly tugs me closer to his side.
"I just wanted to get out." Kyle admits sheepishly before looking ahead.
I watch Kenny's eyes widen, exchanging glances with Stan in surprise. I was honestly thinking the same thing, Kyle hasn't smoked a blunt a single day of his life and he suddenly went to smoke with Kenny. Now I know that's not actually true but that he wanted out and that never happens. Something about this whole thing is off, from openly holding hands to skipping school. It's just not like Kyle.
"If you don't mind I'm going to my car." Kyle points back towards the student parking with his thumb. Everyone bids us goodbye and he begins to pull me towards his parking spot. The silence between us feels thick on the walk over, his grip on my hand is tight. So tight that my palms are beginning to sweat. I look up at Kyle, his face is contorted into disgust and discomfort, in his eyes dances a quiet anger. One that I know is settled in his belly. I don't say anything until we reach the car, close our doors and settle in. At first I'm honestly unsure of what to say, he doesn't seem sad, but he seemed disappointed and angry. Like he's confused on what to feel and it confuses me.
"Hey." Kyle is looking out the back windshield, his arm spread to the back of my seat for leverage while he backs out. He's not looking at me. I wait until he's at a stop at the exit to grab his attention back. "Kyle, I need you to pull over up here." Kyle wat he's where I'm pointing. Though he's looking with furrowed brows and wandering eyes, he does what I ask and pulls over onto the aide of the road. His gaze meets mine, he's questioning me silently, confused by what I'm doing. I know he wants answers but I take a second to put the car in Park for him.
"Why?" He finally asks stiffly. I look back up, meeting his gaze. His eyes are searching mine for any clues. Softly taking his hand into mine and intertwining our fingers, I frown at him. There's just something he's not telling me, it's been happening for a while now. I just didn't know how to address it.
"Is something wrong?"
His face scrunches up. "What? No, Why- I'm good." Fumbling his words, Kyle shuts his lips. His gaze starts to shift away from mine, looking out the windows at other things. He's biting his lower lip, rolling it between his teeth before repeating it again. I squeeze his hand, pulling his attention back to me.
"Baby, you're not acting right. Is something wrong? Be honest."
He stares at me with contemplation falling over his looks, he's looking from my eyes, to my lips, to my hands, and finally back at my eyes. "Kinda." He says, lowering his gaze from mine and shaking his head. Suddenly a smile breaks out on my face, I knew he would say something sooner or later. A little convincing is all he needed, that satisfies a part of me that looks out for him, the one that feeds off his emotions. Not in a bad way of course.
"Tell me, I'm listening." My thumb softly brushes over his knuckles, smoothing out the skin there in time. It's a soft way to let him know I'm here, that he can speak to me. Kyle tends to shut down over certain things, some of which I haven't exactly figured out yet, but his well being matters to me. That includes whatever this is.
Slowly, Kyle shakes his head again. "I just don't like the way Cartman treats you." His eyes meet mine again. "He flirts with you all the time and it pisses me off." Venom flares from his tongue, creating a hateful edge in his voice that tells me he's annoyed. I can't help but wonder if it's because he doesn't trust me or if it's just him becoming uncomfortable.
"I'm not going to let him do anything. I promise." I squeeze his hand again, just to accentuate what I said but he shakes his head again.
"it's not that I don't trust you, it's that I don't trust him. Sure, you could ignore him or tell him off but what's going to stop him from continuously thinking of you like that." A shudder rolls off his shoulders. "I don't like the thought of that."
"I don't either, but it's best if we leave it be. It's been almost seven years and he hasn't made a real move yet. I'm sure it's fine." Part of it is true but the other half doesn't feel as reassuring outside of my head, really my only goal is to sooth Kyle's worries but I seem to be interjecting myself now. He scoffs at my words and I furrow my brows. His eyes shift from discomfort to stern and sharp, an assured glare in his gaze. Maybe not directed towards me, but it sure feels like it.
"Yes, but you're mine." The roughness in his voice washes over me in a rain of tingling sensations, like tiny pellets raining down from the sky, pelting my skin. A shudder runs down my spine again. "I don't like him thinking he has a chance with you at all." Kyle finishes. Frustratedly, he points back at the school and groans at the end. Laughing softly and taking my hand away from his, I cup his cheek with it. The grin on my face can't be helped and neither can the heat, but I press forth.
"Yes, I'm yours. But maybe you should give him a reason to stop."
Suddenly it's like a fire lights up in his eyes, creating an evil grin right along with it. The cogs turning in his head are so obvious that I can practically feel the thought forming in his head. I'm unable to get my own thoughts out before he snaps his seatbelt back and presses a hard kiss on my lips. I hum in shock, my chest squeezing strangely in response. Roughly, our lips move together, a sort of sloppy manner tied in with it. Along my shoulders are his hands almost daring to pin me back against the seat and climb over. Still, they are teasingly holding me in place. I can feel one of his hands disappear from my shoulder but I'm not really looking to see what he's doing.
His teeth sink harshly into my bottom lip, pain shooting through it. Opening my mouth with a gasp, a small noise that can only be heard as a moan escapes me. Kyle begins to smile into the kiss, his other hand sliding down to my waist while slipping his tongue into my mouth. We've made out before but it's never been this intense before. I can even feel the tension building in the pit of my stomach, the kind that begs for attention. I didn't mean for it to slip out, but when it did I think both me and Kyle were shocked. "Please." The whimper is nothing more than a pathetic cry for attention, something that hitches the breath in the back of his throat for just a moment before he pulls away grinning like crazy.
"Yeah. That's right, beg for me." Callous in his voice sends a feeling of arousal between my legs, I squeeze them together in hopes of creating more but I get nothing in response.
"God damnit, Kyle." I huff.
Very slowly, with hazy half-lit eyes, Kyle pulls away. That's when I hear it, the sound of my own small plea repeating itself. My stomach twists, Kyle lifts his phone to reveal the whole thing on recording. My cheeks flood with heat and I look away, shy.
"I'm saving that for me." He mutters.
Looking back over I can see him saving it to his phone before opening up his messages. That's when I realized the name at the top is Eric's. Face red as ever I look back up at Kyle, my lips slightly agape and eyes wide. "Shit, that was hot."
Kyle snorts. Clicking the phone off, he looks at me. "I know it was. But it won't be for him."
"What if everyone sees?" I ask.
He puts the car back in drive with a proud grin on his lips. "They can look all they want." His hand comes to rest on my knee, squeezing softly. "At least they'll know you're mine."
hi! what about: "rest my head in your lap, feeling fully restored" from your prompts if you're feeling it <3 ty!
12. Rest my head in your lap, feeling fully restored
<3 <3 <3
“What can I bring you?” Buck asks, voice doing nothing to hide his concern. Tommy had called to let him know him he had a bad migraine and wouldn’t be great company, telling him he could come over the next day, instead. Of course Buck being who he is, insisted on coming over to help- he couldn’t just do nothing.
