Might have gone slightly insane due to lack of sleeping and made a tiny John Ward from Airdorf 's FAITH amigurumi that squeaks when you squeeze its head. The yarn is shitty but it's all I had, I didn't follow any pattern and made a mess and now I need a nap but it fits.

A+ for effort, he's trying.
HC: Mask just has never tried this before. The most experience he's had with drawing was helping carve the tree with Skull Kid and drawing stick figures in the mud with a stick pfpfpf

I do like Velki and Elda. They have charm, in a serial killing way that makes me intrigued as to their backstories. Particularly Elda and her severe misophonia. Half of the clerics present are either fawning or declaring your doom, based on whether or not you became Chosen. Meanwhile these ladies don't care about any of this fate of the world stuff: Elda is just glad for the quiet, and Velki's too busy being sad that she can't have her Bhaalspawn pelt.
Evil priorities. I declare them my Durge's former besties.

Which version of Ulysses would you recommend, and which translation of In Search of Lost Time?
“[Joyce] arrived drunk and poorly dressed; Proust, draped in furs, opened the door.”
— Ben Jackson on the first meeting between James Joyce and Marcel Proust
Oh, someone's fixing to be King Shit of Fuck Mountain in 2025. We love to see it!
another day volunteering at the james joyce museum. everyone keeps asking me if they can fuck the gabler edition. buddy, they wont even let me fuck it
If you're going to unhinge your jaw and swallow Recherche whole, Modern Library has a beautiful six volume set of Enright's 1992 revision of Kilmartin's 1981 revision of Moncrieff's original translation (and which takes into account the French Pléiade edition published in 1954). Save Lydia Davis' translation of Swann's Way for when you inevitably double back and revisit—it's a fantastic translation, but I think consistency is the best approach for a first time readthrough.

New hobby just dropped (new hobby has been brewing for the last 3+ years)
1: 64mo blank book, aka 1/64 of a letter sized piece of paper. Total 1.5 sheets, dimensions ~1x1.5 in.
2: progress pic, the 64mo textblock. second binder clip is an attempt to make something even smaller than a 64mo
3: progress pic, the 64mo cut and folded signatures, ready to be punched and sewn
4: sticker of my bindery logo, which I designed myself :) + quarto notebook bc I made the textblock forever ago as practice, started using it as a notebook, and then figured if I was gonna use it, I should put a hard cover on it. It currently serves as my reference guide (paper size, suppliers, margins, etc).
Anyways it's so over. I'll see you in hell (WIP list)

Welcome to my ski jumping Instagram following analysis that literally nobody asked for (I am in need of new hobbies btw)
For this I analysed all male jumpers who scored world cup points this season (67 in total).
The most follower has Zyla (412.000), followed by Stoch (396.000) and Kubacki (353.000). Wellinger is fourth and the first none polish jumper with around 165.000 followers.
Bartolj (1.090), Marusiak (1.233) and Imhof (1.331) have the least followers.
The FIS Instagram has a following of around 95.700 people. Jumpers who have a higher following than this and can be considered "bigger than the sport" (you get what I mean hopefully) are Zyla, Stoch, Kubacki, Wellinger, Kot, P. Prevc, R. Kobayashi, Kraft and Geiger.
On average a male ski jumper has 45.007 followers. Jumpers who have an over average following are the above and Tande, Forfang, Hayböck, Leyhe, Granerud and D. Prevc.
A few things that surprised me are that Kos is the only jumper out of the top 10 in WC that has less than 10.000 followers. Especially since he is basically carrying team Slovenia in terms of content imo. Also, Sundal has just 3.363 followers which seems low considering he was on the podium this season. I thought that Stoch has the most followers tbh and not Zyla but apparently I was wrong.
Let´s move on the nations in general.
Tumblr media
As you can see Poland obviously has the most followers on average (who is suprised? Not me). USA has the least.
A thing to point here is that Japan is being carried heavily by Ryoyu. Without him team Japan would be just above Switzerland. Also, the second most following in team Japan has Junshiro.
This trend can be seen in team Slovenia as well. Peter has almost triple as much followers as his brother Domen, who has the second most followers in the team. Interestingly if we would count Cene in this statistic too, he would be number 3 in terms of following (in front of Timi, Anze, etc.). So we can see that jumpers with successful siblings maybe get a boost by this.
Team Norway feels the most homogeneous. The main guys (Danny, Johann, Halvor, Robert, Marius) have pretty similarly following. It is a spread from around 30.000 between them but that is nothing compared to team Austria for example (Stefan has over 70.000 more followers than Michi in second). The reason for that is that team Norway has noone who has that really big following. All the other top teams have at least one jumper who is sticking out.
From the small teams (with just one person in the standings) Ipcioglu has the most followers with over 30.000, which is quite remarkable for a jumper who isn’t from a ski jumping nation.

My setup today at the reptile expo!
I will definitely say, the Sunday shows are not as good as the Saturday ones. We'll probably be skipping Sunday ones from now on. I did hand out a lot of business cards and brochures today, though, and made a good impression on a lot of people. I even had one person drag her family to my booth after she handled a mouse, and we were able to work out trading in the mice her niece bought from someone else for some of mine instead.
I KNOW we changed some minds today, because there were several people who made disgusted faces until I started talking and they meandered close enough to see someone holding a calm, sweet mouse. Absolutely LOVE hearing "I never knew a mouse could be like this." I had one pest-control guy stop by and explain that he kills mice for a living, but he wanted to hold a live one that was calm and he kept quietly saying to himself "it's so different/it's so nice." I had so many people ask me "how much do you handle them to get them this tame" and be surprised the answer is "I do not handle them, this temperament is bred into their DNA." I had a lady who just... broke, standing there with a mouse laying in her hands calm as could be, and she said very quietly "do little kids hold these?" Just mystified.
I've learned now to say that they won't jump or bite because they are bred for show and have to be able to sit in a judge's hand without jumping or biting, and for some reason the judge part of this just clicks the info for people? Like I always say no they won't jump or bite, but they don't always believe me... but I say a judge has to be able to hold it? Every single person was like "oh" and just relaxed about it. Suddenly it's just like: Ah, Yes, this is a Professional Mouse.
Someone from my old job showed up, and didn't recognize me, though I recognized them. When I mentioned it, they said they'd left, too, they only "lasted" two months. I said I was there twelve years and they were like HOW and it's like my dude (neutral), I entered a fugue state in 2010 and quit the job 12 years later I guess. They ended up taking 2 mice home.
At any rate, I had fun as always. We have another one Saturday, so I'm hoping to sell the few that didn't sell today, and to bring a few more that weren't quiiiiite ready to go today. I wish the tricolors would get their act together and start breeding better, because I would LOVE to offer more of those. The siamese are working on it, which is great because those ALSO sell fast. But alas, I cannot make the mice go any faster than they want to go.

I know he's Elminster, but the fact that he gets to be level 20 while I have to mod the game to get over level 12 is fundamentally unfair. Game balance blah blah - gimme level 20.
(Technically being a level 6 wizard is supposed to be impressive - at least back in 2e, not sure how game balance carries over, but I like to believe the standard continues -so we're still absurdly powerful. Nevertheless - level 20.)

1. Compound bows are complicated and I'm basically having to completely rethink everything I've ever known about archery.
2. Thanks to having been chronically ill and nearly 4 years of inactivity, I have practically no upper body strength. I might have to lift some weights because my arms are basically noodles.
3. Day 1 and I've already lost an arrow. 😑
