Excited to finally be able to post progress shots of this large three-panel piece. This is a comission piece for #hmcsyork #juniorranksmess. Similar to another painting I did for #hmcsedmonton, this one depicts a naval scene of sailors at work onboard an #mcdv working with a #smallboat, another mcdv ship in the back and a helicopter. Stay tuned for more progress shots and the final piece. This isn't my usual subject matter but I still enjoyed the challenge of composing such a large painting (3 by 6 feet). Excited to finally release the completed painting comissioned by @hmcs_ncsm_york. This piece is acrylic on canvas, made of three panels, 30"x 24" each and it hangs in the Junior Ranks Mess at HMCS York. It took about a month to complete, not considering the planning phase. It was quite a challenge but I enjoyed every minute of it, even when I wanted to pull my hair out 😅. This one is dedicated to my fellow sailors.