He hears Tommy sigh over the phone and smiles at how easily he yields to him, not in a controlling asshole kind of way, but it makes him happy, to know Tommy trusts him, in more ways than one.
“It’s gonna sound weird,” Tommy says, “but an order of salty fries and a cold bottle of coke would actually help a lot. I would have gone out myself, but just the thought of sunlight hitting my eyes- ”
“Hey, don’t sweat it, one order of fries and a coke coming right up,” he promises. He actually doesn’t find Tommy’s migraine coping method that weird, he’d seen friends try any number of things, in their desperation- the sodium, caffeine, and sugar make sense. “Try to get some rest. Unfortunately, we can’t all fly helicopters and crosstown traffic’s a bitch, but I’ll see you in about an hour, okay?”
Tommy chuckles, then groans in pain on the other end and even though a migraine is, objectively, not a big deal compared to their job incidents, it still pains Buck to know he’s suffering at all. “Sounds good,” he mumbles. “Thank you, love you.”
“Love you, too.”
As promised, an hour later, Buck’s letting himself in Tommy’s house and he tries to be quiet, in case he did manage to fall asleep. He rubs his thumb down the little LAFD helicopter keychain Tommy had given him, along with a key just a few weeks back. It still gives him butterflies to think about.
“Evan, s’that you?”
The living room is cool and dark, but Buck makes out the lump laying face-down on the floor that is his boyfriend. He chuckles, “yeah baby, I got the good stuff.” He holds out the bag of fries and coke bottle, which is silly, now that he thinks about it, since Tommy can’t see from his place in the floor.
He toes off his shoes by the door and shuffles over to Tommy as gently as he can so as to not rattle the boards. He sets the goods on the coffee table and settles on the floor next to him. “Do you think you can sit up long enough to eat?” He rubs his neck soothingly.
Tommy grunts, reluctant to move, but shoots out a hand to squeeze Buck’s ankle in thanks. “Yeah,” he sighs, “just give me a minute.”
“Of course.” Buck continues rubbing circles up and down his neck and back, until some of the tension bleeds from Tommy’s body. Slowly he pushes off from the floor and Buck gets his arms around him to help him sit up and against the couch.
“Hi,” he smiles. “I’m glad you’re here.”
“Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” Buck tells him truthfully. “Now, how about these fries?”
“Yes, please.”
Buck grabs the box of fries from the bag and hands them to Tommy, who immediately grabs a handful and stuffs them in his mouth. Buck laughs, grateful every time he gets to see a new side of Tommy, especially when it comes to the little things.
“What?” Tommy asks around a cheek-full of fries. “Nothing, I just love you.” He opens the bottle of coke next and passes it to Tommy. “Wash down those fries before you choke,” he instructs, in what the 118 would describe as his “clipboard Buck” tone. Whatever.
“Sir, yes sir,” Tommy mock salutes with two fingers and takes a long swig of coke. “Ah, that’s the stuff,” he sighs happily, which is a good sign, so Buck will take it. They pass the time it takes Tommy to finish the rest in comfortable silence. Then, Buck gets up to clear the trash and rummages in the kitchen for a heating pack and an ice back.
He brings both with him and sits back down on the floor, and moves Tommy to lie down, until he’s perpendicular to where Buck is sitting, then tenderly lifts his head onto his lap, pressing the heating pad on his neck and the cold pack on his forehead.
“Ohh, that feels nice,” Tommy moans in relief. “How’d you know?”
“I might have done some research while I was waiting in the drive-thru line,” Buck admits.
“You’re the best, Evan” his eyes are closed, but a smile dances across that handsome jaw. “An angel, truly.”
“Anytime,” Buck whispers. They sit in silence, as he gently massages Tommy’s head, occasionally dipping down to rub his temples.
“Feeling any better?” He checks in after some time.
“Mhm, much,” Tommy affirms, finally opening his eyes, and reaches up to cup the side of Buck’s face. “More or less restored, all thanks to you. Any chance I can request Dr. Buckley for all my future medical needs?”
Buck smiles and turns to kiss his palm, “I think that can be arranged.”
Prisoner!Negan x Gn!Reader
Prompt: “This can’t get any worse, can it?” // “Sure it can, just give me a minute.”
A/N: I am IN LOVE with prisoner Negan, I try to keep my best to keep gender out of my posts, in case there is males(like myself), or another gender identity wanting to read. Maybe when i get used to writing i’ll make actual one shots (maybe multi chapters) but until then i’m sticking to prompt quotes. Enjoy, send feedback, and ideas you might want me to write!
(stay tuned for the next few days because i may or may be trying to write a one shot!)
You were the one responsible for checking in, and giving food, to Negan. You got it by being one of the calmest in stressful situations. Ever since you’ve known Negan, he’s always been a thorn on a rose stem. Annoying you any chance he can get. Although never knowing exactly why he loves doing it so much.
“Hey Negan, Got your food.” You say as you enter the room where his cell was. Bringing the food you always served, a sandwich. Although he never seems pleased with what food you give him.
“What’s in the menu today?” He didn’t look towards you, just laying in his cot with his stare at the ceiling. Sometime you feel like you should pity this man, but then you remember what he’s done and that thought quickly went away.
“Like usual, a sandwich.” You spoke, holding out the sandwich, but it seems he has no interest in taking it. It upset you when he got like this, like he was trying to starve himself to death. Rick gave you this position to make sure he stays alive, but if he doesn’t eat you failed Rick.
“One of the kids here would love that more than I would, sweetheart.” His grin back, as he sat up on his cot. Still, he isn’t fully getting up to take it. You can’t force him to eat it, but you have to try.
“Negan, just take the sandwich.” You glare at him, hoping your, now, position of power over him will make him listen. Still no sign he’s getting up.
“This can’t get any worse, can it?” He sighed, his gaze went from you to the floor. Again you wanted to pity him, but you just can’t.
“Sure it can, just give me a minute.” The corners of your mouth tugging into a smirk, as you grab your pocket knife. No, you weren’t actually going to do anything, but maybe it will give him a reason to eat.
“God, Darlin’.. Don’t be such a turn on.” It almost sounded like he groaned out the pet name. He finally stood up with that atrocious remark. Smirking the entire way when he grabbed the sandwich from you and returned back to his cot. “Might make me want to live.”
Your eyes closed partly, squinting at him. “You think you’d want to live.. because ‘i’m a turn on’?” You let out a short huff and put your pocket knife away. “You know how stupid that sounds?”
His eyes glanced back up to you, speaking in between slow bites of his food. “Not as stupid as my thoughts, Darlin’. Especially when you’re in them.” He bit his lip, looking you up and down. You almost felt exposed, even when you didn’t specifically do anything.
“Negan, watch your mouth.” You spoke with clear irritation, you almost have a feeling of endearment, if it weren’t for who you were talking to. “and your eyes.”
He let out a chuckle, leaning back in his cot. “My eyes wonder. What can I say, they’re attracted by beauty.” He either found you attractive, and was attempting at flirting, or he was just trying to annoy you.
“I wish I wasn’t messing around when I pulled my knife out.” Your hand found their way to your pockets.
instead of you [part thirty-two] || l.mh
pairing: [best friend’s brother] lee minho x college!reader ft. han jisung
summary: you didn’t expect to spend your summer pretending to be your best friend’s girlfriend- then again, you didn’t expect to fall for your best friend’s brother, either.
warnings: swearing, angst, mentions of sex (mdni ; 18+)
word count: 2.2k
a/n: revamped my tom holland series from my main blog ( @wazzupmrstark ) to try and motivate myself to finish it!!
series masterlist | early access to the next chapter on ko-fi
The first time you met Jisung was at a party on campus. It was a month into your first semester of college and one of the frats had passed out fliers in the residence halls in the hopes of getting lots of the freshman girls to attend.
You had dragged your roommate with you, insisting that you needed to get out there and start meeting people since you were each other’s only friends thus far.
But the joke was on you because she ditched you not even five minutes after arriving, having recognized an ex-boyfriend from her hometown. You didn’t hold it against her, you had been the one to convince her to come in the first place and you understood the whole ex thing.
But you were a lot shyer back then, less confident. So you stumbled your way through the house until you reached the kitchen. No one had offered to make you a drink yet so you figured you might as well make one yourself. You’d need a little liquid courage if you were going to get the balls to talk to any of these people anyway.
That’s where you ran into Jisung. He was bent over the stove cooking what looked to be a grilled cheese sandwich. He turned his head when he heard you come in and nodded at you in acknowledgement.
“Want one?” he asked.
“What is it?”
“Grilled ham and cheese.”
You nodded. “Hit me.”
He finished simmering the one in the pan and slid it onto a paper plate before grabbing the ingredients for yours.
“How long have you lived here?” you asked conversationally.
“Oh, I don’t live here.”
“Are you a pledge then?”
“No.”
“You’re not… affiliated with this frat?”
“Nope.”
“Are your friends?”
“Nah.”
“So you’re just…”
“Stealing their food? Kind of.”
You shrugged. “I won’t tell.”
He cracked a smile. “Good, because I’d really regret making you a sandwich if you did.”
You hadn’t noticed until that point but he had an accent.
“English?” you asked.
“Yes, that’s what we’re speaking. Why, do you know another language?”
You rolled your eyes. “You know what I meant.”
“No, I’m from Korea, actually,” he explained after chuckling. “But my English tutor was British so I picked up a little bit of an accent.”
“What made you decide to come all the way over here?”
“A mix of things, really, he sighed.
“You’re probably tired of that question, I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay. I just don’t have an interesting answer or anything so conversations usually fizzle out after that.”
“I get it. It’s like when everyone in your hometown asks you what you’re going to study and what job you’re getting your degree for.”
“Pretty much,” he agreed. “Your grilled cheese is ready.”
He plated the sandwich and handed it to you, turning the stove off and depositing the pan and spatula in the sink.
“Thank you!”
“You might want to let it cool down a bit, though.”
“Yes, chef.”
He gave you a look, making you freeze in place.
“What? Should I not call you that?”
“No, it’s just- I’m a culinary major. I’m always saying that to my professors but no one’s ever said that to me before. I know you didn’t mean it mean it but it sounded weird.”
“I was just referencing Hell’s Kitchen,” you admitted.
“Just so you know, not all chefs are like Gordon Ramsay.”
“Only the majority?”
He winked at you. “Bingo.”
“So if you don’t want me to call you ‘chef’, what should I call you?”
“I never said I didn’t want you to call me that,” he clarified. “But you can call me Jisung.”
“Jisung. Nice name.”
“Thanks. Do you have one?”
You grinned. “I do.”
He gave an exasperated little sigh. “And what is it?”
You told him, leaning forward and whispering it like it was a secret.
“You have a nice name too.”
“Thank you.”
“By the way, your sandwich should be cool enough to eat by now.”
You leaned back against the island and took a bite of your grilled cheese. Jisung gauged your reaction, raising his eyebrows expectantly.
“Good?”
“Great. Best grilled cheese sandwich I’ve ever had.”
“Don’t fuck with me,” he warned.
“I’m not! Listen, I can’t cook for shit so I’m very easy to impress.”
“I’ll take your word for it. It’s better for my ego if I ignore the last part.”
“I can make a mean Moscow Mule, though. My talents lie in mixology, not gastronomy.”
“Make me a drink, then?” he asked.
“Gladly.”
You set your paper plate on the counter and made your way over to the fridge.
“Let’s see what they have in here.”
“Oh, now you’re the one stealing food?”
“Guess that makes us partners in crime.”
You fell silent as you looked over the contents of the refrigerator, gathering a bottle of orange juice and half-empty jar of raspberry jam. You checked the expiration dates before continuing because you didn’t trust frat guys and then set them on the island with a handle of tequila that had been left out.
Jisung watched as you spooned the jam into an empty solo cup, visibly skeptical. You couldn’t blame him for not trusting you, you had just met him, after all. You poured the orange juice in next and mixed the two together, finally adding a shot and a half of tequila.
“Don’t want to get you too drunk,” you explained.
He scoffed. “You think that’ll do me in? I’m Korean, remember?”
“Fine, suit yourself.”
You poured what you approximated to be another shot of tequila into the cup. You filled another cup with ice from a nearby cooler and poured the contents of the first cup into it. Instead of shaking them and risking making a huge mess, you rolled them between the cups until you were satisfied that everything was properly mixed.
You presented Jisung with your creation, eyes shining. “Here you go! It’s a makeshift tequila sunrise.”
Jisung reached for it but you stopped him abruptly. “Wait! Hold on.”
You took a sip of the drink yourself, just to make sure it was actually palatable, before passing it off to him.
“Sorry, wanted to check.”
“Not confident in your abilities all of the sudden?“ he mused.
“I’m trying something new,” you grumbled defensively, “artists make mistakes. I’m not above admitting that and therefore want to quality check my products to make sure it’s good enough for my consumers.”
“Didn’t realize you were taking this so seriously.”
“I take everything seriously.”
He eyed you suspiciously. “Something tells me that’s not true.”
-
That night, and all the others you spent with Jisung flashed before your eyes like some sort of sick slideshow as you stood there with him in the hallway. The fractures in the glass were beyond repair now, spindling inward threatening to shatter.
You supposed it was what you deserved, watching your relationship with your best friend crumble right in front of you.
“Why do you ask?” you said quietly, still testing the waters.
“You think I haven’t noticed you sneaking off every night?” Jisung demanded.
“Uh-”
“At first, I thought you just needed some space. And I understood because you’ve been stuck with us for over a month now, but then it happened every night and you’d be gone for so long,” he sighed. “So finally, I followed you-”
“You what?”
“I know, I’m such a bad friend for invading your privacy.” His voice was dripping with sarcasm and you could already feel the tears welling up.
You tried to hold them back because you didn’t deserve to cry. You’d put yourself in this situation, and you knew it was wrong, but you still did it anyway. You clutched your towel closer to your body, trying to shrink into yourself.
“I heard what I needed to,” he continued. “So how long have you been fucking my brother?”
“Jisung, I-”
“I asked you a question.”
“Long enough,” you muttered. “He found out we weren’t actually dating. I didn’t tell him-”
“That makes it better?”
“No, I just thought you should know.”
“What does it matter anyway,” he spat. “We had an agreement. You had one task and you couldn’t even do it. I should have never invited you on this goddamn trip.”
You couldn’t help but agree. “I’m sorry.”
Jisung laughed humorlessly and shook his head. “I don’t believe you. If you actually felt any guilt over this you never would have done it. Or you would’ve at least stopped before it got to this point.”
“No, I am sorry,” you tried. “It’s just…”
“Just what?” he asked, eyes widening suddenly. “You’re not pregnant, are you?”
For a fraction of a second, you were thrown back in time. The best friend that didn’t hate you was suddenly standing in front of you, eyes full of concern. It passed just as quickly as it had come when you denied it.
“No, it’s just… I f- I’m in love with him.” You couldn’t even look Jisung in the eye when you said it, too afraid of his reaction.
It was dead silent all throughout the house after your confession. You stared at the floor where a puddle had appeared at your feet from your dripping hair.
He chuckled again in disbelief, breaking the silence.
“You’re not in love with him,” he said matter-of-factly. “You don’t even know what love feels like. You’ve only known him for a fucking month, how could you possibly love him?” You were crying now, furiously wiping away the tears that fell onto your cheeks. “You’re just lonely, y/n, and desperate, and grasping at straws for anything that feels like ‘love’.”
“That’s not true,” you insisted. You weren’t sure why you were trying to defend yourself. He was probably right.
“It is true! I’ve known you for how many years now? You’ve never had a real relationship with anybody. How could you possibly know what love feels like?”
You shook your head adamantly, convincing yourself he didn’t mean what he was saying. “You’re lashing out.”
“Is it lashing out if it’s true?” he quipped.
You swallowed hard, choking a bit.
“I can’t fucking believe this. My best friend and my brother. I went away to school to be on my own and have my own life, and somehow Minho manages to take that too.” He was mostly talking to himself now. “What if someone else had caught you two? How fucked up would that have looked? I put no flirting with my brothers on the list of rules for a reason, obviously. Although I guess it didn’t matter in the end anyway, did it? You didn’t take them or this seriously.”
“Ji, that’s not true and you know that. I’m the one who wrote out those flashcards. I memorized all that stuff about your family. I flew halfway around the world for you— I did take it seriously.”
“Until Minho offered his dick to you on a silver platter?”
“Oh my god!”
“Am I wrong?”
You sighed. “It’s a lot more complicated than that.”
“Explain it to me then. When did this all start anyway?”
“Minho kissed me for the first time in, um, Italy.”
“Oh my god, I’m the biggest fucking idiot in the world,” he groaned.
“But it wasn’t like that then… he still thought we were together then.”
Jisung threw his hands up. “That makes it worse!”
“I know but he was drunk.”
“That’s not an excuse. You of all people should know that.”
You let the dig slide since he was in an emotional state and you were in no position to argue anyway.
“I know.”
“So you guys have been sneaking around behind my back for like a fucking month now?”
“We didn’t sleep together until Shanghai, when he found out we weren’t together. But I feel like I should tell you I kissed him in Japan. Just so that you know everything.”
“Oh, thank you so much,” Jisung deadpanned. “Thank you for being so honest.” He spat the last word at you, which again, was deserved, but hurt nonetheless. You sniffled. “I can’t believe you’re the one crying right now.”
You couldn’t believe that Jisung wasn’t crying but then again he wasn’t the type to cry when he was angry. He only cried when he was sad, and that probably hadn’t hit him yet.
You were starting to get cold wearing nothing but a towel but tried not to let it show. Of course, Jisung noticed instantly. He sighed as you shivered and pursed his lips. Even when he was furious with you, even when your relationship was irreparably damaged, he cared about you. It wasn’t something he could just turn off, though maybe with time, he’d learn to.
“Anyway, go to bed. I’m going to sleep on the couch.”
“O-okay,” you mumbled.
Jisung brushed past you abruptly, muttering to himself loud enough for you to hear.
“God, I wish I’d never fucking met you that night.”
You bit down on your lip as hard as possible to choke down a sob. All you could do was stand there motionlessly and stare at the floor. You waited for him to walk away into the living room but the footsteps stopped suddenly.
“Oh, and a word of advice-”
“Hm?” You turned around to face him, trying your best to pull yourself together.
“You should try getting over your feelings for Minho as fast as possible. He doesn’t love you back. He’s just using you, babe. I know he’s pretty smooth but that’s why he’s so good at his job. Easier said than done, I know, but you’re a smart girl. You’ll figure it out.”
hard one to write (and i imagine to read) but lmk what you think i always appreciate feedback!!
farewell flights
tsukishima kei x gn!reader ; simple fluff, 732 words, no y/n used
“I’ll be fine Kei, don’t worry!! I’m only flying for an hour!” I think deep down, I’m not only trying to convince him but also myself. I hate flying, I hate being stuck in a metal tube crowded next to people who cough obnoxiously loud and screaming children. Yet, I have a work conference to go to and while I’m excited to be there, I’m not excited about getting there. “Are you trying to convince me or yourself?” Kei says with that obnoxiously smug look on his face. “I’m just openly stating the obvious, that I'll be fine amongst the dozen of other people at the airport as well.” I say with a huff, that bastard didn’t have to call me out. “So…you’re definitely trying to convince yourself. Let’s go, if we leave any later we’re going to bump into traffic.” Kei promptly grabs his phone and the keys. I take one last look at my luggage seeing if I have everything I need until Kei interrupts me. “You’ll be back here in no time, remember only a day? Now stop stalling and let’s actually get through the door.” While on the way to the airport, my nerves take over and suddenly my fingers look like the most interesting thing to me but as soon as I start plucking at my cuticles, Kei pulls my hand to hold it. “I would sleep for an hour, especially since you were tossing and turning all night. I’ll also be sleeping for another hour due to your tossing and turning. “Think of it like this, we'll both be sleeping, you’re just in the sky.” Kei’s looking forward but I can see the reassuring look on his face. “Are you going soft on me right now? Wow, you really are going to miss me if you’re saying that.” Part of me will miss him, even if it’s only for a day but right now in this car, I would rather do anything than tell him. Pulling up to the airport, I know I have a commitment to upkeep but pretending I'm sick would also be ok, right? Kei gives me a knowing look as if he knows that i’m overthinking, he suddenly squeezes my hand. “Why overthink? It’ll only be for twenty four hours and for one of those hours you’re on a flight and for another maybe six hours you’ll be working. One of those six hours you’ll be doing a presentation you practiced for, you have no reason to be nervous.” He then puts the car in park to get out my luggage in the back. With a deep exhale, I reassure myself that I'll be to and from safely and Kei is just a phone call away. “You have your phone? Your carryon? Your passport?” With every item Kei lists I find myself silently nodding because instead of sleeping soundly last night I mentally made sure these items were at hand. “Can you stop sighing? Traveling is fun, you’re gonna be in a nice hotel and you’re gonna be safe with your coworkers. Plus if you miss me, I’m only a call away.” Kei stops to touch my shoulder and brings me into a hug. Now usually Kei isn’t one for PDA but every once in a while he makes an exception. Exceptions for moments like this where all I need is him, him to physically tell me i’m going to be alright with a single touch. When I pull away I see him closing his eyes tightly as if he were asking a higher being to keep me safe on my travels. “I love you, call me when you land alright?” I grin and kiss his cheek. “I thought you were going to be sleeping for an hour?” He gives me a deathly glare as I imagine lightning behind him. “Maybe I’ll be asleep, maybe I'll be awake waiting for a certain someone to land, who knows?” With one last look I start picking myself and my nerves up. “I love you too, Kei. I’ll be waiting to land just so I can call you, don’t worry.” He rolls his eyes and lets out a breathy chuckle. As I start walking, I realize I’ll be fine not just because I’m already at the airport but because behind me I have someone who I know that’ll be waiting for me as I get back.
i only want you
satoru gojo x fem reader, 900 words, nsfw mdni
in which you receive an unwelcome(?) visitor
contents: pure smut, hatefucking, unprotected sex, yan gojo vibes, dual pov, post-cube gojo, enemies to enemies who hook up sometimes, consensual non consent, reader fights back but they’re both into it
notes: don’t read if you’re not into cnc. very unfinished, unproofread, all that good stuff. i think this is the first genuinely toxic thing i’ve posted on here so that’s a milestone if you like kind of thing.
also, this is getting embarrassing. someone needs to sit me down and make me write for someone other than gojo i swear i don’t even like him that much.
By the grace of whatever god might be out there, you’re alone when Satoru Gojo finally gets out of the prison realm. You haven’t paid much attention to the progress on his escape, assuming he’ll come find you as soon as he’s out, and this theory is proven correct when he warps into your home unannounced one chilly afternoon.
You jump as his arms wind around you, pulling you against a body that is much bigger than you remember. “Did you miss me?”
“No,” you spit, struggling to break his hold. “Get the hell away from me.”
Gojo sighs dreamily, unphased. “It’s good to be out of that damn cube. I spent the whole time thinking about you, y’know.”
He buries his face in your neck and inhales your scent, groaning when you grind against him in your attempts to escape. One hand snakes down to grab your hip bone, holding you still so that he can rut against you. Of course he’s caught you like this, dressed up in a little apron and half bent over the kitchen counter as you reach for the top shelf. Gojo thinks it must be fate’s way of smiling down on him.
He sucks a mark into your neck and you moan, making his hips jump forwards.
“You didn’t put this on just for me, did you?” The hand around your waist dives below the fabric of your apron, running his palm over your stomach.
You gasp at the sudden contact, which is an even better reaction than he was hoping for. It’s rare for you to slip up and show any weakness so early on. Usually those kinds of responses only come out after a couple orgasms, when you’re cockdrunk enough to ditch your pride and beg for him. Maybe you’re just as touchstarved as he is.
“Why the fuck would I put on an apron for you of all people?”
He lathes his tongue over your fresh bruise, savoring the taste of your skin. “Maybe it’s because you know we’re about to get messy.”
“No, it’s actually because I was about to make myself lunch. Not everything revolves around you.”
“Uh-huh. Sure it doesn’t.”
You can feel he’s already half hard, his erection pressing into your back as he rolls his hips against you.
“You’re so sweet to cook for me,” he says pressing a kiss to your temple. “Unfortunately we’re going to have to put our lunch date on hold. There are other things I need to attend to first.”
The hand on your hip moves to press against the back of your neck, shoving you down so that you’re bent over the counter. You shiver at the cold stone on your skin.
“Not quite as romantic as I’d like our reunion to be, but I really need you right now.”
He braces himself against the edge of the counter, pulling your shorts and panties down over your thighs. You try to wriggle out of his grip and his hand locks around your wrists.
“Nice try.”
His belt jingles as he sheds his pants, giving himself a few pumps before he runs the head of his cock up and down your slit. It pulls a delicious noise from you, and suddenly Gojo’s done playing around.
He buries himself inside you, forcing his cock deeper with short sharp thrusts until his hips are flush with yours. The guttural, open-mouthed moan that falls from his lips has you clenching around him.
“Fucking hell.” He leans back to admire the view, giving your ass a sharp smack. “Yeah, I needed this.”
You can’t even cry out at the pain of being stretched so suddenly. It’s as though the air has been punched out of your lungs, leaving you gasping when he thrusts into you again. You claw at the smooth surface of the counter top, trying to find something - anything - to hold onto. He grinds his hips against your body, keeping himself fully sheathed inside you.
“I can’t help but notice you’re not whining about protection this time,” he says, already panting. “You must’ve really missed this cock, huh?”
Your cheeks burn, though it takes a few more stolen breaths before you’ve recovered enough to reply. “Quit lying to yourself. Why don’t you go find some other woman to bother!”
“Can’t.” Another brutal thrust. “It has to be you. I only want you.”
“Is it that, or are you just - ngh - getting rejected?”
“Of course not. I’m serious when I say it has to be you. Can’t get off with anyone else. Trust me, I’ve tried.” He grins when he feels you clench down again. “Oh, you like that? Now who’s lying to themself.”
You swipe at him, clawing at his forearms. “Maybe you should try going back for a second date with that cube.”
One of his hands knots itself in your hair, pushing your face down until your cheek squishes against the counter. “Now that’s not very nice, though I’d consider it if you came with me. Think of how much fun we could have in there.”
“I’d rather die than be stuck in there with you. Fuck off Goj— ah!”
The feeling of his fingers between your legs has your mouth falling open as a violent moan tumbles from your lips.
“Aw, what was that you were saying?” he coos. “Don’t stop, baby. You know I love when you’re mouthy.”
I Win (Yandere Todoroki)
Basically yandere Todoroki after the fact that he had kidnapped you, and one day you guys have a fight, and then the aftermath...
~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~^~~^~^~^~^
"Listen, Y/N, I am getting sick, of you always being so ungrateful, towards me," Todoroki almost yelled out. Stepping back a little, this was the first time he had ever come this close to yelling at me, feeling all the panic and anxiety rise up in me.
I am really starting to regret almost hitting him, I mean I had my hand up until I realized what I was about to do I stopped, but Todoroki was more mainly focused on what I was about to do rather than what I really did. So right now he is mad at me because I almost hit him.
"Do you know how lucky you are for me to care about you so-......" Todoroki said almost yelling again, but this time stopping in the middle of his sentence, it was weird, it was like he was about to say something but got distracted by something.
Pausing a second for myself, I wonder what is Todoroki thinking right now, all I know is that it can't be good. Seeing him and the paused expression on his face, he starts to smirk a little. I already don't like where this is going.
"Let's play a game actually, a game where if you win then you are free to leave, and call the police on me, I bet you would love that wouldn't you," Todoroki says walking closer to me, with that smirk of his starting to fade. Stepping back, listening carefully to what he is saying.
"What will you get if you win?" I ask him, getting backed up by the wall. "Does that really matter, I mean you'll get what you've always wanted," He said, pinning me against the wall. Only inches are separating us, and even with all the tension between us I still, manage to do some kind of glare at him.
"But if you'd really like to know, if I win, then you'd have to do what I want you to do for a whole day without any of your complaining, but if you do complain... well, I guess, you'll have to say goodbye to one of your dear friends," he said, with a small smile on him now, grabbing the top of my shoulder...weird.
"What even is the 'little game' you want me to play?" I ask him, with a little irritation in my voice. "Well since you really want to escape so bad, I'll let you," He says stepping back. "What do you mean? What is this game?" I ask, puzzled.
"If you can escape from me, and not get caught, in the time span of 6 hours, I let you free, but however, if I am able to catch you within that time, I win, it's as simple as that," He says, plainly.
"If you do accept, I'll give you a 15 min head start," He says. "How will I know if the 6 hours pass, and you say you win," I say. "Here," He says, holding up a yellow watch. "This watch has a timer on it, so you'll know just how much time you have left," He says, putting it on my wrist.
"So is that yes, to this game?" He asks me. "...Yes," I respond, hesitantly. "Once I start this timer run, okay," He says, finishing up putting the watch on my wrist.
"3....... 2......... 1, "He says, starting the timer. Just like that, I start running to the nearest exit outside. Fortunately, for the last time, I tried to escape, I know exactly know where to go from here.
Seeing the door, I look at the watch, it has already been 9 minutes, and I need to hurry up. Opening the door, it is cold, I see snow on the ground, and the sun is up, Winter must have just passed. Todoroki definitely has the upper hand now.
I just start running off in any direction that is away from this house. I just need to stay away from him for 6 hours, which is going to be hard, considering that whenever I tried to escape, he always found me within 5 hours.
5 hours Later:
I have been running away from Todorki for a straight 5 hours, I just feel so exhausted, considering I never really ran in like forever, being kept up in that house for so long, it feels nice, but draining at the same time. Plus it is not really helping, that it is freezing cold and I am only wearing long sleeves and sweatpants.
Right now I am currently in some kind of forest, the ground is mostly made out of small rocks, and dirt, some big rocks around everywhere. The pine trees are small with some cut-down weird. Suddenly I make a stop, as I see there are 2 different paths in front of me.
The first is like the one, I am walking right now, but with more dirt than rocks, with a little bit more trees, that are bigger than the one behind me. The second one goes uphill, I think, and from what I can tell has a little snow...
If I go the first way I will be able to run faster and get away, but Todoroki will expect me to go this way. But if I go the other way then Todoroki won't be expecting it, so will hopefully go the other way.
Plus the snow is in patches right now, so I can take some time to avoid it, by running on the rocks and dirt, but it is safer going the first way because he does follow me to the second path he will definitely have the upper hand...
Fuck it, I turn to run the way with the patches of snow, running far enough from the two-way path, I step on one of the patches, it is icey, like shaved ice. Continuing my path, I see that now it is all filled with 'snow' and ice.
Todoroki Pov:
Following Y/N's path is really easy, I mean, when they left the house they left the door open, and judging by their sense of character it's pretty obvious that they would go straight. But following the path, I am stuck, there are 2 different paths.
Knowing Y/N, they'll probably play it safe, and take the path with no ice, but before I make my move, I check the tracking device, to see if they actually went the other way... strange, normally they would have more self-doubt, and take the safe path. They must really be desperate.
Anyway walking in a straight path, now knowing I will probably catch up to them now that they will be avoiding all the snow, taking up time, even though I have less than an hour, I know for a fact I will catch up to them. Plus I just can't let my little snowflake go that easily.
Y/N Pov:
Only 10 mins left, I think that I might actually be able to escape from him, even though I am still slowly going up this hill of ice and snow, I am still making progress.
"Snowflake~" Shit, I don't even need to turn back to know who it is. Trying to rush as much as possible, is hard, without slipping.
"Did you really think that you'd be able to escape me?" Looking back at my watch, only 1 minute left. He might not make it.
Suddenly, I feel the ice starting to move... Shit. It's starting to become a slope, trying to stay up for as long as possible, but it doesn't last long. Slipping and sliding down, seeing Todoroki at the bottom, I already know I lost.
Closing my eyes, preparing myself for whatever impact might come to me. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad but still had an impact. Opening my eyes, seeing that I landed in a pile of snow, with Todoroki right in front of me.
Feeling him grab my arm. "I win," He says, pulling me out of the pile of snow, and right on cue, I hear the timer go off.....
Wenclair Headcanon 🖤🩷
Wednesday realizes her feelings. Pt. 1
I lock my gaze in on the textbook sprawled out in front of me, pretending as if I didn’t catch Enid blatantly staring at me. I’m trying to ignore the fact that catching her has resulted in an unfamiliar, warm tingling sensation in my chest. How unsettling. How… Pleasant?
No.
The more I try not to focus on it, the more the words in the book in front of me blur to gibberish. I can feel a stinging of salt forming behind my eyes. The air suddenly feels too thick to breathe in. I go to grab my belongings so I can hurry out before something emerges that gives everyone a show. But the annoyance of being flustered causes my hand to pull too hard, and my textbook clamors down to the floor. If all eyes weren’t on me before, they certainly are now.
“Miss Addams, are you-“ Professor Lavinia starts, but i’m halfway out the door before she can finish. I trudge as fast as I can to the bathroom, my legs feeling like i’m walking through mud. I finally reach the restroom and the second the door swings shut, hurricane Wednesday is released.
What is this? Why is this happening? Why am I unable to hold back these tears, unable to catch my breath? Is this a panic attack? No. I am not an anxious person. This makes no sense. I topple over to the sink and throw an icy splash of water onto my face. The sudden coolness shocks me back to reality. My breath is finally catching. Just as I’m gaining control of myself again, the door swings open.
I look up, and as I lock eyes with the intruder to my moment of weakness, the stinging feeling returns to my eyes.
It’s her. Enid.
I take in a sharp breath of air, “what do you want, Sinclair?” I say coldly, trying not to make eye contact.
“I… um… Professor Lavinia asked for someone to come check on you. I… figured you’d prefer me over someone random. Are you alright?” she stutters.
I bring my gaze up to my reflection. Unable to recognize the being staring back at me. Emotional. Reddened, teary-eyes. Unable to form cohesive thoughts. This situation is absolutely horrifying, and I’m starting to believe i’ve gone mad.
“…..Wednesday?” she says. I realize I’ve been staring at myself for too long and didn’t actually answer her.
“I’m fine, Enid, I just-“ I start, making the mistake of locking eyes with her. Something pulls deep in my stomach at the sight of her. Her eyes are wide, with what I assume is worry. Normally I’m able to deflect any confrontation from those concerned with my feelings. But Enid.. I hate to admit it. But I’ve realized Enid has a way of making it through to the deepest parts of me in a way that’s incomprehensible. As if she’s found a weak point in the barricade i’ve built around my emotional side.
“I’m fine.” I spit out, quickly wiping my eyes and rushing to head out the door. I need air.
Just as I’m about to pass her, she does the unthinkable and grabs my arm. “Wednesday.” she says, a bit more stern inflection in her voice this time. She yanks me so i’m left with no choice but to face her, and I damn her werewolf capability of being physically stronger than her size would lead you to believe. “Touch me again, Sinclair, and. And…” I want to yell, I want to threaten her like I do to anyone who dares lay their hands on me unwillingly. But something makes me stop. My brow furrows at this frustrating conflict.
“Wednesday Addams, I know you’re totally not emotional and act like you don’t care, which is why this moment is so much more worrying for me. You told me that crying solves nothing, yet here you are. Clearly something IS wrong, and I’m not letting you go until you get whatever it is that’s happening off of your chest. Threaten to suffocate me, or cut off my hand, I don’t care. Spill, Addams. I’m serious,” she scolds. I stare harshly at her, and then sigh. I can feel my suppressed feelings starting to boil over, and the need to spew them out is burning in the back of my throat.
“Fine.” I spit, and out comes everything i’ve been trying so hard to avoid speaking aloud. Especially to the one who’s the causation of all this emotional turmoil.
bad idea, right? ~ joseph quinn
description: yes, i know that he's my ex, but can't two people reconnect?
pairings: joseph quinn x female!reader
warnings: swearing, rpf
masterlist (one, two, three)
semi based on this song
We didn't intend on reconnecting. It was a complete accident. A coincidence, even. We were both out with our friends at the same bar. It had been months since we broke up, and it was one of my first outings post-break up. Despite the fact that the relationship hadn't ended poorly, it was still hard to process. I spent a lot of nights crying to rom-coms with my friends afterwards.
I didn't expect to see him there. Actually, for once, I had fully forgotten that Joseph even existed. I was just excited to be out for the night, to have a good time with my friends.
It wasn't even me who saw him first. One of my friends, Fiona, who is incredibly sweet but also incredibly lightweight, gasped and leaned towards me to ask, "Isn't that Joseph?!"
Lynn, my best friend, elbowed Fiona as I whipped around to see where she had been looking. As she said, there he was - the beautiful, chocolate button eyed man I had been in love with for so long. He hadn't seen me yet. He was at the bar with a few of his friends, sat around and chatting. My heart started to pound as I turned back to my friends.
"Do you want to leave?" Lynn asked.
"No," I said. "I let him keep me from having fun for long enough. I'll just...avoid him as much as I can. Maybe he'll do the same if he sees me."
Lynn gave me a skeptical look, but decided to respect my wishes.
For the most part, the plan was a success. The girls and I moved to the dance floor once we all had enough drinks in us, and Joseph became a distant after thought.
That was, until I stumbled off the dance floor to get myself some water. I could tell that the alcohol was starting to get to me in a way that I would regret in the morning if I didn't try to sober up a little bit. I pushed through the crowd at the bar and asked the bartender for an ice water. I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings as I waited, until I heard a familiar voice say, "(Y/N)?"
That voice sobered me up better than any water could.
I turned to see Joseph stood basically right next to me. He looked as shocked as I felt. I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Luckily, the bartender gave me my water, so I used that as an excuse to try and get away.
"Wait!" Joseph said, reaching out to grab hold of my arm. He quickly let go just as soon as he grabbed me. "Sorry. I just...I didn't expect to see you."
"I didn't expect to see you, either," I said.
"Are you...here with anyone?"
I knew what his question meant, and I was a little surprised to hear him ask. "Just my friends. Lynn and the girls."
Is that relief I see on his face?"
"I'm here with the guys," he said, gesturing over his shoulder towards his friends. "I just got home from filming, they wanted to celebrate me being back."
"Aren't you tired from being away filming for so long?"
Joseph sighed, as if me asking him that lifted a weight off of his chest. "I'm so tired. I had such a long flight, too, but the lads wanted to go out right away because they're all busy the next few days."
"How long are you in town for?"
"Indefinitely. I have nothing else lined up right now until I have to do promo for A Quiet Place: Day One."
Why did I ask that? He's going to think I want to see him while he's home. I can't see him. We're broken up, I've mourned this relationship and let it go.
But have I? If I had, why did I ask him how long he's in town for? Why am I still here talking to him when I'm sure he would let me walk away if I tried to.
"It's good to see you," he said.
"It's good to see you, too," I said. I was surprised to find that I meant it, too.
We both stood in silence for a moment. I knew I should walk away, just end this whole interaction and go out separate ways. But my feet just wouldn't move. I just stood there, looking at him, every good memory I had from our year long relationship running through my mind. Despite my attempts to try to move on from our relationship the last few months, I was suddenly overwhelmed with a desire to pull him in and kiss him.
"Can we meet up while I'm home?" he asked. "Just...talk about things?"
Bad idea! Do not say yes!
"Yeah, okay," I responded.
Stupid!
His eyes lit up. "Okay. Um, do you have the same phone number?"
I nodded, unable to form the one word response. He still had my phone number? I thought he would've deleted it, considering he was the one who ended our relationship. I still had his, but only due to the fact that I had memorized it. Lynn deleted his number from my phone, but I never told her I had added it back in about a week later after a particularly hard night.
"I'll text you tomorrow, yeah?"
I nodded again. He smiled and reached out as if he were going to hug me. He hesitated, so I closed gap instead, grateful for the contact.
I thought he wouldn't remember, so I didn't bring it up to my friends. I didn't even tell them that I had been talking to him. I figured it was just one time, one night of momentary happiness, before I fell back into the sea of despair over my ended relationship.
So, imagine my surprise when I got a text message the next morning that read, "hey, i understand if you changed your mind, but that offer to meet up is still open."
As you can probably imagine, Lynn wasn't happy when I told her.
"You what?!"
I winced. "I didn't think he'd remember! It was late enough into the night that I figured he was a few drinks deep, and by the morning he wouldn't remember even seeing me."
"So you're not actually going to see him, right?"
I looked down at my lap, unable to look her in the eye.
Lynn groaned, "(Y/N)..."
"I know, I know. It's a bad idea to go."
"It's a terrible idea! You're still trying to get over your breakup. Going to meet up with him is just going to open old wounds."
She was right, and I hated that she was right. I had this sliver of hope that maybe meeting up with Joseph would result in us rekindling our relationship, but I knew that was unlikely. Joseph had broken up with me months ago because of how quickly his career had suddenly taken off after Stranger Things. It was like he went from a low profile actor to one of the most sought after actors. First it was Hoard, which was filmed right after Stranger Things. Then he was cast in A Quiet Place: Day One, which was an insanely big deal. And then right after that was Gladiator 2, an even bigger deal.
Between filming and press tours, I knew I wasn't going to see Joseph very often. That revelation hurt, but I knew he was happy, and if he was happy then I was happy. I would push through the long nights of missing him, the mornings waking up and wishing he was in bed next to me, the lonely feeling in the pit of my stomach. All of it was worth it to see him thrive.
But, Joseph didn't see things the same way, apparently. Because, just before he left to film A Quiet Place: Day One, he sat me down and told me he thought it would be best for me if we broke up.
"I don't want you to always be waiting for me," he had said. "You deserve to be happy with someone who will always be around and can give you everything you want. And, with the way my career is going right now, I don't think I can be that person for you."
As much as I wanted this meeting to end with us getting back together, I knew it was highly unlikely that Joseph would've changed his mind. It had only been months, and he still had so much on his plate. Just because he was home now until he had to leave and do more promo didn't mean he suddenly was no longer busy.
Lynn was right, I shouldn't go to the meeting. It was a bad idea. But, at the same time, I couldn't bring myself to cancel it.
So, that's how I found myself in the coffee shop where Joseph and I had our first date, waiting for him to show up. I wondered if he had intentionally picked this place for us to meet, or if it had been a coincidence.
I wasn't sure which option would hurt less.
I looked up as the bell over the front door chimed, and the familiar face of the love of my life looked around the room. When his eyes landed on me, he smiled and made his way over to where I was sitting.
"Hey," he said as he slid into the booth across from me. "You're early."
"I wanted to make sure I got us a spot to sit. I expected it to be busier here today."
It was a Sunday afternoon, which I figured would be prime time for a coffee shop to be busy. Besides Joseph and I, there was only one other person in the place - someone who was typing away at a laptop a few tables over.
"I got you a coffee," I told him as I slid the cup towards him. "Your usual."
He beamed at me. "You remembered."
"It hasn't been that long since I was making you your usual," I reminded him.
He nodded and looked down at the cup in front of him. An awkward tension filled the air. I wondered if what I said was wrong. Should I have brought up our relationship? Were we going to pretend we hadn't dated for a year? That we hadn't talked about marriage and planning our futures together in that year?
"There's so much I wish I could take back," Joseph said, finally. "I wish I hadn't...I wish I hadn't been so stupid all those months ago."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He sighed, the air from his mouth disrupting the steady flow of steam coming from his coffee. "I thought I was doing right by you by ending our relationship before my career got so hectic. I thought...I thought it would've been better for you if you could be with somebody who didn't have to be away for long periods of time and leave you by yourself."
"That wasn't really something for you to decide, though," I pointed out. "Not without talking to me first."
"I know."
"You just ended our relationship out of nowhere. I thought everything had been fine, and then suddenly..." I trailed off, feeling a lump form in my throat as I remembered that day months ago. I shook my head, trying to hold back any tears. "It was like the whole issue wasn't even up for discussion. You had decided we were over, that was it. The end."
"I know," he repeated. "And, God, do I ever feel like such a fucking idiot because of it."
"Good. You should, because you were an idiot."
I didn't say it maliciously, and luckily Joseph picked up on that. He chuckled. "Yeah, I was a massive idiot."
There was another moment of silence. I raised my coffee cup to my lips, blowing on it a little before taking a sip.
"I don't suppose there's any chance at trying to start over?"
The coffee slipped down my throat the wrong way as I reacted to his question. I quickly put the cup down and coughed up the hot liquid. The person a few tables over looked at us, interested but uncaring, before turning back to her laptop.
"Are you okay?" Joseph asked, a light chuckle in his voice.
"You couldn't have waited until after I swallowed to ask that?" I retorted.
"Okay, maybe that was bad on my part, you're right."
Once I had finally finished my coughing fit, I cleared my throat and sat up straighter to look at him.
"Are you serious?" I asked him.
"About starting over?" I nodded. "I am serious. (Y/N), you have to believe me when I say these last few months have been hell for me, too. I missed hearing your voice every day, or seeing your texts come in. When I got word that I was coming home for an indefinite period of time, I almost called you to tell you on instinct. I made the biggest mistake by breaking up with you. I know that will never go away and it will likely always be something that hangs over us, but I would do anything to prove to you how much I do still love you."
I was so sure I was dreaming. There was no way this was real. This was exactly what I had wanted to happen, so surely it must've been a dream, right?
But the burning in my chest from swallowing hot coffee the wrong way told me I wasn't dreaming. Joseph was actually here, sat across from me and looking at me with those big brown eyes that I loved so much, asking me if we could try to start over in our relationship. Obviously, I wanted to throw my arms around him and kiss him and tell him that of course I wanted to get back together with him. This was all I had wanted for months since we broke up. But, the more rational part of me (the part that sounded like Lynn, actually) told me not to go there just yet.
"You really hurt me, Joseph," I reminded him.
"I know I did. I know I'm sorry isn't enough, but I am so sorry for doing what I did to you."
"If we are giving this relationship another shot, then you have to promise me that you will talk to me about this stuff before you make big decisions like that. I understand that you were trying to think of me in that moment, but if you had talked to me before deciding to just break up with me, I would've told you that I wanted to be with you even if I don't get to see you for long periods of time. I was so happy for you to be getting those roles, Joe. I was excited to hear the stories from sets and to get to watch you grow. The feeling of loneliness was a very small price to pay if it meant getting to see you be happy."
He looked away from me again. "I guess...I didn't really think of it that way."
"Because you were being an idiot."
He smiled. "Yeah, I was."
"A colossal idiot."
"A mega idiot."
"A mega, colossal idiot."
We both laughed then. Joseph's hand started to reach out towards me, but then he hesitated. I reached out the rest of the way and intertwined my fingers with his.
"Will you give me another shot, (Y/N)?" he asked again. "I promise I will never be such a mega, colossal idiot again."
I nodded. "Of course I'll give you another shot."
His entire face lit up with happiness. He squeezed my hand before tugging on it, pulling me a little closer as he leaned over the table to kiss me. It was only a quick peck, like he was testing the waters, but it was all I needed. It was what I had been wanting for so long now, just to feel his lips against mine again.
When he sat back, his hand still in mind, I gave it another squeeze and asked, "Are you allowed to tell me any stories from A Quiet Place? Or is it all top secret, hush hush?"
He smiled. "You know I'd tell you anything, even if it was top secret."
And just like that, we fell back into a usual routine. It was as if the last few months apart had never happened. And I was more than happy to forget it had.
